Rambo Last Blood ranks high on films that are legit unnecessary sequels. Whereas Rambo 4 left the character on a good note with closure, Last Blood negates all that and gives us an empty movie with the last 20 minutes being the only good thing and even then it ends up being anti-climatic. Just Mercy is a movie based off the true story of Walter McMillian, a black man from Monroeville, Alabama, who was accused and convicted of murdering a 18 year old white woman. Through the trial and tribulation of Bryan Stevenson, Walter was able to get his conviction overturned and was free from jail. The best thing about this film is that it doesn't sugarcoat all the hardships that Bryan had to go through in helping Walter. Michael B. Jordon does a good job of showing the hardships and Jamie Foxx acts his ass off in portraying Walter. More than anything its the supporting cast that does a phenomenal job from Brie Larson to Karen Kendrick who plays Minnie McMillian. The film is just solid across the board. Definitely a must see film. Go see it when it drops December 25, 2019 in theaters across the country. 3BG rating: 9 out of 10

Angel Has Fallen is a simply action movie that is full of tropes from top to bottom. Its a fun action movie that has alot of over the top scenes. The plot you can see coming a mile away with the story beats and for the most part Gerard Butler is competent as Secret Service Agent Mike Banning. Good Boys is basically Superbad Jr. Now its not a bad thing that its labeled that way because past the labeling, the movie is very good and endearing and this mainly because the three boys are 12 years old and act like what you expect out of 12 year old kid in these bizarre scenarios that they are going through. The Kitchen is a simple movie that is able to tell its story in a compelling way that gets you invested somewhat in the characters. Tiffany Haddish does a damn good job as a cutthroat wife alongside Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Moss who bring different variety to these three characters coming together. Far as these live action Disney adaptations go, The Lion King ends up being a top notch film. Great visual effects, pretty good voice over work, and the music is great as well. You'd be hardpressed to find anything wrong with the film. Overall this is a must watch film especially in IMAX. Jessica Jones Season 3 marks the official end of the Marvel Netflix experiment and much like Daredevil Season 3, this show ends on a good bookend to the series while also making up for the lackluster Season 2. We dive into this recap with full tilt spoilers so if you haven't watched this season yet then avoid this episode.

Coming off Avengers Endgame, Spiderman Far From Home had alot to live up to. As an epilogue to Endgame, Spiderman does a fantastic job of telling a self contained story about Peter Parker without the shadow of Endgame looming over it. At the same time, the film addresses the fall out from that film but doesn't dwell on it. On paper Toy Story 4 isn't necessary and yet the film proper does a great job of justifying its existence to where it serves as a solid epilogue to the trilogy of films before it. Toy Story 4 takes all the themes of the previous films and adds in the wrinkle of what it means to find purpose in life. Shaft is a very interesting franchise rooted in its blaxsploitation roots. 19 years ago, John Singleton gave us an updated version starring Sam Jackson in the role. It was an ok movie overall that had some over the top moments. So this followup sequel on first glance seems like a cash grab but it ends up being a pretty good film mainly because of writer Kenya Barris making the dialogue believable and not over the top stupidity. The MiB franchise for the most part has been a fun watch with the animated series doing the heavy lifting in terms of fleshing out the lore. In comes MiB International which has a very back to basic approach in that it uses the plot framework of the first film with a different set of circumstances and for the most part it works. Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth have such a good chemistry with each other that it helps the film out big time. The X-Men franchise has been a very hit and miss movie affair. Dark Phoenix is in a position where on one hand, its a way better movie than X-Men Apocalypse but the flipside is that once again we're getting a movie about the Phoenix. With Disney going full tilt into doing live action retellings of the older animated films, Aladdin comes to us offering a surprisingly good retelling of the og cartoon with some good changes for some of the characters. Will Smith manages to do a solid job as the Genie as well. Well worth the watch. 3BG rating: 8 out of 10

Very rare do you see a movie franchise constantly one up itself with every sequel and the John Wick films do just that. John Wick 3 immediately from jump hits you with action with a simple plot and doesn't let up till right at the end. Solid film all around and worth the watch.
