We know that prayer is important, but it can also be really hard. What are we supposed to say? How are we supposed to pray? And does prayer really make a difference? In this week’s episode of Trinity Talks, Kylah sits down with some of those who organized Trinity’s Week of Prayer to talk about why we set aside a week to pray together. We talk about different ways to pray, the value of praying in community, and how prayer has shaped each of our lives. We also dive into themes of hope and despair as we discuss N.T. Wright’s book “Surprised by Hope”, what it means to pray for God’s kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven, and what role we have to play in that. What does faith look like in the lives of young adults today? On this week's episode of Trinity Talks we sit down with Jordan and Jesse to talk about their faith journeys so far and what difference church and Christ have made in their lives. Talking about death at Christmas might feel out of place—after all, Christmas is a celebration of birth, not death. Yet, as Ebenezer Scrooge discovers, Christmas can be the perfect time for a funeral. While every one of us will face a natural death, Christmas offers a different invitation: to die to our old selves and begin living for others.

Economic challenges have hit us all, but it’s especially hard for those who’ve lost jobs and homes and have nowhere to turn. The Open Door offers a space for everyone to come and find what they need - whether it’s clothing, food, comfort, friendship or just a listening ear. The Open Door operates in Mississauga’s Square One Mall and serves hundreds of clients each week. Join us as Lynn Culham (Executive Director) and Krista Fakaua (Assistant Executive Director) take us on a tour of The Open Door and share about the impact of their ministry and the ways that we can all support others in hard times. We talk about food insecurity, poverty, health challenges, prayer and the importance of supportive relationships that bring comfort and healing in the most challenging moments of our lives.

Safe places and safe people are things that all of us need, no matter how old. The Dam provides those places and people for youth in Mississauga. Starting as an upstream response to homeless youth living in Toronto, The Dam offers drop-in programs, meals, mentorship opportunities and much more to youth living in the Meadowvale and Cooksville areas. Join us as Ken Dryfhout, Program Director, takes us on a tour of The Dam in Meadowvale. You’ve probably heard the saying, ‘There’s no time like the present.’ And it’s true. While we often get stuck dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, the present is where life actually happens. Every word of love spoken, every meal shared, every song enjoyed—all of it happens in the ‘now.’ The past and future are simply collections of moments we’ve lived or have yet to live. This Sunday, as we continue our series The Ghost of Christmas, we’ll explore how to truly live in the present and encounter God in the moment.

How do you turn a little into a lot? In life, we often find ourselves needing God to transform small opportunities into great ones, limited abilities into remarkable skills, or low energy into abundant strength. When Jesus fed 5,000 people with just a few loaves and fish, He revealed a powerful truth: when we offer God what little we have, He can multiply it!

How can we heal the division and detachment in our world today? Sometimes, the most complicated problems have the simplest solutions. Biblical hospitality is one of the most powerful ways to break down barriers and extend God’s love to others. Since many feel more at ease in a living room than in a church, our homes can become outposts of the Kingdom of God—places where grace, connection, and love flourish.
