They say “Greed makes the world go ‘round”—but at what cost? It’s so common we hardly notice it, yet it quietly shapes how we live, spend, and see others. This Sunday, we’re pulling back the curtain on greed: exposing its grip, examining its effects, and listening to what Jesus has to say about the one sin that no one thinks they have.

We’re all so busy, and yet some days it feels like we got nothing done, like nothing we do even matters anyway. In this podcast we use the framework of “sloth” as a way to understand what matters, we ask questions like “why are we so busy?”, “why isn’t social media making me feel fulfilled?”, and “what creates burnout?”. We talk honestly about what to do when it feels like nothing matters and how depression and chronic illness factor into all of this. We navigate these challenges together and search for practices that provide a way forward into hope and meaning.

When we hear the word sloth, we think of slow-moving animals or binge-watching Netflix—hardly the stuff of deadly sins. But what if we’ve misunderstood it? Sloth isn’t just laziness—it’s indifference. It’s the countless distractions that fill our time with trivial things while ignoring what’s really important. It’s the quiet voice that whispers, “Nothing really matters.” Work doesn’t matter. Life doesn’t matter. Love doesn’t matter. Faith doesn’t matter. Even God doesn’t matter. And that’s why sloth is so dangerous. It slowly pulls us away from purpose, from loving others, from serving our community, and even from believing the gospel.

What is envy? How is envy different from jealousy? And why does it even matter? These are some of the questions we wrestle with this week. We also talk about the influence of social media on our desires, the problem with consumer culture, and the importance of checking ourselves regularly. Although envy is something we all struggle with, there is a way forward through gratitude, compassion and humility. Listen in to find out what that looks like and why it’s so simple and yet so challenging.

"As a moth gnaws a garment, so doth envy consume a man." These ancient words by John Chrysostom are still true today. Envy is a joy thief—it fuels comparison, conflict, and discontent. Is there a better way? Today we'll see how godly wisdom, gratitude, and a heart at peace can help us break free from the green-eyed monster.

If you’ve been around Christians much you’ve probably heard the word “sin”, but has anybody ever explained what that actually means? As we enter this season of Lent (another Christian word that isn’t always explained), Bill, Kylah and Johanna take some time to wrestle with what sin actually is, how it works in our lives, and all of its messy complications and contradictions. This Sunday, we wrap up our Heroes of Faith series by studying Hebrews 11:32-40 and learning about Super Sight—a faith that looks past the now to something greater. Can you see it?

When good things happen, when our prayers are answered, does it really mean that God is listening? Or are we just really lucky? This week on Trinity Talks Trevino shares his story of growing up in Jamaica, immigrating to Canada as a child, trying to make it on his own and holding on to prayer as a lifeline through it all. Yet, when those prayers were answered, he often credited luck rather than God. That changed in high school when God answered one incredibly important prayer. Listen to Trevino’s story as an athlete, parent and follower of Jesus trying to live out the legacy of his grandparents and pass it on to his kids.

Sad but true—throughout history, even in the Bible, women’s stories have often been overshadowed. But this Sunday, we’ll see how Rahab flips the script, rising from damsel in distress to hero of faith. Join us as we discover how God moves on the margins and how faith is often found in the most unexpected places.

How do I share my faith with my friends? What does it mean to follow Jesus while in high school? On this episode of Trinity Talks Kylah sits down with Finn and Austin to chat about what faith looks like for them. They share about getting to know Jesus through Trinity, learning to share their faith at school and on TikTok, and building a strong group of friends to keep them accountable. Kylah learns what unc status means and why Austin is low key jealous of the people who have already died.

Talking about death at Christmas might feel out of place—after all, Christmas is a celebration of birth, not death. Yet, as Ebenezer Scrooge discovers, Christmas can be the perfect time for a funeral. While every one of us will face a natural death, Christmas offers a different invitation: to die to our old selves and begin living for others.

Economic challenges have hit us all, but it’s especially hard for those who’ve lost jobs and homes and have nowhere to turn. The Open Door offers a space for everyone to come and find what they need - whether it’s clothing, food, comfort, friendship or just a listening ear. The Open Door operates in Mississauga’s Square One Mall and serves hundreds of clients each week. Join us as Lynn Culham (Executive Director) and Krista Fakaua (Assistant Executive Director) take us on a tour of The Open Door and share about the impact of their ministry and the ways that we can all support others in hard times. Safe places and safe people are things that all of us need, no matter how old. The Dam provides those places and people for youth in Mississauga. Starting as an upstream response to homeless youth living in Toronto, The Dam offers drop-in programs, meals, mentorship opportunities and much more to youth living in the Meadowvale and Cooksville areas.
