On this podcast we take a deep dive into the Old Testament including some of the tricky bits about war, women and promises taken out of context. Kylah and Brittan sit down with Dr. Marion Taylor, Old Testament Professor at Wycliffe College, to discuss the importance of the Old Testament for Christians today and how to overcome some of the common challenges when face within it. We tackle questions such as “how should we understand the mass killings in the Old Testament?”, “what’s the connection between the Old Testament and Jesus?”, “what’s the Bible’s view of women?” and “how have women interpreted the Bible throughout history?”. Dr. Taylor shares the hope and comfort that she and her students have found in the Old Testament while also pointing us back to the teachings and legacy of women from the Old Testament to the present who have shown us that God is bigger than our gender stereotypes.
