Mike and Torya complain about their long day. Mike speaks about his appearance on The Bitter Truth. They discuss the time they spent at the mall. Mike and Torya discuss their impending trip to the California Libertarian State Convention. Mike discusses how he has met Libertarians. Mike opens the show telling Torya to keep her stinky hands away from him. Torya explains why her hands are stinky. Mike says they have a no weiner, full weiner, and a half weiner. Mike says that the Mueller Report was finally released and as he expected, they found no collusion and no determination on obstructions justice. The report is one big nothing burger. Mike compares society with Boston sports fans. When the investigation started, Democrats said that Mueller will find collusion if it exists. Now that he has declared there was no collusion found,, they want to start another investigation. Mike points out that Democrats want to change the Electoral College rules because it will benefit them. They discuss how people are so biased that they can hear something that was said and if they are told it was said by the person they hate, they hate it even though it was actually said by the person they support. Torya claims to be politically agnostic and Mike challenges her on that. They discuss the campaign for POTUS in 2020 and how Trump makes bad decisions. They discuss why people should all vote for the person they think is best for them and their family.

Mike opens the show talking about some problems he has been experiencing with his laptop for a long time resulting in his laptop not booting today. Torya discusses some annoyances while working at Starbucks. Mike says Mitchell hit two personal records (PRs) in the track meet. Torya says Mitchell is officially taller than all the women in his life. Mike says people are going to be annoying. Mike points out that human beings are basically selfish. Yogi has finally gotten used to having foster siblings.

Mike and Torya open the show discussing the Puma Man. Torya explains her funniest memory from being a child. Mike describes his take on the law of averages. Torya doesn't have a favorite memory as an adult. Torya says the only memory she has that is particularly wonderful is the day they got married. Torya's first interaction with a dog was a Scottie named Scottie. Torya says her dad shaped who she is today. Mike says that a mortal enemy can be the person who influenced you the most. Torya says she feels both parents influenced her equally. Mike says he thinks that's the best approach. Mike says Torya is intelligent and funny. Torya says that life in 5 years will include owning a house, living somewhere less crowded. Mike says that success means not being worried about your future. Torya thinks immediately of a monkey clashing symbols together when asked to think of the first thing that comes to mind. Torya's favorite domestic pet is a cat because she likes they don't take any of your shit, yet expect you to continue feeding them. Torya describes the relationship between Yogi and Beans. Mike points out that he and Torya define the same thing with different terminology. Torya says if limited to just drinking soda, water, tea or coffee, she would choose soda. Mike and Torya open the show discussing the trouble their guest is having with technology. They describe Jackson's journey to find a good spot for the interview. Jackson talks about how his life is changing. Jackson tells Mike and Torya that his open mic appearances didn't go so well. Mike says Jackson is still awesome just for putting himself out there. Jackson explains that many people who are unhappy feel that way because they never do anything. Mike explains that as Jackson keeps doing this he will get better. Mike announces that he is apparently very rude. Mike describes a woman at Starbucks who listened in to a private conversation and then took the time to let him know she thought he was rude. Mike points out the irony of the situation wherein a rude person who did several rude things calls him rude. Mike discusses the homeless shelter issue yet again. Mike announces a problem with society and communication. Mike says that when the speaker uses a term and defines it, that's the definition that must be used. People are far too sensitive and they are the person they claim others are. Consistent opinions are the best opinions. Mike rants about the term NIMBY. He disagrees with the standard definition of the term. Torya speaks about labels. She says society wants to eliminate labels (and that's why they get upset) yet they label Mike. Mike and Torya have never coordinated social media trolling. Mike talks about how people who live in an area cross path all the time and don't even realize it. Mike suggests that questions are the solution to the communication problems.

Mike opens the show discussing how people lie about others online. Torya says she doesn't know what to say. Mike points out how people act like children, yet accuse others of that very same thing. Mike talks about his trip to the Coin concert despite being super sick. Torya discusses her situation with Postmates. The driver drove past the apartment to get gas 2.5 miles away and wound up being 20 minutes late with the order for the restaurant that is less than 0.1 miles from the apartment.

Mike says there is a place they go too often. Torya refuses to say where that is. Mike says it is McDonald's. Torya doesn't want to talk about McDonald's. Mike rants about McDonald's employees and their mobile order feature. Mike says training is part of the issue at McDonald's. Mike continues to rant about the issues with McDonald's. Mike says there will be some running going on as it is Mitchell's first ever high school track meet. Torya says Mitchell is going to be cold! Torya found this place and their hesitation was that it was inside of a car wash. Torya watched the reviews and then asked to go there. The atmosphere was not great since it was inside of a car wash. Mike describes people who were running across the dark street Torya describes an issue from British Columbia. An officer pulled over a man and had his dog check the car. The dog alerted. He found 27,000 fentanyl pills. The court threw the case out. Mike explains that he agrees with the logic of the approach, but disagrees with the ultimate decision. She told him no. Today that guy came back and called Torya a racist for not shouting him out. Torya says this is her hot button–being called a racist when she's done nothing to deserve it. They discuss their work with the dog rescue.

Mike says you had to be there to understand it. He explains that the dog and Torya were playing with a toy, making a lot of noise. Torya throws the toy and it lands on a tall chair. Mike talks about his blood pressure headaches coming back. His blood pressure doesn't indicate a problem. Yogi interrupts the show as usual Mike talks about his doctor's approach to the headaches he is having and how pleased he is with that approach. They discuss how awesome Elevated Health is. Torya opens the show annoyed. Mike says Torya is annoyed by everything Mike mentions they just came from a homeless town hall meeting Torya complains the moderator didn't moderate Mike says people are ruled by fear. Shelters don't drop home values Torya says that if she is looking to buy a home and sees a bunch of homeless wandering the street, she won't buy. On the other hand, if she knows there is a shelter nearby and there are no homeless on the streets, she will buy. Mike points out how ingenious Judge Carter was with his plans. Mike points out that anomalies exist, so just dismiss those when having a disagreement and you automatically become closer together. If 40% don't want help, 60% do want help, so let's focus on the 60% Mike rants that most of the people just want the homeless banished to a concentration camp somewhere. Torya rants that people complain the nearby cities should be doing their part and then they say we should send our homeless to other cities.

They open the show talking about their trip to Moreno Valley to rescue a wiener dog. It was a wasted trip because they could not take the dog as other people were in line before them. Mike says it seems like the Noah's Ark story from the Bible. Torya mentions how the manager of the building thought her comments about the flooded pool area was a complaint. Mike says he hates rain because he has to drive in it. Torya explains how Mike dropped her and the kids off near the door of Walmart during a torrential downpour. Mike describes the flooded parking lot at Walmart. Torya says there were about 25 people crowded around the windshield wiper area. Mike says people drive like lunatics in the rain. Torya relates the racism issue to people who call other people white trash. Mike rants about people who check Facebook once a month and then respond to a comment and tag him. Canada has changed the law to allow police to conduct sobriety tests in situations they normally would not have been allowed to in the past. Mike reads an article from Globalnews.ca about this topic. Mike brings up DUI checkpoints. Torya defends DUI checkpoints by saying the police in Canada are not like the police in the USA. Torya talks about Trudeau and how hated he is in Canada. Mike points out that the Canadian leaders' power is tied to the power of their party. Mike complains that the Canadian system is a poorly designed system. Mike discusses that he is not convinced the Canadian system is better than the American system.

Mike opens the show and lets us all know he is fired up. He says he has been waiting to start the show for more than an hour. He goes on to discuss the potential for a homeless shelter less than a mile from their home. This has been discussed on the show before. Mike says that due to proximity, they should have a say on that homeless shelter. He wants to address some comments that were made at the city council meeting. He goes on to say that if he agrees with you, or he disagrees with you, if your facts are wrong, he will be calling you out on it. He says it doesn't mean you're stupid or wrong, it means you stated some incorrect facts and he is calling you out on that issue, and that issue alone. There was an open house held about the homeless shelter. He says it was obvious that many of the people had no idea how government works and he feels that is fine. The fact that they've shown up for this issue is a good thing. As for the city council meeting, people could not figure out how to fill out the form for requesting to be a speaker. They have a checkbox that says “Oral Communication” or a box for the agenda item itself. The law in California says you cannot speak on an agenda item in public comments. You speak right before a vote on that agenda item. The clerk announced that there were many people who didn't indicate what they wanted to talk about. She said she would call the names out to sort them out. The very first person named came up and talked about the homeless situation. That wasn't supposed to happen. Torya feels the city made a colossal mistake. She says they should have moved the agenda item for this homeless shelter to the front of the agenda. She feels it was rude to keep them waiting until 9:30 pm from 5 pm when they knew why the people were there. Mike points out that they even took the Council Communications section before the public hearing. Mike transitions to the comments he is seeing online about the homeless shelter. People don't want a homeless shelter “that close to a school.” California state law says that you cannot place restrictions on homeless shelters that are not placed on homes and apartments. He says the real truth is that the fear they have is something already happening because the police cannot enforce the law due to the lack of shelter space. This makes their argument a moot point. Mike rants about the fact that when your worst case scenario is already an option, your argument is not worthwhile. Mike rants about how they were simply chasing the homeless from location to location, but now they share data and know what that person has been up to. Mike rants about the arguments against the shelter that claim to worry about issues that are already going on. The people act like the homeless shelter would be the cause of these issues. Mike highlights the comments of a man who said that this environment is awful. The man said “You people are like the people who say they can't be racist because you have black friends.” He stated this because the people speaking against the shelter continually stated “I have nothing against the homeless.” Mike clapped for this comment and he received so many dirty looks. Mike again points out that if he disagrees with one or more of your points, that doesn't mean he disagrees with all of your points. Mike and Torya make a statement that they are very proud of the people who came out to be heard. Mike says he may disagree, but he is glad the people came to the meeting. Torya says there is a transparency issue. She is not saying they are hiding something, but they way they've handled the issue, it gives the appearance they are. Mike ends the show predicting that the shelter will be approved by a 3-2 vote.

Mike and Herman discuss how easily offended people are when they are called out about a lie or misstatement. Mike says that New Year's resolutions are a waste of time. Herman says he loves that people wait an entire year to start working on a goal. This leads to a discussion about the various resolutions people make that are the most common. Somehow, Herman rants about the word “diet” and how much he hates it. He goes on and on about different types of diets. The discussion turns to workouts that kill you. Herman talks about the avoidance of what he ate even when tracking his calories. He points out he doesn't want people to know what he ate. Mike asks Herman the strangest topic he covered on his show. He says he and someone else spoke about the kneeling in professional sports and it didn't go well. Mike tells Herman about the Trash Bag Basketball episode. Herman recounts a time he did a show where they drank. Mike says he relates because he wants to get some adults together to play board games and then wants to record the entire game session. Torya says that if you want to hear curse words you've never heard, put Mario Kart in and listen to her go. Mike tells a story about Torya's past where the police were called because she and two other women were yelling at the television when playing games. Mike tells the story of his experience with the Canadian police. Herman tells a story about Adam Carolla saying he has “FU money” and how he doesn't give a shit about the smaller things. Mike says that Dr. Drew is the smartest dumb guy he has ever encountered. He talks about how Adam calls Drew out on all his stupidity. Mike points out that podcasts are growing because the creators can put out whatever content they want and the audience decides if the show survives or not. Herman discusses how he likes to play the room. He finds people's awkwardness funny. Mike explains why they started Yogi's Podcast Network. Herman explains his take on the same thing. He has The Rant which is a broad topic show. He then has other shows that spotlight individual things. They get back to the topic of resolutions and agree that you should just get it done. No need to wait for the New Year. Herman says his biggest pet peeve is bad drives and cell phones while driving.

Torya launches the team into a rant about their recent trip to a City Council meeting and how rude the people there were. They discuss how Torya likes her personal space and how she hates hugs in public. This leads to a detailed discussion about the woman who kept leaning across Torya's lap during the meeting. Mike points out that 98.4% of the time when there is an explicit tag on this show, it is the fault of Torya's mouth. Torya actually agrees. Mike rants about the inconsistency of society. He mentions how a past POTUS did something and now that the new POTUS does the same thing, people object. Mike rants about how teammates support cheating and they should not. Siding with one side all the time means you are going to be wrong a large percentage of the time.

It is the first day of 2019 and Mike and Torya are excited. They discuss how the ending of 2018 was. They discuss being very close to being homeless. Mike says that's what upsets him about people who blame homeless people for not having a home. He says that a client owed them close to $10,000 and hadn't paid. Mike discusses the change in The Web Scientists and how it is going to be split up into multiple different companies. He says he hasn't had to write much code in the past year or so. He is going to become a Virtual CTO, helping companies with their technology. He can handle all aspects of a business' technology needs. It seemed horrible at first, but Mike decided that all he had to do was edit that content and then add to it as appropriate. Mike mentions the goals for Q1. He is going to release 2 books in Q1. Mike announces that he is extending The Zoo Media Network promotion through the end of January and is sweetening the deal by giving them a free copy of one of his books when it is released. Torya describes her plans for her virtual assistant business. She discusses the need to work with a niche. Mike gives some tips. He says don't have resolutions because they are useless. He says you need to have goals. He says break those goals down into smaller goals so they are achievable and keep you motivated. Mike says he thinks having a niche is a good idea. Mike finishes up the show by inviting podcasters to join Yogi's Podcast Network. He explains again why now is the best time to join the network. Mike announces some changes to Fitness Freedom.

The show opens with a rant about someone from the train station struggling to find a parking spot. There is a description of the engagement with the loon at the train station. Train lunatics are very special people. Mike then rants about the double standard the media has towards Trump. They call him a horrible person for doing exactly the same things Obama did. Why? How come Obama isn't also a “horrible person” for doing those same things? Mike says that when you look at a leader you should remove their personality from the situation and focus solely on the policies they profess to believe in. Mike says that if we are wrong we shouldn't get snarky. We should deal with the facts, not the personality. You have to be able to separate your bias from the facts. When you do that, you are able to properly assess a situation.

Mike says that when you are an entrepreneur, you don't realize the holidays are upon you. Torya says that this sets a precedent. She agrees with the rules the White House has now set up. Mike says he thinks the White House should be allowed to limit who gets to speak. Hating Trump is not a world view. Torya asks what this is distracting us from. She feels it is far too trivial. They are both upset that this took precedence over the shooting in Thousand Oaks. Mike describes his time at the As I Lay Dying concert.

Mike and Torya open the show talking about Odie and how he was adopted two weeks prior to the recording of this episode. They both say he has adjusted well and is extremely happy with his new mommy. Mike brings up skinny, athletic Mitchell and his request to attend the gym with Mike starting in 2019. He has been going to some running lessons. He is already seeing major improvements in his running. Marijuana is legal in Canada, but there is a shortage of weed. They were surprised by how much demand there was going to be. Torya says that people trying to enter the United States are being banned when they admit they've smoked marijuana. This is because marijuana is still illegal in the United States. This leads to a discussion of duty on products brought into other countries. Mike rants about the need for compromise in society.

Mike recounts the issue between Jim Acosta and President Trump. He discusses the situation at length. There is a claim that the video of the incident was doctored. Mike's opinion is that Jim Acosta was banned, not CNN. Couldn't CNN send another reporter? Doesn't the White House have the right to say he doesn't want Jim Acosta at press conferences? Mike then goes into a discussion of the zoo. He points out how sensitive cats are to things that change in their environment. Dogs are pretty easy, but cats not so much.

Apparently, there was a joint effort between the United States, Canada and India to bust scammers. Many were arrested in this sting operation. Torya says she doesn't understand how people even fall for this scam. Mike describes how they handle the scam and why he agrees with Torya. Mike says that up to the purchase of the Target gift card it is potentially possible to fall for it. The reason they are discussing this is that Torya was once again called by a scammer. Once again it is the credit card scammers who contacted her. Torya describes the call and how she handled it. They have a rant about privatizing many things the government do, specifically airports. They agree that rates would go down.

It is the day after the election and there are still close to 500,000 votes left to count. Mike discusses how he checked and his ballot was already counted. No blue wave, no red wave, just a rainbow wave based upon the results. Mike discusses how this is pretty normal for mid-term elections. He says these results are good for Trump. Mike discusses Jeff Sessions resigning from his position as Attorney General. This has lead to speculation about what Trump will do with the special counsel and the investigation into collusion. This leads to a discussion about the laws surrounding terminating people. They discuss the differences between the US and Canada. The laws are apparently quite similar. Odie has been adopted and will be with Mike and Torya for another day and then he goes to his forever home. Mike discusses The Buena Park News, a new local news site. They then get into a long discussion about how Buena Park City Council Districts were drawn. Apparently it is split by equal number of residents, not registered voters. Torya points out that in Canada you get automatically registered to vote based upon your last place you filed income taxes. She says this makes the voter rolls more accurate.

Mike starts out saying that he sees turbulent water on both sides, but no wave of any color. He had hoped one side or the other would win convincingly so they would have some sort of a mandate. Torya says that most of the races are 50/50. She says Mike's usual theory that the initial votes are usually correct, might be wrong this time. Mike is very disappointed with the results of the Cypress School District ballot measure. He felt the opposition used nothing but conjecture to convince voters and it seems to have worked. Torya points out how people like to place blame and how wrong that it is to place blame. This leads Mike to point out how personal attacks were used against the proponent of the ballot measure (him) rather than discussing the merits of the measure. Mike points out that both sides have facts that support their side of the issue. He says the facts alone should determine the outcome. Mike states that people are changing the definitions of things midstream. They next discuss straight ticket votes.

Mike opens the show talking about martial arts movies where the master has some advice for the student. He refers to the student as “grassshopper“. This leads to a story about the grasshopper that was in Mike's car. Mike tells the story of getting the grasshopper out of the car. Hilarity ensued. Mike describes Deputy Dunkin and what he does daily. He also describes Odie's attempts to climb over the fence Torya put in place for Dunkin.

Why do people lie? Torya says it is because they are stupid. Mike says that lying online is dumb because most people are 6 degrees of separation away from each other. He mentions the Kevin Bacon 6 Degrees of Separation game. One conclusion is ignorance is one reason why people lie. Mike says he is talking about bald-faced lies where the person is clearly aware of the fact they are lying. He says you can count on people to do exactly one thing–think about themselves. People tend to think they are experts on things because of people they know or are related to who ARE experts in a given area. Mike says that if you cannot verify this, you have to accept what people say. Intelligent people know how to talk their way through things.

Social media can be very difficult for businesses because as a business, you must entertain the crazy people for at least a minute. On a personal account, blocking them immediately isn't an issue. Torya rants about people who message The Web Scientists about doing social media for them, something the company itself already does. Torya continues to rant about various social media things. Mike says that if men can walk around topless, women should be allowed to do so as well. He discusses the stupid stars women put on their nipples on Instagram photos.
