The Nightly Rant

Torya opens the show claiming she fired her favorite virtual assistant, Hannah. Mike says it is awkward since Hannah is there on the show. Mike says Hannah was not fired. Torya says she would pull her hair out if Hannah was fired. Hannah is from Belize. It is located in Central America. It is the only English-speaking Central American country. It is south of Mexico and east of Guatemala. Hannah gives the history of Belize in a "non-school" manner. Mike teases Torya about her black clothing. Mike recounts when he was in 2nd grade and sassed the teacher about Columbus "discovering" America. They discover that Columbus Day is celebrated both in the USA and Belize. Mike asks why it is so difficult to pay people in Belize electronically. Hannah says the jaguar would say Torya is its people. Hannah relates a time she felt she was going to be fired. Mike asks if Hannah's brother wants a job since all her sisters are employed by them as well. They banter about work things and what about work annoys them.

Mike says he is irritated with hypocrites. He doesn't like that when someone talks crap about him and he turns it around on them, they get upset about it. He wants to know why its OK for them to say things that are entirely false, yet say something true about them and suddenly it is YOU who is the horrible person. Mike discusses "Lisa", a woman who is exercising her First Amendment rights to oppose Mike online. The problem is she spends much of the time just flat out lying about Mike and hiding behind the First Amendment. Mike is clearly angry. He rants about "Lisa's" comments. He rants about his court case. He rants about the aftermath of the court case.

Mike announces the adoption of Bree, the puppy they were fostering. They proceed to discuss Bree and her personality. Mike starts a rant about the political situation with the impeachment inquiry of Trump. Mike's rant turns its attention on the Whistleblower statute and how it was changed for political purposes. The discussion turns to the Australian Prime Minister's letter about Trump NOT pressuring them.

Mike opens the show announcing the adoption of Bree, their former foster dog. They banter about the dog and her potential names. Mike transitions into a discussion about people and their way of seeing things. He feels people have replaced the truth with an opinion. Mike rants about how people think their opinions are always right. He argues that opinions can definitely be wrong. Mike asks if opinions are facts? Torya says it is because people are stupid. Torya says that there must be some lack of education. Torya explains how Mike handles discussions. She says Mike hammers them with the facts. She says this makes people defensive. They then rant about how people try to shove their opinion onto others as though they are fact. Various aspects of opinions are discussed.

The show opens with Mike discussing the fact he is picking up a puppy for a foster. Torya mentions the rescue picked up 9 dogs. Mike says this will be the first female foster. Mike introduces Lucia Giovannini, a former international Italian supermodel, author of 13 books and she transforms audiences through her speaking. She is a passionate animal rights person. Mike discusses their fosters and how they treat them. This leads to Lucia discussing how she advocates for animals. She has an organization in Italy called United for the Little Ones. She explains exactly what they do and it is amazing! They discuss some issues they've had with foster dogs and explain how wonderful the rescue is with those dogs. They discuss how rewarding all of this is. Lucia gives her take on animals and how they interact with humans. Lucia describes how she helps people make change in their lives.

Mike says Diego has grown on him while Torya says Mike is in love with him. Mike rants about how awesome Diego is. Mike starts into the discussion of The Family Chantel. Mike says that Diego reminds him of Pedro's sister. Mike begins to explain the outline of the latest episode that takes place in the Dominican Republic. MIke does his interpretation of Karen Everett. They go into a discussion about the argument that happened due to Pedro's poor translation abilities. Somehow they sidetrack to 90 Day Fiance. They transition back to discussing The Family Chantel and what happens when they actually hire a professional translator. They note that things were much better.

Mike opens the show talking about his new addiction. He then gets mad that Torya doesn't ask what that addiction is. Torya reveals that Mike is now a scambait loving freak. Mike discusses why he loves these scambait videos. Mike loves the videos where the guy deletes their files and Torya has her reasons for not liking that as much. Mike says he now knows how these scammers pulled things off. He says it answers a bunch of questions, but creates a bunch more questions. Mike rants about the scammers and how they get taken advantage of by the scambaiters.

Mike says Torya is a troublemaker. Torya claims she is a trouble solver. This discussion happens because Torya served a lawsuit on a City Council member who never paid her campaign worker. The topic today is whiney people...people you'd never expect to be so whiney. They talk about people who let others define who they are. Mike doesn't understand these people at all. Mike points out that one's perspective defines what you see. Mike again points out that disagreeing doesn't make people enemies. Torya says people making statements generally believe they are right. Torya wants to know when it became wrong to disagree with someone. Mike wants to know what would happen if people expressed their opinion and then allowed others to react without responding back. Both he and Torya feel this would show what the right idea really is. Mike says that not voting means your opinion is not getting considered and that's a bad thing.

Mike explains what he means by Authentic Anger (or intellectual anger). Mike says that he has a son who is a sophomore in high school and he uses words to the extreme. He says it so many times that you want to kill him. Most times his son doesn't even know what the word means. Mike says he would rather that happen at home than in public. Mike again points out that you could have 20 opinions about 20 things and Mike could disagree on 5 of them. That doesn't make you enemies. He says this is why you can't be authentic with people in society. Mike mentions an organized religion that forced its members to answer using the written articles they provided. It was clearly brainwashing. Brian relates this to a church he knows of. Torya talks about Pastafarians. Mike and Brian discuss sports and why people get so confused by the rules of different sports. Mike discusses how Brian doesn't care for cussing. Brian has asked that they do their best to keep it clean, but allows them to do their thing. Brian is authentic in Mike's eyes and that is a key thing for Mike and Torya. Brian says intentions is what makes a word bad. Brian talks about the Flagstaff hotel employee and how he was once that guy and failed his customers.

Mike makes Torya discuss how she recently fired a client. Mike introduces Brian Little from Your Favorite Blockhead to join them in the discussion. Torya explains how she was constantly blamed for things she had no access to. Mike says the client made him angry as well. Torya tells about a final text she received from this client. Brian feels like he has to say that the feud with Torya is all in fun, but is it really? Mike explains his take on Torya's situation. Mike explains that the dude replaced Torya. Apparently that replacement lasted 12 hours in total. Torya describes the aftermath, including the client telling people he fired Torya. Brian says what Mike was feeling is Authentic Rage. Mike loves the term. Torya says she called this guy a Dick Weasel. Mike and Brian laugh about that word. Brian tells the story of his daughter watching TikTok videos. Brian explains how he feels people act on podcasts is their true persona because they get to let their hair down. Mike explains why authenticity is important to him. Part 1 ends with Brian talking about how middle school kids "listen" to teachers.

Mike and Torya open the show ranting about automation on social media. Jackson Horn chimes in before he is even introduced. Mike introduces Jackson. Mike calls Jackson out for not understanding what he means by automation. He explains what he means and gives some examples. Jackson explains what's been going on with him. He describes the changes going on in his life. Mike explains why he thinks being a good parent is difficult. He says parents have to avoid the urge to control their children. Jackson explains why he no longer supports President Trump. Mike tries to narrow down Jackson's reasons for not supporting Trump, but cannot get a clear answer.

Mike opens the show by saying The Family Chantel gets craizer the more he watches the show. Torya points out that Chantel is just as crazy. Mike explains what happened with Winter and Jah during this episode. Apparently Karen and Chantel visited the same private investigator who investigated Pedro. They discovered he has a 9-year old son that Winter knows nothing about. They confront Jah about this issue. Mike doesn't like how they handled the issue. Mike and Torya describe why they think Jah handled the issue very wrong. They don't understand why he didn't talk to Winter about this because he told her about his other child. Mike rants about fairness.

Mike discusses his extremely long day and explains why it was so long. They transition into talking more about their vacation to Arizona. They describe their trip to the Grand Canyon. They talk about how reasonable the price of entry was. They discuss Bearizona and how expensive it was. Mike says the Grand Canyon was the most beautiful place he has ever seen.

Mike asks Torya where they went on vacation. Torya tells everyone they went to Flagstaff, Arizona. They discuss their absolute favorite part of their vacation. The discussion turns to the details of the trip. They describe some issues they encountered while on vacation. They explain the great aspects of this vacation. Mike explains why he might never be able to live in Flagstaff. Torya makes fun of Mike's reasons for not thinking he could live in Flagstaff.

Mike says it has been 2 days back at school for the kids. He says that the vacation is so much shorter than it was when he was in high school. The discussion goes to why Mike and Torya don't work with friends any longer. He discusses a specific situation. The bottom line is that things tend to go wrong and friendships get ruined.

Mike asks Torya about her snake issue. Torya explains what occurred at the AirBNB apartment. Mike rants about trolls on Facebook (again). This leads into a discussion about the newest episode of The Family Chantel. Mike talks about how crazy both families are. The discussion leads to how Chantel was the original cause of the problems by lying to her family. Both of them agree that Pedro should have discussed his plans with Chantel before dropping the bomb on her in counseling. His approach, while understandable, caused a huge argument and caused his in-laws to trust him even less.

Mike opens the show talking about their new foster dog, Diego. They then discuss a fundraiser they attended called Quartermania. They move on to the issue of mental health as it relates to the recent mass shootings. They both agree that it is one of the biggest areas for improvement in the US system. Mike then discusses his interaction with the people of Facebook on this issue. He is extremely disappointed in how dismissive people are about this particular issue. It is cause for concern according to Mike.

Mike rants about the show "The Family Chantel" in a new segment for The Nightly Rant. He talks about how Chantel is the cause of all the problems in her relationship with Pedro. She lied to her parents at the start. Mike describes how looney her family is. He also talks about how crazy Pedro's family is as well. Mike describes the incident where Chantel's family storms over to Pedro and Chantel's apartment after Chantel yet again reveals way too much about her relationship to her family. The family gets to the apartment and Pedro immediately asks them to leave. The mom, Karen, brings a tazer with her to the apartment. Hilarity ensues as Pedro tries to grasp what the hell is going on.

The show opens about a scenario Mike wants to discuss regarding a criminal and an accomplice. Mike asks how law enforcement should handle the accomplice if the accomplice claims to have nothing to do with the crime. The discussion degrades into a discussion (yet again) about people who belittle you during a conversation. Mike gives his opinion on why that happens. He reiterates his own feelings on the issue of disagreeing with people.

The CheeWee was on television! He was on Home & Family on July 9, 2019. He is the third foster dog to go on TV. Mike says that humans just love drama and that it doesn't matter what group you're in (family, friends, etc.) and you find drama follows you everywhere. Mike says that he gets accused of being a drama starter (a reference to the Clueless Community member in TNR263). Mike can't understand why people like to be in the midst of drama all the time. He says it is exhausting. They decide all people like drama.

The show opens with a discussion of a visit to an outdoor movie. Mike says it is the first one he's ever been to. They discuss the fact that an earthquake happened as the movie began. The itneresting aspect is that this was Jurassic Park, so they both think it would have been funny had the earthquake happened when the T-rex had arrived on screen. They transition to "the big one" and what that means. Mike discusses how the engineering of the buildings are these days that they easily withstand a strong earthquake. They eventually discuss having multiple foster dogs and what that does to their day.

Mike and Torya explain the situation at hand. A community member from Facebook is upset with Mike. The backstory is simple. This community member had some concerns about a community group administrator and wanted Mike to lead the charge in handling it the way she wanted. Mike didn't make it his #1 priority, so she has blocked Mike and Torya on Facebook and is now bad mouthing both of them on Facebook. She makes claims that can easily be proven false because her entire set of comments to Mike were recorded in wiriting in Facebook messenger. Mike and Torya discuss all the crazy nuances of situations like this and get to the core of the issue, which is that people will simply believe anything they want about you and therefore, you should never worry what others think about you. Finally, they touch on fireworks and how people push the limits of their ability to get away with it.

Mike complains it seems they never go too long without an extra dog. Mike discusses their attendance at the Los Angeles County Libertarian Party convention. Mike introduces Joy Malek Mike asks about circuitous conversations. Mike questions the validity of these tests. Joy explains that it all depends upon how the test is designed. Joy explains why she focuses on the INFJ personality type Joy discusses the behind the scenes things that make INFJ personality types unique Joy explains why she believes why Mike uses introverted intuition. Joy explains how the personality types interactt Joy responds to Mike's problem with how people process information Mike explains how he uses terminology differently depending upon who he is speaking to.

Sammy is gone. He was adopted. Mike says Sammy's personality is a clone of Yogi's personality. Mike and Torya discuss how the people ranting about AirBNB in their neighborhood don't seem to realize they are already experiencing the same exact problems. Mike says they are offended the people are making money. Mike questions whether or not a motel/hotel is just exactly like an AirBNB.

Dr. John says hypnotherapy can benefit people by helping them change habits they have ingrained in them. Dr. John says television and movies don't accurately represent hypnosis. This includes massive lies. The two laugh at the behavior exhibited.

Mike opens the show discussing what happened in the NHL hockey game The Beans is getting adopted! Mike says he thought social media was to connect with other people Torya rants about someone she tried to connect with on LinkedIn Mike breaks down the comment from the potential LinkedIn connection Mike says he thinks this person is just stupid as they don't seem to grasp the situation at all Mike says it drives him crazy to have people tell him he didn't experience the thing he actually experienced himself. Mike says that people are far too sensitive today Mike's opinion is that the woman didn't understand the communication with Torya at all.

First day at the new office for Mike and Torya Mike rants about the cats and the cat tree Torya discusses interactions with the cats. Mike opines that a dumb cat is about as smart as a smart dog. Mike says Olive is a cyborg–she is not that affectionate. They discuss how the dogs ask for food. Mike asks if it is possible to find someone innocent after hearing a confession from them that was very clear and concise. Mike rants about bail and the entire legal system.

Mike announces it was the move-in day. They discuss their new office. They discuss the Central Park 5. Mike explains how parents miss things with their kids. They discuss how schools shame parents into doing certain things.

Mike asks if Torya has ever registered for a webinar she never intended to attend just so she can watch the replay. They discuss how that works. Mike wonders why people say cats are more intelligent than dogs. He rants about the fact that the cats are annoyed by the brand new cat tree. Torya explains that cats trust nothing. Everything and everyone is suspicious. Torya tells the story about the Seal Beach police adopting a dog from the Seal Beach Animal Shelter. Mike talks about how it takes a lot to make him angry. They debate whether or not there is a “reasonable” grudge. Mike says that when you approach a situation by allowing people to do what they want, things go more smoothly. Mike says he does not hold grudges. Mike doesn't understand why someone who disagrees is a bully. Mike says he tends to not argue unless he is fairly certain he is correct. Mike doesn't like being pushed to the point where he eventually feels mean.

Mike announces that Beans is a genius. Mike and Torya discuss the teenagers being out of school for the summer. They discuss the Wallows concert they attended at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood. They both felt the Wallows were much better in concert than on recorded music. The cats have discovered the box containing the new cat tree. They discuss the competitiveness between the teenagers. They talk about the abortion uprising happening. They both think this will be squashed at the federal government level.

Mike describes their return guest. Brian Little chimes in to give his own introduction. Brian doesn't like WWE. Mike discusses how he used to love professional wrestling. Brian relates a story about when he coached wrestling. Mike opines that it is very strange that in sports, the mistakes the officials make are usually on plays that are not reviewable. Brian wants to address standardized testing. Mike asks Brian to address standardized testing, but to also address how teachers should be evaluated. Brian says that students are too diverse for standardized testing. He points out the issues that happen with standardized testing. Brian mentions Frank Deangelis and his feelings about standardized testing. Mike feels the people pushing the standardized tests are disconnected from what is going on. Brian says that teachers should be assessed by how well his lesson plan is. He wants the administrators to do a hands-on evaluation. Mike rants about society and how they misunderstand things that are so simple.

Mike says that 42 years ago he was moved to Lakewood, Colorado. Mike talks about being bullied by the kids in Colorado. Mike says it is not OK for people to bully others. Mike says he is a very sarcastic person and that doesn't translate well into the written word. Mike calls out people for being hypocrites. Mike rants about people forcing others to do things. Mike rants about all the things that are NOT bullying.

Mike and Torya explain why it has been so busy. They discuss the fact that they served the recall notice on Sunny Park. They address the “famous homeless advocate” who confronted MIke after he served the recall. Mike speaks to Brian Little about merch. Mr. Beans gets a shout out for doing so well at his obedience class.

Mike spent the entire morning working from Starbucks. He describes his experience as compared to their co-working experience. Torya says that Mike's experience is exactly why they looked for a co-working place. This leads to a discussion of what constitutes co-working to some people. They describe their experience in locating for a place to work. Mike says that the library is similar to co-working, but you can't take phone calls or video conferences at a library. Mike and Torya open the show discussing their elevator partner that morning. Torya says their partner in the elevator cannot stand either of them. Torya says that the elevator partner dropped a bunch of discarded pork rinds on the ground in front of the mailboxes. Mike introduces today's guest, AdaPia D'errico. AdaPia discusses the backlash from her viral video. Mike discusses his past marriage and why he stuck it out for as long as he did. AdaPia talks about intentions and why people are so judgmental. AdaPia says it is possible to think about yourself and not be self-entitled. She says that when you get what you need, the entire experience in life improves. Mike talks about how he and Torya handle “alone time” AdaPia says that when you're in a relationship, it is like looking into a mirror. Mike opens the show stating that he posted an episode of Liberty Revealed on the Huntington Beach Facebook page. Mike rants about the people bashing the Liberty Revealed episode. Mike explains that these children attack a school board member on a regular basis. Mike provides a neutral recommendation for the said school board member. Mike compares the situation to what he went through. Mike rants about people who don't pay attention. Mike says that he is sick of Facebook because the discussions continually go off the rails. Buena Park has 85000 citizens while the combined population of Cypress, La Palma, and Los Alamitos is 75000. Mike then rants about idiots from Facebook who intentionally insult others. Mike rants about some of the “solutions” for the homeless problem. Mike says Dr. Drew's homeless solution is dead wrong. Mike debunks the idea that the homeless are there because they choose to be. Mike points out that taxpayers are already paying for the homeless. Mike discusses his concept of “rock bottom”

Mike opens the show announcing that Beans, the foster mutt, is going to manners class. Mike introduces Patrick Young. Patrick told his story about his encounters with the homeless. Mike and Patrick agree that the timing of receiving help is critical for the homeless. Patrick gets personal about homelessness. Mike responds to Patrick and explains his own plan for ending homelessness. Mike's plan: Transitional housing (homeless shelter) Get them paperwork ready by helping them get identification Permanent assistive housing Alfresco Gardens — mobile home park-type place Police intervention of those left on the streets Mike explains that his plan is aimed at letting the police do their job. Mike and Patrick discuss how to help the homeless. Mike asks Patrick if rock bottom is different for everyone and opines that being in a shelter could be rock bottom for many homeless people. Mike points out the government is to blame here. Mike explains the homeless issue directly affects the personal liberty of citizens. Patrick discusses conflict he's had with a homeless person. Mike says he believes the stories he hears, but the stories themselves do nothing to help the situation.

Mike discusses how he has been sharing every episode all over social media. Mike introduces the guest, Abe Abdelhadi. Mike talks about his experiences with Rod Stewart. Abe goes on about how Democrats are losing their minds. Abe says Democrats always blame everyone else when they lose. Abe advocates eliminating the Electoral College Abe says people can't talk about politics without losing their mind. Mike says eliminating the Electoral College will bring corruption to the process. Abe says people love to blame third parties for the outcome of elections.

Mike wonders what day it is. Torya says that Ruben was the first person to reach out on Instagram to be a guest. Ruben states he found Mike and Torya at Politicon. Ruben says he followed Mike and Torya around Politicon for about 4 hours on one of the days. He says they ignored him. They don't recall seeing him at all. Mike explains that he was shocked Trump became president. He explains how he told Torya Trump would disappear, but never did. Ruben says he predicted a Donald Trump presidency in 2011. Ruben thinks Biden can win the nomination, but won't win. Ruben doesn't align with any party. Ruben explains what he sees wrong with our system. Ruben discusses why he feels negotiation is the approach that should be used in Washington DC. Mike says he thinks he and Torya are the only two who don't want Game of Thrones. Ruben says he is the third. Ruben says he doesn't watch shows like this because he gets tired of hearing people talk about it. Ruben explains he likes to watch things when he is ready. Ruben discusses the ending of How I Met Your Mother. He says that people were upset because they invested a lot of their lives into that show. Binge watching makes you not be as invested. Ruben and Torya discuss Friends. Mike suggests Matthew Perry looks the way he does due to his substance abuse problem. Torya says Game of Thrones is 100% her thing, but the hype makes her avoid it. Mike discusses he and Torya's “Three Strike Television Show System” Ruben asks what shows surprised them Ruben agrees the Democrats are giving Trump another 4 years. Ruben discusses the Democrat field of candidates.

Mike opens the show stating he is upset because, once again, the same people are opposing the new location of the homeless shelter. This leads to a long rant about the topic of people opposing homelessness. Mike then introduces Jackson Horn, today's guest. Jackson thanks Mike and Torya for having him on a podcast. He says he never thought he belonged on a podcast. Mike listens to Jackson's speech and then tells him that he and Torya aren't sure Jackson should be on a podcast either. Jackson wants to talk about mental health. Jackson lets Mike and Torya know he is probably moving to Colorado. Jackson talks about mistakes Jackon rants about depression Jackson says everything about life is a task you have to complete.
