"Top Gun: Maverick" has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time since its release earlier this year. Now, the film is a bonafide Oscar contender for multiple categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Tom Cruise), and many of its craft categories. One Oscar race where it's been the frontrunner for almost the entire season has been in Best Original Song for Lady Gaga's "Hold My Hand." "EO" had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it stunned audiences with its stripped-down story of following a donkey through modern-day Poland, winning the Jury Prize. "The Menu" had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and is now playing in theaters from Searchlight Pictures. The film stars an ensemble cast of characters played by Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Janet McTeer, Judith Light, and John Leguizamo, among others, who dine at the fine cuisine restaurant of world-renowned chef Julian Slowik, played by Ralph Fiennes. "All That Breathes" had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize in World Cinema Documentary Competition and then played at the Cannes Film Festival later this year, where it won the Golden Eye award for the best documentary, becoming the first film ever to win both prizes. It was later screened at the New York Film Festival, is now playing in limited release, and has been nominated for two Critics Choice Documentary Awards: Best Cinematography and Best Science/Nature Documentary. It's one of the most strikingly beautiful and memorable documentaries of the year as it follows Mohammad Saud and Nadeem Shehzad, who rescue and treat injured birds in New Delhi, commenting on the state of global warming and how it's impacting our ecosystems.
