THE JEREMIAH SHOW - Featuring Jef Scott! The story of a rock and roll legend. Jef Scott's story is that of LA rock and roll lore...Strap in! Jef's first band was GEISHA. They played the Sunset Strip and toured the U.S.A. After he left GEISHA, Jef formed his own band. After playing a show one night at The Whiskey, he met actor Willie Aames who attended Jef’s show. Willie was a teen idol star from the ABC show called EIGHT IS ENOUGH. Willie asked Jef to write songs for an upcoming album he was about to make and their recording sessions ultimately landed Jef to act in the last season of EIGHT IS ENOUGH as Willie’s best friend and bandmate. Jef played on Tori Amos’ LITTLE EARTHQUAKES, international artists James Reyne( Australia), Paul Hyde (Canada), Gregory Gray (Ireland), The Royal Macadamians, and Olivia Newton-John, to name a few. When Jef wrote songs and recorded James Reyne’s album, James invited Jef to be his musical director and put a band together in Australia. Jef moved to Melbourne in late 1987, founded a great band including Andy Cichon (current bass player for Billy Joel), and toured the whole country of Australia for two years. In Australia, Jef formed a band called COMPANY OF STRANGERS. It was and still is one of the most successful albums in Australian history, winning Simon and Jef 3 ARIA Awards. Jef is signed to Sony/Orchard and continues to release new music. Be grateful for both. – Anonymous Acclaimed Hawai’i-born ‘ukulele player Jake Shimabukuro released Grateful, his most personal project to date, featuring twenty-two collaborations with a who’s who of Hawaiian music royalty, from Henry Kapono to Kawika Kahiapo, Brother Noland to Raiatea Helm, John Feary to Bryan Tolentino and John Cruz to Kimié Miner. Recorded over three-and-a-half years, Grateful is a coming home for Shimabukuro, and his first time recording an album with all Hawaii-based artists. With a literal who’s who of Hawai'i-based musicians, this collection of songs is performed live, in the studio with Shimabukuro’s friends, contemporaries, mentors, and heroes - all kanikapila style in a return to his roots. Grateful is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed duets album with artists from Willie Nelson, Ziggy Marley, and Bette Midler to Jimmy Buffett, Jack Johnson, and Kenny Loggins. It was these collaborations that inspired him to go back to the beginning and play with the musicians who first inspired him as he was growing up in Hawai`i. A multi-instrumentalist who strums the guitar plays the cello, and writes her own string arrangements. But above all else, Emily Duff has been — and always will be — a songwriter. "If you ain't composing, you're decomposing," she says. "I like to keep myself moving and keep myself writing. I usually write one song a day. It's been that way for years." Duff’s songs emphatically nod to the sounds that first captivated her attention as a child during the 1970s. The album had a higher chart placing than any of the Youngblood albums and stayed on the charts longer than any other album he currently created. THE ARWEN LEWIS SHOW - Today Arwen welcomes Robert LaRoche Robert began performing professionally at age 15. Originally from Holyoke, Massachusetts, LaRoche formed Power Pop sensations The Sighs in 1982. After 10 years of touring the college club circuit of New England, the Sighs were signed to Virgin Records and released their debut CD “What Goes On” in 1992. The disc received fantastic reviews and the single “Think About Soul” was a staple on “Modern Rock” radio charts throughout the Summer of 1992. The band toured America extensively with such acts as The Spin Doctors and The Gin Blossoms. The band disbanded in 1996 and LaRoche moved on to his next career as lead guitarist and co-writer for Austin, Texas singer Patricia Vonne. Miss Vonne has released seven critically acclaimed CDs on the independent label Bandolera Records and has toured Europe numerous times where they have built a loyal and ever-growing fan base. LaRoche and Vonne also performed at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in 2013, where they were awarded the critic's pick for “Best Live Performance” LaRoche’s song craft is based firmly on American roots music. Influenced by Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, and the aforementioned Everly Brothers, each track on LaRoche’s “Patient Man” is filled with endlessly memorable hooks, bathed in a warm and honest production. The Sighs regrouped in the Summer Of 2016 to record for the first time in two decades. The subsequent release Wait On Another Day came out on NYC indie label Omad Records In November 2017. The disc received glowing reviews internationally. In July 2019, Austin singer-songwriter LaRoche released “A Thousand Shades”. This six-song EP is bursting with irresistible hooks and LaRoche’s signature harmonies and mesmerizing vocals. Backed by many of Austin’s top Musicians, “A Thousand Shades” takes the listener on a journey of love and heartbreak, with a silver lining of redemption. In September 2023, LaRoche will release his new 10-song CD “Forevermore” Produced by Oscar-winning songwriter John DeNicola.
