Grateful is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed duets album with artists from Willie Nelson, Ziggy Marley, and Bette Midler to Jimmy Buffett, Jack Johnson, and Kenny Loggins. It was these collaborations that inspired him to go back to the beginning and play with the musicians who first inspired him as he was growing up in Hawai`i. Emily Duff has spent her career blurring the lines between rock & roll, soul, roadhouse country, and punk. She's been a solo artist. A bandmate. A multi-instrumentalist who strums the guitar plays the cello, and writes her own string arrangements. But above all else, Emily Duff has been — and always will be — a songwriter. "If you ain't composing, you're decomposing," she says. "I like to keep myself moving and keep myself writing. I usually write one song a day. It's been that way for years." Duff’s songs emphatically nod to the sounds that first captivated her attention as a child during the 1970s. Raised in Queens and Long Island, she gravitated toward the era's roots legends and soul singers: Kris Kristofferson, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Al Green, and countless others. Don't Let Go turns that rich tapestry of sound into fuel for something original, with Duff delivering a collection of heartland rock anthems, folksongs, barn burners, gothic murder ballads, soulful love songs, and everything in between. She's a street-smart New Yorker who traded mix tapes with Lou Reed during her 20s and struck up a musical partnership with Gary Lucas, the experimental guitarist who performed with Captain Beefheart's Magic Band before launching his project, Gods and Monsters. When the band's original lead singer, Jeff Buckley, left the lineup to launch his meteoric solo career, Duff stepped in as his replacement. Before long, she'd left that band and formed another group, Eudora, whose mix of Americana instrumentation and baroque textures earned them a gig opening for Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. From the stage of CBGB’s — where she played her first show — to the confines of her 340 square foot Greenwich Village tenement apartment where she is happily raising her two teenage children and hound dog with her husband, Emily Duff has never been afraid to chase her muse into uncharted territory. By the age of 13, he started writing his songs and throughout his teenage years, he performed in local cover bands. He moved to LA and started a band called “MissionaryS". They secured a recording deal with Reality Records. After the MissionaryS broke up, he did session work at the famed Sunset Sound recording studio in Hollywood. He toured with Island Records recording artist- folk singer PHRANC. He also recorded with former Ramones band member Ritchie Ramone. He joined Irish singer Annmarie Cullen’s band as her bass player and co-writer on several of her songs including her hit “Ashes”. His latest EP is getting played on a lot of indie stations across the country. The songs “Plain Sight “ and ”Shattered Glass “have scored a couple of number one on some top 10 Indie radio lists in New York and LA. “Plain Sight “reached number five on the top 75 list a couple of weeks ago. “Shattered Glass” reached number seven on the Top 75 Radio Indie Alliance network. After winning the televised singing contest “3 Minutes to Stardom”, Antonel quit her job to focus full-time on music. The all-new version is available on all streaming platforms as well as extremely limited-edition vinyl. This album is the fourth solo album by singer-songwriter and former Youngblood. The album had a higher chart placing than any of the Youngblood albums and stayed on the charts longer than any other album he currently created. Several of the songs include stories about Young's Ridgetop home in Northern California. THE ARWEN LEWIS SHOW - Today Arwen welcomes Robert LaRoche Robert began performing professionally at age 15. Originally from Holyoke, Massachusetts, LaRoche formed Power Pop sensations The Sighs in 1982. After 10 years of touring the college club circuit of New England, the Sighs were signed to Virgin Records and released their debut CD “What Goes On” in 1992. The disc received fantastic reviews and the single “Think About Soul” was a staple on “Modern Rock” radio charts throughout the Summer of 1992. The band toured America extensively with such acts as The Spin Doctors and The Gin Blossoms. The band disbanded in 1996 and LaRoche moved on to his next career as lead guitarist and co-writer for Austin, Texas singer Patricia Vonne. Miss Vonne has released seven critically acclaimed CDs on the independent label Bandolera Records and has toured Europe numerous times where they have built a loyal and ever-growing fan base. LaRoche and Vonne also performed at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in 2013, where they were awarded the critic's pick for “Best Live Performance” LaRoche’s song craft is based firmly on American roots music. Influenced by Buddy Holly, Del Shannon, and the aforementioned Everly Brothers, each track on LaRoche’s “Patient Man” is filled with endlessly memorable hooks, bathed in a warm and honest production. The Sighs regrouped in the Summer Of 2016 to record for the first time in two decades. The subsequent release Wait On Another Day came out on NYC indie label Omad Records In November 2017. The disc received glowing reviews internationally. In July 2019, Austin singer-songwriter LaRoche released “A Thousand Shades”. This six-song EP is bursting with irresistible hooks and LaRoche’s signature harmonies and mesmerizing vocals. Backed by many of Austin’s top Musicians, “A Thousand Shades” takes the listener on a journey of love and heartbreak, with a silver lining of redemption. Remembering How It All Began...Opening Fleetwood's On Front Street We opened the restaurant in August 2012. I lived on the island for 9 months. For those 9 months, Maui was my home, and the people of Maui and Lahaina were my friends, and I felt, my family. I love them all… The valet guys were my friends, whom I saw every morning and every night when I came home from the restaurant. The guys behind the bar at Duke's, at the Honuakai, where I would go each night for dinner and have a drink after work I loved to laugh about the day with them. I owe a special debt of gratitude and love to Mike Butler and his wife Brenda. They picked up everything they owned to move to the rock and help open FoFS. And my good, dear friend, Eddie Bitton, designer. Ashley Leal, General Manager. Executive Chef, Eric Morrissette. And all of the little stores and restaurants that fed me and took care of me in Lahaina. I will never forget any of them or the kindness that they showed me when we all pitched in to help Mick create Fleetwood’s on Front Street. Mick, your dream became our dream. I hope that we made you proud. Fleetwood’s on Front Street was an iconic restaurant, a fitting tribute to the name on the door. Thank all of you who visited our restaurant and helped support the lives of the staff that live there. I appreciate you more than you know. Today Arwen Lewis welcomes musician George Adrian. George Adrian is a staple in the LA music scene. He's an Artist, Musician, and Composer. George Adrian accompanied Jerry Cantrell on bass for Jerry Cantrell's Brighten U.S. and European Tour (2022/2023). Originally from Chicago, George was chosen by Gene Simmons (KISS) for House of Lords before being tapped for Aragon (Arista Records). Moving on from Aragon, Adrian recorded an experimental instrumental album with partner Tyler Bates (Marilyn Manson / Film Composer). Most of those recordings made their way to Adam Rifkin’s cult classic Psycho Cop 2. This success led to further film opportunities including the feature film “Blue Flame” (Cassian Elwes). During breaks from the road, George formed a new band with a long-time friend and world-class drummer Alex Locascio. Alex suggested Audrey Wiechman for bass and vocals. The trio quickly became aware of their shared tastes and composed a dozen songs over the span of a few months. They are set to release their EP this fall. Finally, George Adrian and Peter Lewis (Moby Grape) will finish a 5-year collaboration that will culminate in a live album (untitled) of all new compositions with the legendary artist. Rounding out that project is Peter Lewis’ daughter Arwen Lewis. The multigenerational trio will be recording the EP live this summer in Solvang, CA.
