THE KIMI KATO SHOW with Jeremiah - Featuring Sincere from RYUSENKEI RYUSENKEI is a Japanese city music band consisting of Cunimondo Takiguchi and Sincere. Sincere joins us today on the show. The story of RYUSENKEI starts back in 2001 when Cunimondo Takiguchi [クニモンド瀧口]formed the band 流線形 “Ryusenkei.” The band's name was originally written in Japanese. It began as an exciting project, and by 2003, Cunimondo, alongside Takehiro Oshizuka [押塚岳大] and Yuzo Hayashi [林有三], released the mini album “CITY MUSIC,” featuring Tomomi Sano on vocals. Fast forward to 2006, Ryusenkei transformed into a solo project for Cunimondo, who dropped the album “TOKYO SNIPER” with Nica Eguchi [江口ニカ], also known as Hitomitoi [一十三十一]. It was highly rated amongst City Pop music fans and set the stage for their evolving sound. By 2009, Ryusenkei was back with Atsuko Hiyajo [比屋定篤子], releasing “NATURAL WOMAN.” And just when you thought they couldn’t get any more groundbreaking, 2019 saw them collaborating with Hitomitoi [一十三十一] again for “Talio,” the soundtrack for the NHK drama series “Talio Fukushu Daiko no Futari,” marking a new chapter in their musical journey. [NHK ドラマ「タリオ 復讐代行の2人」] In 2022, they released “Incomplete,” featuring Yasuyuki Horigome [堀込泰行], a former member of KIRINJI [exキリンジ], adding yet another layer to their rich sound. And here’s the exciting part—2024 brings a fresh start with singer-songwriter Sincere joining the group as an official member with a new name, “RYUSENKEI,” spelled out in English. Their latest album, “ILLUSIONS,” just dropped from Alfa Music and is already turning heads. With their innovative style and ever-evolving sound, RYUSENKEI is set to take the music world by storm again! THE JEREMIAH SHOW Featuring Isabella! The Gen Z generation, born between the late 1990s and early 2010s, is rewriting the rules of music consumption and redefining the music industry landscape. Gen Zs spend more time with music than the population, dedicating 40 minutes more daily. 93% of Gen Zs own a smartphone and spend 57% of their daily audio time listening to music on their phones. We thought it was time to bring in an expert teen music influencer. We are Introducing Isabella's Top Teen Tunes (TTT) to The Jeremiah Show weekly! Isabella describes her love for music this way: "I’m just a girl born in 2010 who grew up with the electric tunes of a 2000s pop-loving sister, two brothers who loved 90s hip-hop, a father who was a Hawaiian and Reggae aficionado, and a mother who enjoys every genre and musical era. My earliest musical memories are from when I was three. I was enchanted by the melodies of “The Phantom of the Opera” and “The Red Violin” and discovered a lifelong passion for all types of music. I look forward to presenting what I am listening to weekly in “Isabella’s Top Teen Tunes” while also paying special tribute to the diverse musical influences of my upbringing." -Isabella Every week on The Jeremiah Show. He is touring this summer with long-time collaborator Patricia Vonne. There is a guitarist rock god whose name is whispered in certain circles, in hopes that he will appear. THE MIKE GORMLEY SHOW - Featuring Ira Ingber & Steve Bartek - Premiering their new band "Baring All" Listen in while Mike Gormley catches up with his friends Ira Ingber and Steve Bartek and listens to tunes from their new band, “Baring All.” Conceived, developed, and inspired by their shared desires to journey on musical roads less traveled, their ever-growing body of work surprises, and challenges and ultimately rewards the listener. With countless years of both recording and live performances as individuals or together in such musically diverse contexts as Bob Dylan, Oingo Boingo, Brian Wilson, Captain Beefheart, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and Frank Sinatra (to name a few), Steve and Ira communicate nearly telepathically. Oftentimes it truly is telepathy. THE JEREMIAH SHOW - Featuring Pete Muller | Singer - Songwriter - Smokin' Piano Player Raised in New Jersey by hardworking immigrant parents, his mom was a nurse, and his dad was an engineer. Pete first began playing piano as a teenager. At Princeton University, he distinguished himself as a math wiz with a preternatural gift for numbers. Pete became fascinated with the connections between math and finance while working at a consulting firm headed up by a Zen Buddhist. He created a highly successful Wall Street Business and in the mid-2000s Pete returned to the piano and began composing with the same intensity he’d brought to his work on Wall Street. He busked in the subways, joined a weekly songwriters’ circle (which he would go on to host for five years), and even spent time studying at NYU’s Tisch School as he honed his craft, soaking up everything he could about the creative process from a broad range of artists and performers. After releasing a pair of early albums, he got married, moved to California, returned to the business he’d founded, and became a father, but the fire in his belly never went out, and in 2014, he returned to the studio to record his third album, "Two Truths and a Lie." Pete has 8 albums to his credit.
