THE KIMI KATO SHOW With Jeremiah - Featuring Jonathan Platt |GM A-List Media - Yoshiki

The Visual Kei (ヴィジュアル系, Vijuaru Kei) movement started in Japan in the 1980s, drawing inspiration from Western rock bands like KISS, David Bowie, and Queen. These artists' theatrical performances, elaborate costumes, and makeup resonated with Japanese artists seeking to break away from traditional POP music that dominated during that era. Characterized by varying levels of striking visuals, elaborate costumes, are often associated with bands that incorporate androgynous aesthetics and flamboyant fashion, often blending genres like rock, punk, goth, and metal. This fusion of Western and Japanese influences created a unique visual and musical style.
