Ep 240The Everyday Sniper Episode 239 1 Million Part 2, Spotting
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 239 1 Million Part 2, Spotting Here is part two of the 1 Million Downloads Episodes and we go into mega details on spotting for a precision rifle. Mike and I breakdown using your spotting scope, communicating with your shooter, and what we look at when we are behind a spotter. Shooting a precision is about more than just pressing the trigger. There are a host of other skills that go along with it and this is one important part of that. So, sit back, listen and enjoy the Everyday Sniper Podcast, 1 Millon Downloads can't be wrong. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing thanks for commenting in the App, Enjoy and wash your butts,
Ep 239The Everyday Sniper Episode 238 Milestones, 1 Million Downloads Part 1
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 238 Milestones, 1 Million Downloads Part 1 Thank you, listeners! We hit a huge milestone in the podcasting world. Over 1 Million Downloads have been served I feel like McDonald's here. Mike and I are really humbled to reach this milestone. We also start part one of the elements of the spotting. Between parts 1 and 2 we give a master class on using a spotter. We are not talking being a Range Officer at a match or a scorer, but actually spotting. Spotting a big part of the sport. We really go off on it. Again we really appreciate it. Thank again for sharing, commenting and being a supporter.
Ep 238The Everyday Sniper Episode 237 Finding Balance
EThe Everday Sniper Podcast Episode 237 Finding Balance in your Rifle System So I have a GAP / Manners PRS TCS Rifle chambered in 6GT here and it's pretty amazing to see where a competition rifle has gone. This is a 20LBS 6GT that just hammers and does not move. My first GAP Team Rifle from George came in at 10.7LBS with an S&B 5-25x, this one is 20LBS. The rifles just sit in the bags and on the tripod and don't move. Part of the accuracy equation in this system is the super light trigger. It takes some getting used to, but you can have proper trigger control with an evil light trigger, but you have to be vigilant. My question is, how do we balance a field or tactical rifle to take advantage of the innovations in a PRS rifle? What is the right trigger weight to rifle weight equation? It's something that hit me after shooting the rifles. Youtube Link Sniper's Hide Forum Thanks for listening, Thanks for sharing, and don't forget to comment.

Ep 237The Everyday Sniper Episode 236 Josh Kunz Patriot Valley Arms
The Everyday Sniper Episode 236 Josh Kunz Patriot Valley Arms In this episode, I interview Josh Kunz of Patriot Valley Arms. We have a nicely focused discussion on bullets and barrel technology. Mainly talking solid bullets as Josh has worked on several solids including the Warner Tool Flatlines, We go over the gains Josh is making to bring solids to every rifle instead of having to focus on the barrel technology paired with a solid. Solids are the future of precision rifle shooting, so discussing this technology is important to see where it started to where it is going. From here, the next part of the conversation transitions to barrels. Josh does great barrel work and has turned me on to the Paradigm Carbon Fiber barrels. So we have a nice discussion on those. Thanks to Josh for taking the time to talk. Thanks to all for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

Ep 236The Everyday Sniper Episode 235 Match Tips, FB Rants, War Machine Leather
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 235 Match Tips, FB Rants, War Machine Leather Very interesting episode here, I have to admit, I am a bit wound up. So I start out complaining about my Bose headphones and then drive right into a FB exchange regarding Mils and MOA. That was pretty comical, but we knew a Mil vs MOA discussion on Facebook would be a joke anyway. There are a bunch of nuggets hidden in the episode. The careful listener will find them if choose to listen carefully. I actually like the part about the Match Directors thinking outside the box and creating 2 signature stages for their events that really push the shooters. In my mind, every competition should have a signature stage or two that highlights what the Match Director brings to the table. It's what made the Sniper's Hide events so popular. I want to thank Seth from War Machine Leather Works for the iPhone Holsters. Awesome products for EDC. #snipershide #practicalmarksman #STAhungy #precisionrifletraining Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for commenting, even if it's just Free Comment Stay tuned for the 6GT Manners Stock and GAP Rifle combination, hitting the range soon.

I want to thank Mike for a great interview and thanks to all the listeners of the Everyday Sniper podcast #Vudoogunworks #snipershide #EDSPodcast

Ep 223The Everyday Sniper Episode 222, 100 Yard Zeros
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 222, 100 Yard Zeros Welcome to 2020 and the first new episode of the new year. We are excited to be back and I want to jump right in with precision rifle training. In this new years' episode I have two areas of focus: 100 yard zeroing managing your data I believe every rifle 338 and smaller should have a 100 yard zero. Thinking about this, I also want to look at the type of target we use to zero that may have a bearing. With this in mind, I have been looking at both target design and how we use them. Any way we slice it, we have to work at 100 yards and that work we do there is important. It sets the tone for the rest of our shooting. If we have good groups centered up, we are money, if we are off-center and opened up bigger than a minute, we may run into some trouble down the road. I want to be efficient when teaching students at 100 yards. It can be boring so it's important to focus on tasks being put forth vs just trying to get the round count up. I am considering too, the type of target, circles vs the square, vs a diamond, as I think it matters. Next is managing your data, I made a post on Sniper's Hide about managing your data so be sure to check it out. I think it will help some put down their phones and think about the work to be accomplished. Ep 219The Everyday Sniper Episode 218 Innovation and Stuff
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 218 Innovation and Stuff As we come to the close of 2019 I was doing an article on innovation. The article is designed to drop right after SHOT Show, so I was able to get behind the scenes with a few products and companies so I wanted to touch on what I look for in terms of innovation. Mainly this episode talks about bipods, suppressors, and some of the accessories we see creeping up. The Victor Company stuff, changes to the way we engage targets. Looking out why we innovate. You know how the saying goes, innovate or die. But talking bipods, suppressors and stuff. Sorry about the distractions, with so few hours in the day you have to do what you can when you can. I can't control the doorbell sometimes and it totally blew my train of thought. Thanks for listening, Thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

Ep 218The Everyday Sniper Episode 217 Housekeeping

Ep 217The Everyday Sniper Episode 216 Post Black Friday Gear Talk
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 216 Post-Black Friday Gear Talk Did you score on Black Friday, or did you skip the shopping altogether? I scored a few items right around the Holidays, TriggerCam Victor Company AX Rails AXHR ColeTac Nylon Products Podmic Training Time is a Happy Time Those are the items of interest in this podcast, another area of focus is my bitch about the state of the 338LM. I think people forcing the 300gr bullet in a 338LM on us ruined the caliber for many because the heavier bullet does not work as advertised, especially with people pushing it so slow. I give my continued observations on speed overweight again, in my opinion speed wins. The 338LM should be the ultimate sniping round, but going to the 300gr bullet handicapped it by a wide margin and ruined it for a lot of people. Go back in time and listen to some of my older podcasts on stepping down in bullet weight vs the speed gains. I think you will find speed kills and it works better when you bring the speed back into the equations. Too many shooters default to the heaviest bullet of the class, they need to revisit that and see what a lighter bullet at increased speeds will do for you. Pretty mellow podcast, hope you enjoy, Don't forget to comment. Cheers,

Ep 216The Everyday Sniper Episode 215 Jim from Prime Ammo
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 215 Jim from Prime Ammo In this episode of the Everyday Sniper Podcast, we sit down and talk with Jim from Prime ammunition about his recently announced Group Buy on the Sniper's Hide website. Jim has a new program to offer ammunition at some amazing prices that are being offered in a group buy, crowdfunding format. This is huge for the precision rifle community and specifically the Sniper's Hide members because, it is offering 6.5CM at $1.06 and $1.14 a round, with free shipping. By crowdfunding the bulk purchase and using this same system to offer ammunition people want vs ammunition where you have no choice but to take what they give you. A great conversation all the way around, we really lay all this out for everyone both here in the Podcast and in the Sniper's Hide Forum. To all the Sniper's Hide members and to the listeners of the Everyday Sniper Podcast, thank you for an excellent season, great year and all the support you have given, not just me and Sniper's Hide but all the participating companies who interact with us throughout the year. Please comment on the App, or head over to Sniper's Hide for more discussions. Cheers,

EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 213 Special Surprise Guest Episode Who we have here, what can we possibly talking about, well you have to listen to find out. Our special guest comes as no surprise, just surprised we were able to nail him down this great edition of the Everyday Sniper Podcast. I know you will be on the edge of your seat waiting with baited breathe to hear him lay down some knowledge bombs like a B52. Don't mind the silliness of the episode, that is what makes it fun, and if you hear one or two things which may come off offensive, have no fear, it's all in good fun. Sit back, relax, pour a glass of whiskey even if you are driving and enjoy this edition of the Everyday Sniper Podcast. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of our journey

Ep 213The Everyday Sniper Episode 212 Rear Bags, Bipods, Comments
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 212 Rear Bags, Bipods, Comments Back at it this week, I just shot a short video, did a rear bag lesson and wanted to talk about some lessons learned. We see a lot of different shooters, situations, and equipment when teaching a class. That experience allows us to look at things happening with our precision rifle shooting on a microscopic level. We really want to breakdown this process into the smallest components possible. So with that, we see a lot of rear bag movement which causes some vertical stringing and weird flies with guys because the bag is moving out from under the stock. Choosing the right rear bag is just as important as choosing the right scope. Look at yourself, use your phone to film your technique and really just hyper analyze the process. We do these podcast episodes for you the listener, and the shooter. We want you to know the, "why" behind these things we talk about every week. The why is hte most important aspect of all shooting. Answer that correctly and the rest falls into place. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of the everyday sniper podcast

Ep 212The Everyday Sniper Episode 211 Vacation Fundamental Truths
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 211 Vacation Fundamental Truths I am in LA but wanted to knock out a quick podcast for everyone. I did a full day at Disney and right now I am getting ready to head to see Jim at Prime Ammo. In this episode, I talk about the levels in our heads, thanks to a post made by Regina M on Snipers Hide. This illustrates in living color how our head works in terms of viewing the reticle through the scope. This brings me full circle to talk levels and fundamentals. I breakdown the prone position again and how our bodies respond to different elements of our shooting. I think this short but powerful episode will resonate with a lot of new shooters, and some open-minded older shooters too. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and don't forget to comment. Either in the Podbean App or on Sniper's Hide in the Everyday Sniper Section of the forum. California is the state of camel toe, and shall forever be regarded that way.

Ep 211The Everyday Sniper Episode 210 Joe Salvador of Savage Arms
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 210 Joe Salvador of Savage Arms As promised, here is my interview with Joe Salvador from Savage. We are really excited for Joe to be on the podcast. We often talk about a lot of companies and you never know how it will be taken. Joe reached upon hearing some of the issues we had with various Savage Rifles and wanted to address them moving forward. Savage has been quietly paying attention and making adjustments to support the tactical precision rifle world we shoot in. I think he does a great job of laying it out where Savage is headed moving forward. Look for them at SHOT Show in 2020 as there is new stuff announced and new products on the horizon. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, and thanks for commenting.

Ep 210The Everyday Sniper Episode 209 Epic Rant, Hate me, Don't use my Site, Easy.
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 209 Epic Rant, Hate me, Don't use my Site So I have absolutely nothing to say today, and I am just uploading a podcast because that is what I am supposed to do. This creates a dynamic and often volatile situation where I rant about stuff that pisses me off. So with that in mind, I drop quite a few F-bombs in this episode. I was home yesterday on Sniper's Hide and again I was lectured about my opinion of a competition that was posted in the forum. Don't lecture me on my own website, if you don't like my opinion, go away. I did not invite myself to your house, you came to mine. Otherwise, I don't say a lot in this episode, I am just venting about random bs. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

Ep 206The Everyday Sniper Episode 205 JP Rifles, Adam and Team Safari
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 205 JP Rifles, Adam and Team Safari I am down in New Mexico at the Blue Steel Ranch shooting the Competition Dynamics Team Safari Match with Adam Burt GM of JP Rifles This was a last-minute addition to my weekend. I have never shot a CD Match beyond the early Sniper's Hide Matches they hosted for me. So this is a fulfillment of a bucket list match. The nice thing with a CD match is blind stages, under field course conditions. We paired up and are having a blast shooting this event. I am having great results shooting the 224 Valkyrie in my JP and Adam is shooting their version of a bolt rifle built off their APAC Chassis an Ultimatum action in 6.5PRC. The rifles are shooting great and we are having a straight-up blast here. Thanks to CD for an awesome event, thanks to Adam for inviting me and thanks to JP for making a kick-ass stick to launch my 88gr love pills downrange. Don't forget to comment, and to share the podcast. Cheers,

EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 204 Tools, Talk, and Textbooks Welcome to the Everyday Sniper, you have Frank from Sniper's Hide bringing you the latest updates from inside my brain. In this episode, I am talking Tools, toolkits, fix it sticks, Borka Tools, all the stuff you need and should have to keep your rifle up and running correctly. It's important you carry a set of tools with you when it comes to working on your precision rifle. We recommend the borka tools or fix it sticks as they make mission-specific tool kits for your rifle systems. Next, I get you caught up on the group buys happening at sniper's hide. We currently have a Cadex Defense chassis buy as well as a Prime Ammunition discount code being offered to members of the Sniper's Hide Community. Finally, I talk a little racing. I like NASCAR and watched the race on Monday, so I speak a tiny bit about it. Dont forget to comment, to subscribe if you have not already and turn on a friend.

EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 203 User Comments, Scope Height, Group Buys, Sniper's Hide HI Eric V, welcome to the everyday sniper podcast. In this episode, we had a bunch of really great questions from the listeners that just happen to correspond to some discussions we were having in the sniper's hide forum. Ep 203The Everyday Sniper Episode 202 Jack Master Charts, Interview with Ted H
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 202 Jack Master Charts, Interview with Ted H More and more we see hardcopy data is a better way of doing business. The apps have been inconsistent, our phones are constantly being updated and changed. So the only constant in all this all is change. Enter hardcopy charts that are to the next level. Ted H was a student in our precision rifle class this past weekend. he is also known as Jack Master on Sniper's Hide and produces some of the best data charts I have ever seen. We used his Weaponized Math Charts as well his Wind Angle Offset is outstanding. Seriously useful, seriously easy to navigate. Stop by the Sniper's Hide forum for the images of the charts and graphs created to bring your data to the next level. It's much easier to access a laminated page vs trying to access a computer or phone in the field. These charts and theories work, we put them all into practice and the success is unmistakable. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

Ep 202The Everyday Sniper Episode 201 Podbean Comments Plus
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 201 Podbean Comments Plus Does a title for the podcast even matter? I mean does anyone read this stuff I write, because to be honest, I just ramble so there is something written. I find it weird to write what I am talking about, but I suppose there has to be some kind of description or nobody would know what we are about. In this episode, I am talking in circles, reading Podbean Comments, and correcting a few previous mistakes I made in regards to my shout-outs. The comments have been awesome and I appreciate everyone's comments because it is a watched metric. Be sure to keep commenting as I want to see where we fall come the end of the year with Podbean. Don't forget to head over to Sniper's Hide and hang out in the forum. The forum is much better than Facebook, which is just a constant troll fest out there. As soon as one piece of positive information is posted on FB, some idiot comes in and ruins it. On Sniper's Hide, we crush them so only the good gets through to you. Thanks again, and be safe out there, Lowlight

Ep 198The Everyday Sniper Episode 197, True Range Zero, User Comments, FFS
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 197, True Range Zero, User Comments In this episode, I talk about your True Range Zero and what the end-user can do to fix issues with software to help fine-tune your truing. With a true range zero a group that is just .1 mils above center moves your group to 150 yards in terms of how the computer looks at it. So it's important to understand these variations. Talking Gun Control a tiny bit, all about the messaging we are being attacked with. Make sure you do your part. Some singing, a little stairway, and random musings. Finally, we end with User Comments from the PodBean App. Keep the comments coming we all enjoy them. Thanks for listening and being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

Ep 197The Everyday Sniper Episode 196 Communicate, Move, Shoot
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 196 Communicate, Move, Shoot Thanks for listening and subscribing to the Everyday Sniper Podcast. In this episode we talk, Communication, Movement and Shooting. Sort of an end of the competition season discussion. We need to communicate before the stage, or even during with a teammate. Then we need to move forward to build our position and finally shoot our targets. So I am taking the Shoot Move Communicate mantra and turning it around in a more logical order of things. I was working with two guys from California this week who are attending the local Competition Dynamics Team event and getting them spun required them to looking at the match in a different way. They shot it before but with very little prep work, so putting in that extra work required this type of discussion. Thanks for listening, commenting and being a part of the Podcast. Hope you enjoy

Ep 194The Everyday Sniper Episode 193 Chassis talk, Hunter Ballistics Musings
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 193 Chassis talk, Hunter Ballistics Musings Welcomes to the Everyday Sniper, in this episode I breakdown some thoughts on Marc's weaponized maths. I shot a video for the Sniper's Hide Online Training featuring the use of the math, and it worked out really well here in CO. I had to make a few minor tweaks at the extended ranges, but overall, excellent little video to show you how to put it in practice. This conversation Segways into the talk of ballistics. A hunter came on Sniper's Hide and was confused by setting up his ballistic computer for his hunting rifle. Part of the issue is trying to have these longer range zeros on the rifles. For a modern shooter, I recommend a 100 yards then for hunting you can always dial up to 200, or 300 yards. But still you need to know you rifle and it's drop. Guys making these long impressive shots on animals are not winging it. They treat it the same as hitting a target in a match. In other words they are putting in their homework on the subject. Another area of interest, stocks and chassis. I put together several rifles this past week. Moving barreled actions around so they match up with a specific chassis or stock I am looking at. Currently I have the McMillan A10 here, with the JP Chassis, the MDT ACC, and finally the Cadex Strike Nuke. So with all these chassis arriving I need barreled actions to put in them. It's important to match the action to the chassis, so I was playing musical chassis. Finally, most of the classes of 2019 are finished or sold out. We are getting ready for 2020, which means I need to coordinate locations. If you want to me to visit your area reach ou to me asap to help set this up. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of the everyday sniper podcast. Peace out

Ep 193The Everyday Sniper Episode 192 Post Class Wind talk, Chassis, Podbean Q&A
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 192 Post Class Wind talk, Chassis, Podbean Q&A Just finished the August MHSA Precision Rifle class here in Colorado. We had a crazy 25 to 45MPH wind hit us on Saturday. So we had a great opportunity to shoot in a 30MPH headwind with Mike's 6CM. Listen to the episode if you want to know what we saw. We do our normal Q&A with the Podbean questions we had some very good ones this time around. Questions like, How do DQ A shooter in a Match What is Quartering a Target LH Gain Twist Questions User Feedback It's always fun interacting with the listeners so be sure to post your question if you want it read during an episode. Finally, I put the call out for some questions regarding stocks. We recently lost JAE as a builder, and people want to know what stocks and chassis are out there and how they can help. Thanks for listening, sharing and being a part of the everyday sniper podcast.

Ep 192The Everyday Sniper Episode 191 Fundamental Breakdown, Elements vs FoM
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 191 Fundamental Breakdown, Elements vs FoM I was looking over some old military marksmanship manuals, not so much for the mistakes, but to see where things evolved from the Elements of a good shooting position to the fundamentals of marksmanship. And in thinking about the different techniques we use for shooting the various disciplines we engage in, how the fundamentals and the elements of a good position apply. We can free recoil a rifle and still engage in the fundamentals of marksmanship. We can also buy a hit by using the weapon system to balance our position and mask some of the errors induced by our poor fundamentals. As an example, a heavy class benchrest shooter can do a lot to eliminate as much as the shooter as possible. Others attempt to do the same thing in the field. Get a system or supporting device that masks the shooters or minimizes their influence on the shot. It's a practical exercise to look at each of these fundamentals and what we can do to minimize their influence using the gear. It really comes down to education, knowing what fundamental controls what and how the rifle system marries to that fundamental. I talk Accuracy and Precision, we all know the rifle system can have a bearing on both. As will the shooter and his or her fundamentals when it comes to executing the firing task. Hopefully, this episode of the Everyday Sniper makes you think about all there elements. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing thanks for being a part of the Everday Sniper. Ep 191The Everyday Sniper Episode 190 Rex Defense Post Class Debrief
EThe Everyday Sniper Episode 190 Rex Defense Post Class Debrief Welcome to politically correct Frank, I am host, Fundamental Frank who is gonna depart from my normal ranting style to something more mellow. As several have heard, this past weekend I attended a Rex Defense Seminar in Denver. I saw it while prepping for the Gathering, and decided, why not, attend the seminar. So I did and wanted to post my thoughts but presented as constructive criticism. No harm, no foul right, all in the right mindset. So if you are curious as to my take on a rex defense seminar, here you are, my thoughts. Not too hard, not too soft, hopefully just right to get the concept across through the radio. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, if you are interested, there is more discussion on the topic at Sniper's Hide in the forums. Don't forget to comment in the comment section.
