INTERVIEW | Kentucky's Daniel Cameron Scores Win Against Threat of Banks Cutting Off Conservatives
Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, a Republican who is also running for governor, secured a pledge from JPMorgan Chase that may help protect conservatives from the threat of "debanking"—when banks cut off services over the religious or political stance of a customer, including nonprofits. Cameron slammed the "hypocrisy that we see from big businesses." Speaking with "The Daily Signal Podcast," Cameron notes that corporations "will promote the ideas and the agenda of the far Left, but they remain quiet or dismissive of protecting the First Amendment rights of religious organizations and—dare I say—the majority of Americans who firmly believe that we should have and welcome all viewpoints into the marketplace of ideas." INTERVIEW | Newt Gingrich Goes Behind the Scenes of 'Republican Revolution'
The Republican “Contract With America” is arguably one of the most influential political documents in recent history. In 1994, then-Reps. Newt Gingrich of Georgia and Dick Armey of Texas drafted the Contract With America, rallying Republicans around key policy priorities ahead of that year's midterm elections. Gingrich credits the document with leading to Republicans' historic House takeover. “To show you how historic it was, there's a 40-year period when there [was] no Republican majority,” says Gingrich, who became speaker of the House. The momentum continued, and Republicans “held the House for 12 years, but what was important was, when we lost it in 2006, Republicans knew they could be a majority,” the former Georgia lawmaker says. In his new book, “March to the Majority: The Real Story of the Republican Revolution,” Gingrich explains how the Contract With America fundamentally changed the Republican Party. He also shares stories about President Ronald Reagan and weighs in on the current political climate. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. INTERVIEW | Juneteenth: A Day to Celebrate Freedom
After years of teaching, Arianne Craig Jolla says parents, not just educators, need to teach their children. And as the nation celebrates Juneteenth on Monday, Craig Jolla says parents have a wonderful opportunity to educate their children on the history behind the day and the joy of freedom. Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of the last enslaved blacks after the end of the Civil War. As the author of “Teach Your OWN Kid! Schools Can’t Do It Alone,” Craig Jolla says parents play an important educational role on Juneteenth. Craig Jolla joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the history of Juneteenth and a new initiative that aims to end generational cycles of poverty. As co-founder of the Louisiana based HYPE Academy Private School & Academic Resource Center and a longtime teacher, she says students lack basic financial knowledge. "It is a cycle of poverty that will not be undone just in a classroom, but there has to be a tool that we bring online, a learning solution for those kids to undo some of the generational issues that we're seeing," she says. Through an interactive app called Cash Academy, Craig Jolla says students will be able to learn how to "earn, invest, save, spend, and give." "Just as we are fighting for education freedom in black and brown schools that serve black and brown kids, just as we, Hype Academy, is now moving into our project Cash Academy, and we're fighting for financial freedom for those same kids, it is important for them to know that historically that their ancestors ... fought for those fundamental freedoms to be able to go to school and to get the kind of assistance that many of our young people are the beneficiaries of," she says. INTERVIEW | Sen. Marco Rubio on What 'Deindustrialization' of US Has Cost the Nation
Strong communities and families, well-paying jobs, and industrial power—those are three key foundations to America’s success, according to Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. America was at its best when it had all three, but “all of them have been undermined,” the Florida Republican says. According to Rubio, after the Cold War, America's leaders thought all nations were moving toward democracy and being "consumers and investors in a global market." But things have not gone as anticipated, and the result has been “the deindustrialization of America, the Rust Belt, [and] the loss of good-paying jobs,” he says. In his new book “Decades of Decadence: How Our Spoiled Elites Blew America's Inheritance of Liberty, Security, and Prosperity," Rubio explains a path forward to restoring America’s key foundations. Rubio joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the moment in history in which America finds itself and how we can begin to decrease dependence on China. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast. INTERVIEW | 'A Very Dangerous Situation,' Benedict Rogers Says of US Depending Too Much on China For Imports
According to the Council on Foreign Relations, “the United States imports more from China than from any other country." The total volume of imports in 2022 from China into the U.S. amounted to more than $536 billion, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported. The Group of Seven leaders in May issued a statement about "de-risking and diversifying" from China, while also acknowledging that they would not be "decoupling or turning inwards." What does "de-risking" and "diversifying" look like? "Well, I think the imbalance of trade is extremely concerning, particularly when we're talking about a regime that is now credibly accused of a genocide against the Uyghur people. It has totally broken an international treaty in regard to Hong Kong and dismantled completely the promised freedoms and autonomy for Hong Kong," says Benedict Rogers, co-founder and chief executive of Hong Kong Watch. Hong Kong Watch is a "registered charity" based in the United Kingdom that "researches and monitors threats to Hong Kong’s basic freedoms, the rule of law and autonomy as promised under the ‘one country, two systems’ principle, which is enshrined in the Basic Law and the Sino-British Joint Declaration," according to its website. "And it's committing other very serious atrocity crimes against other groups within China, but also it's complicit with atrocities in other regimes, particularly North Korea and Burma," Rogers says. "And of course, it's increasingly threatening Taiwan. And plus, it's a regime that hid and lied to the world over the virus, which became the COVID-19 global pandemic." Rogers adds: So, to have such a high dependency on that one country for imports I think is a very dangerous situation to be in. And I hope that the United States and other countries as well will diversify, and that means producing more at home, but also investing in other countries that are less risky.Rogers joins today's episode of "The Daily Signal Podcast" to discuss the difference between "de-coupling" and "de-risking and diversifying"; how the U.S. can ethically trade with China; and his book, published late last year, "China Nexus: Thirty Years In and Around the Chinese Communist Party’s Tyranny." INTERVIEW | Antisemitism Is Rising in America, Left and Right. The Bible Helps Explain Why
The greatest tool for fighting antisemitism is the Bible, and Jew-hatred is on the rise in the U.S. because Americans are less and less familiar with the holy text, a Christian leader warns. Philos Action League mobilizes Christians to fight antisemitism. INTERVIEW | Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization, Explained
The Biden administration is using a Department of Homeland Security anti-terrorism grant program to target Americans with conservative and Christian beliefs. It's a shocking discovery that came to light in recent weeks thanks to the Media Research Center. The Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program provided $352,000 to the PREVENTS-OH initiative at the University of Dayton. Included in the grant application was a chart, "The Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization," which links well-known conservative organizations to neo-Nazis. Dan Schneider, vice president of the Media Research Center's Free Speech America, MRC Business, and the external affairs division, joins "The Daily Signal Podcast" to explain what his organization discovered. "They held a conference even before grant funding was provided, where they specifically used this chart and additional charts to train people on how to subvert organizations like The Heritage Foundation," Schneider said. "And this sounds like such a conspiracy theory. It sounds crazy that this is happening, but it really is." INTERVIEW | Retired Israeli General Breaks Down the Threat of a Nuclear Iran
Israel recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, and many Jews and Christians see the state's existence as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy, but a former Israeli general also raised the alarm about the growing threats from Iran and its allies in the East. "Things have changed dramatically in the last year," Amir Avivi, a retired brigadier general in the Israeli Defense Forces, told The Daily Signal in an interview at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention last week. "We've seen the East moving towards adapting to the sanctions the West is imposing in the last year, especially on Russia and rightly so. But China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, all of these countries are getting closer and closer together. It enables them to overcome sanctions." In April, China brokered a deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia, signaling a new balance of power in the Middle East. Avivi, who currently serves as founder and chairman of the Israeli Defense and Security Forum, suggested the U.S. should engage more in the Middle East. "The other option is the U.S. stepping forward, building a coalition in the Middle East, posing a credible military threat on Iran, and by doing so, stabilizing the region," the retired general said. "Bringing peace agreements—because the Saudis are willing to do peace with Israel. They're willing to expand this peace also to Pakistan and Indonesia and Oman." "But they will not go forward with a peace agreement without American commitment to stand strong with Israel and the Sunni world," Avivi said. INTERVIEW | ‘Let's Take the Fight to Them’: Why This Legal Group Keeps Suing Biden Administration
An organization called America First Legal has filed at least two dozen lawsuits against the Biden administration. "We need to fight for the American people, advance conservative principles, and be there to really make a difference," Gene Hamilton, vice president and legal counsel for America First Legal, says. Hamilton served as counselor to the attorney general at the Justice Department during the Trump administration and he recalls growing weary of various leftist groups filing lawsuits to block President Donald Trump's agenda. “It's a little bit of an exaggeration …," Hamilton says, "but it's almost close to the truth that every time we'd have a press conference, there would be some organization that would file a lawsuit representing somebody to get us enjoined before we could even get done with the press conference to get things off the ground." When President Joe Biden came to office in January 2021, Hamilton and Stephen Miller, who was a senior advisor in the Trump administration, decided to “do what they do.” “Let's take the fight to them,” Hamilton says of America First Legal’s approach to fighting the policies of the Left. “Let's be equipped and ready to bring the battles to the Left, wherever it may be, whether that's in the government, whether that's in big business, big education, wherever.” Hamilton joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss how America First Legal is fighting the Biden administration'seffort to redefine sex. INTERVIEW | Josh Hawley Breaks Down Why Ideological Left Targets Masculinity
Sen. Josh Hawley believes that masculine, strong, virtuous men are needed more than ever in today’s society. That’s part of the reason that the Missouri Republican wrote his new book, “Manhood: The Masculine Virtues America Needs,” the senator said in an interview with The Daily Signal. “The masculine virtues are the virtues of a husband and a father, of a warrior and a builder, of a priest and a king,” Hawley explained, citing the chapters included in his book. “I really wrote the book for my boys. I’ve got two little boys at home, who are 10 and 8. I say ‘little’; I mean, they’re getting older now, but they’re 10 and 8. And I’ve got a baby girl.” The premise is simple, the senator said: “America needs strong men. It needs good men, and we should call men to be those things.” Corporate media, the entertainment industry, and leftist ideologues are all pushing the same message to young men, Hawley said—namely, that if you are a man, you are “toxic.” “To be a man is to somehow, in and of itself, to contribute to the systemic injustice of America, so-called,” he said. “And I think this message is relentlessly driven at men today.” Colorado Wants to Force Her To Create LGBTQ Wedding Websites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfk1q-EXNDE Hosted on Acast.
