Neely is accused of being an unruly black dude in public and frightening passengers on the subway. A White 24-year-old Marine, Daniel J. Penny, has been identified as the passenger who choked Neely to death. His attorney says Penny acted in self defense. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, New Yorkers reported an increase in subway attacks - which allegedly contributed to the ongoing decrease in ridership. This is a major part of this debate as many suggest rowdy, no-counts like Neely make life hell for subway passengers. We also disscus this weekend's Kentucky Derby. The brilliant host of The C.O.W.S. recently scheduled a number of programs about this history of White Supremacy in Kentucky and cultural import of the Churchill Downs. 7 horses died this week leading up the big contest - some under suspicious circumstances. The Context of White Supremacy (C.O.W.S.) Radio Program hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 05/05/23 Gus's headphones died during the middle of the broadcast which caused major irritation for our dedicated host and minor audio irritation for our listeners. We corrected the audio issued and discussed the importance of not feeling compelled to respond to every insult or act of White Terrorism in the workplace. Many Whites love to waste our time and to have us become emotionally riled up for no reason. Often it's best to limit your contact and dialog with non-constructive employees. We also evaluate a fascinating segment from NPR exploring how black financial advisors are routinely abused and sabotaged by their overwhelmingly White co-workers. One black female worker, Erika Williams, admits that she didn't understand that her office being stuck in the basement and her White co-workers willful exclusion of and gossiping about her is how the System of White Supremacy works. She just thought they were being "unfair." And after three and half years, Whites have declared the Covid-19 crisis over. US Federal employees and other workers are no longer required to submit to testing and vaccine mandates. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the debut study session on Dave Cullen's COLUMBINE. The April 20th, 1999 Colorado High School shooting resulted in 15 casualties - including the two White shooters. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold used firearms and bombs to slaughter their classmates before taking their own lives. This massacre inspired school shootings around the world, changed law enforcement's rules of engagement, and remains one of the most significant events of the last 30 years. Harris and Klebold were allegedly fascinated with Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. They carried out the attack on Hitler's birthday and a mere 4 years after Timothy McVeigh's bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building - which was on April 19th, 1995. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Louis Moore. A Professor of History at Grand Valley State University, Dr Moore's research and writing examines the interconnections between race and sports. He is the author of two recently published books, I Fight for a Living: Boxing and the Battle for Black Manhood, 1880-1915 and We Will Win the Day: The Civil Rights Movement, the Black Athlete, and the Quest for Equality. Gus learned a bit more about former black prizefighter Sam Langford. A contemporary of black heavyweight champion Jack Johnson, Gus found out Langford was nicknamed: "The Boston Tar Baby," Smoke," and "The Original Nigger In The Wood Pile." This prompted Gus to dig more. The timing of this broadcast can not be overstated. We just spoke with Suspected Racist Dr. Katherine C. Mooney about her research on White Supremacy and horse racing. Dr. Mooney is cited in I Fight for a Living. Even more, Isaac Murphy and the prominence of 19th and 20th century black jockeys is talked about along side the success of black boxers like "The Boston Tar Baby" and "The Desperate Coon." The latter is a black male boxer who's legal name was lost. These Racist "nicknames" highlight how black males were denied manhood and humanity in spite of their knockout power. Black hunger is a major component of this book. And White homoeroticism and lust for black male bodies. We also hear a fascinating segment about racially ambiguous fighters like Mervine Thompson - who Jack Sullivan outed as having negro blood. Maddox was a stalwart attorney who won exoneration for his client in the Central Park 5 case but remains most known for his work on the Tawana Brawley rape case. Whites stripped his ability to practice law. The great Harry Belafonte was a lifelong friend of Coretta Scott King, was in attendance for the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and used his immense stardom to counter-racism as best he could. Maddox died at the age of 77. Belafonte made it to the age of 96. We also discuss the legalization of recreational cannabis in Minnesota. This marks the 22nd US state to approve the green stuff. We also recognize the death of Carolyn Bryant Donham at age 88. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 15th and final study session on Mário Filho's 1947 The Black Man in Brazilian Soccer, translated to English by Jack A. Draper III. Football legend Pelé finally appeared in the text briefly last weekly, and he'll dominate as we finish the text this week. The three time World Cup champion changed the way the business of soccer is done. We'll pay close attention to the details of his life and times as we wrap things up. It's been a fascinating time to learn about Brazil. The numerous school attacks and ongoing hooliganism surrounding last year's presidential election greatly informed how Gus processed the information in this book. Last week, we learned a new Racist slur: "moleque." This word is used specifically to insult black males. Draped includes a footnote that explains this term and he adds that Filho used this term to degrade black male players. The phrase "street urchin" litters the entire book and is described as a sanitized synonym to moleque. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Katherine C. Mooney. The James P. Jones Associate Professor of History at Florida State University, Dr. Mooney examines "the cultural history of inequality in the United States--how it is imagined and made into political and legal discourse, how it plays out in people's daily lives. She primarily works on the history of slavery and its legacies." We'll examine her 2014 publication, Race Horse Men: How Slavery & Freedom Were Made at the Racetrack. This programs picks up right where we left off this past Monday with Dr. Emily Bingham and her book, My Old Kentucky Home. Dr. Mooney's work also explores White Supremacy/Racism. However, she explores the history of black horse trainers and jockeys from the plantation days to their complete obliteration. We'll discuss the value and sometimes extensive "privileges" awarded to black slaves with equine expertise. These young boys were often starved and sometimes celebrated across the land for the riding skills. However, after the Civil War, Whites promptly went about the business of obliterating all black employment in the horse racing industry. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Emily Bingham. A prizewinning author of three books who lives and teaches in Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Bingham is a historian by trade and profession. She also classifies herself as a "privileged White Woman." During our current book study of Brazil, Gus was struck by references to the KKK, lynching, and the 19th century minstrel song "My Old Kentucky Home." The global appeal of this White Supremacist hymn led Gus to Dr. Bingham's 2022 publication, My Old Kentucky Home: The Astonishing Life and Reckoning of an Iconic American Song. The book details how Stephen Foster's minstrel jam spawned a tax-payer-funded public monument, became the Kentucky State anthem, and theme song of Churchill Down's Kentucky Derby. Even after Breonna Taylor was gunned down in her own Kentucky Home in March of 2020, Whites remained dedicated to their sacrosanct tune about gay darkies being sold down the river. We'll ask Dr. Bingham about her use of the terms: "spadework," "militant," and "progressive." The term "White Supremacy" is in her book 20 times. Meanwhile, the term "progress" is in the book 47 times! We also chatted about Bingham's own White Terrorist relatives who are still revered at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Gus made a primary point of two major omissions from Dr. Bingham's work: the University of Kentucky's dedicated White Supremacist Adolph Rupp & the 1919 White Terrorist purge of black residents from Corbin, Kentucky - home of Kentucky Fried Chicken. A White Man, Andrew Lester, is charged with two felonies and has pleaded not guilty. As is typical with Race Soldiers, Mr. Lester was released from greater confinement, and is home on bond. Further south in Alabama, four black teens were fatally shot at a "Sweet Sixteen" "birthday" celebration. Dozens more were injured in the attack allegedly carried out by six black males between the ages of 20 and 15, who've since been arrested and charged for the carnage. We'll also hear remarks recognizing 28 years since Race Soldier Timothy McVeigh bombed the Oklahoma City federal building - killing more than 160 people. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism 04/21/23. Congress is allegedly investigating the widespread abuse of child migrant laborers. Reports suggest many of these children would be classified as non-white. There have been a plethora of investigations charging food processing companies and other White-owned corporations of employing children for dangerous cleaning jobs. Some children were required to work well after midnight and could barely function in school because of fatigue. We'll also hear NPR's segment on the allegedly low unemployment numbers for black people. They hint at a "gendered" problem with employment numbers, but they do not specify what "gendered" employment issue is. Last week, former President Jair Bolsonaro was order to testify about the disgraceful melee that took place following his electoral defeat just months ago. Current President Lula de Silva visited China to bolster the two nation's relationship and to encourage moving away from the US dollar as a currency of trade. This was big news back in the states. Additionally, Brazil continues to endure countless school attacks. There were two different school assaults at the beginning of last week, which marked the 11th school massacre in the past 8 months. It's reported that only the US has similar rates of violent school massacres. Last week, Filho told us about the 1950 championship battle between Uruguay and Brazil. Nearly a quarter million people crammed the stands to watch the favored Brazilians take a loss. Just like current times, black players were blamed for the defeat. Careca, a black player, was branded the greatest "dirtbag" to kick a ball. And we got even more talk about negroes with big thighs and "loud," "bad hair." The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Douglas Massey, Suspected Racist. The Henry G. Bryant Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs, with a joint appointment in The Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, Dr. Massey is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society. He's the current president of the American Academy of Political and Social Science and is a member of the Council of the National Academy of Sciences and co-editor of the Annual Review of Sociology. Dr Massey’s research focuses on international migration, race and housing, discrimination, education, urban poverty, and stratification. Gus read about Dr. Massey work in a New York Times op-ed on White Supremacy in education. The reported cited Dr. Massey's 2017 "commentary," Why Death Haunts Black Lives. We'll address a number of Dr. Massey's great work on education, economics and law. In fact, one of his reports details how White banksters codified and exploited black stupidity to loot billions from home buyers. Even with detailed information about this process, Dr. Massey still insisted that non-white people are more informed about what Racism is and how it works. Importantly, Dr. Massey claimed Gus's definition of Racism was not accurate. However, when asked to pinpoint the inaccuracies, Dr. Massey never listed one thing. Also, Dr. Massey used the expression "black racism." Gus T. highlighted this curious phrase, but Dr. Massey disputed having said this. Brazil endured two separate school attacks on Monday and Tuesday of this week. These mark the 10th and 11th school massacres in Brazil in the last 8 months. President Lula de Silva departed for China, where he encouraged "developing nations" to eschew the US dollar for other forms of currency. Whites of North America had hoped for better. Apparently, her black son and another co-worker were discussing how people classified as White look for a reason to say the word nigger without consequence. Seemingly on cue, a different employee showed up to ask her son if he could explain the difference between a black person and a nigger. Thankfully, she taught her black child well, and he made haste for an exit. Gus recommends that parents speak with their offspring about what Racism is and how it works in all areas of people activity with a special focus on labor. Your non-white sons and daughters should not be surprised about the practice of White Supremacy - especially the use of the term nigger. Brazilian football (soccer) legend Pelé died near the end of 2022 at the age of 82. His transition along with the disgraceful hooliganism displayed when former President Jair Bolsonaro lost the presidency to Lula da Silva, motivated us to read this book. The whole time, the US has been struggling with a seeming increase of school shootings, Brazil has been battling the same problem. There was a hatchet attack at a day care center last week. And two weeks ago, on the same day as the Nashville, Tennessee church school shooting, a teacher was stabbed to death in Sao Paulo. In fact, they've suffered through 11 school massacres in the past 8 months. Last week, Filho detailed how World War II impacted South America. It seems many Whites in Brazil identified with the Germans, and hoped to join forces with Hitler and Mussolini. Filho continues to promote the lie that football had progressed beyond Racism. Yet, black players were denied the position of goal tender and assumed to be corrupted by bribes and sports gambling. And similar to Filho's earlier mention of lynching, he discusses the Klu Klux Klan and 20th century minstrel tunes without providing any historical context. The most watched game in women's college basketball history featured a starting White 5 against a starting black 5. Aggie parents and students were reportedly furious about the lack of communication from university officials. in California, Joanne Segovia, a 20-year employee of San Jose's Police Officers Association, was arrested and terminated this week for allegedly trafficking fentanyl and controlled substances. Segovia, a White Woman, is accused of using her workplace computer and police connections to help camouflage her international drug cartel. Thompson. She's repeatedly failed a required certification for North Carolina public school educators and has consequently been relegated to "substitute teacher" pay and status - which is about an $18,000 subtraction in annual pay. Our "Female Caller in Georgia" commented that any competent academic program should successfully train their students to pass any certifications required to advance in their respective field. Gus investigated further, and reports indicate Ms. Thompson attended the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Institute of Charlotte. Both of these schools are now defunct. The company that owned the Art Institute franchise, Dream Center Education Holdings, is now bankrupt and accused of scamming thousands of gullible college students - like Ms. Thompson. Gus listened to Lee Pettigrew at the Frank Merriweather Library (which is one block from the east side TOPS). He was supposed to be discussing the history of WUFO - a black owned radio station. Somehow the conversation veered to black Buffalo Police officers' recent allegations of Racism from their White officers. There were similar accusations against fire departments and enforcement agencies across the US this week. In fact, just before this program aired live, Gus returned to Merriweather Library to hear Sheriff John Garcia discuss "diversity" in the Buffalo Sheriff's Office. In truth, the exchange was almost exclusively about the lack of black and non-white Sheriffs in Erie County. Sheriff Garcia maintained few black people take the exam to qualify for being a sheriff. Importantly, some in attendance pointed out the testing sights are not always located near potential applicants. There were also strong suspicions that White people do not make a sincere effort to recruit black workers. Out in Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Lucas (black male) was asked to discuss the local fire department's embarrassing record of workplace racism and so called sexism. Mayor Lucas challenged the tradition of hiring from the same local batch of White males for every job opening and then wondering why the Racist, unprofessional culture never changes. We also discuss Texas Governor Greg Abbott's staunch opposition to "diversity," "inclusion," and "equity" being discussed in the workplace. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the debut 6th study session on Mário Filho's 1947 The Black Man in Brazilian Soccer, translated to English by Jack A. Draper III. Brazilian football (soccer) legend Pelé died near the end of 2022 at the age of 82. The only player to win 3 World Cup Championships and voted "Athlete of the 20th Century" according to many White journalists and historians, Pelé is classified as black and was born in 1940, a measly 52 years after Brazil abolished formal enslavement of black people in 1888. Racists didn't even allow black people to play football/soccer in Brazil for many decades. We'll learn about the System of White Supremacy in South America and one of the greatest athletes of any sport. The ugly violence and hooliganism following former President Jair Bolsonaro's electoral defeat is still being investigated while Brazil's ex-commander remains on sabbatical in Florida - prepping for spring break apparently. Last week we learned how a black male player's name, Gradim, was turned into a Racist insult for all black fútbol players. Gus T. noted a distinction between the way black players and non-white players with a White parent are described. The so-called "mulatto" players are labeled dandies who spent inordinate time on their hair and wardrobe. Filho describes how black players were assaulted by White players during the ball games, and Racist fans would cheer on the illegal, anti-black violence. Black players were not allowed to complain or retaliate. Gus observed that this book was originally published in 1947, which is the year Jackie Robinson would have heard the same admonition to refrain from retaliation. Gus T. Renegade gives his first report live from Buffalo, New York. "The Worthless Negro from Virginia" trekked across the continent to be in attendance for the sentencing of Payton S. Gendron who plead guilty to Racist domestic terrorism and the killing of 10 black people at an east side Top's Buffalo grocery store in May of 2022. The sentencing was a highly emotional, even traumatizing experience. Gendron killed 10 innocent black people - which is a disgustingly highly number of fatalities. But he also wounded others who survived. There were so many Victim's relatives in the court room, it was staggering to comprehend the personal impact of this terrorist attack. While some of the black victims did recite biblical verses and announced forgiveness for Gendron, many black people voiced unmitigated hatred for Gendron (and his absent White parents). In fact, several members attempted to beat down the 19-year-old convicted White Terrorist. The thick presence of armed sheriffs immediately ended the conflict, and Gendron was swiftly whisked to safety until the sentencing could resume. The teenage Race Soldier received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. He has a pending federal trial where he could face the death penalty. She's written dozens of reports and dumped 'buckets of words' obfuscating her own commitment to Racism. She told us about her trips to Mexico - she's bilingual - and her non-white "friends." An assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa #RollTide, Dr. Wallace is a Harvard trained epidemiologist with a doctorate in kinesiology from Michigan State University. We learned about her work a few weeks ago when Dr. Julie M. Stamm visited our program to discuss tackle football and brain damage. Specifically, Dr. Stamm cited Dr. Wallace's fascinating research that investigates "racial disparities" in knowledge about concussions. Specifically, her work suggests that White coaches, parents and scholar-athletes are more informed about concussions than their black counterparts at all levels. Frighteningly, black parents in Dr. Wallace's study demonstrated a high level of overconfidence about their understanding of brain injuries [Gus has seen this many times over the years]. We'll discuss this week's report from Boston University which once again showed that it's nigh impossible to play tackle football without damaging your brain computer. Images suggest many of these people could be classified as non-white. Ohio endured a man-made disaster when a train derailed this week forcing thousands to evacuate. White authorities feared a chemical contamination and ultimately incinerated toxic substances, sending dangerous gases into the atmosphere. We have been told the air, water, soil and environment are now SAFE and the evacuation order has been rescinded. PBS news reports, "Testing on rivers, streams and drinking water wells will continue throughout the area and in the nearby Ohio River." We'll also hear about a plot to "lay waste" to Baltimore, Maryland. A White duo, Sarah Beth Clendaniel and Brandon Clint Russell, were allegedly "Driven by their ideology of racially-motivated hatred, the defendants allegedly schemed to attack local power grid facilities" in Baltimore - a predominantly black populated city. And we recognize the passing of Lorne Cress Love who reportedly just transitioned. White Men bragged about having leisure time and flexible scheduling to play ball games. Filho also described how a "mulatto with squinty eyes," Alfredo China, would violently discipline the "street urchins" for playing fútbol near the catholic church. There was an extremely graphic passage where Alfredo China is said to have delighted in using his knife to castrate the big, black, leather soccer balls. The homoeroticism of the text drips from each paragraph as Filho details how many of the non-white soccer players slept on the floor of the club house because they had no wear else to go. White players would "sleep over" frat-style only after a "bender" - they had a comfortable bed in the waiting. This sort of spartan existence resulted in a disproportionate number of non-white players contracting tuberculosis (TB). A sociology professor at York University in Canada, Dr. Wu is a non-white scholar who explores health, politics, and “Race & Ethnicity.” Gus suspects Dr. Wu may have been born some place other than North America, but we’ll be sure to ask. Gus found Dr. Wu’s report, “Anti-Asian discrimination and the Asian-white mental health gap during COVID-19,” most interesting. Dr. Wu investigates how being blamed for the pandemic and the daily Racist insults aimed at so-called asians had an immediate and widespread impact on their mental health. We’ll discuss the nuance of his findings - which include that foreign born asians showed better mental health results than both White people and asians born in North America. During the exchange, Dr. Wu talked about the research showing that all non-white people report better mental health and confidence than people classified as White. Gus is wonders if this is true, and if so, why this is the case.
