This is determined by taking all of your assets, minus all of your liabilities, leaving you with your net worth. You hear people say often that net worth is a direct measurement of how much wealth you have, but I feel that your net-worth won't show up for you if you don't have self-worth. Ep 180180: Radically Change Your Life in One Year with Charlie "Rocket" Jabaley

In This Episode You Will Learn About: Having it all and not being happy Being successful yet feeling lost Charlie writing a contract with himself What he left behind in order to start his new life Biking across America Charlie's love of generosity Money mindset Why Charlie values transparency Being a delusional optimist Resources: Website: charliejabaley.com IG: @charlie Twitter: @charliejabaley Mastermind: fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind Show Notes Today I'm sitting down with Charlie "The Rocket" Jabaley, and you guys, this may be one of the most inspiring episodes I have had this far. Charlie Jabaley was once a highly successful music manager for celebrity recording artists, but decided to walk away from it all when he realized it was leading to an unhealthy future. Since then, Charlie has biked across the United States, lost 130 pounds, and lives a more full and healthy life all around. We go deep into why Charlie left his business to pursuit better health, and the different ways he went about creating goals, training for an IronMan, and biking across the country. Charlie also talks about creating the vision of Charlie Rocket, how he manifests change, and why it's so important to give back. This episode is so incredible, and serves as a great reminder that we can strive for wealth in all aspects, not just monetary. Question Highlights: What career background did you come from before your transformation? How were you so successful in some aspects, but so lost in others? What did you have to leave behind in order to begin this new life? What sparked biking across America? What was that like? Where did this drive for generosity come from? What did money mean to you before this journey, and what does it mean to you now? What has made you choose to be so transparent? Quotes "Boil pots of water, not lakes." "I just want to live a great story." "Too many people in this world are "you should" people, they get up on stages or they get on Youtube or Instagram and they say, "You should do this, you should do that," and I never say those words, you should." "See, money is going to magnify who we are." "Nobody is going to believe in you until you get down the road, so you've gotta have this delusional optimistic mindset." Charlie Jabaley wasn't your typical kid from Georgia (United States). Sometimes labelled, "the chubby kid", Charlie was a dreamer. Knowing that he needed to use his imagination as a weapon to survive the playground, Charlie created his first persona, CEO Charlie. He had other ideas. Like pursuing the life of an athlete. But, that had to wait. As a young CEO millionaire of Atlanta Hip-hop management company, Street Execs, he sold millions of records, changed the trajectory of how to market to millennials, and guided the careers of influential artists like Grammy award winning 2Chainz. However, while all the success was pouring in, he battled depression, binge eating, crippling insecurities and a brain tumor. To everyone on the outside, CEO Charlie was crushing it. On the inside, he was dying. Unhealthy, unhappy and unfilled, Charlie retired in 2017 at the age of 29 from both the music industry and the name "CEO Charlie". He made the decision to reinvent his life in pursuit of his childhood dream to become an athlete. Charlie Rocket inspires those around him. He's lost 135 pounds. Became vegan. Ran 3 marathons. Reversed the growth of his brain tumor. Became an Ironman. Just finished his nationally known Dream Machine bike tour across America. Is currently on the cover of Runner's World Magazine and secured partnership with Nike. Charlie has rerouted his ambition of making millions of dollars into his current mission to TRANSFORM 1 MILLION PEOPLE'S LIVES. His name is Charlie Jabaley. His story isn't over yet. Ep 179179: Have Solution Based Conversations

In This Episode You Will Hear About: Solutions based conversation vs. a wildfire conversation What types of conversations we have more of What sparked this topic Offering solutions rather than reinforcing the negativity How to shift your conversations Turn the conversation around Adopting zero tolerance policies Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at [email protected]! For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com. Show Notes Today I'm going to share a little life hack that is an ABSOLUTE must. This hack is going to help you attract those next level people and relationships into your life, and be the person that others want to be around. Heck, this is the one hack that will even help you make more money. That's right, I swear by it. So, what is this life hack? Always, always have solutions based conversations. Question Highlights: I want you to think about the last 5 conversations you've had. Who have them with? What did you talk about? Have they been solutions based, or were they wildfire conversations? What is the difference between a solutions based conversation and a wildfire conversation? Which conversations do we tend to have more of? Why do I think this topic is so important to share with you all? Once I realized the types of conversations I was having, and decided to shift them to being solutions based instead, everything changed. Why do we default to wildfire talking rather that rise to a solutions based conversation? Simple, it's easier to jump on the bandwagon. So, what can we do? Be hyper aware of what conversations you are participating in. Try to turn the conversation around. Adopt a zero tolerance policy for wildfire conversations. Quotes "There's very few things you can talk about in life where you cannot offer somebody some great advice and make it a solutions based conversation." "It's easier to just join on the bandwagon, join in on the gossip, join in on the complaining." "We train people how to treat us, we train people what conversations we are willing to have, not by what we say, but by what we do." Ep 177177: Four Reasons You're Not Yet Rich . . .

Time for a little wake-up call, friends! There can be many reasons why you're not yet where you want to be, but today I am going to go over four of them. When Lori and I were doing only around 250K a year we got sick and tired and decided to just "GO FOR IT"…and went from 250,000 to over 1 million in one year. Your Goals Are WEAK. You're shooting too low…thinking that you'll just take slow, incremental steps to wealth instead of really exploding! Why not think bigger and set bigger goals? You're not setting the bar high enough. And then when you do, just work backwards, and think out of the box. So what kind of crazy, amazing goal are you going to set this year? Your Tribe ISN'T Helping You. While your tribe might be amazing, great people, but if they haven't been to where YOU'RE SHOOTING FOR, then they have nothing to teach you. It's time to find a new tribe of people who you surround yourself with. You don't have to tell your current one to "peace out" but you need to reach out to additional, different people who will up-level your tribe. You're Too Damn Conservative. You're probably placing too much value on your current "stability" and if you place too much focus on that, you will not be able to take the proper "risks" that you need to take in order to go to the next level. Make a radical change to get a radical new outcome! Take some risks when it's smart. You're Mentally Weak. I say this with the most love possible, honestly. You're scared and afraid of what people might say if you fail or make changes. You're afraid you might look silly. You're not willing to push through the uncomfortable part and endure a short-term struggle in order to reach that long-term success! You're not willing to turn off the tv and pick up a book to learn what you need to learn. Your mental discipline needs a good workout! "These four reasons are why you DESIRE to lead a better life, but you are not yet leading an EXTRAORDINARY life." You see, these four reasons have been holding you back. And again, I say talk about these with some serious love for you. They're the reasons that you DESIRE to lead a better life but you're not yet living an EXTRAORDINARY life. If you can get these four areas cleaned up and corrected, just imagine what your life could look like in a matter of months! In This Episode We Talk about: Why your tribe could be holding you back Four reasons you're not yet rich and how to make some changes in order to fix them How you're probably setting crappy goals and don't even know it Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Ep 175175: How to Set Wealthy Boundaries

In This Episode We Talk about: Setting boundaries Upholding boundaries Seven wealthy boundaries to help ensure strong finances Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at [email protected]! Show Notes Today's episode is all about setting boundaries – more importantly wealthy boundaries. First of all, setting boundaries in all areas of your is a very valuable thing, because when you set these strong, non-negotiable boundaries it naturally helps you achieve a stronger financial situation. So how and where do you set these boundaries? First and foremost, you must remember that: "Boundaries are set and kept, not by what you say, but by what you do." You can't expect people to respect your boundaries if you don't respect them yourself. "It's only a boundary if you reinforce it." When you're able to follow through and actually uphold your boundaries, others respect it as well. When you only talk about it without following through, it's just a wish, am I right? The following are a few "Wealthy Boundaries" that are a good starting point: Paying yourself first. Make a commitment to put away a certain amount of money weekly or monthly to build up your savings. My tip? Set up an auto deposit so it's done without you having to even think about it. Spending habits. What are you splurging on? How often? For me, I love watches and if I wanted to I could buy one whenever I wanted, but I've set this boundary. "I can never buy a watch unless it has a great story or accomplishment attached to it." Who you take advice or coaching from. You wouldn't take financial advice from a broke financial advisor, would you? No. Make sure the person who's doling out the advice is a proven expert and can actually help you. Lending money to friends and family. This is so important, especially as you continue to create more and more wealth. It's not saying you can't loan money to friends and family, but be sure to create clearly defined boundaries. Business budgets. These boundaries are often forgotten, but so important. Set budgets and stick to them, regardless if they're monthly, quarterly, annually or by percentage. Start and end of the work day. Make sure your start and end of your work day works for you and keeps you operating from a full cup. My day doesn't officially start until 11 a.m., and while I have no "end" time, my day always ends with a non-negotiable family walk. Giving. It is so important to give, but make sure you're not giving too much or too little. It's better to continuously give 10% of $100,000 than it is to give everything that's left over. Remember, being left with nothing promotes scarcity, which only pushes abundance away from you. I hope these wealthy boundaries have helped give you an idea of where you'd like more boundaries in your life! Regardless if you use the above or create new ones for yourself, always remember that boundaries only work when practiced and reinforced regularly. Good luck! Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at [email protected]! Show Notes Today I'm calling us all out – myself included. It's time for us all to do better. In an effort to explain why I'm making such a profound statement, I'm going to tell you about a conversation I overheard the other day on a walk. There was a woman talking on her phone and I heard her tell the other person, "I can only afford to give you $20…I know it's not enough, but I hope it at least helps a little." First off, I want to commend two people for doing the right thing. One person is asking for help and another is offering help. But here's the thing, it's not good enough. How sad is it that one person only has an extra $20 to give a friend in need when she could be making more money. "We simply have to do better." Now believe me, I'm not judging either one of these people because I've been the asker and the giver. We've all fallen on hard times. Of course, we can chalk it up to "life happened to me" when something goes awry, but I can honestly say in my moments, "I happened to me." Do I believe bad things should happen to people – definitely not, but if this message stirs up something inside you, please hear it has a wake-up call. We have to do better. The woman I overheard is a good person but she wasn't making good money. She was missing the tool of money, and while it may seem like a no-brainer, we need more money to help more people. How amazing would it have been if she could have given her friend $2,000 without batting an eye? Amazing, right? What if we ALL could do that? Personally, I know I can do better too. I would love to give away millions and millions of dollars like some of my friends currently do but I'm not there yet. But just imagine it, if we all made enough money to solve every problem out there what this world would be. I hope this episode inspires you do keep striving to make a different and do better. Show Notes I first heard today's guest, Nick Santonastasso, speak at the recent THRIVE event I attended and I am so grateful I did. Not only is his story remarkable, but just the way he delivered his inspirational message on stage sent goosebumps straight up my arms. Born with Hanhart Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that left him without legs, an underdeveloped right arm and a left arm with only one finger, Nick's parents were told early on all the things he would likely never be able to do. His parents threw that list away and Nick has been shattering those glass ceilings ever since. As a fitness model, inspirational speaker and now author of the book, Victim to Victor, Nick is instilling his can-do-anything attitude and energy with the world. This was such an awesome conversation and I can't wait for you to hear the wisdom that comes out of this 22-year-old's mouth. Check out how you can get a free copy of Nick's book in Resources! Question Highlights: What is one of your superpowers? What is one of your favorite books? What is one thing you're challenged by right now? Who is someone who's changed your life? What can you tell us about Hanhart Syndrome? Do you remember the age you realized that you were born differently? What was it like growing up "different?" When was the first time that you shifted from having down-and-out feelings to being the inspiration you are today? What role did your parents play in who you are today? What is your one biggest piece of advice for parents today? What would "doing enough" look like? What do you believe the purpose of earning a significant amount of money and being successful is? What is the message of your book, Victim to Victor, and what makes it so special? Quotes "What are you willing to do to pivot?" "You need to focus 110% effort on whatever you're doing or you're going to sell yourself short." "If you believe in yourself to do great things, why would you sell yourself short?" "It's not selfish to level up." Nick Santonastasso is a medical miracle. Not only is he one of four people alive with the rare genetic condition, Hanhart Syndrome, the inspirational keynote speaker is an internationally known bodybuilder and fitness model – despite missing both his legs and one arm since birth. The high-energy youth shares his amazing story, showing people that anyone can thrive if they have the determination and willpower to go after what they want. When Nick was born, the doctors handed his parents a long list of things that he would never be able to do. Nick's parents politely thanked them and threw the list out. They raised Nick the same way they had raised his three able-bodied older siblings and instilled in him never to let the world tell him what he could or couldn't do. Ep 171169: How to Beat Perfectionism

In This Episode We Talk about: Seeking the good in everything Tips to help you change your perspective from negative to positive Retraining your brain Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at [email protected]! Show Notes Today I'm going to let you in on a secret hack that I believe accounts for all facets of my success – in all areas of my life. "Seek the good in everything." OK, I get it. This sounds really basic and is not a unique concept, but it's a game-changer. Here's a short story. A friend recently shared an article about a person who has given $10,000 to different people a handful of times. This particular instance showcased a waitress being left a $10,000 tip. Later the video they captured of the act was shared on YouTube to promote their brand. My friend told me, "what a shame that they're using this for self-promotion." Now, if you've followed me for a while, you know that I likely wouldn't call this part out about the situation. What I would call out is the fact that these people gave someone who likely needed it, $10,000 because I tend to see the positive of the situation. My friend and I went back and forth on this, but what's your take on it? Do you see the good in the situation or are you quick to find the potential negative? "You have to intentionally seek the good in every situation in order to get good results." When something bad happens to you, do you go into victim mode ("Poor me, why does this always happen to me?") or do you find the growth and education that can come from such moments? Now, everyone is free to think whatever thoughts they want, but I can tell you from personal experience that seeking the good will net more success in your life. So let's say you're the person who does tend to see the more negative side of things. I challenge you, for 30 days, to try looking for the good. It is possible to re-train your brain to think positively. Here are a few tips to help: Decide you're willing to try this concept to start seeing the positive. Come up with a mantra. Something along the lines of, "I seek the good in everything I come across." Catch yourself when you gravitate toward a negative though and quickly reframe it! This is crucial in training your brain to see the positive. I think you'll find that once you're able to see more of the positive, more success and opportunities in all areas of your life will follow. "People want to lock arms with people who see the possibilities of the world – not the hurdles." If you accept the challenge, please be sure to let me know over on Instagram! I can't wait to be blown away with all the positivity! Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

Ep 170170: Feeding 1,000 Kids per Day with Success with Jeff Ragan

E

I'm so excited to have my friend and fellow masterminder, Jeff Ragan, on the show today. As the founder of KiZE Concepts, his story really showcases what it truly means to be generous. Seeing food as something that links us all together, he took a risk with his peanut butter "fudge-like" bar and founded KiZE Concepts in an effort to change lives through food, service and charity. Jeff admits that the process has always had its challenges – especially since he knew nothing about running a business – but it's been an enjoyable fight nonetheless because he knows he's helping others (KiZE helps feed 1,000 kids a day in Haiti) and inspiring others to do the same. Get ready for a knowledge- and inspiration-packed episode that will have you motivated to give more in all areas of life. Jeff's energy is contagious and I can't wait to hear what kind of an impact our conversation has on you! In This Episode We Talk About: Where the idea of KiZE originated Jeff's 3E Principle (Easy, Enjoyable and Energizing) What gives Jeff energy The many KiZE packaging struggles and iterations Why Jeff doesn't want people to think his company's generosity is for marketing Being unified by food KiZE's love-based business model Generosity and giving Being authentic and realizing it's not about you KiZE's mission work in Haiti Resources: Receive 20% off any order by using the code CHRIS HARDER at https://kizeconcepts.com/shop Instagram: @kizeconcepts, @thekizeguys Email Jeff at [email protected] See How Your KiZE Support Helps Feed Those Around the World: https://youtu.be/JhM3BcQUw-Q Question Highlights: What is one of your superpowers? What is one thing you're challenged by? What is one of your favorite accomplishments? Where did the idea of KiZE come from? Were you a budding entrepreneur your entire life or did it begin in college? Where did your generous and loving heart come from? When did you decide to put your "fudge" into a wrapper to sell to people? What was the toughest thing you had to overcome with your business? Can you apply the 3E Principle to business? Where did you get the skill set to build your company? When did feeding 1,000 kids a day become a part of the KiZE mission? Is it better to give out loud or give in the dark? What's next for KiZE? Quotes "Life happens when you give it away." "Be great, love people and spread joy." "The only risk for me was not taking one." "Between experience and referencing others' experiences is how you learn." "The desire to reach your destination keeps you going." "Resources + Relationships = Real Life Change for the Those Being Given to and the Giver" "See and feed the need." "You're either a grower or a slower." "The pursuit of your dream is your dream." Jeff Ragan is the joy-filled Founder/CEO of KiZE Concepts Inc., an Oklahoma City-based healthy lifestyle company with a mission, passion, and purpose to change lives through food, service, and charity. KiZE's flagship product is the KiZE Bars – clean & simple, gluten free, non-GMO, energy bars with a life changing give-back component. Each KiZE Bar helps create local and global impact. KiZE's global initiative is a community building and transformational relationship in Haiti where 1,000 kids are fed daily in Haiti. Other efforts include providing resources and relationships to create the family-centered orphan home, school, and community to help not only survive but thrive! Jeff's goal is to change the world for the better by "feeding" people in mind, body, heart, and soul so they live the best life possible and help others do the same. Ep 169169: How to Beat Perfectionism

In This Episode You Will Learn About: Being paralyzed by perfectionism Steps to help eliminate perfectionism Taking action regardless if you're ready or not Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at [email protected]! Show Notes Today I'm speaking on a topic that is all too familiar to me and that is perfectionism. I've had so many missed experiences because I was so worried about what people thought and what I really should have been worrying about is getting results. I can't even imagine how many opportunities I've missed out on just because it wasn't "perfect" in my eyes. While I still experience small instances that pop up on occasion, know that everything I share with you is from my own personal experiences and will help you eliminate some, if not all, your perfectionism tendencies as well. I know it may seem difficult now, but I assure you that it's not as bad as you think. Just take it one step at a time. "Your dreams are counting on you to get over your perfection and start taking action." Face and acknowledge your perfection. It's necessary for you to feel the pain so you are spurred to take action. Declare it to the world – especially to those people who you're afraid to tell. Declare that you're going to change your habits. Heck, tag me @chriswharder so I can cheer you on! Start talking more out loud about your fears and mistakes. You'll be surprised at the response of those who want to support you and also hear how you overcame any mistakes or learned from them. Choose to become more committed to action over perfection. And make sure to reward yourself – in a big or small way – for taking that action. Chart your actions even if they're imperfect (that's the idea). Make it your new, imperfect normal. Make a list of why you are epic just the way you are. Think of it as another form of gratitude practice. Do it daily, weekly etc. – but make it a regular practice so it gets locked in. Take it a step further by making a list of 20 people who you love or look up to in your life and next to their name, write a mistake they've made. Review and notice that you still love them despite their flaws. Read more biographies of big names who you look up to and you'll realize that all of them have made a disastrous mistake one time or another and they still were successful. Give yourself hard deadlines. Get comfortable with releasing something – whatever it is – even if it's not perfect. You can always tweak or make changes later. "Stop getting ready to get ready." If you practice even a couple of the above habits consistently, I know you'll be able to smash through the confines of perfection not only in business but in ALL areas of your life. Now, go take action! Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out www.ForTheLoveOfMoney.com

Ep 167167: Building A Great Business is an Act of Love

I'll be honest with you, some nights it would be easier to shut down at 5, crack open a beer and Netflix and chill with Lori – and put my worries away until the next day. But deep down I know that I won't be satisfied with that when I know I've got big things to do and lives to change. Building a great business is truly an act of love. We don't want to waste the gifts we've been given. This doesn't mean that everyone should be an entrepreneur – trust me when I say that we need people with other gifts that usually support people like me. But being an entrepreneur takes sacrifice, and here's four reasons why it's also an act of love. You're building solutions people need. You're improving peoples' lives with your solutions. If you don't provide these solutions that people need to protect your ego, time and energy, it's actually an act of selfishness. You're creating jobs. All the supporters of your business? You're creating jobs for them, showcasing their talents and giving other gifts along the way. You're creating wealth the world needs. You're not just creating wealth for yourself, you're creating wealth for others. Think of the trickle effect it has when you buy a house. Banks, title companies, builders, insurance etc. – the list goes on and on. You're inspiring others to do the same. When you build your business and share in your area of expertise, you're showing others the way by example. "You create an entrepreneur by being an entrepreneur." So you see, building a great business is an act of love – for yourself and others. Doing anything less with the gifts that you were given is actually an act of selfishness. Not sure about you, but I'll choose love and inspiration over selfishness any day. In This Episode We Talk about: Why building a great business is an act of love Four ways that prove building a business is an act of love Why building a business inspires and creates wealth for others Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Ep 166166: The Courage to be REAL and AUTHENTIC with Steve Weatherford

Today's guest and former NFL star, Steve Weatherford, and I have been trying to connect and get him on the show for a year now. But we both came to the same consensus that this specific timing was meant to be. With so many revelations happening recently for this former American football player, Steve feels called now more than ever to uncover all of them and share them with others in podcasts like this (and on his own new podcast show – link in Resources). Today, Steve and I do a deep-dive into all aspects of his life, past and present, focusing not just on what he's done or doing now, but most importantly about what he's passionate about and what lights him up. Steve gives permission to all men out there who feel they need to portray an "alpha" man to share their vulnerability instead. We don't have to focus on our inadequacies – we get to focus on the wins, too. This is such a life-changing (possibly life-saving for some) episode for so many reasons and I'm so excited for you all to listen in. Be sure to let both Steve and I know what your takeaways are! -- Question Highlights: What do you really want to be known for? Do you feel like there's a value in sharing your journey as you're becoming this entrepreneur and kind of leaving it the past you're know for behind? Why now? What made you go down the toughest path I'm guessing you've gone down yet? How did you make the shift? Can you participate in philanthropy now from a place of the right intention – and for you? Is it better to give in the dark, give out loud or something in between? In This Episode We Talk about: Being authentic Where Steve's at in the middle of his transcending journey The importance of sharing vulnerability Performance anxiety in the NFL Why men don't have to suffer alone Why you don't have to cover up anxiety or pain achievements Why the "doing" isn't enough The two different ways to take action Why Steve wants to inspire people Steve's new podcast, The Steve Weatherford Show Celebrating the moments when you show up as yourself The power of imperfection What Steve did to capture his father's attention Why Steve doesn't look for praise anymore Steve's take on giving And so much more… -- Steve's Thoughts… "I don't want my life to be about things that I've done, I want it to be about the things that I am." "I am more than what I do." "If how you feel about you is predicated of others' opinions of you, you're not powerful – you're powerless." "I'm leading a crusade for alpha men to show vulnerability in order to gain strength and mastery of themselves." "My greatest achievement is being myself." "If I serve people, I need to know what the pulse of my community is." "You can never fail at being yourself." -- Steve Weatherford is a former American football punter for the New York Giants. He also played for the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets. Steve is a dedicated husband, doting father, an all-around family man, avid health and fitness role model, a nationally recognized philanthropist, and a Super Bowl winning Punter. Most recently, Steve released his own podcast, The Steve Weatherford Show. He has been recognized nationwide for his charitable endeavors including being the recipient of the coveted Wellington Mara Award for outstanding community service. Ep 165165: How Do Couples Make Financial Decisions Together

One of the most popular questions I get is how Lori and I as a couple make financial decisions. It's not surprising when you see everywhere just how stressful finances can be. So today, I'm sharing a few game-changing ground rules that will help you feel better about your and your partner's relationship with money. Set your ego aside. Regardless if you're the sole bread winner or you both work, no ONE person is at fault. You should both have a strong interest in your financial goals. (If you don't, this is your wake-up call to start!) This is a team effort and no one is meant carry the burden alone. Ensure there are no secrets, share your fears and keep those old financial stories out of it. "Living in the now is the only way to have certainty of your financial future." Learn your partner's communication style. This is imperative. Keep in mind that your partner will not hear you if your message is being given in a way they cannot receive. Trust me. When Lori and I first began working together, this took us 6 months to figure out. Have a budget and set goals. Make it fun and dream together. If you've never had a budget, I recommend checking out Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. "Your budget is your financial roadmap to your goals." Schedule regular celebrations. Yes! Make "money dates" something to look forward to. Once a month shoot to go out and celebrate in your favorite way and take this time to acknowledge what went well, what mistakes were made and what you need to work on. Truly aim to air out any issues at this time unless it is more urgent. "What doesn't get celebrated won't be repeated." In closing and in order for these steps to work, you must practice integrity when it comes to achieving your goals. Make sure you're adhering to the above and your feelings around finances – especially as a couple – will lead to more harmony and abundance in all aspects of life. In This Episode We Talk about: Four tips that will change the financial game for you as a couple Why no one is at fault Learning different communication styles Why you need to schedule in regular celebrations Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Ep 164164: Riding The Success Roller Coaster with Fitness Celebrity Natalie Jill

Today's conversation with the one and only Natalie Jill of Natalie Jill Fitness is long overdue, but I feel like we're connecting at the perfect time all the same. Having been friends with Natalie Jill for quite some time now, her initial rock-bottom comeback story is amazing, but after experiencing another setback recently, her story is both inspiring and eye-opening. Natalie Jill's journey began 15 years ago when she found herself at rock bottom – she was a divorced single mom who lost her house, her retirement and gained a lot of weight. She created a vision board to inspire her to make changes, but took it one step further by posting the process on social media for accountability. Not only did she find accountability, she also found a following that quickly led to a $3 million-plus business. Seemingly having it all figured out, it was a shock when Natalie Jill realized that her "following" wasn't hers and she saw a dramatic downslide to her business. With changing algorithms and a saturated market, she desperately attempted to turn it around by throwing money out to find a solution. Hundreds of thousands of dollars later, Natalie Jill went back to her initial strategy and that was to make authentic connections again – and it's working like a charm. Natalie Jill gets super honest and vulnerable throughout this episode and reveals what it truly means to be an entrepreneur – the highs and the rock-bottom lows. No stranger to those lows, it definitely made me reflect on how I can better connect with people both in my programs and following. What strides could you make if you connected on a more authentic level? -- Question Highlights: What's your favorite quote? What is your superpower? Who is someone who's changed your life? What is one of your biggest accomplishments? [When you hit rock bottom], were you more scared that people were going to find out just how bad everything was or were you more scared that your life was changing and transitioning with so many changes so quickly? What was the first steps/thoughts in reconciling where you were at and stepping forward? How did you start to build momentum? How much money have you invested in "coaches" that weren't the right fit? What would you have done differently? You've gone from broke to a $3 million business and back to broke – how has your happiness varied with different levels of income/net worth – or has it? How did your friends change or show up as you went through declines? What's the most important lesson you're drawing from your 15-year roller coaster journey? What are you building now? Where do you think the next safest place to build a following should be? In This Episode We Talk about: Natalie's rock bottom moments The first steps Natalie Jill took to move forward after her rock bottom How accountability and sharing her journey led to her initial success Making authentic connections What went wrong with Natalie Jill's success Social media and how it impacted her success Getting back to being authentic Failures and self-doubt Natalie Jill's new podcast (Leveling Up: Creating Everything from Nothing) Why Natalie Jill is shifting her focus to smaller group interactions Natalie Jill's new book, "Aging in Reverse" (releases May 2019) And so much more… -- Natalie Jill's Thoughts… "Excuses or solutions – you decide." "Those little steps, over time, add up to big things." "The only difference between where we are now and where we want to be is our thoughts and actions." "It was never about my own specific vision, it was specifically about what are they asking for next and let me create that for them." "It took crashing and burning for me to finally realize what I learned 10 years ago at my rock bottom. It's about being vulnerable, being real and connecting with people and it's not about what somebody else is going to do for me." "My happiness does not relate to money – it relates to connection." "It's not a following thing, it's a connecting thing." -- Once upon a time, Natalie Jill lost her house, her retirement, her marriage ended and she gained a lot of weight. She was at ROCK BOTTOM. At the time she was in her late thirties and felt doomed. She had all kinds of nagging "False Aggravating Truths" that she believed about herself. She felt too old, too broke, too overweight and too depressed to do anything. She had so many Self Imposed Stops that were in her way. Something had to shift. Her beliefs weren't working for her. She started by changing her STATE and decided she was NOT those self-imposed stops and created a vision for MORE. Ep 163163: What Happens If You Lose It All? A Question from Instagram

There's a misconception out there that only the people who are down and out struggle with their money mindset. I couldn't disagree with that more – very successful people also feel the same fear. In fact, the other day, I received an DM from a young, super successful woman on Instagram. (By the way, I love getting messages and questions from you so feel free to send them my way @chriswharder). This 24-year-old woman shared how while she was presently super successful, she was terrified of being successful and having it ripped away. See, when she was younger (age 14) her father lost his job and to make ends meet she ended up having to work 5-7 jobs to keep the household afloat. Can anyone relate to this? I know I can. Following are the five tips I shared with this woman to help her work through and manage her fear: It's better to have something to begin with then to never get it in the first place. It's good to have a healthy fear so you keep working hard. Don't see it as fear, see it as urgency. Be present. Live in the now. You're doing great – enjoy it! Stop worrying about something in the future that may or may not happen (hint: it probably won't). Your abundance that you have right now is because you had the talent to create it. You can't lose that ability to create more of it! "It's not your current assets that make you rich. It's your ability to create wealth at any time." Hire a coach to help you keep the right perspective and keep growing. Whether it's one on one or a mastermind, up-level your tribe! Thanks so much again to this woman (who knows who she is) for sharing your story. You've helped so many others and helped me turn it into an incredible episode in the process. I can't wait to hear who else has a similar story – be sure to share with me on IG! In This Episode We Talk about: Money mindset One listener's fear of losing it all Chris' five tips to move through fear Resources: Aligned Enrollment is OPEN but closes Thursday, Sept. 27! Ep 162162: From 5 Million Dollars to Broke - A Money Mindset Lesson with Ashley Stahl

E

I don't even know where to begin telling you about today's guest, Ashley Stahl. I met Ashley in my mastermind group, but it was recently that I really sat down to hear her story, and wow! Prepare yourself to be in awe of her mind-blowing journey so far. While now a career coach and writer with successful business, her career journey began early on at age 23 in Washington D.C. at the Pentagon managing a high-level counter-terrorism program. She excelled in the position and knew that it looked good on paper, but she knew it wasn't the right fit when she wound up with a bag over her head in a routine drill. Ashley knew she could continue on, but she also knew that she wasn't staying true to who she was. Ashley left the Pentagon and high-tailed it back to L.A. where she grew up, found another job in intelligence in the private sector, but also started a side hustle as a career coach. That side hustle is now a thriving business, and as you'll hear in this episode, it was full of highs and lows (millionaire to broke to millionaire). Be sure to listen in as she walks us through her challenging moments and how she's still working on releasing limiting beliefs around money, success and relationships. Ashely offers a broad spectrum of empowering advice and I hope it inspires you to do more as well. -- Question Highlights: What's one thing you're challenged by? What's one of your superpowers? Who is someone who's changed your life? What is one of your favorite accomplishments? Can you tell us about your counter-terrorist job with the Pentagon at only 23 years old? How did you get your job at the Pentagon? How did you make and lose $5 million? When did your success go the wrong direction? What's the verdict? Have your key people stayed in your life despite your success ups and downs? How has your view of money changed? Do you have a favorite moment of giving? In This Episode We Talk about: Ashley's education path How Ashley wound up working in Washington D.C. at the Pentagon The magic of human connection Ashley's "You Turn" moment Ashley's career path from the Pentagon to career coach Navigating through a loss and struggle money mindset Automated webinars Why Ashley had the belief that success and fear always occurred together How attorneys and Ashley sabotaged her success False urgency The work Ashley is doing to release the belief that people are going to screw her over The role generosity has played in Ashley's life And so much more… -- Ashley's Thoughts… "Never rob someone of their rock bottom." "If you're a wobbly coach, you're going to get a wobbly customer." "I became an entrepreneur because I'm creative, not to fix things." "Quitting can be for winners. There is a glory in quitting." "The trauma wasn't in losing my money – that was a gift." "It's priceless to be able to go out in the world and be yourself." "Worthiness is our birthright." -- Ashley Stahl is an angel investor, writer and career coach who empowers job seekers around the world in finding their purpose and landing more job offers. At age 23, Stahl managed a high-level program for the Pentagon, for which she was named a "Top 99 Foreign Policy Leader Under 33" by Diplomatic Courier Magazine and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. Next, she was named Power 30 Under 30 leader by Apex Society for her work running the Global Threat Intelligence Team at a global political risk consultancy. While preparing senior officials for the front lines of the war on terror, Ashley launched her leadership firm, Ashley International Inc., which offers private coaching and unparalleled online programs to empower Millennials to find their purpose, land more job offers and increase their income. She's worked with thousands of job seekers in 25 countries via her online program, the Limitless Career Lab. Ashley Stahl is a columnist for Forbes on the topic of Gen Y, careers and leadership, and also blogs for her own career blog at www.ashleyinternational.com. Her work has been featured on FOX News, the Wall Street Journal, SELF Magazine, the Washington Post, TEDx, Newsweek and more. Ep 161161: How To Bust Through Your "Ceiling", FAST!

Some may find it hard to believe but everyone, and I mean everyone, has a ceiling. Yes, even Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey or any other wildly successful person has one. And here's why: "Everybody has a ceiling or they'd be higher than they are now." For example, let's say a person is making $100K a year. Why aren't they making $200K? Because they have a ceiling. You can change the numbers, but you'll still get the same answer. But here's the good news. Every ceiling can be lifted. If you need a visual, think about those cheap drop-down tile ceilings that people used to put in their finished basements. When installed, yes, there's a ceiling there, but it can easily be busted through to expose more space above it. And you can do the same with your "ceiling." Here are five steps to help you do just that. Acknowledge that you have a ceiling and you've hit it. Now look for patterns and see how you can change it. Choose to bust through the ceiling. This is your moment to burn the boats! "Make sure it's a real choice to bust through your ceiling – not just a desire." Choose new beliefs. Choose to believe what is possible. Look for evidence and beliefs to support why you're worthy. Choose new rituals. Reinforce your beliefs with new rituals. Read more, take new courses, set better boundaries, meditate more (or start), schedule forced creative time – the options are endless. Just know that your new beliefs won't stay if you don't reinforce them. Uplevel your tribe. Your current tribe may be holding you back. This can be difficult, but know that you're never leaving anyone behind because they always have the choice to come along. Choose people who have been where you want to go. "Most people are in a habit of choosing people that make them feel good, not people that make them do better." All of the above steps build on top of one another and you can't support one without the other. Because we know how important it is to have guidance when it comes to navigating this, we've created our life course, Aligned, that helps you choose new beliefs and rituals – and also connects you to a new tribe. Enrollment just opened this week and we're so excited to help others on this journey! Join now and receive a special bonus! Ep 159159: Who Should Have The POWER? The Good Guys or The Bad Guys

I've been wanting to talk about today's topic for a while and am excited to dive in to whether or not the statement "Money is power," is true. And if it is true, who should have the power? The good guys or the bad guys? First off, I do believe that money is power because we all get an opportunity to "vote" with our dollars. The more money you have, the more say you have. People with more money are often looked up to more as a guiding example and they tend to have more of a responsibility with that power as well. They're leaders and they don't hoard their power, they share it. The only catch? We want power in the hands of good people who are going to do the above. This same principle is shared in the book, "The Traveler's Gift" by Andy Andrews. Here are a couple of his quotes that sum it up nicely and also mirror a good portion of the For the Love of Money philosophy, too "To do great deeds, great power is essential." – Andy Andrews "If money is power, do not run from power. Gather it as you would the finest fruit. Power in the hands of a good person is like a drink of water on a hot summer day. It refreshes everyone with whom it comes in contact with." – Andy Andrews Andy goes on to describe that there are three different levels of power: Those who have enough money and power to get by Those who make enough to make things more comfortable for their families and sometimes a few others Those who make enough to change the world. They ignore what's popular and do what's right to lead hundreds and thousands of others toward the right thing. We all have the capacity to do more, but so many of us fear it. I encourage you to stop being afraid to step out and grab that power! And similar to what my podcast says every week: "Grab your power and use it for good!" Ep 157157: Why Isn't This "Good Enough?"

Has anyone ever asked you, "Why isn't this good enough? You've already done x-y-z, so what do you want to do more?" Most often the people who ask have good intentions, but they don't understand that you're called to do bigger things. And this can be painful for others or make them feel threatened for a couple different reasons. First, they may just feel threatened and afraid that you'll move on and leave them behind. And secondly, it forces them to look in the mirror and where they're at and they're not liking what reflects back. But what they don't realize is that almost none of us have done what we're called to do – at least all aspects of it. We're not built to remain the same (just look at nature!) and that means that we have to keep striving for more. "Life isn't meant to be good enough; it's meant to keep growing." So if anyone questions you, don't feel offended. They're just not tapped into their higher calling yet, and you're entitled to pursue anything you want. This isn't good enough because you're called to change more lives by following that calling and living a better life each and every day. In This Episode We Talk about: Why you should be unapologetic for what you have Why what you have may not be good enough Why your quest for more threatens others Resources: VIP Days with Chris. Ep 155155: Be Grateful For Your Seeds

I just returned from the last leg of my two-month vacation and I feel recharged and freaking ready to go! So today I want to remind you to be grateful for your seed. What the heck do I mean? You see, we all have special little seeds inside of us and that in turn becomes your business and eventually your wealth. Those little seeds could be a variety of things, such as a special talent or skill, an idea or some sort of innovation that no one has. Regardless of what it is, we all have them, but the problem is that we're not grateful for them. We're not grateful because that seed hasn't turned into a full-blown crop/harvest yet and we're comparing our seed to another's crop (that yes, was once a seed). Here's where people need to step back and realize that only time and consistent effort will turn that seed into a crop. Don't compare your journey to someone who's already put that time/effort in or is in a completely different area of expertise. "Your seed is unique to you and that's why it's valuable." Stop being pissed at the rainy days when things are seemingly putting your seed at a standstill and understand that we need those days to help us grow – literally! When it comes to comparing – just stop! "Look at each other's seeds with admiration, not envy." It's not a competition. Instead, figure out a way that you can help those who are already excelling (or maybe someone who's not). I assure you that when you collaborate and help others, your business will grow faster and bigger as a result. Know that if you're putting in the effort and taking care of your seed that it will eventually grow into a bountiful harvest – it just needs a little (sometimes a lot) TLC from you. "Be grateful for what your seed is about to be, but also what it is today." Your seeds are unique to YOU so don't deprive the world of its greatness. My goal is for us all to be happier, healthier and wealthier farmers reaping a huge harvest! Who's with me? In This Episode We Talk about: Why time and consistent effort are essential when it comes to turning your seed into a crop Why we shouldn't compare our seed to another's The importance of collaboration Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Ep 154154: Life Coach To The Stars, Tim Storey

It was such a privilege to have my friend, Tim Storey, on the podcast. No matter how long or short our conversations are I always leave them a better person – and I know you will too. His words will set a fire in anyone's soul! Tim's story began in Compton, California where his family of seven lived in a two-bedroom apartment. It was there that he learned to "think big in small places." That thought compounded later on in a life-changing conversation with his sixth-grade teacher when he was told, "I think you are brilliant." From that moment, Tim bought into that idea, took it to heart and committed himself to helping that brilliant come out in some way. Fast forward to today and let's just say, Tim's teacher knew what he was talking about. Since that day, Tim has nurtured that seed of belief with faith, taking action and believing in a little bit of magic, too – and loves sharing that knowledge with others. I hope you enjoy our inspiring conversation as Tim discusses miracles, taking power steps, the difference between a God idea and a good idea and what to do if you find yourself in a season of setback. Can't wait to hear what you think and if you experience any breakthroughs as a result! -- Question Highlights: What is one of your superpowers? Who is someone who's changed your life? What's your favorite speech you've ever given? What's one regret that you have? Could you share a little about your upbringing? How does someone go from believing in miracles to expecting them? How early did you know/expect that you would do big things? Is it our responsibility to go find these moments of inspiration or should we just wait around and trip across them? As a Godly man, what is your view on gathering wealth? How does someone get into a place of finding these God ideas and how do they take action? Can you tell us about your Utmost app? Is it OK to give out loud? Or are you supposed to keep it to yourself? In This Episode We Talk about: Tim's upbringing and life-changing conversation with his 6th grade teacher Miracles – believing, expecting, receiving and releasing them Surrounding yourself with those with similar mindsets and motives Taking power steps (steps with purpose and intent) How the Jackson 5/Michael Jackson made Tim believe in magic Intentionally going after knowledge and information that builds faith and makes us better people Building faith on a daily basis What to do if you're in a season of setback What a God idea is vs. a good idea When and why you need to stop and take inventory Partnering with power for a comeback Humbling yourself to learn what you need to know The Law of Harvest Tim's favorite moment of giving And so much more… -- Tim's Thoughts… "Think big in small places." "Feed your faith, starve your doubt." "You cannot give what you don't have." "The way to get out of a difficult situation is to work your land." "Success is finding the need and filling it." "God has blessed me so now I can be a blessing." "An utmost God does not want almost children." -- Tim Storey is an acclaimed author, speaker and life coach, well known for inspiring and motivating people of all walks of life, from entertainment executives, celebrities and athletes to adults and children in the most deprived neighborhoods in the country. Tim has traveled to seventy-five countries and spoken to millions of people. He often meets privately to counsel high-profile leaders in various industries. Ep 153153: What You Have TODAY Does Not Determine TOMORROW'S Abundance

If you're experiencing feelings of lack, scarcity or worry right now, I hope my message today helps free you: "Your abundance tomorrow is not determined by what you have today." We all have these feelings at one time or another, whether we're super successful or barely making ends meet – and that's OK! But we must do our best to get back into an energy of abundance by taking one step forward (big or small). Today, you may not have what you want, but I bet you have a great idea and some skillsets that could help you put it into action. You never know what tomorrow will bring… Maybe with the help of another thriving individual, you'll put it into action and have a major breakthrough, but you have to keep taking action. Because there's only one thing that will create the abundance for you…and that's YOU! It's up to you to go just one more step further than you already have. "Your future is in your hands." Take 100% responsibility for where you are today. Yes, the good and the bad. This may feel either frustrating or empowering, but by taking responsibility, you have control of your life. You receive the blame and the credit no matter what. Sure I'm abundant right now, but Lori and I had our down-and-out moments too. There's nothing special about me. I have a few talents and a whole lot of gaps to go with it. That's why it's up to the individual to fill in those missing gaps and take action to fill them. We are all just one step, one moment away from finally creating the abundance we want tomorrow. It's just up to us to go and grab it! Are you ready? You've got this. Ep 152152: How to Connect with ANYONE with Alex Banayan

E

Imagine being set on a trajectory for the majority of your life, only to wake up one day questioning whether or not you're on your path or a path someone else put you on. This is what happened to my guest and author, Alex Banayan. From an early age, Alex's parents' dream was for him to become a doctor, and up until his freshman year in college it was what he thought he wanted to – until he realized it didn't. Upon this realization, he attempted to seek the answers for how other successful people got their start – only to realize that such a book didn't exist. Overcome with inspiration and a drive to write one on his own, he knew he had to find the funds to back this passion project. Having trouble thinking about anything but this project, the day before his freshman year final exams, he made the decision to trade an all-nighter studying for exams with one on how to hack The Price Is Right. With a slim chance of actually winning, Alex beat the odds, won a sailboat, sold it, and used the prize money to fund his quest to learn from the world's most successful people. Throughout our conversation, we talk all about his seven-year journey to write The Third Door and all the rejections, "flinch" moments and courage that took place to make it happen. Alex is an EPIC storyteller, which you'll hear in this episode and his book. There were so many goose-bump-inducing moments and nuggets of valuable insight shared and I can't wait for you to experience all of them and let me know your thoughts, too. Of all the authors I've interviewed, this is literally my favorite book so far. Go out and grab his book ASAP – you won't be sorry! -- Question Highlights: Who is someone who's changed your life? What's your favorite speech you've ever given? What's one regret that you have? How did you end up interviewing the world's most influential people? How do you hack the Price Is Right? How many names made the list and how many made the book? Who was the coolest person you ended up meeting? Who made you the most nervous/prompted the biggest "flinch?" What's your advice to get over your "flinch?" What was the worst rejection you received? Were there any people along the way that pulled you back on track and didn't allow you to quit? Who did you want to interview that you weren't able to? Where did you get this obsessive persistence from? What would you say is the single-most-important lesson of your book? Now that you've spent 7 years knocking down doors, is it fate or luck that finally allows these things to happen? Or is it good old-fashioned making it happen yourself? How do you view money, success and wealth after writing The Third Door? In This Episode We Talk about: How Alex went from an 18-year-old pre-med kid whose parents' biggest dream was for him to be a doctor to interviewing some of the world's most influential people Alex's big win on The Price Is Right Where the list of people started when he first set out to write his book, The Third Door The journey of getting through to influential people What the crippling "flinch" is The fear that was present in all the successful people he interviewed The difference between fear and courage Rejection and two lessons Alex learned from it What fueled Alex's persistence when writing his book Why Alex believes luck accounts for 90% of his success The role generosity played in his book Why you don't become a billionaire on a salary And so much more… -- Alex's Thoughts… "The most extreme expectations are the ones that aren't explicitly said." "Courage is acknowledging how scared you are, analyzing the consequences, and then deciding that you care so much about it you're going to take one thoughtful step forward anyway." "The core belief was like a thread that, even in my darkest times, I could hold onto and it kept me from calling it quits." "The only thing worse than an unproductive hour is quitting all together." "Persistence is the means of achieving the goal." "The soul of the book is possibility." "You can give someone all the best tools and knowledge in the world and their life can still be stuck, but if you change what someone believes is possible, they'll never be the same." "The strongest lessons are the ones that are never said." "The hard work is the last 10%." -- Alex Banayan is the author of the national bestseller The Third Door, which chronicles his seven-year quest tracking down Bill Gates, Lady Gaga, Warren Buffett, Maya Angelou, Steven Spielberg, Jane Goodall, Steve Wozniak, Jessica Alba, Larry King, and dozens more of the world's most successful people to uncover how they broke through and launched their careers. Banayan has been named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, Business Insider's Most Powerful People Under 30, and been featured in major media including CNBC, MSNBC, Fortune, Forbes, Billboard, Businessweek, Bloomberg TV, Fox News, and CBS News. An acclaimed keynote speaker, Banayan has presented the Third Door framework to business conferences and corporate leaders

Ep 149149: The Surest Person in the Room WINS

Do you ever wonder why some people succeed and connect with people right away, while others, when given the same opportunities, just can't seem to pull it together? Over the years I've noticed one common trend that sets these people apart, no matter the kind of sales, business or opportunity – and that's certainty. "The most valuable thing you have is swagger." I was able to observe this same trait while at an entrepreneurial event this week with 15,000 people. Everyone at this event has the hopes of being really successful, but realistically only about 1,000 will actually see those results. So if all these people were offered the same products and opportunities, why isn't everyone really successful? It comes down to your energetic posture. When you approach someone, do you begin your conversation with confidence and excitement? Or do you tend to act shy and unsure of yourself while tripping over your words instead? When you're first meeting someone and/or presenting them with an opportunity, they want to look at you and see that you a.) Know where you're going b.) How you're getting there and c.) Know who you want to come with you. Sounds simple, but within that first 30-60 seconds of meeting someone, people are often already making the decision to link arms with you – or not. "The surest person in the room wins." Now this isn't to say that you won't get nervous – we all have different areas in our lives that bring about that flutter, but it's your choice to show up either big, confident and sure of yourself or small, meek and unsure. "You don't have to show up how you feel – it's just a choice." So stop telling yourself that you can't do x-y-z because you're too shy or introverted. It's just a story! Every single one of you can show up as the most certain and confident person you know you are at the core. And it doesn't take years to do! Give it a few practice runs, get out there with certainty and it's inevitable that your success will follow suit! Ep 147147: How To Grow Your Audience

Today I'm going to give you the answer to the question of why your audience might not be growing – regardless of what business you're in. Brace yourself, it's really quite simple. The No. 1 reason your audience isn't growing is because you're not putting information and content – that's shareable – out there. But was does it mean to be truly shareable? It's about blowing the minds of your current audience so much that they are compelled to share it with their audience – and then their audience becomes your audience. See how this can turn into powerful ripple effect? Your content has to be so DANG good that it practically forces others to share. Here are three ways to increase your chances: Start creating a better experience. This can happen simply by always having the posture and intent of putting something extraordinary out there. Do it more often. Create, create, create…share, share, share. Ask others to share and give them directions. That last point may make you feel a bit awkward, but people crave specific directions and certainty. And besides, you likely won't receive what you don't ask for, right? So here's a little test… go over to Instagram, give me follow @chriswharder and share one of my posts, too. Make sure to tag me so I can send you a thank you! I love hearing from you all and can't wait to hear what happens when you implement the above tips! Ep 145145: An Amazing Story of Giving vs. Judging

Lori and I just wrapped up our trip to Europe and wow, it was one of our greatest experiences to date – not just enjoyment wise, but we learned so many things about ourselves and other people. One particular story and lesson we've taken home taught us about perspective on how people think, but don't take action. While having lunch in a beautiful square in Spain, we overheard the conversation of a group of women on vacation at a nearby table. They were talking about another person they knew – someone who presumably had a lot of money. They were appalled that someone could buy a $60,000 watch when they could use that money instead to feed people. Of course, my ears perked up because this was clearly a money mindset issue. But before I go further, please know that by sharing the following story my goal is not to brag; nor is it to judge these women. After all, we're all on different journeys, right? "Make a difference, don't make a judgment." Their judgments all come down to perspective. So yes, a $60,000 watch is a great deal of money to an everyday family with an average income. But if this person has $100 million or billion, it likely doesn't affect how they give. What if they annually give away $50 million? To this particular person, $60,000 may very well be a drop in the bucket compared to the impact they're making already. As these women continued discussing, suddenly a beautiful woman entered the square. She was a woman who I could tell was beautiful inside and out, but it was clear that she was mentally and physically challenged – and homeless. A bit later, we heard this angelic voice sing one of the most moving songs we'd ever heard. We looked around and around and found ourselves looking at this same woman. Our minds were blown and I felt compelled to get up, walk the 500 feet to where she was standing (with a cup in hand for money), and give her 50 Euros. She turned so quickly she dropped the cup filled with coins. I bent down to help her pick it all up and place the 50 Euros in her cup. When she realized what I had given her, her face lit up with a smile so big I couldn't contain my own, and it was in that moment, even though we didn't speak each other's languages, I could see the profound gratitude she felt. The woman continued to sing and weave her way through the square and eventually made her way near us and toward the table of women. She stopped at our table, rewarding us again with a bright smile, and proceeded onward. With her cup extended for money, these women brushed her (as well as other performers) off. This was a clear example of people preaching and talking about how someone else should give, but when given an opportunity to improve someone else's life, they didn't. I tell you this story to demonstrate that there are a lot of people out there judging, talking and preaching, but all of that adds up to nothing in the lives of people who actually need a handout. What does add up are the people who have a few extra dollars to give in the moment when someone shows up that could be given to. So, do you want to be one of the talkers or the do'ers? I think you already know what my answer is. Ep 143143: Are You Being Abundant OR Financially Irresponsible??

Today we're talking about the huge difference between being abundant and financially irresponsible. You see so many people want to be abundant but they're using abundance and increasing their financial thermostat as an excuse. "Abundance without responsibility is stupidity." Sounds harsh, but here's what I mean. If you're living outside of your means, perhaps buying high-price items (homes, cars etc.) when you don't have the secured money to do it, you're not actually living in abundance. On the contrary, you're likely attracting more lack, and you feel fraudulent and broke because you're not ready to spend like that. And let's be honest, when you're broke it's hard to feel abundant. I can talk about this firsthand because Lori and I were once living this way. We had the house and the cars, but the recession it and we felt the complete opposite of abundant. It's my hope that by sharing this that you'll remember this lesson and avoid going through something similar. So how do you know when to feel abundant and buy nice things, or when to hold back? It sounds too easy, but your soul knows. Your gut knows. Tune in and listen to what it feels like when you're going to make a purchase. To help keep it on your radar, I've come up with seven simple rules/steps that will help clue you if you're ready to start spending more. Set aside an emergency fund that covers one month of expenses. Work to stop buying anything with unsecured debt (credit cards) that you're not going to pay off right away. If you have unsecured debt, start paying it off as quickly as you can. This is also the point where I believe you should start working in an occasional splurge (I don't like the all or nothing approach). Focus on your savings by working up to 6 months' worth of expenses Once you've reached a savings of 1 years' worth of expenses – start funding your retirement. The 1-Year Rule. At this point, once you can buy and want a bigger-ticket item, wait ONE year, then buy it. Want to speed up the above process? Invent more income! Once you start doing the above, I know you will attract true abundance and in turn do great things for yourself – and others! Ep 141141: My Quarter Million Dollar AMEX Bill...WTF??

Picture it… You receive your monthly credit card statement, open it and find that the balance due is a quarter million dollars! You'd be blown away, right? Well, let me tell you... I sure was. At first, I felt instant feelings of anger, panic…and scarcity. Yes, I still have flashes of that money mindset belief, but this one knocked the wind out of me. I wasn't expecting that balance – honestly, it wasn't even on my radar. My range of emotions went from holy crap – $250K could buy me a nice home in my hometown of Green Bay, WI to how the hell did we spend that much money in 30 days? Were we spending irresponsibly? Will this be the new norm? Then, I slowed that train down and realized we had a lot of expenses last month. I hosted my mastermind group and we go ALL out. We spent two weeks away on Lori's book tour with our team. Add to that social media ads for the book, a charity donation, international travel and more…well, I'd say we got an awful lot for that quarter million. So I reversed that scarcity mindset and instead used it as a moment to practice abundance and celebrate it. It was up to me to take this opportunity and zero in on how fortunate we are to have the money to pay this bill and to see just how far we've come over the years. Not to mention how many AMEX points we're getting out of this bill, too! ;-) It was time to practice what I teach and turn this into a celebratory moment. While I had 30 days to pay my bill, I made the decision to pay it right then and there – because I could. I put on some happy music, poured myself a glass of scotch whiskey and paid it in full. Why put off paying it when it will only put out signals of lack and fear to the universe? While some may be critical of my transparency, I didn't share this story to be criticized. I shared it to demonstrate that we all still struggle with our money mindset beliefs. Will these beliefs ever go away? No, but you'll learn to handle them more quickly and with more ease because you have the tools to walk you through them. I hope this episode inspires YOU to celebrate each and every one of your wins – big and small. Ep 140140: How to Be a More Confident Speaker with Yahya Bakkar

The name Yahya in Arabic means "alive," and my friend and guest, Yahya Bakkar embodies his name to a T! Full honesty, when I first met him in our mastermind, I thought he was just this loud person putting on an act, but within 10 minutes, I realized it wasn't an act at all – that's just who he was and it was awesome! In fact, I discovered that it was these traits that I wished I possessed more of. And since that time, Yahya has given me permission to be louder, bigger, more self-expressed and perfectly imperfect. After hearing everything Yahya's gone through, however, it's hard to believe that he's such a positive and high energy person. From complicated parental relationships and struggles with religion to following his heart in terms of his career and marrying his high school sweetheart, Yahya discovered what it means to be fully and unapologetically self-expressed and now strives to help others do the same. Whether you want to become a better speaker or just become more self-expressed, our conversation is a must listen. Can't wait to hear what you take away from it! -- Question Highlights: What's your favorite quote? What's one of your superpowers? What's one thing you're afraid of? What's one of your favorite speeches you've given? What's one of your favorite accomplishments? What did your upbringing look like? Looking back on your life, what is one piece of advice to you'd give to those who feel stuck? How does someone who is standing in fear right now become as confident as you? How do you view money? What are your two main intentions this year? If you could empower us by giving us three tips, what would they be? In This Episode We Talk about: Yahya's complicated upbringing and his relationship with his parents How Yahya's wife opened his mind to other faiths Why Yahya dropped out of college with only one semester left Where Yahya got the idea to be a motivational speaker/coach Resourcefulness Having faith in yourself or a higher power Leveraging faith to guide you through your decisions Being fully and unapologetically self-expressed Yahya's two main intentions for this year Tips to becoming a more confident speaker And so much more… -- Yahya's Thoughts… "Real, genuine and authentic confidence comes from a grounded sense of self-esteem and self-worth." "Know you're valuable because you exist." "I'm self-centered – not selfish." "The more income you make, the more impact you'll have." "You're so much more than what confines you in the material world." "Ditch the script and embody your message." -- Yahya Bkkar is a motivational speaker, confidence coach and health educator who has spoken at Harvard University, Georgia Institute of Technology, TedX and various nationally recognized conferences and organizations. He's the author of Beyond Motivation and The Ultimate Guide to Teen Life, and has trained with the top experts in psychology, physiology and health. Born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, he first traveled alone to the United States at the age of 5. Like many people, Yahya faced a few challenges growing up. Yahya struggled to find his own identity because he never got along with his father and never met his birth mother. Despite his circumstances, Yahya did his best to put the missing pieces of his life back together by seeking professional help and finding his birth mother in Thailand after being separated for over 2 decades. Yahya's inspirational story gives people hope & reminds them to never give up on their dreams. He now lives in New Jersey and is married to his high school sweetheart. -- Resources Instagram: @yahyabakkar WorldClassSpeaker.com Get Yahya's 5-Step Blueprint to Become a World Class Speaker for FREE! -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 139139: I Found I Out That I STILL STRUGGLE With This...

This week, while going through the decision-making process of buying a new car, I had a surprising moment of self-discovery... I still struggle with my money mindset. Let me know if you can relate. Many of you know, that I previously owned a Ferrari, and it was a dream come true to own one. However, there were a couple reasons why this car just wasn't working for me anymore. Lori didn't enjoy the Ferrari like I did. Being more of a race car, it's not as comfortable, loud and just different to drive. She did like it and tolerated riding in it because she knew how much I loved it. Full honesty, there were a lot of times where I just felt weird about driving it. You'd either have people yelling nasty comments or others who when stopped at a light snapped pictures like paparazzi. It was a lot of extra attention and it didn't always feel good. Here was my dilemma though, and where I still realized I struggled with money mindset. I had some resistance around letting my Ferrari go, because letting that go meant I was also getting rid of that attention because even though it sometimes annoyed me and I loved it, too. By parting with the Ferrari, I was letting go of part of my perceived significance and what it represented. And that's when it hit me. I wasn't being unapologetic about wealth! I was letting what others thing influence my feelings – and this is exactly why I do a podcast around money mindset! You teach what you need help with the most, am I right? "We are all significance-seeking machines." And this is OK! It doesn't matter what significance we seek as long as it fits in with your moral compass and how you want to show up in the world. So if you haven't mastered your money mindset yet, don't beat yourself up – I haven't either! No one has. "Growth is the goal – not perfection." I obviously still have small money mindset battles in my head, but I'm learning from every one of them – and I know you will too. In This Episode We Talk about: How Chris discovered that he still struggles with money mindset Why we're all searching for significance Growth over perfection Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Ep 138138: Believing Your Way to Success with Danny Morel

E

I love hearing success stories – especially from individuals who found theirs from the ground up. My guest today, Danny Morel, is one of these stories. Considered the "man of the house" at an early age after a cross-country move from New York to California, he shouldered a lot in order to protect and provide for his family. From driving at age 13 to starting his first business at age 18, he knew he was wired for more in life. Since that time, Danny has run successful businesses, only to lose everything when the market crashed, and once again fought his way back to become the owner of several businesses that earn more than $40 million in revenue. Crediting much of his success to his thought process, he unknowingly (and luckily for us) lays out a step-by-step plan to help others get what they want, too. You definitely don't want to miss this inspiring and motivational conversation. Oh and if you're in the L.A. area July 11-13, be sure to get to tickets to his Relentless event. There will be some incredible speakers and I'm so bummed I can't make it. Check out how you can get a free $199 general admission ticket in the Resources section! -- Question Highlights: What's your favorite quote? What's one of your superpowers? What's one thing you're afraid of? What's one of the most memorable speeches or messages you've ever given What's one of your favorite accomplishments? What did your upbringing look like? What is one of the greatest lessons/personality traits you took away from your situation from age 13-18? How did you think you'd be able to buy your mom a house by 21? What does it feel like to own businesses that earn $40 million in revenue? What's your advice for those people who aren't making it happen? How did you get such big names to speak at your Relentless event? Talk us through what "Morel means something" means when you say it to your kids. In This Episode We Talk about: How Danny's family struggled with their finances early on Danny's early driving experience at age 13 Danny's first business at age 18 How Danny learned to get comfortable with pressure Reverse engineering your plan to get what you want Danny's four-step plan to achieve your goals The difference between just action and "massive and inspired action" Hitting rock bottom when the market crashed and how he came back Why Danny believes in books, events and all learning Danny's desire to do things with excellence and in the biggest way possible Why real wealth and success come from a healthy mind and spirit And so much more… -- Danny's Thoughts… "I was always wired to want more in life and likely so because I didn't have it." "Pressure is privilege." "Biblical abundance doesn't mean you get a lot. It means more flows through you." "Wealth and success is the byproduct of a wealthy and successful heart and soul." -- Danny Morel is an author, broker, business owner and leader in the Real Estate industry who resides in Southern California. With over 20 years' experience in the real estate business as a coach, mentor and broker, he embarked on a career as a salesperson at 19. By 27 years old, Danny had earned 1.5 million in commissions during the course of one calendar year. Even more impressive was his ABSOLUTE commitment to creating a leveraged business. Danny successfully closed 150 transactions that year while only averaging 4.5 days a week of work, while others struggled to close 30 transactions while working 7 days a week. His passion for others led him to teach the EXACT principles he followed as a sales person to others through his brokerage that started at zero and within 5 years of opening achieved 800 million dollars in sales annually. In 2017, his brokerage closed nearly 1 billion dollars in sales volume in only its 6th full year in business. His companies have been featured on the Inc 500 and Inc5 000 lists as one of the fastest growing companies in America between 2015 and 2017. People that work with Danny experience transformations that are typically unheard of. 30, 50 even 400% increase in production within 12 months are common play. In 2017 he authored his first book, The Resilience Road Map to provide his step-by-step philosophy of success to entrepreneurs worldwide and launched M.PIRE University, an online coaching university for entrepreneurs now hosting hundreds of clients. When not working on improving the lives of others, Danny enjoys time with his beautiful wife, Claudia and their three boys. -- Resources Instagram: @dannymorel RelentlessEvent.com July 11, 12, 13, 2018 | Los Angeles, CA **Get a BONUS General Admission Ticket!** When you buy a ticket and following me at ChrisWHarder on IG, I'll pay for an additional General Admission ticket (value $199) for the first 10 people who message me with a receipt (I'm offering 5 and Danny is matching an additional 5!) -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.
