Ep 137137: How to STAND OUT to Stand Up for Your Message

I've been noticing lately that there are just too many people who are invisible that need to be seen and share their message with the world. Have you noticed that? Do you ever feel invisible? Perhaps while being an onlooker you wonder how someone's business is killing it, but you question why or how they're doing it. Here's one of the main reasons… they STAND OUT! Full honesty, it's hard to stand out today. There's so much going on in social media and there are so many people doing similar things, so you need to find a unique way to get noticed. "Crack the code and find out how to stand out to get your message heard." It's all about grabbing someone's attention by flashing something "shiny." Lori and I sometimes call it the "bait and switch." For example, Lori will show an image of herself that shows her abs, but instead of talking about fitness she'll talk about self-development and what she's passionate about teaching. It's all about getting people to take noticed and then teaching or telling your message. If you don't want to be invisible, it's imperative that you stand out. And this doesn't just apply to social media, it applies to everyday life, too. Make sure what you're putting out there not only gets you noticed, but supports your message. "If you don't catch people's attention, your great efforts to create impact will not be seen." Here are a couple tips to help you get started: Get resourceful. This means ZERO excuses. It's not about what you have, it's about using what you've got. It's about everything that makes you, YOU – your unique style, manners, sense of humor etc. Stop being so humble! Nobody is SEEING you. Stop worrying what other people are going to think and share your message. The right people will see it – trust in this. It's time for you to stand out in order to stand up! What are you going to start doing RIGHT now to start standing out for your message today? I can't wait to hear and see just how you're going to grab all of our attention! In This Episode We Talk about: Why it's so hard to stand out today What it means to "bait and switch" How to get noticed Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Ep 136136: How PLAY Can Boost Your Business with Rob Murgatroyd

It was a blast to sit down and talk with one of my best friends, fellow entrepreneur and podcaster, Rob Murgatroyd. He's changed my life in more ways than one, but I'm most grateful for him and our friendship because he taught me how to incorporate more play into my life. Because what fun is being successful if you can't enjoy it, right? Today Rob is sharing how he finds balance between work and play and why you're doing yourself (and likely your business) a disservice by not finding it. He admits that it's not always the easiest task, but if you focus on what you really want your life to look like and create the plans to go along with it, you'll be well on your way. It's my hope that this episode encourages and inspires YOU to get out there and PLAY hard! Question Highlights: What's your favorite quote? What's one of your superpowers? What's one thing you're afraid of? What's one of your favorite accomplishments? How does giving continue to drive you? How do you balance your chiropractic business, podcast and travel? What is the first step for people to help them see there's a light at the end of the tunnel? What do you find when you ask entrepreneurs about where they find their play and balance? How has tribe influenced your level of play? Why is it so imperative that we make time for play when we are so driven and successful? What's another example of a hard-driving entrepreneur that you've had a major influence on to play more and how has it influenced their business? Who's the perfect candidate for your new mastermind? In This Episode We Talk about: Why Rob felt compelled to fund a baby's heart surgery Why Rob is so passionate about traveling The balance between work and play Creating plans around what you want your life to look like Why the lives of high-level entrepreneurs are out of balance How Rob has influenced Chris and Lori's views on play Getting out of our comfort zones What Rob's "envelope goal activity" is all about Why masterminds work Rob's new and different mastermind that mixes business and play And so much more… Rob's Thoughts… "You are so much more than your business." "Once you change your physical environment, you come back refreshed with new ways of thinking." "There's nothing spiritual about a bread line." -- I have overcome my share of obstacles in order to architect the life of my dreams and uncover the key to lasting, meaningful success. Growing up in Queens (literally on the wrong side of the tracks), my early years were tumultuous, marked by hardship and violence. With home being a less-than-idyllic place, I clung to work and education as my ticket out of the bedroom I shared with three brothers, and the low-income reality of the life my parents couldn't seem to escape. The minute I was old enough, I threw myself into any job I could get my hands on, from washing cars at filling stations to washing hair in salons. In hindsight, the high-end neighborhood across the tracks (home to the doctors and lawyers) likely played an unconscious role in my decision to attend school to be a chiropractor. Post high school graduation, I moved to Atlanta to complete my training and never looked back. Over the next decade I built a successful chiropractic practice, welcomed my first child, experienced the heartbreak of a challenging divorce, found healing and redemption when I met and married my wife, and read a book that changed my life and uncovered for me the world of lifestyle-entrepreneurship. That book was The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris. Having spent my entire life thus far in relentless hustle mode, I was ready for the PLAY HARD side of the hard work coin. My wife and I wanted to escape the grind and travel the world, so we did. In 2006 we launched our travel/lifestyle Blog 'Jetset Life' and my all or nothing tendencies showed up for the party. Predictably, poppin' bottles on yachts grew old and I became aware that once again my life was out of balance and I felt disconnected and unfulfilled. THIS was the pivotal moment I decided to apply myself to mastering the counter-balance between the science of achievement and the art of fulfillment. From THIS, the Work Hard, Play Hard podcast is born. Ep 135135: It's OK to Change Your Mind

Today's topic can be a taboo topic to talk about because there are so many conflicting opinions out there as to why a person shouldn't or can't change their mind. While I completely agree that you can't change your mind on a regular basis, I also believe that if you don't like the path you're on, it's OK to change your mind and get off it. In fact, in this episode, I'm giving you "permission!" There are a couple moments in my life when I did the unthinkable and changed my mind – and they weren't small decisions at all. The first is my brief stint in college. I didn't want to be there. I wanted to be out in the world and making money, but I also wanted to make my parents happy. So I stayed and sabotaged my grades by not engaging (Books? Who needs those?) and excessive partying. Needless to say, I was kicked out. I share this story with you for two reasons… Don't take the roundabout way. Take the direct route. I was right! I made it to the outside world and made $75K in small-town WI – 20 years ago! Another impactful decision I made was to leave the small investment company I helped found. While we were very successful, it just never felt "right." Fortunately, I learned from the past and had a talk with my partner and bowed out of the business. FYI – this business has since done billions of dollars in investments. It goes to show you that it's not always about the money – it's about what makes you feel the best, too. "A lot of money in itself isn't necessarily worth it – fulfilling money in itself always is." Be prepared though. When you change your mind abruptly you'll likely have to change your mindset around different things as well. With big decisions often come many mini decisions to help support them. Whether it's your spending habits, living situation or lifestyle… nothing is off limits. But if it's keeping you on your path, it's worth it. "It's OK to change your mind just for YOU." When you follow your intuition and what feels right, good things are bound to come your way. Wherever you're stuck – be it in a relationship, your career etc., it's within your power to change it. How empowering is that? It is my hope that this episode gives you permission to change your mind when the path doesn't feel right. But once you do, make sure you follow suit and take ACTION. Ep 133133: Who Are You NOT To??

While on Lori's book tour I've found myself in a state of awe watching Lori serve others over the past couple weeks – even when sick. Yep, she was sick and still showed up and rocked the stage to help others make lasting changes in their lives. So it got me to thinking… With all these people in the room, including myself, I realized that ALL of us are capable of doing that based on the gifts we were given. We all have unique talents that we can use to create a solution for people in pain. "You have a responsibility to get over yourself and do this." Set aside those nerves, your worry about what others will think etc., and start serving. Can you imagine what this world would look like if every person had a solution to someone else's problem? So I ask you, who are you not show up and serve your solution? Keep in mind that everything is an energy exchange. Many people use money as that energy source, but it's not always the case. "When you gift your solutions to other people's problems you are gifting them energy." And by pushing out your energy/solution to more and more people, you have the potential to become wealthy. Don't let others suffer when you have a solution they need. So get out there, show up and serve others with your talents! Ep 131131: More People NEED YOU Than You Think

Today's episode is all about flipping your perspective upside-down and leaving you empowered to find more customers to build your dream(s) and wealth. Get ready… "There are more people out there who need you more than you need them." Here are two reasons why I love this statement so much. There are plenty of people that need what you have to sell whether it's a product, service, talent etc. You don't need anyone, however, you can desire people to partake in what you have to offer. Saying you need something comes from a place of lack, and we know that we don't operate from that place, right? We all have individual talents and abilities and we need to share them. Sure, there may be someone else or another company who's doing something similar, but they're not YOU. So before you let your inner dialogue run away with phrases of lack (I'm not good enough; no one wants what I have to offer etc.), realize that there are 7 billion possible takers in this world… The odds are clearly in your favor. "There is more than enough to go around." Isn't that empowering to think that there's just people who haven't found you yet? But don't get lazy… it's still your no. 1 job to find these people. Do the work, outreach, marketing and whatever else you need to do to make it happen. In This Episode We Talk about: Why people need you more than you think Why it's your job to find these people Banishing the negative self-talk around your skill, product etc. Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Ep 129129: My Millionaire Mornings

I'm addressing another popular question today and that's, "What do your mornings look like?" Let me start by saying that I think having rituals (whether they're in the morning, mid-day or evening) are vitally important to a person's success. These rituals are crucial to my and Lori's self-care, and let's be real, our sanity! Personally, mornings work the best for me. "There is no easier time to take control of your day than in the first 30 minutes of the day." Think about it… the first 30 minutes of your day are the easiest to control. For me, it's the first two hours, but that's the time that Lori and I have carved out of our day as "protected time." We put ourselves first so we can be the best versions of ourselves for others the rest of the day. Here's what the first part of the day looks like for me: Wake up and immediately say my mantra: "I am happier, healthier, wealthier and more fit than I was yesterday." 60-90 second prayer of what I'm grateful for. This list varies and is very child-like, but it really does set the tone of my thoughts for the day (hello, gratitude and possibility!). Pages before Swipes + COFFEE! OK, the coffee is optional, of course, but it's mandatory in our house! ;-) This is my and Lori's rule of reading a minimum of 10 pages before we hit our emails or social media. You never know what you will read or see that can send your day into a tailspin before it even gets started. This has been a game-changer! We used to do 20-30 minutes…or nothing, but recently realized that even 5-10 minutes is plenty to help visualize our day. Something is always better than nothing. "What matters is the consistency, not the amount of time." Moving my body. This is a staple of my success and every single day, there is at least one block of time where I'm going to get sweaty. After we're done working out, we get home, rinse off, and that marks the end of our "protected time." We start our day. Final words... "Dictate your day and your thoughts." Again, I realize that not everyone has the flexibility in their lives to commit to this same schedule, but aside from the workout, this is roughly a half hour of time that can help you start your day right. Don't leave your day to chance. Wake up earlier, break it into multiple smaller chunks of time throughout the day – just do what you can to control your day. In This Episode We Talk about: Why the first 30 minutes of the day is the best time to sneak in morning rituals Chris' morning rituals Chris and Lori's "protected time" Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind. Ep 128128: From Welfare to Millionaire and the Tools That Got Him There with Christian Mickelsen

I'm so grateful for all the amazing people I've met through my mastermind with Lewis Howes, and today I'm fortunate enough to talk with another fellow masterminder, Christian Mickelsen. I love diving deeper into his story as he tells us more about being on welfare as a child and how that lack of money made him feel then and how it affected his money mindset later on. Christian obviously overcame that lack mindset and it happened when he realized that he's always been "rich" – just not in the traditional way. He now helps others work through their feelings and fears through his coaching and Abundance Unleased events. This is one of the most empowering conversations I've had to date and I know that his insights will help propel you to the next level of abundance in your life and business. -- Question Highlights: What's your favorite quote? What's one of your superpowers? Who is someone who's changed your life? What's one of your favorite accomplishments? What's one regret you have? Can you tell us a little more about your upbringing? When did you start this journey to go from a poverty mindset to a master of abundance? What are the invisible forces that are holding people back? Is your event based on your book, Abundance Unleashed? How can people go to your event? When and where is it? In This Episode We Talk about: The childhood belief Christian had that when you were poor people didn't like you and when you were rich they did The shift that happened when Christian was able to release emotional ties to things (house, money etc.) How Christian incorporated vision boards into his life The top 4 things that drive Christian in life and business Why it's important to eliminate the invisible forces that hold people back Working through fears and other feelings using the "Peace Process" and the "Instant Miracle" Extreme abundance beliefs Christian's event "Abundance Unleased Live" Why all abundances (love, money, health and time) are related Why desires are here to make us grow And so much more… Christian's Thoughts… "If we want more abundance in our lives, we need to get clear on what we want." "Being alive is rich." "The richest person in the world isn't the person with the most money, it's the person with the most gratitude." "If you want to be rich now, start appreciating what you have now." "Having big goals forces us to become bigger people." Ep 127127: A Controversial Lesson to Share

Today's topic may be considered controversial by some and I may get judged for it. On the other hand, some may actually like it and have a breakthrough. Whichever reaction this episode sparks in you, I just want to clarify that my podcast is all about understanding how wealthy people think and giving you alternate ways of thinking when it comes to your views on money and how you want to embrace and pursue it. The following story is just one way to personify how wealthy individuals think and act vs. how the everyday person does. So, Lori and I went surfing this past weekend to recharge. We drove down to the beach, unloaded our boards and proceeded to the parking ticket line. Because it was a weekend, you can imagine the line was long (about 11 people deep from our position). Quickly figuring out that it was taking each person around 5 minutes to get their ticket, I knew I didn't want to waste nearly an hour to get ours. So, I walked over to the ticket attendant and asked what the fine would be if we didn't have a ticket. He said $50. With a ticket price of $15, I made the decision to park the truck without a ticket and pay the extra $35. Why? Simply put, the extra $35 wasn't worth my time. Nor was it worth getting ticked off and potentially putting a damper on our day. "Sometimes rules are just guidelines – depending on what your values are." Now I'm sure there were some people in line that saw me speak to the attendant and then park my car without a ticket, and thought, "what a rich asshole." But the fact of the matter is, I was just making a decision based on the result of my time/money equation. "Is it worth X amount of dollars for me to do Y?" Time is the most valuable thing you have, so use it wisely. I would love to hear your thoughts on this lesson. Please share if you had a breakthrough or if you think I should have followed the rules. I love hearing all perspectives. Ep 125125: When is Enough, ENOUGH?

Have you ever heard the question, "When is enough, enough?" It's a question I've gotten before and I totally understand why people ask it, but I'll be honest…I don't like it. The question instantly makes me feel judged even though it's generally someone's curiosity about what drives you. But the more people ask the question, the more you start to question yourself. Am I working too much? Lori and I talked about this very question the other day on our 10-mile walk. Yes, it's a long walk, but it's a great way for us to connect and also hash out questions/issues like this one. So we determined that for many, the answer is no, it will never be enough. And it's because that particular person is geared to keep going and it's that drive that keeps them motivated. "If we lost our ambition to create abundance, there'd be no extra abundance to share." I want you to think of all the good things being done in this world right now – a great majority of it is from people who have an abundance. Imagine if this "well" dried up? Where would the world be without the high performers/financial contributors of the world? It's these people who were given the responsibility of creating an excess of abundance. "Not everybody has been given the same-sized assignments in this life." This really is a beautiful thing. We were all given different wiring, different drivers and different purposes. If people don't understand where you get your drive from, it's not their fault – they're simply not wired that way. "Some people are called to organize and solve great causes – and some people are called to fund those missions." We all have our role. So maybe you're not creating the amount of financial abundance as others, but what other type of abundance are you contributing that another couldn't? I know personally, it will never be enough. Not until no one is starving, everyone receives an outstanding education, everyone is healthy, the world lives in peace and all natural resources are guaranteed to never run out. So go out there, continue to be unapologetic about your drive and do great things. In This Episode We Talk about: When enough is enough or why it's not How we are all driven by different things Why people don't seem to understand when people don't feel like it's "enough" Resources: Lori's book, A Tribe Called Bliss, is now available! Ep 123123: Does Money Bring You Happiness

Today I'm talking about the question I probably get asked the most in regard to my podcast, and that's, "does money bring you happiness?" This can be a complicated question, but I'll try to break down the complicated (not-so-complicated) answer. Money does indeed impact your happiness, but only to a certain degree. I'm a firm believer that money magnifies who you already are. If you're a giving person, you'll give more when you have more money. If you typically give less, you're not likely to give any more when you do have more money. You with me? "An unhappy person with bad habits simply becomes a wealthier person with bad habits." The money doesn't change the person – it just changes their income. But here's what money can do… "Having wealth increases the number of opportunities that you will find happiness." On a scale of 1-10, there's never going to be a 12 – more money doesn't change that. But there can be multiple occurrences of a 10. Money ensures that you'll have opportunities to have "10" experiences. Here's what I mean… If you're traveling and you stay at a Ritz or Four Seasons, you're checked in right away, people know who you are, there's more amenities, the hotel smells nice, etc. – it's a "10" experience. Whereas if you stay at a Hampton Inn or Motel 6, you'll likely have a nice stay, but the service isn't the same – it's typically just good. This applies to your car or family vacation, too. Money doesn't guarantee happiness, but it does provide more chances to feel happy or achieve or maintain that "10" feeling. So I ask you this, do you want a significantly higher number of peak moments (10s) and significantly lower amount of 1s and 2s? Then go out there and start chasing more wealth! In This Episode We Talk about: Why money magnifies who you already are How money impacts your happiness Why having money doesn't guarantee happiness Resources: Lori's book, A Tribe Called Bliss, is now available! Ep 122122: Creating More WEALTH Through TRIBE with Lori Harder

I'm always excited to interview my wife, Lori Harder, but today on the eve of the official launch of her book, A Tribe Called Bliss, I'm ecstatic and so, so proud. As the subjective husband, of course I would say this book is a must-read, but because I never sugar-coat anything and am brutally honest sometimes (even with my wife), objectively I would say the exact same thing. Today, I'm asking questions all about Lori's new book – why she wrote it, who it's for and how it can help you get your message out in the world with the help of a supportive tribe. Thank you all so much for your support. If you buy the book and love it, it would mean so much to us if you would write a review, share and/or gift the book to someone else. Ep 121121: The Middle of Your Mindset Journey

Let me start this off by saying I love receiving direct messages on Instagram and hearing all about your money mindset journeys. It helps me keep a pulse on what my listeners are struggling with and also what they're excelling at. So thank you in advance for keeping the messages coming. So, the other day I received a message from a woman who's had a great start with her money mindset journey, but she posed a great question… "What does the middle of the journey look like?" She's done the work necessary in the beginning and is finally at a point where she accepts and wants to celebrate money…so now what? What should she be doing? This is such a great question – and here's the answer: "The middle of your money mindset journey is doing the work to create it." Now that you have the right frame of mind, you're able to attract and accept more wealth. It's time to "do the work to create your wealth." This means starting your business, figuring out that extra way to earn income or finding that side hustle that will help. Full honesty, the middle is the LONGEST part of the journey – but one of the most fun. "You're going to overestimate what you can do in a year, but you will underestimate what you can do in a few." So don't get discouraged or frustrated if in a year you're not where you want to be. Money is infinite and it will find you in time. Be kind to yourself, set a realistic timeline and focus on the small, consistent steps that will get you there. I cannot wait to see how you all are DOING the work. In This Episode We Talk about: What the middle of the money mindset journey looks like What you do in the middle of the journey Learning how to produce the income you want Resources: A Tribe Called Bliss Book Tour See where Lori is headed and get tickets at ATribeCalledBliss.com For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 120120: Creating More Certainty in Your Money Mindset with David TS Wood

I am so inspired and proud to call today's guest, David Wood, a friend and mentor. I've learned countless lessons from him over the years and today he shares even more with you. Leaving home at age 15 with only $500 to his name, he spent many years backpacking and eventually landed in Canada. Throughout his journey, he learned early on to let go of the things that weren't working and move on to the next. This practice (along with the gift of certainty) served him well and he now coaches thousands of other people who are looking to become more successful and make it an impact at the same time. David is unapologetic about his success and life, and has a heart of gold – making it a point to give in some way, shape or form, on a daily basis. Tune in to hear all about his journey so far and also what he uncovers about me and my money mindset that I never even thought about! -- Question Highlights: What's your favorite quote? What's one of your superpowers? What's one thing you're afraid of? What's one of your favorite accomplishments so far? How did you get so much compassion? How did you develop your coaching style? When did you make the shift from troubled backpacker to the success story you are now? What is something that someone can do to gain certainty? Do you have any rituals or routine that ensures correct thoughts in your mind? What is something you're working through right now? When did you start to value money? What are the different money archetypes? Why do people have walls up around money? In This Episode We Talk about: How David gives on a daily basis Accepting others beliefs and still keeping your own How David went from troubled backpacker to success story The importance of certainty, transparency and authenticity David's daily rituals and routine How meditation changed David's life How David working on his focus to amplify his impact How David is enjoying living in the moment David's association with money growing up The four different money archetypes – hoarder, spender, money monk and avoider David's impactful moments of giving Why your money mindset is a learned behavior Why environment is so crucial when it comes to living your life unapologetically And so much more… David's Thoughts… "When you consciously live in the unknown zone, it's all about self-trust." "I never held onto things unless they were working." "Certainty is sexy." "The brain is not designed to make us rich and happy." "The only world you know is the one you're in." "It wasn't about being wealthy; it was about creating freedom." "It's not about how much money we make, it's about how that money works for us." "My wealth can only grow to the extent I grow myself." "Right time. Right vehicle. Right you." "The feeling of the need to apologize is because you want something that doesn't match the environment you're in." -- Crazy, rebel, misfit, troublemaker, are a few of the adjectives that have been used to describe David T.S. Wood, some others are, humanitarian, pinnacle leader, multi-millionaire, adventurer, master educator and goofball. David is as comfortable leading a team to the 19,000-foot summit of Kilimanjaro, "The Roof of Africa," as he is brainstorming with billionaires about changing the world. He has trained over "one million" students from all corners of the world, and regardless of the venue, the language they speak or the duration of his program, his students ALWAYS describe him the same way: fearless, transparent, authentic, hilariously funny, effective and life changing. His radical, non-apologetic approach is not for everyone; it's definitely not for the faint of heart, or for the person who is not ready for change, the person who is content to sit on the sidelines and watch the game of life being played out in front of them by others who are tired of the status quo or playing by the rules. David continues to work all over the world helping his students break through their fears, create freedom and design extraordinary lives. He likes to say, however, that his greatest accomplishment is being the proud father of his two son's Calvin and Ben. -- Resources: IG: @davidtswood FB: facebook.com/davidtswood Lori Harder's New Book: A TRIBE CALLED BLISS is Now Available! -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 119119: Should You Act As If...or Not?

You've all heard the phrase "fake it 'til you make it," but lately there's been a lot of talk that by doing so you're being inauthentic. Why act like something we're not and be who we really are in the moment? Well, I beg to differ and am a huge supporter of acting as if. Here's my reasoning… "When you act as if, you are literally taking the actions that the person you want to become is already taking." Acting as if is THE shortcut to getting you where you want to be. It also helps attract the right people and opportunities into your life and business. So yes, fake it 'til you make and act as if because what you're portraying is already in you, you're just nudging it to come out a little sooner. It doesn't change you at the core. Tough-love truth, nobody wants to do business with someone who isn't already acting as though their product is the biggest thing since sliced bread – unless YOU are acting as though it is. It's not inauthentic, it's actually more authentic because you truly believe in what you're doing. "Acting as if is just getting into the energy of the person who's already there." It's all about showing yourself (and often others) who you're about to become – even though you're not quite there yet. Because I believe that someday it's that energy that will help you become who you were meant to become. And why not take that shortcut to get there just a little quicker? What ways will you start "acting as if" this week to help propel your success forward? In This Episode We Talk about: The idea of "fake it 'til you make it" and whether or not it's unauthentic Acting as if you're already who you want to become Getting into the energy of the person who's already there Resources: A Tribe Called Bliss Book Tour See where Lori is headed and get tickets at ATribeCalledBliss.com For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 118118: Sales, Leadership, Confidence, and Cocaine with Zach Slobin

I am stoked to finally be able to have my friend and fellow entrepreneur, Zach Slobin, on since he hit the 7-figure mark. He's one of the most well-studied and philosophical people I know and I've had many a conversation with him about business and life – and now he gets to share his knowledge with you. While a huge proponent of networking now, initially Zach was against it after seeing his father's experience with it. But after a few different failed attempts (and some epic low points that included drugs and being broke), he turned it around to become a go-to source for sales and marketing advice. I have a feeling this conversation will spark breakthroughs for a lot of listeners. With some invaluable truths and knowledge bombs on human potential, Zach helps us all see that we are all meant for something greater and to live a life of abundance. -- Question Highlights: What's one of your superpowers? What is one regret you have? What's one of your favorite accomplishments so far? What is a belief you're questioning now? How did you get into the network marketing industry? How did you view money when your parents divorced? What do you see in network marketing that makes you so confident about it and what do you like so much about it? How do you help people get beyond fear-based thoughts? How did you cope with your low points? What makes you such an effective leader? Why are you so open and generous with your leadership? Why do people have such limiting beliefs around money mindset? What are you not taking action on but you soon you will be? In This Episode We Talk about: How Zach got into network marketing and why he is a huge proponent of it How Zach coped with his life's lowest points of being broke and regular drug use Finding the gift in your struggles What makes Zach such an effective leader Why Zach's such a believer in human potential Why we are all financially tied together The real reasons that people are scared to speak their message to others Why sales is so necessary Why money is just an energy Zach's relationship with money Trusting the process vs. going with the flow And so much more… Zach's Thoughts… "Money doesn't make or break who you are as a person, but it can certainly impact the ways in which you experience life." "People tend to see a reflection in your big moves as a reflection of their small moves." "If you weren't meant for something greater, you wouldn't have survived that one thing that you thought would kill you." "The best networkers in the world are the best storytellers." "We are all financially tied together." "Sales is merely an elegant conversation to help people get to an end result from which they can benefit." "I will choose self-reflection over arrogance and ego every day of the week." "You can either own your limitations or you can own your life." -- Madly in love with his wife. Natural philosopher. And producer of his own life. These three things pretty much sum up Zach Slobin and his insatiable desire to knock, question the everyday rules and then bend life to create massive freedom, joy, and abundance. After weathering life's natural ups and downs, being lost in "finding his purpose," and navigating through the inevitable entrepreneurial storms, he can tell you the stories of hitting several physical, emotional, spiritual and financial bottoms. He's the athlete who almost went pro, but severe injuries kept him from his dream. He's the top guy who walked away from a good corporate job (and the money), because it was suffocating. He's the man who wouldn't settle until he found his soulmate. And he's the entrepreneur who was so committed to excellence, he created financial freedom at just 34 years of age. Grateful for the lessons all the losses have taught him, one thing is for sure–he can show you how you to play the game of life and win it. As a Master Speaker, Trainer and Coach, Zach's greatest thrill in life is showing people how to go from where they are to where they deserve to be by removing the BS lies they tell themselves, so they can be, do and have ANYTHING they desire. Ep 117117: Are You Doing This For Others?

Today's podcast is about something really important, and whether you realize you're doing it or not. Are you lifting others up or are you accidentally holding them back? Here's what I mean… Let's say you have a friend who just released a podcast. You've always told them you support them, but are truly showing it with your actions? Are you sharing their podcast on social media and to your others friends? Are you listening to the episodes and commenting? If you're not doing those things, I'm not saying you're intentionally withholding that type of support, but actions speak way louder than words in terms of lifting someone else up. It also tends to correlate how they lift you up when you need it. "What you do on a regular basis is going to be done to you." Maybe you feel like certain people have "enough" supporters. (Hint: You can never have too many supporters.) The more action you take to support on the behalf of others, the more action they'll make in return. It's an amazing natural energy exchange! "Lifting people up is always an action." So next time you have a friend who's excited about something, releases a new product etc., go out of your way to support them through some action. And when you do, you'll find that not only are you not holding them back, you're propelling them toward their dreams. And in turn that helps you get closer to yours. Ep 115115: How TIPPING Can Make You Rich

What are your tipping habits? Do you give more depending on the level of service you get? What if I told you that your tipping habits actually have more to do with your abundance and wealth than you think? I learned my tipping habits years ago from my parents who were very generous tippers – no matter what the level of service was. And this stuck with me up until this point and I know it's only helped boost my success (and in general, my happiness). "The way you tip someone is not a reflection of the job they've done, it's a reflection of how you feel about money." Let's not forget about all the happiness/time-saving after effects of tipping well. At restaurants, because I'm known for my generosity, I'm seated faster, get better service and tend to get a lot of extras that other people don't get. When I valet park (at least once a week), my car is always parked close and I'm able to get my parked even when the lot is full. When I'm generous, I'm saving both money and time, which leaves me happier and with better energy. So let's try to shift your view of money (if it's needed). If the service was bad, don't use the lack of a tip as punishment. Instead, use it as an opportunity to show the particular person a different view of money. If they were having a really crappy day, wouldn't an awesome tip help turn it around? YES! And what's more, you're sending a message to the universe that you have an abundance of money. Let's take that one step further… when you tip well you're actually boosting the economy. You pay more, but then the other person has more to spend, too. No matter which way you look at it, you create a ripple effect when you tip well. What kind of example could you set by showing others how abundant you are with everyone? Who can you inspire? I would love to hear all about your generous tipping habits! Ep 114114: This Celebrity is Guaranteed to Make You Smile with Dr. Bill Dorfman

If there was a literal checklist for my ideal guest on For the Love of Money, celebrity dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman, would check them all – and then some. Not only he probably the most famous dentist in the history of dentists (think Extreme Makeover, The Doctors and Oprah Winfrey), he's also co-founder of one of the world' leading dental product companies (BriteSmile and Zoom!). And while that success is inspiring, what's even more is the generosity behind it. With generosity a built-in component to his personality, he's found that by giving he always receives it back and more without expecting it. Dr. Bill helps with the charity Smiles for Life and also is one of the founders of the LEAP foundation, which connects teenagers and young adults with mentors with the end goal of helping them achieve success. Ep 113113: MOMENTUM HACK! How To Get It and Keep It!

Today we're talking about momentum – how to get it, keep it and get more of it. "Momentum is the hardest thing to gain, the easiest thing to lose and the most valuable thing to have." This above statement says it all… So much so that I could safely leave it at that, but of course I'm going to elaborate a bit. Momentum is something that everyone seeks in business. It's that magical feeling when everything is going your way, the money and customers keep appearing – it's explosive. And it honestly should be the goal for everyone when it comes to everything they're doing – life and business. But it can be elusive and hard to hang on to. See, momentum can be the savior or killer of your business or success. So many people never hit that momentum because they either give up right before it hits or they let it die after hitting it. It's all about finding the delicate balance between finesse, effort, time investment and a little bit of miracle worked in. "Momentum must be carefully cultivated in order to get it and then persistently preserved once you have it." So to help you create and keep that momentum I've come up with a few hacks to guide you: To gain momentum, you must be consistent. Consistency is more valuable than effort. Think about it, a little every day will always beat a giant push and then nothing. "Momentum rewards the consistent." Have a plan. "You must do the right work at the right time in the right direction." You can't aimlessly wander your way into momentum. Don't be afraid to ask for help and get a "map" to help guide you. Once you get it, hold onto it. "Do the same amount of work it took to get it that it does to keep it." Whatever it takes, steer your momentum in the right direction. If that means hiring more people or delegating – do it! There is no substitute for the effects and rewards of momentum – it rocks. It makes all your efforts worth it and so much more rewarding. But you must keep it rolling! And of course when that momentum is in high gear you're success takes off with it. In This Episode We Talk about: Why momentum is the most valuable thing to have Why momentum is the killer and saver of all businesses and success Three hacks to help you get momentum and keep it Resources: Interested in coaching with Chris? Ep 112112: How FAITH Can Help You SUCCEED with Joel Brown

Back when my podcast first launched, I interviewed entrepreneur and fellow podcaster, Joel Brown, but the sound quality was so bad that it never aired. That's why today I'm even more excited that we were able to connect one more time to have, in my opinion, an even better conversation. From a very young age, Joel possessed an empowering mindset. Practicing his entrepreneurial skills at the young age of 7, he has long followed the principle of making money work for you – and not the other way around. Now for the last seven years, Joel has been running his motivational website, Addicted2Success (and more recently his podcast), where he encourages others to find their 10-year vision and the values that align with it. In this episode, we deep dive into what a 10-year vision entails, how to find and create one and how faith has amplified Joel's business and life. You don't want to miss this inspiring and insightful talk. -- Question Highlights: What's one of your superpowers? What is one regret you have? What's one of your favorite books? Who is someone who has changed your life? Can you tell us where you were before you became an influencer? What is the "formula" behind success? Where did your core value of contribution come from? Why is the Bible your favorite book now and what has shifted inside of you? How does this return to faith affect what you teach today in business compared to what you taught a couple years ago? What can we learn from Jesus and the way He ran his "business" that applies to how we run businesses today? Can you be spiritual and still desire wealth? How can you help others find their vision? In This Episode We Talk about: How Joel got his start as an entrepreneur Making money work for you How Joel created Addicted2Success.com Joel's formula for success The importance of contribution The relentless pursuit of truth Why Joel stepped back into his faith The four areas to Joel's structure to test any world view (origin, meaning, morality and destiny) Spirituality and wealth Steps to figuring out your 10-year vision and tips to check in on it Why vision and values go hand in hand And so much more… Joel's Thoughts… "I never felt like there were ceilings, the sky was the limit." "Inspiration is way more powerful than motivation." "Just because it's a personal preference doesn't mean it's true." "He didn't come to be popular, He came to speak truth." "Your vision disciplines you. It chooses your friends for you. It teaches you what to say yes to and what to say no to. It gives you direction in your life." "I'm not big on the law of attraction; I'm big on the law of intention." "You have to be committed to mastery if you want to achieve a high level of success." -- Joel Brown is the founder of the #1 motivation website, Addicted2Success.com and has achieved over 143 million views worldwide over the last 7 years. He was offered multiple million dollar offers for his website and turned them all down to continue to grow his company. Joel has a social media following of over 2.6 million across all social media channels and he travels the world teaching 1000's of people how to stand in their vision for success so they can turn their dreams into a reality. Ep 111111: The Difference Between You and I...it might not be what you think

I'm sure the title of this episode threw you off today because I am definitely not going to stand up here on a pedestal and tell you about all the things I've done, bought or experienced that make us different. Nope. Not even close… are you ready? "The difference between you and I is what makes you so valuable." It's true! Here's the thing, what I don't have I need to buy from someone. What I don't know, I need to learn from someone… you get the idea. The difference between you and I is your value and it's what you can, in turn, market or monetize. We were all meant to have an impact on the world – whether you realize it or not. But so many people have a unique set of skills and they could leverage those skills to those who need it. It may feel like selling, but trust me, it's really a gift. People pray every night for solutions to their problems. What if you have the answers, knowledge or skills they were looking for? Powerful, right? So, if you're not sure what skill you could possibly leverage, I want you to make a list of what comes naturally to you and brainstorm how you can use it. And please share what you come up with! I love hearing your thoughts. You just may surprise yourself at the gift you've been keeping from the world. In This Episode We Talk about: The difference between us all Monetizing our differences Leveraging skills to solve people's problems Resources: Interested in coaching with Chris? Ep 109The #1 Reason Businesses Don't Get Started (and What To Do!)

I cannot believe these days how many business ideas I hear on a daily basis. And I'm talking epic, game-changing ideas that could make millions of dollars. But here's the thing, the people with the ideas aren't bringing them to fruition. So today, we're going to dive in and talk about the No. 1 reason why these businesses don't get started. And the No. 1 reason is…lack of follow-through. Yes, such a simple concept, especially when we have access to countless resources to make it happen. It's not a saturated market (really for anything), there is a wealth of resources and mentors are everywhere. And let's not forget – there is no shortage of great ideas. But there are multiple reasons why the follow-through isn't happening. "Virtual homeruns are stuck on someone's shelf in their heads behind fears." Fear of failure, rejection, success, hard work etc. are all BS reasons that are given. It's not that we're too busy, it's that we're choosing the wrong things to focus on. Don't get me wrong, I'm calling myself out on all this too. We've all done it at one time or another. We all have good intentions, but we must choose to take action. "Business doesn't reward good intentions, business rewards good actions – and lots of them." So how can you get your idea out there? Below are five steps that will get you started: Seek a mentor. There are so many out there if you look. But if you can't, books count, too! List out your exact five next steps in order to gain momentum on your idea. Be specific, but only tackle one at a time. Tell everyone about it – social media, word of mouth, skywriting – everyone! Line up the money for it. It's usually less than you think you'll need. Set deadlines. This is crucial to following through. Besides, you can't hit something without aiming, right? The beauty of these five steps is that anyone can do them – they just require action. What's your next step to getting that epic idea out into the world? I can't wait to see! In This Episode We Talk about: Why so many people haven't started their businesses Why lack of follow-through is killing your multi-million-dollar business Five steps that will help you get your ideas out there Resources: FREE TRAINING WITH CHRIS AND LORI The ALL NEW ALIGNED Course! The name of my guest today may sound familiar as Jessie Rodriguez is one of the stars of HGTV's Vintage Flip along with his wife. Not only are the houses he flips fantastic, but it's no wonder the show is such a success – he radiates positivity and has a hard work ethic to match it. We cover so many different topics from his financial rock bottom when the market crashed to earning it all back and much more, plus investments and how generosity is a non-negotiable in his life. "We found balance by bringing in other players to help us." "What's going to define you is how you recover from this, not that you went through it." "I don't want to survive the next down-turn, I want to capitalize on it." "The ability to give, sacrifice and see the result makes you want to do more." "As long as you're helping, you're getting it back." -- Jessie and Tina Rodriguez are the husband and wife duo starring in the HGTV series VINTAGE FLIP. On VINTAGE FLIP, the couple set out to find, fix and flip vintage homes, restoring them back to their glory days while modernizing them to meet the needs of today. Each episode takes viewers from the initial process of scouting potential flips through ultimately putting the restored home on the market. Jessie and Tina have long ran Cal American Homes — a successful full-service real estate sales, construction and design firm out of Claremont, CA. Cal American Homes was named one of the fastest-growing small businesses in America by Inc. Magazine in 2012; the same year Jessie was honored as one of the National Association of Realtors' "30 Under 30." Ep 107107: Does Your Partner Determine Your Success

Today's episode was spurred by a question I received via Instagram. And while I could have just answered on there, I figured it deserved a longer, more quality and REAL response. The question was: "How do you think someone's relationship could affect their success and how do you find a partner like this?" Fair warning, my answers may lead to a huge wave of self-reflection. Firstly, in my opinion, a person's romantic relationship massively affects success. How can we expect it not to when our partners share our finances, time and energy – among other things. And let's not forget that these people are also the people we want to celebrate our successes with. "If your partner is aligned with your goals, you're going to have a higher chance of succeeding." They can have different goals and drivers, but they understand your ambition and likely have their own as well. On the flip side: "The wrong partner can ruin your success." Now don't get me wrong. Just because you're with the "wrong" partner doesn't mean they're not a good person – it just means that they're not in alignment with your goals and ambitions. "People can be good people but the wrong partner at the same time." Just to give you an idea, the right partner provides: You with ideas and supports yours The right style of accountability Objectivity in a way that you can receive it (and not take offense) Let me stress here that I am only answering the question. You definitely don't NEED a romantic partner to be successful. It could be a friend, business partner – or perhaps it's just you. When it comes to the second portion of the question about how you find a partner, I don't think you can find one, but let me explain. When Lori and I met, we weren't amazing partners…at least not right from the start. We were a couple of party kids from Wisconsin who liked to go out. But here's the thing, we both were dreamers and had big goals for our future lives. And we both had equal levels of ambition and drive in each of our fields. "We were always willing to try the other's ideas on for size." We didn't start out with perfect communication. There were fights and tears, but today we are committed to getting better as partners. We still have disagreements, but know how to objectively get through them. I hope that after listening to this episode that you're able to also discover what is needed to help you (and perhaps your partner) elevate your life and dreams to the next level. In This Episode We Talk about: Whether or not someone's relationship affects their success Qualities of the "right" partner Why you DON'T need a romantic partner (or any partner) to find success Resources: FREE TRAINING WITH CHRIS AND LORI: Loriharder.com/freetraining For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

There's a lot of talk in the entrepreneurial world about maintaining a work-life balance, and today's guest, Mel Abraham, talks about the defining moment that made him focus on what that term really meant. A CPA by education, he was pushed out of a firm partnership and did what anyone would do… He dug his heels in and worked countless hours to keep profits coming in so he could support him and his son. Ep 105105: I Had A BREAKDOWN (True Story!)

If you've been listening to my podcast for a while now, you know that I try to be as transparent as humanly possible. While most only teach the rosy stuff, I feel it's imperative to see what's normal so you know if you're on the right track. No one is perfect. Case in point, earlier this week I had a breakdown. Yep, an all-out toddler breakdown, which included throwing my phone on the floor and blurting out whatever came to mind. Lori and I have both had a lot going on the past few months – Lori's Bliss Project event, my Mastermind, other speaking events for Lori (where I helped her prepare), Lori's book launch and our new Aligned course. And this doesn't even include our normal everyday tasks. So, we were wrapping up our two-day recharge at the Ritz in Laguna and about to head back into reality when I checked my email and received a message that just set me off. It instantly made me feel like I wasn't living life on my terms. Enter tantrum mode. I can totally laugh at it now, but all the stress had built up and I had to release some of it. And this is where tribe saved me… Lori was there to let me vent and talk it through. Then I also texted a couple of my super successful entrepreneur friends and they also reassured me that this was normal and gave me a couple stories of their own as well as some tips to get through it. We NEED people like this in our lives. Without them, you'll bottle up all the motions and eventually explode (have a tantrum like I did). "The pace doesn't need to slow, but the releasing of the pressure does need to be more often." We need to put a focus on self-care and give ourselves a break now and then. It is perfectly normal to have breakdowns and feel tired. "You're always going to be tired from struggle or tired from making it happen – I choose the latter." Stay the course. Talk it out. Let off some steam with your go-to person. And take as good of care as possible of yourself. But keep up the pace so your dreams come true. You've got this and we're all here to support you! In This Episode We Talk about: Why it's important to be transparent and share your struggles How tribe saved Chris during his breakdown The importance of self-care Resources: Ready to turn your 6-figure income into a 7-figure income? Ep 104104: Is the Law of Attraction Real...with The Manifestation Babe Kathrin Zenkina

There are so many different thoughts on the Law of Attraction, so I am super excited for Manifestation Babe (and expert), Kathrin Zenkina, to talk about it today. With her initial interest in the Law of Attraction beginning at the young age of 16, she later realized just how much more was behind truly manifesting all the things you desire into your life. Manifesting is far more than just thinking about something you want. Instead it's about becoming the version of yourself who already has the thing you desire and then taking action to make it happen. During our conversation, Kathrin breaks down the manifestation process even further and does it in such a clear and concise way that I know it will help you shift your practices (manifesting, abundance and attracting) immediately. Kathrin has made it her mission to impact lives, influence others and share her knowledge through the online space. Be sure to check out the resources on this page to connect with her and all the tools she uses help others attract abundance. -- Question Highlights: What's one of your superpowers? Who is someone who has changed your life? What is something generous you've done lately? Tell us more about your brand and how you got into it. Is the Law of Attraction an energy magic trick or is it the result of someone wanting to do better? What's more important – to think about the thing you want or to feel it? How does someone move from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance? Do you ever fall back into a "lack" mindset? How did you feel about money growing up? Where did the wildly generous part of your personality come from? What are you most excited about now? In This Episode We Talk about: How the book, "The Secret," has influenced Kathrin's business Adding physical action to the Law of Attraction Starting small with manifestation Kathrin's manifestation process Why feeling takes priority over thinking How Kathrin gets out of a scarcity mindset with her "Gratitude Rampage" Being grateful for the small things Why it's important to maintenance your abundant mindset The Law of Polarity to strengthen our "focus muscle" Why parents need to be mindful of the money mindset beliefs they're showing their children And so much more… Kathrin's Thoughts… "There's the Law of Attraction, but there's also the Law of Action." "We are drawn and attracted to certain things for a reason. We're either meant to teach them or do something with them." "If you're always looking for the big things in life to be grateful for, you're always going to be waiting to be happy." "It's a game of focus rather than a game of elimination." "Money is a tool to elevate your human experience." "The more you send out the flow of money, the more money that's going to come back." "The more you have, the more you can give." -- Kathrin Zenkina is the creator of Manifestation Babe, a best-selling author, manifesting expert, success strategist, mindset coach for spiritual entrepreneurs. Ep 103103: A Ferrari, A Landscaper, and a Dent - Who Should Pay

Today, I want to tell you a story about a Ferrari, a landscaper and a dent. I normally wouldn't call out the make of the car involved in this story, but the fact that the car is a Ferrari is of significance and represents all the hard work I've put in to own it. This story was set into motion while getting my hair cut, like I do every two weeks. I park in the same small parking lot that has an attendant, but this time, the attendant had some bad news when I came back. Someone had backed into my car resulting in a dent and scratch. Of course my first reaction to this was anger, but I quickly caught it and reframed. Amazingly, the attendant was super proactive and got the information of the man who'd backed into my car. He was a landscaper with an old broken-down truck. As soon as I got in my car, however, my struggle began. Who pays for this $2-3,000 repair? It wasn't my fault, but this hard-working landscaper was likely not going to be in a position to pay it. I called this man and he immediately took responsibility and wanted to pay for the damage. While speaking through broken English, he offered to pay cash. When I told him the amount though, he sighed. That was a lot of money to him, so he would instead need to make an insurance claim to pay for it. So here's the dilemma. It was his fault, but did I really want to put this burden to pay when it would put such a strain on him? And furthermore, if he did indeed file a claim, it would cost him at least $500-$1,000 for his deductible (and a premium increase) and cost me a ton more of my time and energy until the insurance company figured it out. So I made the decision to pay the repair cost because I can, and because I can do it so much easier than he can. "Too many people are chasing pennies instead of using that time to create dollars." I don't want to be one of those people. I don't want to feel bad energy or waste any of my time while I can be doing other more, high-energy, money-making things. "Do what's right, not righteous." Maybe it's not always easy, but it's karmically better for you. "I am in this position because I've always made decisions like this – even when I couldn't do so as easily." And when you consistently create a pattern of decisions like this, you will experience wealth – in all forms – far beyond your wildest dreams. When have you given up the opportunity to be righteous and done what's right instead? In This Episode We Talk about: Retraining your mind to have an attitude of abundance. Ep 102102: The Formula to Losing 40 lbs and Gaining Millions of Dollars with Drew Canole

I've gotten to know today's guest, Drew Canole, super well over this past year, and wow, has it been life-changing. Ep 101101: PROOF - If You Have MORE, Someone Else Does NOT Have Less

There are many things that can hold you back from accumulating wealth, but today, I want to cross one of those off the list. I'm going to prove that if you have more, it doesn't mean that someone else has less. You know that saying, "your slice of the pie?" It makes it sound like there's only so much pie and if someone gets a bigger piece, another gets less. Ok, if we're talking literal pie, yes, this is true. But from a wealth perspective, wealth is NOT a pie. It's a living, growing, shrinking and expanding organism. So comparing wealth to a pie doesn't work. And if you think it does, it's only going to hold you back from accumulating wealth because you'll think someone else is getting hurt if you do. "Wealth accumulation is not a zero-sum game." Hundreds of years ago, land was the biggest measurement of wealth. The more land you had meant that someone else had less or you bought it from them. But today, we're so fortunate because there are so many different ways to accumulate wealth. "Wealth is always being created." Here are a few examples of what I mean: There is always something to sell. Products, ideas, services etc. – you name it. Even your salary job. You're selling your time/skillset for money and in return, you create something for your boss to then sell and make money. Events and eCourses. Let's say Susy goes to an event or buys an eCourse for $500. Susy isn't poorer, she's actually gained value and could maybe further turn that value into $100K because of what she learned. "Value is nothing more than an amount that we all agree it to be." At the end of the day, just know that there is an endless amount wealth available and your ability to create wealth determines how wealthy you'll be. You are entitled to as much as you learn to create – without taking anything away from anyone else. In This Episode We Talk about: Different ways to accumulate and measure wealth How wealth is always being created Supply and demand and how it affects wealth Resources: Ready to turn your 6-figure income into a 7-figure income? Ep 100100: This Powerhouse Paid Off $50K and Donated $120K in Just Two Years with Adrienne Dorison

I think a lot of you are going to relate today with my guest and entrepreneur, Adrienne Dorison. Like many, she found herself in a corporate job that was "OK" and paid the bills, but she ended up starting a business/side hustle because she needed to create space in her life for something that she loved. Initially her goal wasn't to replace her corporate income, but when the corporation had a problem with her side hustle, she was nudged into it. At the time, Adrienne was trying to pay off $50K in student loan debt, however without a full-time job, she worried that it would take her forever to pay if off. So, rather than allow her boyfriend (now husband) to pay off her debt for her, she made an aggressive plan to pay it off herself – and give back at the same time. Adrienne wanted to balance out the negative feelings of shame that came with debt or bad credit and instead made it a feel-good experience. Today, giving is built into her business's structure – both monetarily and by sharing her experiences. Tune in to hear more about Adrienne's driven and giving spirit. -- Question Highlights: Who is Adrienne Dorison? What was your transition like from corporate America to entrepreneurship? Why did your corporate job have a problem with your blog? Why do we stay in bad jobs for so long? What was one of your big "crash and burns?" What is it like to be the bread-winner of your family? What's your advice to couples who wake up in this position? How do you make it work? How did you work giving into your business's DNA? Where does your generosity come from? In This Episode We Talk about: Adrienne's transition from corporate America to entrepreneurship How shame around debt/bad credit led her to donate How she paid of $50K in debt in 6 months (while still giving) How Adrienne made paying off her debt a feel-food experience Spousal communication and balancing feminine and masculine dynamics How Adrienne likes to take action from the place of how she wants to feel Why it's so important to share what your business gives And so much more… Adrienne's Thoughts… "I needed to create space in my life for something that I loved." "Giving grounds you in what you have." "I want to make a lot of money so I can give a lot away." "When you earn more, you can give more." -- Adrienne is the CEO of Lean Growth Group, a business operations consultancy that helps companies double their results, with half the effort. Adrienne is a certified LEAN Six Sigma consultant + SCRUM expert trainer from the world of corporate manufacturing, who has created her own proprietary systems + tools specific to small business owners. Adrienne has helped hundreds of businesses (from Fortune 500 companies to fast-growth start-ups) meaningfully expand profit margins and cut costs in 90 days or less. She understands how to simplify complex business problems and help teams restructure so they can scale to the next level. Adrienne has been featured in a number of publications including Entrepreneur, Business Insider, and TIME, and she's personally passionate about helping entrepreneurs earn more to give more. She started her business by getting serious about her debt and paid off over $45,000 of student loan debt in just 6 months, all while giving away money at the same time. Her company has now given away over $120,000 to meaningful causes in less than 2 years, and has empowered and equipped her clients to do the same. Adrienne lives in St. Petersburg, Florida with her husband, Tyler, her Bernese Mountain Dog, Church, and their rescue Terrier, Airy. -- Resources: http://Adriennedorison.com IG: @adriennedorison http://TheAdventureProject.org -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 9999: The MISSING LINK to YOUR SUCCESS

This isn't the first time I've discussed the one thing that can truly unlock what you're seeking – and that's giving. "Giving is the absolute secret to unlock every single thing you want." Wherever you are or where you want to be, giving more will ultimately get you there. But what if you're already giving? My advice? Give more. Now don't get me wrong, it's not just giving money. Below I've listed six areas in which you could possibly give more to. EFFORT: Perhaps you think you already work hard – and I have no doubt that you do. However, what if some of your current efforts are misguided? What if you focused more on income-producing activities and put more work in your business? TIME: This encompasses all areas. Could you spend more time with your business partner? Perhaps you could spend more time looking outside of your business or studying/bettering your craft? MONEY: I often hear that people are stuck on a plateau. If you're pinching pennies (which isn't a bad thing), it may be time to give more money to your business. Add that new team member, do more research or take out more ads. Being cheap is smart, but not if it's stopping your business in its tracks. So get creative and ask for a loan, an investor etc. RESOURCEFULNESS: No money? No problem. As I just mentioned, get creative. Find an intern who will work for free or next to nothing. Trade favors. Resourcefulness fixes everything. RESEARCH/PLANNING: The technology and business worlds change rapidly. It's in your business's best interest to keep up on your research and give more time to planning ahead as much as possible. LOVE: Give more love to yourself, your business, your co-workers or business partners. Give love outside of your business – without expectations. Love always comes full circle, and you never know who will be able to help you down the road. Which area(s) could you give more to? No matter the answer, giving is the missing piece when it comes to achieving the level of success you want to have. Now, who's ready to commit to that next level of giving? In This Episode We Talk about: The missing link to your success – giving How to give more to get more The six areas where you could possibly give more Resources: For the Love of Money, ep. 7 – 30 Books In 30 Days https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/7-30-books-in-30-days-my-lessons-learned/id1215523596?i=1000383319132&mt=2 For the Love of Money, ep. 16 with Bob Burg https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/16-the-go-giver-profit-by-giving-with-bob-burg/id1215523596?i=1000384952645&mt=2 For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 9898: No Arms, No Legs, No EXCUSES, with Kyle Maynard

My history with today's guest, Kyle Maynard, goes back a decade or so to my banking days when I heard him speak at an event and left completely inspired. Imagine my surprise when I met him again two years ago and got a chance to talk with him at Lewis Howes' Summit of Greatness event. I'm so glad that we were able to get him on For the Love of Money and share more with all of you! Many of you have likely heard about Kyle and his epic story. But for those who don't know, he was born with a rare condition called congenital amputation that left him with arms that end at the elbows and legs that end around his knees. He credits his parents for helping him navigate life with this challenge (without prosthetics) and for encouraging him that anything was possible. And wow, did he ever prove that there were no limits – so much so that others felt his "disadvantage" was actually an unfair advantage! In Kyle's younger years, he found success in both wrestling and football, but most recently he became famous for becoming the first man to climb (bearcrawl) Mount Kilimanjaro. Today he continues to thrive on physical challenges, however he's added an extra focus on photography and film. Kyle shares his incredible story and "No Excuses" philosophy in the hope that it inspires others to banish their excuses and make the world a better place. My hope is that his story inspires you to do the same. -- Question Highlights: What was it like to climb Mount Kilimanjaro? Is filming/photography your new rush? How many times a year do you speak? What does your hustle look like now? What common threads do you see between those who are successful and those who are not? Where are you going to take this newfound love for photography and film? What's one of the best business decisions you've ever made? How can people get past their BS excuses? Now that you've raised your speaking fees, do you see a difference in the quality of events that you speak at? What cause(s) do you care the most about and what causes should we be more aware of? In This Episode We Talk about: Kyle's childhood journey growing up with congenital amputation Using doubts to fuel you to be and do better Kyle's success in athletics (wrestling, football, crossfit) Kyle's Mount Kilimanjaro climb (bearcrawl) The importance of quality relationships (the "beer test") What it means to do the "deep work" The value in creating a structure for decision-making Learning from your excuses How and why Kyle raised his speaking fees And so much more… Kyle's Thoughts… "The map is not the territory." – Alfred Korzybski "Focus on the deep work." "Create a structure so you don't have to make the same decisions all the time." "There is no end to our excuses." "No excuses give you the freedom to try." -- Kyle Maynard is an entrepreneur, speaker, best-selling author, award-winning extreme athlete, and the first man to bearcrawl to the top of the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340 feet), and the summit of Argentina's Mount Aconcagua (22,838 feet), the highest peak in both the Western and Southern Hemispheres. Born with a rare condition known as congenital amputation, that left him with arms that end at the elbows and legs that end near his knees, he learned early on to live life independently and without prosthetics. Kyle thrives on physical challenges and is a champion wrestler, CrossFit Certified Instructor and gym owner, competitive Mixed Martial Arts fighter, world record-setting weightlifter, and skilled mountaineer. He is on a mission to make the world a better place and to inspire others to do the same by sharing his story and living by example. He travels across continents, speaking to thousands of executives and students, athletes and warriors, to share his "No Excuses" philosophy. He is a humanitarian who passionately supports numerous charities, and commits time and resources to work with wounded and recovering U.S. military veterans. Kyle is the New York Times best-selling author of his life story, "No Excuses," and the focus of the moving ESPN documentary, "A Fighting Chance." His story has been featured in countless television programs and editorials, which have been viewed by millions around the world. -- Resources: http://www.kyle-maynard.com IG: @kylemaynard No Excuses by Kyle Maynard -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 9797: Should You Feel Guilty for Having "Wealth?"

Should you feel guilty for having more than others? This isn't a new question, but it came up on my recent trip to Guatemala with Pencils of Promise, an organization that helps villages provide sustainable schools, clean water and sanitation. These are very remote and poor villages that lack many of the modern "comforts" we have here in the U.S. So when this question came up again, it got my wheels turning. Should I feel guilty? My answer was no, but I quickly let my thoughts put doubt in my head. Should I feel bad about this? Once I was able to reframe these thoughts I stuck to my original answer and here's why. Without excess wealth or having more than others, we can't help anyone else. We need those extra resources, connections etc. to do great things. The only time you should feel guilty is if you have excess wealth and you're not doing anything to create more of it. Or of course, if you're playing small… that doesn't serve anybody. We've been gifted multiple opportunities so we can help others. My trip to Guatemala was proof of that. That's why I came home more excited and even more inspired to do more. "Home represents opportunity." I plan to use the excess leverage and opportunities I have to create more positive change in the world. And I can't wait for you to do the same and live up to your fullest potential, too. In This Episode We Talk about: Whether or not you should feel guilty about having more than another The infiniteness of money and wealth Using excess leverage to create change Resources: Pencils of Promise http://PencilsOfPromise.org For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 9696: How To SUCCEED No Matter WHERE YOU BEGIN with Sean O'Shea

World-renowned dog trainer, teacher and author, Sean O'Shea, struggled for the first 40 years of his life. Between a dysfunctional family, learning disabilities and a directionless, toxic music career, he knew this lifestyle wasn't working for him. While this often is the point where a person gives up, thinking they've screwed things up forever, Sean did the opposite. Knowing he didn't have the luxury of time, he dived head-first into self-development and hit it hard – absorbing everything he could to bring new skillsets on board (often 4.5 hours of reading and watching videos a day). And it all was spurred by the mind shift happened after he adopted a couple of dogs in his 30s. At the time, knowing nothing about how to raise dogs, he admittedly messed them up. But upon realizing this, he made a promise that he would help them get in a better place – and he did. Shortly after Sean transformed his dogs' behavior, people began to notice. Starting out with a dog-walking service that became wildly popular, his business grew and shifted into The Good Dog Training. (So grateful as he trained my brother's dog, Ozzie, and turned him into a gentleman of a dog.) Sean's comeback story is incredible and he wants everyone to know that you don't have to be perfect to be successful. You can come from any background, screw up colossally and still find success – if you do the work. Be sure to listen in to the full episode to find out how he turned his profound struggle into a successful life and business – and now a new book! There are countless valuable takeaways from our conversation! -- Question Highlights: Describe one of your lowest moments. What role has self-development specifically played in your success? What do you mean when you say that "you don't have to come to the table with the skills, you just have to want the skills really, really bad?" Tell us about your book. Who's your book for? What's the best lesson in your book? Where did your generosity come from? In This Episode We Talk about: How Sean overcame profound struggles to become the success he is today How adopting dogs made a pivotal change in his life What role self-development has played in Sean's life The power of influence and the importance of surrounding yourself continuously with great influencers The influence Jim Rohn has had on Sean's success Creating resources to do more good Importance of finding what resonates with you His new book, Closing the Gap and the fact that he's donating all of its proceeds Learning skills and becoming the master of them Where Sean's generosity comes from And so much more… Sean's Thoughts… "You don't have to come to the table with the skills; you just have to want the skills really, really bad." "You start from influences that plant the thoughts and then you can start to build everything else." "Drive will reveal the path." "Being the equal of what you want is critical." "You don't have to be filthy rich to give back." "Money combined with contribution is where the magic is." "Money facilitates what you want to do." -- Sean O'Shea is a world-renowned dog trainer, teacher, and author. He is most known for his rehabilitation work with extremely challenging dogs. Ep 9595: Four BUSINESS LESSONS from my Mastermind Group

This past weekend, I hosted my first business mastermind and honestly, I'm still on a high from the epic breakthroughs and experiences that were had. There are 24 people in this year's group, but a mastermind can be as small as three to five people too. As a refresher, a mastermind is when a group of people, who have similar goals, come together to lift each other's businesses up so there are several people working on a business – not just one person. I observed so many similar trends within the group and instantly knew I wanted to share a few with you. Most people know how to get where they want to go, but they're holding themselves back because of fears and stories they tell themselves that aren't true. The takeaway? "You're closer than you think to your goals – you just have a mental block." The power of collaboration. I was blown away at the breakthroughs that were happening left and right. And I credit it to the group brainstorming and talking about things as a collective. Just think what you could come up with in a group of like-minded people! It's not all business– it's a mix of business and pleasure. I noticed that the most breakthroughs happened when people let loose at the restaurant. There was a noticeable difference when people were more open and decided to have more fun with it. There's always a way to hit your goals. When you're around a group of new people who are able to be completely objective, they're able to see the things you can't or aren't willing to see. Masterminds are way to remind that you don't have to do it alone – someone can help you! And this isn't just limited to masterminds. Whatever situation you're in, and I cannot stress this enough, ASK for help! Let me know if you agree with any of the above or if you plan to incorporate parts of them into your life and business. They may further boost you onto the fast track for success. Ep 9494: Becoming Extremely Wealthy with Grant Cardone

I'm so honored to have the one and only, Grant Cardone, as a guest today as he's inspired me for the last 20 years of my life. Sounds crazy, but after dropping out of college and getting into the car business, I was selected to hear him speak at an event about sales. It was game-changing for me because it made me realize I wanted to do more than sell cars – I wanted to be the person on the stage. Fast forward to the present and I've had the privilege of speaking on stage and have Grant to thank for it. As an international sales expert and NY Times Best-Selling Author, I'm in awe of Grant's no-nonsense approach to both life and wealth/business. Whether he succeeds or makes mistakes, he equally owns both 100%. But Grant wasn't always a wealthy sales mastermind. From his late teens to early 20s, he was self-admittedly selfish. After a brief stint in rehab, he made the choice do something about the disappointment he felt and turned it around. Since that time, Grant never settles for what he has and strives to do better and better so he can be around 200-300 years after he's gone through his books and courses. His goal and passion are to help others grow their wealth and make their lives easier. With the packed house his upcoming 10X Growth Conference promises, I'd say he's doing just that. Don't miss this inspirational, but brutally honest conversation with Grant. I can almost guarantee that it will make you want to do more when it comes to taking action to increase your wealth – and your giving. -- Question Highlights: You don't always have to like what you're doing, but it can still be good for you and put you on your path – can you expand on this idea? Where does your drive to be great in all areas come from? Do you still feel disappointed in yourself after all you've accomplished? Why should each of us become as wealthy as possible? Why do people struggle with having a strong money mindset? What's the best way to make money today and how does it relate to Cardone Capital? When did you decide to stop letting other people's opinions matter? Who do you study? Who motivates you? Is it easier to invest in someone else's fund or would you rather do it on your own and make mistakes? What will people learn at the 10X Growth Conference? Who is the event for? How has generosity impacted your success? In This Episode We Talk about: Why more people should be dissatisfied with their lives Getting great in the space you're in until you can movie into the next level What it means to have a scarcity mindset Why so many are mis-educated about money The importance of a second or third stream of income When Grant decided to value his time more than his money How and why we need to continue the cycle of action and giving And so much more… Grant's Thoughts… "I wanna be the guy on stage and working for the world." "We're never playing above our game." "If you don't love money, you're never going to get it." "I'm certain about my mistakes and I'm certain about my successes." Ep 9393: How to Handle ENTREPRENEURIAL STRESS

This is a huge topic that plagues everybody – or at least it seems to anyway. Whether we're stressed about our business not having any traction or we're stressed about all the work that comes with a business with traction, stress doesn't discriminate. That's just real life, right? Not so fast… While I'm not denying the existence of all stress, I do question how much of the stress we have is really B.S. I venture to say that roughly 90 percent of the stress we have is literally made up in our heads. What if we reframe this idea? "You're not stressed, you're blessed." Would you rather have the alternative to your stress? Typically, that answer would be no. Think about it, a broke and struggling person would love the stress that your success brings upon them. When entrepreneurs are stressed it's because we chose that stress. We had a series of choices that we said yes or no to. We have the control and power to either change it or appreciate it. I choose the latter. "We're not actually busy, we're busy in our head." How often do you get stressed thinking about all of your future appointments or project deadlines? I know it's tough, but STOP living in the future! Get present. The things you worry about in your head will likely never happen. Seriously, 95% of the stuff we stress about NEVER happens. One more tip, make sure you're not mislabeling your stress or nervousness as excitement. They're very similar feelings, so when you catch yourself doing that, quickly reframe it. The sooner you learn to stop creating fake stress, the better you can manage your business and life. Make sure you're leaning into the stress, don't fear it. I firmly believe that "a little stress is a prerequisite for success." Just remember to keep stepping through the stress, not back. In This Episode We Talk about: Reframing the "stress" in your life Differentiating between stress and excitement How being present can help you avoid feelings of stress Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 9292: The Bachelor's Ben Higgins Teachus Us GENEROSITY

Most widely known for his roles on ABC's The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, you will soon realize that my guest, Ben Higgins, is more than just a reality TV star. After his time on The Bachelor, he used that platform to help others and create a dynamic business model in the process. And it all began with his friend's non-profit organization called Humanity and Hope United. Believing whole-heartedly in this organization's mission to assist underserved villages in remote parts of Honduras, Ben wanted to ensure the longevity and success of it. And that's when they got the idea to create a for profit business with the purpose of supporting a non-profit. This business model is pure genius and he predicts that it's only the beginning for other future businesses. I cannot wait for you to hear Ben's story and how he seems to embody all things generosity. It's no surprise that relating, connecting and being generous with people are so important to him. From his business model to his blog and podcast, Ben gets super transparent in an attempt to let people know that at the heart we're all the same and that we all have a passion to share with the world. Don't be surprised if this episode blows your mind and likely gives you a nudge to give back more, too. -- Question Highlights: What was life like before The Bachelor vs. after? Growing up, what did you think you'd be doing as an adult? Was your new-found fame easier to deal with because of your desire to work with people? Ep 9191: Your "RICH" Will Be Different

My Two Cents today is based on a conversation I had the other day with a buddy of mine. To sum it up, we discussed how when spending time with a friend (someone who has crushed it in business), there are times when you walk away from it questioning their actions or how they treated others, ultimately fearing that you too will become a certain way when you reach their level. It's only natural to reflect on their behavior, but I'm here to tell you that you need to stop. "Your rich is not their rich." Money doesn't change people, but it can magnify who you already are. For example, if you're kind to everybody, treat others with respect and genuinely have a genuine desire to help people, when you become more successful, you're going to do more of that. The same thing is true if you feel entitled, disrespect others and only care about yourself – it will magnify that too. Don't worry about what's coming up next – no matter where you are. Stay true to who YOU are. "Root down in who you really are and who you've been up that point, and live in your truth." If you're living in your truth you can get out and pursue wealth without fear of what it will look like to others. And as I eluded to above, if you're not caught up in the wrong crowd and you don't have hurtful thoughts now, you're not likely to have a problem down the road when success is knocking at your door. But I get that fears will naturally arise. And when they do, I want you to stop, acknowledge it and reframe it. Remind yourself (picture it too) how you'll feel and what you'll do when that next level comes. "It's not the destination that changes you, it's the person taking the journey to the destination that can cause that." If you love you, with more wealth and success, you'll only love yourself more. So get out there without fear and do great things! In This Episode You Will Learn: That money only magnifies who you are now Why it's important to get rooted in your truth How to confront and reframe fears about making more money Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 8989: Three Important Lessons I've Learned from These Billionaires

Some of you may know that some of my favorite books are actual biographies – most specifically of billionaires. I've learned so much by reading about their actual experiences – the wins and fails – and today, I'm going to share my top three lessons I've learned from billionaires Warren Buffett, Elon Musk and Richard Branson. Lesson No. 1 – In order to get some of your time back and get more done, give yourself permission to say NO to more things. "The difference between successful people and really successful people is that the really successful people say no to almost everything." – Warren Buffett Time is our most valuable asset and it should be invested in the same fashion. "Invest your time in all the right places." By saying no, you're gaining back both time and energy, and you're able to get laser focused on the areas that need it. Even if it's gaining back one hour a day, that's getting back just over 15 days in one year! Just think of what you could do with that time with your family and friends. Lesson No. 2 – Go all in! "No matter what you've done in the past, you've got to check your ego at the door and be willing to ask for help." Elon Musk is the perfect example of this as he is so passionate about his dreams/businesses. So much so that he nearly went broke multiple times trying to achieve them. Needless to say, he now has billion-dollar companies and is himself a billionaire. Lesson No. 3 – Make an impact while living a fun and well-rounded life. "A life worth living is a life full of well-rounded memories and impact." Make it a rich, fulfilling and meaningful life without apologizing. Don't make it a life about just your family… or just your business… or just your adventures… Do it all, because how you do anything is how you do everything. These are three of the lessons I tap into when focusing on how I want to live my life. And no matter how you define success, I'm guessing these three billionaires will pass the test. After all, in my opinion they're all living my motto: "When good people make good money, they do great things." In This Episode You Will Learn: How billionaires Warren Buffet, Elon Musk and Richard Branson have influenced my life and businesses Why saying no to more things is so valuable The importance of going all in Why we should strive to live a well-rounded life with impact Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 8888: Our Plans for Success in 2018 with Lori Harder

E

My wife, Lori, is back for another dual podcast! Both of us have been lit over here since ringing in the New Year and we wanted to share some of our thoughts out loud regarding some of the things we've been working on going into 2018 (hint: new eCourse coming in the next couple months). First and foremost, we've both done a lot of reassessing and have gotten really clear and laser-focused on what we want to see and do this year – individually and as a couple – both in business and in play. Find out what we're working to get rid of and what we're working to align ourselves with more – some things may surprise you! We're putting it all about there in this super candid conversation – you don't want to miss it! -- Question Highlights: What was something you loved that we did on New Year's Eve? What is something you do to get clear on your goals/intentions? What are your mindset blocks? What is one of the rituals that you're committed to? What are your favorite ways to find tribe? How do you find the energy to keep up with your habits/rituals and how do you stay in the energy to keep doing it? Why should people be unapologetic about their pursuit of wealth and success? In This Episode We Talk about: Our rituals, how we set goals and how we figure out what the next step will be Getting clear Finding and following the things that light you up Releasing judgment Aligning beliefs with intentions Preventing negative thoughts from taking root and nurturing positive thoughts Chris and Lori's rituals The importance of boundaries to avoid resentment Finding a tribe that helps you think bigger or reinforce positive thoughts Making tiny adjustments one at a time in order to tackle bigger challenges Why play is such a big deal And so much more… Chris and Lori's Thoughts… "Clarity is power." "It's simple, but it's not easy." "Focus on the impact you're going to make. Anything else robs you of your happiness and the world of your gifts." "We don't find our voice in the easy times." "Create tribe for transition." "Elevate yourself through the things you enjoy most, which in turn then elevates other people." "If it brings you happiness and joy – follow it." "Choose possibilities and expansion over fear." "Make choices, not excuses." "Your version of happy is just that." -- Resources: Website: http://www.fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind IG: @chriswharder http://www.theBlissproject.info http://Loriharder.com -- For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.
