Ep 180180: Radically Change Your Life in One Year with Charlie "Rocket" Jabaley
In This Episode You Will Learn About: Having it all and not being happy Being successful yet feeling lost Charlie writing a contract with himself What he left behind in order to start his new life Biking across America Charlie's love of generosity Money mindset Why Charlie values transparency Being a delusional optimist Resources: Website: charliejabaley.com IG: @charlie Twitter: @charliejabaley Mastermind: fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind Show Notes Today I'm sitting down with Charlie "The Rocket" Jabaley, and you guys, this may be one of the most inspiring episodes I have had this far. Charlie Jabaley was once a highly successful music manager for celebrity recording artists, but decided to walk away from it all when he realized it was leading to an unhealthy future. Since then, Charlie has biked across the United States, lost 130 pounds, and lives a more full and healthy life all around. We go deep into why Charlie left his business to pursuit better health, and the different ways he went about creating goals, training for an IronMan, and biking across the country. Charlie also talks about creating the vision of Charlie Rocket, how he manifests change, and why it's so important to give back. This episode is so incredible, and serves as a great reminder that we can strive for wealth in all aspects, not just monetary. Question Highlights: What career background did you come from before your transformation? How were you so successful in some aspects, but so lost in others? What did you have to leave behind in order to begin this new life? What sparked biking across America? What was that like? Where did this drive for generosity come from? What did money mean to you before this journey, and what does it mean to you now? What has made you choose to be so transparent? Quotes "Boil pots of water, not lakes." "I just want to live a great story." "Too many people in this world are "you should" people, they get up on stages or they get on Youtube or Instagram and they say, "You should do this, you should do that," and I never say those words, you should." "See, money is going to magnify who we are." "Nobody is going to believe in you until you get down the road, so you've gotta have this delusional optimistic mindset." Charlie Jabaley wasn't your typical kid from Georgia (United States). Sometimes labelled, "the chubby kid", Charlie was a dreamer. Knowing that he needed to use his imagination as a weapon to survive the playground, Charlie created his first persona, CEO Charlie. He had other ideas. Like pursuing the life of an athlete. But, that had to wait. As a young CEO millionaire of Atlanta Hip-hop management company, Street Execs, he sold millions of records, changed the trajectory of how to market to millennials, and guided the careers of influential artists like Grammy award winning 2Chainz. However, while all the success was pouring in, he battled depression, binge eating, crippling insecurities and a brain tumor. To everyone on the outside, CEO Charlie was crushing it. On the inside, he was dying. Unhealthy, unhappy and unfilled, Charlie retired in 2017 at the age of 29 from both the music industry and the name "CEO Charlie". He made the decision to reinvent his life in pursuit of his childhood dream to become an athlete. Charlie Rocket inspires those around him. He's lost 135 pounds. Became vegan. Ran 3 marathons. Reversed the growth of his brain tumor. Became an Ironman. Just finished his nationally known Dream Machine bike tour across America. Is currently on the cover of Runner's World Magazine and secured partnership with Nike. Charlie has rerouted his ambition of making millions of dollars into his current mission to TRANSFORM 1 MILLION PEOPLE'S LIVES. His name is Charlie Jabaley. His story isn't over yet. Ep 179179: Have Solution Based Conversations
In This Episode You Will Hear About: Solutions based conversation vs. a wildfire conversation What types of conversations we have more of What sparked this topic Offering solutions rather than reinforcing the negativity How to shift your conversations Turn the conversation around Adopting zero tolerance policies Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Show Notes Today I'm going to share a little life hack that is an ABSOLUTE must. This hack is going to help you attract those next level people and relationships into your life, and be the person that others want to be around. Heck, this is the one hack that will even help you make more money. That's right, I swear by it. So, what is this life hack? Always, always have solutions based conversations. Question Highlights: I want you to think about the last 5 conversations you've had. Who have them with? What did you talk about? Have they been solutions based, or were they wildfire conversations? What is the difference between a solutions based conversation and a wildfire conversation? Which conversations do we tend to have more of? Why do I think this topic is so important to share with you all? Once I realized the types of conversations I was having, and decided to shift them to being solutions based instead, everything changed. Why do we default to wildfire talking rather that rise to a solutions based conversation? Simple, it's easier to jump on the bandwagon. So, what can we do? Be hyper aware of what conversations you are participating in. Try to turn the conversation around. Adopt a zero tolerance policy for wildfire conversations. Quotes "There's very few things you can talk about in life where you cannot offer somebody some great advice and make it a solutions based conversation." "It's easier to just join on the bandwagon, join in on the gossip, join in on the complaining." "We train people how to treat us, we train people what conversations we are willing to have, not by what we say, but by what we do." Ep 177177: Four Reasons You're Not Yet Rich . . .
Time for a little wake-up call, friends! There can be many reasons why you're not yet where you want to be, but today I am going to go over four of them. When Lori and I were doing only around 250K a year we got sick and tired and decided to just "GO FOR IT"…and went from 250,000 to over 1 million in one year. Your Goals Are WEAK. You're shooting too low…thinking that you'll just take slow, incremental steps to wealth instead of really exploding! Why not think bigger and set bigger goals? You're not setting the bar high enough. And then when you do, just work backwards, and think out of the box. So what kind of crazy, amazing goal are you going to set this year? Your Tribe ISN'T Helping You. While your tribe might be amazing, great people, but if they haven't been to where YOU'RE SHOOTING FOR, then they have nothing to teach you. It's time to find a new tribe of people who you surround yourself with. You don't have to tell your current one to "peace out" but you need to reach out to additional, different people who will up-level your tribe. You're Too Damn Conservative. You're probably placing too much value on your current "stability" and if you place too much focus on that, you will not be able to take the proper "risks" that you need to take in order to go to the next level. Make a radical change to get a radical new outcome! Take some risks when it's smart. You're Mentally Weak. I say this with the most love possible, honestly. You're scared and afraid of what people might say if you fail or make changes. You're afraid you might look silly. You're not willing to push through the uncomfortable part and endure a short-term struggle in order to reach that long-term success! You're not willing to turn off the tv and pick up a book to learn what you need to learn. Your mental discipline needs a good workout! "These four reasons are why you DESIRE to lead a better life, but you are not yet leading an EXTRAORDINARY life." You see, these four reasons have been holding you back. And again, I say talk about these with some serious love for you. They're the reasons that you DESIRE to lead a better life but you're not yet living an EXTRAORDINARY life. If you can get these four areas cleaned up and corrected, just imagine what your life could look like in a matter of months! In This Episode We Talk about: Why your tribe could be holding you back Four reasons you're not yet rich and how to make some changes in order to fix them How you're probably setting crappy goals and don't even know it Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Ep 175175: How to Set Wealthy Boundaries
In This Episode We Talk about: Setting boundaries Upholding boundaries Seven wealthy boundaries to help ensure strong finances Resources: Now accepting applications for the 2019 For the Love of Money Mastermind as well as VIP Days and one-on-one coaching. Go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind or drop Chris a line at [email protected]! Show Notes Today's episode is all about setting boundaries – more importantly wealthy boundaries. First of all, setting boundaries in all areas of your is a very valuable thing, because when you set these strong, non-negotiable boundaries it naturally helps you achieve a stronger financial situation. So how and where do you set these boundaries? First and foremost, you must remember that: "Boundaries are set and kept, not by what you say, but by what you do." You can't expect people to respect your boundaries if you don't respect them yourself. "It's only a boundary if you reinforce it." When you're able to follow through and actually uphold your boundaries, others respect it as well. When you only talk about it without following through, it's just a wish, am I right? The following are a few "Wealthy Boundaries" that are a good starting point: Paying yourself first. Make a commitment to put away a certain amount of money weekly or monthly to build up your savings. My tip? Set up an auto deposit so it's done without you having to even think about it. Spending habits. What are you splurging on? How often? For me, I love watches and if I wanted to I could buy one whenever I wanted, but I've set this boundary. "I can never buy a watch unless it has a great story or accomplishment attached to it." Who you take advice or coaching from. You wouldn't take financial advice from a broke financial advisor, would you? No. Make sure the person who's doling out the advice is a proven expert and can actually help you. Lending money to friends and family. This is so important, especially as you continue to create more and more wealth. It's not saying you can't loan money to friends and family, but be sure to create clearly defined boundaries. Business budgets. These boundaries are often forgotten, but so important. Set budgets and stick to them, regardless if they're monthly, quarterly, annually or by percentage. Start and end of the work day. Make sure your start and end of your work day works for you and keeps you operating from a full cup. My day doesn't officially start until 11 a.m., and while I have no "end" time, my day always ends with a non-negotiable family walk. Giving. It is so important to give, but make sure you're not giving too much or too little. It's better to continuously give 10% of $100,000 than it is to give everything that's left over. Remember, being left with nothing promotes scarcity, which only pushes abundance away from you. I hope these wealthy boundaries have helped give you an idea of where you'd like more boundaries in your life! Regardless if you use the above or create new ones for yourself, always remember that boundaries only work when practiced and reinforced regularly. Good luck!
