Ep 7373: SUCCESS HACK: Always Buy The Upgrade

Lori and I have been to our fair share of self- and business-development events, and when we do, there's one thing we always do… We always buy the upgrade! Upgrading to VIP (or whatever the upgrade is called) has helped so much when it comes to expanding our tribe and network. "Maximize your return on events." Before I go further, if you're attending an event by the skin of your teeth and you absolutely cannot afford to upgrade – don't sweat it. I applaud you for hustling and just getting to the event! And trust me, there are plenty of radically amazing people in general admission as well. BUT, if you do have the extra dollars, and you're trying to determine whether or not to part with that money, my advice – do it! "Invest in proximity." When you choose the upgrade you're choosing an investment of proximity to the people who are already crushing it. You're setting yourself on a path that may lead you to the answers you're looking for. You're surrounding yourself with the doers, big thinkers and hustlers who also expanded their money mindset to have the same experience as you. And guess what? The people who are consistently in the VIP areas are also seeking you out, too, whether it's as a partner, client or person with fresh ideas. It's a win all around. Is it always comfortable? No. But I promise that when you do, you'll plug into a brand-new tribe that takes your success to new levels. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why choosing the upgrade at events is beneficial How investing expands your money mindset What kind of people buy the upgrade Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 7272: How GIVING AWAY 25% of Their Income Made Them MORE MONEY with Steve Valentine

Thanks to today's guest, real estate entrepreneur, Steve Valentine, your opinion of realtors is about to be challenged. It was never Steve's intent to get into real estate, however after a brief time in the automotive industry he was called to join his family's real estate business as a third generation real estate entrepreneur. Steve found great success, however after a huge real estate crash in 2007 and a foreclosure of his own, he had to fight to get his business back and become a "wealth builder." Steve's business journey is so inspiring, but what's more is all the stories of generosity that go along with it. Be sure to listen in and find out all the ways he's giving back and providing his community more opportunities each and every day. -- Question Highlights: What did your family teach you about business? What lessons did you learn? What did your family teach you about money? Why was losing everything a blessing? What's your advice for people who are facing a huge obstacle? What is this new way of doing real estate? How are you different? What's different about your employee policies? What are some tangible or profitable benefits of running your company this way? What's behind you and your giving away 25% of your income? Where did your extreme spirit of generosity come from? And more… In This Episode You Will Learn: How Steve got his start in real estate and recovered from foreclosure How failure can make your rich Why being transparent can allow you to better help others Why Steve hates the word realtor What makes Steve's real estate business so unique from others Why Steve offers his employees unlimited vacation time Why faith is necessary when determining your donations for the year The power and importance of writing your goals down When and where the idea of becoming a "wealth builder" began And so much more… Steve's Thoughts… "I lost everything, I learned from it and this is how I can help you do it better than I did." "Every failure we have no matter if it's big or small, as long as we learn from it it's one more step up the ladder to something successful." "If you can look at your failures as rungs on a ladder, the more failure, the higher you're going." "When you're generous and your kids see it and catch it, you know you've arrived." "If I can hire efficient people and make my business super profitable, I can write checks." "I just want to write the checks." "If I give this, I can make it again tomorrow." "If we start with generosity vs. income, it changes your life and makes the world a better place." -- I've always said I was proud to be a third-generation Realtor. Although, looking back, I finally realize I am not a third-generation Realtor, but a third-generation Real Estate Entrepreneur. My grandmother, Essie Spencer, held her real estate license for 50 years. She practiced until the age of 80. My late father, Dan, practiced in real estate for over 40 years working together as a team with my mother, Debbie (who still practices). This is where my real estate venture began. After short stint in the automotive industry, I gave real estate a shot. For the first two years of my career, I sat at my dad's desk listening to his calls, and sitting in on meetings, and learning how to conduct business. I don't remember thinking I wanted this type of mentorship at the time, but now I know how valuable it was. I learned customer service and how to conduct business. After my internship, I worked for my parents nearly 10 years. My wife, Wende, and I decided it was time for us to take what we had learned and forge ahead out from under the umbrella of my parents. The real estate market crash of 2006 left us financially and emotionally devastated. In 2008, Wende and I founded Valentine Group. Through trial and error, and failing forward multiple times, we learned to become real estate entrepreneurs with a new way of doing business for a new generation of homeowners also recovering from the fallout from 2006. Since 2008, our group has served over 2500 families and continue to serve more than 200 families each year. We provide solid real estate solutions, designed for each individual client, each and every day. One of the greatest things Wende and I have to offer, though Valentine Group's diversification, is experience. When my father passed, one thing he said resonates in my head, "…there are very few people who will see the multiple markets we've seen in during your short 17 years in the business. We've witnessed the rapid rise in the real estate market in 2003 and 2004, and the astronomical prices and lotteries to purchase homes in 2005 and 2006. Then, the sudden crash in 2007." How true. During this same crash, Wende and I made our way through our own foreclosure. This experience allowed us to truly and honestly help others though theirs. A sense of "normalcy" in the market began to return, for us, in 2010 and on into 2011 as we worked through decreasing inventory foreclosures and an increase in client

Ep 7171: SUCCESS HACK! Connect More People

Over the last couple years, taking a cue from my friend and mentor, Lewis Howes, I've made it my own personal mission to connect as many people as possible. Once you see that it's a gift to connect two people who need each other – it's a no brainer. So how do you go about connecting people? First off, when you meet new people or even when you're talking to an old friend, get present and LISTEN! I know it sounds simple, but by really tuning in and learning what their goals are or what they're passionate about, you're able to connect them with others who have an expertise in an area they need help with or maybe they know someone who does. I've started making mental notes of everyone I talk to and lately, I'm able to connect them to someone else who can help them immediately. And it feels amazing! Not only do I get to have a hand in the magic, but often times the favor is returned down the road. "The more people you can help with their dreams, the more they'll help with yours." Of course this isn't the driving reason to do this, but it is incredible what happens when you find the right people, your tribe, to accelerate your journey or find shortcuts. And we all know how hard it can be to find the "right" people. With 2018 just around the corner, I challenge you to make an intention to ask what people are up to and connect more people. Make it your new addiction to become an ultimate connector. Are you in? In This Episode You Will Learn: Why it's so important to find your people or your tribe How connecting more people can lead to more success for you How to be a better listener Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 7070: The PERFECT DAY Formula for Entrepreneurs with Craig Ballantyne

After having a conversation with my guest, Craig Ballantyne, it's hard to believe that he once struggled with crippling anxiety despite living "the life." It's what he likes to call the "paradox of freedom." He had the freedom, but was still trapped when it came to having panic attacks. Sometimes his attacks came out of nowhere and other times they were predictable (drinking excessive amounts of caffeine or alcohol). He knew it was time to do something about them, however, when he had an anxiety attack for nearly six weeks straight. Having since gotten a handle around his anxiety, Craig now enjoys sharing his story to help others work through theirs. And because we talk a lot about gratitude in this podcast, I love that one of his biggest tips is practicing gratitude and helping others daily. Craig's transparency in this interview is invaluable and I hope that if you or someone you know suffer from anxiety that you discover some helpful tools to help you control them moving forward. -- Question Highlights: What was your upbringing like and how did it lead to your success and the epic knowledge you have today? What did you do to overcome your anxiety/panic attacks? Have you seen a trend among your clients of anxiety holding them back? How have you done well in both personal training and business? What is The Perfect Day Formula? Do you find that you have clients who sacrifice happiness at home for a thriving business? What would be better to start with – your book or The Perfect Day Kit? What role has generosity played in your success? What is one of your all-time favorite moments of giving? And more… In This Episode You Will Learn: How Craig overcame is struggle with anxiety and panic attacks Why anxiety is like a black box How gratitude, generosity and helping others has aided Craig in coping with anxiety Why we shouldn't suffer in silence The importance of having good mentors Why you must figure out what moves you ahead toward your legacy in life – professionally and personally How the Three Cs help you establish rules for your life How your values drive anything you do Why it's essential to prioritize your values And so much more… Craig's Thoughts… "Everything is a learnable skill." "At the root of anxiety is self-doubt." "Admitting a weakness is a strength." "It wasn't the law of attraction; it was the law of action attraction." "You can attract great opportunity into life when you do the work." "Control what you can. Cope with what you can't. Concentrate on what counts." "When your actions are misaligned with your goals it causes internal stress in us." "If you want to do great things, you have to do fewer things." -- Author, trainer and coach, Craig Ballantyne is a Productivity & Success Transformation Coach from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is the author of The Perfect Day Formula: How to Own the Day and Control Your Life — and his brand-new book, The Great Cardio Myth, debunks all the untruths you've been told about cardio being a silver bullet for weight loss and heart health. Craig has been a contributor to Men's Health magazine since 2000, and his articles have also appeared in Women's Health, Oxygen, GQ, Maxim, National Geographic, Men's Fitness and Muscle and Fitness Hers, amongst many others. His articles have also been featured on Inc.com, LifeHacker.com, and Telegraph.co.uk. In 2001, he created the popular home workout program, Turbulence Training, and in 2013 he created the Home Workout Revolution bodyweight exercise program. Over 100,000 men and women have used his 6 Minutes to Skinny weight loss system since 2014. He holds an annual Turbulence Training Summit for fitness experts to become better trainers and get more clients so they make more money and live the Perfect Life. He finally discovered how to beat them with his 5 Pillars of Transformation, and today Craig shows men and women how to use the 5 Pillars to do everything from losing 10 to 75 pounds, getting a raise and making more money, to finding the love of their life, and overcoming any obstacle in the way of success. Ep 6969: The REAL Gift of Being Rich

What's the real reason you want wealth? The power, the "things" or the social standing? While all those things are great here's my thoughts on being wealthy just to be wealthy. "Don't get rich just to get rich because you won't feel any different than you do today." Get rich for the gift of who you become during the process to get there. Money isn't going to make a lick of difference unless you change who you are. Now don't get me wrong – I'm sure you're an amazing individual already – but we're looking for the upleveled version of you. "The wealthy you should be an enhanced version of what you are today." You have to grow new strengths, be more open, expand your network and people and become more giving. After all, the more you give, the more you get, right? "In order to really grow wealthy, you need to really grow." Yes, that means you need to be more consistent and more disciplined. But it also means – and here's the kicker – you need to be more caring! "Becoming wealthy is really a side effect of solving more peoples' needs than you are today." How will your money make someone's life better? Most of the successful people I know and hang around don't talk about their wealth or all the things they have. Instead they talk about the impact they're making and who they want to help next. It's not about what you get back. Becoming the enhanced version of yourself is THE ultimate gift because it's about the person you get to be as you make your way through this life. The money and possessions are just the icing on the cake. In This Episode You Will Learn: What the ultimate gift of being wealthy is Why becoming wealthy has the potential to create a more enhanced version of yourself Why growth is required to increase your wealth Resources: 2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind Apply to be a part of it at: http://ForTheLoveOfMoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 6868: Is The PURSUIT of Money Just a MASK of MASCULINITY with Lewis Howes

I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of my friend and mentor, Lewis Howe's book, Mask of Masculinity. I devoured the book in just a couple of days and love how it brought me just as many moments of enlightenment and breakthroughs as it did resistance. And this is why I was so honored to have an in-person interview with Lewis the other day to talk about it. If you're a man who wants to understand the masks he wears or a woman who wants to obtain the "keys to the kingdom" and the tools to connect with the men in her life, I definitely recommend buying the book (or pre-ordering – it releases Oct. 31) and for sure listening to this episode as he explains more about his journey with this book and also gives an in-depth into his sincere and giving nature. -- Question Highlights: Why did you write Mask of Masculinity and why right now? Was the book a healing process for you as well as other men? Do women wear these masks as well? Which of the 9 different masks did you tend to wear the most? When did wearing one of these masks really cost you something? How have these masks shown up in your business? What if someone likes their masks? How do we know if we have a healthy mindset? Do you ever find yourself purposely trying to avoid masks? What is one of your all-time favorite moments of giving? And more… In This Episode You Will Learn: Why Lewis wrote Mask of Masculinity How his new book helps men let go of their ego and heal How men are conditioned to react with anger and frustration What ways men use masks to fit in or to ensure they're worthy of acceptance How we can break out of our default masks by getting to the root cause of them The importance of being aware of things that trigger your masks When money feels fulfilling or unfulfilling Why it's necessary to have regular conversations about money The reason why Lewis still drives a 1991 Cadillac he bought for $4,000 Why having a holistic lifestyle is a non-negotiable for Lewis What the rewards and prices of wearing masks are And so much more… Lewis's Thoughts… "If we want to be ultimate human beings, we should be committed to our vision, not our egos, which hurt us." "Reacting is never as good as responding from a place of grace." "How can I be driven to achieve what I want, but make sure I'm living in harmony as well?" "Be who you want to be and embrace it, but have peace in your heart." "Ultimate fulfillment is when we continue to grow and contribute to others." "If self-worth is based on a mask, it's temporary." "Even if you can't give financially, you can still give your heart and energy to people and it will feel amazing." "Don't stop being who you are. Step into who you fully are by embracing a holistic lifestyle." "The more you achieve and succeed, the more of an example you can set for others." -- Before LEWIS HOWES became a media sensation for empowering people and sharing 'Greatness' across the globe, he had his share of obstacles to overcome. From having a learning disability, which led to being alone and bullied in school, to being sexually abused as a child, to being injured and broke on his sister's couch, Lewis's story is the perfect example of how anybody can overcome the obstacles in their life and achieve greatness. Fast forward a few short years, and Lewis is a New York Times Bestselling author of the hit book, The School of Greatness and releases his new book, Mask of Masculinity on Oct. 31. He is a lifestyle entrepreneur, high performance business coach and keynote speaker. A former professional football player and two-sport All-American, he is a current USA Men's National Handball Team athlete. He hosts a top 100 podcast in the world, The School of Greatness, which has over 40 million downloads since it launched in 2013. He was recognized by The White House and President Obama as one of the top 100 entrepreneurs in the country under 30. Lewis has been featured on Ellen, The New York Times, People, Forbes, Inc, Fast Company, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Men's Health, The Today Show and other major media outlets. Ep 6767: The Fastest Way Out of Financial Struggle

Do you know someone (or are you that someone) who struggles with growing their income? Today we're going to crack the code of this financial struggle wide open and talk about ways to eliminate it! Most often people think that it's because the person is lazy, scared, or afraid to try new things. Or perhaps that they lack drive or the resources. I believe that it's none of the above. In my opinion, I believe it's because these people aren't regularly expanding their minds. They become stuck because they're not shifting paradigms and they're not seeking different perspectives. "You cannot expect to have new levels of success with old levels of growth." You will never reach new heights in your business if you are still applying old ideas and methods. "When you exercise your mind, everything else expands right along with it." So how do you exercise your mind anyway? I say, expand, expand, expand! Expand your circle of influence (you will likely transcend some in your current circle) Expand your ability to jump over hurdles that get in your way Expand your motivation and drive Expand your business acumen Some of the best ways to do the above is through books, podcasts, coaches and masterminds. If you really want to bust out of that financial rut, all of the above apply. I know it's a lot, but if nothing changes, nothing changes. "You need new ideas to reach new levels of growth." Read new books that offer opposing views. Attend high-level events. Yes, it will be scary as hell, but you will leave a totally different, more expanded person (trust me!). And if you commit to growing your mind and your standards – you will grow your income as well. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why people remain stuck in financial struggle What isn't holding people back Ways to expand your mind and grow financial success Resources: 2018 For the Love of Money Mastermind Apply to be a part of it at: http://ForTheLoveOfMoney.com/mastermind For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 6666: From Trailer Park to Tech Mogul - The Inventor of Face Filters Jeremy Greene

E

By all accounts, today's guest and CEO of PingTank, Jeremy Greene, shouldn't be running one of the most successful tech companies around. As a child who grew up poor, spent years in the foster care system and barely graduated high school, he was certainly not groomed to be an entrepreneur, but there was one difference… he had an innate sense to survive and hustle to get where he's at today. From a start in the music business to the face filters you see today in social media, Jeremy's 8-Mile-esque story is mind-blowing. If you're looking for an inside scoop on pitching your ideas and turning them into realities, Jeremy's no-nonsense talk will set you straight about what works – and what doesn't. -- Question Highlights: Tell us how you got started in the music industry Why did you drop your career in music? Where did you get the posture to present yourself to billionaires? When you were figuring out how to be an entrepreneur, were there setbacks? What's your best trait as an entrepreneur? How do you get people to say yes? Where did you get your huge financial thermostat from? Do you feel that you're able to make a bigger impact because of your wealth? Where do you like to make an impact with your money? And more… In This Episode You Will Learn: How Jeremy went from trailer park to tech mogul How Jeremy got his start in the music business Why Jeremy shifted his focus from music to technology Why you must fail in order to succeed The importance of instilling a fear of missing out mentality when pitching your product What Jeremy's new app Mojiit is all about How one can make in impact without money Why hustling is so important to get the money to build a bigger platform Tips on how to part ways from people you've outgrown And so much more… Jeremy's Thoughts… "I really understand that marketing plays a big aspect in everything you do in life." "If you could create and sell people on a product and you can build a good product, you could convince anyone to be a part of it." "Building a good company starts with building an amazing product first, marketing it right and giving people the fear of missing out." "You don't learn anything until you have failures behind you." "If you want to disrupt anything, it starts with just being OK with the comfortability of you first. You can't sell something to other people if you don't believe it yourself." "Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it makes you comfortable." "Money doesn't define who you are and what you become. Where you grow up does not define where you'll be one day. It's OK to outgrow people, places and things." "You don't need money to be successful. You have everything that's built within you to be successful." "If you have money in the bank and you're not helping people, you're an a**hole." "Do what you love." -- Jeremy Greene is an American serial entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California . He grew up in Maine. Greene was the number one musical artist on Myspace and ended up receiving record deals with P Diddy. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Mojiit. After his musical career ended Greene was inspired by The Social Network Movie to start a tech company and founded PingTank with a friend. Greene received publicity for his marketing stunts, including faking his arrest at a large party and then bringing out Tyga and Kylie Jenner for an impromptu performance. PingTank later did a deal with Facebook to be incorporated into Facebook Messenger. In early 2016, Green launced FwayGoApp, a party invitation and discovery application. Ep 6565: How to Create Explosive Growth through Masterminding!

Today we're doing a deep-dive on the topic of masterminds – why they work, what you might not know, how you can create or become a part of one yourself, and so much more. First off, let's define what a mastermind is. A mastermind is essentially a group of people all working together to mastermind on each other's business (or another area). "The idea is to go into a mastermind with massive, audacious goals and come out on the other end smashing those goals." Lori and I have personally invested and been involved in two business masterminds – one we didn't complete, however we still learned so much from it. Our most recent has been a raging success exploding our income with an additional seven figures beyond our existing goal. So how was this success possible? Below are some key areas that will help ensure a healthy ROI on your investment: Family mentality: Everyone is treated as family and everyone is open to helping each other when they can facilitate – think any aspect of business that you don't know how to do Group diversity: It's necessary to have a diverse group of people and skills to ensure different perspectives Size is key: Not too small, not too big – 20-25 people is ideal Duration: A year commitment allows any breakthroughs to be implemented and completed Enough touchpoints to ensure accountability (quarterly, monthly and weekly) At the same point financially heading toward the same (or similar) financial goal "When you get all the layers right, your significant investment turns into multiple returns." Masterminds are a magical formula that combines ideas, support, accountability and connections that when utilized correctly can help you reach your goals. Don't try to do everything alone when you could literally have 20 or more people making life easier for you. Instead mastermind and catapult your business to new heights. Ep 6363: The REAL Reason 95% of Businesses Fail

So, why do so many businesses fail, or more to the point, why do so many not even get off the ground? It may surprise you to know that often it's not because it's a bad business. It's not because it's a bad idea or product, and it's not because the person isn't a good "business person." "The reason 95% of all businesses fail is because everyone is allowed to call themselves an entrepreneur without actually acting like an entrepreneur." So many people seem to think that being an entrepreneur is this fun, romantic and energizing endeavor – like a magical entrepreneurial movie. But it's actually quite the opposite. It's gritty, dirty, scary and downright uncomfortable at times. Entrepreneurship consumes your life. "You don't build a business in your spare time, you build your business all the time." If you're not willing to do that, your business and your entrepreneurial career isn't likely to go too far. It's all about going that extra mile. You ask for help. You face rejection over and over. You have to learn what you don't already know to reach your goals. True entrepreneurs do all the above (and more). And when they do, their business success follows. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why so many businesses don't even get off the ground Why even good businesses fail About the traits necessary to be an entrepreneur Resources: Lori Harder's The Bliss Project March 2-4, 2018 – Newport Beach, CA TheBlissProject.info For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 6262: The Secret to MORE PROFITABILITY with Thor Conklin

I think you're all really going to love my conversation with founder of Peak Performance Group and profitability expert, Thor Conklin. He first caught wind of entrepreneurship while caddying for successful businesspeople at the age of 13. Not only did he help them navigate through challenging golf courses, he also asked questions, listened and learned tips on navigating his own businesses down the road. Of course he didn't start any at that age, but he credits many foundational elements to that time in his life. Today, Thor does his best to pay it forward by being the "caddie" for others in their businesses by helping them maneuver around problem areas or obstacles that can stray one off their path to profitability. He challenges his clients (and others) to use accountability as a tool to reach new levels of success (hint: you don't have to do it alone!). I love how Thor operates both in his businesses and his life – giving both his time and money to ensure others are moving forward to create maximum results (see special offer below). Be sure to listen to the full episode as he drops some amazing nuggets of knowledge that can help you get out of your own way and take action. -- Question Highlights: Being a caddie, and being around business people, what's the lesson that stands out the most to you? Ep 6161: If You Just Had FAITH - A True Story

Today I want to talk about having faith and how it ties to abundance. Faith is no small thing. It truly has the power to make or break different situations in your life. If you believe it will happen, it will happen. You don't have to know the how or the where… you just have to know. It's acting on something even when you're scared because you know abundance is out there. My trainer, Abe, recently had a faith-testing situation. He hadn't had a vacation in five years and desperately wanted to unplug with a month-long trip in Bali. But of course there was fear around it. Obviously a vacation like that is a lot of money, but on top of that, he wouldn't be getting paid for that entire month while he was away. Long story short, Abe booked the vacation on faith. "I had faith that the finances would work out." And they did! Abe's finances appeared seemingly out of the blue. Here's how abundance showed up for him… I hired him to train me 3-4 sessions a week. Plus, he received a surprise bonus and had the busiest month of his career the month before he left. Long story short? Abe came back from his trip fully rested and more abundant than ever. Now, I've oversimplified the ease at which this all happened, because after all, faith is not intuitive to our brains. Our brains send out the emergency flares any time fear starts creeping in to keep us safe. But this is the exact spot where we need to interrupt those thoughts and do the opposite – no matter how uncomfortable it makes us. "Just because it doesn't feel intuitive doesn't mean it doesn't work." Let blind faith lead you. Don't let fearful thoughts get in the way. Abundance only happens when you truly feel the faith at your core. In This Episode You Will Learn: How one man acted on faith and attracted abundance Why you don't have to know the how or where in all situations Why it's so important to have faith to attract abundance Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 5959: The "Up-Leveling" Trap and How to AVOID IT

My Two Cents – Ep. 59 – The "Up-Leveling Trap" and How to Avoid It We're often told that if we want to get further and have more success we must start surrounding ourselves with those who are doing what we want to do or are doing bigger things. This is a good thing, however, when we continually spend time with these types of people we start falling into the "up-leveling trap," which is comparison. We start feeling like we're not doing enough because we're not where they are. But here's the thing…mentors are supposed to be ahead of you! Don't compare your journey to theirs. Be conscious of your own journey and love where you're at. "You have to pause and look back at how far you've come instead of looking at how far you have left to go." Be grateful that someone else has done it first and is willing to share how to get you there. Be grateful they've given you a "roadmap." "Be grateful for who you are and what you have right now and what you're doing, but be equally excited about where you're going." When you can find this balance between the two, you know you're on a healthy journey to success and abundance. The next time you find yourself about to fall into the up-leveling trap, do me (and yourself) a favor and make a conscious effort to stop comparison in its tracks. Catch your thoughts and meditate for five minutes in a quiet place. Think about and picture how far you've come in the last week, month, year and beyond. I promise it will shift your perspective and help ground you where you're supposed to be. It's definitely normal for these thoughts to come up, but it is not OK to let them stop you, to wallow in them or let them be an excuse. Be grateful that others have paved the way for you and also allowed you to create your own unique path to success. And be assured that if you stay ambitiously on this path success and abundance will follow. In This Episode You Will Learn: What the "up-leveling trap" is and how to avoid it Why the gap between you and your mentors should be view as a roadmap Why it's important to have gratitude for your journey Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 5858: This Disabled Veteran Worth Millions is Paying it Forward with Joey Fazio

I am so glad that today's guest and wildly successful entrepreneur, Joey Fazio, and I were recently introduced by a mutual friend. Growing up in a military family, his life was a bit atypical as his father was gone often (at age 12 his dad was deployed and didn't come home for three years). Joey left his parents' home at the age of 17, joined college a little after only to eventually drop out at age 20 and join the military (Air Force) himself. Always having an innate drive for success and dreams of bigger things, he left his secure military job to pursue the unknown. Unfortunately, his wife at the time (who had two children with) did not share his passion, and they divorced. So, at the age of 26, Joey started over with a negative net worth, but knew he would become a multi-millionaire by age 36. Spoiler alert: He's now 36 and a multi-millionaire. You don't want to miss this episode as Joey shares his amazing, but sometimes difficult entrepreneurial journey. "If you don't have the partner who supports you and sees your vision – leave." "Start at the bottom. Work every position. Be the smartest person in the room." "If you have the opportunity to put yourself in a position of power and that truly helps people and makes a difference – do it." "You can't help anyone from the bottom." "If you piss off 10 people to help a million – do it." "It's not about the money, it's about the opportunity." Ep 5757: Abundance HACK! How To Get GOOD At SALES

Take a poll on how people feel about sales and my guess is that you'll see a large portion of people who are uncomfortable with it or just plain don't like it. If sounds like you, I encourage you to stay put and hear my take on it. First off, sales intrigues me. I'm kind of a nerd that way, but I like it! And maybe it's because I do approach it from a more positive perspective. "You're always selling someone on an idea that you believe in." Whether it's a point of view or a product, I think most can agree with that statement, but link it to money and that's when people start to get uncomfortable. And it's likely because they had bad experiences that helped support that feeling. So my goal with this episode is to change those opinions and feelings around selling and help you get comfortable with it. Let's take the words "sales" and "money" out of the equation. Now you can focus on the people, and offer them a valuable solution for their problem. "You're currently placing too much value on money and not enough value on your customers' needs." It's all about an equal energy/value exchange. As Lisa Nichols puts it, "Sales is just a dignified conversation enrolling two people into a new possibility to enhance their lives." Sales doesn't have to be sleazy and it doesn't mean that anyone is getting the wool pulled over their eyes. Sales is taking an interest in the actual people – not their money (even though that's an amazing side effect). "The best sales are caring conversations." But just like any relationship, don't be surprised if the sale or friendship isn't locked in right away. It takes time and follow-up to build a connection. Have patience and don't make the mistake of stopping that conversation because you think they're going to say no. "Don't create a false no in your head just because the person who you're selling to isn't ready to say yes." A person saying "not yet" is not a NO. Don't get tripped up by doubts and don't stop out of fear or being judged. The world needs your unique solutions! "Not selling to protect your ego is being selfish – not caring." If you're aligned in integrity and you whole-heartedly believe in your solution or product, it will eventually happen and abundance will appear. It is your moral obligation to share your solutions with others. Because if you're not, who else will they turn to? In This Episode You Will Learn: Why people are so uncomfortable about sales How sales is essentially helping to solve peoples' problems Why it's so important to take an interest in those you're trying to sell to Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 5555: MYTH BUSTING! Is "Balance" A Real Thing

Ah, balance – it's something you hear a lot of about. So is it real or is it a fairy tale? If the mere mention of balance has you feeling conflicted, you're not alone. Do we let flow just happen or do we take the bull by the horns and make it happen? As an entrepreneur, you have people like Tim Ferriss who promote a four-hour workweek while spending your time on remote islands or anywhere else in the world you want to work. And then you have the die-hard, Gary Vaynerchuk's, who are all about the hustle and working harder and harder. Honestly, I agree with both sides of that coin because either way and at some point, you're going to feel guilty. It sets in when you're working hard and take a break or not working as hard. Or it happens when you've got your sleeves rolled up, working hard and people tell you you've gotten out of touch and they never see you. That's why I believe that daily or weekly balance is a myth – or at the very least, it's misleading. "Balance is something that's always changing and that's the key. You need to honor it and change with it." Lori and I like to talk about in terms of "seasons." I cannot stress the importance enough of honoring the season you're in. Don't let someone else dictate what you should be doing, what do you feel like doing? "The key is to trade 'should' with 'I feel like.'" Pay attention to what you're feeling like. Are you amped and ready to power through for an extended period of time, or do you feel like going to the beach and eating pizza? Whichever season it is, know that eventually you're going to want a change. If you're working hard and in a productive mode, you're eventually going to want a period of rest, travel or play. On the flip side, those beach days will soon lead to boredom and restlessness and you'll likely crave a productive season. While I'm no expert, my typical "doing" season is about 120 days max and my season of "rest" follows for about 30-45 days. Again, these are just MY seasons – yours may be very different as there's no magic formula. Balance is purely subjective – it all boils down to how YOU feel. So in an effort to help you find balance between your seasons, I challenge you to do two things: Listen to and honor your season. Ignore all social media and other influencers (yes, even me) who are in a different season than you. Trust me. It will only make you feel guilty, Once you figure out this balance, I know you'll feel better. And when we feel better, we can do even more amazing things in life and business. In This Episode You Will Learn: If balance is real or just a fairy tale How balance can be compared to the different seasons The difference between a productive and rest season Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 5454: Changing The World, One Sex Toy at a Time with Polly Rodriguez

E

Now that I've got your attention, I'd like for you to meet Polly Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of Unbound, a sexual wellness company. Raised in the Midwest, this was not the path she saw herself taking early on in life, however after a cancer diagnosis in college and consequently a premature onset of menopause at the age of 21, she was compelled to dig when she found a lack of information in regard to it. What started as a small quest to more comfortably purchase sexual wellness products, Unbound has now grown into a wildly successful business (despite multiple barriers and misconceptions to break down) that empowers countless women to explore their sexuality. Don't miss this inspiring story that proves that anything is possible! -- Question Highlights: • What thoughts went through your head when you were diagnosed with cancer? • What is Unbound? • Where did you get the idea for it and how did it get started? • What was one of your biggest business challenges? • Was there any hesitation about starting a company in the sexual wellness field? Were you worried what your parents would think? • What does the landscape look like for women entrepreneurs? • What has to happen in order for it to be easier for women to have a successful start-up? • What initially drove you to give a portion of your business profits away? In This Episode You Will Learn: • How Polly came up with her business, Unbound • About the challenges of running a sexual wellness company • How Polly overcame the stigmas and misconceptions associated with sexual wellness products • Why giving away a portion of Unbound's profits boosts team morale • Why getting cancer is a huge part of Polly's success • Why it's so important to have a career that's more than just a job, that it has a purpose • And so much more… Polly's Thoughts… "Everything's a good experience if you have the right attitude." "If you can be really vulnerable and honest about what it is about human sexuality that interests you, you can just simmer in that awkward moment and why you're interested…and only good things can come from that." "I had to be brutally confident that it would work out." "Women, especially millennials, want a job that has a bigger meaning or purpose." "It's not just about selling, it's about something more meaningful." "Getting cancer was this weird gift that gave me permission to pursue a different path." "Something that feels selfish can actually be a charitable act in a lot of ways." -- From the start of her career, Unbound's CEO, Polly Rodriguez, has always been committed to elevating the customer experience from acceptable to exceptional. With a background in strategy consulting, she began at the firm, Deloitte, where she innovated new, thoughtful approaches to outdated customer tactics. Translating this skillset to an entirely different industry, Polly's next role was as Director of Growth for the YCombinator startup Grouper, which focused on the most flawed experience of all: dating in New York City (and subsequently globally). Yet, there was one interaction that continued to plague her — the process of shopping for, and finding, adequate sexual wellness products for the modern woman. It wasn't until Polly was diagnosed with cancer at age 21 and went through premature menopause as a result of the radiation treatment that she faced the disparaging barriers that women encounter when seeking to explore their own sexuality. Wanting to ameliorate the process of shopping for sex products — one that is often overwhelming and uncomfortable — she took her place as the CEO of Unbound, a sexual lifestyle company that specializes in subscription boxes, one-off thematic sets, and most recently an original collection. With the goal of helping women empower themselves through sexual exploration, Polly continues to innovate new and unprecedented approaches to a rapidly evolving industry. Ep 5353: One CHOICE That Will Make You MORE MONEY

My Two Cents today is about a simple, but powerful topic, and it's about the importance of becoming more open…waaaay more open. Currently, I know a lot of people who don't understand why they're not further ahead than they are in life. The common denominator? All are working in silos – ideas, groups of people, etc. They've gotten so used to the way things are (and should be in their minds) and they aren't open to anything different. I can say this because I've been this person. I've shut down so many different opportunities all because I had already made a decision as to what it would be like. But once I became more open to entrepreneurship, networking and new point of views, the new possibilities rolled in and became new realities. And as embarrassing as it is to admit, I'm also more open to new people that I may have judged in the past. In order to make this shift though I had to get over the fear first. "Our lack of openness comes from fear or fear of change." I know that change and everything that goes along with it can be uncomfortable, but try different things on for size and see what happens. I've had so many life-shifting experiences that forced me to be more open and at the same time created amazing opportunities – in both life and business. What if that one small (or big) leap changes your life, too? So if you're wishing for more abundance in your life, whether it's money, happiness, memories or experiences, know that it comes down to this one powerful choice. And now's as good a time as any to make it. "Your break is on the other side of choosing to be open." In This Episode You Will Learn: • Why becoming more open will create more abundance in your life • How trying something "on for size" can lead to huge life changes • Why busting through fears is a part of being more open Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 5252: Teaching Teen Tycoons - A Russian-American Success Story with Olenka Cullinan

I heard today's guest, Olenka Cullinan, speak at an event recently and I just knew her story had to be shared with this audience. In a nutshell, this entrepreneurial powerhouse left Russia at age 19 with only $450 to her name (that she borrowed from her uncle) determined to seize the American dream and build anything she wanted. While growing up in an entrepreneurial household (her mom was a die-hard entrepreneur with her own company), she chose to pursue education instead in an effort to distance herself from the entrepreneurial world. Once in the U.S., she worked three jobs at one point to complete her education degree (and completed it without owing a cent!). While Olenka loved teaching people, she soon felt the pull to do more and leapt back into the entrepreneurial world while combining it with her training in education. She may have started off with humble beginnings, but she has since used the skills she knew she had and BUILT her own success. Olenka is determined to help others discover their passions and now teaches teenagers the skills to become successful entrepreneurs in her Rising Tycoons Academy. She truly believes in helping this country's youth turn their dreams into a dream life. I already know I'll be applying the principles she taught in this episode to my children down the road. Be sure to tune in to find out how you can too. -- Question Highlights: Why didn't you choose to be an entrepreneur right away when you came to the U.S.? What is the opportunity landscape here in the U.S. compared to where you came from? Do you believe there is an immigrant edge that gives you a leg up in terms of grit and hard work? What is Rising Tycoons? Where can adults do a better job in creating kid tycoons? What is a "passionista?" What is holding people back the most when it comes to pursuing their passionista journey? Do you see teens struggle with the same limiting beliefs that adults struggle with when it comes to earning money? How do you want your daughter to view money and success when she grows up? In This Episode You Will Learn: How Russian-born Olenka became an entrepreneur living the American dream How nothing is required outside of your own mindset and skills to build success Why opportunity is wide open for everyone Why it's so important to look at the actions that lead to results How Olenka teaches teens success skills in entrepreneurship, leadership and personal development Why parents must educate themselves on the world around their kids Why it's imperative that we stop preparing and start doing And so much more… Olenka's Thoughts… "If skills are learnable, then success is learnable, too." "Comfort and execution don't live on the same block." "You always choose. You can look at any circumstance in your life and choose what it becomes. Is it going to become an excuse or an opportunity? Because you can't have both at the same time." "We can only change the country by changing the next generation." "Stop preparing and start doing." "You have to practice the unsexy routine to get anywhere, but you have to give yourself small pieces of 'candy' along the way to remind yourself why you're doing that." "Kids have no issues with having dreams. They only have issues finding pathways for those dreams." "The moment you stop looking at money as something to move you forward and start looking at it as something that creates love in your community, family and in the world around you, is when you'll change your perspective." -- Olenka Cullinan is a CEO and Founder of Rising Tycoons, where she turns teens into mindful tycoons. Ep 5151: Connect the Dots, an EMPOWERMENT HACK

What would you say if I told you that your future is fully in your control with the help of one empowerment hack? Too good to be true? Possibly, but then you're not using the hack. ;) Today's Two Cents talks about accepting 99.9% responsibility for your current situation. Think about it… The dots (your choices) always connect back to you. Whether it's a moment of weakness where you said yes or no to something or you missed an appointment because your car broke down…it doesn't matter. Whatever the "event" was, you made a choice and that choice is why you're where you're at now. Look, I'm not trying to be an ass (maybe trying to offer a bit of tough love), but this is meant to be a wake-up call to empower yourself by owning your choices! For example, when I lost my job some years ago, I could have blamed the recession, the company etc. But I didn't. I blamed myself because I chose that profession and I could have saved more money so it wasn't such a scary thing. I owned where I was and that day I made the decision to make a career change. "Once you own that you have caused the exact spot you woke up in today, then you are able to determine the exact spot you'll be in tomorrow." It's not always easy to own your choices – it's actually downright uncomfortable. But trust me, when I tell you that it's also where the magic happens. "You're fully in control to make your life awesome…or to make it difficult. It's your choice." Start owning your choices TODAY and create the life YOU want. In This Episode You Will Learn: What empowerment hack can help you create the life you want Why it's important to own our own choices How to recognize who's responsible for your current situation Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

E

Imagine fleeing to the U.S. from communist Armenia at the age of 6 only to live with your family of five in one bedroom of a two-bedroom apartment. Your family is broke, you don't speak the language and you've been elected to go dumpster diving for expired food at the nearby grocery story. Do you feel that immigrants come here with a stronger work ethic and desire to succeed more than someone raised in the U.S.? How do you raise your children knowing they'll grow up privileged, but instill in them the grit and edge to know that they need to earn their keep? Who are your mentors? Did you know deep down that you were going to be this successful or was it a slow progression? What's the secret to asking people to pay you what your worth? How does one build self-confidence? Why is it so important to you to be a massive giver and to have your clients follow suit? In This Episode You Will Learn: How Bedros experienced adversities as an immigrant and overcame them The difference between a poor state of mind and always being financially broke How Bedros is making peace with the scars of his childhood About different ways to raise kids to be grounded and giving humans Why self-confidence is the missing ingredient in many entrepreneurs and how to build it How to turn adversity into an advantage Why it's important to give without expectation And so much more… Bedros's Thoughts… "I've got the immigrant edge and the American dream." "The more you pay, the more you pay attention." "I learned to turn adversity into an advantage." "Take a little bit of money from a lot of people." "Build your self-esteem and confidence so you know that you deserve more. Once you know you deserve more, you will command more." "Being self-aware builds self-confidence." "The best high I can get is to serve." "We, as humans, have to be selfish in order to survive." "I can put my money to work to help the people I love." -- Before You Can Build an Empire, You Have to Walk Like an Emperor… Bedros Keuilian is the One Man Who Can Teach You. As a child, he ate out of dumpsters and couldn't speak a word of English. Today, Bedros is a best-selling author, and the founder and CEO of the world's fastest-growing fitness franchise, Fit Body Boot Camp. Ep 4949: If You REALLY Understood Abundance

These days we've been hearing a lot about having an abundance mindset. Many claim to have it, but they still don't seem to be "winning." My two cents? Many people don't truly understand the meaning of the word. "If you truly understand abundance, the excitement, not the stress, would keep you up at night." Many don't get that if they truly understood what abundance meant, 90% of their problems would potentially go away. And this mindset doesn't just apply to finances. It's also about leaving a bad relationship because you know there's a better one out there. It's leaving your soul-sucking job because you know you can and will level up. You have a hard-wired belief that even if you lose everything, you know how to get it back (and often more). "There is no ceiling other than the one we put on ourselves." Truly understanding abundance means that there's enough to go around for everyone. It means the more you give, the more you get back – in all ways. So why don't we understand? Did we miss Abundance 101? No! We've just been programmed to only see scarcity from a young age. Whether it be our parents (even though they were well intentioned) or the media (Buy NOW before it's gone!), we've been taught that everything goes away if we don't act now. So, I challenge YOU to understand abundance and put an end to that lack mentality. "I challenge you to ask why others keep winning while you follow the rules and can't seem to get ahead." Question what you've done up to this point, and be open to brand new mindsets if you want something different than you have today. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why a lack mindset can be linked to the absence of abundance How you are either attracting lack or abundance How the abundance mindset applies to relationships, money, career and more Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 4747: The TRUTH About RESOURCEFULNESS

If you've been listening to my podcast, you know I want everyone to succeed. And what's more, I love it when a person's success is created by a no-excuses ability to succeed. Does that trait describe you? It's no coincidence that many of my podcast guests possess this same trait. Many have hit rock bottom only to become multi-millionaires later on. How were they able to do this? They turned the few assets they had into full-fledged resources. They were resourceful with what they had! "It's not how many resources you have, it's your resourcefulness that determines your ability to succeed." While some people are just "given" resources because they have the money to put behind it, I find that sometimes these are the people who end up failing. The stakes aren't as high and they're not as personally invested in the business or project. They're not concerned with the seemingly little things. My resourceful friends think a little differently – they see every seed (big or small) as something BIG. "Resourcefulness means you are able to find any little thing that other people might overlook and turn it into something big." Whether it's Googling, working two jobs and saving the money or getting to know the right people, you are fully equipped to create the level of resourcefulness that translates into massive success (however you define it). It's simply a matter of planting the seeds, nurturing them and watching them turn into your dreams. "When you fully grasp the idea that it's all about how resourceful you are instead of what resources you have, that's when you are fully empowered to know that your success is in your own hands." How resourceful are you? In This Episode You Will Learn: The difference between resources and resourcefulness Why having resources doesn't guarantee success How to turn your resourcefulness into resources Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 4646: Is It Better to Be Masculine or Feminine in Order to Gain Wealth in Business with Dr. Jade Teta

For years, Dr. Jade Teta, co-founder of The Metabolic Effect, was considered a jock and class clown – and at the time he accepted that. Ep 4545: There Will Always be PAIN, CHOOSE the one the PAYS

My Two Cents – Ep. 45 – There Will Always Be Pain. Choose the One That Pays. My Two Cents today is all about pain and choosing the better type of pain in all areas of your life. Isn't "better pain" an oxymoron? Well, it can be, but let me explain. There are two different types of pain in life – the kind that keeps us stuck or the kind that propels us forward. This episode is all about choosing the latter. "There's always going to be some type of pain, so choose the one that pays better." Take working out for example. Sure, working out can cause pain. You're literally tearing your muscle fibers so your muscle grows. All that sweat and soreness is the pain. Lori and I work out regularly, so we're choosing the type of pain that helps us grow. If we didn't work out, we would trade that pain for the opposite – disease, weight gain, low energy etc. Either way equals pain, but one offers a reward. The same goes for your financial wealth and abundance. Many are unknowingly choosing to struggle financially by playing the victim for their circumstances (It's not fair…etc.). Similarly, many can choose the pain of self-judgment, knowing they are capable of so much more but not doing it. It's time to start getting uncomfortable. "You're always going to have aches and pains, so let them be pains that give you a life of joy to offset them." You're never choosing to be pain-free, but you can choose the pain of struggle or the pain of growth. It's so important to choose the right kind of pain, but many of us are choosing wrong. Why? "It's easier to choose the type of pain we're already familiar with then it is to choose the type of pain that's unknown." So I say, choose the unknown. Take that leap. Step into your power and consciously choose the RIGHT set of pains. If you do, the payoff will be well worth it. In This Episode You Will Learn: How consciously choosing the right sets of pains can propel you forward How to step out of your comfort zone Why some people are choosing to struggle financially without even knowing it How to step into your power Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 4444: How Wealth Allows This POWERHOUSE WOMAN to be a "Volunteer CEO" with Candy Nelson

Candy Nelson – Episode 44 – How Wealth Allows This Powerhouse Woman to Be a "Volunteer CEO" At the age of 15 years old, Candy Nelson had already gotten the entrepreneur bug. And it was all spurred by a 3 a.m. infomercial for some tapes (which she purchased) by Tony Robbins. Upon listening to the tapes, the longing in her soul was answered and she vowed to set goals and complete them. As the child of teenage parents, Candy's excitement wasn't readily reciprocated, but she persisted nonetheless. With the help of her father and a small business loan, by the age of 19, she started her first business. And while it took a few years to see the rewards of it, it is now a raging success. So much so that she was able to hand over the operations and focus on the creation and operation of the nonprofit organization Animal Friends Sanctuary. Through this organization, Candy is able to donate her time as the CEO and focus on causes that are near and dear to her heart – animal and at-risk kids. Her story (there is so much more to it) is so inspiring as it shows such a shining example of how wealth can do amazing things and make a massive impact on this world. -- Question Highlights: What was it intrinsically inside of you that made you so different as a 15-year-old that you got an idea and followed through on it? How did Tony Robbin's tapes turn you into a budding business woman? How scary was it to start a first-of-its-kind business in your area? Did your first business take off right away? What is one of your biggest growing pains and how did you navigate through it? When did you decide to walk away from the operations side of your first business? How did the 15-year-old you view money and how do you view it now? In This Episode You Will Learn: Overcoming obstacles to create a successful business at age 19 How to "work wealthy" Why it's so important to just start – even if you're unsure About redirecting your course when things don't go as planned How Candy was able to start and become the CEO of a nonprofit organization – and not get paid to do it And so much more… Christine's Thoughts… "We are not the product of our circumstances." "It was a vision – it was something I could see, feel and walk into and that was it. And I reverse-engineered from there." "When you do what's right, things seem to work out." "Some people are so fearful looking 10 years ahead that they never start." "You've got to start and redirect as you go." "You never know if you can accomplish or contribute unless you start." "Does this decision take me closer to or further away from my mission and life's purpose?" "Money is going to just amplify who you already are." "The pursuit of money isn't evil if you have good intentions." "Sometimes we have to go through the struggle to realized what our gifts are." -- At just 19, Candy started her first business just out of high school. A serial entrepreneur for nearly two decades, she has built a successful service-based business, developed a nationwide product-based company and invested in real estate investing since the age of 25. She started a non-profit organization at the age of 26. Candy has donated over 25,000 hours to that charity as a Volunteer CEO and has raised over three million dollars in the last 10 years. She is actively engaged in saving thousands of animals' lives and bringing hope and healing to abused children. She is passionate about encouraging others to stand up and speak out against abuse and cruelty and is committed to inspiring others to live a kinder, most compassionate life. Ep 4343: UPLEVEL Your Financial Results - Instant HACK

So you've probably heard that you're the average of the five people you spend the most time with, but I also believe that you're also the average of the environment you hang out around most as well. That being said, I'm here to offer you some hacks to help you change that environment to change your outcome. While a lot of these will be no-brainers, I think you'll also find them challenging, but stick with me. "At first a lot of these things will feel quite uncomfortable – that's normal. But the goal is to do them often enough so they feel comfortable so that they can become your new environment." Here are a few hacks: Travel. If you don't travel, START! If you do travel, travel BETTER. Get a better hotel room. See what it feels like to walk into a better hotel. How are you greeted? How comfortable is the bed? Up-level your hotel experience. Same goes for flying… First Class! "That extra few hundred dollars could change your level of expectations forever." Clothes. If you can't afford them just try them on. Even if you don't purchase, you are up-leveling how you look and feel. "It's not wasted money if it's an investment in yourself that totally changes your level of expectation from here on out." Restaurants. Not in a place where you can spend money on that expensive of a meal? Get a drink at the bar. "Change your environment – change your results." It's simple. If you never experience something different, you'll never pursue it. That's why it is so crucial to make that S T R E T C H that truly changes your environment. It's the change that truly counts. Of course we all start at different levels, so acknowledge the level you're at and go from there, whether it's an extra $20, $200 or $2,000. Regardless of the dollar amount, any time you bust through that uncomfortable barrier, you experience growth. So, I encourage you… Go splurge a little. Not to hurt yourself financially, but to forever change what you expect of yourself. If you commit to that you will be amazed at the up-leveling effect it will have on all areas of your life. In This Episode You Will Learn: Why you are the product of the environment you hang out in How intentionally changing your environment can change your outcome How to get comfortable with the uncomfortable How to up-level your expectations of yourself Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 4242: How Expectation Hangovers are Costing You Wealth with Christine Hassler

Christine Hassler – Episode 42 – How Expectation Hangovers Are Costing You Wealth Today's guest, Christine Hassler, is one of the wisest people I've had on my show to date and I know you're going to learn a lot from her stories and experiences, too. As a child, Christine always felt as though she didn't belong. Growing up with some health problems, she was always seen as different and wasn't well liked. As difficult as this was to cope with, Christine compensated for it all by focusing on being smart (an overachiever if you will) so she could be super successful. While this tactic worked for a long time, it still never eliminated the feeling that she had something to prove. So after graduating college (double major and a minor in 3.5 years), she went where a lot of people go to do just that – Hollywood. Christine didn't want to be an actor, but she did end up being an agent. Christine's life, from the outside, was amazing – a six-figure career, a successful boyfriend, parties with celebrities etc. – but inside she was miserable and suffering from anxiety and depression. Then with the encouragement of a friend, she met a therapist who loved her unconditionally and for the first time in her life, looked at her with zero judgment. It changed her world. After seeing this therapist for some time, Christine left her successful career to pursue other passions. While at the time this seemed like an easy thing to do, it was anything but, and after multiple setbacks (boyfriend dumped her, diagnosed with an auto immune disorder, massive debt etc.), she still didn't know what to do with her life. Throughout this time of struggle, Christine had to seek what it was she truly wanted and she discovered that it was to serve and share her experiences with others. So, she decided to write a book about her own challenges and experiences and getting through them. And that's when her first book, Expectation Hangover was born. Christine has since published several other books and now coaches individuals and hosts multiple courses. This is the perfect episode for those who are feeling lost and looking for answers or trying to cope with disappointment and unexpected life events. I know I personally had a few mind-blowing a-ha moments throughout our talk and would love to hear if you had any moments of clarity, too. -- Question Highlights: Where does the desire for a successful life come from? How do you make the shift from drive to inspired? What's holding people back from earning what they want to earn in business? How can spiritual entrepreneurs bust through "starving artist syndrome?" How has your abundance/wealth journey evolved? What is an "Expectation Hangover?" What is the key to marketing to millennials? In This Episode You Will Learn: How to create success by getting and feeling inspired Why it's important to have a coach How to use spiritual and practical/logical approaches to create with inspiration About working in your zone of genius Why beliefs around self-worth and money can affect your ability to earn The meaning of "expectation hangover" How to reframe failure and disappointment and treat on the emotional, mental, behavior and spiritual levels Why it's so crucial to surround yourself with other successful people Tips on marketing to millennials And so much more… Christine's Thoughts… "The external cannot fulfill the internal." "Success to me is doing things we love." "Finances aren't the only way that our self-worth issues and limiting beliefs show up." "Money does matter and it's energetic, and it's just another reflection of our overall well-being." "If you want to truly help people and serve and be an instrument, you've got to own your worth because you'll be able to serve more people." "I want to work with people who are willing to change." "You can wait for time to heal your wounds or you can dive in and do the healing work now." "Look at failure as feedback." -- Christine Hassler is a best-selling author, keynote speaker, master coach, podcast and TV host who is committed to guiding people and organizations into their highest potential. She left her successful job as a Hollywood agent at 25 to pursue a life she could be passionate about… but it did not come easily. After being inspired by her own unexpected challenges and experiences, she realized her journey was indeed her destination. In 2005, she wrote the first guidebook written exclusively for young women, entitled 20 Something 20 Everything. Christine's second book, The 20 Something Manifesto written for men and women stems from her experience coaching twenty-something's. Her newest book Expectation Hangover: Overcoming Disappointment in Work, Love and Life is the guidebook for how to treat disappointment on the emotional, mental, behavioral and spiritual levels. What's your abundance story? Are you happy with where you're at? Or do you operate from a place of lack? If you're the latter, it's time to change things up. As you learned from my previous mini episode, we're ALL entitled to abundance, but we're not guaranteed it. That means, when it comes to your own abundance story, it's up to YOU to make the decisions. So first off, you're the one who sets the finish line. Realize that it's a subjective decision as to what your abundance story us. You are radically abundant right now. You just may be choosing to see your current level of abundance as a lack of abundance because of how you're choosing to define it. "Abundance is nothing more than an opinion or feeling. You determine what it is to you." For example, let's say you make $50K a year, and you're not feeling abundant because you feel like you're not making a lot of money until you hit $100K. That lack of abundance you feel is on you. You're the one who created that definition of abundance and you're unable to recognize the abundance in the $50K that you already make. The same goes for the person making $100K who feels a lack because they're not making half a million… See where I'm going with this? "You can't be pissed off if you don't feel abundant, because you're the one who set the finish line." You must recognize that you're the one in control of how you define abundance and appreciate the abundance you already have. To help, I encourage you to start a gratitude practice. Personally, every morning I start my day with a positive mantra. Mine and my wife's is: "I am happier, healthier, wealthier, and more fit than I was yesterday." Then, I do a quick prayer of gratitude – expressing thanks for all the big and little things in my life in that moment. After all, when you're appreciative of what you already have and you're feeling abundance, you're going to attract more abundance. Lastly, know that your abundance story is just that – a story. This story is nothing but ONE interpretation of the events in your life. "The events aren't fiction, but the meaning you put on them is pure fiction. Nothing has meaning other than the meaning you apply to it." So do your best to change the events, people or choices that downgrade your abundance story. Choose well! Consciously choose to see the positive over the negative. "Choose a level of abundance so big that others benefit from it as well." In This Episode You Will Learn: How to create a more rewarding abundance story Why your abundance story is really a subjective decision How to take control of and appreciate the abundance you already have Why having a gratitude practice is so important Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 4040: The Million Dollar Wedding Photographer - BRANDING EXPERT Jenna Kutcher

After studying corporate business and graduating from college, small-town Wisconsin girl, Jenna Kutcher, landed her dream job (or at least she thought) in a large Midwest-based corporation. Unfortunately, her dreams of wearing heels and a business suit morphed into wearing khaki and red – and was far from glamorous. She knew there had to be something more in store for her. Enter in the $300 Craig's List camera. Jenna started taking pictures, enjoying the learning process and sharing her captures online. People started to notice her talent and asked if she would take pictures for them. And so it began, she booked 25 weddings without ever shooting one. A year later, she was doing so well that she was able to leave her corporate job and began photographing weddings full time. Her photography soon developed into a focus and love for branding. She connected so deeply with her brides and wanted to make their personal visions come to life. This love, and let's be honest, branding genius, quickly turned into a six-figure business. Having found such success personally, she was confused when she learned that others in wedding photography were struggling. Seeing the need, Jenna began to teach others what she'd learned. Since then, her photography and branding business has skyrocketed to a seven-figure business (and growing) all based on this founding concept of generosity. From free content and blogs to merchandise and online training courses, Jenna wants everyone to find the same success she has. And she does it all from a place of authenticity, sharing the honest highs and lows of her life and business. -- Question Highlights: How have you taken a very common industry and turned it into a seven-figure entrepreneurial endeavor? How did you book 25 weddings without ever shooting one? Do a lot of artists, in general, suffer from limiting money mindsets? Did you always have a strong money mindset? What does it take to stand out as a wedding photographer? Where did your drive and high standard of performance come from? What do we need to know to build a bigger and more engaged audience on IG? In This Episode You Will Learn: How Jenna's wedding photography (and branding expertise) began. Helpful (but simple) tips that launched Jenna's wedding photography business. How to be resourceful without a ton of money. About limiting money mindset beliefs. That how you spend your time is just as important as the money you make. Why it's so important to first and foremost make connections with people on social media. Jenna's top tips for posting and monetizing those posts on Instagram. And so much more… Jenna's Thoughts… "I landed in the dream job – and it wasn't a dream." "Anyone can go out and do their work for free so they have work to show for it." "I believe we should get paid to do what we love." "We try to guess what people will be willing to pay for our products or services instead of trusting that we can speak directly to the people who will see our worth and value – and pay full value." "Time is my motivator. Money is not. Money is just a measure of how I'm doing with my time." "The more vulnerable I've been, the more I've aligned myself with the right people." "People start to recognize you not just by what you do, but by who you are." "I teach the what and the why, and then I offer the how." "When you hire a team that thinks the best of you, that believes in you, that gets behind you, it's the most incredible thing you can do for yourself, for your sanity and for your business." "Whenever my life hits the fan, my business booms!" -- Jenna is small-town Wisconsin photographer, painter, and educator with big dreams. Obsessed with: mac and cheese, puppies, and yoga pants. Most days, you'll find her in yoga pants, working on the couch with a smile on her face and rescue pups in her lap – or making googly eyes at her hunky husband, Drew, from across the room. She's a wedding photographer, podcaster, a watercolor artist, and an educator – plus, she's always got her bags packed for her next wheels-up adventure. Ep 3939: Finally UNLOCK The ABUNDANCE You Desire by Answering This Question

Do you know why you haven't chased down that radical wealth and abundance that you KNOW you're entitled to and capable of earning? Get ready, it's time for a deep-dive into your mind! I can tell you from personal experience, that it's one of the worst feelings to know that you can do something, but you're not doing it! But the good news is that you can begin to eliminate these feelings by asking ONE question that can help unlock the answers as to why you haven't followed through on your pursuit of this abundance wealth. "Who/what is it serving by you holding back on your quest for wealth and abundance?" Are your wheels turning? We've all been stuck before (yes, me too) because we're serving someone or something instead of rising to the occasion, going out and getting that abundance. Stop playing SMALL! For instance, you're not serving your business when you don't make those sales calls that take your business to another level – you're serving fear. Same goes for people… You don't DARE make more money than those in your group of friends, because that would make them uncomfortable, right? Guess who you're serving? Hint, it's not you! Take responsibility for you and get after it. "You are entitled – not guaranteed – to make the choices to be abundant and wealthy." You must become unapologetic when it comes to your abundance and wealth. Until you do, you're not going to realize what you're capable of earning, doing or creating. Trust me, I KNOW this can be extremely uncomfortable, but it's more uncomfortable to know that you're capable of doing something so much bigger, but you're anchored because you're afraid of making someone or something different than it is today. Know that you're not the only one who feels that way, and if you have to, borrow some faith from a friend and make it into your own. I promise that once you're able to move past this who or what isn't serving, that's when everything starts coming together and abundance appears. In This Episode You Will Learn: About ridding your life of things or people that aren't serving you About why it's dangerous to choose temporary safe zones over abundance How to become unapologetic when it comes to wealth and abundance About the importance of accepting change and getting comfortable with the uncomfortable Entrepreneurship Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 3838: How This Soul-Fueled CEO Quickly got her Business to SKYROCKET with Amber Lilyestrom

Everyone, meet Amber Lilyestrom, a fellow entrepreneur and passionate soul who left a successful career to make a bigger impact and fulfill her soul's higher calling, which has since allowed her to pour more of her time and soul into her family. She now enjoys pushing herself beyond her human limits and mindset roadblocks that inevitably pop up along the way – all to be the BEST version of who she was born to be. What I love the most about this mompreneur's mission and story is that she's done all of this to help others create businesses that align more with who they are. Amber wants everyone to lead the happiest and most fulfilling life through "coming home to their truth." And she loves to facilitate that process. "I've always wanted to empower people to embrace and accept themselves because I never did." Of course, the above is rarely a straight path, and that's why Amber is so transparent about the challenges she's faced and continues to face (mostly her own limiting beliefs that made her question her personal value). Through her own experiences, she is able to whole-heartedly encourage others to take that leap and use what they have (or don't have) to their advantage. "Action builds belief." This podcast is a must-listen for all those who feel that pull on their souls to do something bigger and more true to themselves. It is my hope that by the end of this episode that your soul is fueled, ready to make an impact in your own unique way. "When I invest in me, it is the greatest investment I will ever make in this lifetime because it pays in dividends exponentially." Question Highlights: How were you taught to view money? What actions are you taking right now to overcome challenges? When did you start your business? How did you make the transition from your existing career to your own business? What has changed since your business started that has allowed your business to grow so quickly? What has been the best investment you've made so far? What role has generosity played in your life/business? What are some of the BS reasons that hold other mom's back from pursuing their calling? In This Episode You Will Learn: How Amber overcame her limiting money mindset beliefs. Why there is more than enough time in your day to fulfill your soul's purpose. Why it's so important to teach what you've already went through. How the role of generosity plays in Amber's life and business. Why you are good enough RIGHT NOW to go after your soul's calling. How stepping into your own truth and doing the work that's in alignment with your soul's purpose can make the world a better place. And so much more… Amber's Thoughts… "Our bank accounts and our bodies are really truly these beautiful mirrors for where we are at with our relationships and ourselves." "We must operate at a higher level and clear the space and clutter that's not making us feel good in order to become the master visionaries, creators and leaders that we are." "The more I honor what I feel called to and what I am the very best at, the more abundance and goodness there is in my business, bank account, how my body feels and relationships." "I will always bet on myself." "Give people permission to be who they are." "By you stepping into your truth and doing the work that's in alignment with your soul's purpose and calling, you are making the world a better place. When you don't do that, and shut the door out of fear, then you shut the door on the expansion and growth of mankind." -- Amber Lilyestrom is a transformational branding & business strategist, writer and speaker. Ep 3737: Fuc#*ng Google It!

E

First off, pardon my French, but I really felt the need for an emphasis, a real punch-in-the-gut phrase to drive this episode's message home. One of my recent pet peeves (that completely blows my mind) is when people say they don't know how to do something or how to get started. I politely call BS! "We live in the easiest time to start a business and thrive that there has ever been." Information is abundant and it's at our fingertips – you just have to effing Google it! If you want to learn how to launch an eCourse – Google it! You will no doubt find tons of information – videos, step-by-step tutorials – you name it. "There's not a single thing you can't learn on Google." Now I'm not saying all of the things you find are going to be your best answer (perhaps leave surgery for a REAL surgeon?), however it is so FREEING! You no longer have to let this notion stop you in your tracks. And let's be honest, in this day and age, if you're not making progress in your business because you don't know how, you're just letting fear win. "You're driving that fear train to victimhood." Stop being a victim and letting fear win. Don't be afraid to take that step forward. Give up the comfort of playing the victim and asking for someone to help you. Again, I'm not saying any of this to be mean – I simply care about my listeners and want them to wake up! Three takeaways from this episode: Wake up and realize that you can do ANYTHING! If you didn't know before, all of the answers are on Google. Take action. Don't allow limiting beliefs or fear to slow you down. Don't live behind the shield of "I don't know how" or "I couldn't find the help." Sure, it's comfortable and that's because most of society goes along with that mentality, but it's NOT the truth. The truth is if you want to do something…you can fuc#*ing Google it. Ep 3636: From Gang Member to Multi Millionaire with Ryan Blair

E

Even though my guest today, Ryan Blair, is known for being one of the most successful entrepreneurs out there, you wouldn't know it by his humble, surprised attitude with that title. Ryan's success story alone will have you believing that you too can do anything if your mind is wired right. Oh, and you'll likely discover that you're already a mathematician – you just don't know it yet. Early on in his life, the cards were stacked against Ryan. Coming from a broken home with an abusive father, he never finished high school, and at the age of 14 he was witness to the tragic murder of the girl who gave him his first kiss. Soon after, he was forced into a gang. And while this could have been the move that led to his demise, it instead taught him the essential survival skills needed to succeed as an entrepreneur on the streets. Some years later with a successful street career in motion, Ryan realized that he now had a choice – he could be successful either on the streets – or off. He chose to apply his entrepreneurial success off the streets. With the ability to experience both sides and looking back, he is truly grateful that he was "wired right." Ryan attributes that to stating what he wanted and using reverse engineering (math) to get to where he is today. "You can do your programming and wiring to get exactly where you want to be – you just have to figure it out and reverse engineer it." See, I told you you'd get to do some math! For example, Ryan raised money, he borrowed money, asked for investments – he did what it took to get him where he wanted to be. After listening to this podcast you'll hear the passion in his voice when he talks about these very actions as he believes EVERYONE can become a successful entrepreneur (yes, you too) and it's just a matter of figuring out the formula so you can use math to do it. "The path is the math. There is a mathematical formula. You just have to put in the work to do it." Ryan stresses that you always have a choice. Even if you feel like you can't go into medicine because you're not a doctor, you CAN! But first, make a decision and become self-aware. Then align yourself with the right people to get you there and have an appetite for learning. Absorb everything you can from the people who you want to emulate. Take their best qualities and implement them in your life. What's even better is if you can also find the sweet spot of living your dreams and also creating wealth. "If you have a great life-work integration, you can have a great, happy life." Don't let the societal norms tell you what you can and can't do. A software engineer by training, Ryan knows he's not a conventionally trained mathematician, but he's made himself into one. He personally thrives on the challenge of people telling him he can't do things. You just need to not care what other people think. I dare you to challenge him and see what happens! ;) It's just another example of his passion and drive to do more good things in this world through his success. I love Ryan's take on money as he equates it to the amount of projects he's able to take on. The more money he makes, the more projects he can start and the more people he can help. This is the exact mentality that my podcast encourages… the more we have, the more we can GIVE to others. And that's exactly what Ryan is setting out to do. He is passionate about supporting, serving and building up a family of entrepreneurs who he can do business with for the rest of his life (be sure to check out is entrepreneur in residence training at hashtagone.com). This includes all different varieties of people, businesses etc. Ryan is out to transform billions of peoples' lives and make a massive impact. And I have no doubt that his actions will leave a lasting legacy for years to come. -- Ryan Blair is a New York Times bestselling author, self-made multimillionaire and serial entrepreneur who established his first company when he was twenty-one years old and has since created and actively invested in multiple start-ups. Now at age of 38, he has founded and sold numerous businesses for hundreds of millions of dollars, is the founder of global healthy lifestyle company, ViSalus, and is a venture capitalist. Ep 3535: Our Single Greatest Overhead

For the last handful of years or so, I've had a phrase/mantra that I've repeated to myself over and over: "Ego is our greatest overhead." I attribute a large part of my wife and I's financial abundance to this very phrase (it will be my next tattoo – hold me to it). There was a time not that long ago that my ego drove a lot of my decisions, in turn costing me…I don't even want to know how much money and potential partnerships. There were so many missed opportunities because my ego sensed fear. Yep, when we feel any type of fear – judgment, failure, not being accepted or success – ego slams on the brakes and "saves the day" before we do something really stupid and embarrass ourselves. But here's the thing… "Your ego isn't programmed to choose the types of risks and decisions that are needed to achieve massive financial abundance." Speaking of finances, your ego will also encourage you to make bad decisions so you look successful instead of being successful. And who will want to help you if you already look like you know what you're doing? "You'll never get ahead while you're pretending to be ahead." So what do you do to calm your ego? Good news, it's simple really (albeit challenging now and then). Recognize it (or often someone points it out to you). Once you're aware, it's just a matter of catching it in the act, recognizing it and reframing it. Once you're free of your ego, you'll find that everything flows faster – relationships, income, happiness, opportunities, sales etc. And we could use a little more abundance and little less ego, right? Ep 3434: Getting Past FEAR: From Broke in the Desert to a $30 Million Business with Marshall Morris

Marshall Morris – Episode 34 – Getting Past FEAR: From Broke in the Desert to a $30 Million Business I must say that this interview is one of my favorite interviews to date because internet marketing ninja, Marshall Morris, kept surprising me with his down to earth, get-it-done attitude, generosity and life and business insights. Did I mention that when he started out, the only internet skill he knew was checking his email? More on that later… First let's talk about how his career began. As the son of a hard-working, humble pastor, Marshall was taught early on the value of a hard day's work. In fact, at a young age, his father would "loan" him out for the weekend to different farmers he did business with to help out (for very little pay). This weekend help wasn't about making money, however, his father really just wanted to instill in him the value of working hard. And it's with this same mentality that his dad encouraged Marshall to attend college, but also informed him that it would be his responsibility to pay his own way – as that's the way he did it. Growing up in an impoverished family, his dad worked hard to pay for his college while attending so he'd never have to take out a loan. Not deterred by this, Marshall joined the military so his schooling could be paid for as he went. He never thought he would be deployed, but then 9/11 happened. Obviously, while deployed Marshall couldn't attend college so instead he read a lot of books (12 hours a night for a year) so he could continue at least some type of education. Among those books, he found that those focused on business resonated with him the most, and upon returning from his deployment he took it from there. Admittedly having more of a sales mindset from the beginning, he dabbled in real estate but gradually got out of it when the market took a turn. After returning from being deployed, Marshall was presented with the opportunity to help a friend of a friend with advertising sales on an automotive site that was struggling. Knowing very little about the internet, but feeling that this business could go somewhere, he offered to partner with this person. Their goal was to just make some money, make it a success and figure out the sales and marketing along the way with "Google university." Eventually the company started doing well, and they sold it to a bigger automotive company. It was through networking that he met his now business partner, Justin, who was in internet marketing. Having only a Facebook page, he enlisted the help of Marshall. Both found that their strengths and weaknesses balanced each other and they created the business I Heart Dogs. And the rest is history with other businesses such as I Heart Cats, I Heart Birds (and many more). Marshall and business partner, Justin, excel at building business models and then using those models anywhere. For them and their current niche, they've found that the more they do, the more they find opportunity (and who wouldn't want that?). But how did they build this brand/model to be so successful in the first place? Marshall states that it comes down to authenticity. "People want something that's authentic. We crave authenticity in a world that's so fake." That's why Marshall's business makes it a point to give back to the communities they serve. Particularly with the I Heart Dogs mission, they built a program that would help feed dogs without homes or in shelters (so far they've fed 8 million dogs in 24 months). They aim to be as transparent and as authentic as possible. "We see numbers, but they're people like us with needs and desires." Marshall attributes more of their success to the fact that people want to feel good about their purchases AND who they're buying from. The more authentic you can be, the more you're going to attract people. And when you do this you're giving context to your conversation with your customer. To Marshall, it's more than just selling a product, it's about showing customers opportunities and making them feel like they're part of a movement. When you're talking openly and not just about revenue-oriented topics you build the communities/followers to go with it. And when you get people to be a part of something and feel good about it becomes a part of their identity, too. That's why Marshall and his business are so passionate about encouraging others to free themselves and achieve their dreams as well. Naming fear as the biggest limiter, he acknowledges that fear is always going to be around. "You never get rid of your fear, you just battle it." The more complicated life and business gets, the more things come at you and the more people break down. You can't escape it, so you need people to support you. "Fear isn't a fact, it's an emotion." Marshall is grateful to have his wife as his rock and main support person along with his family. Often times, when things get stressful, it's a matter of taking a few days off to reboot and spend time with them. One crucial time in Marsha

Ep 3333: COMFORTABLE is the CRACK to which we are ADDICTED

The title kind of makes you think, doesn't it? Maybe you think I've completely lost it, but it makes perfect sense. Often times our desire to stay comfortable is why we haven't reached goals or the abundance we long for. So many of us are addicted to that feeling that place of being comfortable and it keeps us treading water in the same spot. "That comfort drives every single decision we make…or don't make." Think about that… The comfort that you think is so great is keeping you at a certain level. As the famous saying goes from Jim Collins goes, "Good is the enemy of great." How often do we just do things to "get by?" Or if we are taking massive action, it's usually to avoid pain. But how often does that drive to do more last once that threat of that pain is gone? (Hint: not long!) Take your workouts… How often are you pushing yourself when you've already put in a "good enough" workout? How about your pay? Are you making enough to just pay the bills, but not so much to create an abundance? You've likely hit the comfort zone. You're not taking risks because there's fear you may fail, lose money or injure yourself. They're all excuses that you've fooled yourself into believing. But I've got news for you… "If you work hard to protect what you currently have, then that's all you'll ever get." Ask most successful people and you'll find that they gave up the "good enough" mentality long ago. They've failed time and time again, but they continued on. They worked when they didn't feel like it. They invested when they didn't have the money to invest. They sold their "comforts" so they could achieve their dreams and they constantly walk that fine line between success and failure. There are no guarantees, but we all have to make our peace with that. So how do you change this mindset? Simply put, change what you consider to be comfortable. Don't seek comfort in the same places. If that means associating with different people do it. If you know certain people are going to sabotage your efforts, steer clear. But never doubt your capacity for abundance. When the pain is too great, you will choose to seek a different destination of comfortable. "You were put here with a certain set of gifts to do something incredible enough to be abundantly wealthy." Never forget it. You never know who needs those gifts. Ep 3232: How to Become a SOCIAL MEDIA CELEBRITY by GIVING with Amanda Bucci

It's not often that you hear of successful entrepreneurs who never actually planned to be an entrepreneur. And that's just one of the reasons why I'm so excited to share with you my conversation with YouTube star and "accidental entrepreneur," Amanda Bucci. It all began as Amanda was finishing up her nursing degree in college. With an ongoing interest and passion for fitness, she decided to track her fitness progress by creating an Instagram account. Without any expectations of a following, out of nowhere she had 15,000 followers. So how did she attract these people? Through GIVING! As many of you know, when you post progress pictures, your workout routine, your thoughts etc., you're going to get questions about how you were able to achieve your results. And with her spirit of generosity, Amanda felt called to respond back (paragraphs at a time) because she genuinely wanted to help. There was no money being made at this point, but that soon changed. Building a reputation as a coach, Amanda soon started taking one-on-one clients in addition to waitressing. Add studying for nursing exams and Amanda was maxed out. To free up time, Amanda decided to ditch the waitressing and create and sell an ebook. There wasn't a plan, just a vision and the desire to help others (and help herself as well if she could). Her first ebook, The Ins and Outs of Tracking Your Macros was a huge success and she found in addition to her coaching clients, she was making enough money to cover her living expenses with a little extra. With a nursing career still in sight, Amanda struggled. She didn't have the desire or extra time to study. Her passion for nursing had transitioned to fitness. Nonetheless, Amanda followed through, took the registered nurse exams and…didn't pass. A common occurrence, Amanda scheduled to take the test again, but when the time came take it again, she decided against it. It was time to take her fitness career to the next level (at this point she had already made $50,000 in just six short months!). Amanda took on more clients, started providing more content and kept sharing on Instagram and YouTube. So how did she do it in a world FULL of social media fitness stars? Amanda advises to not get discouraged by the amount of people who are doing something similar. There are so many people who need YOUR special message and guidance. "People want to connect with people. It's not just the information that people are seeking." Amanda feels that people buy things because they like the person they're buying a particular product/program from. "You can still shine your personality through your content in a way that makes you stand out and makes you unique." If someone else is doing something similar…great! But know that you have the power to make it better, different and MORE valuable. A game-changer for Amanda has been her practice of being transparent in so many areas of her life. It's about giving people a first-hand look into your life… Share your struggles, what you're feeling and what you're doing. The more you share, the more successful your community/following will be. Being so new to entrepreneurship, throughout her recent experiences, Amanda had never really thought about her long-term financial and impact goals. "I was focused on growth. I was focused on being better every single day and providing valuable content." Realizing she needed to seek outside help for her business, she joined Lewis Howe's Mastermind group (where we actually first met). Amanda has learned so much from him and other fellow entrepreneurs about what she wants the future of her business to look like. And one thing that was inevitable, she needed to offer more products and unapologetically charge for them. While this was difficult at first, Amanda realized that charging someone often guarantees more success, because people are held more accountable. She also reflects that it's refreshing to know the value of what you're offering. For example, her new high-ticket coaching services are offered at a higher price point than she's ever done before. And while fear and doubt creep, in she had the a-ha moment of: "I was able to give so much more because I didn't feel resentful toward the price that I charged." And guess what, the coaching services were a success! This doesn't mean you're not going to have nay-sayers who accuse you of manipulating or "scamming" people, but at the heart of your business, you know what you're providing. And don't forget, there's always the block and delete buttons, which Amanda has become more comfortable using. ;) As long as you're providing (aka giving!) value to your audience (and some free content, too), you have just as good of a chance as anyone to build a successful business. Ep 3131: Abundance Hack - Are You Confusing the Universe

My Two Cents – Ep. 31 – Abundance Hack – Are You Confusing the Universe? Have you ever wanted something, thought about it incessantly, only to proclaim at a later time that you don't? What if I told you that that action alone could be preventing you from multiple things – from a car to a successful business? "Everything you do, say and think is manifesting something physical. It's creating a result." Any hands up in agreement? I'm guessing I have a few skeptics. So before you think I'm getting all "woo-woo" on you, let me frame it from two different perspectives. No. 1 – If you're a believer in the Law of Attraction, you understand and likely support this theory. Your energy attracts other like energy. No. 2 – You either don't believe in this theory or you're just unsure of it – and that's OK! What I have to say will still resonate because what you think and say directly affects your subconscious and what you do (and how it affects your financial results). When your thoughts and statements are contradicting one another – you are ultimately holding yourself back. Let me give you an example… In your heart, you like nice things, but when you're talking to your friends, you tell them that you don't. Or you would love a new luxurious car, but again, you downplay it by saying it doesn't matter, you just want to have a car that "gets you from point A to point B." If this sounds familiar to you, you're not alone! Everyone, at one time or another, has done this very thing. We do it to fit in or justify where we're at in life in this very moment. But ultimately, your mixed messages are confusing the hell out of the Universe. "When you tell these little lies to feel happy for 30 seconds, they're actually robbing you of lasting happiness for years to come." And you may be turning away future success, too. I mean, what successful person is going to want to partner or help someone who doesn't welcome/attract success themselves? It's not until we start to live more unapologetically and make a habit of being honest with ourselves (and those around us) that we will start manifesting what we want in our financial picture. Let's start getting you what you really want by giving the Universe a clear message. In This Episode You Will Learn: Abundance Law of Attraction Financial Success Thinking one thing, doing another Living unapologetically Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 3030: Everything You've Wanted to Know About LEADERSHIP with Steve Farber

One would never know that the highly successful leadership expert and author, Steve Farber once dreamed of becoming a musician – playing guitar, writing songs – the whole bit. Those dreams, however, were put to the side when he soon realized that supporting a family and music didn't mesh well together at the time. So, he gave up the idea of a career in music and began his search for a job. Fortunately, he had a friend who had an investment business and he offered to take him on and show him the ropes. A few successful years later, Steve opened his own company – and found that he had become an entrepreneur. He soon realized though that despite running a thriving business, he hated it. Witnessing people inevitably lose money took a toll on his heart, because he genuinely cared about people – he wanted to help them. Realizing he could do more, he got out. Instead, Steve decided to take his business background, along with his passion for human beings, and combine them to start doing training, facilitation and consulting work. Along the way, Steve also discovered that he was also passionate about leadership. He made it his mission to help people grow into their own extreme leadership. While an expert in the field of leadership, Steve still has his checks and balances when it comes to either speaking at events or other training courses. Years ago, an attendee at one of his events about authenticity questioned if Steve was actually modeling what he was speaking about. That hit him hard. Was he truly speaking from his heart or just doing all the "right" things? Reeling from this comment, he sought out the advice from a mentor, Terry Pierce, and he had some simple but valuable advice. First, you're never going to connect with everybody. But specifically with the man who questioned Steve's authenticity, it was important to "Assume he was right and go from there." Take a moment to see if there's some truth. Whatever the answer, know that you can only learn and grow into a better leader. So what makes a great leader? Steve strongly feels that leadership has nothing to do with your position or title. It's not just about looking out for yourself and stepping on other people as you go. "The greatest leaders are the ones who invest themselves in other people's success. There's a generosity of spirit and in what they give." Not limited to money, this includes sharing time, energy, contacts and so much more. Extreme leaders, as Steve likes to call them, do it because it's the right thing to do. It's about implementing a spirit of inclusiveness in addition to the structure of it. You can still have that hierarchy within a company and still function in an inclusive way. Real leaders are committed to changing at least their piece of the world for the better and making radical leaps (not coincidentally the name of one of his books) in love, energy, audacity and proof. As you likely guessed, this isn't the status quo way of thinking (but Steve and I would love it to be). So what do you do when there's opposition? What if you're the minority in a situation? Steve coaches that it's all about finding your center of gravity. What do you love about the work you're doing? Where's your heart in this? Your values? "If your heart's not in it, you're not likely to take a stand." Whether you're against the status quo or right alongside it, Steve advises that you must make the decision to LEAD. Keep in mind that it's OK to say no. It's perfectly acceptable as long as you're making the decision consciously and being aware of the "oh shit! moments (OS!M). "If the only reason you're not doing something is because the idea scares you, that's the reason to do it." Let fear be your guide. Sometimes that fear actual means, "I should proceed, not retreat." Pretty soon, you'll be seeking out those OS!Ms, and that's ideal because it means you're always growing! Because sometimes, "It's the love that gets us to step up and take action, and the OS!M is often the experience of taking the action." Steve acknowledges that there are several different types of leaders/entrepreneurs out there and along with that different works styles. Some people work the standard 40+ hours a week and others boast a 4-hour workday. His take on it? "To each their own." At the end of the day, if you're creating and accomplishing what YOU intend to do, it doesn't matter how you do it. On the flip side, however, if you're not reaching your goals, you may have to adjust. When it comes to "work" in general, be it as an entrepreneur or in corporate America, Steve believes that all of it's good. Not everyone is wired to be an entrepreneur, just like not everyone is wired to work for someone else. To Steve, the problem lies in the work atmosphere. "We should be changing the nature of what it means to go to work – wherever it is." Even if it's mundane work, if you love the people and the company you work for, why shouldn't it be a joyful experience? Extending on that point a bit furth

Ep 2929: Dealing With NAYSAYERS... Jake Paul's Advice

My Two Cents – Ep. 29 – Dealing with Naysayers... Jake Paul's Advice. This past weekend at a mastermind event, I asked one of the younger (but very wise and successful) attendees, Jake Paul, how he deals with resistance or other people who are out to criticize what he does. His simple answer: "Don't let a few dirty dishes in the sink ruin the rest of the home." Boom! Enough said. It really is that simple, isn't it? I mean, why would we ever let something so small disrupt such a large structure? You wouldn't! The same goes for your life's work/mission. It's pretty much guaranteed that when you answer your calling (your mission), the nay-sayers start showing up. But are you going to let a few people convince you to quit what you're doing? No, of course not! But it's not always so easy to turn the other cheek and take the high road. That's why I've come up with three tips that will help you when people start to speak out against what you're working toward. Keep them in perspective. This goes along with the dirty dishes quote above, but don't let a few people cloud all the good you're doing. They are a TINY minority in a LOVING majority. See them with LOVE immediately. This is a tough one, but such a game-changer. When we can consider where the other person is coming from (different beliefs, different upbringing etc.), we have to believe that what they're saying is truth to them. "Someone's perspective is always their reality – you can't change that." And obviously, they loved you enough to share their perspective – right or wrong. Sometimes, it's simply just that they wish they were doing what you're doing, but they didn't want to put the work in. After all, it's easier to do nothing than it is to do something, right? Have a ZERO-engagement policy. I know sometimes you're going to want to defend yourself, but it only takes one screenshot of a message to send you and your mission on a downward spiral. Your safest bet? Don't waste your energy…or your time. "No energy should be wasted on anything that isn't strategically moving your goals forward." If you can implement these key tips when resistance shows up, you will achieve your mission faster and with less stress. In This Episode You Will Learn: Focusing on your mission Tips to fight resistance Nay-sayers Entrepreneur Resources: For more stories and tips on becoming unapologetically wealthy, follow me @Chriswharder on Instagram and check out fortheloveofmoney.com.

Ep 2828: Starting an EIGHT FIGURE Business on CREDIT CARDS with Dr. Mike DiMarco

Like a lot of us, Dr. Michael DiMarco started his career in jobs that didn't serve him (or the people he was supposedly serving). Looking back, he's now grateful that being fired from those jobs was just one of the things that needed to happen for him to start pursuing his own dreams. "Everything is a little nudge pushing you to where you're supposed to be." With an ongoing interesting in both body building and lifestyle health, Michael took charge and started to create the life he wanted. And because he had a passion for helping others in the body building arena (especially those who were the victim of crappy supplement sponsorships), he also co-founded the thriving supplement company, Shredz. The company passionately believes in selling quality products in addition to providing educational information on lifestyle. Let's back up a sec here though… Did I mention that Shredz was originally started on a $15,000 credit card? While for some this would lead down a road of disaster, Mike's upbringing taught him to be responsible and he made it work. He and his found started out with the basics – finding a manufacturer and starting small so they didn't go further into debt. And over time it's become a success story – now an eight-figure company and growing. But even with Michael's wild success, he truly believes that his success has never been about the money. "Money isn't the goal. Put yourself in the consumers' shoes and think about if you're adding value their lives." Sure, if your short-term goal is to make a lot money, you can deceive and tell people want they want to hear with zero follow-through. However, if you want to make money and an impact for the long term you need to add value and do the things that fill your cup. "If you want to have a great life and be fulfilled, you have to do the things that make you happy and feed your mission or purpose in life." So what advice does Michael have for budding entrepreneurs? He encourages others to build a brand that everyone can identify with. "You have to create a brand that connects." Don't create a business just so you can see your name. Help as many people as you can, whether it's with that business or your day-to-day actions. It's not worth as much if the business is just about you. "If you attach a purpose to your business or your business already has a purpose, that to me is the way to make an impact." Whether through his own chiropractor practice or his company that helps people get healthy, Michael uses his wealth to do just that. "Money and success allow you to amplify the impact you can make." Message received loud and clear. If that doesn't inspire you to DO more, I don't know what will. Ep 2727: Is It OK to PUBLICLY Share Your Random ACTS of GENEROSITY?

For some, My Two Cents topic today may be quite controversial, but we're going to talk about it anyway. (Check out my upcoming challenge at Fortheloveofmoney.com/challenge) When doing a good deed or a random act of kindness, is it acceptable to share on social media (or anywhere else) – be it with videos, pictures or posts? Some would argue that if someone shares their generous act that it automatically becomes a selfish one. But does it? I say a resounding hell no! With all the negativity in the world right now – more than ever – what if we saw more posts about generosity and giving? In my opinion, "The more random acts of generosity shown the better." Compared to seeing posts of people tearing each other down (politically, personally etc.), messages that share someone doing something GENEROUS makes people hopeful. Maybe it even makes them feel guilty (in a good way) and causes a person to ask themselves, "When did I last do something nice for someone?" Of course there will always be those people who think you're an a**hole for gaining attention for a "selfless" act, but who cares?! "The real person who should be questioned is the person doing the judging, not the giving." Besides, even if there's an ulterior motive – it's still helping someone and doesn't take the good out of the good deed. Don't be afraid of what any naysayers will say about it! "Share the damn deed with pride! Be unapologetic. Set an example. Be the light. Start a ripple effect of generosity that someone else was too afraid to do." So here comes the exciting part. I believe in this practice so much that I wanted to start a challenge around it. "I want to walk the walk and get as many people unapologetically doing and sharing random acts of generosity." So starting on June 12, I'm kicking off a 7 Day Generosity Challenge. That's seven days of generosity and sharing it with the masses. "Every single act – big or small – truly matters. And together we can make the biggest difference you've ever imagined." Get creative – it can be anything. Buying someone's coffee. Donating clothes to someone in need. Ordering a pizza for a business who you think would enjoy it. Leave a few five dollar bills in random places where you know someone could use them. The options are limitless. "No act is too small." If each of us does our part, we can set a new standard. We can create a new ripple of generosity. And I'll be doing this right along with you! Be sure to follow me @chriswharder as I give away $2,000 worth of prizes to those who participate throughout the 7 days. For official rules of the 7 Days of Generosity Challenge, visit fortheloveofmoney.com/challenge. And while I'm not typically a person who likes to ask for things, I would LOVE for you to please share this episode with your friends. Sure, this is a contest, but I'm interested in making this a MOVEMENT. Thank you so much for helping me make this a reality. I can't wait to see the ripple effect at the end of the 7 days. Let's go be generous! Ep 2626: What does THIS PREACHER think about gaining MASSIVE WEALTH? (and HOW to do so!) with Joshua Feuerstein

Joshua Feuerstein – Episode 26 – What does THIS preacher think about gaining massive wealth? From very humble beginnings and a terrible speech disability, Joshua Feuerstein's story is not one you want to miss. His experiences and stories are jaw-dropping, and while you may not get why I have a preacher on this podcast, you will by the end as he drops some invaluable social media knowledge bombs that will blow your mind. For those who may not know, Joshua Feuerstein is a viral conservative social media personality, speaker, evangelist and political commentator with over two million daily Facebook followers. His bold perspective, cutting-edge presentation and resonating message have fueled several of his videos to break the coveted 100 million view mark. With between 30-50 million people viewing, reading and interacting with his posts on a weekly basis, he remains one of the leading social media voices in the Christian conservative movement. But this wasn't always the case for Joshua. In the early part of his life, he had a terrible stutter. He was bullied and teased (which he's now thankful for as it gave him some thick skin), but he had a loving home and an especially generous father. His father went out of his way to be kind to others – literally taking groceries from their home (when they had very little to give) to help those who were in need of them more. Witnessing such generosity, at the age of 17, Joshua felt called to give some of his things to a local church as well. After doing so and later attending a service at the church, he had a miraculous encounter with God. His stutter completely disappeared. Nothing gradual about it. It was gone. From this point, things starting looking up for Joshua. At the age of 19, he was speaking at several speaking engagements at churches and other large events. He even had an offer to become an NFL broadcaster. Things were going well, up until five or six years ago though, when his fiancée at the time broke his heart. Suffering from deep depression, it was one of the lowest points of his life, so much so that he pictured himself pulling the trigger on his own life. It was then that he had an epiphany where he recalled God's story about the five loaves and two fish…while as a whole it couldn't feed many, by breaking it into pieces it could feed thousands. Similarly, Joshua thought, "God could actually use my broken-ness to bless other people." And so it began… He started sharing his true, authentic self and the struggles that came along with it. People loved his transparency and as a result several of his videos went viral (some reaching more than 100 million views). Now an in-demand social media consultant, Joshua shares the "secrets" behind creating a viral video and gaining a loyal social media following for your brand. "If you say something that other people agree with, but don't know how to articulate it, they will share it." "If you say something that other people agree with, but they're afraid to say it – they share it." Your success is largely dependent on your authenticity. When it comes down to it, you want people to CONNECT with you and everything that you are. So let people see your flaws. "People want to see the real YOU – they don't want a façade." Furthermore, make sure you're being authentic to YOU and finding the niche around that. Make it something your passionate about. "Find who you are and build a brand around that – and invest in branding yourself." Know your audience. If you desire to be extremely neutral, you're not going to develop as loyal of a brand. Joshua admittedly uses a radical approach. Keep in mind that your biggest enemies can be your biggest evangelists… Being as conservative as he is, he's aware that there's always going to be some kickback. But to him it's one of the highest honors. "You're going to irritate some people. And if you're not, you're probably not doing it right." "Don't be afraid to tap into your opposition marketing and sometimes let your haters share your stuff, too – or at least talk about it." And don't take it personally… The haters don't necessarily hate you, they just don't like what you stand for (love that this relates to my last podcast!). So now that you've found your audience, how do you keep them? This is one of my favorite parts, because like me, Joshua also feels that generosity is key. He suggests consistently giving people VALUE. Don't try to monetize your following immediately or they'll likely end up mistrusting you. "Give people around 80% of your best stuff and then charge them for the last 20%." Also, be sure to let people see how you're doing good in the world. This doesn't mean you need to be boastful and showy, but when you lead by example, you're also inspiring others to do the same. As a preacher, Joshua believes that wealth can be a great thing. "Money isn't evil. It's if you simply love money to the point that it owns you, instead of you owning it." He also believes in the "sow and reap"

Ep 2525: A MIDDLE FINGER to SUCCESS!

Well, that got your attention, didn't it? It got mine, too. Let me explain… The other morning, my wife, Lori, and I were on our way to Soul Cycle, one of our weekly workout outings. It was a good day and we were chatting back and forth. We had been driving for only 10 blocks when out of nowhere a guy who looked like he was ready to go to work, gave us the middle finger. This was no ordinary execution of flipping the bird though… This was a high-flying, fully extended middle finger that tracked us as we drove by. I give the man an A+ for effort. We hadn't done anything to set him off – we were driving under the speed limit, no loud music etc. The only thing left was that we were driving a Ferrari and obviously he had a problem with what it represented – wealth. Was I angry? Of course I was – the guy had just put a dark cloud to the start of my day. But that anger quickly turned into compassion as I realized just how much pain something must have caused him to trigger such an act. And this is just one of the reasons I started this podcast – I want to shift people's perspectives around money. "You'll never be able to change your current situation if you have any hatred toward the people who are in the situation where you'd rather be." Have you ever judged someone by their bag, their car or the clothes they wear? We all have at some point. But ultimately, "You can't hate wealth and have it at the same time – it just doesn't work." I realize that this goes both ways… I mean, I had no more of an idea what that man's story was than he had about mine. But what if we all knew or asked what a person's story was behind their wealth? What if they donate a large part of their wealth to charity? What if they donate their time? What if… And sure there's always bound to be that stereotypical jackass, but again that doesn't mean that all wealthy people are the same. I challenge you to think this through the next time you encounter wealth – whether it's in abundance or lack. Let's work on shifting our money mindsets so we're able to, "Let everyone thrive so we can ALL make a difference."
