In This Episode You Will Learn About: Why we are passionate about the Own Your Future Challenge A K-shaped recession Entering the knowledge industry Sharing what you know Resources: ownit64.com Show Notes: Lori and I have been asked to partner with Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi on the biggest act of generosity they have ever done! It's an incredible opportunity, but we didn't just fall into it. There's an entire story behind how we were asked to be a part of this, and why we decided to say yes. Many of you have heard our story before: In the Great Recession of 2008, Lori and I lost everything. Our jobs, our homes, and our possessions. But at the same time, we gained so much — we just didn't realize it. Millions of people are going through something similar right now. It's our duty to do what we can to make sure people are taking up all of the opportunities that are abundant during this time. One of the biggest opportunities right now is in the knowledge industry. People are getting fed up with the traditional education complex and are looking to take a more direct path through self-education. All you have to do to take part in this is share your story, your experience, and your knowledge, as well as everything you've had to learn along the way. Most people aren't there yet, but a passive side hustle — not a busy, time-consuming, expensive side hustle — is the way to get there. Ep 457457. Successful People Do These 5 Things

In This Episode, You Will Learn About: Showing enthusiasm and passion Taking messy action Getting comfortable with asking for help Collaborating for success Showing up consistently, even when things are hard Resources: Text FAST to 310-421-0416 to get early access to my mastermind and $500 off your enrollment Show Notes: We've worked with many successful people over our careers, and many of them go on to achieve even greater success. Meanwhile, some people continue to struggle in their businesses, never quite reaching their full potential. The thing is that what people struggle with seems to be universal: We hear it all again and again. We've identified the common traits that set apart those who succeed from those that struggle. If you can embrace these five traits of successful entrepreneurs, it can quickly shift your results for the better. Enthusiasm and passion Enthusiasm doesn't mean being loud and bubbly in public — though, honestly, that can help. It means that when you describe your product, when you do your marketing, or when you tell someone what you do, people can feel the passion in you. If it doesn't come naturally to you, don't worry: enthusiasm is a muscle you can build. So get pumping. Messy action Time is your most valuable asset. You don't need to know everything before you start. As long as you have some idea of what you are doing, you can figure out the rest as you go if you are just taking action. And chances are, you'll learn it even faster. Unapologetic asker Many people are so focused on providing value to others. That's great! But how would you provide value if you never knew what people needed? Let's flip it around. How great would it make other people feel to know that they are providing you with something you value? That's right: fantastic. Collaboration Collaboration is the shortcut to success. Collaboration in your business, your social media, and your marketing will fast-track you to success. Focus on networking and partnerships and help others grow while helping yourself. Instead of looking up to the titans in your industry, look to the people at your level and you can all level up together. Consistency Statistics show that people have to see your offer 7-8 times before deciding to buy from you. With how hard it is to reach people, you need to take action daily if you want people to see you enough. You can learn all of these on your own. You don't need anything to start doing these things. Ep 456456. New Rules for a New Economy - with Ramit Sethi

In This Episode, You Will Learn About: The importance of early, consistent action in your finances The two stories of the pandemic How financial advice has shifted during the pandemic How to change your outcome Why finding a dream job is a core part of living a rich life Finding what season you're at in your career How to systematically address wealth inequality Resources: iwt.com Find Your Dream Job: iwt.com/podcastdj Instagram: @ramit Twitter: @ramit Show Notes: Ramit Sethi returns one year after everything changed forever to talk about how the pandemic has impacted the career and finance world. He's the author of "I Will Teach You To Be Rich" and a personal development expert with a website that gets over a million monthly visits. We leverage his experience to talk about how money management has changed since the pandemic hit, what "K-shaped recovery" means, how job and career advice has changed, and whether or not you should be looking for a new job or house right now. Question Highlights: What is the biggest predictor of financial success? What are the biggest changes in people's finances that you've seen since the pandemic hit? How has your advice changed in this post-pandemic economy? What can people do today to change their outcome? Why have you shifted to talking about the job scene? What do you do when your partner is in a different career season? What systemic changes can we make to align wages with the cost of living more effectively? Guest Bio: Ramit Sethi started iwillteachyoutoberich.com while studying technology and psychology at Stanford. Since he came from a middle-class family, the only way he could afford college was to pay his own way. That's when he built a system to apply to 60+ scholarships. His hard work paid off, and he earned enough to attend Stanford. But when he got his first scholarship check, he invested it in the stock market… and immediately lost half the money. Oops. That's when he decided to learn how money really worked. While studying psychology and human behavior at Stanford, he saw all these "tips" that financial experts kept throwing around — like "Keep a budget" and "Stop spending money on lattes" — and realized most of it made no sense. He also realized experts loved to tell people what to do...but nobody was actually doing it. Instead of saying "no" to spending on everything, he wanted to use money to say YES. He knew there was a better way to live a rich life — if we could use psychology to focus on what actually works. Not just for personal finance, but all aspects of life: money, careers, relationships, business, fitness, and more. Since then, he's been testing and sharing his findings with the world via I Will Teach You To Be Rich. He has also written a New York Times bestselling book, been profiled in a 6-page Fortune article and pictured next to Warren Buffett in Forbes Magazine. He has been featured by a long list of media, including the Wall Street Journal, ABC News, NPR, Fox Business, PBS, CNBC, and more. He also has more documented success stories than anyone else he knows — more than 20,000 at last count. Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out chrisharder.me.

I'll give you my answer upfront before I explain my reasoning: Money is neither good nor bad. It is simply what you choose to interpret it as. And how you interpret it will dictate what action you take, and what action you take will determine whether it was the greatest time of your life or the worst time of your life. So start choosing the perspective that will empower you and ignite you to take action, and you'll be on the side of the coin that talks about how great these times are. Ep 454454. Easy = Frustration

In This Episode You Will Learn About: Doing the hard things The psychology of facing tough days Choosing your version of hard Acknowledging the season that you're in Procrastination disguised as productivity Resources: Text FAST to 310-421-0416 to join our Fast Foundations mastermind group Visit liquidiv.com and get 25% off your first order with promo code HAPPY Show Notes: When you stop doing the hard stuff, life actually feels harder. It's not always easy to do the things you need to do to live the life that you want. But if you skip out on the hard stuff, the rest of your life is only going to get that much more difficult. Doing it may be the hard part, but the reward makes life easier. There are a couple of psychological tricks to help you face a challenging day. One is to block out the impact of how hard it's going to be and instead focus on how it's going to feel on the other side. You can also choose to feel grateful for everything you have in your life — including the things afforded by those hard things. You also need to acknowledge the season of life that you are in. Sometimes what you desire is on the other end of doing something you don't want to do. If you enjoy personal space, but you have a goal that requires you to momentarily give that up, acknowledge it upfront so that you know that this is only temporary and that it will be worth it. Life is going to get hard. That's unavoidable. But it's up to you whether the hard things you do in life lead to a more comfortable life on the other side. Pick the hard you want in life, and don't let the drive to live easy lead to frustration. Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out chrisharder.me.

Ep 452452. The Humbleness Sweet Spot!

In This Episode You Will Learn About: The two types of people on social media Finding the humbleness sweet spot The 50/50 rule Not judging others' motivations Resources: Text FAST to 310-421-0416 to join my Fast Foundations mastermind group Show Notes: Social media tends to do one of two things: it makes us brag and show off way too much — which turns people off — or it makes people so afraid to show up and be judged that they hide everything that they're doing. Being humble to a fault doesn't do anyone any good. We've all seen those people that are posting pictures of themselves in lamborghinis or next to their private jets, showing off how luxurious their lives are and selling you a lifestyle that they probably aren't even living themselves. This runs rampant on social media and it creates the impression that people with money are all conceited. This causes people to not pursue the wealth they deserve because they don't want to be perceived that way. That brings us to the other side of the coin. Some people are just way too humble when it comes to money. They don't show anything online because they don't want to be judged — for what they have or what they don't. They mean well, but they miss out on the opportunity to inspire others and give them someone to look up to, to show them what level of success is possible and the work involved to make it happen. This leads us to finding the "humbleness sweet spot." Being able to show people what's possible, inspiring others, but not doing it in a way that's embarrassing or paints success in a bad way. We should all strive for finding this spot, because it's by no means easy to judge. You'll make mistakes — I know I have. But when we find that spot, we can all do great things. Ep 451451. Are You Caught in the Middle?

In This Episode You Will Learn About: Whether or not you're 'stuck in the middle' Why being stuck in the middle hurts Purposefully upping the stakes Resources: Text FAST to 310-421-0416 to join our Fast Foundations mastermind group Show Notes: Are you trying to get things done without going all-in? This doesn't affect the people who haven't made a commitment and are doing nothing or the people who are already all-in. This is for the people that have a lot of potential and are working hard for their dreams, but a part of them still wants a different life — and they're allowing old habits to hold them back. If you want a change in your life but you're still stuck in your old ways, you need to burn the ships. Up the stakes on your new life so that you have no choice but to keep moving forward. That may mean taking investments in your company so that you have to create a return for your investors, but doing extreme things in your life requires extreme action. Ep 450450. How to Grow a Massive Podcast - with Jordan Harbinger

In This Episode You Will Learn About: The story of how Jordan was kidnapped twice How Jordan's podcast became so successful Jordan's thoughts on Clubhouse The best way to network without live events Jordan's "Connect Four" method Resources: jordanharbinger.com 6 Minute Networking Course Listen to The Jordan Harbinger Show Instagram: @jordanharbinger Text FAST to 310-421-0416 to join my Fast Foundations mastermind group Show Notes: Jordan Harbinger is a former Wall Street lawyer turned podcast legend. His current show rakes in over 11 million listeners per month and was featured as part of Apple's "Best of 2018" awards. Not coincidental to that success is the fact that Jordan is an incredibly talented networker. We do a deep dive into his "Connect Four" method of networking and how networking has changed in a world without live events. We would also be remiss to not discuss how to grow such a successful podcast, how to monetize it, and the future of the industry. Question Highlights: How did you get kidnapped twice? How did you get into podcasting? What is it that you're doing that makes your show so successful? How do you think Clubhouse will affect podcasting? How are people supposed to network without in-person events? Guest Bio: Jordan Harbinger is a Wall Street lawyer turned podcast interviewer with an approachable style and knack for securing high-profile guests. His show, The Jordan Harbinger Show was selected as part of Apple's "Best of 2018." Hailing from Michigan, Jordan was an inquisitive kid who was fascinated by the internet at an early age. He went to law school at the University of Michigan and landed a job on Wall Street as a corporate lawyer. Jordan wasn't interested in climbing the corporate ladder. But he was curious about a partner who was never in the office. Dave spent his days at charity events and playing racquetball. How did he keep his job? Dave told Jordan that he brought in business for the firm. To do that he didn't sit at his desk: he spent his time building and managing personal relationships. After hard work and intelligence, Jordan felt like he was learning a "secret third path" that nobody ever talked about. Ep 446446. If I Had to Start All Over

In This Episode You Will Learn About: What I would do if I had to start over Coaching on a small scale Scaling up as you grow Launching a course and building a lead Resources: 2021blueprint.com Show Notes: One of the most common questions I get is this: If I didn't have the audience I have now, if I didn't have the money I have now, if I was just a regular person starting from scratch… What would I do? How would I start over? I'm going to share with you my plan to make one million dollars in just 24 months. It's a simple plan, but executing on it isn't always easy. Year One: The first thing I would do is figure out one skill that I have and find ten clients right off of social media and referrals, and I would coach those ten people for $2500 over 90 intense days. That would be $25,000 in just 90 days. I would invest half of that money and live off of the other half for the next 90 days. Then I'd do it again. Result: $50,000 in six months. Now that I'd have proven results for myself, I'd repeat the same process again for $3500 over the next six months. Simply coaching people on Zoom on one skill I have mastered would have earned $120,000 in one year, with me saving half and living off the other half. Year Two: After a year of a proven track record I would continue the same trend, charging $5500 to each client in Q1, $6500 in Q2, $7500 in Q3, and $8500 in Q4. Adding that up, with ten clients every 90 days, comes to $280,000 revenue just from coaching. I would continue to save half and live off of half. But I would add one more thing in year two: In Q3, I would record a video course on the same topic. With my $200,000 in savings, I would spend $100,000 of that on Facebook ads to promote this course. This can easily add up to 50,000 new leads. The course would launch in Q4 of year two, and converting just 4% of those leads at $300 per course would lead to a $600,000 launch. Don't get caught up in the numbers. If you don't feel comfortable charging that much, cut the numbers in half or even quarters. That is still a lot of money to make in just two years from nothing. And if you're still unsure, then it may be time to start upgrading your money mindset to overcome your limiting beliefs. Ep 445445. 3 Things to Make You Better in Leadership AND Relationships

In This Episode You Will Learn About: The commonalities between leadership and relationships Giving feedback in the moment Being honest, open, and building trust What gets recognized gets repeated Resources: Visit outstandingfoods.com/lori or use code LORI for 25% off your first order! Show Notes: There are some common threads between being a good leader and being a good romantic partner. Nobody is going to be great at either when they're just starting out — just think back to your first relationship and I'm sure you'll agree — but with some intentional practice, we can become better leaders and better partners at the same time. Give feedback in the moment Nothing is worse than letting a grievance sit and then coming back to it after the other person has moved on. Some people get over things much more quickly than others. If you try to bring something up later, the other person may get confused, defensive, or angry. And small things left unaddressed continue to build up until they become a huge roadblock in your relationship. That can all be avoided by bringing it up in the moment. Being honest, open, and building trust Building off of that last point, giving feedback in the moment is what is going to make people learn to trust you. Being honest also empowers other people around you to open up and be their best, and that is the sign of a good relationship in business AND life. What gets recognized gets repeated When you see the kind of behavior you want, you have to work to recognize it in a way that acknowledges the other person. This will help that behavior stick and give further clarity to the types of behaviors you want. This also opens the trust door for feedback and makes it easier to breach the conversation around what can be improved. If you take in these three tips, you're going to make it a lot of the way towards being great in both leadership AND relationships. Ep 444444. A Lesson in Scarcity

In This Episode You Will Learn About: The updated lesson from my $4500 Christmas lights story Being penny wise but dollar dumb The dangers of a scarcity mindset Providing value for what you charge Resources: Text ELITE to 310-412-0416 or go to fortheloveofmoney.com/mastermind to see if you're a good fit for my elite mastermind group Show Notes: A few months ago, I told a story about spending $4,500 to get Christmas lights put up on our house. This story had two points: One, never apologize for what makes you happy, and two, know the value of your time. Those lights brought me enough joy that it was well worth the cost, and for me to spend the time putting them up could have cost 10x the hourly amount I paid. When it came time to take those lights down, which was included in the cost, I decided it would look nice to leave some up on our palm trees. When the company then invoiced me for the cost to leave the lights up — which would have saved their team time — I was floored! This company that I was so happy with up to this point was being penny wise and dollar dumb… and because of that, they lost my return business. The first lesson I have for you out of this experience is just that: Don't be penny wise and dollar dumb. Don't nickel and dime your customers in order to squeeze as much money out of them as possible at the expense of their repeat business. The second lesson is not to live with a scarcity mindset. Scarcity leads you to collect pennies now rather than dollars later. It tells you to milk every customer for all they're worth now, instead of happily serving them year after year. Scarcity always costs more than you think it is saving you. Be financially responsible. Go for the upsell. But make sure you have a good reason for it, and provide real value for it. Ep 443443. We've Rebranded! And Here are the Secrets Why!

In This Episode You Will Learn About: Why we've rebranded Why you need to niche down when first starting your business When it's time to rebrand The shift that's happening in our economy Resources: chrisharder.me Show Notes: Welcome to The Chris Harder Show! New name, same great mission as ever. I aim to give you every single tool, trick, and skillset you need to grow your business, your money mindset, and your wealth. Most importantly, I want you to become wildly unapologetic about your pursuit of success — because when good people make good money, they do great things. So while our mission is the same, I'm adding to the toolbox even further… in order to get you to where you're going faster. Why We're Rebranding Times change, and you and your brand need to be able to keep up with that change to give people the value that they need. When I started For The Love Of Money, I wanted to focus solely on financial empowerment — a topic I still deeply care about today — but I knew that this was only going to expand over time. At the beginning of building an audience for your brand, your goal is to make your niche as specific and succinct as possible, so people clearly know what you're about and who you are for. But once you've gained a level of notoriety, and you begin to be recognized for more than just your central topic, you can start to branch out and help people even further. If I'm going to accomplish my mission of bringing you to the next level financially, then I need to be able to teach you about more than just money mindset or a few tricks with your money. I need to be able to teach you to earn that money in a big, big way. Now, as The Chris Harder Show, I can attract even more guests. I can get more people to share the show. I can have more of the conversations that I want to have. And this all adds up to one thing: More value for you. Follow me on social media @ChrisWHarder on Instagram and check out chrisharder.me

But as a small business owner, she didn't always have the cash in her bank account to pay for these types of services. It was a catch-22: In order to be more profitable, she needed to up her game … but in order to up her game, she had to spend more money. When Tata looked around, she saw many of her creative and entrepreneurial friends running up against the same problem—and often, they needed her help with social media. Naturally, they started to swap services. And something amazing happened—everyone grew their businesses, together. A master connector, Tata created Barter & Be to help other women expand their networks of creative female entrepreneurs, and to facilitate the growth of their businesses without the hefty price tag.
