Ep 7676 - How to Fall in Love w/ Sales and Create Money on Demand w/ Allyson Chavez

Shownotes How would you like to learn how to sell from a woman who went from being broke to making over $230,000 in 6 months? What about a woman who went from absolutely hating sales to falling in love with it? Lucky for us, that person is our guest today. Allyson Chavez is a prosperity transformation coach and teaches others how to manage their thoughts and energy so they can get out of their own way, consistently hit their targets, and love their lives as they redesign their reality. Today, Allyson is sitting down to talk with us about the tactical mindset she’s adopted, how she thinks about money, and how she did it all in such a short period of time. Eight years ago, Allyson made the choice to leave her current company and start her own coaching business. She dove headfirst, showered in self-doubt, exhausted, and living through a very masculine-based sales mindset. Simply put, her mental energy was expended and wasn’t a sustainable way to scale her business healthily. The harder she worked, the harder she fell. Allyson’s journey is one from rock bottom to soaring success. She found herself at a point of ‘financial armageddon’ where she was spending more than she could afford, leaving her in 90k of personal credit card debt. She loved what she was doing, but she wasn’t in a healthy place. So, she made a dramatic mindset shift. She put what was causing her pain on the back-burner, starting hustling on the side through full-time jobs and even becoming a crossing guard. Through that, she realized there was something about a mindset that was crucial to her success. Through intentional breakdowns of her process and understanding what money is on a spiritual level, she was able to explode her business into a massive, money-making endeavor. We’re often taught to play the inner game not to lose as opposed to playing that inner game to get ahead. It’s focused on strategy with no weight put on the emotional and spiritual side of things. When that game is won internally, the external self reaps the benefits as well. First and foremost, money is energy, Allyson says. And energy is naturally inclined to expand. We are wired for expansion and increase--money is a tool for growth. If you don’t set your sights on that next goal, you can quickly slip into self-destructive habits. Money by itself doesn’t fill the need for security at a foundational level--money is a channel, not a source. As far as money goes, many people make it God. Your connection to higher power needs to be the source. It’s about centering your agenda around making yourself happy--even 2 minutes at a time. Taking her family on a trip was, in Allyson’s opinion, incredibly purposeful. She didn’t care about cost because for a few moments they were able to breathe. So often we have a locked-in mentality of trying to manipulate our circumstances. When we are able to pull away from that and realizing it isn’t working, clarity occurs. When we make it okay to feel pleasure, we are able to manifest our genuine needs. Be simple about it! It’s not all about sophistication and having your ducks in a row--these are masks. There is sophistication in simplicity. What happens when you release the pressure on yourself? Sales and Allyson’s relationship was not so good. In fact, Allyson HATED sales. She went through an experience where she unabashedly wrote her true feelings on a piece of paper and destroyed it. This cathartic experience helped come to terms with the fact that despite her successes, sales felt bad. She was obsessed with scripts and tangible, laid out, step by step, inauthentic sales. When she shifted her beliefs to tell herself she was a master of sales and could convert whenever she wanted, she realized that sales calls are all about relationships. A script is important to keep you on the rails and in control, it’s not what should drive the conversation. You are here to offer something that you think is a good fit. If they don’t want that, then you know you don’t have to push them towards that. It isn’t about manipulation or creating a problem. The truth is, if you position yourself intentionally, most people will want what you have to offer based on your prospecting. People want what they want and they can want it a lot--but unless there is a MUST, it won’t happen. STOP looking for people who can afford you and start looking for people who will do whatever it takes to work with you. You’ll know the client isn’t at that “must” level, you offer a scale for them to land on where their comfort is. LINKS Allysonchavez.com Prosperity Experience Group on Facebook

Ep 7575 - How to Close 90% of Your Sales w/ Sherrine Washington

Closing sales can quickly become a daunting task if it’s not your forte. Sometimes, wrapping up a sale can be the hardest part of a conversation and can make or break your outcome. This week on She Sells Radio, Elyse is sitting down with a mastermind in the art of closing. A former Mental Health and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Sherrine Washington developed a system that allows her to consistently reach an 85-90% same-day closing rate on sales of $25,000-$55,000 through the psychology of selling. Today, she’s breaking down how exactly she does that. Sherrine’s approach to selling has always been against the grain. By leading a conversation with her client’s needs first, as opposed to her own goals and expectations, she saw a massive increase in closed sales. She has a Master’s degree in the counseling field, which she applies to her sales philosophy, deeply rooted in the psychology of selling. Sherrine’s methodology of selling is designed to remain authentic while making a sale. By building an organic relationship, she is able to move the client forward in the sales process without an ask and close the sale naturally. Through her personal journey surviving obesity, Sherrine learned that by leading someone through a process, you allow them to make decisions unimpeded. She uses a simple transitional statement: “The next step in the process is…” Because you’ve shown them the steps and built a rapport, the close happens organically. Sherrine takes us through the high-level steps of her R.E.A.L Talk Selling™ System. She primarily works in the elective surgery field, which can be difficult in many cases. This means getting them an appointment and scheduling the procedure. With her system, she begins her sales process at first interaction, which is often over the phone. This is where you get to know the client. It needs to feel that you have all day--unlimited time--to talk with this person. Most people don’t expect that level of engagement over the phone. There is an emphasis on tone, silences, and the quest to find who that person is. From there, the next step, getting them in the office, is natural. Between those moments, you make yourself readily available for that person as though you’ve known them your whole life. By the time they’re in the office, you’ve become friends and they’re looking for you. These genuine acts of care set you apart in a crowded field. Sherrine believes in sharing stories. When she talks to potential clients and there is a challenge, she refers to a memory of a similar situation and the solution. People like to know they are not alone in the hurdles they face. It’s about asking “what else?” Sherrine reminds us to not hold back due to fear of rejection. The reality is there are people out there that need you. Be fearless in your questions and be curious about who the person is. It’s all about building relationships and slowing down. There can be an immense amount of pressure to put food on the table, hit metrics from corporate, and sustain your income. It can be even harder when you’re good. This happened to Sherrine--especially with pressure from higher-ups. She fed her mind and soul to combat the noise. Setting the tone of her day with positivity is a difference-maker. Lifelong education and having a pathway to constant improvement is essential. In closing, Sherrine’s advice is that everyone should have a coach. In order to take it to the next level, guidance is essential. Invest in improving. You can either stay where you are and do nothing, or you can be fearless. LINKS https://realtalkselling.com/

Ep 7474 - Learning to Trust Yourself w/ Samantha Skelly

While it might not seem obvious why today’s topic is at the core of your success, it’s a major aspect of achieving your income goals and learning to sell in a way that is authentic to you. On this episode, we’re talking about trusting yourself. Suppressing emotions, negative internalization, and societal pressures can hold you back from accomplishing what you’re here to do. Our guest today is Samantha Skelly, a seven-figure entrepreneur, speaker, and wellness coaching expert. She’s here today to talk about breathwork and the depths of understanding and trust it can take us. Samantha’s journey included an incredibly difficult relationship with food. There was a deeply rooted distrust of herself in regards to food. She wasn’t sure if she’d be able to handle the outcome. Her connection with uncertainty was a stress point. She lived with relentless self-doubts and inner criticisms that bled into every aspect of her life. Eventually, she hit a point where she lost sight of who she was. When you live without that trust and don’t have a healthy relationship with uncertainty, Samantha says, you force yourself to live only with what is known--and that’s a fraction of what’s possible. Now, with determination and resilience, it’s clear that intuition is trustworthy and it’s easier to take risks. Because no matter what happens, you will persist. When you can’t handle the ‘no’ it’s impossibly hard to chase the ‘yes.’ When you don’t attach your self-worth to rejection, you’re free to achieve. Starting the process of learning to trust ourselves can be daunting. Samantha says it’s en embodied experience. Living through change is the only want to truly witness it. She breaks it down into three pillars of connection: mind, emotions, and intuition. Using techniques like mediation, breathwork, or whatever it is, we can really tap into the intuition aspect at a foundational level, that opens pathways to trust. In doing that, you can ask and answer so many questions of yourself and understand that the signals you feel are worth listening to. Because we have so much evidence from our mind and intelligence, it tends to override intuition. But with work, those moments are lead with in-tune actions. So, how do you know what a “yes” and “no” feels like? Samantha suggests starting with a definite “yes” question. Then, ask a definite “no.” Begin to feel the contractions in the system. Your body knows the answer before your mind does. It takes time to reclaim a relationship you’ve lost for a long time. It’s good to create a commitment to coming home to ourselves, feelings awaken. Be gentle! A big player in reconnecting with trusting yourself is making peace and becoming comfortable with uncertainty. Especially right now, it’s abundant. Samantha says it’s about managing your variables. Finding and creating a felt sense of safety emotionally is essential. Without it, it’s challenging to go out on a limb because you don’t have that trust built in your body. She uses breathwork to work on rooting herself in stabilizing her understanding that worthiness isn’t tied to rejection or failure. Know what your essential, concrete needs are in place, you can relax. Emotionally, know that you have internal stability that will remain no matter what’s thrown at you. The path to healing is in no small part driven by your relationship with anxiety, Samantha mentions. It’s not who you are, but has a message and lesson that we can learn from. When you experience it, ask yourself what it is you need. How can you lean into the source and ask it? Learning acceptance of it, as opposed to resisting it, allows you to understand what its cause is and allows you to toggle in and out of it when there is something to learn. Samantha practices and teaches breathwork. This practice helps you unhook your mind and get into the body to access intuition. For her, breathing is the path of least resistance to that. First thing in the morning, before bed, and throughout the day, breathing is a tool to recenter. Two breaths in through the chest and belly and out through the mouth, followed by a deep breath in, holding it at the top, and releasing. Just that is enough to shift the energy and clear your mind. Tune in to go through a breathing exercise with Samantha at the end of today’s episode and try it for yourself! Ep 7373 - She Sells Radio w/ Elyse Archer

Welcome to the first episode of Elyse Archer’s podcast, She Sells Radio! Each week, join Elyse Archer, Personal Brand Strategist and Video Confidence Coach, as she shares strategies and ideas from today’s top personal brands and relationship builders on how to cut through the noise, became known in your space, and build deep, meaningful relationships with your network and audience. If you’re looking for actionable advice on how to elevate your influence, income, and impact, this is the show for you! If you’re a long-time listener, welcome back. And if this is your first time tuning in, welcome, and thank you for joining us! It’s been a short break since the last podcast episode, but Elyse is back, better than ever. In the past, Elyse was unable to discuss a major passion and area of expertise--sales. But now, there’s nothing holding her back from helping you achieve beyond what you could have ever expected. The creation of this brand, She Sells Radio, is based on a concept Elyse built with her team, Brand Builders: you’re best positioned to help your former self. While Elyse has worked with mostly male clients, she was being called to something greater, and for her, that was serving women. In the past, the way that she would achieve goals was not always in her best interest--less sleep, clients who didn’t respect her, and things generally became a detriment to her wellbeing. She didn’t believe that she deserved boundaries and had to chameleon herself into whatever the client wanted. From there, she lost her sense of self. It didn’t end professionally though, as that same mentality bled into personal relationships and eventually turned into incredibly difficult mental health challenges Elyse had to overcome. So, she started to release and remember. Release the negative aspects of those areas and remember who she is and what she is passionate about. If you are on part of that journey, Elyse says, there is so much power inside of you when you show up as you are. Stripping away layers that keep you from your truth will allow you to follow your feelings and act on intuitive emotion. As a woman, you think differently. So often in sales, there is a scarcity mindset that is incredibly linear and manufactures pain to make a sale. In all honesty, Elyse shares, that just feels gross. There is so much power in feminine instinct in this context. When we can learn to trust ourselves and do things differently, that’s where the magic happens. It’s not about being a robot and cranking out calls, it’s about embracing your whole self. You’ve had it all along, it’s just about bringing it to the table. So, how can we sell and build a business in a way that feels good? This show and the intention of She Sells Radio is to redefine sales in that way. We’re getting hard-hitting, tactical strategy in a way that feels good to you and to the person you’re serving. We’re going to identify what works and what needs to shift and change. Elyse shares three things she wishes she would’ve known or remembered as her younger self. First, trust yourself. Your instincts may not make logical sense--in fact, they probably won’t. Elyse didn’t trust her feminine instincts and cut them off from the work that she did, but now, it’s clear that those feelings are where the power lives. It is what creates the quantum jump to exactly where you need to go in less time. The key is to stay in your heart and not your head. Stop looking for approval outside of you. Second, give yourself permission to do things differently. Elyse worked her way up in a really successful business, but the thinking was very inside the box. At one point, Elyse decided to break the mold and send a video email to a potential client. It wasn’t polished by any means, but she let him know that she wanted to connect and she had that person on her mind. Wouldn’t you know it, he responded instantly. You’re being called to do things differently. It’s a good thing. The third thing Elyse would tell her younger self is this: your relationship with money is really about your relationship with yourself. The reality you create for yourself around how much love and support you deserve is reflected in how you feel about money. When you don’t feel worthy, it’ll manifest and will become a cycle. When you’re in that toxic struggle, you can’t show up for those you serve. Moving forward, you’ll be introduced to wonderful and intelligent people in the sales ecosphere through interviews, as well as some solo episodes where Elyse will share with us her own experience and expertise. If you or someone you know has crossed the 6-figure mark, wants to come on and talk about the journey of growth in sales, please feel free to reach out to Elyse at [email protected]. Elyse put together a guide for you on how to create a 6-figure morning routine. A morning routine is something Elyse attributes much of her success to, so head to elysearcher.com/morningroutine to grab that and structure your day for success.

Ep 7272 - How to Overcome Insecurity w/ Jeremy Todd

When we think about what insecurities do for us, they hold us back from showing up as the incredible people we are. Whether it’s physical insecurity or more situational like financial insecurity, it can consume us and stop us from living our life to the fullest. Our guest on the show today is Jeremy Todd. He’s a dear friend and host of the immensely successful and popular Positive Side podcast with over 10k people in his Facebook community. He’s here today to talk about overcoming insecurities and how we can turn our weaknesses into our biggest strengths. Jeremy’s personal insecurities have impacted him since a very young age. They’ve been present and still are today. Over time, though, he’s understood that his downfall and his biggest asset are one and the same. Once he realized that, people remember Jeremy because he really leveraged his insecurities. In the end, life could be so much worse. Sometimes things don’t feel like a gift in the moment, but they can become one. Jeremy talks about some tactics he used to shift his mindset surrounding insecurity. For him, it starts out in the morning with a routine filled with affirmations. He keeps positive quotes and phrases everywhere -- the bathroom mirror, the fridge, you name it -- during the start of his day. These reminders help him start on the right foot. It’s not just the start of your day though, it’s the end too. When Jeremy lays in bed to fall asleep, he goes through the alphabet, naming things he’s grateful for. Jeremy also writes small notes to himself to get him through the day. For many of us, there is a lot more alone time than we are used to. This can lead to things bubbling up that we haven’t addressed that are now coming to the surface. Jeremy shares his thoughts on how we can deal with that. Firstly, it’s okay that these feelings arise. Secondly, there is not a “correct” reaction to these thoughts. It’s going to happen the way it’s going to happen! It’s okay to be concerned, it’s not okay not to face it. They aren’t going to go away by themselves. The more comfortable we are with ourselves and bringing the dark into the light, life gets way easier. Jeremy touches on situational insecurities and how we can stay positive amidst everything going on today. Vulnerability is a massive strength. If you’re struggling with something, talk to someone about it! That allows you to get things off your chest and work through problems out loud. Relating to the current state of things, Jeremy shares his two biggest takeaways so far. First, it’s to be prepared. We never really know what is going to happen next, and having your things in order is essential. Second, and even bigger, Jeremy learned the importance of being present for everyone you’re in contact with.

Ep 7171 - Creating Confidence w/ Heather Monahan (Best of the Podcast)

So many people are grappling with self-worth and self-doubt. A lot of these feelings are creeping upon us. And yes, strategy and tactics are a part of the equation, but all of that means nothing without making sure your mindset is there too. It doesn’t matter how good your funnel is, if your inner game isn’t strong, you won’t grow. So if you’re questioning “why me?” or “why would anyone pay me to do this?” this episode is for you. Today, we’re throwing it back to Episode 2, where Elyse sat down with Heather Monahan, best-selling author of Confidence Creator. Heather’s journey wasn’t without its share of challenges. After elevating to the position of Cheif Revenue Officer at a publicly-traded company, Heather was faced with an obstacle--the CEO of the company she worked for fell ill and appointed his daughter to the role. Shortly thereafter, and after 14 years of dedication and success, Heather was fired. Instead of calling it quits, Heather looked at the hurdle as an opportunity. From there, she learned that shining her light doesn’t dim those around her, in fact, it can encourage them to shine theirs as well. Heather talks a bit about what encouraged her to make herself more visible in her online space. For her, it took someone else promoting a conversation they had for her to see the true impact video can have on your inbound leads, network growth, and ultimately, revenue. Once she was increasingly visible thanks to the consistent posting of value-filled videos, she realized the importance of leaning into your personal brand--get those professional headshots done! That being said, don’t feel as though you need to be perfect every day, all day. There is serious value in authenticity and showing up as your real self. Then, Elyse and Heather tackle the topic of haters. The truth is, if you don’t have haters, you’re doing something wrong! Haters will always appear when they see you accomplishing something they want or feel like they don’t have. Most of the time, ignoring them is the way to go. But sometimes, if it’s appropriate, calling them out is a great way to show your audience that you are not immune to hate, and it shows you that your audience stands behind what you’re doing and will support you through anything. Moving on, Heather discusses when ‘no’ is a hard no, and when to persist. She talks about being persistent and showing up in a person’s life through multiple channels. Did you get a no from someone who can say yes? If not, who else can you connect with that can help you reach your goal? From there, think about how you can be uniquely at the forefront of their minds. Heather shares with us an incredible story of how she was booked as a returning guest on the Steve Harvey Show. Finally, Heather talks about journaling and how you can effectively expand your network. Be sure to tune into to listen (or re-listen) to this wonderful conversation!

Ep 7070 - Adaptability Hacking w/ Dr. Yishai Barkhordari

Right now, more than ever we are being called to adapt. You may be sick of thinking about it by now, but we are at the beginning of a massive global shift in how we do business. If we don’t adapt now, we’re going to be left in the dust. If your mindset, your relationships, or even your brand is transforming, now is the time to leverage that. Our guest today is Dr. Yishai, a Psychologist and Executive Coach who helps leaders of multi-million dollar companies react powerfully, increase performance, and create win-win solutions. When Dr. Yishai was younger, he would react to things, events, explosively. He knew there was a better way to field changes and challenges that came into his life. This meant he needed to get a handle on how he could become more adaptable. This life-long dedication to become as adaptable as possible lead him to where he is today. If you’ve ever had a moment where you’re experiencing something and it’s uncomfortable, and you’re doing your best to not feel it -- tuning out and distracting ourselves -- then you pick up your phone and start scrolling, or you hear something you don’t like and you think about it but continue to listen, you’re ignoring what your body is telling you. Your brain is creating a reaction to draw your attention to what is important to you. At that moment, you are holding yourself back by ignoring and not addressing what you are feeling. When you pay attention to them, you can learn from them and understand how you can adapt to the situation. When you feel overwhelmed, know that the feeling is the signal, not the problem. Increasing your limit to handle that overwhelm is a skill. It takes practice and you can fumble sometimes, but the point is that we refuse to ignore and pass over a problem. The first step when you learn how to walk takes a lot of effort--in the same way, you will get better at processing and adapting to stressful situations. Dr. Yishai talks a bit about to how breakthrough that discomfort. His first suggestion is to recruit help. We get a lot more growth through a relationship than trying to tough it out alone. Getting a therapist is a great first step to prevent that harm. Having the space to be heard is incredibly helpful. Equally useful is getting feedback from trusted people around you. Investing in that support is essential. Think about ways that work for you and your life to create that space to face it head-on. Dr. Yishai shares with us an exercise we can do to practice our adaptability. There are three core components: Data, Direction, and Drive. Divide a piece of paper into these three sections. The first section is data. Without data, we have no idea what exactly needs to be changed. Put everything that needs to shift here. In the second section, put direction. Which way are you going to pivot? These can look like end results, but the important thing to notice here is understanding how you’ll get there. The third is drive. If there’s no motivation, nothing gets done. Tap into what your drive is by connecting to what is important to you. What is meaningful and necessary? Write down what you’re excited about in the future in this section.

Ep 6969 - Building a Speaker Brand in 2020 w/ Alexa Carlin, Founder of Women EmpowerX

Today on the Instant Impact podcast, Elyse is sitting down with Alexa Carlin. Alexa is a nationally-renowned public speaker and Founder & CEO of Women Empower X. Inspired by her own entrepreneurial pursuits, Alexa founded WEX with the mission to help more women pursue their passions and get to the next level in their career and life. She’s here to discuss how she overcame incredible odds to achieve so much success in such a short period of time, how we can get into the public speaking space, and how to tackle self-doubt. Alexa has always had the mission to make a difference in at least one person’s day, every day. At 17, she had already started two businesses and had her sights on the horizon when a bacteria got into her bloodstream. It started shutting her body down, and so she was put into a medically-induced coma and given a 1% chance to live. Her experience showed her the power of the mind and what is really possible. Even after she recovered and got her dream job, she was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease, something she still deals with today. During the time she was recovering, she wrote a cookbook to help her heal through mindset and food. There are two ways to look at something, Alexa says. You can look at something that happened to you or something that happened for you. Alexa’s mindset was driven by curiosity. What would happen if she overcame this challenge? What’s next? That lead her to find the courage to turn an obstacle into an opportunity. Don’t wait for your life to change. You must change your own life. If you’re always trying to overcome something, you always feel short of where you want to be. But if you shift that mindset into an opportunistic perspective, you can live in joy. Alexa learned many things years later from her experience. One was to focus on the things you do have control over. There are so many things we can’t control that we concern ourselves with. You can’t control if someone else is going to fire you, you can’t control a pandemic. You can control how you show up. There is evidence that your mindset is correlated to your health. Through happiness and mindset, you are able to internalize and visualize growth and healing. Alexa is an expert at leading and guiding leaders who are looking to become speakers and how we can build a speaking career. Right now, the world is in a complicated state. Of course, public speaking is often an in-person event. However, speaking is never going away. In a virtual climate, speakers still can book gigs and conferences. Regardless of the climate, speaking is a skill that will help you in all aspects of your life. There are different types of speakers: platform speakers and keynote speakers. Platform speakers often speak with the intention of selling something. Les Brown is a good example of a platform speaker. A keynote speaker is one who was paid to arrive at a conference, a university, or any sort of gig without trying to sell. Both can inspire, entertain, and motivate! Use this time to grow those skills and business for when the economy and world (as we knew it) comes back. Alexa talks a bit about overcoming self-doubt. It’s important to realize that confidence is necessary for growth. If you look at any role model, two things that helped them achieve success is having confidence and having energy. Networking is closely intertwined with confidence as well. You have to learn what makes you feel confident and hack the system. It’s okay to have fear but don’t let it hinder action. Finally, Alexa touches on her “It Only Takes One” philosophy. There is a pattern where one person or one experience leads to the next thing. It really only takes one decision to completely change your life. Allow that to pique your curiosity and keep wondering what would happen if you did just one more thing.

Ep 6767 - How to Own Your Worth w/ Tallia Deljou

Today’s guest on the show is positive psychology expert and transformational coach, Tallia Deljou. Rooted in her background in psychology, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and deep transformational coaching, she supports clients in connecting to and embodying their authentic selves. Tallia is an expert at showing others how we shape our identities, define who we are, and how we can optimize our experiences in order to lead a high-quality life. On this episode, she’s going to break down how we find purpose and ensure our actions are aligned with our mentality. Tallia first shares with us her story and what’s at the core of what she does. She explains what ‘a hole in the heart’ means. ‘A hole in the heart’ is a concept in the world of positive psychology that is based on the idea that a problem you have faced in your life leads you to want to solve that problem--to ‘fill’ that hole. For her, she grew up in a space where external things defined internal worth. So, she’s in the business of helping others get a solid foundation that comes from within. Tallia talks a bit about how we can release circumstances in our lives that no longer serve us. You have to be willing to be unpopular. When you live and stand in your truth, you are going to have some people who don’t approve. This is a people-pleasing conversation. A big part of being visible is understanding that you have to be ready to not satisfy every person out there. Like Michael Jordan said, why worry about missing the shot before you’ve even taken it? There’s no need to worry if what you’re putting out in the world is going to accepted if you haven’t put it out there yet! The truth is, Tallia says, is that it’s not about you. And when you aren’t visible, you aren’t doing anyone any service. If you’re hiding, you’re hurting. There are people out there who are waiting to hear what you have to say. When you’re in the mindset that it’s about you, you struggle with them. And when you do that, you disallow your audience to grow themselves. Finally, Elyse and Tallia discuss action versus aligned action. In the end, the question is this: is it a ‘should’ or a ‘must.’ If the action is a ‘should’ it can feel heavy and shallow. Whereas a ‘must’ is much more gentle. Think about how to action is related to your being? Is it serving you? Ep 6666 - Scaling to 7 Figures by the Age of 30 w/ Elizabeth Hartke

This week on the Instant Impact Podcast, Elyse is talking with Elizabeth Hartke, Business Scaling Strategist that mentors impact-driven entrepreneurs in scaling their influence, income, and time freedom without having to trade time for money or their values for their vision. After building two 7-figure businesses and having the privilege of working with hundreds and hundreds of entrepreneurs, she now runs her businesses and hosts her podcast, Scaling Up, from the rolling hills of her hobby farm with her three little kids and husband as she practices what she preaches - working hard to have the freedom to truly live! Elizabeth and Elyse talk about the gap between where people want to be and where they are now. There is a distance between being that person you envision and who you are today. Often times, Elizabeth shares, people assume that Time + Hardwork = Freedom. This just isn’t the case. We need to be much more intentional. Making sure that the vision is solid is important, but being sure that you’re building and generating a business model that supports that vision. If you want to be in a place where you can create a passive income, you need to build a system that allows for that. If we drown in the day-to-day, though, it can burn us out. Keep your eyes up just enough to keep that goal in sight. Elizabeth discusses outsourcing and scaling your team. In general, it’s important to remember that you should never stretch yourself to the point where you are putting your business at risk. She recommends taking a look at what takes up the most space in your head. Even if a task theoretically can take only a few moments, it can eat up your attention. At some point, you need to spend money to make money, and that means investing in a team to support you. Additionally, investing in things that will move the needle in your business. What are the things that are going to drive profit? Finally, Elyse and Elizabeth touch on gift-giving and the impact it has on the longterm. Then, Elizabeth shares her tips on content creation and how intentional we have to be to get genuine engagement. Tune in to find out more! Ep 6565 - How to Keep Your Mindset Strong as You Reach Your Next Level

Today’s episode is a one on one with your host, Elyse Archer. Today, Elyse is talking about how we can maintain a strong mindset as we transition into the next level of success. As we grow and manifest our goals, intrusive thoughts can creep in and hinder our progress. There are some intentional steps you can take to disallow those thoughts and continue on your upward trajectory. Elyse shares with us three key strategies to keep your outlook positive: Do the daily work. This is SO important. In a nutshell, this is your morning routine. Visualizing and affirming yourself is critical. See yourself at the level you’re trying to reach! See yourself as someone who has that influence, that recognition, that bank account. You’re already that person! Make sure the outside and the inside are aligned. Only allow positive thoughts into your mind. This is certainly easier said than done, but being the gatekeeper of your own thoughts can be incredibly liberating. Noticing negative thoughts and dismissing them prevents them from ruminating in your mind. What you focus on takes over your mentality--don’t allow that to be a bad thing. Focus only on achieving the outcome you want and be unavailable for anything else. Having a losing mindset is NOT the way to go. The losing mindset is “If it happens, great. If it doesn’t, oh well.” If you’re going to win, you have to only be available to win. We often try to protect our ego from disappointment, but that sets yourself up to fail. Until you decide an outcome is a MUST, you will continue to hit those walls.

Ep 6464 - Best Of: Diversity and Inclusion in Your Business w/ Brittany Cole

Apart of Elyse’s “Best Of” Series, the following episode is a reposting of Episode 54 - Diversity and Inclusion in Your Business w/ Brittany Cole. --- Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer. Today’s guest is Brittany Cole, a speaker, coach, and consultant that is passionate about equipping leaders to cultivate an inclusive culture where diverse talent believe they belong. In addition to her corporate achievements, Brittany founded Career Thrivers, which is a leadership development firm that partners with organizations to engage, develop and retain diverse talent through targeted leadership development. She’s here to talk with Elyse about diversity and inclusion in marketing, how we can be more intentional about being more inclusive, how to have those tough conversations if we’re not sure where to start, and she shares some tactical tips and strategies you can apply to your work today. Brittany first breaks down three cornerstones of this important conversation. Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity are often used interchangeably when in fact, they’re very different things: Diversity: This is ‘difference.’ This can mean many different things. Primary Diversity--things you can’t change (age, ethnicity, race, etc.) and Secondary Diversity (things like education). Inclusion: The intentional act of including that difference. Equity: Outcomes that aren’t determined by difference. Being diverse and being inclusive are two separate entities. It’s important to be intentional and ask how you are including difference. Brittany touches on how it starts with a culture of inclusion. Adding diversity for the sake of adding it won’t retain valuable perspectives--perspectives you would’ve otherwise left on the table. They discuss the idea of customer Avatars and how we can avoid unintentionally passing over other populations. Brittany talks about the key practice of testing, expanding, and reevaluating your avatar. Sometimes this can turn into an entirely new avatar! As you test the waters, listen to the feedback and don’t hesitate to pivot. Brittany offers insight into some of the biggest mistakes she sees in terms of messaging. The number one mistake, she says, is business owners wanting to START with visuals and copy. It’s crucial that you have a strong understanding of how you’re serving people, who you’re serving, how you measure that, and really what your brand is. Social media is a way to scale a message, not build it. Your strategy should inform the creative assets, not the other way around. As Elyse puts it, it’s like building a house without a blueprint! Finally, Brittany shares three tactical steps we can take today to implement intentional inclusion and how to have those tough conversations. Be aware. Take inventory! What does it take for you to achieve awareness of an opportunity to improve. Find people you feel don’t look like your average client. Have those conversations with a different audience! Make a commitment to take action. Implement what you’ve learned and live it! And to have those conversations, these are the steps she recommends: Address the problem and be open to talking about the opportunity you have within your organization. Lead your vulnerability. Have that emotional connection with those you’re trying to reach. LINKS Connect with Brittany at CareerThivers.com Request a free Brand Strategy Call: http://thebrandbuildersgroup.com/callelyse

Ep 6363 - How to Overcome Shyness and Social Anxiety w/ Mark Metry

In this week’s episode of the Instant Impact Podcast, Elyse is sitting down with Mark Metry. Mark’s story is an incredible one. At just 22 years old, Mark is on Amazon Prime’s TV Docuseries “The Social Movement” season 2, bringing together the top minds from around the world to solve some of the world’s biggest problems. He’s the host of a global top 100 podcast, Humans 2.0, and has been featured on TEDx, in Forbes, HuffPost, and more. He’s on the show today to talk with us about how we can overcome the fear of becoming more visible, and show up as our honest, whole self every day. Mark’s journey is what got him to where he is today. He went from having severe social anxiety to a worldwide speaker. At one point, Mark was at over 200lbs and suffering from countless chronic illnesses. On top of that, he was struggling with mental illness and flirting with suicide. Today, Mark is a happy, healthy, fulfilled individual on the path to mastery. He talks about how social anxiety can stem from a traumatic experience that occurs during childhood. There are moments in our lives that influence our development and send our nervous system into a feedback loop with our body, preventing us from reaching our utmost potential. From the outside, it can seem like a simple fix, but in reality, it’s much more difficult. Sometimes, people will try to be themselves by leaning on vices to stifle the truth. When those are taken away, the stillness of the world can creep in and bring to light what is really wrong. The first step towards growth is taking a step back and identifying the deeper issues. Stripping away the vices that stifle pain prevents us from being the self we’re meant to be. Then, replacing the negative coping mechanisms with positive ones can allow you to escape in a healthy way. As we can see from his experience, Mark touches on the fact that monetary success doesn’t equal fulfillment. When Mark was 15 he earned six figures. But he knew that despite his financial safety, he didn’t feel like his success was his. Now, he feels as though success manifests through self-improvement and bringing value to those around him. In 30 years, he says, he wants to be known for helping solve this massive problem that is affecting so many people in today’s world--mental illness. In the end, our mortality can offer a valuable perspective when we experience social anxiety. Death, as Steve Jobs put it, is life’s greatest invention. That understanding that your time here is limited, and to live without regret, is something that can spark something deep inside you. Ep 6262 - All Things Branding: My Interview on the Freedom Slay Podcast

On today’s episode of the Instant Impact podcast, we’re turning the tables. This week, Elyse is sharing with us an episode of the Freedom Slay podcast where she was recently a guest. The Freedom Slay podcast is hosted by Gaynete Jones. Gaynete is an all-around incredible example of how to build an influential brand. She’s a best-selling author, a keynote speaker, and a millennial mentor. On her show, Elyse chats about all things branding. Right now, so many of you are focused on digitizing your brand and rising above the noise. Making your mark in the world is an important endeavor, and Elyse shares with us some powerful ideas that can help you do just that. In the past, it appeared as though Elyse had it all--the job, the house, the money, everything. But in reality, she was struggling with self-image and self-worth, dealing with an eating disorder, living in an unhealthy marriage, and questioning who she truly was. At that point, she left an 8-figure business to join Brand Builders and bring value to those around her by helping them find and create their personal brand. It really does make sense--becoming more visible can elevate your business and increasing the visibility of your brand can boost incoming leads and drive revenue in a very real way. However, becoming more visible can come with insecurities. For many people, questions like “why me?” or “who would want to hear what I have to say?” come into play. The truth is, you have a unique backstory and there are people who need to hear what you have to say, and they need to hear it from you. Elyse shares the number one thing she notices her clients struggling with early on. She says a lack of clarity can present a big challenge for entrepreneurs trying to get off the ground and become more visible. Either there is a vision and they’re not sure how to get there, or they have a journey and they’re not sure how to turn it into a cohesive brand. Getting that clarity is an art and a science. There is a method, but who you are is what matters. One of the first things Elyse talks about is thinking about how you’ll monetize your brand. Knowing what your revenue model is will allow you to build a brand that doesn’t leave you “Instagram rich but dollar poor.” Knowing what your audience is asking for and who your ideal client makes it much easier to sell your service. Often times it was you a few years ago. Take a look at what your target demographic needs and think about how you can provide them value. Elyse fills us in on some common misconceptions with personal branding. In a nutshell, it’s not just being famous. There’s a massive factor--the impact you make. You don’t have to be “that guy” to have a brand! You only need to be yourself and the rest will follow. Another misconception is the idea that trying to become visible in many different ways will increase your chances of being seen. In reality, being hyperfocused on one area of expertise will have the power you need to rise to the top of your class. Additionally, many people care far too much about what other people think of them! There is a fear of judgment that gets in the way of a lot of growth. People have always and will always judge you. The difference is that you can recognize that you will NOT die if someone judges you. Embrace it! Elyse’s tips for building your business very simply come down to posting videos on LinkedIn. It has the best organic reach without paying for ads. Twice a week, Elyse posts videos. What happens is people reach out to her instead of her needing to reach out to them. This leads to a conversation that can be converted. It doesn’t have to be complicated to work well. One more thing--don’t watch your own videos before you publish them! Things get better with time.

Ep 6161 - How to Get Booked as a Podcast Guest w/ Kelly Glover

On this week’s episode of the Instant Impact podcast, Elyse is sitting down with Kelly Glover. Kelly specializes in booking podcast tours for entrepreneurs. She has a 19-year track record working in media, which includes starting in podcasting in 2007 and hosting her own syndicated radio show. She’s here today to share how you can use podcast guesting as a vehicle to strengthen your personal brand and gain credibility, authority, and influence. There is a lot of confusion surrounding how we can stand out from the crowd when we’re trying to get booked on a podcast. Kelly’s strategy is grounded in expectation versus reality. Sometimes people are looking to land themselves in a top-level podcast or bust. Being self-aware of the level you’re at is a good place to keep that in check. It doesn’t mean you won’t be on one of those shows at some point, but getting there is a process! Elyse adds that it’s crucial that you think about what shows you’re going on from a lead-generating perspective. You won’t get in front of people that make sense for your industry. By leveraging the influence of the host, you are able to establish yourself in a niche market as an expert. With podcasts, though, it’s important to remember that there aren’t analytics that can tell you a traditional ROI. Know that podcasts turn into social media posts, they turn into conversations, and they turn into thoughts and ideas--sometimes it can be hardly to measure directly. There are a few things to think about and give attention to before you decide to pitch yourself as a guest. The first thing you need, Kelly says, is a one-pager that has your headshot, name, bio, talking point, sample questions, and a way for them to contact you. This won’t get you booked off the bat, but it is a great way to build credibility. On top of that, your pitch needs to be on point. Know who the audience, listen to the show itself, know the background of the show, and be ready to offer something to listeners. Making the host’s job easier is the best way to get your foot in the door. Being strategic about your pitch is absolutely essential. As a host, Elyse talks about the generic-nature of some pitches she sees. There are some pitches that aren’t on-brand with the show, and it demonstrates that they aren’t familiar with the content of it. Kelly recommends emailing yourself to see how it looks in your inbox. This is a great way to shift your perspective to that of the person you’re pitching to. The subject of your email is very valuable real estate. Taking the time to get it right is worth doing. Getting to the point in the first few lines of your email is the next place to look. Bring something new! Let’s say we do the work and we get on the show we want. Some best practices Kelly uses: Practice in private before you go public Have a cheat-sheet open to reference--questions, points, etc. Make sure you have the tech--headphones and a microphone are essential Have a conversation with the host beforehand--ask questions to clarify! Listen to an episode Pay attention to what the audience wants. Incorporate topics you’re asked about. LINKS kellyglover.com

Ep 6060 - From $0 to $230K in Six Months w/ Allyson Chavez

Elyse’s guest this week on the podcast is someone who has experienced an incredible personal journey and made momentous changes in her life. Her name is Allyson Chavez. She went from $150,000 in debt and 45lbs overweight to making over 200,000 a year and enjoying life. Now, Allyson is a prosperity transformation coach and teaches others how to manage their thoughts and energy so they can get out of their own way, consistently hit their targets, and love their lives as they redesign their reality. Today, Allyson is sitting down to talk with us about the tactical mindset she’s adopted, how she thinks about money, and how she did it all in such a short period of time. She set goals that seemed impossible and achieved them. Then, she applied those tactics to her business and to her body. Her income exploded exponentially once she learned how money actually worked. To change her mindset, Allyson discusses understanding the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. The conscious mind is that voice that you hear that tells you to work towards your results. The unconscious mind works towards manifesting your beliefs. Between results and beliefs, your beliefs will always win out. Additionally, understand that what you want already exists in some dimension. All you need to do is pull it from the idea reality to the physical realm. As far as money goes, many people make it God. The truth is, money is a channel, not a source. It’s here to bless your life. Money has functions--they are to help you expand and uplift your life--not bring security. There is nothing expansive about being comfortable! Allyson shares one of her universal laws: the law of compensation. This law says equal returns must be given for what is given forth. Basically, whatever you give out, you will get back. In terms of money, when you give value to the marketplace, in order for the universe to bring balance, you will be given value. When you are in service, it is repaid! She touches on what we can do if it doesn’t feel like it’s coming naturally, and how we can make quantum leaps in our mindset as far as working hard goes. Success doesn’t have to be nose to the grindstone! For example, when Allyson got to the point where everything fell apart, she made money the bad guy. It only brought anxiety--if that’s what money means, who would want anything to do with it? When she made the choice that struggle wasn’t necessary, things shifted in a major way. You never see a flower forcing itself to grow! Not being available for the struggle is an essential step. From there, you can acknowledge and appreciate everything that is working for you! Hair ties that don’t break, a good water bottle, you name it. Noticing good brings good. LINKS Allysonchavez.com prosperityapproach.com/bundle

Ep 5959 - SEO: What Matters in 2020 w/ Erica Glessing

SEO, or search engine optimization, may not be at the forefront of your business mindset, but it can absolutely be a tool that can transform the way you generate leads and how visible you are online. Today on the podcast, Elyse is sitting down with Erica Glessing. Erica is a #1 bestselling author 33X over, and built her company, SEO for Lead Gen, out of the desire to help entrepreneurs and small businesses be seen for their work in the world. She grew her podcasts to more than 100,000 downloads in 2020 alone and continues to build search engine optimization strategies for companies and influencers globally. Erica is here today to share some tactical advice you can use to optimize your website to get more leads. In a nutshell, Search Engine Optimization is aligning your messages with what words people use most frequently to find you. There is a sweet spot between what you’re already saying and what is being searched for that can boost your visibility and help you be found more efficiently. A part of SEO is something called metadata. Metadata can be described as the behind the scenes aspect of SEO. On a website, every photograph has a name (think ‘200 x 200 man-lifting-weights’). By simply giving Google a taste of your brand and location in the name of your website’s images (‘san-jose-gym-fitness-man-lifting-weights’), you boost your chances of being found via a search engine. Similarly, page names and URLs are SEO opportunities. Erica shares with us some of her favorite tools we can use to help us get an idea of what language people are using when they’re searching on Google for a service you provide. The first tool is one that may take you by surprise--simply putting in your question into the Google search bar and letting it autofill can tell you the top 5 things people are typing in. Another tool is AskThePublic.com. It’s a list of popular questions in a particular genre. The first thing someone should do if they’re looking to increase their search engine visibility is checking the free website Ubersuggest.com. It will give you a brief self-assessment that will let you know where you’re at. Erica discusses becoming more visible for people with commercial intent, how to find them, and more! Ep 5858 - Leading Through Uncertain Times w/ Tameika Issac Devine

There’s no denying that we are experiencing something that none of us have ever gone through. Things are changing at breakneck speeds, and it seems like the situation evolves every few hours. It can be difficult to navigate through the whirlwind, especially if you are running a business or leading a team. How do you stay strong for them and make sure they’re well taken care of while still paying attention to your own needs. Today, on the Instant Impact podcast with Elyse Archer, Elyse is sitting down with Tameika Devine, an expert at leading through uncertainty. Tameika is an elected official, attorney, entrepreneur, mother, and wife. Right now, she’s leading not only her company and family but her entire community. Tameika starts us off by sharing some of the biggest mistakes she sees leaders making as they begin to lead through change. For her, it’s essential that you are honest about how much is unknown. Many leaders will feel as though they need ever answer--this isn’t the case! The key is being empathetic of every individual’s situation. Tameika offers us her biggest tips for leaders right now: 1. Communicate as much as possible to everyone--your team, clients, community, and family. We’re in this together. And 2. Be accessible and stay connected! So many people are feeling disconnected from those closest to them. Share your experiences with your team! Tameika keeps her mindset strong amidst everything we’re hearing by staying true to her faith. On top of that, she makes time to be intentional with everything that she does. Being present in the moment is essential! Above everything else, Tameika is a mother. Her advice for parents who are trying to teach, parent, and entertain children is to give yourself grace. It’s so easy to be hard on yourself, but we are all doing our best! Additionally, keeping to a schedule prevents you from getting too lax with your tasks. Having three things that you need to accomplish every day reminds you that you are still doing the work! Finally, Tameika shares with us some of the blessings she sees coming out of this situation--tune in, there are so many! LINKS Adevinelife.com @tameikadevine

Ep 5757 - The Audacity To Be Queen w/ Gina DeVee

This week on the Instant Impact podcast with Elyse Archer, we’re hearing from the incredible Gina DeVee. Gina is a published author, accomplished speaker, podcast host, business coach, and self-made multimillionaire entrepreneur. She has dedicated her career to helping women connect spiritually, start profitable businesses, create wealth from a feminine perspective, and become highly visible so they can make a global impact. Gina’s on the show today to talk to us about her vibrant story, wealth consciousness, pivoting in a time of crisis, and how she was able to publish a book (and experience massive success) during a global pandemic. Elyse and Gina chat about what sparked Gina’s journey to where she is today. After some time working as a psychotherapist, something she got her degrees in, Gina quickly realized that she became an entrepreneur. She was dealing with the day-to-day struggles of running a business--finding clients, managing budgets, you name it. In reality, she just wanted to help people. Eventually, she made the choice that she wasn’t going to be okay with the struggle. She woke up and was done with “living within her means.” So, she moved to California and invested in herself to become a life coach. Wealth consciousness, Gina says, is the psychology of wealth. When you think about consciousness, it’s an awareness and higher thinking of a subject. We’re taught that we need to save endlessly. There and money “rules” that is imposed on people as if it were a code of ethics. But why? Says who? There are plenty of ways to do ANYTHING--why not wealth? Wealth consciousness is understanding there is no lack of money or a lack of clients in the world. There are times to scale back, but there are also opportunities to simply make more money. For many, this is a time of financial uncertainty. From Gina’s perspective, there will always be businesses that crumble, those who adapt, and new businesses that arise as the situation evolves. In every economic downfall, there are industries that are formed. It’s about pivoting and finding success where it lives. Gina pivoted by launch her first book, The Audacity to be Queen. Her mindset remains the same as it did while she was writing--it’s not happening to you, it’s happening for you. She was presented with a choice when she got the news that all her events would be canceled for the foreseeable future. She could allow the sadness to overwhelm her, or, she could take the changes in stride. She started thinking about how she could do a book tour remotely--finding creative ways to make things work is the way to go. Gina’s ability to maintain this mindset isn’t something that happens overnight. Much like a muscle, you need to prepare your mind to be nimble. Being a personal development junkie is a far reach from real growth. It comes from within! When you’re committed to going after the highest form of yourself, it slows down the triggers for negative mindsets. You can see the thoughts and manage them in a healthy way. The Audacity to be Queen is a culmination of Gina’s 20 years of genuine growth. It’s part memoir part development part big thinking. She wrote it because she wanted to express what it looks like for women to give themselves permission to live our best lives. The age of Queen is now! For any woman who is seeking something greater in her life, something that she has been diminished for in the past, this book is here for you. Ep 5555 - How To Create Engaging Content in a Boring Industry w/ Daniel Allison

Welcome back to another episode of the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! There are so many people today who classify themselves as being in a “boring” industry. They see all these brands with exciting messaging and social media posts and video content and they wonder how in the world they would create such engaging, meaningful content. Today’s guest has done just that. Daniel Allison is a commercial HVAC relationship manager and has figured out a way to generate seriously engaging content. He is on the show today to talk about how you can find something that will grab your audience’s attention, some of the most important elements of creating videos that engage, how we can find out if the content is working, and he offers some of his tips on how to get started. Daniel started using video as a way to connect with his clients--either to follow up on a quote, to touch base, or just to say hi. He transitioned over to LinkedIn to test his results and found that his strategy of using 1-minute videos was well received by his audience. He tries to really condense the points he wants to make and emphasizes the feeling more so than the words he’s saying. He condenses his thoughts by folding them in with the energy he wants to communicate. He wants to let them feel how he’s feeling. Daniel’s process of finding content in a traditionally “boring” industry starts with just getting the attention of his audience so he could talk about what he does. That way, when the situation comes up where he would be helpful, he is the first person that comes to their mind. So, how do you know if it’s working? It can be hard to track, but there are certainly indicators. Daniel focuses on views. If you’re getting views, then you’re winning. If they are watching, the intent is paying off. It comes back to attention! Right now, LinkedIn Videos is a great way to get views and make impressions on your audience. Results though, have to be anecdotal. Knowing your consistency and longevity is solid will going further than being ROI focused. Daniel shares his tips for getting started. He says to start with your “talent stat.” You have a unique combination of skills that can manifest in what you’re good at. Some people are good at comedy and humorous videos while some others are better suited for motivational content. Think about what you’re known for and how you can communicate that to your audience so they know who you are. Ep 5454 - Diversity & Inclusion in Your Business w/ Brittany Cole

Ep 5353 - Bringing More Soul Into Your Business w/ Regina Lawrence

Welcome back to another episode of the Instant Impact podcast with Elyse Archer. Today’s guest is Regina Lawrence, attorney and law professor turned speaker, teacher, and coach. Regina specializes in helping people find peace and purpose in their lives and businesses through soulful planning and gaining clarity. Regina’s approach to coaching marries her background in legal analysis, spirituality, mindset coaching, holistic nutrition, and neuroscience to create an experience that assists her clients to go inside of themselves and make massive, life-long shifts. She’s on the show today to talk about allowing ourselves to take that next step and evolve into whatever the next phase of our life is. She shares her insight on bringing the soul into your day-to-day business when you’re poised for a reposition. Regina’s story is an incredible journey of transformation. Coming from a childhood of trauma, she propelled herself through school. Eventually though, when she seemed to have finally achieved what she was after, she had a moment when she knew she needed to change her life. She recommends some tactical practices for those who are in a place where they want to reinvent themselves and move into the next phase of their personal or professional lives. She discusses carving out “white space” through the use of affirmations and mantras. Looking at an area of your life and changing the narrative can help create that room. Through finding evidence of the affirmation, you can attach energy to the sentences you use. Elyse and Regina discuss some of the biggest things to remember when you’re in a state of transition and transformation. Giving yourself permission, Regina says, is the first step in doing what you were called to do. You are allowed to do this. You are allowed to do it any way you want. Additionally, start to ask the questions that you were never asked. What did your soul come here to do? How can you live a life that feels good? It doesn’t have to be sudden. Easing into it deliberately can lead to a complete 180 pivot. Regina talks about running a soulful business. She believes that our soul was put here for an absolute reason. There are very distinct purposes for us to do. Your business should be in line with your calling. It should nurture what you were meant to do and what you want to do. Ep 5252 - Three Things My Pregnancy Journey Has Taught Me About Success in Business and Life

Thanks for tuning into the Instant Impact podcast with Elyse Archer! It’s the one-year anniversary of the podcast. Elyse shares with us her personal journey with pregnancy and the transferable experiences in life and business. There’s a lot to be gained from this episodes, as Elyse touches on important matters such as improved health, increased efficiency and enjoying the process! Don’t let the title deceive you, this episode offers up value to everyone, not just those expecting. Elyse’s life was nothing short of a whirlwind a year ago. She had recently found out she was pregnant, and immediately she shifted gears in both her personal and professional spaces to ensure she would be the best parent she could. This meant adjusting how her business operated, investing in herself through coaching, and even purchasing her dream home. Seven weeks in, she and her husband were struck with the terrible news of a miscarriage. From there, Elyse found her way back to being herself. Flash forward to the day before Thanksgiving this year, and Elyse and her husband were blessed with the good news of pregnancy. Now in her 17th week, she shares three things her pregnancy has taught her and how we can utilize them in multiple aspects of our lives. First, Elyse discusses listening to your body and trusting it and your instincts. Your body, she says, will naturally guide your decisions in personal and professional endeavours. Just like the seasons, there are times to be bright and vibrant, and other times to evaluate and assess and heal. Her tips to enforce this mentality include having a morning ritual. Yes, you’ve probably heard it a million times, but creating space to receive answers from your body, your spirit, or a higher power is crucial to respecting what your body is telling you. Elyse’s second practice she learned was the importance of efficiency. When you’re pregnant, you often may feel unwell, leaving you with fewer and fewer hours in the day to get done what you need to do. To combat this, leaning on efficiency will streamline your work so you can reach your goals in the smoothest way possible. To help this, Elyse suggests delegating. Finding a single thing every month to go on the “can someone else do this” list can help free up your time and mental space to do what needs to get done. Additionally, getting hyper clear on your priorities can help you prevent feeling overwhelmed or underprepared. Finally, Elyse’s third lesson is to enjoy the process. There will always be low points in your life, and they can shape you into a different person. But, everything is happening for you, not to you. The universe is working for your greater good. The more we can set an intention and go after it with everything you have and still being able to accept and outcome, the more we can grow. Trusting the journey is what it’s all about. Ep 5151 - How To Grow Your Business Using LinkedIn w/ Scott Aaron

This week’s guest is the incredible Scott Aaron. He’s an internationally acclaimed and award-winning network marketer, business coach, author, speaker, and podcaster. His specialty is being the go-to expert when it comes to converting traffic, establishing connections, creating residual income and using LinkedIn. Today, he shares his incredible journey and his top strategies and tips for network marketing. Scott’s story is one of massive highs and crushing lows. He shares his story about how he became a millionaire at just 20 years old, and how he dealt with an overwhelming amount of challenges. From making millions to losing millions; dealing with his father’s incarceration, and being divorced twice, Scott was able to reframe his mindset and start fresh. He knew he wanted to do more, and had more than 65,000 hours of one on one client meeting time, so he took his next step into network marketing. Elyse and Scott discuss his transition in network marketing, and how he grew his success through LinkedIn. He touches on how he needed to pivot in order to have more real, meaningful conversations with those in his space. He shifted his perspective from himself to those who he wanted to serve. In just a few months, he had 30-40 calls every week. The connections he was making helped build his business to the place it is today. He identified a problem a large number of people had and offered a solution--success followed. Scott dives into the top strategies he teaches in 2020 to connect and build a network on LinkedIn. He reminds us to build our content without the “likes” or “views” in mind. Act, he says, as if you don’t know who is seeing your posts. As long as people are engaged in any form, you are making an impact. Trying to “figure out” the algorithm is a losing battle--it will always change and will continue to change--there’s nothing we can do about it! He moves on to four things he teaches his clients: First, he suggests including keywords on your LinkedIn profile--otherwise, you’re invisible on the platform. Making sure every section is filled out with pertinent language will make you show up in searches. This includes the recommendation section--written recommendations can give you a massive boost in visibility. He offers his strategy of exporting your list of connections and highlighting those who would vouch for you, and simply asking for a brief recommendation. His second tip is the actual building of your network. It’s important to identify the avatar you want to connect with, so writing down one or two professions or job titles that are most suited for what you provide. Then, be sure that they are clearly represented in your profile. Third, he talks about the importance of getting clear on your messaging. Word vomit doesn’t build a network. There’s a process to messaging someone--waiting a day or two to message someone speaks volumes. First, state their name. Then, inform the person why you reached out without an ask. Lastly, finish with a call to action. You have to ask to get. His fourth and final strategy regarding LinkedIn networking is based on content. Right now, visibility has never been higher. You have to be the champion of great content. Doing things that others aren’t is what is going to build your network. One form of content every day is a great way to swim upstream. The more than you give, the more you’ll get back. Articles, videos, quotes, anything at any time of day, will move the needle in your favor. LINKS @scottaaron Scott Aaron on LinkedIn Scottaaron.net

Ep 5050 - The Business of Being Yourself; My Interview w/ Alberto Sardinas

Thanks for tuning into the Instant Impact podcast! To celebrate the 50th episode of the podcast, this week’s conversation is something a little different. This week, Elyse is a guest on the Passion Accomplished podcast with Alberto Sardiñas. She’s talking about what she knows best--being yourself. It’s a fact--what makes you uncopyable is being yourself. As a listener, you might already be familiar with Elyse’s story. Her incredible career journey from selling Yellowpages to making multiple six-figures at a corporate job. She had the house, the car, and everything she thought she needed to feel accomplished. In reality, Elyse battled her own demons. At 27, she discovered a podcast hosted by Rory Vaden. At that point, she began to shift her focus to mindset and growth. Personal development became a priority. And so she left her corporate job to pursue sales coaching. The rest is history. After some unexpected changes in her business and 30 days of intense stress, Elyse made the incredibly difficult position to pivot into another pursuit. She was left feeling lost, worried, and in a way, confused. She knew she needed to do something different. And with the unexpected death of a close friend, Elyse was offered the opportunity to reevaluate what she wanted to be about. Her answer? Generosity. To others and to herself. And now she has built her personal brand in helping others find theirs. Through generosity, she helps others create greater impact in less time and become more visible through the power of that same selflessness. Elyse talks about how listening to your gut, despite it sometimes feeling illogical, can lead to truly amazing things. You’ve been giving this feeling for a reason--it’s no mistake. There are no leaps without fear when you’re playing big. Take action every single day towards that goal. Often, she says, the path isn’t revealed until you take that next step. Then, Elyse shares her tips on building reputation in a new professional space. She teaches the reputation formula: results x reach = reputation. She looks at what you do really well, what you’ve accomplished, what you can teach, and multiplies it by your reach--those who KNOW all of this. When it comes to your results, it is a way to craft what problem you solve, what your uniqueness is, and how you can help them. The reach is your audience. They can be local or online. Both elements are equally important! Elyse breaks down Sheehan’s Wall, a concept the team at Brandbuilders developed that says in every industry, there is an invisible wall. On one side, there are those who are known. On the other side, those who are not. Many people are trying to break through to get to the known side. Many times, to get to the other side, they need to be clear on “why me?” among many other questions. Those who get hyper-focused on that “one thing” for that “one person” and they go all-in. Once you’re on the other side, it doesn’t matter what you say, people will listen because YOU are YOU. To get started, Elyse is a big fan of being as specific as you can. Break through the wall there and move on to your next challenge! It may take less or more time, but it’ll take less time regardless--if you’re focused. Finally, Elyse gives a sneak peek into the Brand DNA Helix, a series of six questions that can help you get clear on what your uniqueness is: What problem do you solve? What are you passionate about? What results do you have? What are you an expert in? What would people buy from you? What business do you want to be in? Somewhere between those questions is your business model. Ep 4949 - How to Multiply Your Money w/ Helen Ngo

Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today’s guest is Helen Ngo. She’s Elyse’s personal financial advisor and founder of Capital Benchmarks in Atlanta. She’s on the show today to talk about everything money, and empower listeners to be more comfortable with and around their finances. Elyse and Helen discuss some steps we can take to get our finances, both personal and professional, in order. The first step, she says, is creating a checklist. After organizing all your accounts and all your statements, keeping track of your assets and liabilities, you can see what you have and don’t have. It removes a lot of the fear and avoidance that comes with finances. They chat about how helpful and useful bringing in a third party can be when trying to communicate about money with a partner. Helen mentions that it can help open a line of dialogue that is not only respectful but helpful and useful to both parties. She talks about the dynamics of couples and who has the higher income (and how she snaps that off). Helen breaks down some of the biggest mistakes people make with their finances. The most prominent one she sees is simply not understanding how taxes and accounting works. Often, she says, people don’t think they need to hire someone to help them with their taxes. Inefficiency can lead to not writing off what can be written off, and sometimes writing stuff off that shouldn’t be! Elyse and Helen agree that delegation is the way to go, but it’s important to stay informed. Helen then dives into some of her favorite tech and tools she uses when helping her clients manage their finances. She reminds us that the tool is only as good as the person entering the data. The tech can be wonderful, but if you’re entering incorrect data, it’s no use. Her favorites, though, include Excel and platforms that aggregate information. Helen talks shop about fees, commissions, and keeping them all in line. She lets us know that we shouldn’t be afraid of asking for help. Ep 4748 - How to Create an Impactful Message for your Brand w/ Gideon Shalwick

Thanks for turning into the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today’s guest is only the second repeat visitor since the start of the show. His name is Gideon Shelwick, an Australia-based serial entrepreneur who has been visible in the online space through video since 2006. He’s created multiple successful businesses, most recently Splasheo, a video captioning service that’s used by some of the biggest names out there. He’s here today to talk with Elyse about creating an impactful message for your brand. Gideon has developed a simple, 1-page framework for creating a compelling, effective message for your brand. The canvas he’s created helps solve a number of problems surrounding messaging in your video content—not producing a message that resonates with your audience, a lack of conversation to action (things such as likes, shares, comments, and even signups and sales), and creating engageable content. This scaffolding helps you solidify a core message from which everything else flows. It can be translated into any sort of content you put out—it becomes ‘what you’re about’ all on 1 page. The structure of Gideon’s canvas aims to land on that core message. There are two large sections of his framework. One section represents where your audience is, and the other represents where they want to be. Between the two, is the Journey--the way you move the Avatar (the person you want to connect with) to Hero. You, the mentor, facilitate that growth and have a section as well. Your message, Gideon says, is the “boat” that carries your audience on their journey from “Pain Island” to “Pleasure Island.” The underlying drive is you. Your mission is what will be the force that leads you to your achievements. You are the piece of the puzzle that pulls it all together. He goes on to break down the subsections of his framework and describes a shortcut for finding your “Avatar.” He explains that this person is your target client, there is a good chance there are others like them. It’s not 20, 50, 100 people that you’re trying to speak to--it’s one person. He breaks down their problem, pain, and the antagonist--the active cause of all the trouble. Next, the breaks down the “Hero” side of his canvas. This is where your Avatar has gone through their transitional growth. He asks “what has been the transformation?” He goes on to talk about the reward or outcome, the benefits, and the mentor. All these sections share a common theme--feelings. It is about the developments your Hero makes emotionally. Gideon talks about the journey. It’s simple--it’s just the steps you will have your Avatar make to transform into a Hero. This is a custom branded solution or methodology. This is meant to help you stand out in your space. The most challenging part of this framework is finding and building your message. It will probably come to you naturally after having done all the other work, Gideon says. This can (and should) be a brief, concise, effective phrase that informs your audience what you’re about. Finally, he discusses the Mentor’s Mission. This is everything you’ve built your business on. You have a mission! This is your place to write it into practice. Ep 4747 - Life Lessons from a Near Death Experience w/ Danny Bader

Welcome to another episode of the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today’s guest is Danny Bader, keynote speaker, author, coach, and incredible individual. He’s one of the very few people who have actually died and returned to life. For eight minutes, Danny was dead. He’s here to share his journey and how this experience influences what he teaches and his role as a facilitator. Danny shares his set of five principles, called jckrbbt that he developed to help uplevel his own life, and those around him. Develop Vision. This is the ability to imagine what needs to be real. This skill is incredibly useful when you are feeling stuck or lost, and need a direction to go. Be still. This is the journaling, the meditation, the breathing exercises. They create space for thought and emotion without immediate action. Know thyself. Your talents, your strengths, your purpose, and the things you value are all essential things to learn about yourself. Knowing your beliefs about your past, present, and future is vital. Seek Support. This one speaks for itself. Sometimes we go through difficult times. It’s important to allow yourself to be supported by friends, family, professionals, anyone you connect with. Evolve. The willingness to accept growth and change. This principle is simply repeating the previous four principles. There is a reservoir of resilience within all of us. Danny and Elyse discuss the difference between living and how we can tap into these principles to cultivate our intentional, meaningful mindfulness. Ep 4646 - How To Be a Truly Great Leader w/ Scott Miller

Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today’s episode is a little bit longer—and for good reason. Elyse is sitting down with a leadership powerhouse. His name is Scott Miller, and he’s the Executive Vice President of Thought Leadership and the Chief Marketing Officer at FranklinCovey. He’s a best selling author of multiple books and all-around guru when it comes to leading a team. Scott and Elyse are sitting down to break down 6 critical practices for leading a team, including what it means to be a leader and how we can motivate, mobilize, and create a culture of success within your team. Scott and Elyse first dive into today’s topic by talking about how we find ourselves in leadership positions. Often times, it’s accidental. In fact, Scott mentions that some people shouldn’t be leaders. Not everyone is always prepared for what comes with the role—things like confrontation and confidence can be hindrances preventing you from showing up as the best leader you can. But, he says, there are 6 key practices that can help you lead your team. The first practice, Scott explains, is developing a leader’s mindset. This means assessing paradigms that exist within your team and transitioning, empowering, or phasing out practices or behaviors that aren’t conducive to your team’s success. It also means asking yourself important questions like ‘What kind of leader does my team need? Secondly, holding 1 on 1 meetings is critical to keeping your team feeling heard and understood—to massively important aspects tied to happiness. Think about how you can become a better listener, how to get your team engaged, and how you can adapt when leading a virtual team. The third practice is setting your team up for success. This may seem obvious, but it’s not as simple as it may seem. Scott and Elyse discuss working in the system vs working on the system, the different types of leaders, and the framework for delegating tasks effectively. Fourth on the list of practices is creating a culture of feedback. Feedback can exist on two ends of the spectrum—too much courage and too much conversation. The key is finding a balance! Elyse and Scott also talk about reinforcing feedback and the stats that come with it: high performing teams are 6x as likely to provide reinforcing feedback than average teams. And low performing teams share nearly 2x as much negative feedback as average-performing teams. Fifth is leading your team through change. Change is inevitable. What we can do as leaders is prepare, guide, and support our team as it happens. Scott breaks down the best ways to do this and what it means when we do so. Meet people where they are. Finally, managing your time and energy is absolutely essential for the betterment of your team. If you can’t show up for yourself, how can you for your team? You can’t pour from an empty cup! Cultivating relationships with people can help you scale your business and make quantum leaps in revenue. Jon splits his partnering strategy into three categories: acquiring referral partners, maintaining strong ties with those partners, and growing the relationship you’ve built. This episode is worth taking notes on, here’s a sneak peek of the things Jon breaks down: Acquiring Referral Partners: — Look for the white-space! Ep 3434 - How High Achievers can be more Courageous, Successful and Happy w/ Tracy Oswald

Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! In today’s episode, Elyse goes deep with Tracy Oswald, the high achiever’s coach. Tracy is an expert in working with high-level workers in helping them tap into their true selves so they can make a more meaningful impact in the space they occupy. Tracy and Elyse chat about a range of topics, from some challenges high achievers face and some actionable tips on how to overcome them, to feelings, mental shifts, and even immersive theater. Tracy shares with Elyse her reasons for getting into coaching, which she says comes from a place of her own growth. She uses her own experience finding her inner self through immersive theater. As she tells her story, she dives into some challenges high achievers face. A primary one being the high achiever’s threshold. This Threshold is the point at which we think we can get to the next level through hard work and hard work alone. We work harder for more hours and end up over-scheduling, and by doing so, we create a resistance to what it is we want to achieve. We want to come from a place of appreciation and a mindset of success, not from forcing the work out of us. Tracy goes on to share some tips on how to overcome this, and the mental shifts we can make to get ourselves back on track. The two of them chat more about impact versus impact that matters. It’s easy to make an impact, but making an impact that matters is a different story. Finally, Elyse and Tracy discuss getting to a place of alignment. This place is where your efforts don’t feel like grinding. Often times, people are certain that you cannot be successful and have fun along the way. They conclude that in fact, when you put the fun first, success comes naturally. LINKS *Sleep No More* - https://mckittrickhotel.com/sleep-no-more/ Tracyoswald.com Book a free discovery call! Ep 3333 - Leveraging Intuition in Business w/ Sunil Godse

Thanks for tuning in to another episode of the Instant Impact Podcast with your host, Elyse Archer. Today, Elyse sits down with Sunil Godse. Sunil grew a number of startups to a combined $20 million by building trusting connections before moving on to help accelerate sales for other companies. His recent Intuitionology project combines over 10,000 hours of research and over 1,000 interviews to produce a set of online courses that teaches people how to make the right decision in any situation by trusting their intuition. Elyse and Sunil break down what an intuitive signal can manifest as. The first step, he says, is identifying how our intuition behaves. For some, it can manifest physically, like a gut feeling. For others, it can be noticing omens in their day-to-day lives. It’s about finding what it looks like for you and educating yourself on trusting it. Whatever it is, though, it will probably be subtle, which can often mean they go ignored. Occasionally, we encounter hurdles, both emotionally and professionally. What’s important is recognizing what the source of the hurdle is and not allowing it to psych us out of the right decision. It’s key when starting a business to be absolutely clear on why you’re going down this path. Paying attention to “flow” is vital to leveraging your intuition when in the professional sphere. Ep 3232 - What You Need to Know About the Future of Digital Citizenship w/ Tracy Levine

Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today, Elyse sits down with Tracy Levine, Chairman and CEO of Advantage Talent Inc. Tracy provides Data-Driven Human Capital Management and Professional Branding. As a keynote speaker and consultant, her insights have been featured on FOX, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Associated Press, Reuters, and Forbes. Tracy joins Elyse as they discuss Digital Citizenship, what it really is, why it’s so important, and what we can do to be better community members online. Tracy also shares some insider information on big changes rolling out on major social platforms. Tracy and Elyse dive into what Digital Citizenship is--just citizenship! That’s right--everything you’ve learned about citizenship in the real world can be applied online. It’s about setting a professional standard for how we interact with each other personally and professionally in a digital space. Social platforms can be a wild-west of sorts, so it’s essential that we, as visible leaders, make our community a safe place for civil communication. Tracy also speaks on mental illness and how likes and artificial validation can impact the wellbeing of social media users. Many countries have rolled out Instagram and Facebook updates that do not display likes in hopes of improving the mental wellness of their population. By putting the focus on the content and not the popularity, frustration based on verification can be lessened. Additionally, nearly every platform punishes those who post more than once in a day. This is designed to make room for everyone to get that validation. Tracy’s best practices for being good digital citizens include being balanced when you post. Don’t focus too much on pushing yourself. Try engaging someone else outside of your circle and verify their ideas. Not only is it a good business decision, it helps foster a healthy community. Beyond that, Tracy shares that by 2021, you will virtually need to be on social media to be hired. This means inclusiveness. Society is transforming--platforms are going to have to cater to sharing and supporting a global community. Staying linear will result in dead-ends. Ep 3131 - Three Ways to Conquer Your Fear of Viability

Welcome back to another episode of the Instant Impact podcast with Elyse Archer. Today is something a little different--Elyse sits down solo and shares with us three of her most effective, actionable tips on how to overcome the fear of becoming visible. It can happen to anyone--getting caught up in the negative mindset and focusing on how we sound, look, and act. But with the help of these three tips, regardless if you’re an entrepreneur or a CEO, you can step into visibility. Tip 1: Attach necessity to becoming visible. By attaching the worst possible outcomes to not becoming visible, and attaching the best possible outcomes to becoming visible, we set ourselves up for success through accountability. Journal about what could happen if you don’t make this change. Think about the pleasures that will come to you when you do! Tip 2: Remember who you’re serving. Any level of fear comes from worrying about us. You can switch that mentality by remembering that it’s not all about you! Push aside those limiting beliefs that tell you no one would be interested in working with you. Move towards the mindset that your uniqueness is what makes the message special. There are people out there waiting for you and your perspective! Tip 3: Get over yourself already! Everyone is already too worried about themselves to worry about you! Use that as permission to go big! Make that video and forget to hit record on your sound. Make mistakes! Put yourself out there and be known. If you mess up, it may sting, but people will forget about it in no time. Remember, come from a place of service and the rest will follow. It shouldn’t be a taboo subject linked with failure and weakness, it should be put in the forefront and discussed. Secondly, comparison is the killer of joy. Focusing on perspective and celebrating growth is a great way to build authentic confidence and can help affirm that growth. Ep 2727 - How To Get Out of 'Overwhelm' and Create Time Freedom in Your Business w/ Kate Gremillion

Thanks for tuning into Instant Impact with your host, Elyse Archer. Today’s conversation is with Kate Gremillion. Often times, business owners can feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get through their massive to-do list and slide into a feeling of being overwhelmed. We can get caught up in the image and personal branding and forget about putting supports in place to make it sustainable. Kate is an expert at all things streamline. She works with business owners and entrepreneurs to systemize and streamline their work by tweaking, organizing, and trimming our day-to-day activities. She uses strategies she’s developed to create freedom with our time without working for sweat equity. Owning a business doesn’t have to be stressful! Kate shares her tips for getting started: A “Purse Dump.” This is where Kate lays it all on the table and write down everything they should be spending their time on. This can help bring to light all the extra things on their plate. There are two questions to ask here: is this essential or is it generating revenue? Automation. What software can be used to free up time? Things like, scheduling social media posts, accounting, and sending emails can all be automated at a lower price than you would think. Outsourcing. If the thing they’re spending time on is essential or generating revenue but can’t be automated, it’s a good time to look at hiring someone who fits the job description you have based on your specific needs. Batching. Once Kate has narrowed down what has to be done, batching is a good way to get things done in advance and while you’re in a mental space that’s dedicated to the task at hand. Schedule. This is self-explanatory--decide how you want to spend your time. Kate goes on to explain her top tips for social media efficiency. She likes to think of social media posts in 90-day campaigns. Establish a clear goal and work backward from there. Her system is MVP: M: Mirror--give your audience something they can see themselves in. Think “Do you ever feel like…” V: Value--offer a tip or trick they can implement and get immediate results that will improve their lives. P: Personality--share a little about yourself! Give your audience someone they can connect with. She continues on suggesting that you should build credibility before having an ask, but do include a call to action in every post. What you’ll learn in this episode In today’s episode, you’ll learn how to streamline, manage, and systemize your work to free up your time and energy. You’ll get some tips on how to get started, what it can cost, and what results you can see from making your business work for you.
