Ep 124124 - 3 Keys to $50K Months

Life gets good at $10K a month, truly. But everything in the universe expands and that includes you. I am extremely excited for this episode as I outline three keys to having $50K+ months. My favorite topics are always on creating more abundance and financial freedom for you and it is time for that next level. In today’s episode, we work on limiting beliefs and self-worth, which admittedly was an area that took a lot of work for myself. But remember that you will only receive what you think you deserve and I know you deserve these $50K months. This episode is full of actionable steps to take, how to shift your mindset, and an exciting She Sells announcement for you, the woman who is ready for more. Show Notes: [2:05] - Life was good with $10K a month, but Elyse reflects on when she realized that she could be earning more. [3:43] - Just to live a complete life, it requires wealth. Elyse admits that she used to not give herself permission to want wealth. [4:50] - Everything in the universe expands and you are meant to expand as well. [6:35] - The next level you see yourself in is God given. [7:32] - Elyse demonstrates how you cannot literally want everything. What you desire is what you’re meant for. [9:03] - Your calling is the signal of your higher self calling you forth to a greater life in all areas. [10:25] - How much does your vision cost? [11:58] - Money is an indicator of how much you are willing to allow into your life. [13:12] - The universe will only give you what you think you deserve. [15:50] - The first key to a $50K month is believing you can have it. [17:16] - Nothing is big or small. It is all relative. You get stuck in your own paradigm. [19:23] - You are not wrong if you need less than others to live your lifestyle. [21:19] - Not everyone desires the same thing or the same amount as their financial goal. But you need to decide and claim it if it is what you want. [23:59] - Elyse shares areas in her life where she felt stuck and unworthy. [26:11] - Think back to something in your life where you were the best and see yourself that way with your finances. [27:04] - Expand your thinking and think bigger for yourself. [28:51] - Your logical brain will lie to you all the time. Know that limiting beliefs are not truth. [30:34] - Get really clear on what you’d like your experience to be. What is your day-to-day vision for yourself? [32:24] - Release what no longer serves you and create the space of allowing in more of what you want. [34:44] - How can you make an experience feel like a million dollar experience? [36:08] - Build a team of support that will help get you there. [37:56] - The design of the $50K Club is to be the container for women to expand with coaching and mentorship. [39:54] - It does not have to take a long time to grow to $50K a month. [41:44] - Life is meant to be abundant. [43:40] - Not having to worry about a price tag is such a freeing feeling. [44:35] - Elyse describes the $50K Club program, what it includes, and how to apply. Ep 121121 - Pleasurable Prospecting

For today’s solo episode, we’re diving into one of my favorite topics: prospecting! This seems crazy, I know, because prospecting and lead generation are two very common pain points for business owners. We’ve been taught to push through and trained to only use our masculine energy to succeed. But I have found that leaning more into the magnetizing energy of the feminine is much more powerful and feels so much more aligned with who I am. Listen on to this episode to learn outreach strategies that work and the most important things to remember when developing the right mindset for success. I share actionable steps you can take today and the tools you need to continue to grow in this area. Show Notes: [1:37] - How do we have more fun prospecting and sell more from the feminine? [2:56] - Prospecting and lead generation are two common pain points in sales. [4:06] - There is not just one way to do this. Lean in and do it in a way that aligns with you. [5:58] - Elyse shares what she loves to do and how she leans into this for lead generation. [7:10] - Take a look at where your ideal client is spending time. [8:15] - Pitch to the people who will make this a win-win for the both of you. [9:46] - There are different approaches you can take when reaching out through DMs. [11:24] - The personal approach can reach the right people. [13:17] - Take the time for quality outreach instead of bulk copy/paste. [14:57] - Referrals are also very effective to your current clients and customers to spread the word to others who need what you’re selling. [15:58] - Referral techniques do not need to be pushy. Just ask. [18:02] - Think about all of this as magnetizing rather than forcing. [19:11] - What things can you do to get yourself out there and magnetize people? [21:09] - Focus more on who you are being rather than what you are doing. [22:36] - When you are thinking separately from your goal, you are acting out of scarcity. [24:02] - Elyse explains models of reality that prove how your energy works for you. [26:07] - Be attached to what you are claiming for your life but you don’t get to decide who or how. [27:20] - It is not our job to micromanage the process. [29:24] - Reward yourself for activity rather than results. [32:08] - Know your numbers and motivate yourself. [34:34] - When it feels heavy, put it down. Pick it up when it feels lighter. [36:49] - Even short breaks when things feel heavy can impact your energy. [38:28] - The 50k Club is ready for application, so send Elyse a DM. [39:12] - There will be a deep dive into prospecting through She Sells All Access. 120 - Honoring Your Desires

This is certainly a unique episode as I am recording this while travelling. That said, it is a special episode as well because the content is powerful. Today we are starting the discussion on honoring your desire. The fact that I’m travelling at all is a testament to why it is important. Oftentimes we let the voice in our head tell us we aren’t worthy of the things we want or our misunderstanding of how money works will cause us to avoid the things in our hearts. But that’s not how it works. So let’s talk about the three things you need to know about your desires and how leaning into the unknown is exactly what you need to do to honor them. I am surely an example of decisions making absolutely no sense but I can also confidently say that because I’m following my desires and intuition, I am fulfilled and excited for what the future holds. Show Notes: [2:04] - Elyse is currently on the road and working with a client who is honoring her desires. [3:56] - As you honor your desires, life gets better and better. But we are conditioned to believe that we aren’t worthy. [5:02] - Oftentimes we let that voice in our heads tell us that we don’t deserve the things we want. [6:24] - It is sad to know that there are women who know something is right for them but don’t understand the vibrational energy of money. [8:27] - Scarcity mindset is caused by conditioning. Allowing in more is a discipline. [9:54] - Incrementally allow things in for yourself. [11:21] - The client Elyse is seeing has taken the leap to show that she is worthy of the things she wants. [12:52] - Your desires will always lead you to something better. [14:37] - Sometimes, your desires do not make logical sense. [16:00] - You won’t see the way things will fully play out until you take action. [16:21] - You can trust your desires. [17:11] - Over time, we lose trust in our desires based on power and trauma. [18:29] - Elyse admits that she didn’t trust herself just a few years ago and thought if she gave in to her desires, she would lose control. [20:10] - Spending more money is not the point. Elyse shares how sometimes the thing you really want isn’t the glitzy glamorous thing. [21:19] - Your desires will always make sense in reverse. Your brain thinks but your heart knows. [22:30] - You typically won’t have the budget and will need to go out on a leap of faith. [23:49] - Elyse shares one of her recent desires that doesn’t seem to make sense. [25:24] - The money will come when you take action. [26:54] - We can thrive when we lean into the unknown. [27:27] - If Sedona is a desire of yours, trust that desire. It will make sense when you take action. Links and Resources: Instagram | LinkedIn | YouTube She Sells with Elyse Archer Home Page Register for the Sedona Retreat with Elyse

Ep 119119 - How to Reclaim Your Power with Dr. Marie Mbouni

This episode is very unique. Recently I’ve mentioned that I’ve hired a new coach and that she is a shaman. Well, today’s episode is actually a part of one of our coaching sessions. It wasn’t intended to be an episode but as I gained so much knowledge and clarity, I knew I had to share. So, welcome to the show, Dr. Marie Mbouni. Marie works as a shaman and coach for some very well known entrepreneurs and Silicon Valley leaders. She is trusted by people whose names you are likely very familiar with. Marie grew up in Africa and always felt called as a healer. Through her journey, she went to medical school and became an anesthesiologist and built a solid and enviable career. But she felt burnt out, overworked, and overall unhappy which led to her leaving all of it behind and pursuing her healing work full time as a shaman and consciousness coach. This coaching session is all about reclaiming your power. I hope you have as many ah-ha moments as I did as we learn what personal power is, how to trust yourself and intuition, and how to reclaim your power rather than force it. Show Notes: [2:59] - Marie left a career in traditional medicine to pursue what she was called to do. [4:17] - Elyse shares a story about her 3 experiences with skin cancer. [6:25] - Her most recent experience with cancer created a strong feeling and calling for her to contact Marie. [7:32] - Through her sessions with Marie, Elyse realized how much power she was still giving away to other people. [8:50] - Get registered for the retreat in Sedona at ElyseArcher.com/Sedona. Marie will be there! [10:50] - Elyse and Marie begin a coaching session together. [12:04] - You have to define what lack and limitations mean for you. [13:29] - As you navigate through the idea of power and awareness, you realize it’s an alive concept. [13:59] - If you are not present, you are not in your full power. [15:10] - The center of power is the solar plexus. That center is influenced by other things, specifically childhood experiences and trauma. [17:18] - With children, make them feel the power of having a choice. [19:31] - The power of a good CEO is to inspire others and give them power. [20:44] - Sometimes we give our power away. This is not a bad thing if we are aware that we are doing it but otherwise it could cause a wound. [21:30] - If you don’t know you are giving away your power, it is codependency. [22:44] - Many people will fight for their power back but it’s from a place of shame rather than working to reclaim it. [25:07] - Elyse admits that she did this for a long time without knowing she was. [27:03] - Marie and Elyse discuss Imposter Syndrome. [28:10] - What you believe about yourself and your self talk impacts your power. [30:41] - How are you different from the patriarchy? How are you treating other women? [32:00] - How are you treating your own masculine energy? [33:22] - You can choose to embrace others’ ideas but where is that coming from? [35:26] - You can be swayed by other people’s energy as if it is an attack. [37:08] - My healing is your healing. Your healing is my healing. Our healing is all healing. [41:42] - Elyse shares the cards she has been pulling in The Journey of Love. [43:25] - Marie offers to work on intuition with a pendulum activity in the Sedona retreat. Ep 118118 - How and When to Hire and Integrator with Angela Greaser

Have you ever read the book Rocket Fuel? If so, you already have a good idea as to what a visionary is and what an integrator is. If not, don’t worry, today’s guest perfectly defines each one. Today is all about the moment I discovered I needed to hire an integrator. As visionaries, we have a million ideas and we want to do everything at once. But we don’t always like the details. I found myself doing everything in our business because we weren’t prepared for growth. Sound familiar? I connected with Angela Greaser who has literally transformed our business and life in a short amount of time. Angela Greaser is the co-founder of All the Ops along with her husband Dan. She has served as the right hand for some entrepreneurs you may have heard of like Cathy Heller and Sheri Salata. With a background in Education Administration, Angela took her skills to the online marketplace as a freelance marketing specialist and graphic designer. The administrative part of her brain quickly kicked in as she worked closely with entrepreneurs and founders who were brilliant at their craft but had serious holes in their operational strategy. Angela pivoted her services to include operations where she truly finds her "zone of genius." In today’s episode, Angela shares her journey and what it means to be an integrator. And more importantly, she describes the positive change an integrator can have on your business, just like she has had on mine. Show Notes: [2:49] - Visionaries have creative ideas but don’t always love the tedious business work. That’s where the integrator comes in. [5:28] - Angela shares her background as a teacher and working in a non-profit. [8:40] - Angela shares the story of meeting someone who changed her life in line in Walmart. [10:59] - She started moving into the online space and eventually left her full time job. [12:30] - Working with children prepared her for working with clients who are unfamiliar with the process. [14:10] - Information is at your fingertips and you can say yes to something new. [15:23] - There are different compartments in business, like the visionary and the integrator. [17:26] - There are also implementers who are assistants that manage things. Angela describes the difference and how integrators level up the vision. [19:00] - It is the job of the integrator to fill in the holes and problem solve. [20:25] - As an entrepreneur, you must be very self-aware and know what you need support in. [22:09] - Angela gives an example of how she takes things off of the visionary’s plate so they can continue to serve their audience. [23:40] - If someone can do something for you, they should be. You shouldn’t have to do everything. [26:20] - Your clients and customers are coming to you for the product or service you offer. They aren’t coming to you for business tasks. [27:57] - Get very clear and confident about your core values. Know what you want and you can lead a team. [29:38] - What do you value more? Action or perfection? [31:12] - Clear communication with bringing on team members is crucial. [32:46] - Give yourself grace. Your core values and priorities might change. [35:05] - Angela has a podcast about sales and shares how she found herself on this completely different path than she expected. [37:32] - How can an integrator help with sales? Angela is passionate about bringing the outcomes together with the strategy. [39:40] - Angela explains her mission and how this process is actually very spiritual. [41:33] - It is important to have a foundation. Angela helps business owners find balance. [42:55] - We will all be out of jobs if we don’t care about the outcome. [45:33] - We are all so different and have different strengths and skills. We need to lift each other up. Ep 117117 - Stop Efforting Your Way to Success with Tracy Oswald

In one of my all-time favorite interviews, today’s guest shares an absolutely powerful message. By sharing her personal journey from feeling less than enough to enjoying every moment, Tracy Oswald drives home the importance of vulnerability and being fully present. This episode is one you’ll want to listen to again and again to boost your confidence in speaking your mind, embracing your emotions, and showing up in your life and business as yourself. Tracy Oswald is the coach for Gen X corporate women who want to call the magic back into their lives by being more and doing less. Tracy is a national keynote speaker, and host of the podcast, Defending Lady Macbeth, the show for every woman who was ever told; you are too much, too loud, or too ambitious. Tracy is also the VP of Sales Learning & Development for LOCALiQ, part of the USA TODAY network. [8:18] - Describing her career, Tracy was very successful but never really felt like she was doing things right. [9:34] - In her career, Tracy shares that she did not have meaningful relationships with people and work was her identity. [10:58] - Dealing with emotions was a struggle for Tracy and she had a hard time being vulnerable. [12:23] - How did things start transforming for Tracy? [13:38] - Tracy describes how she was afraid of taking the next step because of her fear of doing things wrong. [14:57] - In her experience with Sleep No More, Tracy felt like she could let her guard down because she had a mask on. She was present with her emotions. [16:24] - Referring to a quote on her LinkedIn, Tracy admits that she would never have been able to write that ten years ago. [17:47] - Being vulnerable allowed her to start speaking up. The more she spoke up, the more people listened, and the more confidence she had. [19:04] - When she started focusing on the moment and being fully present, things started happening without her working for them. [19:50] - The real work is not checking things off your list. It is being fully present. [21:08] - When your brain is working in a fight or flight state, no real profound realizations are going to happen. [22:57] - What were the results for Tracy making this shift? [24:46] - Everything we do is for the emotional pay off. [25:43] - Tracy hosts the podcast Defending Lady MacBeth for women who are told they are too much, too loud, and too ambitious. [27:06] - Being in a male-dominated field can cause many women to hide emotions. [28:27] - Now, Tracy says what is on her mind even if it makes someone uncomfortable. [30:20] - Tracy says yes every time when someone asks for assistance. She wants to show up for all women. [31:15] - Start off by speaking out a little bit at a time. Test the waters. [33:16] - We think that time is something that is outside of it. But all we ever have is this moment. [35:06] - Time is not something we need to control. Strip away the to-do list and be present. Ep 116116 - How to Increase the Good You Allow in Your Life

Oftentimes we don’t allow ourselves the things we truly want. And even more often are the times we don’t even know we’re doing that to ourselves. In today’s solo episode, we’re talking about how the good in your life will come when you allow it. This is an important concept because it really goes against the things we’ve been taught. We are told that it is selfish to want certain things or experiences or because of our learned relationships with money, those nice things aren’t for you. But take a moment to think about your self-worth. Sometimes it is not the need for a new script or sales funnel. Upleveling your self-worth and the amount you’re willing to allow will cause a ripple effect of amazing opportunities to flow into your life. So listen on to this episode of She Sells Radio for my three steps to notice your resistance and take the right actions to feel good. How good are you willing to let life get? Show Notes: [1:47] - A client texted a photo to Elyse that inspired the topic of this episode. [2:52] - Your income will never exceed your level of self-worth. [4:29] - The magic happens when you uplevel the amount you’re willing to allow. [5:58] - Referring to a recent episode, Elyse realized that her heaviness was a mirror of something she needed to work on. She didn’t realize what she wasn’t allowing. [7:32] - You know you’re in a higher vibrational place, the things you want will come in really fast. [8:12] - Challenges are always preparing you for your next uplevel. [8:56] - The first step is simply to notice. We live most of our lives in unawareness. [9:44] - Elyse explains why you should notice your money rules. [12:28] - Your desire for nicer things or experiences is not selfish. [14:08] - Notice where in your life you are not allowing the things you want. [15:34] - It is so difficult to decide what is most important for your time. [17:02] - Elyse shares why she scaled back on work to spend time with her son because that is where she was experiencing the most resistance. [18:27] - Generate clients when you are being yourself. This could be a challenging reframe for you, like it was for Elyse. [19:53] - Because she wasn’t allowing in the possibility of working less, she hadn’t realized the impact it would have on her business. [22:23] - The next step is to create belief systems that support you. DM Elyse for a link on how to rewire your belief systems. [24:21] - Money always shows up to support your expansion. [25:16] - With money, use the word “invest” and not “spend.” [27:07] - To overcome her blocks and rules with money, Elyse had to anchor herself in the idea that she deserved to spend the money on the things she wanted. [28:10] - People who have the things they want, allow themselves to have them. [30:01] - Looking back on an experience with a photographer, Elyse shares the lesson she learned in how unwilling she was to have the thing she wanted. [31:16] - The third step is to relax and focus on feeling good. [32:44] - Your emotions are telling you what vibrations/frequencies you match with. [33:56] - Look outside less and look inside more. [34:51] - Negative emotions create friction and resistance. [36:32] - When you feel good, you will match with what you want. [38:04] - When Elyse started shifting her emotions, huge life and financial uplevels were allowed. [39:20] - Once you allow it in, the opportunities will come in fast. Ep 115115 - Scarcity Selling vs. Abundance Selling

In today’s solo episode, we are diving deeper into a concept that is so important in today’s world. On She Sells Radio we talk a lot about mindset and our relationship with money. But with that knowledge, how can we shift from scarcity selling to abundance selling? We’ve all been there, including myself. We need to hit a monetary goal in order to pay our bills. We need to make a specific sale to achieve validation. Sometimes, we can make that important sale. But oftentimes, we will feel pushy, desperate, and like we are just not good enough. That’s where scarcity selling comes from: the energy that you just aren’t enough. But abundance selling is a completely different concept and, put simply, it works. Not only does it work, but you will feel more authentic, more fulfilled, and more validated than you ever did when depending on money to provide that fulfilment. There’s more to come on this topic. You asked and I’m answering. Many women have reached out to say that one of their biggest struggles is shifting to abundance selling. So listen on to get started and understand how scarcity selling could be hurting you and your bottom line. Show Notes: [1:55] - In a recent survey that Elyse conducted, one of the biggest hang ups that women shared was scarcity mindset. [3:19] - Elyse has been in the scarcity mindset before when in corporate sales. [4:12] - Shifting from scarcity selling to abundance selling generated more sales and clients for Elyse. [5:13] - Scarcity selling comes from the idea of never being enough. [6:33] - It is common for people to set monetary goals for the purpose of validation. [7:26] - Sacrificing your integrity to hit a number is not sustainable. [8:59] - With abundance selling, clients close themselves. You still ask for the sale, but the energy is different. [10:12] - When people are coming from a place of “must,” clients will find the money. [11:27] - Because you are being natural, you can just be with your clients and have a conversation. [12:27] - When in an abundance selling mindset, your energy is pulling and inviting. [13:34] - Abundance selling comes from the mindset of being more than enough. [15:09] - Be grateful for every interaction and redefine success. [16:18] - When you validate yourself by being authentic, your energy draws people in. [18:39] - How can you shift from scarcity selling to abundance selling? Care about what but not how. [20:00] - Developing a healthier relationship with money is crucial. [22:31] - Money comes from a variety of different channels. [24:45] - Notice how abundant you are in all areas. Where is your resistance? [25:54] - Elyse encourages you to think of receiving the money you need in the same way you breathe. [27:12] - Ask the questions you need to get answers. [28:40] - Keep your pipeline full. Elyse explains why this is important. [29:51] - Follow up with everyone you connect with on social media. [31:17] - Remember the law of compensation. How much demand is there for what you do? How good are you at what you do? How difficult would it be to replace you? [32:55] - Think about the amount of money you want to earn. How can you put out 10 times the amount of value out? [34:01] - You always have what you need to get to the next step. Focus on what’s at hand. [35:50] - Reach out to your current customers and past customers to find out what is of value for them. Ep 114114 - Major Life Updates and Big Lessons Learned

It has been a while since I’ve done a solo episode and there’s no better time than now. So many things have been happening in my life lately and it goes to show how when things slow down it’s because it’s about to speed up! In this episode, I share some life changing decisions that have been made and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. These decisions were hard to make only because I wanted to be in control. But when I surrendered to the natural cycle of things and realized that I don’t need to know the next step, it all fell into place perfectly. Remember, you get to claim what you have in your life but you don’t claim how or when. And when you’re on the right path, doors will open. Show Notes: [3:01] - Elyse announces that she is moving and that she has a new mentor. She also has openings for private coaching. [4:36] - This year has been great, but there were months that Elyse had slow energy. [6:05] - Elyse was able to achieve a lot this year including the ability to retire her husband early. [8:17] - Things slow down before they speed up. Know the slowness is temporary. [9:54] - What did Elyse focus on during this time to help her through? [11:30] - Elyse and her family are moving and she is excited but it is bittersweet. [13:12] - Although not necessary to move yet, Elyse and her husband felt called to move sooner. [15:54] - Elyse describes the loan experience this time around in buying a new home. [17:04] - Mortgages are not designed well for entrepreneurs. [18:40] - Things will not always pan out the way you think it’s meant to. [19:57] - When you get a clear no on something, you focus on prayer and meditation. [22:20] - Elyse discovered a bank statement loan but had an issue with the lender. [25:35] - Finally, Elyse became frustrated and gave up trying to figure it out and make something happen. [28:29] - The “right” place was taken but Elyse trusted that the better one was meant for her. [30:27] - What else is possible might be better than what you think is the only option. [31:39] - Hold yourself to a higher standard and have higher standards for yourself. [33:24] - Give yourself permission to live the life on your vision board. [36:54] - Elyse hired a shaman and has three coaches that she works with. [38:33] - She has wanted to hire her for a while, but was not called to do so. She had a health issue that was a clear message that she needed deeper healing. [39:50] - Elyse shares one of her daily affirmations and experiences after using it. [43:12] - When you open yourself up to spirituality, you may have seemingly strange experiences. [44:31] - The shaman Elyse is working with knew immediately the scarcity mindset that Elyse grew up learning. [47:00] - She describes a trance her shaman put her in to find something that needed healing. [49:50] - The shaman saw everything Elyse saw in her vision. [51:36] - Get the help, mentoring, and support you need for every part of your life. [53:04] - What is holding you back from your next level is likely not what you think it is. Ep 113113 - Powerful Female Leadership with Kim Skouras

Today’s episode is all about an important topic that we haven’t talked about enough yet on She Sells Radio. That is female leadership. The fact of the matter is that no matter who you are, leadership can be challenging. And it can take many different forms. Maybe you are being called to a leadership role. Maybe you’ve recently been promoted to leadership and just aren’t feeling confident. Or maybe you own your own business and although it might be a small team, you are still not sure how to lead yourself and others. And let’s not forget that leading a household is also a true leadership role. When I thought about this topic, I knew I needed Kim Skouras on the show. Kim Skouras is the Chief Operations Officer at The Impact Partnership located in Kennesaw, GA. Over the last 25 years, Kim has spent her career focusing on leading people and the building process. She spent 15 years working in the banking industry and in 2011, joined the Impact Partnership to build out the operations of what is today, a top financial marketing organization. She builds plans and works alongside them to successfully scale their business and take their team, process and most importantly, profitability, to the next level. In what has turned out to be one of my all-time favorite interviews, Kim shares her journey and all the ups and downs she has faced. She opens up honestly and with such appreciated candor and her unique perspective is certainly one that needs to be emulated: that leaders are learners. [5:05] - Before digging into leadership development, Kim explains what her job entails. [6:15] - Show up curious. Leaders come alongside people and lift them up. [7:12] - Elyse comments on this new perspective of leadership that Kim presents. [9:03] - The mindset of furthering relationships with team members will make all types of conversations more comfortable. [9:34] - Women have a sixth gear: intuition. This is what sets a female leader apart. [11:18] - Elyse admits her current challenge in a leadership role and Kim agrees that avoiding hard conversations is certainly a struggle. [13:46] - When we give someone a “soft place to land,” we take away the discomfort that may actually cause change. [15:32] - Kim walks through her approach to starting difficult conversations to remain understanding and relatable. [17:11] - When your values and beliefs are out of alignment with a team member’s, it is important to follow your intuition and make changes. [18:44] - Kim shares the lessons she has learned as a woman in a male dominated industry. [20:40] - Kim recommends a powerful book called How Women Rise. [21:43] - Kim notices that her male counterparts never apologize for taking up space. [23:41] - Elyse appreciates Kim’s candor and different perspective on women in leadership. [25:43] - Kim went through cancer and shares the biggest lesson she learned through that journey: do not procrastinate. [28:50] - Every one of us has something in our hand. That is your gift to turn around and give back. [30:25] - Kim and Elyse compare leadership to giving. [31:53] - Personal change and leading yourself all starts with gratitude. [34:02] - Part of growth is surrender. [34:54] - Leaders are learners. You have to continue to grow and find mentors and coaches. There’s no end point to your learning. [6:29] - Elyse agrees that lack of clear branding is a common mistake. [7:50] - There is a difference between your brand, branding, and brand identity. [9:15] - Interactions and engagement from others can indicate how people are perceiving you and your brand. [10:45] - How can you build an emotional connection with your audience? [11:50] - Without clarity, we can’t have confidence. [12:31] - Where your values, visions, and passions align is where your purpose is. [13:28] - Make sure everything you say and do are aligned with your values. [15:02] - We have to own who we are and be content with who we are. [21:12] - Robyn explains why social media is not something she needs to do. [23:19] - The most important piece is alignment. Don’t give away your power. [27:16] - What is it about a storefront that attracts you to go inside? This logic applies to online branding as well. [28:33] - You cannot go wrong when you hire a coach. Ep 108108 - How to Close More Sales

Through a challenge that I just hosted on social media last week, I learned the areas that participants were struggling with the most. So, I’m taking the cues from them to talk about closing sales. This episode is a combination of mindset tips and tactical strategies that go hand in hand. After years of studying, learning from mentors, and polishing my skills, I can confidently say that I went from dreading this part of a sale to absolutely loving it. This episode is full of things you’ll want to write down because they could literally change everything about how you do business. You’ll begin to understand how money works energetically and how your scarcity mindset could be harming your ability to sell. You’ll also learn what closing really is and how truly listening to prospects gives you the opportunity to break them free from indecision. Like your services, programs, and products are a must for your clients, this episode is a must for sales professionals. Show Notes: [1:45] - Lead generation and closing were the two areas that women struggled with the most during a challenge Elyse ran last week. [2:56] - Elyse admits that she used to dread closing but after years of working on it, it is her favorite. [3:45] - If you have issues with closing, you probably feel like you can’t care about the buyer’s best interest and close the sale at the same time. [4:50] - Selling isn’t something you do to someone but something to do for someone. [5:59] - 93% of communication is non-verbal. Elyse explains how people pick up on your energy. [7:06] - It is critically important to have an abundance mindset. [8:36] - Elyse briefly shares the story of a woman in her 10k Club bringing in over $200k in 90 days after understanding energy and money. [9:44] - Money can come in from multiple channels which gives you the comfort to focus on what not how. [11:02] - Elyse explains how she goes about sales now and how she views the sales process. [12:06] - “It’s not a matter of if someone becomes my client, it’s a matter of when.” [13:25] - Elyse supports the sales tactic of simply being in the moment and knowing when it is not the right time for potential clients. [14:53] - Reflecting back to a previous episode, Elyse tells a story that illustrates the right mindset and energy for going into closing a sale. [16:55] - Understand what closing actually is. Help someone come to a decision in favor of their highest good. That may be a yes and it may be a no. [18:16] - You also need to be good at making decisions in order to help others break the habit of indecision. [19:36] - No one is buying things because they want to stay where they are. [21:06] - Another tactical piece that Elyse shares is to truly listen to clients. Is your energy to make someone buy? [22:16] - Take a step back and determine if the client is right for you, too. Taking all clients means that you are in a scarcity mindset. [23:22] - Feel empowered to really say what you’re thinking on a sales call. [25:16] - Elyse admits she used to take a lot of BS from prospects but she doesn’t do that now. [25:54] - Begin with the end in mind. [27:17] - Set the expectations at the beginning of a call for what the next steps are and the purpose of every conversation. [28:25] - If you set up a proposal, book another meeting to go over it. You will lose control of the sale if you don’t. [30:03] - Elyse demonstrates how she likes to close the sale. She determines if it is a “must” for the prospect before she closes. If it is a must, they will find the money. [31:51] - Give a prospect a scale of 1 to 10 to help determine if it is a must. This should be done before giving the price. [33:15] - Elyse's favorite tip is to help people find the money to work with you. [34:43] - Elyse keeps a list of ways clients could find money. People have resources but they sometimes act like they don’t. [36:08] - You’ve got to make your own money rules. Elyse shares some things she is okay with but that clients might not think about for themselves. [37:49] - This can be a sticky area because people will feel uncomfortable talking about money. You have to have very clear energy. [40:01] - Send Elyse a DM to receive training on five sales scripts to help you close more sales. [24:48] - Elyse shares how she resonates with Justin’s in-the-moment reading of her colors. [27:36] - Here are three of seven areas to check for hang-ups in your life. [29:46] - Here are the next four of the seven areas to be aware of on your journey. [31:26] - You can have colors that are overcharged and undercharged. [33:27] - Be present every time that you can. Ep 106106 - My Top 7 Sales and Marketing Secrets

Let’s change things up today with a solo episode on more of the tactical side of sales and marketing. I used to go into corporations and teach the tactical stuff but usually speak about mindset and energy more on She Sells Radio Podcast. What I have found through years of mistakes and success is that you need both. At the end of the day, you can have the right mindset but if you don’t take the right actions or ineffective actions towards your goal, it’s going to be challenging to get the results you want. So today, I’m giving you the opportunity to shorten your learning curve by providing my Top 7 Sales and Marketing Secrets. Just like with anything you do, take what works for you and run with it. Customize these strategies to fit you and your business. Learn from my mistakes so you don’t get stuck and most importantly, don’t put yourself in the box of what others think you should do to be successful. Show Notes: [2:12] - Mindset and energy are crucial, but so are the actions you take towards your goals. [3:42] - Take what works for you from this episode. Customize these strategies to fit you and take yourself out of the box. [5:24] - You can sign up for the Skyrocket Your Sales challenge by clicking HERE. [5:56] - The first and most challenging secret is Focus. Studies show that when you try to multitask, your IQ drops. [7:07] - It is when I am focused on one thing at a time, you will feel more accomplished. [9:21] - Elyse shares a story about Richard Branson saying no to an opportunity because it didn’t align with his priorities. [10:23] - An action step to increase focus is to turn off the notifications on your phone. [11:49] - The second secret is to schedule your revenue-producing activities. [12:14] - Prospecting and sales activity is what we tend to procrastinate. [13:29] - Elyse shares what she does every morning that is scheduled in her calendar. This is something that she is committed to doing daily to generate leads. [15:01] - Scheduling everything gives you an idea of how long tasks take and what you have the bandwidth to say yes to. [15:25] - The third secret is to delegate anything and everything you possibly can. [16:31] - Elyse explains how to determine what to delegate using simple math. [17:24] - Keep a “Who else can do this?” list. [18:35] - Every month, go to that list and see what someone else can do that month. [19:05] - Secret number 4 is to schedule your daily learning. [20:18] - Create a curriculum for yourself. Determine your goals and what you need to learn to accomplish them. [21:41] - Whether you are working with a coach or not, set your pace and keep learning. [22:06] - Secret 5 is to really leverage the power of visualization. [23:38] - Elyse admits that she used to be a negative visualizer. [24:18] - Spending time visualizing what you want to create each day gives your subconscious brain permission to make it happen. [25:53] - The 6th secret is to build your personal brand. [27:01] - If you are in sales or sales leadership in a corporation, personal brand is also extremely important. [28:35] - Think about where your prospects are and build your brand there. [30:54] - When Elyse did more tactical sales training, one of the biggest mistakes teams were making was to “follow up” with prospects. Add value instead. [32:21] - You need to have something that establishes yourself at an even level with your prospects. [33:04] - The final secret is to view closing as a service. It is helpful and important to people. [34:21] - It is a disservice to not help a client when you know you can and you empathize with the problem you can solve. [36:16] - Get out of your own way and be willing to also tell someone if it isn’t the right fit for them. [37:02] - At the end of the day, sales is just helping people get what they want. Ep 102102 - Shestainability with Rita Hausken

I love bringing amazing guests onto She Sells Radio and today I am able to bring someone on who is creating amazing change in the world with her business and brand. Rita Hausken is an unshakable optimist and truly believes that nothing is impossible. In this episode, she shares her inspiring story and how her son’s rare genetic disorder changed her mindset, her drive, and her entire life. Rita is a strategist and leadership coach who has supported hundreds of women to take their seat at the table and speak confidently so their ideas and visions are heard. She comes from a male-dominated industry and through her experiences has realized that the biggest challenge wasn’t the industry, but rather the masculine culture. Rita has since left the energy industry and is the founder of Shestainability through which she coaches other women to truly go after what they want, balance their energies, and work in a healthy and meaningful way that ignites their sense of purpose. I was brought to tears while listening to Rita’s amazing story. Through her tenacity, drive, and love for her son Benjamin, Rita has created something that is not only changing lives, but saving them. Use this example today of what could happen when you don’t take no for an answer and believe in yourself. Show Notes: [2:11] - A background in male dominated industries can make women feel very rigid. Elyse admires Rita’s allowance of flow. [3:03] - Rita comes to us from Norway. [4:05] - It wasn’t the challenge of it being a male dominated industry, but a masculine culture. [5:15] - Even with Rita’s son having special needs, she found herself throwing herself too much into work. Rita describes her son’s needs. [6:50] - When told that Rita needed to quit her job and stay home with her son, she went through grief and discovered that she was letting someone else’s limiting beliefs affect her own. [7:34] - “Although I could not help Benjamin live a long life, I could help him live a good life.” - Rita Hausken [8:55] - Rita shares something her mother said that impacted her and combined with her love for Benjamin, she had a profound shift of mindset. [10:31] - Rita then began to work internationally and reached out to others with the same disorder. Gradually, the right people started showing up in her life. [11:19] - A doctor told her that he believed eventually there would be therapy for people with the same disorder but it would take longer than Benjamin’s lifespan. [13:42] - Elyse and Rita discuss tenacity in spite of what doctors were telling her. [15:09] - At a time when Benjamin needed it most, therapy and help was too expensive. Rita shares what happened and she did not give up. [16:22] - Rita pushed and Benjamin received treatment. He is now 26 years old. [18:04] - Instead of accepting the doctor’s claim that Benjamin would die in 2010, Rita decided to ask questions instead. [19:22] - Rita encourages everyone to always ask your questions and never to assume you will sound stupid. [20:23] - Rita began Shestainability to help other women bring their “crazy ideas” to the table because hers saved lives. [22:10] - Shestainability came out of the idea of using both the masculine and feminine energies to create sustainability. [23:50] - Once you have self-awareness, now the creativity shows up and you are in your zone of genius. [25:10] - Elyse describes some of the limiting beliefs a lot of women have when coming from a masculine energy background. [26:46] - Rita shares about her trouble with the word “busy” and thinking about her creation of a mastermind as carrying a child. [28:01] - There is a cycle for everyone and you will show up in your masculine or feminine energy. [29:16] - Oftentimes, when we are in our feminine energy, we try to lean back into the masculine energy to be more productive. But what happens when you lean into the feminine energy? [32:23] - Rita’s social media of choice to get in touch with her on LinkedIn. You can also connect with her on her website linked below. Ep 101101 - The Affluent Entrepreneur with Mel Abraham

“Financial independence is a birthright. We just have to know how to claim it.” Thanks to our guest today, Mel Abraham, we are taking the steps to understand how to do just that. I am thrilled to have Mel on She Sells Radio today because of how much of an impact he has had on me personally. I have always been good at making money, but in full transparency, I haven’t always been good at managing it. I began working with Mel as my financial coach and I am feeling so much more confident and am learning more everyday. Mel helps business owners and entrepreneurs build meaningful businesses so that they can have more profit, fans, and freedom. His principles help customers become raving fans and create fulfillment from a business that is congruent with your values, in alignment with your higher vision, and connected to all stakeholders at an emotional level. He helps bring people’s dreams out of the darkness and see the light again. He is a globally recognized thought leader, financial expert, best-selling author of the book The Entrepreneur’s Solution: The Modern Millionaire’s Path to More Profit, Fans, and Freedom, and a highly ranked podcaster. Something I admire about Mel is that he works with some of the top entrepreneurs in the world, but still always puts his own family first. As you listen to this podcast, you will feel inspired and driven to invest in your future in a way that brings you fulfillment now without sacrificing what’s really important. Show Notes: [1:39] - Elyse admits that in the past, she was good at making money but not good at managing it. She hired today’s guest as a coach. [4:09] - Mel explains that many CPAs look back at what has already been done which doesn’t do any good if you don’t look at what’s possible for the future. [5:34] - Sharing a story about raising his son as a single father, Mel illustrates how he changed his trajectory. [6:52] - Mel’s son drew a picture of his dad standing in front of computers with phones in each hand. This was an eye-opening experience for Mel. [8:24] - There is no work-life balance. Mel explains that we need to be on a search for harmony rather than balance. [9:29] - Elyse connects with Mel’s story as she takes a look at her developing relationship with her son. [11:32] - The core principle Mel teaches is being able to clearly answer the question of “Why?” [12:27] - “How do you know when you’ve crossed the finish line if you don’t know where the finish line is?” [13:40] - When Mel moved his son as the priority over the dollars, everything fell into place. [14:34] - What is your definition of success? Your own idea of success is what will be fulfilling to you. [16:13] - Instead of always looking at the cost of things in your business, consider how much of your life it costs you and determine what is worth that investment. [17:04] - For Mel, he took the time to determine the intolerables to make appropriate business boundaries for himself and his son. [18:16] - Many people will compromise so much of their lives for money. [20:33] - Elyse and Mel discuss the simple strategy regarding investment that has been successful for them. It is simple, but not always easy. [21:50] - Think about the message you create for yourself when you invest in your future with the leftover income each month instead of investing in yourself first. [22:54] - Mel explains the 50% percent rule and how it works, especially in an online business. [24:28] - If you follow the 50% rule, you have the opportunity to create a lifestyle for the future. [25:30] - Your dollars are the best employees when you invest and build wealth. Make it work harder for you than you did to earn it. [26:24] - Mel advises that if you don’t understand something completely, do not invest in it no matter how good it sounds. [28:51] - From an advisor’s stand point, are they giving you the best investment for a client or a suitable investment? Get the right person who has your vision in mind. [30:28] - Don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you aren’t sure where to go to ask, go to Mel’s podcast and he will help. [32:17] - The qualities that Mel looks for in an advisor are 1) have the heart of a teacher; 2) they understand your vision and buy into it; and 3) they need to have the soul of a servant. [33:38] - Mel’s number one piece of advice is to believe in the possibilities and don’t delay. [34:51] - What would Mel’s son’s drawing look like now? [3:27] - The first is “All the money in the world does not matter if you are not happy.” With her clients, Elyse works on relationships with money. [5:02] - Money will not make you happy. It is very helpful and of course we want a lot of it, but searching for money to make you happy is not how it works. [6:04] - A lot of the clients that Elyse works with are high achievers who put a lot of pressure on themselves to earn more money each month. [7:01] - From experience, Elyse shares that working harder to make more money each month does not create happiness. She had to do a lot of work with a coach to help change her relationship with money. [8:03] - The reason we want certain things is because of how we think we will feel once we have them, but you can create that happiness from within. [9:37] - We need to learn how to discipline our minds and our thoughts to create thoughts that make us feel happy about our lives. [11:14] - Elyse poses high level, thought-provoking questions that will challenge how you view your happiness and relationship with money. [12:37] - The second lesson is “You can heal anything.” [13:34] - Elyse shares how she used to view how she helped clients and how she has shifted her mindset for more meaningful results in something she’s passionate about: healing. [15:12] - We all have trauma that has developed core wounds. How does this affect us as adults? [16:18] - Elyse describes her experience with inner-child work that she has done that she was skeptical about initially but that turned out to be extremely transformative. [17:44] - If you want to take your business to the next level, you have to do the healing work. [18:37] - Elyse believes that we are all given experiences in order to learn lessons from them later. [19:40] - A lot of Elyse’s problems in life have been caused by not trusting her body. Having lived through an eating disorder, a miscarriage, and sexual assault, she has had a lot of healing to do. [20:49] - She never thought she would heal from these experiences, but Elyse is confident that you can heal anything. [22:01] - The third lesson Elyse provides is about money. If you want to bring in more, focus on how you show up. Level yourself up. [23:16] - Filter everything through the lens of the person who shows up the right way and the money will follow. There isn’t a perfect playbook. [24:33] -The fourth lesson has been so healing for Elyse: Be yourself. Don’t gloss over on this one. [26:07] - You have to buy into yourself before others buy into you. Elyse shares something that she had been afraid to share about herself in her career. [27:46] - As Elyse has learned to shift her relationship with God as her first go-to rather than a last resort, everything has changed for the better. [29:03] - For those who may be afraid to be open about something, take a scroll through Instagram for like-minded profiles and see how they are crushing it. [31:10] - There are unexpected benefits of showing up and saying what you believe because you never know who needs to hear it. [32:34] - Above all, Elyse’s fifth lesson is to focus on love. [33:38] - “What would love do now?” Filtering through this lens will solve it all. [34:57] - When we shift into the creative plane from the competitive plane, you are in an abundance mindset. [36:20] - We’ve got so many exciting things coming up with powerhouse guests. Elyse encourages you to suggest a guest that would be great to have on the show. [37:37] - Never hesitate to reach out to Elyse as she loves to hear how an episode impacts you. Ep 9999 - Building Your Personal Board of Advisors w/ Michelle Koert

This week on She Sells Radio with Elyse Archer, Elyse is talking with Michelle Koert, founder of P Corp, a lifestyle design program to thrive in all areas of life. Michelle has 26 years of leadership experience with IBM, Google, and running her own global concierge company. Today, she’ll share things beyond the surface--physical, emotional, and financial health. Michelle hit burnout somewhere 10 years into her corporate career. She hit a wall and chose to take a sabbatical. She found there was a culture, across all of her corporate jobs, of ‘work, work, work.’ The responsibility falls on the individual to take the time they need, that’s where she comes in now. Michelle traveled the world experiencing a plethora of other cultures, and what she found was in direct contrast from what she was experiencing. As women, Michelle notes, we don’t take the opportunity to ask. When she did, she found the results to be incredible. She believes that more companies are looking for a variety of experience and the ones Michelle had became invaluable--her communication style and her ability to connect with people on a deeper emotional, compassionate level. She found that her femininity returned to her work. One thing that struck Michelle deeply on her sabbaticals was the sense of community. She was able to experience cultures where a woman would have a close group of lifelong friends that would be there for each other regardless of any circumstances. Michelle brought that philosophy back to Silicon Valley by creating a personal board of advisors. Replicating that tight-knit dynamic with a counsel results in a better work-life flow. Michelle’s lifestyle design program, P Corp (which stands for Personal Corporation) does just that. It’s about how you want to live your life now. If you were on your deathbed, are you happy with the work you’re doing now? It’s a level of stepping back and being intentional, realizing that you don’t have to live in a hamster wheel if you don’t want to. We have an amazing opportunity right now--we have a clean slate. It’s about creating an environment that is nourishing and sustainable. How do you last the next 100 years in the place you are now? Sometimes it takes change, but now is the time to make them. Email Michelle at [email protected] to get a complementary discovery call and her Board of Advisors Deck to learn how to build your own with intention and direction. LINKS [email protected]

Ep 9898 - The Mental Shift That Will Create Success Whatever You Do w/ Julie Ciardi

Welcome back to She Sells Radio with Elyse Archer! Our guest this week is Julie Ciardi, a former Fortune 500 marketing VP turned multi-passionate entrepreneur. She is the podcast host of IGNITE Your Side Hustle. Julie believes that there has never been a better time for women to create an additional income stream that is aligned to her passions and purpose on this planet. If you’re looking to make some bold moves, you won’t want to miss today’s show! Julie found herself at the top of the corporate ladder as a vice president in a Fortune 500 company, making a good, stable amount of money, and was the primary breadwinner in her household. However, even though she had a comfortable place to be, she was stuck in what she thought she should be, and that wasn’t leaving her feeling fulfilled. Making the leap to doing her own thing was certainly difficult. Especially as a woman, Julie found herself battling fears of high risks and guilt. But once that idea was firmly planted in her soul, she knew she had to do it. There was a two and half year journey to leave corporate. Many women hesitate because they aren’t sure of the ‘right’ way to do it, but Julie reminds us that there is no right way, and you have to decide what’s right for you. For Julie, she and her family downsized--because it’s not about the money you make, it’s about the money you keep. That allowed her to take a step back and commit to her exit strategy. Many women Elyse works with say they’re afraid to take action because they fear that if it doesn’t work out the way they thought it would, then their dream is gone. Julie shares with us that it’s okay to try something and move on from it to the next step. As you move towards what you thought was your ideal situation, you may come upon an opportunity to have everything you’ve ever wanted, and all you have to do is take it. Julie curated the stand-out, break-out formula. It’s about understanding who you are, what makes you tick, and what is unique about you, then bringing that to the table no matter where you are. The courage to that, Julie says, was priorities. It was a willingness to take the leap, no matter what. Committing to what matters most to you over everything else is how you get there. That means being okay with saying ‘no’ to things. When you set boundaries and have self-worth, the true value is found. Another big part of the formula is a certainty. Having a crystal clear goal and understanding that you know where you’re going and why can create a burning desire. Success comes from that drive--when you have that, you’ll show up every time and you’ll achieve what you want to achieve. From there, the money flows. Consistency is another aspect of the formula. Everyone wants things to happen faster than they’re going to happen. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but breakthroughs do. But, you have to put in the time to get that moment. Feeling flatlined happens and that’s where people stop. But that’s right before the breakthrough! LINKS https://julieciardi.com/ https://www.instagram.com/julieciardi/

Ep 9797 - Radical Authenticity w/ Erin Hatzikostas

Today on She Sells Radio, Elyse is sitting down with Erin Hatzikostas to talk about elevating your business through radical authenticity. Erin is a former Corporate CEO turned Professional Pot-Stirrer. She's the CEO & Founder of b Authentic inc, and a best-selling author, TEDx speaker, career coach, nationally-published thought-leader, and podcast co-host of b Cause with Erin & Nicole. In February of this year, Erin released her first book, You-Do-You-ish: Unleash Your Authentic Superpowers to Get the Career You Deserve. Erin spent her first 22 professional years in the corporate world, stepping into huge roles and finding massive success. Just as she was at her best, she had the itch to do something new. When she made the announcement that she would be leaving her position at her corporate job, many of her colleagues commented that they would miss her authenticity. This was a lightbulb moment. Erin wasn’t just walking around with an uninhibited version of herself, it was an intentional effort to be authentic. She had learned to use authenticity as her secret weapon--her superpower--and she wanted to show others how they could do the same. There is certainly a balance of authenticity and how much you share. Authenticity doesn’t mean full transparency. You’re not going to go into a Town Hall Meeting and talk about your cuddle sesh last night. Defining authenticity is vital--it’s much more nuanced than just being yourself. Erin boiled down this concept into an acronym--HUMANS: Humility, Unexpectedness, Modeling, Adapting, Narrating, and Sparking. Once you understand these principles (outlined in her book), you can see the difference between “being yourself” and being truly authentic. From there, there’s no limit to being authentic. There are factors that can hold people back from being authentic. Erin mentions that we tend to emulate behaviors we see around us. It’s easy to get caught in a vortex of following others because it feels safe. The question is how to get over that. It’s about the experience. One--it’s not about you. Authenticity is about how you can better connect with people. It’s getting people to recognize the similarities you share. Authenticity is also incredibly contagious. When you start to be authentic, you unlock a power within yourself. For most people, it’s more of a release than a pivot. You no longer have to be rigid! The underlying message is you can do things your own way. This isn’t about changing people, it’s about changing their addictions. You can ignite fires for others with your own authenticity. Women have an advantage when it comes to authenticity, Erin says. She says often, women have been conditioned to shy away from higher positions. There is a fear of compromise--sacrificing family time, health, and other important factors. When you start to empower authenticity, it cuts through the fear and allows you to commit to what you genuinely care about. In sales, authenticity is massive. Of the six principles Erin talks about, Narrating plays a huge role. Trying to sell through traditional means doesn’t always work and sometimes, just doesn’t feel good. By incorporating storytelling and a certain level of sharing vulnerability, you open a window for relatability. Erin's final tip is the 50/50 rule. Take 50% of everything you learn, and fill in the rest of the way with your own work. Innovate and evolve! Ep 9696 - How to Deeping Your Spiritual Connection w/ Tracy Dimech

Today’s episode is especially important and equally personal. This week, Elyse is sitting down with Tracy Dimech, one of Australia’s most trusted and sought-after Psychic Mediums. As a mentor, author, healer, and spiritual teacher, she is dedicated to guiding others in embracing their authentic, spiritual self. She’s here to talk to us about how we can deepen our spiritual connection and incorporate it into the work we do. Bringing spirituality into business seems like a difficult task--they’re two totally different things, right? Not necessarily. In fact, spirituality can become a superpower when you truly tap into it. Tracy grew up hating sales--it felt icky to her. The training she received worked, but it didn't’ align with how she felt. So, she shifted the way she did things--she started feeling her way through things instead of strategizing through them. After her diagnosis with MS and a history of mental illness, Tracy had a moment where she spoke to whoever was listening spiritually. She’s always had a strange connection to people, alive and deceased, but had never leaned on them for herself. In that moment, she noticed that she was surrendering herself to her spirituality. She knew the reason she was there was greater than her. Shortly after, she was informed that she, in fact, didn’t have MS. This was life altering, but gave her the clarity to simply post “Tracy Dimech, Psychic Medium. Now taking bookings.” The fear she felt now became an indicator telling her to do this. This was an opportunity to express faith, give back, understand where she was going, doing what she felt she needed to do. These are all new territories. She started to turn fear into faith. To have that faith, you have to surrender again. It’s a process of feeling fear, having faith, and surrendering. Then, the floodgates were opened. Clients flowed in, Tracy was able to regain her body, life, and spirituality. She had fallen into a place of alignment of her spirituality and professional space. But then, Tracy faced a different challenge--she found herself so invested in this work and due to undercharging people, ended up feeling sick again, clients stopped flowing, and things fell out of alignment. This was a sign to keep moving and make the changes needed before that happened. Undervaluing the energy she was spending was part of this problem. Once she brought her rates back to where she was able to serve not only her clients, but her quality of life, clients and income flowed naturally. There was a clear balance that had to be made. As Tracy puts it: A problem is only given to you if the universe knows you have an answer. In fact, when the pandemic hit in 2020, Tracy tripled her income. As fast as people would cancel bookings, people were filling them. You’re going to attract by feeling and living in a way that feels natural. In doing this, Tracy realized she needed to go to her clients and meet them where they are, and that manifested itself in a book. Writing this book was an act of service to share with others her journey. The key is to connect with your heart space, Tracy says. Our head is the ego that protects us and keeps us safe. What you want to do is get the voice out of the way first. Understand that you have a product or service that you know has value. Your head may insert conflicting ideas and questions and doubts. What you do then, is put your mind in your palm and place it over your heart. Your heart is a spokesperson for your spirit. Whatever it is you’re meant to learn, your spirit will tell you through your heart what it is. Your head, heart, and voice should all talk to each other, saying the same thing, and responding to feelings. The universe will always respond to what you’re feeling. When you start to tell yourself what you’re feeling, it can get distorted. If you’re speaking your truth, the universe will give you truth. If you’re feeling alone, you’ll only attract loneliness if you keep feeling alone. By not honoring that feeling and dealing with it, you’re allowing it to exist--every feeling falls under this principle. The first moment of surrender is acknowledging those feelings. Ep 9595 - How She Hit 7 Figures By Breaking ALL the Rules w/ Lisa Woodruff

Welcome back to She Sells Radio with your host, Elyse Archer. This week, Elyse is sitting down with Lisa Woodruff, productivity specialist, home organization expert, and founder and CEO of Organize 365®. Lisa provides physical and motivational resources teaching busy women to take back control of their lives with functional systems that work. Today, Lisa is sharing with us how she built a million-dollar business in a way that felt right to her, and how we can apply that mindset to our work. At the end of 2011, Lisa quit her job and decided it was time for her to land in her ‘forever career’ as an entrepreneur. She’s a 4th generation female college graduate and 4th generation female business owner, so it’s in her blood. She knew she had be hiding behind ‘traditional’ positions, and even though she was going in not knowing what she would sell, she knew she would scale online. However, she noticed that people in her space were making money from ads, which she couldn’t as she didn’t have the traffic to her blog. From there, she started her podcast, which now has hit over 10 million downloads. She realized over the course of this time that she is a teacher at heart. She runs everything like she is an educator, and in order to provide transformation, she had to impart actionable knowledge--which manifested, in this case, as a partnership with an online community, course, and physical product. That way, her pricing is up to her and she can quantify the value she is bringing on her own scale. Lisa understands that she could take all the good things she’s learned and knows the impact her course, community, and product can bring. Because of that, she can cater the value she brings to women, as she understands that more often than not, women have a unique goal in their heart that they either can’t find the time to pursue or are made to feel bad when they do take action. Lisa is there to solve that. With her organization process, she can facilitate that growth. Lisa’s business revolves around an organizational $97 “Sunday Basket.” There are 3 things you need to organize your home. The first is to eliminate your to-do list and kitchen counter paper pile. You can get 5 extra hours of your day by doing just that. Once you realize your brain is not a to-do list maker, and you can delay your decision-making to one day a week (Sunday) you find free time throughout your day. Then, throughout the 100-day course, Lisa offers, you go through your house and get it organized. For most people, it takes 3 rounds or 1 calendar year. If you remember that 5 hours you got back, that is now transformed into 12 hours a week that you didn’t use to have. Lisa’s journey to success in sales is full of key decisions. The first thing she learned is that she didn’t want to do is set up a recurring payment model. Lisa found that the women she’s working with already have a lot on their plate that they’re trying to organize--adding a monthly payment to that only adds to the stress. A flat rate is simple, one time, and out of mind. Her pricing is high enough to deter non-interested buyers but low enough to be doable if you’re invested for life. Number two: the value she is bringing is probably worth more than what Lisa is charging, but she avoids the “and you get THIS added on!” marketing tactic. When she started her business, she decided the price and charged it, even though she knows the true value. In not giving a discount, she solidifies her model without question. By doing this, she never needs to run sales nor teach her potential clients that you never charge full price. It’s worth having folks put off a purchase if they come when they’re 100% ready to invest in the growth they’re getting. Lisa doesn’t pressure people into buying! It’s so effective, Lisa’s only had 2 refunds--ever. Lisa’s background in direct sales has provided her with a lot of perspective and insight into running her business now. She learned 4 things every business does: Pink--leads & marketing Purple--the product & VIP customers Blue--team & personal development Green--P&L & admin tasks She figured out that many people are REALLY good at one of these aspects, but because you may not have time to improve the other sections, your business doesn’t grow. This is a holistic approach, you need all parts of the puzzle. These are completely different skillsets, so it’s important to allocate time and energy to each color. For Lisa and many other women, the guilt of the to-do list comes with being a woman either in a household or not. It’s not wife & mother to carve out a day to impart a system to a business. There is a mental block for some generations of women that disallow for that to happen. Once you realize you’re not a professional duster, the mental shifts towards passions. What business owner is going to listen to your podcast and worry about you cleaning baby bottles? It’s about the impact you can have on society without detriment to other aspects of

Ep 9494 - How to Become a TEDx Speaker w/ Dr. Elena Pawęta

There’s no doubt you know the impact a TEDx booking can have on your brand, your business, your revenue, your life and legacy, and much more. But, it can be a daunting aspiration, especially if you’re dealing with imposter syndrome. Our guest on She Sells Radio this week is Dr. Elena Pawęta, a coach and TEDx organizer who works with women. She’s here to tell us everything we need to know to get booked at a TEDx speaker. You won’t want to miss this one! Dr. Elena Pawęta found her passion as a communication coach, working with people to improve their presentations, impactful speaking, and confidence. Education is at the core of that, and Dr. Elena Pawęta worked as an Assistant Professor at a university prior to becoming a coach. She noticed that there was no TEDx event in her city, and so she applied for a license to host events, which grew over time, now hitting big stages and theaters in her area. With her experience, she now helps others land there. Elena herself struggled with imposter syndrome, having thoughts on inadequacy and “why me”. In fact, when she applied to work with TEDx and was granted a license, she felt like it would be an impossible task, as she has never done something like this. Then, she remembered that she posted the TEDx logo, asking who would like to join her, and the response was huge. In the end, she had a team of experts working behind her. She wasn’t alone and the people she leads believed in her. The key is having faith that you’ll be supported when you take the first step. Elena’s first tip is this: if you decide to do a talk, do it well. Work with a coach and take your time to prepare this speech. Apply for good, relevant events, because this video will stay visible forever. Identifying a ‘good’ event depends on what your goal is. If your goal is to spread your idea in a local community, then a smaller event is perfect. There are more experienced and less experienced events. Usually, events with the city name have more years of experience. Production quality is set apart in bigger stages. Go to the event’s YouTube channel to look at the quality of production and speakers. Make sure you’ll be supported as a speaker and choose one that is good for you. As an organizer, Elena has certain things she looks for in speakers she selects. First and foremost, they aren’t actually looking for speakers--they’re looking for ideas. They are considering what would fit their local audiences. In 2021, what would resonate with a specific group of individuals in the community. From there, they list those ideas and search for good fits. Many people have the misconception that these presentations are meant to be inspirational and share stories that inspire, but that just isn’t the case. Just because someone is a professional speaker, it doesn’t mean they’ll get on stage. To navigate that, Elena suggests crafting your pitch in a completely different way. Instead of trying to push your credibility as a speaker, demonstrate your ideas and why it’s relevant. Is it new? Is it innovative? Is it appropriate for the audience right now? Consider if you’ve shared this idea before. Elena shares a story of someone who wasn’t accepted to a TEDx event. She approached them and asked what their idea was, which was met with “I can speak about anything. What’s the topic of your event.” This person was confident and wanted to speak at any cost. She was not asked to be on stage. This isn’t about promotion or marketing--that’s not what these events are for. On the other hand, there was a woman who was invited to speak on stage at only 18 years old. She came up with an idea during the pandemic, selling cosmetics online--but not really cosmetics. When someone made a purchase, they were truly reporting a case of domestic violence in secret and safely. She wasn’t a speaker, didn’t have a professional CV, but her idea was fresh, new, and relevant for the audience of the time. Finally, the first step to getting booked for a TEDx event is getting clear on the idea you have. Very often, people who want to get on stage don’t have a good fit. It can be based on your story, your experiences, or other sources, but make sure it’s innovative. It isn’t a motivational speech, it’s an informative, new, relevant idea. Then, look for events in your area on ted.com. TEDx booking can skyrocket your career, but it can be intimidating to start the process and secure a spot on a stage. For many of us, it just seems REALLY hard, but not impossible. Take the leap and share your ideas. LINKS https://elenapaweta.com/

Ep 9393 - Selling Secrets from One of the World's Top Sales Pros w/ Rory Vaden

This week on She Sells Radio, Elyse is sitting down with her good friend and mentor, Rory Vaden. Rory is a NYT bestselling author, has been inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame, and is the co-founder of Brand Builders Group. Today, he is breaking down how to sell with honesty and integrity, how to hit your first six figures in sales, how to master your mindset with sales, and how to overcome any fear in selling. Elyse and Rory will touch on masculine v.s. feminine approaches to sales and much, much more. To kick off this episode, Rory talks a bit about what he’s learned from his wife, AJ (check out episode 86 of Instant Impact!). One of the slogans at Brand Builders Groups is “reputation precedes revenue.” That is, in no small part, inspired by AJ. She built her career on the idea that she would do whatever her clients needed, regardless of if she was going to be paid for it. When you do that, eventually you are paid very well for it. You are always paid for how hard you work, either now or later. The biggest mistake people make is being self-centered followed closely by thinking in the short term. What AJ does, is constantly thinking about what is in her client’s best interest in the long term. Rory has had the life squeezed out of him and treated like it didn’t matter in a professional sales situation. The point is, your reputation follows you even after you leave. It’s not worth ruining your reputation as a salesperson for a place that isn’t giving you the compensation you deserve. People don’t care where you work when they trust you. This doesn’t mean don’t close the sale, it means that you should work hard enough to find enough people who need your product right now. Being service-centered isn’t permission to be a weenie, it’s permission to help people make the decision that is best for them. Sometimes it’s yes, sometimes it’s no. Never is it maybe, and never is it ‘buy because I need you to.’ Rory’s message to people trying to break that six-figure mark: you need to work harder. The question is, are you looking for an excuse to justify why you’re not there? The reality is, you just need to talk to more people. The reputation formula is: results x reach = reputation. It’s not that you have a bad product or are a bad salesperson, it’s that you’re not getting in front of enough people. Do what you need to do to get there. You’re not losing because you don’t know how to write an email, you’re losing because you’re not sending enough emails! 99% of the time, you need to get the word out there. If you have confidence in your ability to talk to 100 people, you should have the confidence that you’ll create a space of abundance. You have to have faith that you will create what you need and not worry about your survival. When you can do that, you allow yourself to sell without trying to use manipulation. From there, you can free yourself from material need and come from a genuine place of care and intention. When there’s money in the bank, you can stand in selfless service. When you’re afraid of where your next sale will come from or how you’ll pay the bill, you are tempted to do whatever it takes to get the money. If you’re not afraid to go backward, you can bounce back quickly without being attached to things. From Elyse’s perspective, the grind for a woman can lead to burnout and over-exertion. Sometimes, it’s about finding what works best for you. Tap in, and start to feel when it gets too heavy and take a break--even if it’s for two minutes. Know when to pause and reenergize so you can show up as a genuine you. Tune in to hear what Rory learned from his mom, and how that impacts him today. Ep 9292 - How to Pivot w/ Nicole Aucoin

Today’s guest on She Sells Radio with Elyse Archer is an absolutely social media powerhouse who is going to share with you how she stayed relevant during a pandemic and will show us how we can do the same no matter what the market looks like. This week, Elyse is sitting down with Nicole Aucoin, the founder of Healthy Steps Nutrition and HSN CrossFit. She has been a major player in the nutrition and fitness field for over 10 years, helping thousands of clients achieve their health and wellness goals. Nicole’s passion is, and always has been helping people become the healthiest version of themselves. When she worked in a hospital, she felt as though she was giving band-aids to solve a bigger problem and wanted to be on the other side of preventative care. So, she started Healthy Steps Nutrition in 2012 and grew it to the point where she could leave the hospital to focus on the business full time. Being flexible in her approach is how she reached the success she has today. It didn’t matter what it was, Nicole was set out on building relationships with people first. In her business, she was already providing value for free, she just needed to effectively communicate how much she could really help. She established herself as an expert in a market that is flooded with ideas. Nicole stood out by meeting clients where they are and helping them achieve what it is they want to achieve. It’s about being generous in sharing everything you know. By offering tools for free, it opens the door for conversation when the client is ready to take the next step. Social is obviously a hugely beneficial tool. Nicole’s tip is to stay relevant with what is being asked. All your content should be focused on what’s on your client’s mind. Keep a note on your phone of questions that you see popping up across your platforms. If someone asks, there’s a good chance someone else has the same question. Consider starting a program during a new month, new week, and new year. These are moments of change! Plan your content ahead of time and repurpose what you produce. Additionally, video content is a game-changer. Getting on a call with a client and having them feel like there is already a relationship built puts you one step ahead. That happens through producing video content and becoming visible. It allows people a window into who you really are. Getting there isn’t easy, it’s scary the first few times. Some tips from Nicole--have bulleted talking points, look at the camera and be engaging, and add captions. If you’re making a video, you want the most amount of people to get that content! Consider batching your filming--film a few videos or generate content and keep it on the back burner until you’re ready to share. Again, plan ahead and have content laid out. Staying flexible in her approach and having a growth mindset throughout the process was and is key to Nicole’s success. What works today may not work in the future. Being able to pivot is essential. Part of that is clear communication with your team--everyone should be on the same page and nothing should come as a surprise to anyone involved. There is so much you can do with an online platform, think creatively about how you can maximize the value and support you bring. Your offerings should come with a “help-first” mentality. Don’t be stubborn--think about what your audience needs and how you can change to be of service. Remember, consistency is key. Your version 1 will never be as good as version 20, but you need both! Ep 9191 - How Her New Business Earned 100k in 3 Months w/ Allison Lacoursiere

This week on She Sells Radio, Elyse is sitting down with Allison Lacoursiere, founder of Your Clear Aligner Coach. When the pandemic happened, she found herself without a job, wondering what would happen next. Allison used that opportunity to launch an incredible brand in a remarkably short amount of time. She’s going to share how did just that, and how she had the right inner mindset before the money came in. At 24, Allison was working in the dental industry, where she quickly climbed the ranks. She was new to management, which launched her into educating herself on how to provide her team with empowerment and inspiration. Naturally, she became interested in coaching. When her practice hired a dental coach for her, she saw massive growth in her professional life, learning years of knowledge in a short amount of time. Eliminating her imposter syndrome, feeling out of place as the youngest manager in her workplace, was a key factor in the growth she saw. Her coach allowed her to highlight her natural gifts and strengths for her company. With her skills and practices honed and curiosity for coaching piqued, Allison sought her certification in coaching and thought about the future, which manifested in the form of a coaching business. Allison’s 6-figure launch month is something to behold. She started taking on family members, pro-bono clients, and close friends. When the pandemic happened, Allison just needed the time to grow her businesses. That came in the form of being out of a job--but don’t worry, she celebrated with champagne and started her journey as a business owner. Throughout the process, her mindset had to remain positive. She didn’t know how she would make it happen, but she knew it was what she was designed to do. She had a feeling deep inside her that she would be fine. Making that amount of money in that short of time can sometimes feel uncomfortable, as strange as that may sound. It can be difficult to hold that vibration. Allison’s mindset was there before she even started the journey. Every morning she meditated on that mentality, so when it did happen, it almost wasn’t a surprise--she had already felt that feeling. The biggest hurdle she faced was understanding that she was capable of giving back to the client what they are giving her. She knew she could sell, it’s about believing you’re worthy of the benefits. As she leveled up, she leveled up her support system. That meant waking up, working out, meditating, and manifesting abundance through routine and coaching. Additionally, the ability to shift her mindset around her value not being attached to what her client created from her coaching. Her value is rooted in being true to her best self. She had to redefine what success was. Allison noticed that the women she coaches often feel like they aren’t doing enough--this can be a result of not taking account of real benchmarks that they’re achieving. It starts with an incredible onboarding for your client. They need to feel like they are getting success quickly and would be taken care of. Reverse engineering the client experience is a crucial practice that can lay a strong foundation for your relationships. You want to build confidence in yourself that you will be able to fulfill what your client wants and set aside moments to connect. Allison talks about setting healthy boundaries, making sure you’re making space for the good, and more in this week’s episode. Tune in to hear her top tips for women looking to see exponential growth in their business. Ep 9090 - Overcoming the Fear of Visibility w/ Kristen Cullen

Welcome back to She Sells Radio with your host, Elyse Archer. If you’ve tuned in before, you’ve heard of clients who went from $2k to $20k months in 60 days by overcoming their fears of visibility. Today, you’re going to meet that woman. Our guest is Kristen Cullen, founder of Remarkable Resilience. Kristen has a strong background as a corporate sales powerhouse, and now as an entrepreneur, she helps others overcome life’s setbacks. Kristen grew up in the hospitality industry. From a young age, she realized that focusing on her passions and allowing money to become a result would be a strategy that she’d carry with her. In fact, she didn’t know any other way. Her introduction to sales was working as a bartender and waitperson at her parent’s location. There, she learned humility, diplomacy, and other sales skills because you were selling for tips--that’s how you made money. Coming from a place of service to sell is how you take care of people. The catch was, either you’re in or you’re out. When she finished college, she decided to explore sales in residential real estate and eventually real estate investing at just 23. Not only that, she was the only woman and youngest by 22 years. Early on she learned being underestimated was her superpower. As a younger woman, she was fearless, but as age sets in, so does fear. For so many women, we don’t feel safe showing up as our genuine selves. When Kristen left that firm to become her husband’s full-time caregiver, she had to reinvent. When he passed in 2011, Kristen understood that she had to be a mother and provider for three kids. That’s when she learned it’s okay to be a woman and embrace femininity while still producing at the highest level. She began branding for startups and realized she could serve fully as a female entrepreneur. For her, it was life or death--she had to embrace exactly who she was and love herself for who she is. Included in that is believing in herself was an x-factor. If something scares her, she knows she’s meant to do it. Part of what makes Kristen such a remarkable woman is how she overcame fears as she grew. For a time, Kristen was in a funk--not feeling herself and constantly searching for flaws in her personal and professional life. And even though she was teaching it, she wasn’t practicing being visible. That was until her co-founder called her out and challenged her to become visible 3 times a week. So, she hired a coach (that’s Elyse!) and everything shifted. She then was faced with an obstacle that manifested in the form of being too self-promoting. In the end, it’s about communicating clearly and effectively to provide content and value to your audience. When she created a plan based on peace of mind, she saw incredible growth. When she started talking and placing herself in a place of abundance, it came. Now, she helps others do the same. LINKS www.kristencullen.com/freecall

Ep 8989 - What I Learned from My First Six-figure Month

You read that title right--it finally happened. A six-figure month! A short while ago, Elyse made herself unavailable to play small. Towards the end of 2020, she became present to the bigger things she wanted to do in the world. The pivots she wanted to make financially, socially, and professionally simply demanded more money. Elyse dove in and decided to level up, and level up big time. Today, she’s sharing with us what she learned from that journey and how intuition can guide your success. With a new brand, new program launch, and new mentality, Elyse has finally gotten out of her own way and trusted her gut. Number one--it’s truly a decision. Everything in your life is. When Elyse made the decision that she was no longer available to play small, it required taking big, scary actions, like investing in coaching. In that moment, her brain switched. It no longer becomes “should I do this or not” and morphs into “how can I make this work?” Your brain is designed to give you what you’re thinking about--when you can do that, you’re in. The second thing Elyse learned was to stop worrying about the ‘how.’ In her professional life, Elyse has always been a controller. Through this process, she learned that the BEST how will reveal itself to you. When that happens, you can energetically live into that. She didn’t know ‘how’ but Elyse knew it was time to become the woman who makes 7 figures in a year. She started feeling that and forming herself into it. It forced her to confront some money demons, but without doing that, they would control her life and keep her from what she wanted. Once she overcame them through feeling the feeling of accomplishing her goals and visualization, she made it. In the end, everything is energy--when you match it, it comes to you. Step three is trusting your gut. Sometimes, things can defy logic. By cutting off consumption that can cause doubt and fill you with fear, you allow your brain to listen to itself and intuition takes control. She got radically out of her comfort zone and stopped being a perfectionist. The fourth step is feeling the feelings of what you want first. The universe is a mirror. Everything you want you want because you know it’ll make you feel a certain way. The universe doesn’t give you what you want, it gives you what you are. If you’re feeling anxious and overwhelmed, you’re requesting more of it from the universe. Feel what you want to feel when you manifest it. It’s about noticing when you feel something not good and understanding you’re believing a lie--a limiting belief. You can create your own thoughts--what would bring you closer to joy? Fifth: make it about something bigger than you. When you make the decision to multiply your business, have in mind the grander plan. It’s great to live a good lifestyle, but what else are you working towards? Consider all versions of your dream life--what is it about? Helping your partner retire, offer support to those in need, pursue social justice--identify that and use it as a north star. It’s about contributing at a high-level to things you care about. When you can do that, the work you do becomes profound and the people you serve can feel that. The sixth thing Elyse learned was that things happen fast when you get out of your own way. This massive jump happened in just about 6 weeks, and the money came in in 10 days. This is a miniscule amount of time relative to a career of making low six-figures. Of course there is a longer period of coming to this decision, but once it’s made, the universe caters to speed. The only thing that blocks things coming to you quickly is your own resistance to it. When you start feeling worthy of what you want and you take inspired action, it will happen fast. Make small, incremental up-levels--splurge slightly when it’s appropriate! And speak positively towards yourself. You deserve a compliment from yourself! Finally, do everything that scares you. This isn’t just feeling and not doing--it’s feeling then acting. When you stay in that space you get ideas and nudges towards what you want. Become unattached to how it goes. You can experience some resistance from your limiting beliefs that can try to derail you, but when you push your limits you can find yourself in awe at the results. There’s a difference between busy action and aligned action. When you are done with mediocrity, you’ll get urges to do things that the old you wouldn’t do. Your job is to do them. Ep 8888 - 7 Figure Money Mindset w/ Alison Lumbatis

If you were not in the yoga pants rut in 2020, you probably are now. Our guest today on She Sells Radio felt like that rut was impacting her self-worth and self-confidence and how she showed up. Alison Lumbatis of Get Your Pretty On® is going to talk about how self-worth impacts earning potential, how you can feel worthy regardless of anything else, and how we can uplevel our business and cash flow in a way that feels authentic to who we are as women. Part of what Alison does is helping women feel pretty, building self-worth, feeling good by taking care of themselves on the inside. One of the things that can limit a woman’s earning potential is her lack of self-worth, which was part of Alison’s story and journey. She had been working from home in corporate America for six months, but she noticed that over the course of that time things started to come apart. She realized that it was tied to not having the accountability of needing to wake up, get ready for the day, and taking it on. She ended up not spending any time at all on herself and diving into work. She wasn’t feeling in love with her job or her external self--but the journey out of that mindset started internally. That meant waking up an hour before anyone else in the house and carving out time for getting ready. Instantly, the motivation came back. Now, she’s sharing that with women across the country. When you take that action, the feeling follows. Alison’s relationship with sales has been a story of growth. At first, Alison blogged for no money at all. Then, when she left her job in corporate America, she poured all she had into it, but felt like she couldn’t sell to her audience--she didn't feel right doing so. That was until a coach let her know that her audience WANTED to be sold to--they were looking for something Alison could provide. At first, she felt almost sleazy asking for her readers to pay--she was hopeful for just 50 women to sign up to her first program. When 500 women did, her eyes were opened. Another hurdle she faced in sales was increasing her prices. However, she was adding value to her program, investing in technology to improve it, and going the extra mile. Alison’s product has always been geared towards women on a budget, but at that point and despite some backlash, she knew it was the right thing to do--new level, new devil. It was a major mindset shift that allowed her income to increase. You can have a high-dollar program while still providing high-dollar value. There’s nothing wrong with that! Handling backlash was certainly difficult--it is many women's worst nightmare. Haters didn’t agree with the price change. But, Alison combated that with information and comparative costs while demonstrating that the value she was bringing was 10 times that of what she was asking. A big lesson she learned was that she needed a customer support representative to act as a buffer so she wouldn’t take things personally, and she needed to accept the fact that not everyone was her customer. We want to be everyone’s cup of tea, but in reality, we aren’t--and that’s okay. The mental leap that happens when you make more money can be daunting. Alison went from $600 to $6,000 to six figures in her third year. She put all of it away and let it sit there. Slowly, she started investing her gross in her business to scale. Since then, she’s still experiencing growth even through the pandemic. Every shift and pivot has been beneficial to Alison and served a need to her audience. A money mindset was crucial--incremental upgrades are part of that. Throughout the years, Alison has been journaling at the start of her day. It’s her way of being her own therapist and going back and forth with herself. This way, she can be self aware and take challenges head one. She also explored having both male and female coaches to help gain perspective on both approaches to money. She noticed that men are not afraid to think bigger, whereas women will set safe, “realistic” goals. For many women, it’s difficult to trust that instinct that tells us to upgrade and increase incrementality. For Alison, she had a gnawing feeling of discontentment. It wasn’t about being unhappy, it was about moving the needle. If you have a dream house in mind, work towards that. No one has the right to judge what is “enough” for you. Ep 8787 - How to Crush LinkedIn in 2021 w/ Alex B. Sheridan

If you want to generate lots of inbound leads and do so consistently, you’ll want to listen to what today’s guest has to say. He’s Alex Sheridan, a LinkedIn Video content creator. In just 6 months, he was able to leverage this skill to the point where he could leave his corporate 6-figure job to teach sales leaders how to do the same. He’s sharing how to blend education and entertainment, how to show up confidently on camera, and much more! The question on everyone’s mind is how did Alex do it? He was working in corporate sales, lots of cold calling and emailing, a typical B2B job. He always had a desire to inspire people, and there is something exciting about starting a company, a place where he could have true creative freedom. He began teaching smaller groups of salespeople how to stand out. After starting there, he began to realize his video content was being engaged with and people were reaching out to work with him. Building a personal brand and generating inbound leads quickly became the path he wanted to follow. Six months later, he was making more in his side hustle than his full-time job. There are some common mistakes people make when producing video content to build their brand. The first being the topic and talking points surrounding your product or service without any context or targeted messaging. Your content should revolve around creating value for your audience--tips, tactics, strategies, etc. Give them educational, motivational, and entertaining content. Entertainment is a crucial part of creating content. Everyone has a unique trait they can bring out in this kind of content. It’s about being innovative and doing something no one else is doing. That’s the fastest way to grow. Inject your content with feeling--people buy with feelings and justify with logic. Converting the content into leads can happen organically, it can happen in the form of a newsletter, or even a landing page on your website. But it doesn’t have to be complicated--if you create an educational piece of content for your audience, consider making yourself available to talk more about the things you were saying. Either way, the goal is to bring the conversation off LinkedIn to close the deal. Connection requests are an important part of networking. Alex suggests you have someone on your team sending out 30-75 requests daily, but be sure that you’re targeted and not pitchy. You should be connecting with people in your target audience every day. When you’re accepting them, you can be broader and open yourself to opportunities that could help solidify social proof. There can be a fear of judgment when we get in front of the camera. Men and women approach it differently and have different perspectives on it. Between the two, many people struggle in the beginning. When people say “I want it to be perfect” what they really mean is “I’m afraid if it’s not perfect I’ll be judged.” From a woman’s standpoint, Alex has noticed they feel they need to have a certain look to be on camera, whereas guys can pop on and look the part. Alex feels that it’s in women’s heads. You don’t have to show up a certain way! If people will judge you for how your hair looks, they are not the people you want as customers. 86 - Becoming a Million Dollar Sales Producer w/ AJ Vaden

Our guest today on She Sells Radio is AJ Vaden. She’s the CEO of Brand Builders Group and was instrumental in that company hitting multiple 7 figures in its first calendar year. AJ went from making $24k in a year, ready to quit because she felt so misaligned with other’s sales strategy to becoming a million-dollar producer, growing the company to 8 figures. She’s sharing with us how she found her groove and how she uses systems and structure to support her creativity and relationship building with her clients. AJ started her sales journey in college where she changed her major from Art to Advertising. She dove into the creative aspects of the major but noticed she wasn’t happy with entry-level salaries. She asked, how can I make more money? The answer was sales. From there, AJ attributes her progress to divine intervention. She met her to-be husband after being asked to start a company across the country. AJ has sold in a variety of ways and has pioneered just as many strategies in sales. The truth is, selling is not a universal world where there is one “correct” way. Times are changing and will continue to change. What has stayed true, though, is that AJ is not a transactional salesperson. It just doesn’t fit with who she is, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be a successful saleswoman. The pressure and urgency that comes with transactional sales work can limit some women’s growth. When she decided to sell in a way that was aligned with her skills, she had to go back a few steps, but the growth she saw came this time in quantum leaps. AJ suggests trying a few versions of sales to find what your sweet spot is, and make it your own. When those leaps happened, AJ was going for quality over quantity. She decided who her ideal client was and surrounded herself in those networks. She didn’t want the relationships she built to be flat--she found that her best clients were not one-off engagements, they were much more robust. When that happens, you find new opportunities with existing clients. Think about what you can provide of value to your customer. They can help find your uniqueness--sometimes they need something you’re good at, you’re just not selling it yet. Relationship building is a superpower of AJ’s. Tactically, there are a few core beliefs: one is the choice to be niche. Find clients that you can go deep with. Once a client, always a client. A crucial part of relationship-building is responsiveness. By doing this, you stand out against the crowd. The customer shouldn’t have to chase you down to give you money. Balancing being present in what we’re doing and our inbox can be a challenging task. There are a few things you can do, and first, it’s not varying communication styles. Have an avenue for business communication--this will allow you to become more efficient. When you have checkpoints, you give yourself the opportunity to touch base. You don’t always need to solve a problem, just send a short, quick acknowledgment to let that person know you’re on it. Set expectations early! Additionally, no matter the circumstances, no matter how bad it seems needed or how unnecessary it may seem, having a monthly check-in call is crucial. Even if it’s automatic, make sure you’re making that routine, proactive communication--it’ll save you potential problems. By doing this you can confront problems you might not even see. Another tool AJ uses is her creativity, but it doesn’t come without structure. The small touches she gives her clients can be automated, it can be as easy as making a note and following through. There are a lot of great intentions, but the execution is what makes it real. Create intentional conversations that allow you to get to know your clients. Learning to trust yourself is a difficult, albeit necessary part of the puzzle. For AJ, she had people in her life who encouraged her to trust herself with their actions and their receptiveness. It is validating! Find a point of reason and let them help you find your own way of doing things. Tune in to hear AJ’s final thoughts on breaking through six figures in an authentic way! Ep 8585 - Managing Your Emotions in Sales w/ Holly Martin

Do you find yourself procrastinating on what you need to do, or are you getting derailed by something negative that screws up your whole day? That frustration can throw off your entire plan. Our guest today is Holly Martin, a single mom and sales leader with 15 years of marketing experience, even breaking 6-figures in her first 6 months with a new company. Today, she’s sharing how we can better manage negative emotions, create a good mindset, and structures we can use to get us there. Holly went to BYU, graduated, and started a family. At the time, she thought she would be a stay at home mom, but she knew that wasn’t for her. Through family connections, Holly entered a new place, taking the leap despite battling post-partum depression. She signed up on the spot with no experience beyond her people-person abilities. 15 years later, she is going strong as a single mom in sales. Now, she’s breaking six figures in her first years with a new company. To break that mark so quickly, Holly focused on emotional management. Sales has ups and downs. Holly reminds us that we are a thermostat, not a thermometer--you control the temperature. Whatever happens, staying steady will prevent you from wasting time wallowing in failures and will allow you to manifest goals into fruition. Believing that she would thrive during adversity put her mindset at a constant high, convincing herself that she was capable. And that happened in real-time, tripling her business. Her rock-solid mindset is built on a foundation of mantras, including “no means next.” She starts her morning with scripture and meditation, clearing her mind, doing exercise while educating herself as much as possible. The more you can flood yourself with positivity the better. Also, she tackles her least favorite things in the morning, in addition to a list of “6 most important things” aka revenue-driving activities. In the evenings, she balances her home life while following up with people she has connected with. Don’t forget to give yourself space to decompress--it’s important to balance the push with the release. Dealing with self-doubt is essential. Holly believes in changing dates, not goals. If you want to hit a certain goal, make sure you hit that number no matter what time you do. Don’t beat yourself up, instead, consider that you got as far as you did because you aimed high, and by putting the goal in the future, you keep momentum towards it. Also, look at the people with who you surround yourself. Partner with people who share your values and dynamics to keep a positive mindset. Only tell a story twice. If something falls through, let it out, vent, but don’t force yourself to relive that energy. Allow those feelings to come and go, not linger and drag you down. You can get stuck on a hurdle and focus on what you don’t want instead of looking ahead to what you do want. Be unattached to the outcome. Tune in to hear Holly’s final tips to women in sales! Ep 8484 - Sales Secrets of an 8-figure Entrepreneur w/ Tricia Dempsey

Elyse’s guest on She Sells Radio this week is Ticia Dempsey. Tricia transformed her own career from a 7th-grade schoolteacher to an 8-figure CEO. She’s the founder and CEO of Thrive-Her and is on a mission to help female entrepreneurs create purpose-fueled businesses and lives they love. Today, she’s sharing with us her journey to success, how she overcame challenges and fears, and how she trusted her instincts the whole way. Believe it or not, Tricia’s sales journey started as a school teacher before she transitioned into sales--which wasn’t as easy as you may think. At the time, sales companies were hesitant to even hire a woman out of fear of “keeping the peace” when a man and woman traveled together. Regardless, she landed a job and it took off from there. When she had a child, she realized that the hours she was working didn’t feel good to her. When that happened, because of her work ethic and her sales skills, she was invited to start a company with her former boss. But even then, the stresses that she felt weren’t in line with where she wanted to be. So, she made the move to start her own business and play by her own rules. To do that, she really needed to trust herself and know she had her own back. For Tricia, as corny as it sounds, finding someone who “did it” and studying how they “did it” gave her the resource to visualize herself “doing it.” A pitfall to avoid is the opposite mentality--thinking I will never be able to “do it.” The truth is, find your own version of what they’re doing and grab onto that! Be authentic to yourself and live in it. Tricia’s original mindset was “this has to work. If it doesn’t, what are we going to do?” And that was incredibly stressful. It also acted as a distraction from the health problems her family was experiencing. When she shifted her mindset to a “creating” one, things shifted again--this time for the positive. When she was able to create relationships and build advocacy in her network, success and revenue came easily. Part of building her business was sharing brand equity. When Tricia served on a board for Women in Technology, she attached her brand to that--thus elevating both. This gave her an additional point of reputation that she could leverage to meet people. Also, she made it a point to build authentic relationships through establishing a community. Her mindset is that of understanding what’s in it for them. Why should they care? Tricia’s big tip to maximizing the growth of your business is rooted in one on one conversations: CEO to CEO. It’s a simple strategy, but emailing or reaching out to individuals can be as effective or more effective than mass marketing. It’s authentic. Start with a place like LinkedIn to build the start of a conversation and adjust your messaging based on the individual. Talk to people--find out what they need--help them. The difference from 0 sales revenue to 6 figures was reaching out to people Tricia already had relationships with from former positions. Again, super simple, but as effective as can be. From 7 to 7 figures, her strategy was based on expansion with the same strategy. She found herself in seats on boards and made connections organically. Find some way to make a deposit in their bank account first. 7 to 8 was based on teaching people the simplicity of what she has done to scale to that size. Tune in to hear Tricia’s final top-tip for women in sales looking to scale the way she has! LINKS https://www.thrive-her.com/passport-waitlist

Ep 8383 - The Five Superpowers of the Female Sales Leader

Today’s episode is something a little bit different. Elyse is sharing a clip from her Weekly Sales Accelerator group. The session was all about selling the feminine way--a way that feels good to us women. Elyse is breaking down the 5 superpowers of the woman sales leader and how you can apply them to your own work. If you like what you hear, head over to ElyseArcher.com/training! The Sells Framework is based on 5 superpowers a woman in sales leadership has that can help break through six figures in a natural, organic way. This is where quantum leaps happen. The first superpower is systems. The female sales leader has amazing systems in place and is well supported by them. Using a calendar in place of a to-do allows you to leave space for creativity, family, fun, and relaxation between the critical meetings. Dedicating time in your calendar for each task, even if it isn’t directly related to bringing in income, will give you the timeline to get ahead and keep things under control. Things like scripts can be written on your time, with your creativity, for your uses. They are there for support, not to be stifling--so make sure yours is ready for you. The next superpower a woman in sales has is that she educates. She educates herself and her customer. Knowing how money works is key to accomplishing your goals as a sales leader, so learning how to maximize your work and make sure you’re hitting goals is critically important. Understand what it takes knowledge-wise to be an expert in your space and powerfully serve your customer. Also, educate yourself on how you’re wired! You need to know how you work to work in a way that feels good to you. When you educate your customer, sharing everything you know, one bite at a time, is a great way to teach your customers what you’re about and how much you know. People don’t pay for information. They pay for organization and application of that information. Google can give them information, but it can’t tell them how to apply it. Don’t think about “how much will they pay me to give them information.” Consider how you can make the information you know useful to a potential client or customer. Next, is the ability to listen. This superpower isn’t JUST listening--it’s the ability to get out of our own heads and be present, unattached to them becoming a customer or not. Instead, it’s attached to understanding you can help them achieve a higher good. It’s about hearing the question behind the question or the objection behind the objection. Getting into the conversation of “is this a must?” If it is, they will find a way to do it. You’re listening to hear if you’re a good fit for them AND if they are a good fit for you. The fourth superpower is that she loves. Learning to love the people you’re serving every day is truly unique and powerful. Really allow yourself to hope for the best in your client’s life. Have your goal to be an ally for them in achieving their goals. From there, the conversation becomes holistic and better for everyone involved. See them as a brother or sister--you helping them is you helping you. The final superpower a woman has in sales is that she surrenders. You get to be attached to the “what” but not the “how” in sales. You can be incredibly confident in knowing you’ll get to whatever the “what” is, but you don’t get to decide the “who” or “how” it happens. The power to sit back and understand that you’ll have your conversations you need to have to reach goals while not worrying about who is meant to be your client. Either way, you’re going to be present and do your part--from there, the right people will say yes.

Ep 8282 - How to Turn 1 Client into Hundreds w/ Lesley Logan

Our guest today is an amazing example of taking one customer and turning them into a boatload of raving fans who want to work with you and help you scale your business fast. Leslie Logan is a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher and has been studying and teaching since 2005. She also has eight years of retail management experience, and six years managing studios and was voted ‘Best Pilates in Los Angeles’ by Los Angeles Magazine. She’s here to share how she built such a successful business off the back of good relationships. Leslie’s journey to breaking through her first six figures started with managing a high-end boutique that she actually enjoyed. There, she learned about sales and relationships, but she knew she had a hard ceiling working for someone else. When she was invited to a pilates workout by a friend, she instantly knew she was hooked. When she moved to LA, but couldn’t find a class that fit her--so she started her own. Faster than she could imagine, she was booked to the point where she was working 7-days a week. She pivoted from her day-to-day job to teach as well. Getting booked early and often was a product of Leslie’s foundational mantra: get your first client obsessed with you, and they will get you every client. She poured herself into the first relationship she found and it paid off in the biggest way. She knew that when they walked out the door, people who ask them why they’re standing taller, feeling better, and looking great. Before she knew it, these clients were recommending her to dozens, who further referred her. It’s important to note that while she was pouring herself into these relationships, she wasn’t waiting around for referrals. She continued to be consistent and show up where she needed to at the same time. When she speaks to her potential clients, she tells them exactly what she does in a context that makes sense to who she is speaking to. For example, if she’s speaking to a business person, she may mention how Pilates can help with back pain, posture, and other related issues. When Leslie began managing a studio, she noticed many women in her industry were trying to sell the service or business, not the time with them or the attention and care they would receive. She discovered that if you can make people feel heard and seen, if you can show them that what you offer will bring them value and improve their lives, you can build a foundation of clients who return to you consistently. Demonstrate that you’re the only person who can do what you do the way you do it. Build trust through honesty--people will stick with you for years if you can set expectations, hit goals, and meet needs. Leslie discusses setting rates based on how much you want to work. Her formula is this: think about how much you want to gross in a year, take that number and divide it by how many weeks you’d like to work in that year. Include holidays, important weeks, and events as well! Then, consider how many days a week you’re comfortable working, and again, how many hours a day you’re able to work. You’re left with an hourly rate. This way, you’re not basing how much money you make on working more. Get specific if you’re considering making your side-hustle your primary income. How much do you need to make to fill the gaps? How much time will it take in comparison? Remember, people don’t buy businesses, they buy stories. Building genuine relationships is the first step in a long journey to bringing value and serving those who are interested in what you’re passionate about. Leslie’s final tip is to have the confidence to trust yourself. Don’t look for the next hot tip--listen to advice, but listen to your heart and where your soul is pulling you. Ep 8181 - How to Shorten Your Sale Cycle w/ Rafat Fields

Welcome back to She Sells Radio with your host, Elyse Archer! A question on many people’s minds is this: how do we shorten the sale cycle? The closing process can be daunting, but there are steps to get better. Today’s guest is an expert at this. Rafat Fields 7-figure corporate sales producer, branding expert, NASM certified personal trainer, and USA Olympic Weightlifter. She empowers corporate leaders to convert the potential of their teams into powerful results by building a personal brand that breaks through the noise of competition. Rafat grew up in the sales industry--down the first job she had out of college. Medical Device is her industry, and she’s dived deep into it her entire career. She’s classically trained and executed her process. A lot of sales training is designed for men by men and is very linear. This works in theory but can feel limiting to women in particular. Rafat’s first role was almost militaristic in her company’s training programs. Coming out of college into that environment immersed her in that limiting structure. While it was a good starting point, she realized she wasn’t tapping into her full potential due to a lack of soft skills. When she was able to tap into her intuitive selling skills she saw transformative growth. For example, when Rafat notices a customer may be uncomfortable, she can bring that up in leadership discussions. When they allow that customer to go to the problem behind the problem and avoid offering the canned sales pitch, success comes in. Sometimes the language you use in one circumstance won’t translate to another. Shortening the sales cycle and closing faster is the dream. Sometimes, though, it’s a burn and simmer relationship. For Rafat, it’s all about listening. Not just to what the customer is saying, but about their “inner ear.” Consider what questions you’re asking to identify patterns. Trace those threads and be proactive in delivering information in bite-sized communications over time. Consider what’s behind the ‘no’ and ask questions that will navigate past it. Tackle the objections upfront so as you move through the sales cycle, you can address them while not losing ground. They’ve already done their research and have gotten information from you before this meeting. At this point, it’s about carrying them to the next step. When you do a follow-up, offer relevant information that will further their journey. In your in-between communications, provide value. The quality of the questions you ask is what will empower you to have an impactful follow-up. Think about the questions that come up over and over again. That’s the content you need to produce upfront. That content needs to be consistent across all channels because you don’t know where the customer’s point of entry is. Rafat reminds us to lean into who you are. Customers connect with people, not things. Don’t deprive them of the crucial part of the experience: connecting with you. When that happens, you’ll see it in your results. That means bringing your whole self to your social posts, your videos, and your professional connections. In the same way, utilize your interpersonal skills, your observational skills, and your emotional intelligence to marry them with the concrete sales skills you’ve learned. Ep 8080 - How to Confidently Promote Yourself on Social Media w/ Camara Jackson

This week on She Sells Radio, Elyse is sitting down with an award-winning interior designer, successful business owner, and single mom of four. This superhero’s name is Camara Jackson, and this week she is breaking down how she built her wealth through intentional relationship building, how we can overcome the fear of promoting ourselves on social media, all while being a full-time mom. Camara’s journey started in her earlier twenties when she shifted from her career in property management. She moved to Florida where she worked in the DCOTA, with some networking and showing off her talent as a designer, she found herself working with some amazing people. When she moved again to North Carolina and had four kids, she realized she couldn’t work for someone else. Getting started wasn’t easy. Camara grappled with the classic stressful feeling: “Why would anyone want to work with me?” But, once she got her foot in the door, it was off to the races. When she combined her high-ticket client base with some social media work, magic happened and she was able to scale her relationships into a business. Relationships are at the foundation of Camara’s growth. Getting on a certain level with clients is essential--there are aspects of dialing into a person on an emotional plane that will allow you to connect in a meaningful way. Perspective is important, especially when you’re a big part of this person’s life. Sometimes you know about their personal lives, their families, their fears, and their aspirations. Don’t forget that! She doesn’t recommend sending an assistant to meet with clients. Setting expectations at the outset of a relationship is important with high-ticket sales. There will be highs and lows, but there will always be a positive outcome. Camara’s relationship with sales has evolved over the years. Going door to door and cold calling aren’t her comfort zone. She relies on finding something she can relate to. People gravitate to those who they relate to the most, so be that person on social media! She learned to market herself on social media by realizing that people can see through the B.S. Clients have seen her cry! Be authentic and show clients that you’re in it for the long haul. Getting over the hurdle of anxiety surrounding self-promotion is a hard one. It’s difficult to grapple with the idea that you’re posting yourself for everyone to see! The truth is, no one views you as narcissistic. People crave connection--and that means with you! If they know you’re a real person, they’ll know you’re relatable. Analytics show that pictures of ourselves perform better than others. Post those pictures--you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to connect. Imposter syndrome will exist, but just do it! When growing her business, Camara reminds us to look for quality and to be okay with giving trust to others. You CAN charge more and have fewer clients, saving time and effort while making more money. LINKS http://stylebycamara.com/ @stylebycamara

Ep 7979 - Breaking Six Figures in Corporate Sales AND a Side Hustle w/ Kimberly Kesterke

If you love the idea of breaking through six figures and you love the idea of earning that much at the same time through a side hustle, you won’t want to miss this conversation. Our guest this week on She Sells Radio is Kim Kesterke, a full-time mom, corporate employee, and real estate investor. She’s got over 15 years of experience managing her own portfolio and is passionate about helping you build a legacy of wealth. Today, she’s sharing how she does it and how you can too. Kim has a robust background in both corporate and real estate investing spaces. Sales were her first job out of college, and shortly after that, she was looking to purchase a house. In 2006, the market was on fire, and in 2008, it crashed--she was underwater at 28. So, she had to pivot and find renters for her properties. Every year she added a few more properties, eventually building up enough passive income that she can do that and hold a full-time job. Her mindset was based on failure not being an option. Being open to opportunity is key in this journey. Flexibility, now more than ever, is becoming necessary. For many, it’s time to start looking at options and going down that path. Having certainty and understanding what is available to you when you remove failure is powerful. It’s important to know that sales is a rollercoaster. There will be good and bad days! The truth is, it’s about perseverance and having patience. Uncovering motivation will lead to a rewarding feeling. Katie’s approach to success when starting something new and building recognition quickly was grounded in networking and introducing herself to clients. She started expanding by building relationships and getting introduced to other projects. Quarterly reviews allowed for her to identify other opportunities. Additionally, video is key. It helps build credibility and allows people to see who you are as a person. If you have no client base at all, start talking to people face to face via video! Discomfort can sneak it’s way in when starting with video. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Get it out there! Keep at it, and eventually, you get used to getting visible. When you’re in front of a customer in person or over the phone, you’re not perfect. Why is video any different? People relate to individuals who aren’t perfect. Clients and prospects are real people too. There is a need for what you have, they just need to feel like their making a good decision. Real estate can be a real cash flow. Katie went from being an accidental landlord to having an impressive landlord. For a woman looking to break into this industry, it starts with research and learning how to analyze the field. You make money on the purchase. Look for different houses in your price range on platforms like Zillow, but also consider consulting with REIA, Real Estate Investment Associations. There, you can talk through wholesalers--people who find good off-market deals. Work with investment-friendly agents for the best results! Once you’ve started, it’s time to grow. Katie really liked the neighborhood her first property was in. She discovered that her area’s market was a good place to invest. She invested in duplex and triplex because with a conventional loan, one unit pays the mortgage, and the other is pure cashflow. By adding one or two properties each year, she steadily increases that income. You will hit a point that is comfortable to you where you can give your tenants your attention and balance your full-time job. Trusting yourself is a big part of real estate. Listening to your instincts happens frequently. Getting an application from a contractor is a good example. If you get a bad feeling, it’s probably best to avoid that situation. Things will happen, you’re going to learn. There will be moments where you’ll realize that you could’ve (or should’ve) listened to that intuition. Ep 7878 - The Courage to Begin Again w/ Laura Meyer

What would it take for you to step away from a multiple 7-figure business to start over new? Our guest this week on She Sells Radio, Laura Meyer, did just that. She works as a growth strategist, helping women breakthrough through into the next step through her own lived experience. Today, she’s going to discuss what questions you can ask yourself when you feel stuck, how to get to 6-figures, and how to have the courage to begin again. Laura started her journey as an entrepreneur a few years out of college with a photography business that she eventually franchised and grew to multimillion-dollar levels. After some time, she realized this just wasn’t for her. So, she began again, leaving that business. And when that door began to close, she allowed it to close. After that, she opened her eyes to all the other opportunities she could find herself diving into. Now that she had that freedom, she was able to align her work with what she was passionate about, consulting and brand building. Elyse discusses the reality of understanding growth isn’t linear. Sometimes you need to shift, pivot, and allow yourself to move on to something new. So, how do know when it’s time to make that move? What do you need to do to get comfortable with that mentality? Laura mentions that it’s OKAY to feel uncomfortable and low at points, but that doesn’t mean your worth is any less. She reminds us that we are not tied to what we do. We are still people outside of what our professional lives and actions and histories say. Self-worth is internal and independent of whatever else is happening. Beginning again isn’t when something ends, it’s when transformation starts. It’s about finding joy and making what you do joyful. If you feel stuck or plateaued, Laura suggests taking inventory of what you’re doing and considering the effort v.s. Outcome. It’s valuable to be able to say ‘no.’ For many people, they keep adding on ‘yes’ without trimming off unneeded effort. Find what you need to get rid of and make that leap! Run the numbers and find what is bringing in the most amount of revenue--often times it can be something that takes the least work. Look for the shortest distance between where you want to be and where you are. Laura discusses how we need to be very intentional about who we allow to have access to our lives. It can be difficult to have those hard conversations and can end in conflict. The truth is, if that relationship will end there, that is where they were destined to go. It’s much more effective to nip it in the bud and get ahead of the exhaustion that comes with making those cuts too late. Listen to your intuition and make the move. In the end, others can find other positions, but this is your livelihood. When it comes to sales, Laura approaches it from a relationship standpoint. Many people look at sales from the perspective of getting from a client. She suggests flipping that to “what can I provide?” She’s most interested in helping them. If she isn’t the right person, she can find someone who is. Be secure in your offer and how you can create value! Come from a place of serving and intuition, following your feminine mindset to see maximum results. We forget that it’s fundamental demand, offer, and matching those to your audience. It’s not about what you’re worth. Laura’s advice for women trying to break into 6 figures is all about having a clear vision. Be open to how that vision shows up. Be committed in the ‘why’ and flexible in the ‘how.’ Beyond that, let it be fun! Tune in to hear Laura’s closing tips and words of wisdom! Ep 7777 - Why You Should Bet On Yourself w/ Marie Deveaux

This week’s episode of She Sells Radio surrounds one of the most important concepts in sales. How often do you look outside of yourself for validation? While there is value there, the answers you seek are within yourself. This week, Elyse is sitting down with Marie Deveaux, an executive leadership coach whose mission is to magnify the voices and agency of women and minorities in their workspaces. She’ll share her personal experience, and break down why it’s essential to bet on yourself, how to be confident while being visible, and how to get out of our own way when growing our business. Marie’s passion is very personal. She works and has worked in the non-profit and corporate sectors, uplifting marginalized voices in every way. When she found herself in a situation where her manager was actively working against her, she felt as though she needed to leave. There was a lack of trust and a lack of respect. When that time came, she pivoted to her coaching career. She teaches and believes that we spend a lot of time outsourcing our worthiness when in reality validation won’t always come from those we seek it out from. It’s important to find it within. Marie’s relationship with sales is rooted in authenticity. At first, she was avoidant of sales because she didn’t like the idea of being “sold” something--forcing someone to need or want a product. When she entered the non-profit sector selling after-school programs, she realized sales isn’t sleazy when you truly believe in the service you’re selling. Then, it’s providing value. And you get to pay the bills! Money is a tool and there has to be an exchange. Money isn’t the goal. It’s a byproduct of doing what you love. A lot of Marie’s sales work is based around uplifting women of color. In a broad sense, translating what you’ve learned and your passions to your job can be difficult. What happens when you sell for yourself, you’re attached to that validation. For women of color, often times the spaces they are in are not validating in any way. There is an expectation of “proving” themselves before they get any recognition. Being told to be quiet, fighting for promotions, you name it, are all part of working for someone else. When that shifts into working for yourself, that validation becomes incredibly personal. This manifests in a negative way--making yourself small and not trusting that you are worthy of the sale. Marie reminds us to not get attached to the result. If they aren’t a fit, that isn’t a reflection of your worth. So, how do we start to validate ourselves? The starting point is unearthing it for yourself. What works for one person isn’t going to work for you. It’s about accepting that exploring can be fun! In a corporate environment, you can be given a script--and in an actual conversation, the script doesn’t feel right--it’s because it’s not. You aren’t allowed to be yourself. As an entrepreneur, you get to create it all yourself. It’s a sandbox! Check-in--does my process make sense for me? It should feel aligned and authentic to who you are. Becoming visible is an intimidating concept. It can feel vulnerable putting yourself out there. Marie reminds us that nervousness doesn’t equal bad. It means you care! Additionally, don’t forget that you are coming from a place of service. When you show up, you’re in a position to bless people. The tension surrounding judgment can be released--you’re solving a problem--don’t overthink it. Part of the beauty of being visible is you’re never done growing. Get clear on who you serve, the problem you solve, and where your passions lie. LINKS Mariedeveaux.com Marie Deveaux on LinkedIn Interested in getting to know yourself and jump into entrepreneurship?
