I had no complaints about my life. Growing up, my childhood was perfect. I lived in the ideal little neighborhood – everyone there was my friend! The kids my age and I were always up to something exciting. We got almost anything we asked for because our parents were cool like that. We’d never heard of any burglaries or any type of crime in the area so we had nothing to be afraid of. My school was the best too. The last day of school is always so exciting. On that particular day, I noticed a new customer. I had never seen her before, and I knew everyone from the morning rush. This woman was staring at me, staring at me hard. I guessed she didn’t work, because most people who started that early had already left. I thought it was the best job in the world. The day I got my acceptance letter to my dream college was… Bittersweet. I was over the moon, they didn’t accept many people and had the best nursing program, but then I received some bad news. I was celebrating with my parents at a restaurant, when my mom got up to answer a phone call. She came back to the table with tears in her eyes. My grandma was in the hospital. She had suddenly fallen ill. I was heartbroken and worried, but I turned these feelings into fuel. I always get asked if it’s weird being an orphan, if I miss my parents, but what people don’t understand is that I lost my parents when I was 3, I have little to no memories of them. My first memory is holding on to a caretaker’s hand as I entered the orphanage I spent my childhood and early teenage years in.The orphanage was pretty dull. My everyday routine was too repetitive. I woke up, showered, had breakfast in the dining hall by myself and then went to school. I didn’t grow up rich. At all. I was raised by a strong woman who worked day and night to provide, so of course I didn’t mind working as a waitress. I took pride in it, in fact. The catch is, one of them is an imposter, and the imposter's job is to kill off each crewmate without being caught.
