I was totally bummed out. I had just finished reading my rejection letter from my dream college and I felt like I didn’t want to exist anymore. I sat on my living room couch feeling like my soul had been sucked out of me.
“Spencer you still have a lot to be hopeful for! You were accepted into five other colleges so just pick one!” my sister Hannah said.
Since kindergarten I’d always been at the top of my class. I always imagined myself at the best university in the country and now that they’d rejected me I didn’t know what to do.
“Come on! Stop looking like that! Two of the colleges you got accepted into are Ivy league schools. They may not be the one you really wanted to go to but they’re still pretty great! Just pick one!” she continued, trying to make me feel better.
