Darth Vader fights Palpatine and loses terribly. As Sidious knows he was trying to find more about Padme at her Tomb with Sabe, and knows of his loss of Luke Skywalker to the light side. Palpatine is displeased and summons Vader to the Jedi Temple (now the Imperial Palace). Here, he fights Vader, and destroys him. Taking Vader to Mustafar, Palpatine tells him to not use the force for his survival, and sends Ochi of Bestoon upon him, for the next Star Wars issue. Learn more about your ad choices. Darth Vader sees Anakin Skywalker vs Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar (Revenge of the Sith) where he remembers what happened to Anakin, while at the death place of his wife, Padme Amidala (Polis Massa where Obi-Wan helped her deliver Luke and Leia Skywalker, with Yoda and Bail Organa). In today's new canon Vader comic by Marvel, we get to continue the story right where we left off last time, with Vader taking his troopers to Padme's Tomb on Naboo. Along the way he goes through several battles, including one with some characters from the prequels that you will know. Vader must combat his inner Anakin Skywalker as he sees all of Padme's belongings. Things that Anakin gave Padme when he was still a little boy, all the way to when he was a man. I'm looking forward to seeing where Vader goes in the next issue, and how Anakin could try to stop him! Remember, Anakin doesn't fully return until Return of the Jedi when Luke Skywalker saved Vader from the Emperor. However, in this time, Anakin still resides within Vader, waiting to be freed since his knighting of Vader in Revenge of the Sith all those years ago! Will we see ghosts of his past in the tomb? Obi-Wan Kenobi? Mace Windu? Yoday? I'll tell you what I want to see, Qui-Gon Jinn, that's who I'd want to see return to speak to Anakin through Vader. Learn more about your ad choices. In the NEW Star Wars Darth Vader issue, Vader lands on Naboo with Padme's shadow, Sabe from the prequels. You may remember her as the Queen of Naboo who would switch roles with Padme to keep her safe during the blockade. Sabe is alive, and she has met with Vader to find the true killer behind Padme's demise. She vows to bring them to justice and avenge her. As Vader goes to Naboo, he is taken to many of the places where Anakin Skywalker and Padme fell in love. Vader is tormented by these memories of Anakin as he meets with Captain Typho who leads him eventually to a painting of the scene in Episode 1 The Phantom Menace where Anakin is a padawan with Obi-Wan Kenobi, as they stand amidst the Naboo parade with Padme, Palpatine and Bos Nass. Vader is angered and uses his lightsaber to destroy the wall around him as he feels they are wasting his time. Once they get the hologram which shows Sabe uniting with her crew to avenge Padme, Vader knows he was fooled. We are hit with images of the aftermath from Anakin vs Obi-Wan on Mustafar, where Anakin is laying and Padme is pregnant with Luke and Leia. In this new second issue of the Vader comics (2020) we get Vader finally coming face to face with Padme...well...who he THINKS could be Padme for a moment, until he realizes this is the Queen's Shadow, Sabe. In the Vader comic by Marvel and Lucasfilm, we get the story starting off right after Empire Strikes Back, when Vader told Luke Skywalker, that he was his father. In the new canon Vader comics, we got a very interesting scene with Palpatine and Anakin's mother (Shmi) where we see him controlling the dark side of the force around her as Anakin is being created. This led MANY fans (including me) and articles to lean towards believing Lucasfilm had just revealed Anakin's father as Palpatine himself. This has led to many fans saying Rey and Kylo could be related in Rise of Skywalker. We now know, officially, that this is not the case. Learn more about your ad choices. Just when I thought Kylo could finally show his full darkness and how powerful he was...we see that he didn't even do anything to Luke's Jedi Temple or students. What a twist...I'm not really a fan of it to be honest. The MOST WANTED on the list...is Jocasta Nu, the librarian who told Obi-Wan Kenobi to essentially 'buzz off' when he was looking for a star system in the Jedi archives files. Could she be holding the ancient holocrons of the ancient Jedi and Sith?
