The US Senate recognized June 27th as National PTSD Awareness Day at the urging of Senator Kent Conrad. Conrad wanted to honor a North Dakota National Guard member who had committed suicide after two tours of duty in Iraq. That designation came in 2014. Why is rent going up faster than income?
Pittsburgh is one of only four large metropolitan cities where the rate of income has gone up faster than the rate of rent. Clever Real Estate looked at income and rent numbers for the 50 largest population areas of the United States. It crunched income numbers from the US Census Bureau and rent statistics come from the St. Louis Federal Reserve. Jamie Seale is a Strategist with Clever. She joined Rick Dayton on KDKA Radio Thursday to discuss their findings.

Rebekah Paxton
The PA House of Representatives passed a bill that will increase the state minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2026. It also will raise the tipped minimum wage to $9 per hour. However, there are many other things in the bill that could cost Pennsylvania 86,000 jobs if the bill becomes law. Rebekah Paxton is the director of research at the Employment Policies Institute, a non-profit research organization that looks at public policy as it impacts employment growth.
