"The reward of grace, a pure gift" Septuagesima 2022
It's a demonic distortion to try to flatten the incredible God-given diversity and order of the world or the church. And to try to force an equal outcome on this world is to try to turn it into a flat, dull, and ugly place, a Christ-less “heaven” where you’ll own nothing and never be happy. And yet, Jesus says that our reward can be great in heaven. The fathers used to speak of this reward as the reward of grace, a pure gift since it is just as unearned and undeserved as the whole day's pay that the laborers in the vineyard received, even though they had only worked an hour.

"No one but Jesus only" Transfiguration 2022
This isn’t the first time Moses and Elijah had spoken with Jesus. And there is nothing they have said that does not see its fulfillment in Jesus. Everything Moses and Elijah preached pointed to the forgiveness of sins purchased and won in Jesus’ shed blood and innocent suffering and death. Look to Jesus and Jesus only.

“Awake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arise!" (Epiphany 4) - January 30, 2022
The life of the Christian and Christ’s church under the cross must be revealed to you and trust worked in you by the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, you’d want nothing to do with it. You should see the face of the new convert when I tell them that their life will be worse now they believe in Jesus. The devil, world, sin, and hell will rage and storm against them because they are with Christ and in His ark, the Church. And this is exactly how Jesus wants it!

In the past, though, even Christian families could depend on the outside world to support their mission. In turn, strong families produced good citizens capable of building a strong society. Now, however, Christian families, in particular, are under constant, direct, and sustained attacks by a government and culture that view Christian families as a threat to a state that desires to control every aspect of their lives through laws, policies, and court decisions that diminish or sever parental rights.
