"The Spirit never fails to return you to learn and receive what Christ has done for you" Pentecost 2022
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The means which the Spirit uses is the Word. He does not work apart from Jesus and endeavors only to give you Jesus in the Word. He teaches you all that Jesus taught and reminds you daily of what Jesus said. It is the work of the Spirit that brings you, Jesus Christ, in the Word. Jesus speaks and deals with us still today in the Word. And where the Word is, there is the Spirit, living and active. The word of forgiveness in Jesus’s name is the living Word.

“These things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me” Exaudi 2022
May 29, 2022 Jesus has not failed you and will not forget you or any of those whom He has called by name in Holy Baptism. He is even now moving heaven and earth to restore and renew your trust in His Word. He overthrows anyone or anything that you have given fear, love, or trust. God will be your God, and you will be His people. He sends the Promise of the Father to you to call you back home, to gather you again to the Christian church, to open your eyes again to the only way of life and escape from death, and to set you apart again as trusting people of God.

"God’s Word promises to give, sustain, preserve, and deliver your faith" Rogate 2022
The life of the Christian is the life of prayer—morning and evening, noontime and mealtime, Sabbath, and weekday. As we have received the implanted Word, we pray that Word back to Jesus. St. Luke tells us that the first Christians “continued in…the prayers.” So, we begin with the prayer Jesus taught us, “Our Father,” and grow into the morning, evening, and meal prayers of our youth, and then blossom into the whole liturgical prayer life of the Church. We learn to pray the Catechism, the Psalms, the traditional collects, the hymns, spiritual songs, and the liturgies of the Church. Every time you gather with fellow Christians to pray, you continue in the faith received from Jesus.

"Whatever God gives is a good gift from Him because His word of truth says so" Cantate 2022
We can no more be destroyed than God can be made a liar. We belong to Him and are held to Him by His word of truth. We are the first fruits. There is a big promise in that. The first of the harvest was offered to God as a token of the whole harvest, acknowledged as belonging to Him and as a gift from Him. To say first fruits means there are more gifts to follow. With every gift, God pushes our hands wider open to receive a still larger gift. The bother with us is that we often hold our hands open just enough for little gifts in fear that if the gifts get too big they may overwhelm us. The gifts may begin to take us over, and we may not be able to manage them.

"Jesus points His disciples forward to that death as a birth of new life" Jubilate 2022
We are not stray, inexplicable pieces but together with Christ, alive, in motion, sent to live and share the life of Christ, growing, changing, shaping ourselves to each person's need so we may have life and have it more abundantly, the joy that cannot be taken away. Remember your Baptism. Live your Baptism. You were born again; new life is given. You are being born each day. Each day pregnant with the next, even the days that seem to deny you and God, for we, too, are going to the Father. Quickened by the Spirit, we go with Christ, who promised, "I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you." (John 16:22).
