IT SEEMS another nation in the Middle East erupts with each passing day. Libya has nearly devolved into a civil war, and the Western media seems focused on the protests as struggles for freedom, and maybe they are. There is one aspect that is overlooked, however, which is that the first protests in Tunisia and Egypt were sparked by sharply rising food prices, which are being driven up by commodity traders — most of whom, we'd bet, don't have to devote a big percentage of their income on loaves of bread.Also: Iranian warships in the Med for the first time in 30 years; Saudi/Iranian showdown in Bahrain; CIA agent arrested in Pakistan; and the US paid millions for bogus intelligence software — and now covers it up by claiming "national security".

WE WRAP up the week with a look at the latest from the Middle East: Egypt grants Iran permission to take two warships through the Suez Canal (one allegedly carrying long-range missiles for Hezbollah) and moves 4,000 troops into the Sinai; unrest continues in Kuwait, Yeman, Jordan, Libya, and Bahrain — home of the U.S. Fifth Fleet.Also: the patterns of history; a magma surprise; Tea Party betrayal; and Sam T. PROTESTS IN Egypt continued for a fourth day Friday, this time with the assistance of the Muslim Brotherhood. This is disturbing; a government potentially dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood could undo the 30 years of peace between Egypt and Israel.For background, see John Loftus' article "The Muslim Brotherhood, Nazis and Al-Qaeda".And late this afternoon comes a report from The Telegraph that "[t]he American government secretly backed leading figures behind the Egyptian uprising who have been planning “regime change” for the past three years".Also: IARPA solicits bids for the Sirius Project, and Lady GaGa's new perfume smells like Aleister Crowley.

PROTESTS CONTINUE on the streets of Tunisia, Egypt, and now Yemen as hacktivists use social media to organize flash mobs. In Tunisia, it's now semi-officially called the Jasmine Revolution, which echoes the Rose, Orange, Tulip, Cedar, and Green revolutions of recent years — some of which have been funded by Western interests — like George Soros' Open Society Institute and the US government.In Egypt, late word is that the Muslim Brotherhood has joined the protesters opposed to the rule of aging President Hosni Mubarak. This could get interesting and not in a good way.Also: VX nerve agent goes missing in Utah; DHS nervous about spy drones over US cities; and Todd Bentley commissions "burning ones".

PRESIDENT OBAMA gave a pretty strong SOTU address last night, as performances go. Content-wise, it was what presidents usually deliver: promises of lots of government for absolutely no cost to you.Elsewhere: Italian cops find $20 billion in phony US bonds; World Economic Forum opens; "kingdom" economic summit coming; and Chinese high-speed rail in California.

AT LEAST 11 police officers around the U.S. have been shot since Sunday. Some law enforcement officials believe that officers are being targeted.Also: Obama officials caught lying about WikiLeaks; water could soon be world's major catalyst for war; and progressives declare words like "target", "crosshairs" and "lock, stock, and barrel" too offensive for prime time.

WHILE RUSSIA deals with the horrific aftermath of what looks like a terrorist bombing at its largest airport, tensions in the Middle East rise with news of Iranian warships on the way to the eastern Mediterranean to support what some are calling "Hezbollah's coup". The powers and principalities are busy behind the scenes.Meanwhile: Chicago PD develops a department of pre-crime; Rahm Emanuel kicked off Chicago's mayoral ballot; and atheists not necessarily opposed to Intelligent Design.

INTERNET DOOM seekers have picked up on a story from Australia about the red supergiant star Betelgeuse and spun it into a dire warning of impending destruction in 2012. First, it's based on a careless reading of the story; second, if it does happen, it might not be for another million years. Personally, we're more concerned with the threat posed by the Green Bay Packers' offense.Also: Yellowstone caldera bulges; Dubai islands for the rich sink; and Judge John Roll died a hero.

ONE YEAR after the disastrous earthquake, Haiti has all but disappeared from the public's awareness. That's good for somebody; one year on, only 10% of the aid money donated to help rebuild Haiti has been spent there, and only 5% of the rubble in Port-au-Prince has been cleared.Also: rumor of Nelson Mandela's death unfounded; Blackwater founder backs mercenaries in Somalia; and the US government tests GPS defense.

RICK WARREN'S "Daniel Plan" demonstrates again his willingness to bend scripture to his will. We remind you that the real Daniel plan was about remaining obedient to God's word, not maintaining a heart-healthy diet.Also: "Baby Doc" returns to Haiti; bees fly out to sea; US Joint Special Ops Command stacked with Knights of Malta; and the Taiwanese create a video parody of Chinese President Hu's visit to Washington, D.C.

THE SUN rose two days too early in western Greenland this year, according to a report in an Austrian newspaper (English language article at the Daily Mail). Experts quoted in the report blame a huge meltoff of the Greenland ice sheet.Elsewhere: rebellion in Chile and Tunisia; American travelers losing their laptops to Homeland Security; WikiLeaks blamed by The Guardian for its own leak; mysterious cattle deaths in Wisconsin; and political maneuverings in Lebanon and Israel.

LAST NIGHT'S memorial for the victims of the shooting in Tucson felt more like a political rally than a somber remembrance. In fact, thousands of t-shirts with the slogan "Together We Thrive" were distributed to the attendees. At the very least, it seems like a very odd tribute to the dead. Don't miss the opening blessing (link opens YouTube video).Elsewhere, Rick Warren has partnered with three doctors, including Oprah's favorite Dr. Oz (all professing the benefits of Eastern mysticism and, in Oz's case, influenced by the 18th century "Christian" mystic Emanuel Swedenborg), to create a purpose-driven diet plan. WHILE THE media focuses on the shootings in Tucson Saturday, a crisis brews in the Middle East. The government in Lebanon has collapsed as Hezbollah ministers resigned. Indictments naming Hezbollah officials in the 2005 assassination of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri were "hours or days" away from being turned over to a pre-trial judge.The USS Enterprise carrier strike group, with 6,000 American service personnel, has been redirected to the eastern Mediterranean. As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted yesterday, there are now an estimated 60,000 rockets — all made in Iran and Syria — now pointed at Israel.Also: Iran building bunkers for Hamas in Gaza; a brief look at the prophesied war of Psalm 83; and more mysterious animal deaths.

FEAR CAN be a useful tool to a government. People who are intimidated are more easily led. We look at how the U.S. government is using its power to discourage dissent — we mean serious dissent, not the pro-wrestling-in-designer-clothing that passes for political analysis on cable news.Also: headless bodies in Acapulco; leader of Saint Death cult arrested; and where our true allegiance lies.

TONIGHT'S SHOW focuses on the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and 19 others at a Safeway in Tucson. We pray for the recovery of Rep. Giffords and the wounded, for their families and the families of the six who were killed.The incident had barely been reported when conservative political talk was already being blamed for the incident. Right-wing bloggers very quickly pointed out that a liberal supporter of Rep. Giffords had posted something inflammatory about her just two days before the shooting. The blame game distracts us from the true powers and principalities responsible for this evil act.We look at some of the unanswered questions and the potential consequences of the shooting.

WE LOVE technology, but we'd be naive not to recognize how it's being used against us. For example, Apple filed a patent application in August for a phone that monitors its user's voice print, heartbeat, and facial features — and compares pictures of its surroundings and recordings of a vehicle's engine with ones in memory! — to determine whether it's been stolen.While this sounds like a great security feature, it doesn't take much imagination to see how useful this is to a national security apparatus that doesn't need a warrant to download this data from your phone company.Also: a million pigs buried alive in South Korea; the son of the Shah of Iran commits suicide; and Ted Williams, the prodigal son with the golden voice, returns home.

HAS THE "God particle" been found? One science blogger reports rumors that the Tevatron particle collider near Chicago has identified a light Higgs. Scientists at Tevatron say the rumors are false.Here's a bit of interesting speculation: what if the rumors are true — and the discovery is responsible for the growing number of mysterious animal deaths all over the world (link opens a Google Map with locations and links to news reports)?Also: more weirdness connected to the death of John Wheeler; Bill Daley goes back to D.C.; Harold Camping predicts the end of the world (again); and news about the fire that destroyed the home of Tom and Nita Horn.

WELCOME TO 2011! Time may be shorter than we think: a number of Christians, following the lead of a radio host, are convinced that Judgment Day is scheduled for May 21, 2011.We respectfully disagree. Time is short, yes, but a lot has to happen before we arrive at the Day of the Lord.Also: mysterious bird and fish deaths; "black alerts" at U.K. hospitals over flu outbreak; angry white (Christian) guys; and Glenn Beck dropped by WOR/New York.

PFC. BRADLEY Manning has been kept in solitary confinement for most of 2010, allowed only one hour a day out of his cell even though he hasn't yet been tried and convicted of a crime. Is Manning a patsy, a convenient excuse to criminalize investigative journalism and a clampdown on the Internet? THAT'S THE question of the day. THERE ARE days when the headlines make you wish for Christ's return even more than usual. Today, we discuss the convicted murderer who posts to Facebook from prison, security contractor DynCorp's latest link to the sex trade (read the report by Frontline on Afghan "dancing boys", and watch the Frontline program online free at PBS.org), the bizarre rape and stabbing in Vacaville, California, and the Federal Aviation Administration, which has somehow managed to lose track of who owns a third of the aircraft in the United States.Keep that in mind the next time you're asked to step in front of an airport X-ray machine.

TWO YEARS ago, a BBC cameraman caught a bizarre scene on tape: twin 40-year-old sisters from Sweden walking along the shoulder of the M6 motorway who deliberately ran into traffic when approached by police. This began a bizarre series of events that led to one of the sisters hospitalized after being run over by a truck and the other stabbing a man to death, running from police while hitting herself on the head with a hammer and jumping from a 40-foot bridge onto another roadway!And then last month, 29-year old Australian twins who tried to commit suicide together at a shooting range near Columbine High School in Colorado. Just what is going on here?Also: DHS wants you to spy at Wal-Mart; 13-year-old girl raped and stabbed in California; and judge sides with Virginia against health care reform.

THE MILITARY is a step closer to battlefield holograms, an announcement that brings to mind the classic conspiracy theory (in the worst sense of the term) Project Blue Beam, or the more recent Face of Allah and Voice of God weapons. THE WIKILEAKS story continues to build, even though the more we poke at its roots, the more it looks like something other than a real security breach. Consider: the man who ratted out Pfc. Bradley Manning, Adrian Lamo, is a gray hat hacker who turned Manning in after spending nine involuntary days in California's mental health system for Asperger's Syndrome.Now, we're not disparaging anyone who genuinely suffers from the condition, only pointing out that a loose definition of Asperger's can be applied to almost anyone who was ever described as a geek. (And if that's grounds for institutionalizing someone, then we're a phone call away from being locked up.)Consider also that WikiLeaks' founder Julian Assange is accused of a sex crime in Sweden (not rape, as has been reported, but for something called "sex by surprise" — i.e., a malfunctioning condom) by a woman who apparently worked with a CIA-linked group in Cuba. And note that Lamo admittedly works for a semi-secret government contractor called Project Vigilant.All in all, this looks like a controlled leak or an intelligence turf war. The question, as always: who benefits?

RATHER THAN repeat ourselves tonight by doing a show and then another show, we've decided to just take it on the road and feature the hour we were honored to spend as guests on Raiders News Live with our friends, Tom and Nita Horn — and, of course, the "Wild Man of the Ozarks", Joe Ardis.Tom and company pretty much gave us free rein to discuss today's NASA "astrobiology" discovery, the proposed Edgar Mitchell/Billy Meier forum, alien disclosure, the alleged Gulf of Aden stargate, transhumanism, pandemics, and our panoptic society. It's a wild hour, and the high point may be Sharon's speculation about why DARPA's X-37B space drone has been orbiting Earth for nine months.

DR. EDGAR Mitchell is reportedly in talks with the US representative of Billy Meieir for a first of its kind public forum with the famed UFO contactee and "prophet". Given that Dr. Mitchell is co-founder of a leading New Age research group, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, we're not surprised.Also: Israel finds natural gas in Leviathan; the government spins Wikileaks; and the stargate under the Gulf of Aden.

APPARENTLY IT'S not enough to scan us at airports, sporting events, or while we're driving around town, the government is enlisting our banks, ISPs, and childrens' bus drivers in the total surveillance state. THE MOST Googled man in America today is apparently one John of God, a medium who's been "curing" people for decades while channeling some 30 entities, including — supposedly — the founder of the Jesuit Order, Ignatius of Loyola. John was the beneficiary of a puff piece on Oprah yesterday, hence the interest.Also: George Soros bankrolls European CFR; European firm banks on smallpox, Ebola, Marburg, and HIV; and Orlando airport opts out of TSA.

NAKED SCANNERS aren't just for airports anymore! The Department of Homeland Security now owns 500 mobile X-ray vans that can see you while you drive or relax at home — through 14 inches of steel!Speaking of DHS, questions are raised about the safety of its new biodefense lab. Also: "devil attack" at school in Trinidad, tensions between Nicaragua and Costa Rica, and EU fracturing over economic policy.

REP. CHARLES RANGEL (D-N.Y.) put on quite a show for the House Ethics Committee today. Our guess is he'll ride this as long as possible, but remember — ultimately, it's a distraction.Also: Michael Chertoff and George Soros shill for scanners; Yemen rumbles; Swilley's "god"; and Sam Dachshund sings.

REBELLION AGAINST the full-body X-ray scanners at American airports continues to grow. Apparently fighting terror in the air means a choice between risking skin cancer or a sexual assault by a TSA employee.Also: media continues to sell the "missile was a plane" meme; the first study of links between pesticides and disappearing bees ready to begin; and big money backs a treatment for smallpox — which the World Health Organization declared eradicated more than 30 years ago!

SHE SOUNDS loony, but self-proclaimed Pleiadian mother Colleen Thomas isn't the only one who looks for alien intervention to solve all our problems. A family in Miami, members of the Raelian UFO cult, starved to death in April while waiting for "the Elohim" to beam down some groceries.Also: a cruise missile in a shipping box (thanks to Kimberly for the tip!); Charlotte police lose radios twice in a week; and Amazon.com pulls e-book praising pedophiles.And on this Veteran's Day, please listen to this 2006 interview with the author of Expendable Elite, Lt. THE GOVERNMENT insists that the missile off the California coast Monday night was an airplane. GOOD NEWS from the FBI: 884 people were arrested over the last three days in a roundup of traffickers in child prostitutes.Also: the Vatican warns its bishops against a secretive sect that prays to angels; a border dispute caused by Google; and novel uses for human urine.

MOUNT MERAPI in Indonesia continues to rumble. According to German geologists, this is serious: they estimate that there "three times more magma [under Mount Merapi] than what was ejected by the Indonesian volcano Tambora in 1815 – the biggest eruption in the last 10,000 years".Also: American takes out a suspected Palestinian terrorist in Gaza; Beck's new book (yeah, right); and Olbermann suspended indefinitely.

PRESIDENT OBAMA heads for India with an impressive collection of military hardware and 200 leading CEOs. India, a gracious host, is removing coconuts from the trees and deploying monkey catchers near the president's travel route.Also: TimeWave Zero; Mount Merapi rumbles; and Californians have to do without their Happy Meals and welfare psychics.

AS THE American Midwest endures what's being called an "inland hurricane", we look at the winds of change and evil swirling around the globe: war preparations in the Middle East; the IMF puts the squeeze on Pakistan; an earthquake, tsunami, and volcano in Indonesia; and Benjamin Creme continues to spread the myth of Maitreya.We also note with sadness the passing of Zecharia Sitchin, who died October 9th.
