THERE IS no greater threat to the Christian church in America today than the New Age movement. Why? Because it's just a repackaged version of the old lie, "ye shall be as gods".Sadly, this lie has wormed its way into our churches. Too many believers are unaware of the many faces this lie presents, from contemplative prayer to political activism where temporal power is justified as a means to an end.

WHILE THE world watches the Balloon Boy story, we take a look at a few other things happening behind the scenes. In Iran, a homicide bomber killed 31 people in an attack on the country's Islamic Revolutionary Guards. Iran blames the US and the UK, which is to be expected, but we note that ABC's Brian Ross reported two years ago that the CIA was at the very least encouraging and advising Jundullah, the Al Qaeda-linked Sunni militant group that's claimed responsibility for the attack.

IN THE spring of 2006, we interviewed Navy veteran J Fields about the plight of his landlord, journalist and former congressional staffer Susan Lindauer, who'd been charged two years earlier with being an unregistered agent of the government of Saddam Hussein. (You can listen to the interview, presented in three parts, by clicking here.)Susan was arrested in March of 2004 after she volunteered to testify before a blue ribbon commission on pre-war intelligence on Iraq. Lindauer approached two commission members, Trent Lott of Mississippi and John McCain of Arizona, with her offer of testimony about intelligence. It was after she made the offer to testify that she was arrested and charged.Susan claims that her only crime was trying to persuade her cousin, Andy Card (then chief of staff to President Bush), that war against Iraq was inadvisable and unnecessary. She based her opinion on information she claims to have gathered as a liaison to the governments of Iraq and Libya while serving as an NOC (non-official cover) asset for the CIA and DIA.She also claims that her CIA handler, Dr. Richard Fuisz, confirms information gathered from other sources — Michael Riconosciuto, via Cheri Seymour's The Last Circle, and former DIA operative Lester K. THE TITLE of tonight's show is a reference to the conspiracy investigated by journalist Danny Casolaro, a scheme was so vast and complex that Casolaro called it "the Octopus". Casolaro was found dead in a hotel room in West Virginia in August of 1991, his wrists slashed 10 to 12 times. His death was, of course, ruled a suicide.

PRESIDENT OBAMA delivered speeches to three groups of globalists this week: the United Nations General Assembly, the G20 Summit, and the Clinton Global Initiative (albeit by satellite). Interestingly, it was at the G20 that President Obama decided to reveal Iran's second uranium enrichment facility, not the UN Security Council. Why is that?

A SECRETIVE religious group that wields power in Washington, D.C. and other world capitals -- sounds like the basis for Dan Brown's next novel, but it's real. Jeff Sharlet, author of The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power, has been following this group for years, even living at The Family's headquarters for a time. What he found is a group that justifies its pursuit of political power by claiming that it's for the kingdom of God.

EVANGELICAL CHRISTIANS are being coopted by the New Age movement, and most don't even know it. Much of the reading we've been doing this week has revolved around that fact, and a good part of tonight's show explores some of the evidence. In short, dominionists, emerging churchers, and ecumenical groups are all aiming for the same goal as New Agers: heaven on Earth. Which may explain, for example, why influential New Ager Paul Temple, founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, donates so much money to the secretive and politically connected evangelical group The Family.

WE THOUGHT we'd name tonight's show to match the web page our hosting company serves up half the time lately. PREPAREDNESS, AS any Boy Scout knows, is important. Even the ancient Canaanites knew it, as evidenced by the recently discovered 26 foot high walls built with 4-5 ton boulders in Jerusalem. The walls connected to towers with walls 12-and-a-half feet thick, all to guard the path to the city's only water supply, the Gihon Spring. So who or what was such a threat in 1800 B.C. that you needed 26-foot walls to keep them out?

AFTER YEARS of research and writing, Russ Dizdar's long awaited book The Black Awakening is due for release. While this may cover old ground for long-time P.I.D. Radio listeners, we think it's good to revisit his work, which puts a human face on the supernatural war we're in -- whether we realize it or want to accept it.

NO, HEARING voices definitely isn't a good sign. After learning about the horrific story of Angelo Mendoza, the man who's accused of biting out the eyes of his 4-year-old son, we noticed a low-level meme running through the news: literally dozens of stories in recent weeks about crimes from murder to rape to arson to suicide allegedly committed by people who claim to hear voices. Our belief is that at least some of these people really are hearing voices, and those voices aren't coming from beings loyal to God.

AFTER SOME thoughts on the vote by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to allow openly gay non-celibate pastors, we spent most of the hour exploring the spiritual symbolism in the ABC series Lost. The show is far more than just a well-crafted dramatic series with strong sci fi/supernatural overtones, it's rich with symbolism that relates to the spiritual war between good and evil.

VON GLITSCHKA is a successful freelance illustrator and graphic designer with an edgy style, sort of the antithesis of Thomas Kinkade. As such, he occasionally catches criticism from those who find his beliefs intolerant as well as from those who find his work too, well, edgy for comfort. THE TITLE of tonight's show is a reference to an episode of BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who which a religious order that dressed like ninja monks -- Adherents of the Repeated Meme. It's a fitting title for the major media, which keeps reminds us that the ranks of militia groups are swelling, hate crimes are on the rise, and a record number of threats are being recorded against President Barack Obama -- all because disgruntled conservative (Christian) white people can't find jobs, tolerate gays, or accept that an African-American sits in the Oval Office.

WE DON'T mean human blood. God was pretty clear on shedding the precious bodily fluids of our brothers and sisters. But the shed blood of Jesus of Nazareth, which is the key to the Christian faith, is missing in most churches today. That's why it's so easy to be distracted by leadership conferences with big name speakers and ecumenical movements that preach peace, tolerance, and good works.

BLESSED AGAIN with company in the bunker tonight, we delve deeper into the archives for another foundational interview. This is from December of 2005, a talk with researcher and author Peter Goodgame about his excellent book Red Moon Rising.

TONIGHT'S SHOW is a quick roundup of news that caught our attention, starting with a recommendation by some medical experts that Gardisil, the vaccine against the Human Papilloma Virus, be administered to boys. Also, evil alien memes in TV and movies; the White House Military Office now in charge of continuity of government; and the "son of Krakatoa" is rumbling.

TODAY'S SHOW covered a range of topics, but most of our time was spent discussing genetically modified crops and the difficulty in finding out how GM foods affect our health. Meanwhile, H1N1 vaccines are being fast-tracked, with human trials only intended to determine dosage -- not whether the vaccines are actually safe.

JOHN CONYERS (D-Mich.), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, mocked fellow lawmakers who insist on actually reading legislation before they vote. The message is clear: don't bother with the details, just trust us. We'll see if the American public's opposition to the proposed nationalization of health care stays strong or if something comes along (World Series? Football? Washington scandal?) to distract us.
