MOUNTAINS ARE shaking. A massive earthquake has left over 2,400 dead in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Tibet at last count, and that number will almost certainly grow in the hours ahead.Meanwhile, a volcano in Chile has unexpectedly erupted for the first time in 40 years, spewing a cloud of ash that's reached southern Brazil.What's more, people spotted something that looked like a giant in the cloud and some locals are convinced that it was a manifestation of the god of the volcano.This isn't surprising. Mountains and volcanoes have been considered the abode of gods since the dawn of time. In fact, Eden was on "the holy mountain of God" (Ezekiel 28:13-14). THE AMERICAN public voted this week and swept the Republican Party to its largest majority in Congress since World War II. PRESIDENT OBAMA has appointed an "Ebola Czar", but rather than a medical professional the president selected Ron Klain, an attorney and career Democratic Party operative. Will Ebola respect an injunction?

THE EBOLA outbreak continues to spread. A health care worker in Dallas has tested positive for the virus, and a clinic in Boston reports that a patient who just returned from Liberia has been taken to a hospital. Over 4,000 are dead in west Africa, and that number may be low.

HE JUST won't go away. Those of us old enough to remember Yasser Arafat are probably somewhat surprised that the former leader of the Palestinian Authority, who died in 2004, is back in the news. The British medical journal Lancet published an article last week that supports a claim by Al Jazeera that Arafat may have been poisoned with the highly toxic radioactive isotope polonium-210.But wait — not so fast! It appears that the Lancet article doesn't quite say what Al Jazeera said it said. Also, counter-terrorism experts were saying a year ago that researchers couldn't have found enough 210Po to prove their case because it has a half-life of about 138 days — so any polonium that was found must have been planted.This story isn't over yet.Also: Hollywood's portrayal of God; Dr. I.D.E. POPE FRANCIS will consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary tomorrow, October 13. A statue of Our Lady of Fatima, normally kept at the Chapel of Apparitions in Fatima, Portugal, is en route to Rome for the ceremony, which takes place on the 96th anniversary of the so-called Miracle of the Sun.Interestingly, the Pope has already consecrated his pontificate to Our Lady of Fatima, in a ceremony following mass on May 13 of this year, the 96th anniversary of the first apparition at Fatima.We don't doubt people saw something at Fatima, but it wasn't Mary.Also: The Vampire Father of Papua New Guinea; teen exorcists; massive cyclone hits India; choosing the Mark; and Chris White debunks Caesar's Messiah (see www.CaesarsMessiahDebunked.com).
