S4 Ep 305#305: Lessons Learned From Podcasting Hiatus
#305: Lessons Learned From Podcasting Hiatus In this episode, I am sharing some thoughts I learned while I was on a forced podcasting hiatus for over a month while my podcast changed platforms. These lessons continue to hit home as I continue to embrace all aspects of entrepreneurship and all the moving balls that keep firing at us. In today's episode we discuss:1) Entrepreneurship is one of the biggest learning curves I have ever been on. It requires radical responsibility, ownership, letting go of control, asking for and allowing myself to receive help, consistent self-care practices, implementing boundaries, and rinsing and repeating this process daily. 2) I learned that I truly do love this aspect of my business. Not everyone will agree with it, and that's ok. It is our job to follow what we love and what brings us joy. 3) I re-learned the power of surrender and trusting the process, especially when that process doesn't make sense. S4 Ep 304#304: Are You Dress Rehearsing Tragedy?
#304: Are You Dress Rehearsing Tragedy? In this Friday Facts episode, I am sharing some thoughts that I heard on Brene Brown's Netflix documentary, "The Call To Courage". There were so many points that hit home and when I am in a space of needing to shift my mindset, this is one of my go-to audios to plug into my ear. I become super intentional about what I listen to and what I plug into. I wanted to share some of my takeaways here. In today's episode we discuss:1) Dress rehearsing tragedy, is immediately letting your mind go to the worst-case scenario. It is based on old subconscious patterns and programming to look for all the things that could potentially go wrong to be "ready for it." This is also a trauma response for the body. 2) This ties in with a quote I heard recently from Robin Sharma, "if your trauma is deep then your reaction can be a tendency to overreact, and if your reaction is hysterical then the trauma is historical." This means it goes WAY back and is something you need to commit to doing the work to re-program. This also means you are likely to dress rehearse tragedy on a regular basis. 3) To change this programming requires that you interrupt the pattern, anchor in something you are grateful for, and look for the joy. Joy is actually really scary if you are a person who has lived through a lot of trauma because it means that "it might not last", so your brain starts to prep for the dress rehearsal of tragedy. S4 Ep 302#302: The Importance of Owning Your Story
#302: The Importance of Owning Your Story In this "Monday mindset'' episode, we are talking about getting what it means to own your story and why it is so important to learn how to own your story. We all have stories, we pick them up, we carry them and we let those stories define us. We also let these stories determine what we say yes and no to and the opportunities we allow ourselves to say yes to. You deserve to learn how to own your story because if you don't own it, it owns you. In this episode, we discuss:1. We all have stories, in all areas of our lives such as money, relationships, business, health, luck etc. These stories determine whether we feel or believe that we are worthy of opportunities or creating any change in our lives. These stories can define us if we let them. If your story is stopping you from living your life, from letting go, from showing up, from being vulnerable, then it actually owns you. If your story is bringing you shame or guilt then you owe it to yourself and the others in your life to learn how to own it. You can stand on it or live in it. If it owns you, it controls you. It can be that simple, and that is where freedom lives. Let's take it back to ownership. What are you taking ownership or responsibility for that actually isn't yours? When you take responsibility for someone else's choices you are preventing them from experiencing the consequences of their own choices. Plus this is energy you are not using to create change in your own life, and this will have a bigger ripple effect in their life. Unwrap or unpack your story. This is where it all starts, and this is how you unwrap it to look at it differently. This is how you see the patterns, lessons, gifts, experiences, and it helps you to see the purpose for all of the pain and experiences you have lived through. Someone is praying for the solutions that you are holding onto. As a coach in the online space, you owe it to your clients to tap into who you are and what you have learned from the lessons of your story. You can only authentically connect with people on lessons you have learned firsthand. Know your lane because that is what you have experienced. This is where you are the expert and this is how your people will find you, they are literally looking for you. S4 Ep 301#301 EFT - What the Heck Is It?
#301: EFT - What the Heck Is It? In this Friday Facts episode, EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique. If you have recently done the Blocks to Owning Your Story Quiz, you might have come across this technique, also known as tapping, as I share some tapping videos and solutions with you in the results emails. I want to use this episode to share one of the tools that I have used in my own healing journey that I have found to be so powerful! In today's episode we discuss:1) EFT is a modality I recently learned when I became NLP certified. NLP is a model for success. It's the blueprint for success and the language you learn to speak to talk to your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is where 95+% of your thoughts and beliefs are formed. Think of the iceberg picture and all the work we never see below the surface. To access your subconscious mind, you must learn how to speak to it and this is exactly what NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is. 2) What is EFT? EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a therapy technique loosely based on the techniques of acupuncture or acupressure. It uses the same basic energy meridians in the body to eliminate physical, emotional and mental issues. With EFT we balance the energy system of the body to relieve issues. 3) We receive up to 2.3 billion bits per second of information into our world at any one time and we only take in what is important to us. We then apply our own filters, we delete, distort or generalize the information. We decide what is important and this depends on where we are at at any point in time. We do this based on things like time, mood, language, memories, decisions, beliefs, values and identity. This represents our internal representation of the information we receive. This internal representation of how we see things creates a picture in our minds of what we are receiving and our physiology creates our state and our state determines our behaviour and that determines our results. Our state is incredibly important to how we perceive the information. 4) WE tap in the fear and tap out the desires, this is how we create lasting change in our subconscious mind. Depending on what we are experiencing, we may need to repeat this processes like EFT multiple times each day. S4 Ep 299299: How Fast Can You Get Back To Neutral?
#299: How Fast Can You Get Back To Neutral? In this "Monday mindset'' episode, we are talking about getting back to neutral, and how fast we can get ourselves back to neutral. Neutral is the place where we are not reactive, where we learn how to respond instead of react, and how there's lots of room for all of us to learn this skill. Especially in this heightened time of judgment, scrutiny, differing opinions and fear, it is easy to find ourselves reacting to everything that is happening around us. This does not mean that we are not aware, not informed etc., it means that we are using our energy to live our best lives and share kindness, compassion and give back to humanity. In this episode, we discuss:1. What is neutral? This is the space where we are not reacting to everything around us, especially in heightened or negative energetic ways. Living in neutral is the best use of our energy and it is how we conserve our energy to use it for creating change in our lives and positive impact for others. Where can you give yourself space or a chance to make it back to neutral? Where are your self-care practices, who do you spend your time and energy with, and where are your necessary boundaries? Do you need a break from social media, from people who are not filling your cup up, or where do you need to put more boundaries in place? What is your default system? We talked about this in episode #297, The Blocks to Owning Your Story, and you can take the quiz to learn a little bit more about yourself. Wherever your default system is, that is where you can be aware of how you typically respond to situations, especially stressful situations, and then through this awareness you can put specific practices into place to change your response. Lastly, let's take it back to ownership. What are you taking ownership or responsibility for that actually isn't yours? How can you shift this and instead take ownership for your own responses and take your reactions back to neutral faster? S4 Ep 297#297: The Blocks to Owning Your Story
#297: The Blocks to Owning Your Story In this "Monday mindset'' episode, we are talking about the 4 blocks to owning your story. After coaching women for the past 5 years on owning their stories, I have found that we all tend to fall in between one of these 4 blocks. Identifying and owning your block is the best way to learn how to move through them. If you want the freebie gift of learning to identify your block, connect on the link in the show notes to sign up and be the first to receive it. In this episode, we discuss:1. The Victim Block – this is where we ask why, we keep ourselves stuck in our stories, we are looking for a reason or a justification. Learning how to change our questions from why to what and get into action can create the changes to stop being stuck as a victim in the story. The Fighter/Perfectionist Block– this is where we put our head down, work harder to control the world, burnout over and over, have ridiculous expectations of ourselves, and resist asking for help. Learning to let go of the control, focus on our own actions, ask for help and be open to receiving the help can shift this blockage. The People Pleaser Block – this is where everyone else is their top priority, they say yes to everyone else, they lose themselves in the process, they have a lack of worthiness and typically zero boundaries in place. Learning to put their needs first, fill their cup first and use the overflow for others, and then understand the importance of boundaries is the only way that they can learn to move through this block. The Hider Block – this is the professional smiler, the one saying, "I'm good", they are a natural deflector, takes the conversation off of themselves, very afraid of the judgment of others, and afraid to let others in. Learning how to embrace vulnerability, show up and allow ourselves to be seen, then allows others to be our support. They have been waiting for us to show up. S4 Ep 296#296: Are You Using Your Superpower?
#296: Are You Using Your Superpower? In this Friday Facts episode, I want to talk about our superpowers. You have a superpower, everyone has one or more. It likely comes from something you have lived through, the experiences that have stretched you and challenged you to grow. Your superpowers are what comes easy for you and what you can see in others. The real questions are, "what is your superpower", and "are you using it?" In today's episode we discuss:1) What is a superpower? It is something you know because you have learned it firsthand. It is likely something that your friends tell you that you are really good at, or they come to you for advice about, yet you probably judge yourself too much to see it. It is the way we judge ourselves that holds us back. 2) When you feel stuck, what matters is how long you feed those doubts is how long you are keeping them alive. 3) Surround yourself with people who will lift you up when you don't believe in yourself and the ones who will call you out on your sh*t when you need it. Leave no room for judgement because when you are judging yourself you are not showing up in the way that you are capable of. S4 Ep 295#295: Let Life Love You with Misty Tripoli
#295: Let Life Love You with Misty Tripoli Today we are speaking with the Creator of The Groove Method™ and Body Groove and Founder of The World Groove Movement, Misty Tripoli. Misty is a Truth Warrior. Misty has been a movement and dance addict her whole life. In the early 2000's, at the top of her game and under contract with NIKE as a Global Elite Athlete, Director of a top health club in California and in demand working with companies like Reebok, Sketchers, YogaWorks and Equinox she was also severely bulimic, overworked and exhausted. She cracked. When the illusion came crashing down she woke up to something extremely powerful and liberating: the Groove Truths. From here she launched her global company The World Groove Movement and shares her story and passion for movement, inspiring millions to come together and get their Groove on! She continues to travel the world igniting communities and encouraging hearts to come together to be authentic, creative and have as much fun as humanly possibleIn this episode we discuss: 1) In the darkest moments of Misty's life, when she was losing her identity and trying to keep up the facade of being a top trainer and struggling with bulimia, she had to focus on what her soul needed and it was dance and meditation. When she got quiet and let herself heal, she was able to hear the pull toward dance and meditation and healed her bulimia. 2) Living in the belief that life is here to support you and life loves you puts you into the state of being open and receiving all that is available for you. 3) We can dance before we can walk so at the core we are all capable of dancing, and it is such a release for our bodies to be able to move and dance. Try a Body Groove video on YouTube and it will remind you how good it feels to move in your body. 4) We chatted on the 5 universal truths. 1 - Nobody cares and if they do, it's their problem. 2 - You are unique and not a copy of someone else, so do things that work for you. 3 - There's no right or wrong way to dance. 4 - No one is going to do it for you, no one is coming to save you. 5 - You don't know anything until you apply it.
S4 Ep 294#294: Trusting the Process When *&%& Hits the Fan
#294: Trusting the Process When *&%& Hits the Fan In this "Monday mindset'' episode, how to trust the process when *&*$ hits the fan. It is great to believe in trusting the process, knowing it's all happening for you when you can take a global view of your life or when you are on the other side of a challenge. When you are in the thick of it is an entirely different story. Let's talk about how you can have faith when faith actually makes no sense at all. In today's episode we discuss:1) Stop asking why, or asking questions that don't serve you. Victim questions serve no purpose at all and only keep you stuck in the moment and all of the emotions that go with that moment. 2) Ask what is this trying to teach me instead of why is this happening to me? What lessons do I need to embody to create the changes I need to make?3) Reach out and ask for help. Time block your schedule to build in down time before burnout, especially if you are dealing with a difficult time in your life. 4) Surrender and let it go. If it is not yours to control then it is not yours to own. S4 Ep 293#293: Authenticity Is Calling Yourself Out Too
#293: Authenticity Is Calling Yourself Out Too In this Friday Facts episode, I want to talk about authenticity and how it is not just about the person you show to others, and sharing that authentic version. It is also about calling yourself out on your own BS and not giving yourself a pass for the actions or behaviours that you know aren't in alignment with who you are and the direction you desire your life to move in. In today's episode we discuss:1) According to Brene Brown, "Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen." When we don't live in this space (or don't allow ourselves to), we are stunting our own growth process. Real growth doesn't come from finger pointing at others. It comes from looking at the mirror, recognizing our triggers and owning what is ours to own. That is authenticity. 2) Every relationship we have, stems from the relationship we are constantly building with ourselves. The work always starts with us and we always go first. So if we don't think that we have real/authentic people in our lives, then it starts with asking ourselves if we are being honest, authentic and real with ourselves. S4 Ep 292#292: Embrace and Shine Your Light with Meghan Weir
#292: Embrace and Shine Your Light with Meghan Weir Today we are speaking with Spiritual Success Coach, Meghan Weir. Meghan is a highly trained, trauma-informed Life & Success Coach, NLP, EFT and T.I.M.E Techniques Practitioner, Hypnotherapist and Retreat Leader, and retired Addiction's Nurse. She is the founder of Soul Alchemy, focussing on embodiment practices creating a transformational container using ancient and modern healing tools and self-inquiry. She guides her clients in Transforming their Pain into their Soul's Purpose and Transcend by sharing their Innate Gifts with the worldIn this episode we discuss: 1) How we as humans are so much more afraid of our light instead of our darkness. It becomes the norm to dim our light and hide, to play small and not rock the boats. When we dim our light we are hiding our gifts from the world because it feels unsafe or uncertain. The more we dim our light the more self-destructive we become. 2) How we wear masks and disconnect from our true selves and truly lose ourselves. Then it becomes so unsafe to be in our physical body so the only option we give ourselves is to continue to numb out to avoid our feelings. Meghan shares the journey of releasing, healing, alchemizing and ascending. 3) Doing the work with counsellors, coaches or mentors and being open to try so many different avenues to create change in our lives. Learning to continue to do the work and stay in alignment with our values and beliefs decreases the space for resistance to creep in. The more we are out of alignment, the more space we give resistance to grow in our life. 4) Resistance is our greatest teacher and the more we can heal through that resistance there the more we can be set free and that is where our light resides. We can heal through that resistance and trust that it is guiding us in the right direction. When the resistance is present, ask the questions of , "what purpose is resistance here?" S4 Ep 291#291: Stop Standing in Your Past
#291: Stop Standing in Your Past In this "Monday mindset'' episode, we are chatting about whether you are standing in your past stories. I have referred to the concept of standing IN vs standing ON our stories. When we are standing in our stories, we are stuck in the past, replaying scenarios that we can no longer control, fix or manage. Here's a brief explanation of standing in vs standing on your story. In today's episode we discuss:1) Standing IN your stories and the explanation I use is replaying the past over and over; searching for answers to fix something that is done; living in a space of blame, resistance, comparison or frustration; feeling like life is not fair; using your energy to wish, hope and pray for it to all change on it's own; holding yourself back as a victim of your circumstances; and literally keeping yourself stuck in your stories. 2) Learning how to stand on your stories means the following: living at cause in your life; living in full radical ownership for the choices you make, the actions, decisions and responses you give to your circumstances; being committed to your growth and expansion and surrounding yourself with people who fill you up and support your visions; knowing that life has happened and you would not be the person you are today without the stories and circumstances you've lived. It also means being able to look at your lessons and know that your pain serves a much higher purpose and the solutions you learned can actually impact, serve and support others as well as knowing with certainty that life is happening for you and you are ready to step into the driver's seat to create your life.3) When we are standing in our past we are keeping ourselves stuck in something we literally have no control over. Commit to moving forward, opening a door, and closing the one behind you or own the fact that you are making the choice to stay in this space of no change. Learning to stand on your story is when it all changes. S4 Ep 290#290: What You Envy in Others
#290: What You Envy in Others In this Friday Facts episode, I want to talk about envy and what it is telling you. What you envy in others or you are bitter or jealous about is actually something you want and can have in your life. You see in them what is possible for you. So instead of acting with bitterness look at it as a sign or permission for what you can accomplish. Jealousy and envy are extremely low on the vibrational frequency scale and it does nothing but bring your energy down further every single time. In today's episode we discuss:1) According to Brene Brown, buying into envy means that when you see someone else's success it takes away from your own. You believe that there is only so much success, money, love or friendship in the world. It is a "lack" mentality. Jealousy arises at those times when we are at risk for lost connection, abandonment or betrayed trust. Learning to view, see and recognize jealousy becomes the key to all that we are seeking in our lives. 2) It is also an experience of looking outside of ourselves for everything. This is scarcity culture, never enough likes, opportunities or experiences. 3) What you see is a guide for what is possible. Ask the questions, why is this triggering you, what is it showing you. Triggers are our guidepost for what we are capable of creating. When we think we don't have enough, what we are truly buying into is that we aren't enough. Self-worth comes first. S4 Ep 289#289: Choices That Create Your Life with George Wang
#289: Choices That Create Your Life with George Wang Today we are speaking with Executive Coach and Sales Trainer, George Wang. Coach George Wang is a Board Certified Executive Coach, Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Certified Hypnotherapist. Before the age of 15, Coach George Wang was just a normal kid from the 90's playing Nintendo 64 and shooting basketball with friends when one day he was suddenly diagnosed with a rare kidney disease with an average of 10 years before full kidney failure. This led to another discovery of a large tumor on his right lung which was surgically removed along with two-thirds of his lung. With the outpouring of love from friends and family during this traumatic time, Coach George learned the value of human connections and developed a belief that life was all about the connections we make with other human beings. This led him on a path of non-stop learning. Over the past 20 years, Coach George has dedicated his life to studying every method of human behavior science he could get his hands on, which has led to not only his own personal success, but to the success of his clients as well. Today, Coach George helps entrepreneurs, business owners, and corporate executives to connect with, market to, sell, and serve their customers in an ethical manner using psychological behavioral principles. He believes that business should always be win-win, and that the customer should win more. This is how business is done in its truest and most ethical form.In this episode we discuss: 1) Through George's illness and recovery from a young age, he learned the value of connection and relationships, and this was an integral part of his focus in his professional career. The rituals that Coach George goes through on a daily basis to turn on and off our different roles we have in our lives. 2) How to sell authentically by focusing on what your client needs and what ethical selling is. Sales isn't about being pushy. It is about offering your client the solutions you have available and always come from a space of giving value. It is really about helping people by producing value and executing in the sales of that product. 3) George's experience in NLP and how it transformed his life. Business and sales tend to have a negative connotation when it actually is what unites us all. Sales, done properly, actually unifies us as humans and allows us to care for one another. George shares so many incredible examples of this during the show. 4) George discussed the different levels of love and how this is so important when it comes to relationships and making commitments work and fulfilling. S4 Ep 288#288: Using Your Gifts
#288: Using Your Gifts In this "Monday mindset'' episode, I am sharing some thoughts about your gifts, what this means and asking yourself if you are using them? We all have gifts and it is up to us to decide to use them and if we don't they go untapped. Then the question becomes who is being impacted by you not using your gifts? I also read a small excerpt from my book in 2017, "When She Stopped Asking Why", on finding the gifts in our adversities. In today's episode we discuss:1) My definition of gifts and how it is up to us to decide what our gifts are and how we can grow ourselves to build our courage and use our gifts. If these gifts are unused then they are lost. 2) Who is being affected by us not using our gifts? Not sharing our gifts is truly selfish. Someone, somewhere is praying for the solutions that we are holding onto. 3) Our gifts can be described as the lessons we have learned, combined with our unique personality and what brings us joy and when we combine all of it, it leads to us stepping into the space and belief of using our gifts. S4 Ep 287#287: Your Cheerleaders Are Silent
#287: Your Cheerleaders Are Silent In this Friday Facts episode, I want to talk about the cheerleaders in your life. I came across this message after listening to an episode of Earn Your Happy podcast with Lori Harder. It was about our cheerleaders and critics. It really had me reminiscing about my past cheerleaders and critics and how they have both played a role in my life. When you are sharing your story and here to make a big difference, know that your biggest critics will be the loudest in the room but your biggest cheerleaders and those who are leaning on you can be completely silent. In today's episode we discuss:1) When it comes to learning how to share your story, especially when it is vulnerable parts of our stories, our cheerleaders may remain silent for a long time. They will watch, follow along, and then at one point they will slide into your dm's when something speaks to them or when they are ready. It will never be on your timeline, it will be on theirs and when they are ready. 2) Our critics are always there and sometimes they are truly the most vocal. They want to protect us, stop us from hurting ourselves and deep down are bringing their own stories to the table. I experienced this 100 fold when it came to writing my book and sharing our story. 3) This is where it is crucial to focus on what you want to create, where you are going and trusting the process by letting go of the plan, see episode #285. S4 Ep 285#285: Trust Means Letting Go of the Plan
#285: Trust Means Letting Go of the Plan In this "Monday mindset'' episode, I am sharing some thoughts on trust and intuition. These words come up so often in this online coaching space while building a business. They also come up a lot in our personal lives. As important as it is to create a plan, it is equally important to know when to let go of the plan. In today's episode we discuss:1) The plan is the guideline that we set out for our business and life. If you have ever learned before that once you make the plan, then it never goes according to plan. We only know what we know. That is it. It is based on all the past lessons we have learned and experiences we have lived. Past that we don't know what is possible outside of that. 2) Building intuition and trust means not micromanaging the details. It means letting go of the control and knowing that you are here to create something incredible. If you don't believe that deep down on the cellular level, then it means doing the work on subconscious reprogramming to change those beliefs. It means acknowledging as my coach Rachel Joy says, "this or something better" 3) We don't tend to learn trust and intuition until we have built the proof that it is possible. We have to let go and learn the lessons and meet the people who will bring us to the next stage of our life. We must focus on what we can control and that is ourselves. S4 Ep 284#284: Authenticity is a Practice
#284: Authenticity is a Practice In this Friday Facts episode, I want to talk about the buzz word, "authenticity" especially in regards to the online space and building a business. Brene Brown defines authenticity as, " the daily practice of letting go of who we think we're supposed to be and embracing who we are." We make a choice to be authentic, live in alignment, say yes and no to the things that matter, and honour our boundaries. It is a practice, not a one time thing. In today's episode we discuss:1) Authenticity is not a case of having it or not. It is a practice, it is consciously living a life that we want to live. It requires a check in on a regular basis as our lives change, we change, and we are faced with different challenges everyday. 2) When we make decisions for the wrong reasons it does not mean that we failed. Instead it means that we are humans on a journey getting to know ourselves and learning what we want to say yes and no to. It is a hell yes or it is a no. There truthfully is no in between. When we make decisions for the wrong reasons, that out of alignment or inauthenticity is a chance to learn how to do things differently the next time. 3) As Brene Brown says, "there is no authenticity without boundaries", and this hit home for me. Living a life with boundaries means living in our highest form of self respect, giving to ourselves and being ok with saying no to something that simply isn't meant for us. When we say no to others it can be uncomfortable, but that short feeling of discomfort is so much better than anger, resentment or frustrations. None of those emotions will move the needle forward in our lives. S4 Ep 282#282: The Power of the Subconscious Mind
#282: The Power of the Subconscious Mind In this "Monday mindset'' episode, I am sharing some of my recent epiphanies and understandings about the power of our subconscious mind. I recently completed my NLP Practitioner certification and it was such an incredibly eye opening experience and a massive learning curve for me. Through this process I became certified in 6 different modalities including Clinical Hypnosis, EFT Tapping, T.I.M.E Techniques, Life and Success Coaching. NLP works so well because your subconscious mind creates your reality. Nothing has any meaning except the meaning you give it or attach to it. Communication between people means our words make up 7% of communication, physiology makes up 55% and our tonality (how we say what we say) makes up 38%. We can never control how someone receives our message, it is up to them how they receive it. In today's episode we discuss:1) NLP, the formula for success begins with Cause is greater than Effect. Learning how to move from living in effect to living at cause was where all of my transformation began. 2) NLP is a model for success. It's the blueprint for success and the language you learn to speak to talk to your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is where 95+% of your thoughts and beliefs are formed. Think of the iceberg picture and all the work we never see below the surface. This is why long lasting change does not come from "thinking good thoughts".3) Your mind is literally where everything is truly controlled. How you move, if and when you take action, what you think, what you feel, how you decide to live everyday life etc. To access your subconscious mind, you must learn how to speak to it and this is exactly what NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is. 4) This internal representation of how we see things creates a picture in our minds of what we are receiving and our physiology creates our state and our state determines our behaviour and that determines our results. Our state is incredibly important to how we perceive the information. S4 Ep 281#281: The Relationship of Receiving and Fulfillment
#281: The Relationship of Receiving and Fulfillment In this Friday Facts episode, I am sharing my thoughts on receiving and fulfillment. This concept came up while I was recently recording another podcast episode. Let's talk about receiving and fulfillment. In today's episode we discuss:1) Self-fulfillment is defined as the "act of fulfilling one's ambitions, desires, etc., through one's own efforts" (unknown). It only comes from within, no one can do it or be that for us. When we live in the present moment, we are able to practice gratitude. When we are experiencing anxiety we are living in the future and when we are living with regret we are living in the past. The present is the only moment we can control. When we are fulfilled, we love ourselves first. We fill our cup first because we are aware that to give and receive in this world comes down to knowing that we are worthy and worth receiving. 2) When we are seeking fulfillment outside of ourselves or waiting for someone to fill this role, we never fill it. No one else can fill this space for us but us. No one completes or fixes us. Others can add to our lives, but no one can complete it for us. The more time we spend searching outside of ourselves, the more empty we tend to feel. 3) If we are not open to receiving from others we are not seeing or valuing our worth. That means that we don't tend to ask for help or support, and even if someone does reach out to us to support us, we may block ourselves from receiving that support. Receiving and Fulfillment truly do compliment each other and go hand in hand. S4 Ep 279#279: Why Your Story Matters
#279: Why Your Story Matters In this "Monday mindset'' episode, I am sharing some lessons I have learned over the past few years why our story matters. When we are going through difficult times we tend to retreat from the world and hide. It is our way of avoiding being hurt, judged, criticized or even being seen. Living this way provides no solutions or changes. When we are open to seeing that our stories, experiences and lessons make us who we are and who we are becoming, we can truly find and create freedom in our lives. This is one of my fav quotes, "You're not a victim for sharing your story. You are a survivor setting the world on fire with your truth. And you never know who needs your light, your warmth and your raging courage." Alex Elle In today's episode we discuss:1) Our stories all matter because we all matter. Everyone has something to contribute, share and give in this world and our stories create who we are and who we are becoming. They make a massive impact in our lives and the sooner we acknowledge that, the sooner we can be on the path to being "free" from the weight of our stories. 2) Seeing our stories differently requires learning to stand ON your story instead of IN it. The reason why it feels like your story doesn't matter is because you are continuing to live in it. When we are stuck in our story, we are on a repeat cycle of frustration, comparison, resentment, anger and victimhood. No change comes from this cycle. 3) Our stories connect us, remind us that we are human and not alone. We all crave human connections, and we are connected by our stories, our pain and our emotions. Shifting this allows us to give our power back to ourselves and not the story. 4) Is there a purpose or a reason for your story? How is it nudging you to become the person you were meant to become? Finding a purpose in our stories, realizing that it is not all about us anymore can create a massive shift in our healing and our energy. S4 Ep 278#278: What Are You Holding Onto?
#278: What Are You Holding Onto? In this Friday Facts episode, I am sharing my thoughts on a simple yet impactful concept. What are you holding onto? When I work with the women in the Storytelling Bootcamp and Owning Your Story program, we look at their past stories, what meaning they are giving them and what they are holding onto. What we are holding onto is also holding onto us. That also means that we are giving away our energy, our personal power and our resources to create change in our lives. Since we are holding onto it, we are the only ones who can choose to let it go. In today's episode we discuss:1) Start by looking at what you are holding onto, what you are feeling heavy about, resentment around and the stories you feel are holding you back in your life. Dissect them, be honest and real and learn how to create the story of letting them go. 2) There is so much power in breaking down the stories, reframing the story and learning the lessons and letting go of what doesn't serve you. 3) You will find freedom and feel lighter and see your story in a whole new light. Learning to bless and release is the way to opening up opportunities in your future. In order to take on something new you have to learn to let go of what doesn't serve you. Let go of the old to make room for the new! S4 Ep 277#277: Growing and Building Legacy Businesses with Chantal Gatien
#277: Growing and Building Legacy Businesses with Chantal Gatien Today we are speaking with Marketing & Web Strategist Chantal Gatien. Chantal has run a successful digital marketing agency for the last 5 years. Through this time, she realized she was taking the power away from women who were wanting to run an online business. She was doing all the right things for them to grow their business but she soon realized that she wasn't empowering them to understand their own business. She now focuses on teaching women the technical side of running and scaling her online business through Designed to Scale with her partner Cora-Lynn Hazelwood. In this episode we discuss: 1) We talk about all things ownership, owning our choices and how powerful our stories are to share. "If we are not the problem then there is no solution because it's not ours to own", as Chantal so beautifully says. We can all shift from victim to ownership because that is when it all changes. 2) Chantal shares her story from being a recovering addict, to not finishing high school, to excelling in college and running a successful marketing agency. Where we start is not where we have to finish. We can truly change our story at any time. 3) Growth is about finding ourselves, elevating ourselves and about creating change. What was once attractive becomes something not as important and when that happens it is easier to let it go.
