Rabbi Steve Berkson focuses on the topic of “Who Shall be Saved?”, as he takes us to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13. Can the dead come to life today? Rabbi Steve Berkson kicks this teaching off by taking you to Ephesians 2 where the Apostle Paul writes about the dead coming to life. This is also found in Colossians 3 where it reads, “If, then, you were raised with Messiah…Do you know what things to do to please your spouse? Are you doing what is pleasing to The Creator, in the way He intended? Rabbi Steve takes you to Matthew 22 to begin to understand what you need to do in order to please Abba. We see Yeshua quoting the “v’ahavta”, Deuteronomy 6:5-9, saying that we should love Yahweh with all of our mind. Also as is written in Philippians 2:5 that you “let this mind be in you that was also in Messiah Yeshua.” The word ‘let’ indicates a personal responsibility to allow this to happen. In Romans 12 Rabbi Steve brings out that it is your “reasonable service” to renew your mind so that you will know how to please your Heavenly Father. Although Yahweh told a group of people that He chose them to be a select group for His purpose, there was a contingency attached, the “if/then” that we read about–“If you diligently obey my voice, then I will accept you as my people.” So, regardless of what is taught about Jesus did it all, did He really? Tithing is a part of the Restoration Process–of coming into observance of the Torah. Continuing in the theme of “Why Endure?”, Rabbi Steve Berkson ponders if a human being can live without limitations. If we can do all things through Messiah who strengthens us, where are the limitations? Who imposed them?Rabbi Steve takes us first to James 5 where we see the duty we have been given to “establish your heart” in order to patiently endure and wait for the plan of Yahweh to play out. In James 1 we see that the writer has completely lost his mind when he says to “count it all joy when you fall into various trials”. How can anyone do that?
