In Proverbs chapter 3 King Solomon is writing to his children to “bind his Torah around their neck.” What does it mean to bind something around your neck? How do you “write” something on your heart? It seems that Solomon is instructing us to do things, but hasn’t it “all been done for us”? What are the three things Torah does for us? Rabbi Steve Berkson begins this final episode of this series by expounding on what pursuing the Torah of Yahweh can do to bring peace into your life.Then moving into Jeremiah chapter 23 Rabbi Berkson ties it to Proverbs chapter 3 and on the responsibility of being a proper anointed/appointed teacher of the scriptures. How did the teachers of Jeremiah’s day scatter the people? For what were they being reprimanded and punished? Is there a Messianic reference in this chapter? Dealing with the idea of “Waiting, Seeking, and Being strong”, Rabbi Steve Berkson takes us to Isaiah chapter 51 in order to get a glimpse of what “His world” will look like. For one thing, “His world” is going to have in it those who “pursue righteousness”. (vs 1) For another thing, “His world” will be filled with the Light of His Torah. What are you afraid of? Is being afraid wreaking havoc with your peace? As he takes us to Exodus 14:1-15, Rabbi Steve Berkson breaks down the story of the Israelites leaving Egypt defiantly, but when they come to the water’s edge they become afraid. The water is in front of them, mountains are on each side and Pharaoh with his army is behind them trapping them. What is the source of our peace? “What has been resolved has to be released.” In this the final episode of Forgiveness, Resolution, Reconciliation & Restoration, Rabbi Steve Berkson gives a more detailed review of everything that’s been taught up to this point. In this teaching Rabbi Steve Berkson focuses on what comes after forgiveness, which is what we are all seeking for when we get down on our knees before the Father after we’ve trespassed against Him. As he takes us to the first of the passages in this teaching, Luke 23:33, we see Messiah Yeshua as He is being crucified by the hands of the Romans crying out to His Father to forgive them…they don’t understand what they are doing. How important is forgiveness? Rabbi Steve Berkson takes us to Matthew chapter six where he shows us the “model prayer” given by Yeshua when His disciples asked how they should pray.In the prayer, which is just an outline for how to pray, Yeshua hits the issue of forgiveness, from the vertical, the Father, and also on the horizontal, between ourselves. As he begins the text for this teaching in 1 John 1:1, Rabbi Steve Berkson points out that the apostle John confirms all the scriptures that refer to Messiah Yeshua as the Word, and from the mouth of Yeshua as He refers to Himself as the Life, when he says he has looked upon and handled the Word of Life–he was there as the Messiah walked on this earth.As Rabbi Berkson points out, the apostle John emphasizes in the first part of his letter the vertical and horizontal relationships–with our Father and with each other.
