A Canterbury couple believe it's a pure miracle they walked away without serious injury after a car smashed into their bedroom as they slept.  Emergency services were called to Rolleston's Shillingford Boulevard around 3:40 early Saturday morning.  The vehicle trapped Llewellyn Venter under a doorframe and pinned his wife Sue-ann under the wheel.    He says the curtain saved their lives by shielding them from the debris.  The pair sustained just cuts and bruises, while the driver was moderately injured.  Llewellyn told Matt Heath and Tyler Adams there was an immense sound like a roll of thunder and a massive bang, before everything was just on top of them.  “It was bricks and windows and everything, and, so then I started screaming and just digging myself out.”   Sue-ann didn’t answer the first two times he called for her, but he spotted her legs sticking out from under the car that crashed into their bedroom.  “Somehow I managed to push the car, or lift the car, out of the way, well, just, and grab my wife and just pull her out.”  “It was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.”   Suu-ann told Matt and Tyler that she’d never heard her husband scream like that before.  “I didn’t know what was going on, because you couldn’t see anything.”  “I really thought I was gonna die.”  LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A new Wellington café is hoping a subscription-based coffee offer will help boost the company in a tough economic environment. For $70 a month, customers can have as many free drinks as they want - and for $30 a month, all drinks are $2 and for $15 a month, all drinks are half-price. Jarrod Strong from Eva's Garage says the service has had an 'amazing' amount of support from the cafe's regulars. There's growing concern among many that the traditional movie theatre experience is declining, with attendance numbers dropping over the last few years. Queenslanders are bracing for what could be the worst storm in more than 70 years.  Tropical Cyclone Alfred is moving onto the east coast, with its full force expected to hit tomorrow and Saturday.  Evacuations are under way in the Gold Coast over fears of swells, 155 kilometre an hour winds, and flooding. Industry experts have voiced their surprise after the Reserve Bank Governor abruptly resigned today.   Adrian Orr was almost halfway through his second five-year term. The OE is a classic experience for many young New Zealanders, but new data shows there's a higher cohort of skilled professionals aged 25 to 45 leaving in droves. After a series of streakers interrupted the opening round of Super Rugby Pacific over the weekend, Matt Heath and Tyler Adams asked what the motivation is and whether there's a solution to it. That prompted Aaron Bain to call, one of the infamous streakers who interrupted a Bledisloe Cup test in 2002 covered in Vodafone branding. While he says he wasn't paid by the Australian telco for the stunt, he revealed there was a deal that if he made it to the field he would get paid $500, and if they got on TV they would get $1000, and all their fines would be paid for. 23 years later, he told Matt and Tyler that he had a a good time. "I'll tell you that it was funny, everybody knew me, my grandparents were proud." And his only regret? "I regret that we lost the game."
