270: Kung Fu, Occam’s Razor, Neuroscience, Motiliti Marketing

Kung Fu Marketing with Motiliti, Occam\'s Razor and Neuroscience Passions:Dr. Joe Schaefer is a digital marketing agency owner, but that is only the tip of the iceberg with him. He has a Ph.D. and is a published neuroscience researcher. He is also a 7th-degree black belt in Kung Fu and has been teaching and training for over 30 years with a 300 person school in Austin Texas. He brings all of this mastery and skill to the table with each of his clients as he guides, transforms and educates them on digital marketing.Quote: \"Where are you on your \"10 year to mastery\" plan?\" ~ Dr. Joe SchaeferQuote: \"Progress is not achieved by luck or accident, but by working on yourself daily\" ~ Epictetus Top 3 Hot Points:Neuroscience30 Years of Kung Fu LessonsMarketing Mindset [spp-tweet tweet=\"You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @MotilitiMoves \"] Resources:Motiliti.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-joe-schaefer-716b5061/Occam\'s Razor: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Occam\'s%20razorOccam\'s Razor: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Occam\'s%20razor Final Words:I\'ll tell you what, the lesson that I would carry because I\'m sure I have we have a lot of entrepreneurs listening, right. So and whether they\'re that no matter what they\'re trying to do in their life, or you\'re trying to do in your life, I guarantee you 100% success, that you will reach everything that you want if you just don\'t quit. When my students come to me and say I need advice, I\'m going to start a business, we sit down and we look at it like belts. In six months you can\'t give up on this because you\'re only a blue belt. What does your business goal look like when you\'re a brown belt? What are we going to call a brown belt? What are we going to call a black belt? However, two-thirds of my students are adults.[spp-timestamp time=\"21:30\"] Explain for the listeners who don\'t know what a kata is. I\'ll let the master here explain what it\'s like. A prearranged sequence of moves that teach, it transmits the moves forward in time. So if I teach you the Kata, it will have all the moves of that system, the blocks, the kicks, the punches, the traps, the sweeps, all of those things.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] As we kept moving along, we have realized that the real problem here is not the video, it\'s not getting results. 269: Fitness Entrepreneur Lifestyle, PANS & PANDAS

Father, Husband, Entrepreneur, Coach, and Author. Welcome, Pat Rigsby:I guess if I were going to sum it up in 5 words, those would be the five. But I’m going to share a little more in hopes that my journey can be of a little help to you in your own.I’m a 46-year-old guy that has built his share of successes from the ground up…and more importantly, have a beautiful wife, two incredible boys and a business that allows me to spend most of my time with them along with family and friends.Quote:If you do what you said you were going to do each day, then you will get what you said you were going to get.In the past decade, I’ve built over a dozen businesses as a CEO and Co-Owner, with five becoming million dollar or multi-million dollar ventures. Two of those businesses, Athletic Revolution and Fitness Revolution, have been multiple time winners on the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 with each being the #1 franchise for its respective market. Another business, Fitness Consulting Group, was a multiple time honoree on the Inc. 5000, placing as high as #580 on the list of fastest growing businesses in the U.S. I’ve also been a Best-Selling Author 6 times over, presented in front of thousands of entrepreneurs and been featured in Entrepreneur, Men’s Health, USA Today and on hundreds of other media outlets.“When it comes to sales, I’ve personally sold as many as 116 franchises in a single year and been the strategist and copywriter for over 10 million dollars in online sales from my own businesses and millions more in sales for my clients.”In the fitness industry alone, my coaching & consulting clients have been featured in places like Men’s Health, USA Today, Men’s Fitness, Shape, Women’s Health, Huffington Post and on ABC, CBS, NBC and pretty much any other media outlet you can think of. They’ve built some of the most successful businesses and brands in every corner of the industry. Everything from local business and supplement companies to online businesses, certification organizations. They even became best-selling authors. In fact, many (if not most) of the experts providing business coaching in the fitness industry have been my clients, customers or franchisees. And the best part of this? I’ve been able to do all of these things and more while working from home, coaching my kids in baseball and soccer and enjoying a type of entrepreneurial lifestyle I would have never thought possible just a few short years ago. Top 3 Hot Points:Entrepreneurial TeamsLifestyle BalancePANS & PANDAS Awareness [spp-tweet tweet=\"You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @livethefuel \"] Resources:PatRigsby.comhttps://twitter.com/patrigsbyhttps://www.instagram.com/patrigsby5/https://www.facebook.com/PatRigsbyHQ/https://www.facebook.com/patrigsbyhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBtvMe6Ny66FvZQsBnVtV9gPANS and PANDAS Research on NIMH: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/research/research-conducted-at-nimh/research-areas/clinics-and-labs/sbp/information-about-pans-pandas.shtml Final Words:If you\'re in the entrepreneurial world or even if you\'re just somebody who wants to be a high achiever in your career, listen in. Professional and personal success aren\'t mutually exclusive things you can have them both but you\'re probably not going to have them both by accident. You need to plan and you need to make sure that you are moving towards those goals each and every day. If you do that, you can be pretty amazed about what you can accomplish. Influencers Mentioned:Fitness Influencer: VinnieTortorich.comCharlie Foundation: https://charliefoundation.org/about-us/What are PANS & PANDAS: http://www.nepans.org/panspandas-info.html On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"10:00\"] It\'s great now with social media because we get such quick feedback. When I started in the business world, you were going to do more direct mail for marketing. Spending a lot of money and waiting for a pretty significant amount of time for feedback.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] It allows them to stay pretty close to what they consider their wheelhouse and still do what they need to do, from a business standpoint. They have the type of business that they set out to have when they started in the first place.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] It\'s not only your time, but it\'s your fulfillment from what you\'re doing. Getting caught up having to be the guy doing all the podcast editing and all the other stuff, and then all of a sudden the podcast gets to be a lot less fun for the host. I\'m just a big believer in doing the things that are not only my best financial ROI but also the best fulfillment of me spending my team too.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] Alex\'s PANS. Alex has kind of a milder, case. Study Evolution To Gain Better Health. Today\'s Health Podcast is with Dr. Stephen Hussey and we discuss Balance vs Imbalance:Dr. Stephen Hussey is a board certified Chiropractor and Functional Medicine practitioner. He has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from the University of North Carolina Asheville as well as a Masters in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine and a Doctorate of Chiropractic both from the University of Western States. He is the author of two books on health; The Health Evolution: Why Understanding Evolution is the Key to Vibrant Health and The Heart: Our Most Medically Misunderstood Organ.Quote: \"Don\'t ask what the world needs. Because what the world needs it people who have come alive.\" - Howard ThurmanDr. Hussey is passionate about the natural world and applying the natural sciences of ecology and evolution to understanding our chronic disease epidemic. He has worked with many people over the years and has seen the power of food, lifestyle change, and personal environment modification transform lives every day. He coaches people across the world back to health in an online coaching setting at ResourceYourHealth.com. When he is not working he enjoys time outdoors as well as reading, playing sports, and spending time with his wife and their three cats. Top 3 Hot Points:Balance vs ImbalanceEvolution StudiesBe a Health Participant [spp-tweet tweet=\"Study our health evolution, become your own health participant. I think that a lot of people think that I\'m not an evolutionary biologist. You\'re not traditionally trained in nutrition, but our life experience has given us the knowledge to apply that to our lives and help people in different ways to apply that to theirs.I would encourage people to not be so narrow-minded when it comes to accepting advice from people. Let\'s listen to their story, listen to how they got there. Take from them what you will learn and try to learn something from them. Even if you don\'t end up doing what they recommend, you can take what you can from their story and what they learned. See if you can apply it to your life. On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"12:00\"] When we have an injury, your body learns a new way of functioning to protect or get around that injury. When the injury heals, or say you had the surgery, things get a little bit more back to normal function. The body doesn\'t necessarily unlearn that way of functioning.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] Consumers were not getting health insurance because it was too expensive, or they weren\'t using it. That was throwing a wrench into the whole system. This whole for-profit system goes between practitioners, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies. They did this thing to protect the whole system, which made everybody have to get mandatory health insurance.[spp-timestamp time=\"31:00\"] I\'ve developed an initial consult that, this sounds kind of bad, but kind of weeds out the people that aren\'t ready to make the changes necessary. Lots of people come to me expecting that I can give them something they can take. They sometimes expect that I can do something to them that will cure them. However, then they can go back to living their life the exact same way.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] Interesting thing about diabetes, this is one of my favorite things that I\'ve come across. One thing about evolution is that people don\'t realize that humans are supposed to hit optimal evolution. We\'re still evolving now. So one piece of evidence for that is when you go through medical school, you\'re learning about diabetes, and metabolic syndrome and heart disease and things like that. We see a higher incidence and prevalence in people of minority descent compared to people of European descent. So Pacific Islanders, African American, Native American, these people are more susceptible to these diseases, they get them more readily and more severely.[spp-timestamp time=\"56:00\"] Final Words Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 267: Filipino Outsourcing, Time Freedom, & Online Jobs

Powerful Life Balance Tips Through Outsourcing and Filipino Workers:John has helped thousands of entrepreneurs succeed in their business by doing outsourcing differently. He created and runs OnlineJobs.ph, the largest website for finding Filipino virtual workers, with over 500,000 Filipino resumes and over 100,000 employers from around the world using it. He works about 17 hours per week, choosing to spend his time with his family rather than working. Top 3 Hot Points:Choose your Lifestyle Freedom.Consider outsourcing your weaknesses.Major cost savings with Filipino workers. [spp-tweet tweet=\"You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @livethefuel \"] Resources:https://onlinejobs.phhttps://facebook.com/johnjonasofficialhttps://linkedin.com/in/johnjonas1 Final Words:Every decision I make in my business is based on who\'s going to do the work. Is it me? Or is it someone else? If it\'s me that has to do the work then I don\'t want to do this, I don\'t want to pursue this project. That\'s the way you make decisions towards getting your way down from 50 hours a week to 38 to 27 to 17. Who\'s going to do the work is it me or is it someone else? It\'s got to be someone else or we can\'t pursue and that\'s lifestyle balance. Influencers Mentioned:Tom Schwab of Interview Valet On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"11:00\"] I know India has different dialects. The Philippines does too. One of the great things about the Philippines is that English is the first language there. They\'ll teach Math and English in elementary school.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] You can have this person do anything you\'re willing to teach them to do. Now, obviously, in the beginning, I taught this guy a marketing process. You shouldn\'t hire a programmer to write this content. Don\'t hire an audio editor and say, hey, also do my SEO. In the beginning, I hired a general VA.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] If you\'re telling me that you\'re the ultimate hustler, and you\'re putting in 60 to 80 hours a week, that\'s a concern. What you\'re showing me is that you haven\'t figured it out. You don\'t have a continuation game plan. That\'s my concern, you didn\'t build a business, you built a job.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] I\'ve seen lots of people go through this. I couldn\'t hire someone to do what I needed. It wasn\'t cost effective here, however, it was cost-effective in the Philippines. My business grew where my business would have failed. I then reached a point where I could afford to hire someone here in the USA. I love Filipinos because they have created jobs in the US too.[spp-timestamp time=\"52:00\"] The ending advice that I always give is, you have to try it. You have to try this and see if it works for you. If you don\'t try it, you\'ll never know. If you tried it and it doesn\'t work, at least you know. It only costs you a couple of hundred bucks. If it does work, the upside is so high. The risk here is so out of proportion of the reward. You just have to try and see what happens, that\'s what I went through.[spp-timestamp time=\"01:02:00\"] Final Words Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 266: Goat Rancher to Duodenal Switch to Marketing Entrepreneur

Today\'s Lifestyle Podcast is with Michael Giannulis, a Goat Rancher, Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Participant, Duodenal Switch Surgery Recipient, Turned Marketing Entrepreneur.Michael Giannulis (Gee-uh-NEW-liss - kind of like “Gee, a new list” because after all, he’s in marketing!) has overcome the odds and loves to share that story to inspire others. Mike especially thrives on connecting with entrepreneurs to motivate them to “do big things” in the world.Quote: Life rewards those who take action, not those who take notes. - Michael GiannulisMike’s story begins in an average family where he had to work for everything he had. He started “at the bottom” and worked his way into the American Dream. In fact, Mike dropped out of high school, went back to get his degree and even went to college… ending up on a popular reality TV show. As a guy who started his working life stocking shelves on the overnight shift at a giant retailer, Mike has seen the spectrum.FUEL FANS: onlyonemike.com/livethefuelNow Mike grows and scales companies, using real-world experience to make this happen. His most recent company is on track to do $40 million in gross revenues. He is a serial entrepreneur who develops systems to help other entrepreneurs run multiple companies without having to be there. In 2012 Mike appeared on the ABC television show Extreme Weight Loss, losing 255 pounds. He has overcome a stutter. He has gone from the bottom of the corporate ladder to the top of the mountain… and he loves helping others do the same. Top 3 Hot Points:Healthy Lifestyle ChoicesExtreme Weight Loss Gained BackSuccess Is Not A Straight Line [spp-tweet tweet=\"Life rewards those who take action, not those who take notes. There are ups and downs, zigzags and turnarounds. Everything is a continuation of where you came from, and where you\'re trying to go. So I would say for people that are out there, whether it\'s your business or your health, or whatever it is you\'re trying to focus on, just know that it\'s going to be a process.I believe in that a lot, just look for feedback. The funny thing about feedback that I tell people all the time is that feedback usually comes in the form of a problem, a complaint or an issue. That\'s how feedback comes to us. Influencers Mentioned:ABC\'s Extreme MakeoverFitness Confidential with Vinnie Tortorich On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"05:00\"] We bought 500 dairy goats. Not only that, they were all pregnant. They were all set to have kids and in about the same month![spp-timestamp time=\"10:30\"] There\'s always someone else that comes up to me after and says, just so you know, you were not a goat farmer, you were a goat rancher. Farmers deal with crops and ranchers deal with animals.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] Well, I don\'t want to go out and eat chicken and broccoli, I could do that at home for four bucks. So then you are like, well, I want to get the chicken marsala. I mean, you want to get like the fancy thing. That\'s my problem, I controlled it to an extent. I gained back all of the weight after the show ended.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] I connect with people that are very big, like 100 plus pounds overweight. There\'s not a lot of people that have been there and gone through that. I tell people you\'re not going to do this by waking up at 5 am on a random Monday. Then try to run three miles, hitting the gym and drinking your egg protein shake. The human body can\'t make that much of a leap. The bridge has to be very small so you will be able to walk it. After all, I lost 255 pounds and that was over 12 months.[spp-timestamp time=\"39:40\"] I really want to make sure that I\'m around for a long time for my future kids. Being fat from the age of four means that I never made a conscious choice to be overweight. My mom and my family cared for me a lot. My mom worked all of the time so she was never home. She was a single mom so I grew up with my grandparents. My

The Truth Behind Toxic Relationships and Your Own Toxic Family with Dr. Sherrie Campbell:Today’s guest is Dr. Sherrie Campbell, a licensed psychologist, inspiring author, and nationally recognized expert who’s featured regularly on TV and radio, as well as Daily Mail, Huffington Post, and Entrepreneur.Quote: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.Dr. Campbell is here today to share her expertise from nearly two decades of clinical training and practice to help each of you break free of the limiting beliefs that may be holding you back, and rise up to live the life you were born to live.Top 3 Hot Points:Health CommunicationsToxicity AwarenessDisowning Unhealthy Family [spp-tweet tweet="Loving Yourself Is Not Easy, You Have To Grind! @Dr_Sherrie "]Resources:https://www.linkedin.com/in/sherriecampbell/https://twitter.com/Dr_Sherriehttps://www.facebook.com/SherrieCampbellPhDhttps://www.instagram.com/dr.sherrie/Book: But It’s Your Family…: Cutting Ties with Toxic Family Members and Loving Yourself in the Aftermath Final Words:If you love yourself, your life is going to shift and you loving yourself sounds really super easy. It's really not, you have to grind. You know, you've really got to know yourself to love yourself. And you really can't love someone else. Unless you love you any way you'd be giving some sort of a famed love but it's okay to set boundaries. You know, boundaries are not to hurt or to harm others. It's just to keep the good and get the bad out. On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="05:30"] I agree 100% and I'm very much of a coach, I'm not your passive listener, a canned psychologist that regurgitates back to you what you feel.[spp-timestamp time="12:00"] I lived in Leadville for a couple of years, that little town where the Leadville 100 race is.[spp-timestamp time="20:30"] But it is so toxic for me, so detrimental to my self worth, so many limiting beliefs created. It was crazy-making, I can't prove a look at the disgust on someone's face. I can't prove a tone of voice, everything can be gaslighting.[spp-timestamp time="30:15"] As a child, you don't know that your parents are in need of change. You don't have the ability to process that in your brain yet. It really takes until you're in your adulthood to recognize what toxic is I knew things weren't right as a kid I knew but I couldn't explain why. I couldn't explain why. If I did, it would get gaslighted and turned around on me.[spp-timestamp time="40:00"] If anything, if you had decency in your being, she allowed her emotions to get the best of her and her self centeredness to get the best of her. I would think a couple of days later, you'd have like some guilt, or some resolution happening. It's like oh my god, what did I do? You know what, maybe I need to put the olive branch out there? I need to reach out to her like, I feel like a complete POS.[spp-timestamp time="51:40"] The number one reason people leave their job is they don't like their boss. If it's sick at the top, whether it's corporate America or your family, the trickle effect is it's going to be sick at the bottom. It's that chemical we talked about at the beginning of the show that just slowly moves through the system who poisons it.[spp-timestamp time="01:01:20"] Final WordsAction Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 264: Attack Work-Life Balance and ATTCK Marketing

Today we discuss Work-Life Balance with the ATTCK Marketing man himself, Dennis Plucinik!Dennis Plucinik, ATTCK’s founder, started his company with the goal of doing things right. He’d spent years in the digital advertising world, where work and personal life blend into one and “work hard, play hard together” means never leaving the office—and having colleagues for drinking buddies. He found himself wondering if a company with a different kind of work culture could succeed. An environment free from stressful deadlines, late nights, weekends, and the myriad other reasons why great people quit their jobs.Quote: "If you like doing what you do, then you never work a day."Dennis wanted to create a workplace where tasks get done during work hours only, and where employees don’t feel guilty for leaving at 6 PM. ATTCK takes on the projects that Dennis and the ATTCK team feel are best suited for them—projects that bring in more than just money.Top 3 Hot Points:A new way of organizational structure.Healthy lifestyle commitments and beating opioid addiction.Work-Life Balance, like what you do. [spp-tweet tweet="How do you attack your own Work-Life balance?! ATTCK Your Marketing too! @DennisPlucinik "] Final Words:How are people approaching their life? What do they want to get out of it? What I'm trying to do is just to be happy with the decisions that I make. I think that's an important set of principles to live by. So, you know, if you understand yourself, you understand things that make you happy, and what you really want out of it. For me, that's surrounding myself with people who produce great work. I absolutely love what I do. I think that's also very important to know.It sometimes doesn't feel like work, right? But that's like the old cliche, it doesn't feel like work. If you like doing what you do, then you never work a day. It's not totally true, things get very difficult on hard days. If you find something that you're absolutely passionate about, it'll drive you through. It'll carry you through those hard times. So find something that you love doing and be passionate about it. It's not easy to do. It took me a long time to be able to do this. It's worth it in the end. Resources:ATTCK.com@ATTCKCO on Facebook@DennisPlucinik on LinkedIn@DennisPlucinik on Twitter@DennisPlucinik on Instagram On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="10:00"] It's a very sort of flat organizational structure. So it's meant to say a couple of things. Everybody here supports each other equally. When you're focused on one person, the whole company is focused on that one person. It's a little deep. That literally was the theory before we built this. I love it. It's very creative![spp-timestamp time="20:00"] If I'm not sure about something or not confident I can carry it through, I won't do it. I don't gamble, I don't play blackjack or anything else. I think I gambled with the surgery I had, I most likely didn't need in the end. Turns out I didn't need it. But I couldn't gamble and did it anyway. I didn't want this to come up 10 years later and say, oh we actually didn't get everything and now you're gonna die. I just didn't want to gamble that. So that's sort of my MO, I've got to be certain about what I'm doing.[spp-timestamp time="29:30"] I had some pretty serious neuropathy, which is nerve damage to your extremities, incredibly painful. The only solution was a couple of solutions that are not really perfect. The long and short of it is that as a result of the surgery, I ended up getting very quick addicted to opioids like within two weeks. So I have a really close experience with that and it's very scary. It was effective but it's incredibly addictive. I can see how it's such a huge epidemic because you can have easy access to that stuff.[spp-timestamp time="40:00"] People who tie working success to the quantity of hours, I'm against it. There's quality versus quantity. Right? We have very specific ways of tracking progress and development projects. We get really nerdy on this idea. We use a system to track basically hours efficiency and call it a Velocity of Tracks that Delta. What you estimated your time would take versus what it would actually take.[spp-timestamp time="54:15"] Final WordsAction Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. That component of things whether it's pushing through a big business project, making a big decision, or pushing through pain at a race or in a practice. 262: Our HELIYES Heliskiing Wedding Adventures

Our Skiing Themed Wedding of Heliskiing, Backcountry Cat-Skiing, and more in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada:This is a quick and short, special podcast episode to reflect on our return from our #HELIYES heliskiing wedding. That's right, I actually got married! Dr. Kristen Fenstermacher VMD of All Points Equine and I, Scott Mulvaney of LIVETHEFUEL said "I DO" the only way we know how... on an adventure skiing in the Canadian Rockies baby!!!Live The Fired Up Epic Life! - Quoted: Scott MulvaneyTop 3 Hot Points:Our ski wedding hashtag is #HELIYESWe highly recommend backcountry skiing!RK Heliski and Great Northern Snowcat Skiing are epic! [spp-tweet tweet="We are #Married listen in for a fun overview of our #HELIYES skiing themed #wedding Reminder, you too can LIVETHEFUEL! @livethefuel @scottwmulvaney "] Our #HELIYES Album on Facebook:Final Words:I've been ripping the lid off here this year, we've got my first book coming out soon, a little story of some of the lessons I learned from the Hotshot Wildland Firefighting world. So that'll be coming out when I can get it there. I'm still finishing editing on that, so that's taken longer than I expected. Resources:Follow Scott's personal Instagram @scottwmulvaneyFriend & Follow Scott's personal Facebook @scott.w.mulvaneyRK Heliski in Panorama British ColumbiaGreat Northern Snowcat-Skiing British ColumbiaManlyBands.com On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="04:00"] We're not all hardcore skiers, it's all about that deep, fluffy, amazingly powdery snow. That was the theme of our wedding, it was hey guys, let's go have an adventure. Let's do some heliskiing. Let's rock out and have a good time.[spp-timestamp time="09:30"] We rocked out some serious old school and amazing onesie ski suits. Mine was three different shades of purple and blue. I'm quite proud of it and I'm not getting rid of it. I spent $150US on eBay for that bad boy and it is in mint condition.[spp-timestamp time="10:45"] So we went skiing for a couple of days after heliski and then we had a Snowcat skiing trip booked, which was awesome! Normally they're actually using them to groom the ski slopes or open up remote mountain roads, but they actually mount big metal boxes on the back of them and so you can carry people. So instead of flying you into the backcountry like we did the first week. We had them drive us up into the backcountry in and around where they were based in a remote part of British Columbia.[spp-timestamp time="15:30"] Luckily my lung and rib muscles held up and I was able to do a lot of crazy stuff. I was not at my full physical fitness level but still pulled everything off that I could. Now that I'm back, it's time to do some riding because I got some training ahead. Come this July I'll be doing my first 100-mile mountain biking race of all things, the Wilderness 101 aka W101.[spp-timestamp time="17:00"] The wedding ring I bout is a black zirconium, wrapped in elk antler bone, inlayed with a ring of brown teak wood. That doesn't start the day of trying to do an Ironman, I'm not going to just go do that tomorrow, right? I'm going to train and I'm going to prepare. As long as you're doing the physical preparation, think about the mental preparation and not only those things from what we've discussed of sleep and making those unknowns, known. So I know for me, if I look at that clock, and it's one of those workouts, I said to my teammates, I do not want to know what the time is. 259: Healthy Body and Soul Alchemy for Practitioners

Body and Soul Alchemy, Health Practitioner Training, and more with Jennifer Iserloh:The Alchemy lover herself, Jennifer Iserloh, is a professionally trained chef, author, and emotional healer — and a leader in promoting healthy, vibrant lifestyles through healthy delicious eating paired with spiritual practices.A classically trained chef and a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education, Jennifer is also a certified yoga teacher, a certified Reiki practitioner, and a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She is the best-selling author of 50 Shades of Kale and The Healing Slow Cooker, among 22 other books. She has also generated thousands of articles, blog posts and recipes for publications such as SELF, Yoga Journal, Health Monitor, Parents, Prevention, In Style, People, First For Women, AOL/Huffington Post and Livestrong and currently works as an integrative health coach through her program Just Eat Smarter.Quote: Do one thing every day that scares you. - Jennifer IserlohIn addition, she has worked with both integrative and functional medicine doctors to produce their books and healthy eating programs, learning the science behind healing foods. After graduating with honors from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2003, she worked in kitchens throughout Manhattan as well as interning with cookbook authors like Tyler Florence of the Food Network where she learned recipe development first hand.Shortly after, she pursued a career as a private chef for the following three years and worked in the homes of exclusive clientele such as Annie Leibovitz, Susan Sontag, and Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld. Throughout her hectic restaurant and private cheffing career, she maintains a strong yoga and meditation practice which enabled her to stay strong in a highly competitive field.Searching for a spiritual practice where she could incorporate her knowledge of healing foods and specifically cooking technique, she was led to investigate the wonders of ancient alchemy.Through alchemy, and her studies with the Alchemy Guild, she shares her knowledge on how to combine spiritual practice with activities in the kitchen and beyond.Apart from her books, television appearances and writings, Iserloh continues to empower people to take a greater role in their holistic health and enjoy life more.Top 3 Hot Points:Functional Medicine vs "Traditional Doctors"The Healthy Balance of AlchemySuperfood Cooking and Slow Cooker Fun [spp-tweet tweet="Working with Superfood Nutrition with Body and Soul Alchemy with Jennifer Iserloh! So that's why Mind-Body Medicine is such a huge platform for me, and why support functional and integrative medicine.I work with these amazing healers and doctors. That's what I want to teach people because I didn't really heal from my illnesses until I heal them in the body and the emotions that are in the mindset. When you do that, you adjust your energy, everything goes up so that you can follow what your life's purpose is. and, or just, you know, have a happy family life. Just enjoy your life.People are starting to understand that this is what lifestyle medicine is, it is for medicine as holistic health. But you just have to make sure you're doing it the correct way, that you're not giving weight to one more than another. In traditional medicine, they think it's all about the body. Now, with what we've learned through science, spiritual practices, mindset, the special plant foods, I call the plant healers that heal people, it's got to be done in tandem. So it's still a paleo diet but much less meat, more vegetables, and it was dramatic the speed of which my pain resolved. My mental clarity resolved, my fatigue resolved, I began walking again. So first I want to honor that.Second I want to say is be willing to experiment, be willing to take steps you can always on to nowadays you can usually find someone that's already been down that pathway that you want to experiment with and you can see if that works for you. I think that's a great tool.Third, always keep learning because the game keeps changing all the time. Then the final piece I would say is don't underestimate the power of fixing your digestive system. My business partner is a ketogenic guy, I'm a vegetarian, we're both as far off the spectrum of mutual formats or dietary choices. We're dietary agnostic, and what I mean by that is that I think that everybody should choose the diet that works for their lifestyle, their genetics, and epigenetics. Remain flexible enough that they're willing to spend a bit of time experimenting with other things in order to see if there's something they might be able to add from some other perspective as opposed to narrowly attacking other people because they're doing something that's right for them, which I think is so asinine. Resources:bioptimizers.com Influencers Mentioned:Dr. Anthony Jay Ph.D On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="10:00"] The good news is if you're not happy with where things have led you to this point, all you have to realize is that you need to take yourself and the seed of potential and plug it into a different environment.[spp-timestamp time="20:45"] What's interesting is almost every person that I've interviewed, has produced something really cool or has gone through some sort of extreme challenge or transformation in their home life.[spp-timestamp time="30:00"] There is significant evidence that we've got major issues right now. For example, 12% of the hospital visits right now are related to gastrointestinal illness.[spp-timestamp time="39:30"] I think the Surgeon General said that 90% of the illnesses that are being treated in hospital today's are actually lifestyle-related illnesses. The problem is that the environment is so toxic to that person and that person is so poorly educated in fact, he's indoctrinated into beliefs that were guaranteed at this dysfunctional level of health or certainly what they're capable of. Plus, that there's almost no hope for that individual unless they want to make radical statements and follow people who are willing to go out and fail and try these other things and come back and say, hey, look, here's what I learned about this, try and avoid this.[spp-timestamp time="52:30"] In order for me to overcome my physical challenges, I had to correct my gastrointestinal system. I had created inflammation following a bodybuilding type diet.[spp-timestamp time="1:07:40"] Final WordsAction Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. When I started this, a lot of my colleagues thought it was nuts.[spp-timestamp time="10:00"] I pay attention to our species, their mitochondria right here and in our hearts. I want you to think about all the death and destruction that's going on around us. The number one causes of death in the United States are tied to the brain and the heart.[spp-timestamp time="15:00"] You can see a guy who's physically fit, a perfect example we can use is Kevin Cottrell. When I first met Kevin, Kevin was extremely fit but had big-time health challenges. If you look at his hormone panel, it was destroyed. Why was it destroyed when the guy looks exactly like you know, an Adonis.[spp-timestamp time="20:00"] The visual system turns out to be the single most important part of the mitochondria x existence. That's what I teach people.[spp-timestamp time="25:00"] That's when I took a trip to Michelangelo's David, because it was on my bucket list. I looked up at him and I looked at my fat ass and I said, what's the need for perfection and me? It dawned on me right away, it was circadian biology. David was created 500 years ago where there was no electric lights, there was no internet, there was none of that.[spp-timestamp time="31:00"] My big frustration is in my paradigm in medicine. People are not ready for this. Why? The system is set up to take care of sick people. Are you Chasing Your Dreams? Listen in to learn some value around committing to a Healthy Lifestyle Balance and much more!Aimee J., the host of the Chasing Dreams Podcast, has a unique background that enables her to speak from a perspective rarely seen in others. What began as a career in computer engineering, soon made its way into law, and ultimately, it ended up in contract management. However, Aimee’s deep love for pop culture and desire to help others finally found a way to merge into the form of podcasting and public speaking.Quote: I would rather regret the things that I have done than the things that I have not." - Lucille BallWith the firm belief that everyone should live without regrets, Aimee set out to inspire people to make moves, take chances, and chase their dreams. To achieve this, Aimee created the Chasing Dreams Podcast, which highlights people each week who have achieved their dreams by taking chances and delves into how the lessons learned by guests can be applied by anyone listening. There are currently over 150 episodes available, and it has been featured in the top 20 for New and Noteworthy podcasts for Business, Society & Culture, even reaching #1 in Personal Journals. [spp-tweet tweet="Become Selfless vs Selfish, Change Your #Perspective and #ChangeYourLife @aimeej21 "] Top 3 Hot Points:Become Selfless vs Selfish.Change Your Perspective, Change Your Life.Chase Your Dreams. Final Words:Life is short. That was an external thing that impacted you. You have to allow the love for the grace.[spp-timestamp time="23:20"] Shout out to the blind blogger himself, Maxwell Ivy. He called me out on a post I posted from the hospital. Max basically said, I know you're the health and fitness guy, but I think this is a great example of how you might not have been listening or paying attention to your body.[spp-timestamp time="30:00"] We're not giving our audiences and our listeners enough credit. They would probably say, hey, help yourself first. Let's become Selfless and not selfish.[spp-timestamp time="40:00"] Entrepreneurs are influencers who work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, right? That's what they need to do. I don't recommend it for everybody. There was an influencer recently on the Chasing Dreams Podcast. After blogging daily, four or five months ago, she did a special post and called it quits. She took a break because her mental health was suffering from that level of dedication.[spp-timestamp time="57:45"] If you change your perspective every now and then, you'll find that if you change your perspective, you change your life.[spp-timestamp time="01:07:15"] Final Words Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. Improve Your Habits, Level Up Your Coaching, and Add A Bet with Pavlok Founder and Author, Maneesh Sethi:Maneesh Sethi is the founder of Pavlok --- the wearable device that uses electric shock to help you break bad habits. Plagued by attention and focus issues his entire life, Maneesh decided to invent a technology to help him regain control --- and break the bad habits that held him back. Maneesh and Pavlok have been featured on the Colbert Report, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America and more. Maneesh also was the founder of Hack the System, where he showed the world how to write NYTimes Bestselling books, become a famous DJ in Berlin, start an NGO in India, travel first class for free, and more. It really only takes a day. It only took me a second once I made the most powerful bet I ever made which was my assistant Caleb.I made a bet that before I went to bed I would write down three things I would do tomorrow and that the bet would auto recur forever. Once I made that one bet, my life has completely changed.I'm not saying you should start off with a humongous bet, there is power in auto-recurring and we can talk about that another time. There is so much power of just a small bet with a friend, PLEASE if you're listening to this, do it try it out. Then, shoot me, Maneesh, an email with exactly what happened and I'll do a giveaway! Whereas people who are focused, have to have things waved in their face to get their attention.[spp-timestamp time="14:00"] There's a circadian rhythm, which is your hormonal balances. You know very well that human beings are not designed to be awake at 11 pm, yet somehow with the invention of light bulbs, we are. Therefore, there are things that can change and psychology is not owned by hormones. Psychology is in the moment and hormones are in balance. Circadian rhythms are a long term thing.[spp-timestamp time="10:40"] When we first launched, it was going to be about a forming good habits product. Rapidly, we discovered that our product was the best in the world bar none for breaking BAD habits. We approach the problem of bad habits in a very fundamentally different way.[spp-timestamp time="20:30"] It's about having somebody else be their boss, or in this case, their accountability buddy. For me, as the CEO of a habit change company and a CEO with pretty bad habits, I was spending a lot of my time dilly-dallying and wasting time on Facebook, chatting on messenger, etc. I really needed a boss. So when I first started a company, the idea came because I hired a girl to sit down next to me and SLAP me in the face every time I wasted time.[spp-timestamp time="31:00"] We have two programs. One is a habit coaching, and one is entrepreneurial coaching. We basically bring you to work with our coach, they do exactly what I just told you and make sure you get stuff done. The second thing we have is habit coaching. We support coaches, so we help you with either a specific habit or simply helping establish good life coaching and good habits in general.[spp-timestamp time="36:00"] I need this help too, as much as everybody. I'm very open about my own problems around my qualms and I often share my own computer usage, or my rescue time scores and all that stuff.[spp-timestamp time="43:00"] Final Words Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. They offer a variety of online programs, courses, and services. [spp-tweet tweet="Pro Body Builder, Doctor, and Transforming Your Life! That's why we're so excited about the online programs that we offer. Especially if you're older, don't give up on yourself. That's why the title of my book is "Debut A New You, Transforming Your Life At Any Age". There are so many variants of the high protein focus, but the whole key for most women is they can't deal with many carbs unless they happen to be the thin variants, that naturally thin variant without the hunger gene.[spp-timestamp time="10:00"] Carbs are very fast acting. If you're doing an athletic event, then you're going to get a real quick response. You have a slower energy source if you're just relying on fats. So that's probably what you experienced on the hills.[spp-timestamp time="15:30"] So I started weightlifting and being really careful with my eating at age 59. I'm 64 now. So almost five years ago, girl, I've got good guns now.[spp-timestamp time="21:50"] The beauty of weightlifting and being conditioned is that it tightens the skin. I can't even explain the science behind it. It happens after women lose weight and men too. You often feel like a Shar-Pei dog, with skin hanging all over the place. If you just keep lifting weights, it tightens up, I didn't believe it at first too. That's what happened to my abdominal situation. I lost 12 inches and had all of this stuff hanging, we call that medicine that Panniculus. That all tightened up like a panel, that's a lower abdominal flap.[spp-timestamp time="25:00"] We are so inundated with sugar, that we have numbed your palate. That's even the problem with diet sodas. They are not benign they're wiring your brain for sweetness, excessive sweetness. I just finally got rid of artificial sweeteners in the past year and it was a struggle. It was harder to give up then a lot of other things.[spp-timesta

251: Working in Chiang Mai and Smart Brand Marketing

World Travel, Working Overseas, Chang Mai Life, Online Marketing and Podcasting with Tom Libelt:TOM LIBELT learned from a young age how to sell and negotiate business by getting haggled by Russian vendors. His family moved from Poland to the US to escape communism, and his parents took any job they could to survive. Seeing all this as a young man motivated him to never want a job and keep moving forward as an entrepreneur, publisher, salesman, and one of the top Polish hip hop artists.Tom spends most of his time in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He runs Smart Brand Marketing and We Market Online Courses. Tom seems like one of those guys with the Midas Touch, where everything he works on turns into gold. He has published around 5000 Kindle books, built a successful SEO & online course marketing business, partnered with a Muay Thai champion, owned a coffee shop, a retail store, a record label, created a documentary, and released two albums with five hits on top ten Polish radio. All of it was bootstrapped and done with zero outside funding.Quote:“If you can’t sell, then you’re not in business. Marketing and Sales are the backbone of a company.” - Tom Libelt [spp-tweet tweet="If You Don't Know How To Sell, You're Not In Business! You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @tomlibelt "] Top 3 Hot Points:Living and Working Abroad Is AffordableSmart Branding and Marketing Is Not Fast and EasyIf You Don't Know How To Sell, You're Not In Business Final Words:The only thing I always tell people in business, especially if they're not successful yet, is if you don't know how to sell, you're not in business. You must figure out what you're selling, and who you're selling to. Resources:SmartBrandMarketing.com@TomLibelt on Twitter@SBMPodcast on Facebook Influencers Mentioned:Russell Brunson of ClickFunnelsLost Boyz on iTunesAlicia KeysJohn Lee Dumas On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="01:40"] Hip Hop, I didn't know that was the thing. I mean, obviously, hip hop exists everywhere. It's almost like the national music in Poland.[spp-timestamp time="05:40"] I was independent, but I've worked at one of the bigger Studios. I got to meet my heroes, I met the Lost Boyz, Alicia Keys, and more![spp-timestamp time="11:00"] I have a good group of people with a lot of backbone, probably 150 people making good money. But I find that these wannabes, these ones, that are making $300 to $1,000 per month... There's a lot of that softness, vegan hippie, and goddesses walking around.[spp-timestamp time="22:00"] Amazon controls some businesses completely. I had this stance on Walmart, just like you before, but a few years ago, I took a road trip from Chicago to Vegas. On the way, I stopped in at places that I would have never stopped otherwise. All because they were just on the way locally in a few of these towns.[spp-timestamp time="30:40"] You know, we lost probably $20,000 four or five years ago.[spp-timestamp time="40:50"] Pat Flynn, one of his favorite books is Essentialism. It's the same concept as John Lee Dumas. I've spoken with him as I've had him on the podcast. I've spoken with him at the World Domination Summit.[spp-timestamp time="50:30"] There's a huge group in the online marketing space, of people who come in and try to get quick money. Then, they just can't make it and just disappear. Nothing against Click Funnels as it works for some people, but everybody's obsessed with Click Funnels right now. It doesn't promote a long term approach.[spp-timestamp time="01:16:40"] This is the thing that you notice in any industry, anywhere in the world, someone like you that's had some knowledge is probably not going to start talking much. But the biggest idiot on the block that hasn't seen anything, always has an opinion.[spp-timestamp time="01:41:15"] Final Words Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. A partially collapsed lung is no joke. I did find out from a good friend of mine, that her son's girlfriend last year was finishing a softball tournament championship and the same exact injury happened to her because she was a tall, lanky, lean athlete. Now granted, I'm 41, so they're not expecting this type of stuff. I guess that's the fun of me being a health and fitness junkie, is I could survive a lung collapse better than most but you can still get injured. So again, last part of the big picture message here. Take care of yourself. Focus on self-care, what you put in is what you get out regarding nutrition. It's important but also proper rest, and recovery, along with proper mindset, stress relief, and bringing the cortisol levels down.I was pulling out all the stops and I'm still pulling out all the stops so I can bounce back as fast and as healthy as possible. Resources:Scott Mulvaney & LIVETHEFUEL on TwitterScott Mulvaney & LIVETHEFUEL on FacebookScott Mulvaney & LIVETHEFUEL on InstagramScott W. I did see a chiropractor then and they put the rib back into alignment a few days later with none of this aftermath. I was fine, no major fits of coughing back then. But we're not. You are exactly who you're supposed to be. You're exactly where you're supposed to be. If you want to make the future better, you have to make choices to get better, right? You have to take that first step towards growth, you have to take that first step towards the goal because you're not going to get that goal overnight! All that matters is really the journey and so what I say to everybody is it doesn't matter where you come from, and it doesn't even matter where you are right now, what matters are the decisions you're making today to move forward. Whether that's going to live events, as we talked about, whether that's listening to this podcast. Whatever it is, you're making the right choice right now. I mean one key factor from that learning from The Mastery Journal is setting up my morning routine. I guess that's really been lacking for me in the last year because I've kind of been I've jumped into this business. That was kind of my priority. From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep, that was what I live, breathe, and slipped my business.I did notice over time, that your energy levels aren't the highest. You are probably not getting that full round happiness that you want in the other aspects of life as well. So I think in 2019, if there's any kind of wisdom that I could leave you with or any kind of tips, I would reverse engineer what makes you happy. It's not just about work, it's got to incorporate your loved ones, your friends, your health things that mean a lot to you. What does happiness look like for you and then work back from that because I think that's what's helped me with my morning routine and helps me be more productive with my time. I'd just be really pragmatic about that and be non-negotiable. These are things that I want to do in the morning for me, set your day up around you rather than being subject to other people's wants and needs and demand. So I think that's what I could leave you, it's really about figuring out what makes you happy and then work back from that. Resources:GinniMedia.comTheGinniShow.com@GinniSaraswati on Linkedin@TheGinniShow on Twitter@TheGinniShow on Facebook@TheGinniShow Instagram Influencers Mentioned:The Mastery Journal by John Lee Dumas On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="07:25"] The Hump Day Crew and Rise Up Radio. And I can think of back when I was in the Navy, you could tell somebody that was new on the aircraft carrier because they would climb all the way up to the superstructure to watch the planes take off and land and then after about three days you're like it's normal I'm not going to do all that but yet you get off the ship and people like to watch the planes not just ordinary to me we underestimate what we know and just remember what's ordinary to you is amazing to others and today it's never been easier to share that with somebody to help them with it as a podcast host as a podcast guests on social media whatever you do you know help people connect with them introduce a new person a new idea to them it'll make their life better and it will make your life better too. Resources:InterviewValet.com/livethefuelThomas Schwab on LinkedIn@InterviewValey on Twitter@TMSchwab on Twitter@ThomasSchwab on Facebook@InterviewValet on Instagram Influencers Mentioned:Bill Troy of ClicksandGary Vaynerchuk On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="09:00"] Strategy and more strategy, or why are we doing this?[spp-timestamp time="19:17"] We had a client and there's a great book out there called Clicksand how digital marketing is ruining your business by Bill Troy. And I think people will come back and point to that book and say he was the first one that said the emperor has no clothes. And his point was, is that a lot of what is being sold is vanity metrics. And it's hurting your business. I love how he said in there that whales don't click. And big fish don't go through funnels, right. If you think you're going to sell the CEO or the CFO of a company on your tripwire product in order for him to come in, and then, you know, give you that that million dollar contract. It's not going to happen.[spp-timestamp time="31:00"] There are some people that like Gary Vaynerchuk, who was one of those early ones that did a podcast and video. I mean, we've got some that are, you know, spokespersons for Fortune 500 companies. Other ones are authors that are just starting out, you know, some of them, are keynote presenters. So, it's not like you take them all through the same thing. But as we do some practice interviews, we will point that out. Food Drama and Learning To Stock To Your Diet and Healthy Lifestyle:Erin Wathen (WATH- EN) is a holistic health coach, food abuse counselor, and the inspiring author of Why Can’t I Stick to My Diet?: How To End The Food Drama. Her philosophy, simply put: Health isn’t a number on the scale or how often we exercise, but our lives as a whole.Several years ago, Erin was not at peace with her body -- despite her wealth of knowledge on diet and exercise. She was always on a diet, and yet never reached her goal weight. As a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Food Addiction Counselor, Erin was well versed in the science behind health. As a Certified Spinning® Instructor, Vinyasa Yoga instructor, and Classical Pilates instructor, she understood the mechanics of health and fitness as well. Through a lot of trial and error, Erin found true nutrition to be the missing piece of the puzzle. It was then that Erin started her last diet, which ultimately became her food plan and the basis of her health coaching program, as well as her book "Why Can’t I Stick to My Diet?" [spp-tweet tweet="You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @ErinWathen "] Top 3 Hot Points:Clarifying Food relating to the Food Plate vs Food PyramidGut Health and BiologyFood Plate vs Food Pyramid Final Words:My all-encompassing message is, "it's just food. It's not your whole life. The whole story comes together when I was trying to use diet to fix issues in my health, which is really relating to our fundamental mitochondrial.[spp-timestamp time="44:00"] I basically tell people is imagine that you took your car and you open up the hood and you pour tar all over the engine.[spp-timestamp time="54:00"] In the world of the gadgets and all these things, and I didn't know that I didn't realize just how big of a deal that is. But now seeing my little brother and his friends, and how much time they spend on their devices, and all my adult friends too. [spp-timestamp time="59:00"] The Romans knew about sun and health. They had solariums where they could sun themselves and built their houses open to the sky. Likewise, this was common for a long time architecture to lead in more natural lighting. Eventually, with the advent of artificial lighting, people believe that it had the same impact as far as our bodies because they didn't know about the health impacts they just thought lighting was lighting.[spp-timestamp time="01:19:00"] Once I started loading up on seafood, good quality spring water, and morning sun exposure, I was able to start absorbing more sunlight in tanning and getting a really nice color of my skin. So we can change our biology anyway. Avoid manmade EMF. So basically avoid manmade EMF.[spp-timestamp time="01:38:00"] Final Words Quote: "If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable" - Seneca[spp-tweet tweet="The power of the sun, the dangers of artificial light, blue blockers, and more! @livethefuel "]Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SYg6Wu4y4o] Co-Host Links and Resources:mattmaruca.com@TheLightDiet on Instagramraoptics.io@RaOpticsBlueBlockers on Facebook Mentioned Influencers:Jack KruseSeneca The PhilosopherTim Ferriss Final Words:From Seneca, the old stoic philosopher, he said, if one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind can be favorable. 241: Inflammation, Disease, BioTe Hormones, and Integrative Medicine

A Healthy Podcast on Inflammation, Disease, BioTe Hormones, Gut Health, Microbiome, Integrative Medicine, and More: Stephanie Gray, DNP, MS, ARNP, ANP-C, GNP-C, ABAAHP, FAARFM, is a functional medicine provider who helps men and women build sustainable and optimal health and longevity so that they can focus on what matters most to them! She has been working as a nurse practitioner since 2009. She completed her doctorate focusing on estrogen metabolism from the University of Iowa in 2011. Additionally, she has a Masters in Metabolic Nutritional Medicine from the University of South Florida’s Medical School. Her expertise lies within integrative, anti-aging, and functional medicine. She is arguably one of the Midwest's’ most credentialed female healthcare providers combining many certifications and training. She completed an Advanced fellowship in Anti-Aging Regenerative and Functional Medicine in 2013. She became the first BioTe certified provider for hormones in Iowa to administer hormone pellets also in 2013. She is the author of the FNP Mastery App and an Amazon best selling author of her book Your Longevity Blueprint. She is the co-founder of Your Longevity Blueprint nutraceuticals with her husband, Eric. They own the Integrative Health and Hormone Clinic in Hiawatha, Iowa.Visit, YourLongevityBlueprint.com and use our discount code "THANKSFUEL" On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="08:00"] I think because I'm in the Midwest and there are a lot of baby boomers here, we need more providers, we need what nurse practitioners are often called, which is a mid-level provider. They're desperate for help. I think that's part of why maybe we have more rights and more autonomy. Iowa has allowed me to really build an integrative or functional medicine practice. There's no guarantee that I could have found a true medical doctor who would have allowed me to practice under them this in this manner.[spp-timestamp time="14:00"] A fireman versus a carpenter approach, describes conventional, or you could say traditional medicine, as being more the fire department. The fire department is used to put out the fire. A chiropractor is then the carpenter approach to move forward with.[spp-timestamp time="15:00"] You're not always taught how to prevent future fires, right? That's where what we do comes in, we're a functional medicine provider, a contractor or Carpenter as I discussed in my book. We are helping patients build a healthier body using functional medicine principles because we want to get to the root cause. We want to determine if the patient has inflammation and figure out those triggers. We want to help put out that fire without hopefully having to use drugs and surgery.[spp-timestamp time="19:00"] A Carnivore Study? I want to go off on a tangent now. I am very curious what happens to hormones and what happens to nutritional deficiencies on that sort of diet?[spp-timestamp time="23:39"] I had endometriosis, which I'm going to talk more about in my second book. I did utilize some of the conventional medicine but I use a lot of functional medicine to help with fertility. I've been gluten-free for I don't even know how many years, five years maybe. I'm not free of all grains but I am 100% gluten-free and I needed to go dairy-free as well.[spp-timestamp time="35:00"] Terry Wahls is a good friend and colleague, her working knowledge base is ridiculous. She's someone who reversed her autoimmune condition. She was wheelchair bound with MS - Multiple Sclerosis and was essentially sent home to die. So she did her own research, being she was conventionally trained, she sought out functional medicine and now she's in the best shape of her life. She feels amazing.[spp-timestamp time="43:00"] It's all about gut health. It's all about getting back to the inflammation. You mentioned punching that fire out and for autoimmune diseases specifically, that's what Terry Wahls' book is all about. It is getting the inflammatory foods out of her gut to really reverse her condition.[spp-timestamp time="45:30"] Chefs in the cooking world do not fully understand microbiome, gut biology, and how food allergies actually work. Sugar tastes good, sugars are addicting, so that's why they want you to come back.[spp-timestamp time="53:00"] There are a time and place where with some patients, there's not a lot they can do nutritionally. If they don't have the organs necessary to produce the hormones in their symptomatic, they may need hormones. Topical gels and creams, they're not my favorite, as they're not the preferred forms. Injectables, those are all synthetic, so I do not like offer those. Then there are sublingual lozenges you can put on your tongue but with BioTe, I believe this is the most potent and safest delivery method. BioTe, Bio-Identical Testosterone Estrogen delivered in hormone pellets.[spp-timestamp time="01:12:00"] Final Words Your greatest we

Bear Creek, Blue Mountain, Camelback, etc.[spp-timestamp time="11:45"] He's more of a karate kid, individual sports karate.[spp-timestamp time="15:15"] I had a come to Jesus moment with my PT. Marathon Maniac. What I love about running is for people who are, strong, high energy, like both of us. It is this idea that calms you down and you're able to maybe get rid of some anxiety. After many injuries and after running six marathons...[spp-timestamp time="20:09"] I love Flow. Side note, Steven Kotler who's written books about flow has been on the podcast. A famous quote, And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years, quoted by Abraham Lincoln.Quote:"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."~ Abraham Lincoln[spp-timestamp time="24:20"] I have mad respect for vegans because I do understand from the environmental global warming standpoint, like, Whoa, I get it.[spp-timestamp time="25:37"] Flow is defined as, where what you're doing is just a little bit past where we are competent, and you're just sucked in, so time disappears...[spp-timestamp time="29:20"] I like to call that high performance. It's a gift, it's Flow.[spp-timestamp time="32:55"] Geeking out on stainless steel cups and now straws.[spp-timestamp time="35:55"] Marathon training do's, don'ts, injuries, and recoveries.[spp-timestamp time="38:30"] OESH Shoes[spp-timestamp time="40:30"] You have to try something called Balanced Athlete, which is similar to CrossFit. I believe it is way better because you're actually in your bare feet. They're not all about quantity, they're about quality.[spp-timestamp time="45:40"] Connecting on Julian Kaufmann and his Flow related book, Let Go Let It Flow.[spp-timestamp time="45:40"] I geek out about Flow because of Positive Psychology and being in the state where things feel right. I think it's wonderful how CrossFit has this community and Runners have it too, it comes down to knowing yourself.[spp-timestamp time="51:30"] There's the classic wheel of life that I think every self-development conference you ever go to mentions. You have your wheel, and then you have your different spokes...[spp-timestamp time="52:28"] It's all on your mindset. That's the whole positive psychology. Well, one of the domains mentioned was eating fat, David Perlmutter is great at influencing that.[spp-timestamp time="57:25"] They say people with ADHD at companies are three times more productive. Chiropractic changed Dr. Barter’s life. When she was in initially introduced to chiropractic (in her early 20’s) she was skeptical. The more educated she became in the art of chiropractic, the more interested and intrigued she became, until she finally asked for an adjustment from a family friend who practices chiropractic. The treatment was like magic. He not only adjusted her spine but also her feet, hips, knees, wrists, and elbows. She felt new and light, like a better version of herself. He also took extra time to put her on a specific dietary protocol and nutritional regimen, from which she realized major positive changes. She excelled academically, experienced less gastrointestinal upset, reduced brain-fog, lost weight, and started to enjoy activities like hiking, because her foot mechanics had been changed.Dr. Barter has been active in athletics her entire life. 236: The LionHeart and Burn Your Couch

Time To Burn Your Couch with LionHeart Radio's Rick Alexander! Rick is a writer, speaker and performance coach. He's also the author of Burn Your Couch available on Amazon! As an ex-special operations veteran and ultra-endurance athlete, Rick crafts content to help lead people through adversity and into a life of meaning. You can hear his ideas on his podcast LionHeart Radio which air's Monday through Friday or by picking up a copy of his debut book, Burn Your Couch. (BurnYourCouch.com) On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:10"] Introduction and a regular co-host shout out to Dr. Megan Cannon, Sports Psychologist for getting Rick and Scott introduced. Plus Scott knocks Rick’s bio intro and killed it![spp-timestamp time="04:00"] It's interesting because if you let the wrong thing get into the driver's seat when you're going through your life, it's going to make you miserable. It goes back to that classic quote like how are you supposed to move forward if you're always living behind or something like that. It's one of these is something different manifestations of that quote, but it's is so true.[spp-timestamp time="06:24"] Why do you have to go back? If you served, then you have that honor and that respect. You can move on to start a whole new chapter.[spp-timestamp time="08:00"] Three of the most top psychologically strenuous things that you can go through in your life.[spp-timestamp time="14:00"] That's the thing, an existential crisis we've made that you literally ignore your call to adventure and you continue to do the things that you think you're supposed to do or you have all these obligations that are essentially self-imposed, right?[spp-timestamp time="18:00"] If you're really growth minded, that kind of a lifestyle is rough, and I don't wish it on anybody, because it means you got to leave relationships, leave jobs and you leave states. If you're going to honor the process of what growth really requires, that means that you are going to grow away from certain things that are really comfortable in it and that you might enjoy.[spp-timestamp time="20:45"] I think that it's entirely possible to find people that you're going to grow with. It's just way harder.[spp-timestamp time="22:52"] One of the mindset shifts for me that it was a literal life changer was focusing on what you do want vs you don't want. Something that's really changed my life so you know, I don't want to go broke is much different than I want to make six figures this year, right?[spp-timestamp time="25:20"] Preconceived notions and ideas. Cognitive researchers believe that you don't know about 95% of what goes on in your own brain.[spp-timestamp time="27:00"] Writing is a process where there's not a lot of validation.[spp-timestamp time="31:20"] We're in a culture of doers, so you just keep doing, and doing, the path just keeps getting further and further away from where you really want to be at times.[spp-timestamp time="33:29"] You need to protect your energy, you can end up somewhere miserable, burnt out and exhausted. Then you're going to hate what you're doing because I've literally gone down that road of hustle.“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” ... “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” ~ Carl Jung[spp-timestamp time="37:00"] History of LionHeart. We had all CrossFit athletes that we sponsored, which is why we started the show.[spp-timestamp time="42:52"] I found the beauty in life which is outside of rigidity.[spp-timestamp time="44:04"] It's serendipitous. The morning coffee podcast episodes on LionHeart.[spp-timestamp time="46:00"] I kept denying that call to adventure and because of that, I delayed what I really wanted to be doing in this world by years. It was painful and if I really fought to get that out there. Burn Your Coach was released a year ago, it was essentially the idea behind that which is a lot of what we're talking about. Most people mistake being comfortable for being happy and those two things just aren't the same.[spp-timestamp time="47:51"] Who are the people you're surrounding yourself with? Who are the inner circles that you're allowing your manifestation to take with? Setting big hairy audacious goals normally does not come from the old circles of influence, they come from the new circles of influence that you're allowing into your life.[spp-timestamp time="48:11"] I got out of the military at 12 years. Everybody said you got to do eight more years. The only thing I could think about is eight years to do a job that you're unhappy with when you know there's an entire life you want to be doing.[spp-timestamp time="50:39"] I just finished recording the audiobook literally yesterday. It's a ridiculous process.[spp-timestamp time="51:23"] There are some great books like former

Okay, if you just go from a seven to a nine, chances are, you are going to go from 50 grand to something approaching 100 grand, at least now you're in a job, and you're phoning it in, and your bosses like, Imagine if you're nine out of 10, and all of a sudden, you come in, you go, Hey, I got this great idea for this thing. Let's do this. Well, you start selling more, or you start going the extra mile, your chances of getting up promotion increase exponentially. which results in could be $10,000 more, $25,000 more. Maybe you all of a sudden go I'm too big for this damn company. I'm so damn good. I'm going to put myself on the market. And then another company comes in and hires you and offers you 120,000.[spp-timestamp time="32:54"] I'm an entrepreneur, you're an entrepreneur, and especially with entrepreneurs who have the ability to go out and just create their own universe, you know, I mean, everyone can, but I like talking to entrepreneurs. There's a there's a guy called Kevin who is in my program I have called Project 90 and Project 90 is essentially, coaches, entrepreneurs who drink into quitting alcohol for at least 90 days. There's a wonderful woman there by the name of Mary Lanning and she helps give back for the past 47 years making 2000+ meals, which this year we did 2500 hot meals going to the streets to give back. Go listen to that episode 232 to learn a little bit more. There was another powerful organization we got to work with on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, which was the Tunnel 2 Towers program. That's an amazing organization giving back to people whether it be military, police, fire, first founders, etc. This whole program was started thanks to the Stephen Siller Foundation, which was named after a New York City fallen firefighter who died in the 911 World Trade Center Towers collapse. So again, check out Episode 232.</li>  <li>[spp-timestamp time="02:35"] I think we should be good to our fellow man, no matter what day or week or month it is. But this episode is especially targeted to a very special member of our family, Calvin The Coonhound. That's my dog, and not just my dog, it's actually my fiancé’s dog. It was really her dog for five years before I met her and then the past five years that we've been building our relationship together. Obviously Calvin became, we’ll call it my son, as well, since we don't have human children. Calvin is our child. I never would have called him that until the tragic experiences that we've been going through this past month.</li>  <li>I wanted to do a podcast to reflect on that because I think I underestimate sometimes the impact of people, individuals and yes, even animals on our lives. That's what I wanted this episode to really do for you all, was to get you guys to pause and reflect. So I thought what the heck let me share some personal components out of my life for you all because isn't that what podcasting is all about?! We should be getting more intimate, I should be letting you guys deeper into my life. I mean, over the past 200+ shows, I know I've definitely softened things up and let you guys in on my little romantic adventures and how basically my head was up by butt as I was fighting to fall in love with my now fiancé. So for those of you haven't followed on social media, Calvin has not been having a good go the past couple months.</li>  <li>[spp-timestamp time="04:46"] For the past few years he's been an amazing companion I loved taking him mountain biking and Kristen my fiancé was worried that as he was getting older, I might be overworking him. I ride pretty fast as a mountain biker, I've done a few races over the years, I don't like to go slow. So Calvin likes to run with me and he's happy to get after it with me so that's why he and I have our own special bond which is different than hers, ha-ha!</li>  <li>[spp-timestamp time="05:38"] She took him to the park couple of months ago where he loves to be typical Calvin, he sprints across one of the baseball fields or soccer fields and he does this weird dipping of his shoulder and then just slides into the grass. Then he rolls over and just likes to rub his hair in the grass, it's a dog thing. I sometimes I feel like as human beings we should take a page from their book and learn how simple life can be for happiness. So maybe next time its wintertime maybe when you're in the snow, drop that shoulder and just roll around through the snow.</li>  <li>Anyway, he goes to do this and all of a sudden Kristen said he just let out this god awful YELP and did not want to get up. He's a pretty tough dude. Now granted he's as we're recording this here in November 2018, a 10-year-old dog. So if this whole math in dog years is accurate, that is 70-years-old, supposedly it's a seven to one ratio. So she was worried because he's a 90-95 pound Coonhound and granted m

232: Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving & NY Charities

A Happy Thanksgiving Charities Themed Podcast Today: Happy Thanksgiving and a whole lot of charity work on this cold and thankful holiday in New York. Your host, Scott, shares this year's charities and support messages to be thankful this season. Special shoutouts to Tunnel 2 Towers with the Stephen Siller Foundation.Another shoutout to Mary Lanning of her Yes! Solutions in NYC and the many years of serving hot meals to the streets of Harlem with the StreetCorner Gourmets. Stay tuned for a follow-up episode with Brian Strauser of the Strauser Project when we dig deeper into our Staten Island experiences before attending this year's all-nighter creating over 2000 hot meals with the StreetCorner Gourmets family. Facebook LIVE From New York City: On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="01:15"] Beards and No Shave November vs Movember.[spp-timestamp time="01:45"] In the USA, we have Thanksgiving. So about eight years ago, I stumbled across a wonderful woman by the name of Mary landing in New York City. This was after my first year of firefighting after I left the corporate space.[spp-timestamp time="03:06"] StreetCorner Gourmets has been going on for 47 years. I just finished my fire season, she loved hearing that story. I said, I'll be back and give me your contact information. I'm going to come up and I'm gonna volunteer with you, your family, and these people you gather every year to create such a powerful impact.[spp-timestamp time="04:35"] 2000 meals made from scratch, Thanksgiving meals that we create in a commercial kitchen with volunteer work, then taken to the streets, and we serve them hot on the street Thanksgiving morning.[spp-timestamp time="06:12"] Shoutout to Brian Strauser of the Strauser Project, he's been on the show a couple times over the years. He was inspired to join me this year. Another tradition I'm going to throw in here for you guys is we also attempt to do a mountain bike ride every Thanksgiving day morning.[spp-timestamp time="07:00"] Sleep deprivation is not healthy for us.[spp-timestamp time="07:59"] I got changed in the parking lot, freezing my butt off. This annual ride is called the Jaeger ride. It is inspired by Jaegermeister, the liquor, if you choose not to drink, it's okay.[spp-timestamp time="08:53"] Brian had his own powerful event that we're going to bring up on another one of our upcoming shows. A powerful organization out of New York ever since 911, and the loss of the twin towers. Thousands of people and thousands of first responders who had died, triggered an organization that rose from the ashes, The Stephen Siller Foundation[spp-timestamp time="10:46"] Stephen Siller Foundation stepped up. Their tagline is the Tunnel 2 Towers organization and it's a story of Stephen Siller, a fallen FDNY member who was off duty the day of 911. He tried getting to the tower, grabbed 70 pounds of gear, his clothing, his equipment, ran from the tunnel to the towers.[spp-timestamp time="11:10"] Stephen Sillers Foundation steps up, who is Stephen from 9/11?[spp-timestamp time="13:40"] A cold Thanksgiving in 2018, that we have a lot to be thankful for. In the end, what is the purpose behind all of that what are you doing, to drive all of that.[spp-timestamp time="14:20"] Final Words We Bring Belonging Back. - Mary Lanning Yes! 231: Inspiring Your Superior Self, Baltimore, and Blue Collar Life

Baltimore Resident, Blue Collar Influencer, Inspiring Your Superior Self: Host of Your Superior Self, Trey Downes is a thirty-something-year-old dad of three living in the suburbs of Baltimore, MD. His wife, Marisa, is a labor and delivery nurse and together they are striving, like most working-class families, to find happiness and balance.Growing up in a small town in Delaware, Trey recounted the working-class culture cycle: You are a union worker for the same company your father worked for and your grandfather worked for before him. You clock in and out for 30 years, going through the motions until you retire.Trey discovered that he was in the majority among his peers and launched YYS with a mission to break that cycle, successfully cultivating an inspirational community for people looking for a path to self-growth. The concept behind YSS pays tribute to Trey’s favorite author, Ernest Hemingway, and his infamous quote:“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow men.True nobility lies in being superior to your former self.” On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="03:00"] Hardcore History with Dan Carlin.[spp-timestamp time="08:40"] Does today's generation have that type of commitment? It's always what is owed to me.[spp-timestamp time="12:25"] Airwalk shoes and Jnco jeans.[spp-timestamp time="15:30"] Wrestlers, the Briscoe Brothers[spp-timestamp time="19:31"] I am trying to reach like the blue collar workers, the blue collar entrepreneurs.[spp-timestamp time="24:47"] Reading physics book as a blue collar guy. He's on the treadmill right now. He's on cruise control. I'm like, Look, man, we are the creators of our own success. Wake up to it.[spp-timestamp time="33:15"] I think people don't understand the power of getting a properly tailored dress shirt.[spp-timestamp time="35:48"] Quote, Live Life To The Fullest by Ernest Hemingway. I actually want to know what is the moment in his life that inspired that quote.[spp-timestamp time="42:44"] If I could do this, I can do anything.[spp-timestamp time="46:08"] So what was your breaking point? What was your Ernest Hemingway moment? What was your reasoning for saying, you know what I'm done?[spp-timestamp time="54:07"] That's the goal, right? To build ourselves into person that we want to be on any day, we could fall back any day. But you have to keep the strength inside of you, you have to keep the passion. You have to keep the disciplines that you do every day to keep pushing you and building yourself into that role that you want to be in or that person that you want to be.[spp-timestamp time="57:34"] That helps you understand a little more about how I set out balance in my life. I didn't know these things, back to your point, right? I had to put in all these different reps.[spp-timestamp time="59:50"] Dog walkers making $100,000 per year, blue collar?![spp-timestamp time="01:06:07"] 30 more years? 25 more years? A freakin retirement clock on my phone that lets you know what I'm gonna retire like, Are you kidding me?[spp-timestamp time="01:15:15"] Final Words Don't wish it was easier, wish you were better. - Jim Rohn[spp-tweet tweet="True nobility lies in being superior to your former self. Like, for me, it was I didn't think that was would be a podcaster, I had a dream that I wanted to make a difference in the world. I wanted to voice my opinions about self growth and self betterment. I just took one step, I went to Google and YouTube, searched how to be a podcaster and I learned how to put a show together and a website and now I'm over here talking to Scott getting after it about self betterment, self growth. So don't be afraid to take that step and don't hesitate because the more time that you take, the less opportunity to get better or faster it's you know, you're you're losing time and I the biggest regret that I have is is not starting sooner so that's that's pretty much it man like just get after it. Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 228: Dr. Jay’s Carnivore Diet Study & Telomeres

Dr. Anthony Jay Returns To Talk About The Carnivore Diet and His Carnivore Study: Are you a true Carnivore, are you ready to commit to a 100% Carnivore Study?! Dr. Anthony G. Jay PhD returns for another health podcast episode. He’s definitely a healthy influencer when it comes to DNA, genetic research, and the ability to analyze your 23andMe health data. You can learn about on that from our past podcast episode 177: My 23andMe Supplement Health DNA Analysis with Dr. Anthony Jay.Dr. Jay has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and he researches stem cells and epigenetics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is also the president of the AJ Consulting Company which provides personalized diet, sleep, and training programs based on DNA. Dr. Jay is the author of a bestselling book on artificial estrogen chemicals and is an expert on hormones, fats, and cholesterol. His book is called “Estrogeneration: How Estrogenics Are Making You Fat, Sick, and Infertile.” On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="03:00"] The Glutathione component is a necessary supplement to aid my body in its detoxicification process is that accurate? Yeah for you specifically it's more important than normal. It clears heavy metals and it clears just a lot of different products that you know are toxic like you said and just the fact that your body's not producing as much as it should as much as a normal person based on your DNA.[spp-timestamp time="05:30"] Dr. Jay just got a new on reverse osmosis filter system and stainless steel tank. It's a tankless reverse osmosis which is kind of cool. Most of them have like a plastic storage tank where they keep the water.[spp-timestamp time="11:30"] Something called Carnosine. Actually plants don't make Carnosine. You can't find if you're a pure vegetarian, you're not eating any Carnosine. So let's, let's dive into this right. So we're talking about Carnivore now.[spp-timestamp time="12:15"] I think there's so much science we just don't know you know, most people think that that we were so far along in science we just know everything but I really don't. When you run these mass spectroscopy studies, there's thousands of different compounds. In reality, there's probably thousands of different things we're getting when we're consuming meat and we're consuming them in a balanced form, and not some isolated one substance form and that is supplementation.[spp-timestamp time="15:00"] Telomere tests, your telmore age, and carnivore mascot, Dr. Shawn Baker.[spp-timestamp time="16:13"] I respect people's lifestyle choices. I respect their faiths , I don't talk about religion on this show. If you choose a vegan lifestyle because of your love of animals, okay, I get it, but then just make sure you are aware that you better supplement the heck out of that lifestyle because it is not a 100% lifestyle. We are naturally omnivores. Great book, omnivores dilemma is a classic first thing I ever learned about the word on the board from and again, I'm a huge advocate.[spp-timestamp time="17:00"] A lot of people on the Carnivore Diet are super zealous about it too. I think the zealots are difficult because they're not really open to what's good. They're just picking a side and they're sticking to it, no matter what. They don't really care about the logic or the arguments. I mean, you can find that pretty much anywhere, but it seems to be super concentrated in the vegan community, it is not every vegan, but definitely there's a lot of them out there that are really social media trolls.[spp-timestamp time="18:40"] I've become a advocate for moving on from the word diet. Vinnie Tortorich cares a lot about with his whole NSNG Lifestyle. Trademarking his No Sugars No Grains as this not a diet it's a lifestyle. So I'm intrigued that if once you progress through this research, we could finally bring it to the point where this is a lifestyle. Diet, thanks to magazines and bro-science has become a short-term mental thing. The psychology piece here is like guys, we're trying to teach you a sustainable lifestyle. Well, that's the funny thing about this is I'm (Dr. Jay) actually not teaching anybody sustainable lifestyle. I just want it to be a diet for this study.[spp-timestamp time="21:00"] I don't think people need to carry on forever, some people will want to, and it will be beneficial for them. But most importantly, from my perspective, is I want to see some data, you know, I want to see how their telomeres change. That's kind of the foundation of this study, but we're also doing blood work before and after, and then we can translate that into people that really need it. We can say okay, this is a good diet for people or a lifestyle for people that have autoimmune problems. i.e. Anna Vocino the co-host of Fitness Confidential who lives with Celiac Disease. She's the author of the Eat Happy Cookbook.[spp-timestamp time="22:50"] Is it plants or is it possibly the chemical

227: Create The Space & Get Your Dream Life

Today We Learn To Create The Space with Guest Co-Host Denise Walsh: Can you create space in your life for more balance to get your dream life? Denise Walsh has helped over a million people find their purpose and fulfill on their god-given destiny. She started her career by working with families at a local mental health agency as a clinical psychologist, and has continued on to use her talents with It Works Global to build a large team of motivated, positive, and enthusiastic business owners. Her impact as a leader in the direct selling industry as a top income earner with It Works has given her a unique insight on what drives people to action. As a certified trainer with Jack Canfield, an elite coach with the John Maxwell Team, and the author of the Amazon best-seller, Retire Your Husband, Denise knows how to tap into a person’s ultimate potential and find their greatness. In her new workbook, she’s tapping into a combination of cutting-edge neuroscience, Biblical principles, andcaptivating real-world stories.Denise's Create Space Domains Breakout:FriendshipFamilyFinancesHealthHobbiesBusinessGiving BackScott's Create Space Domains Breakout:Friendships/RelationshipsFamily/Loved OnesFinance/MoneyHealth/FitnessSpirtuality/FaithMindset Growth/EducationOn This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="02:12"] Talk about surrounding yourself with powerful influencers.[spp-timestamp time="04:08"] So that's a pain in the butt.[spp-timestamp time="07:30"] We have several personas throughout our journey, and we realized your name doesn't change.[spp-timestamp time="09:17"] You have a new journal coming out soon.[spp-timestamp time="10:20"] I feel like so many of us know what to do. But we don't create the space to actually do it. That's a psychologist in me.[spp-timestamp time="17:33"] We gotta pause on that. Yeah, there's always a way to figure it out, that's a mindset piece, not everybody hearing this has that yet.[spp-timestamp time="18:40"] I had to put it in my calendar, I had to rearrange my priorities. I had to put it in so it had a slot and and then I would do it because I knew once I had a plan I would execute.[spp-timestamp time="22:31"] What I love about the network marketing world, too, is that it could really just be 15 minutes or an hour a day. It doesn't have to be 12 hours a day. It really is just intentional time because they say a 1% shift will take you in a completely new direction and a half an hour a day, 15 minutes a day.[spp-timestamp time="25:30"] So the particular activating system is a part of your brain, that's basically like your filter. We hear and we consume like 70,000 things throughout the day. Well, our brain can't handle all of that. So there's a filter that decides what's most important to you.[spp-timestamp time="27:21"] My mindset was different than where I am today. So things are seen and looked at differently. I do understand manifestation in a more scientific way. So I'm intrigued to see how you would respond to that.[spp-timestamp time="29:54"] I mean, even the Bible talks about the power of the tongue and taking your thoughts captive. There's a lot of things that I'm like, oh, I learned about this in church the whole time. I just never realized it was the same thing.[spp-timestamp time="32:12"] You created space in your life and you physically made a space to have a prayer closet.[spp-timestamp time="33:53"] Denise's seven domains. When I studied psychology, we called them the six or seven domains of life. So I'm intrigued to see how you're going to label these out.[spp-timestamp time="42:24"] I think a lot of times people will tell me that they're striving for balance. You're going to flow in and out.[spp-timestamp time="44:47"] The bodybuilding competition. I've always worked out and I've been interested in that. I feel like that really taught me how to eat because before, I was eating out. So that taught me how to cook nutritious food, eat whole foods and in moderation, still have my treat every once in a while. The habits are so strong now that it's not hard. I'm still drinking like a gallon of water a day.[spp-timestamp time="46:58"] You have your dream life goal, you have affirmations, visualizations connected to that goal, because it goes from our head to our heart. We're not just going to say it but we need to believe it. Then we go into our action items. The dream life action items. What can I do for this goal today, then I added dream relationship action and dream health action.[spp-timestamp time="53:10"] A 1% change will take you somewhere completely different.[spp-timestamp time="54:00"] Final Words I love where I am, AND I know where I am going. - Quote[spp-tweet tweet="Get Your Dream Life! You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @neesiewalsh "]Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f_6Y3CpgrA]&nbsp

226: The Masculine vs Feminine and The Communication Code

Balancing The Masculine vs Feminine, the Communication Code: Mary is here to discuss the power of the Communication Code. She is also the author of Conscious Communications for Harnessing The Power of Your Words. She is an expert in personal development but is not a life coach; she’s a businesswoman who discovered a road map of how to get in control of your life. She truly walks her talk by generating pragmatic solutions for people who are freaking out. Mary blends personal experience with her extensive knowledge of neuroscience and human behavior to guide businesses and individuals to defeat the freak-out and create their ideal life. On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="01:48"] We are a walking bottle of water, so to speak, right? 70% of our mass is water. So I've always thought I was a giant watermelon. I ate enough of them as a kid. You were a big watermelon geek?[spp-timestamp time="02:32"] You don't swallow the seeds, or you could choke or die. We were probably perfectly willing to swallow them and drink through drink from water hoses. I actually I used to use them as firepower. We did the whole seed spitting thing. Just load up a whole bunch of them and start spitting.[spp-timestamp time="03:35"] Business communication is totally my claim to fame. I just gave two speeches and Florida at a medical conference on the concept of the Communication Code, which is a business communications strategy that I wrote and have been training on for 15 years.[spp-timestamp time="04:21"] So that's where conscious communication came from. It's basically like 20 years ago, I started with an idea. It was an idea that had the potential to change an industry to revolutionize the collections industry, to the create connections in business that are just strong and impactful.[spp-timestamp time="02:32"] It became the framework that I use to build out the personal development concepts in conscious communications.[spp-timestamp time="05:41"] It was also part of that inner desire that I had, you know, I think that I think the universe works in all kinds of ways. I believe that the book happening the way that it did was exactly how it was supposed to happen, to get my name out there. I had this other desire to get out of my comfort zone and get into the personal development space. It wasn't the foundation of what I was really there to talk about, which was how to build trust and rapport and lasting relationships and communications. Based on my extensive research of neurology, psychology, and neuro chemistry.[spp-timestamp time="08:24"] I said sit down if you love debt, and no one sat down, not one person.[spp-timestamp time="09:40"] We're vulnerable to the information that we're given, and how it’s presented to us, and a million other things. That's where I really got my start, creating these strategies. I mean, it was my own company collecting debt. So 20 years ago, when I started my company, you know, I wanted to be different, I wanted my unique value proposition to be that I was using sales to collect this debt versus threats and intimidation. The sales really failed because of a couple of reasons.[spp-timestamp time="12:49"] I know from the last show this, this wonderful, amazing fiance of yours has been a source of a lot of motivation and growth in your life. The only reason why we're still together is because I finally started embracing vulnerability and softening the tough guy exterior and realizing that being vulnerable does not breed weakness and actually breed strength.[spp-timestamp time="15:00"] I think that we don't need to have this perception of debt in our country, that it's a bad thing. There are plenty of times when debt is an investment. What if my company would be twice or three times the size that it is now if I would have made different investments early on. This was probably almost 20 years ago, where a lot of companies were investing in dialers and a dialer system like an automatic call dialer, an automatic call dialer system was like 100 grand.[spp-timestamp time="18:18"] I remember giving you a huge green light. And I remember even after we got off the show talking for another 20 minutes or so.[spp-timestamp time="19:16"] Oh, yeah. Tell me the hack, because I'll maybe I'll steal it. otter.ai It's an artificial intelligence app that voice transcribes.[spp-timestamp time="21:55"] The do not say words need to be read. So you're saying that they can't just be written down? They need to be spoken? Right. Well spoken. So the list of words that we never say are no, not, won't, however, and unfortunately.[spp-timestamp time="23:16"] The strategy that I developed is, is most frequently and easiest to use, and in business communications, however, is typically going to indicate some kind of bad news. It triggers your fight or flight and it prepares you for an argument, you know, it puts you on the defensive.[spp-timestamp time

225: If You Can Believe It, You Can Achieve It, LIVE Podcast

If You Can Believe It, You Can Achieve It! Our Theme with Today's LIVE Guest Co-Host, Jeremy Motivates: Jeremy Vermeulen is a husband, father, youth basketball coach, motivational speaker and author. His talks focus on the topics of happiness, overcoming adversity, believing in yourself, positivity and leadership. He has always been someone who has found joy in helping people realize that life is so much more than what is right in front of them. In the winter of 2012, Jeremy jumped at the opportunity to volunteer as a youth basketball coach for a non-profit organization and live out a lifelong dream of coaching. This is where his passion to help others really started to shine. Then, in 2015 after overcoming a one and a half year battle with depression Jeremy's passion became a burning desire fueled by a single notion that "If you believe it, you can achieve it!” Since then his mission has been to take his message from the basketball court and share it with the masses.Jeremy's belief that personal growth and development a long with hard work can help you achieve the life you desire; it is what drives him to continuously learn new methods and techniques that can be used to enhance not only his life but also the lives of others as well. On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="04:14"] Independent youth facilities and organizations, basketball seasons, reinforcing all these positive things. Reinforce that if you make a mistake, it's all right, you're going to make a mistake. But get back up, get back with the team, keep doing what you're doing.[spp-timestamp time="08:26"] I don't let any kid ever feel like they are the weak link, I identify which kids are strong and what skills, etc. Some kids maybe have two to three good skills.[spp-timestamp time="11:27"] Most of my speaking when I go out to youth organizations, or even mental health facilities, like outpatient mental health facilities, I'm telling them about my story. I'm telling them how I fought back against those things.[spp-timestamp time="14:35"] Embrace your fears.[spp-timestamp time="16:50"] Initially, I'd hit a pause. Life will get in the way, you know, family things, whatever it may be.[spp-timestamp time="19:22"] Setting a definitive ultimate goal. At the end of the year, you gotta have it completed. Draw a hard line in the sand.[spp-timestamp time="24:08"] I look at life as a journey. We all have one. We're all living that journey every day. Mine was trying to find happiness through some of the adversity that I had faced.[spp-timestamp time="28:25"] There is nothing that I wouldn't do for my kids. There's nothing that I wouldn't sacrifice for them. There are sacrifices I'm making in my life, to give them a better life, not to say that I had a bad life, but something different than I had.[spp-timestamp time="33:00"] How can I take care of my kids if I'm mentally drained.[spp-timestamp time="38:18"] That was kind of the start of a weird, very weird journey and childhood.[spp-timestamp time="40:09"] So in the fairy tale world, she, my mother was the evil queen. My brother was the horrible step brother.[spp-timestamp time="41:49"] I got depressed. I hit a depression wall.[spp-timestamp time="44:50"] Doing some personal development and self-education.[spp-timestamp time="47:55"] You try and deal with the stress. But you forget about the emotional portion. That's really what broke me because you have two choices. I feel you have two choices. When it comes to stress and emotions. You can either address them and deal with them, or you can let them build up and you'll break.[spp-timestamp time="51:00"] Two years to get past the change the shame component.[spp-timestamp time="52:56"] Putting in the reps, you had to start putting in the healing reps.[spp-timestamp time="56:32"] Jim Rohn left a lot huge footprint in the world. Yeah, and then I found Eric Thomas.[spp-timestamp time="01:04:05"] Final Words “If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse.” - Quote Jim Rohn[spp-tweet tweet="Are Your Motivated?! 224: Social Media Artificial Intelligence with Lately

It is time for Davids To Become Goliaths with Artificial Intelligence for your marketing. Kate Bradley Chernis is the Founder & CEO of Lately, an AI-powered marketing dashboard: Kate Bradley Chernis is the Founder & CEO of Lately, an AI-powered marketing dashboard that’s reinventing the marketing process to give individual marketers the power to create and scale smarter, more consistent messaging. With Lately, Davids become Goliaths with Artificial Intelligence. As a former marketing agency owner, Kate, initially created the idea for Lately out of spreadsheets for then-client, Walmart. Well, not just Walmart. It was a partnership between Walmart, United Way Worldwide, National Disability Institute, and tens of thousands of local, small business and nonprofit affiliates who were all using her spreadsheet system – because they all had the same problems: a lack of coordination, widespread redundancies, no visibility and no organization. With Kate’s spreadsheet system, they achieved a 130%, three year, year-over-year ROI.In fact, Kate found similar success with all of her clients, regardless of industry or company size. So, along with one heck of a superhero team, she created Lately to organize the mess, automate repetitive processes and eliminate the "overwhelming" feeling that every marketer she'd ever met had complained about.Prior to founding Lately, Kate served 20 million listeners as Music Director and on-air host at Sirius/XM. She’s also an award-winning radio producer, engineer and voice talent with 25 years of national broadcast communications, brand-building, sales and marketing expertise.Learn About Lately With Scott On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib033eGVrpY] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time="00:30"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time="04:00"] Talking radio show hosting, software, authenticity, and how silence is really powerful.[spp-timestamp time="09:00"] How Kate's unhappiness and her Dad shook her by her shoulders to remind her that she can't work for other people. She couldn't conform to her mail bosses rules. Her husband gave her the book, The Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki. The next day she met her first angel investors and started her first company.[spp-timestamp time="14:00"] Organization is essential, quoting Tony Bourdain and Mise En Plus, everything in it's place. Consistency is key for helping humans work better together for common goals.[spp-timestamp time="23:30"] The mistake of people writing blogs and only posting about it one time. Plus we demo the Generator tool.[spp-timestamp time="24:00"] Improving sales teams and their use of social media marketing, using Lately's artificial intelligence to break up blogs into multiple posts. Plus a live demo with Kate using the dashboard in Lately.[spp-timestamp time="35:00"] Automatically guessing your color codes for your brand.[spp-timestamp time="45:30"] Pulling back the black curtain of marketing similar to how Quickbooks changed their industry too. Relating this to the 20,000 audits she did for Wal-Mart.[spp-timestamp time="55:20"] The importance of sounding good. Discussing how Kate and others use software like Dragon and JAWS, to help with their day to day disabilities. She came out of that experience as a powerful mentor and leader.[spp-timestamp time="01:02:10"] If we can just change one course of a life to improve, that's the true game of success.[spp-timestamp time="01:08:00"] Introducing Kate to Otter.ai[spp-timestamp time="01:09:30"] Final Words Be authentic.
