Gregg Martin’s journey exemplifies the indomitable spirit, offering hope and inspiration to others facing adversity in their lives.Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Bipolar - Mania vs BurnoutLithium TherapySeasonal Affective Disorder Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Visit - www.generalgreggmartin.comHis book is live on Amazon! - https://amzn.to/47iN7XTConnect with Gregg - https://www.linkedin.com/in/gregg-f-martin-222735aa Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/XTDnWlxzFro Timestamped Show Notes: 05:00 – I wasn't diagnosed until I was actually in my 50s. So the background on this is looking back now in working with experts, psychiatrists, I now know that I was living on the bipolar spectrum from teenage years. So in, I always had a, what they call a bipolar brain. But at first, it was a very low level of mania.10:00 – Mania is really the opposite of burnout. Because with mania, you're going continuously up, up, up until you blow up and come crashing down to earth. So the manic side of the cycle is up up more and more energy, less sleep, more grandiosity, etc. Then I would say, what goes up must come down. So when you reach a peak level, and your brain is over producing these key chemicals, when it's time to go the other way, the brain stops producing as much, and it gets fewer and fewer of these chemicals. Then that's when you hit the burnout, you fall into depression, and your brain essentially begins to shut down. I mean, no energy, withdrawn, confused, you can't make a decision, can't get out of bed, can't go to work. That's where I think the burnout comes in. It's just the natural byproduct of the mania.20:00 - Scott, you've actually given me a good idea, and something to think about. Maybe we have a little more specificity in who is my buddy, in what area I've given down here. You know, all my friends that, because I've written about 25 articles in close to 100 talks, everybody knows, Martin has a bipolar disorder. What I've done is I've given them these little cards that showed the symptoms of mania and depression. I've talked to them and said, okay, look, read this, do you understand it, if you see me displaying any of these symptoms, talk to me, talk to my wife, so we can address it. So that is ours, I've got my wife, who has a really good understanding. But I think having a more precise targeting system that you just alluded to, is really the way to go. So I'm gonna have to get busy and put that into effect. 31:00 – There's a thing called seasonal seasonal affective disorder. I've actually had it my whole life. When the days gets short in they fall into the dark, like a long winter, your mood sinks, and you go into kind of a natural depression. Then when the Spring time comes in, the sun's high and the days are longer and brighter, your depression goes away, and you really get a low level of mania. 41:00 – There are some other side benefits of lithium. There's been some research done where lithium can help prevent dementia, and it can help prevent other chronic diseases that otherwise would come at a higher, more rapid pace. So there's some side benefits as well that rise above the toxic concerns.50:00 – The thing about mania, it's really important to know that for much of my manic state, it actually helped me. It made me better, it boosted and enhanced my performance, made me smarter, funnier, more energetic, and it wasn't until you get to a certain threshold and you go too high, that it becomes destructive. 55:50 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: Bipolar disorder and other mental conditions, they can often be deadly and destructive. They could destroy marriages, families, careers, finan

Ep 419Breaking Through The Noise Digital Marketing

E

How Do You Break Through The Noise Today? Digging Deeper Into Podcasting and Digital Marketing with Tom Schwab: Have you ever thought your digital marketing might actually be hurting your business? That you are not “breaking through the noise”, you are just adding to it? Perhaps you are not “one funnel away”. Maybe that funnel is stopping the big fish you want. Our guest today has a refreshingly new view.Quote: "Big fish don't swim through funnels and whales don't click" Tom Schwab asks you to consider that you are just One Conversation Away. That’s his experience and that data working with over 700 leading brands as the Chief Evangelist Officer at Interview Valet. If you want a rich life and a profitable business, Tom believes you are just One Conversation Away.Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Strength in Podcasting and Digital Content.Sharing is Caring for Digital Marketing. We're blessed to be a blessing to others. Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://interviewvalet.com/https://www.linkedin.com/company/7797089/https://www.linkedin.com/in/iamtomschwab/https://twitter.com/interviewvalethttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuSNLwNEIU787_7l34HaS8AWatch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/VRzVnWcgXeY?si=_AmTpvfrKzz8LbRR Timestamped Show Notes: 10:30 – So it's interesting, I mean, there's a lot of problems in the world today. But there is no better time to be alive, right?! Think about it, we can create in the way that's easiest for us. For me, it's the same way, over podcasts, I can talk. But you know, writing a blog, that's a homework assignment, but we can talk and then we can repurpose it either with technology or the people helping us and make blogs out of it, make videos out of it, etc. You know, I always say if I talk for 45 minutes, my team can find like two minutes of genius in there.21:15 - I have gone through a few microphones and always want to sound better. If you talk you want the good quality, right? In podcasting, we must take pride in our audio quality.29:45 - There's a great marketing phrase out there, you're just one funnel away. I also think it's the biggest lie out there, because what works for small transactions does not work for high ticket relationship sales? Everybody keeps saying, oh, you're just one funnel away. Tell me Scott, the best things in your life, right, does your wife come through a funnel? Ha!34:00 – Well, I had a client that came to me and I said, well, why do you want to do podcast interview marketing? I loved his answer. He was a high level consultant. He said, because he thinks most of digital marketing today is the equivalent of advertising above urinals.40:00 – Even if it's all automated and a funnel, it doesn't matter because you're wasting their time. It's like, why don't you get five leads and five customers? That's one of the things I love about podcasting. Somebody's listening to you. You're either their guy or you're not. If you are great, then they reach out to you and ask how can we work together. They self select, but if you're not a good fit for him, then fine, but let's figure that out early on. Because at the end of the day, we don't need more leads, we need more need more sales.52:00 – For example, we just mentioned Sopranos. There was a seasonality to it. Each season can change in the theme, so you're not locked in. So this season, we can talk about health this season, or we talked about business. So as different things come up, you can focus on it.01:15:00 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: The thing that's on my heart right now is we all know something that is ordinary to us and is amazing to other people, right? Through our lives, through our experiences, through our mistakes, we've learned things. We are blessed to be a blessing. So I believe that we've got a responsibility to share that with other people. What they do with it is up to them. But you know, I used to be able to say, well, if I got up to the pearly gates, and and they say, you were taught all these things, well, how come you didn't teach somebody else that I could say, well, you don't understand. I live in southwest Michigan. There's nobody around me to teach it to, and that's not true. Now with technologies, the podcast hosts, as a podcast guest, writing blogs, writing books, whatever it is, what's ordinary is amazing to others. We're blessed to be a blessing. In your own way, I would encourage you to share what you have learned with other people, because it will help them and it will help remind you of what you've learned along the way. Please Take Positive Action Forward: Posting Positive Reviews DO help grow book(s) and podcast(s) success, YES, those 5-Star reviews really do matter!Get my book on Amazon today! Ep 418Chiro Wellness and Defining Food

E

Talking Better Health, Chemicals, Food, Inflammation, Nutrition, and Overall Wellness: Dr. Cori Stern has been helping people restore and optimize their health naturally since 2001. Her passion for alternative medicine grew out of a sick childhood characterized by a very poor diet, incessant chronic infections, and never-ending cycles of antibiotics. At the young age of 15, she decided to take her health into her own hands and began self-studying topics like the gut-brain connection, toxins, and how diet impacts a person’s overall well being. Later in life, upon re-realizing her childhood dreams of helping those who suffer heal naturally, she decided to become a chiropractor at 32 and graduated at 37. She now assists people all over the world with overcoming health challenges and advocating for their healthcare. Dr. Cori Stern oversees a busy private practice where she also educates other chiropractors on how to achieve optimal results with their clients. She is the creator of the Dr. Cori Stern - Take Control of Your Health channel known for its bite-sized information on a wide range of modern health topics.Quote: "Food is anything that grows on the ground, grows on a tree, or has a mother and is minimally processed." ~ Dr. Cori Stern Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: What Is Nutrient-Dense "Food".Seed Oils Are BAD.Chemical Riddled "Foods". Today’s Guest & Resource Links: www.drcori.comYouTube - https://youtube.com/c/DrCoriSternTakeControlOfYourHealthSpecial Audience Giveaway: https://www.drcori.com/free-gift Our Mentioned Influencers: https://www.farmmatch.com/https://www.youtube.com/@dr.coristern/videoshttps://www.westonaprice.org/#gsc.tab=0https://newlifeexpo.com/ Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/eoJji7X4vNk Timestamped Show Notes: 05:15 – As chiropractors, we don't call it dislocation, we call it subluxation.09:50 – It can hurt when you're walking and when you're laying down, so it's when any bone is in the wrong place. It can be very painful. It can limit your your activities and functioning. The level of pain can cause other problems to occur in your body. There's inflammation going on and pain syndromes can really drain your energy and make your life miserable.20:00 – Seed oils are super cheap to manufacture. So that actually is one of the reasons why they started to push it onto the population. This is my definition of food. This is how we explain what food actually is because most people don't even think about this. "Food is anything that grows on the ground, grows on a tree, or has a mother and is minimally processed."26:00 – We teach people to understand the role that nutrition plays in their body. Most people don't even know why they need to eat, they really don't, if you ask the average person, they'll say, for energy. 31:15 – Real milk is loaded with probiotics. When you pasteurize milk, you're killing all the good stuff in it, you're denaturing the protein. So I have a great video about raw milk on my YouTube channel, I interviewed the woman who started the organization called RealMilk.com, which is dedicated to helping people educating them about raw milk and raw dairy and where you can find it anywhere in the world.39:45 – Almost all of us are nutritionally deficient. So it's a little difficult to correct nutritional deficiencies with food alone. Even if you're eating the best quality food a lot of people are starting off with deficiencies and you can't eat enough of what you need to correct the deficiencies and that's where supplements do come in handy. However, I use food based supplements so they're actually still food. So even though there are pills or capsules, I tell my patients, this is food in the shape of a tablet. This will help correct the deficiencies that you have. The goal is that you won't need it forever.51:30 – We've been so inundated with chemicals that we kind have lost touch with our ability to know what our body needs. A lot of times when people have cravings, they're actually craving nutrients that they're deficient in. But they're misinterpreting the craving and an eating sugar instead or eating salt. She was actually telling me on the video that she's been training people to be able to do that, that self selection and we see changes with my patients when we get the processed food out of their body. It takes about 120 days to completely grow enough clean new cells to make a difference.01:05:20 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: This is what I tell people about making choices about their health and their future. Decide if you want to live as long as you can, and be as healthy as possible. Live a long healthy life. So you can enjoy your grandchildren, whatever it is that you want to enjoy in life, or would you prefer to just do whatever the heck you want, just eat whatever you want, trash your body and go out with a bang. That's the decision that you need to make along with the other ones. But if you want to live as long as po

Ep 417Kettlebells and Preparing for Battle with Chad Price

E

Today We Discuss Helping Yourself, Preparing for Battle, Kettlebells, and more: Chad is a seasoned serial entrepreneur with an impressive track record spanning over a decade. He founded Kettlebell Kings from scratch and orchestrated a remarkable 3 year multi-million dollar acquisition back in November of 2021. Today, it stands tall as a thriving international company, making waves in the esteemed Inc. 5000.In 2019, Chad pivoted into another passion of his, natural lifestyle products. His new company, Life Grows Green, is uprooting negative stereotypes about hemp and creating new products by only using the elements found in nature. With his background as a student athlete, Chad's passion for sports permeates every aspect of his work.Chad’s approach to business is the same as his approach to sports. Athletic competition is good, but outside the sports arena, competition takes new heights. His latest project is an upcoming book titled “Preparing for Battle”.Chad discusses a wide range of topics, from developing a winning mindset to creating a solid business plan, building a strong team, and navigating the challenges of scaling a modern-day business. “Preparing for Battle” is targeted at aspiring entrepreneurs and minority-owned business leaders who are looking for actionable advice and insights that they can apply in their own lives and businesses.  Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Book launch! So I really got into home fitness and just trying to find my own routine that I can rely on, I don't always have the convenience of going to a location. Kettlebells were just one of those things I explored during that journey. 10:45 – I was telling someone earlier, I think one of the opportunities sports gives you is you get to play all of those battles out, kind of in a simulated way. Whether that's practice or lifting or the actual games and championships, you kind of get different levels of intensity of battles, and you get to win and lose them. I think that hardens you and prepares you for leading a team through obstacles, especially the unseen ones, you start into entrepreneurship, you never know exactly what every problem is going to be. Out of the problems that come along, the will, perseverance, and grit to get through comes about. If you have the right mindset, you can make it through.15:45 - I don't like to hurt people's feelings. But there are always going to be winners and losers, there's no such thing as not being winners and losers. Yes, we can live in a better society than we did 100 years ago, and 100 years before that. We should be striving to do that. But even in those societies, there are still going to be people who do better, and people who do worse. Striving to do good is something that I think everyone should do.22:45 - Preparing for Battle, my book, is launching on Amazon. Even this experience, we talked about preparing for battle, this is my first book, this is my debut book. There were things that I didn't even know I needed to prepare for myself to do this. But you know, I had a small team that I put together, I worked with my editor quite a bit to make sure I was trying to create something that people actually could digest. So you know, it's not just me saying it the way I want to say it, but I'm trying to say everything in a way that's easily digestible, and something that builds a lot of confidence and inspiration and people who are thinking about starting their own business, I think it's more about getting in the right mindset for the challenges ahead than thinking that you can study or cram all the information or memorize all the information necessary to be an entrepreneur.31:00 – In football, you had to position yourself and prepare yourself for that type of impact, potentially, or avoid that type of impact. That was part of the strategy. I think that's the closest that we actually get to combat sports or physical sports like that. I think it's the closest we actually get to the kind of real world consequences for some of our decisions. 40:00 – I think that's the issue, like you said, not every company cares, and the companies that don't care, unfortunately, they get the profits early on. They al

Ep 416Leanness Lifestyle with David Greenwalt

E

The Freedom and Balance Of The Leanness Lifestyle: With us today is Certified Wellness Coach, fitness expert, and author David Greenwalt. A husband, father, former police officer, gym owner, competitive state-level body builder, and powerlifter, in 1997, at age 32 and a body weight of 235 pounds, David discovered an evidence-based approach for getting off his own 50 excess pounds and keeping it off for 25 years and counting. Since 1999, through his company Leanness Lifestyle University, David has been helping student members, from every walk of life, get the truth, and strategies, to lose excess fat one more time for the last time.‌Quote: “It’s not willpower, it’s why power that gets you to your goal." Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Respectful FearConfidence Matched with HumilityCocky = Very Bad Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://lluniversity.com/www.facebook.com/LLUniversitywww.youtube.com/channel/UCTZBYlai7aLc42LGj5JQjEAwww.linkedin.com/in/david-greenwalt-3bab608/www.instagram.com/llu180/ Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/o6RLyWwDE6U Timestamped Show Notes: 05:00 – I finally ended up taking a leave of absence and then ended up leaving, I was an Illinois State Trooper and I ended up leaving because of fitness businesses that I had not the one I have now a different fitness business, I started, but it really took off. But, you know, throughout that I also even when I was a police officer, I was super interested in fitness. I was bodybuilding and powerlifting even when I was a police officer, as a police officer, I got as heavy as like 235 pounds as a power lifter, and I'd get down to 175 pounds for a bodybuilding competition.13:15 – I think that if we're coming in a couple different ways. From a department perspective, you know, obviously, like you said, unscripted, my thoughts go to leadership. Leadership is incredibly important in companies, in police departments, in anything. 22:25 - Even though fitness has been in my kind of personal DNA, when I was a state trooper, I started a little supplement company. I thought, if I can just make enough money to pay for my own protein powder, I'll be happy. So you know, we call it a side hustle now, but here was the thing, there was there was no internet then. So I placed little classified ads in the back of bodybuilding magazines like Flex Magazine, Ironman, and it was a toll free number and I couldn't even answer the phone because I was a police officer working. So when I got the call they would have to leave a message.33:00 – Why are we letting ourselves, and we're capable of so much, go down that emotionally depressed path? How do we catch them sooner? How do we get them in-line sooner to help themselves? - It's a great question. I think that part of the reason, I'll give this quote, "For every complex problem, there's an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." Since it is a complex question, I'll try not to just turn it into one thing, you know, do it reductionist. I'll say this, I think that part of the answer is, if you have worked with people at all in the addiction space, it's not always rational, because in my head when I was 32, I was rational but like what is going on here?40:00 – There's so much to focus on, and it's more than just take personal responsibility and just buck up man. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and do this, except that we are in this incredibly obesogenic environment. By obesogenic, your listeners probably know what it means. But to me, it just means that all things external and internal that drive the overconsumption of ultra-processed food. The simple fact that ultra-processed food is addictive, which is also obesogenic. 51:00 – One of the elements of emotional fitness is self-awareness. When you have more self-awareness, you are more conscious. What happens is, you go catastrophic, or you don't go catastrophic. For example, if I had an argument with my spouse or my significant other, I'd say well, I guess we're gonna end up divorced, I'll be homeless, alone, living under a bridge penniless, nobody will ever love me ever again. Now I know, I'm exaggerating. But I think your listeners will all get that we all do that, to some extent, if something is really the thing that lights us up quick. What if something's become what we call a conditioned, automated response. Conditioned as in like Pavlov's dogs.01:07:00 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: Honestly, it's the reason I transitioned out of supplements. I sold a supplement company and I went all in on llcu. Because I started thinking about what were the what were the positive things that people were saying about me. And to me with regard to the supplements, hey, thanks for the great prices, the fast shipping, the protein that helped me get ready for the thing that whatever the thing was, and I went, I literally went, this was back in 9798, I went, I have got so much more in me than that. And on the back of my tombstone, I don't

Talking Success As A Developer, Conference Design & Development, and Much More: Charles Max Wood is a coach and podcast host at Top End Devs. He's building a system to help developers advance their careers by building their skills, personal brands, and networks. He's been podcasting about programming since 2008. He lives in Utah with his wife and 5 children.Chuck is also the author of “The MaxCoders Guide to Finding Your Dream Developer Job.” The podcasts he produces reach more than 80,000 developers every week. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Keep learning and keep practicing.Build your network beyond your local community.Growing into success with Conferences. Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://topenddevs.com/Book: The MaxCoders Guide To Finding Your Dream Developer Job – https://amzn.to/2Jrh5A8https://instagram.com/charlesmaxwood Our Mentioned Influencers: https://jsnation.com/https://reactsummit.com/Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/W09mt6J6WHQ?si=iRoyZSd1X59nHOpz Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction03:30 - It was it was actually super fun. So the conferences were both in this old engine building factory that had been refurbished into like a venue for events. And so they have all of the old. Like the cranes in there and stuff. I mean, obviously, they're not moving it or using it. But yeah, you go in and they had a big screen down all the way at the end of the room. And they had speakers rooms upstairs. And anyway, it was it was very, very cool, then you a lot of the people that they had at the event, were some of the people that were kind of pushing the state of the art forward in JavaScript. And so and some of them I knew already, some of them we'd had on like JavaScript Jabber, which is our big podcast on JavaScript. And so yeah, so just meeting up with him in person, you know, getting to know him shaking hands. I recorded a handful of interviews.10:00 - The difference is, and it's kind of the same thing that I did with Microsoft for five or six years, is if you go as a speaker or influencer, it's a different thing. If you're going as an attendee, sometimes even some of the conferences just going as a speaker, it's different than going as an influencer. If you're one of the people that they go out of their way to get to the conference, then a lot of times, they'll pull out all the stops.19:30 - The other version of that is none of these technologies standstill. None of them do. So even if you're working in a place that is hey, we're going to stick on the version we're at, we're gonna use the technology we know. You find all kinds of opportunities learning the next thing in the technology you're already an expert in. Maybe you want to go with indie game development, which is one area that I want to branch into. It's super popular, and there's a ton of stuff going on, and it's getting easier. So if that's an area of interest for you, by all means, if you want to move into management, then you're talking about project management, people management and helping them do essentially what I'm doing just one on one.22:20 - The video game standing in for real life for military applications, you know, where maybe you replicate a cockpit, or combat situations where you're carrying a weapon and things like that. With AR and VR opening it up, you don't even see the gun, you carry the prop, that is a game controller. But going beyond that, like office professionals these days, a lot of the stuff that they're doing, the interactive stuff that they're learning, that's all being done with game development technology. They're using Unity, which is an engine for building video games. So from there, it's not just watch a video and then click on the right answers in the quiz anymore, which is what I did in a past corporate life. But now it's literally you're working through a work function, or you're documenting and outlining some process that you have to do at work31:20 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: The way that I got into the conference thing in the first place, was I had a listener to one of the shows, who wanted to have a Ruby track at a conference that he was helping organize. So he set it all up, they got us to come out, I actually lined up for a bunch of my friends to come out as speakers. We went up to Vancouver and while I was there, there was another podcast called .NET.So .NET is Microsoft's technology stack. They were doing a series on agile development. It's a methodology, it's a set of principles for running a team. They asked me to join the panel, because I had a different take on things because I came from a different background. So I joined the panel got to know the guys that ran that show. It turned out that they were the ones that wound up one of those guys who ended up organizing the podcast setup at the Microsoft events. So sometimes it works to get to know the people directly involved. But sometimes it helps just to get to know p

Working To Eliminate 10 Billion Pounds Of Waste, Let's Go Green: Jeremy believes creating businesses as a force of good to leave the world better than we found it. While climbing society’s corporate ladder as an environmental consultant he felt the urge to live his own dreams so he started Open Mind Developments Corporation in 2007 to look at problems with an open mind for a different view, and solve them.Seeing plastic litter on a beach inspired Jeremy to create the world’s first compostable phone case and Pela in 2011, to help solve the plastic waste problem. Pela recently created Lomi, a Smart Waste Appliance to help solve the food waste and plastic problem and is now creating a waste innovation category with a goal of eliminating 10 billions pounds of waste on their mission to create a waste free future.Jeremy’s experience with self awareness, personal growth, going from zero to 1, going from employee to entrepreneur, the power of trust and a team, and the emotional side of business on his journey helps provide a guide for those who are ready to take action on their dreams, create their own personal legend and make the world a better place to be.Quote: We are the people we have been waiting for. - First Nations Elder Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Sustainable Product DesignPlant-based Alternatives to PlasticBe Courageous and Follow Your Dreams Today’s Guest & Resource Links: www.pelacase.comwww.lomi.com Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/FUyK6FaFL6o Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction09:25 - Another reason that we liked about phones at high margins, so you could pay more for material, small product, put in the mail, ship it directly to consumers and you don't have to worry about the big gatekeepers and getting into retail with low margins. So that's how early on we overcame that, that margin difference. In the grand scheme of things, no, it's not that much more.20:35 - In 2018, when the three of us partners came together, we really clarified our vision and our mission. Our mission, our crazy goal, was to create a waste free future by creating everyday products in an everyday way. So not just the product waste, but like packaging waste, and are we wasting energy or time? How can we use our product as a force of good and how can we support nonprofits? How can we build the most sustainable, environmentally friendly product or company in the world? So that was our basis point. 32:30 - We're not trying to solve the electrical grid generation issue. I believe, one day, we're gonna get there. It's going to be quicker, one day energy will be renewable. We've run all of the numbers, depending on if you're in Texas, or California, your carbon footprint is more or less. As long as you're not sending your end product to the landfill, it's a win. Because you're keeping it out of the landfill. It's either going in your backyard or in your farm or other place. So you're ahead from a carbon footprint standpoint, and we also are Climate Neutral certified. So we measure our carbon footprint every year. We try as best we can do our carbon footprint, but the stuff that we can't lower anymore, we purchased offsets, carbon credits. So when Lomi arrives at your door, all the manufacturing, all the transportation, and your phone case, you're at zero.40:30 - In regards to landfill methane collection, it's good, but it's not as efficient yet. It's a good step forward. They're trying, anytime you're trying, I give everyone credit, because it's not easy. We all need to try to make those little steps 53:35 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: The first thing that came to mind is, are you, or are we being good ancestors? Are we leaving the planet better than we found it? You measure everything by that, like it could be as far as raising children or however you show up in the community, like brightening people's days. I think it sounds simple, but that is the most powerful thing and supporting companies who are also trying to do better. Hey, we're not perfect, but like companies, even big companies, if they're trying to make a little bit of a change, then at least try. I mean, we got to start somewhere, right? So yeah, that type of thinking, You Taking Positive Action: Get my book on Amazon today! Ep 412Live Rich Spread Wealth with Melissa Hughes

E

How To Live Rich And Spread Our Wealth For Success: With us today is Melissa Hughes, founder of Live Rich, Spread Wealth—a business (and movement) that is all about helping people live richer lives as a result of becoming their best selves. Melissa is a best-selling author, speaker, and master business coach that became a self-made millionaire by the age of 31! Known as The Guru of Implementation®, Melissa’s success, and that of her clients, is a result of her practical, proven systems for business and life success.  Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Website: https://melissahughes.comWebsite: https://liverichspreadwealth.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheGuruOfImplementation?_rdc=1&_rdrLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/melissa-lisa-hughes-mha-pmp-37147742/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iammelissahughes/ Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction10:00 - I actually would take my clients on these international retreats. The reason that even started was because when I went to Bali for the first time, I don't share the same religion as the Balinese folks do, but I've never seen such grateful people. That gratitude is off the charts in Bali!21:30 - I'm not all about the hustle, per se, because I like that steady flow, the steady as you go, open, solid, and then keep your pace up. I do like to do things with grace and ease. So that creates a mindset that I have to take on. Because if things are getting too much anxiety, I think there's always limitless possibilities. So I say what does it need to look like for me to do this with grace? 33:00 - I had a very successful life in corporate America. But one day I was at this really nice hotel, looking outside the window, and I was like, this can't be what life is all about. This can't be my forever after. I thought that the more bonuses, the more salary I get, was the more freedom I get.41:50 - It is such a process. It's a mindset. It's a behavior that follows it, it's a commitment and dedication to creating those better habits. So it's all a process, it's all about that muscle, and giving yourself the grace to know that like, when I go to the gym, my first day, I'm not lifting 50 pounds. I'm not doing that, I can lift it, and I'm not going to go to the gym again.50:50 - Final Words Shown Below…Our Final Words of the Show: I think the legacy that I'd like to leave behind is that first of all, everyone that's listening, you are so freakin important and you are a valuable person. Whether you have kids or not, you are influential, people are always watching all of us. Part of living rich is embracing all of who you are, the good, the bad, the quirky, your education, your experiences, and really being able to accept yourself and be unapologetic about the gift that you are to this world. From there, you can create so many things. But I feel like sometimes you need to stop and say you know what, I am awesome. Create an awesomeness list for yourself. Create a list for yourself, that speaks on like, if you're a mom or your dad or your you graduated or, or you were a good friend of somebody, make a list of the things that you're proud of, that you've been able to do, no matter how big or small. When you're faced with something challenging, go back to that list. Because it will remind you that, look, you are really great in these things. These are the things that you're able to accomplish. If you can do that, you might not know how this ends up, but give yourself the courage and the space to be awesome again. So that's what I would say, to be able to embrace all of who you are because you matter that much. That's what it is to live a rich life and then build and create from there. You Taking Positive Action: Get my book on Amazon today! Ep 411Smart Nutrition and Health with Ari Tulla

E

Getting Smart With Our Nutrition & Health: Ari Tulla is a San Francisco-based entrepreneur and the co-founder & CEO of the smart nutrition service, Elo, whose mission is to transform food from the leading cause of disease to medicine. Ari is also an active angel investor and advisor with a portfolio of 40 startups, including Virta Health, Good Eggs, and Ōura.Previously, Ari was the CEO of Quest Analytics, the market leader in doctor data and network management. Ari led the company through a pivotal growth stage from $15M to $40M in revenue. Before joining Quest Analytics, Ari was co-founder and CEO of BetterDoctor, a doctor search engine. When not working or co-parenting his two young children with his wife, Ari spends his time on the steep cliffs, powdery slopes, and big cold waves that only Northern California can offer. Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://www.elo.health/https://www.linkedin.com/in/aritulla/ Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction11:15 - It's also powerful in a way that, I became a believer of the idea of food as medicine. I always remind myself that I wake up, the kids are here, because food was medicine. We would not have done that. We would not have, they would not be here. So, I mean, it's pretty powerful for them. They don't know the story yet.20:00 - Some of them actually are facts that you need to listen, it just took time to find the right people to start implementing the implementers, whether it be engineers, or just people who just decided to execute on the on the game plan and figure it out. All of a sudden we apply these discoveries that weren't fully applied, they were implemented before.32:45 - That's the point about this idea that we are looking at, you know, 12-13 biomarkers today on blood. Normally we think about blood biomarkers, we can think about, maybe sweat, but you can also think about digital biomarkers, like sleep and weight data, and your HRV and your activity, your heart rate, and many other things. So, one thing that we are trying to do a lot every day, is to really focus on understanding. How do we master nutrition? How do we build these things that are going to help you make that behavior change stick? 41:30 - So it's so interesting, it's why we alone, we talk about the nutrition problem, and we work today in a world of supplements and powders and stuff like that. It doesn't mean we are going to stop there, we're going to go into into food fairly quickly. But while we did start with the supplements, for example, I think it's mind boggling and many people don't know the fact that 20 million people in this country are taking supplements every day.57:30 - In the bag, what we are sending to people and is handed back to that person, is blended specifically for that person. We have worked with really, really good people on the backend to make it scalable. This is something that has never really been done before. So every product we do, we try to be able to customize the protein, literally every protein bag we put out is gonna be different for that customer.01:03:45 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: I think for me, the really the big thing is that the smart nutrition is something that you know, I believe it can become a real thing. Like a smartphone. What if we, now in the next decade, we invent this concept and take it further not us, but you know, hundreds of people, 1000 people, you know, hundreds of companies are gonna I hope adopt this idea. What if we, what if this becomes like a smartphone? What if half the people adopt smart interest and products that come from this world? What if we can actually with this sense, the way healthcare is perceived, and my big thing that I want to work on? I don't know if it's possible, but I think today that we might be able to figure it out, the code of health for humans by connecting us into more sensors and more biomarkers, and I think we can all find the universal theory of health, and it will look very different than what we have today. When we have 100 different types of doctors. Looking at one part of your body. It's like you're blindfolded and you're taxing the elephant from the nose and from the tail. That's what the doctors do. and they don't communicate to care, they don't convene together to talk about your condition, the one doctor makes the call and then the other ones are not in the loop, they barely even see the data or the audit or the record. You Taking Positive Action: Get my book on Amazon today! Your Victim Mindset, Abracadabra, the power of your Words to get enlifted: Mark England is the cofounder and head coach of Enlifted. He has been researching, presenting and coaching on the power of words and stories for the past 16 years. I wake up to the text in capital letters, and he's Mr. understatement, "We have $1,000 in the bank, we just just made payroll, we have $1,000 in the bank?!"15:25 - 99% of people use self-inflicted limiting thought processes which comes down to a lack of education, basic education, about how our words influence us, for better and for worse. When I say your language, I mean internal dialogue and external dialogue. 21:00 - Badass as hell, man. I've got a similar story, dude. I got a one way ticket when I flew over to Thailand in 2007. My goal was to go pro as a coach at this fasting and cleansing resort on that same island. I left behind a teaching career and that's when I just went for it!29:00 - It's the beginner syndrome, all the beginner syndrome is, is the awkwardness of learning a new skill. It's the awkwardness of being new to a scene.36:30 - The Victim Mentality, actually defined, acquired personality that… a person tends to repeat to himself or herself, as the victim.40:00 - Mark provides a 2nd, quicker definition, of the Victim Mentality and it's impacts.45:00 - Most of it comes from lack of preparation or lack of belief in your product. Then of course, there's the identity part that we bring into everything that we do. When someone is breathing poorly in a sales conversation, and their breath is trapped in the chest, the person that is your prospect is going to pick up on that.51:40 - Mindset defined by Enlifted01:11:00 - Beginner syndrome, it's the awkwardness, it's the skill acquisition, it's like, oh, what am I doing, and then you figure it out. Then you get better at it and then your confidence increases with your competence.01:21:10 - Finding your purpose? No pressure everybody. Let's unpack that "purpose". Even though I need to find my purpose, for me, even though I fell in love on site, and thought this was cool shit and I still think it is, the whole language and word game. I did not commit to the thing until 10 years in. So here's a good progression. explore your interests. What are you interested in? For example, what is jujitsu, I'm interested, okay, so go do it for six months, see what happens. 01:34:39 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: Your LANGUAGE is powerfully influencing you, for better and for worse. With just a minimal amount of education, you can change the way you've seen yourself. You can change the way you see your place in the world, you can change the way that you interact with other people. Most importantly, we didn't talk about this as much as I normally talk about it on podcasts, because we're known as the language people, and that's nice, it's great. It's great to be known for something, we might as well be known as the language and the breathing people. Push comes to shove, gun to head, it's about the BREATH. You can learn to use your words in more constructive, dare I say and I do dare say, elegant ways. Unlock your breathing because guess what? It's hard to enjoy being you when your breath is trapped in your chest. That's where most people's breath is trapped, it's trapped in their chest.A little fun fact. The second and third most commonly purchased over the counter medications are indigestion medication, and constipation medication. In

Ep 409Developers, Online Courses, Conferences, and Podcasting

E

Chuck Returns To Talk Success As a Developer, Conference Development, and More: Chuck aka Charles Max Wood returns. He is the host of several podcasts including JavaScript Jabber and Ruby Rogues all available at Devchat.tv. He’s the author of “The MaxCoders Guide to Finding Your Dream Developer Job.” He started podcasting in 2008. The podcasts he produces reach more than 80,000 developers every week. Chuck lives in Utah with his wife and 5 children.Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Keep learning and keep practicing.Build your network beyond your local community.Executive aka Virtual Assistants, Growing your team. Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://topenddevs.com/Book: The MaxCoders Guide To Finding Your Dream Developer Job – https://amzn.to/2Jrh5A8https://devchat.tvhttps://www.facebook.com/DevChattvhttps://twitter.com/cmaxwhttps://instagram.com/charlesmaxwood Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction04:30 - So at Devchat.tv, we had podcasts, and it was just a podcast network as the focus. So what we were doing is we were releasing shows in a number of different areas. JavaScript is something that I think a lot of people have heard about if you've been on the web. We had shows on Ruby, React is JavaScript for the web. So we have shows about all kinds of stuff like that. I'm looking, at this point, pulling together a couple of shows and putting out products now and that's where the rebrand came in. So some of the new shows are going to be on game development and then the products are going to center around Front-End Web Development, game development, machine learning, security, stuff like that. Those, those are the the areas where, like it or not, I mean, that's where things are growing. So effectively, the rebrand came into play when I went through a period in 2019, where the not so nice people on Twitter decided they wanted my business to crash and burn.10:00 - Ultimately that was the other thing, a lot of the questions I get are, how do I advance? How do I move out? How do I move ahead? My answer is mostly you got to do stuff that people aren't doing. So that's consistent learning, consistent practice, consistent growth, meeting other people. It is building your network beyond your local community, making contributions to the community, putting content out there, if you're doing those kinds of things, that's where the growth is. So that's where my focus has been now is, I'm gonna give you content to level up your technical skills. That's kind of obvious to most people in the development space, and to people who think about the development space for about half a minute. 20:00 - Initially, I hired my executive assistant or virtual assistant, she's in Philippines, by the way, which is a great source for that. I would just hand her tasks that needed to be done. She at this point succeeded, so we've hired somebody else to help her. If there's something she can't figure out how to do, or she knows that I already know how to do, then I'll record a video and I'll send it over. But probably half of the stuff she does, at this point is stuff that she has determined will get us toward our goals. So she just takes the lead on a lot of that. At this point, what we're doing now is we're getting clear on our strategic plan. We are documenting, so now she's building checklists, this is how we do this.25:50 - The other piece of this is, is that I'm intending to do that, I already named the areas I was focused in, but I'm intending to do courses on a premium basis for those. So they're not just courses so much as they're, hey, here's your weekly training! It's 10 minute videos, you get two of them a week. So if you want to stay up on the technology area, that's what we're doing. Then the same thing with a lot of the career and soft skills education too.30:45 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: What I found is that mostly, it's just that consistent effort, right? There's something to be said, for planning ahead. So where do I want to end up? What are some of the intermediate steps? Maybe look a year out or three months out, what are kind of the time horizons that I like to plan for? So what do I deliver every day? For 90 days, to be well on track for that. Then the other thing we talked a little bit about, just getting cancelled on Twitter and stuff like that. The other thing is, is that you really do have to figure out who you are and where you want to end up. Because at the end of the day, I was coasting at that point. I mean, I had a $300,000 business, but I was coasting. I was going to the conferences and sure, I'd find new sponsors. I'd show up, I was having fun, but I wasn't reaching the potential that I wanted, that I knew I could reach, but I was comfortable. So it's a blessing when you have a hardship that forces you to rethink things. Just be really clear about where you want to end up. Where are you going? What is this about? Then that consistent effort will start get

Ep 408Cancer, Metabolism, and The Gerson Therapy

E

Dr. Vickers Joins To Discuss Cancer, Metabolism, Immune System Health, and the Gerson Therapy: A 1997 graduate of New York Chiropractic College, representing the face of the Gerson Therapy Worldwide, Dr. Patrick Vickers is featured in the epic documentary series, The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest. Dr. Vickers' patient is also chronicled in the classic documentary, The Beautiful Truth.Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Dr. Albert Schweitzer, called Dr. Max Gerson, "The most eminent genius in medical history" as The Gerson Therapy has the most storied reputation, to date, for its ability to reverse advanced cancer and degenerative diseases. With seven movies chronicling Dr. Gerson's work, no other therapy has received such recognition on an international scale. Unfortunately, the Gerson Therapy remains the most censored therapy by governments, medical authorities and media outlets around the world as it poses an imminent threat to the conventional medical system.Personally trained by Dr. Gerson's family and one of the few people to have studied Dr. Gerson's handwritten files, Dr. Patrick Vickers continues to carry on Dr. Gerson's legacy through his premier, Advanced Gerson Clinic in Rosarito, Mexico as well as lecturing and interviewing on various platforms around the world on the indisputable, cellular science behind health, disease and the Gerson Therapy. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Fix Metabolism FirstHealth The GutCure Cancer Today’s Guest & Resource Links: www.gersonclinic.comhttps://www.facebook.com/patrick.vickers.37https://www.instagram.com/gersoncenter/https://www.youtube.com/c/wwwgersontreatmentcomOur Mentioned Influencers: Albert Schweitzer Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction09:30 - I can tell you during the last 25 years, we have dug our graves with our forks. We have single handedly destroyed our own bodies through diet, through what we're putting on our bodies and in our bodies. What we eat, whatever we're drinking, etc. I've been doing this 25 years and the average age coming into our clinic is 50 to 55. That is when disease typically sets in. Because the human body can only handle the onslaught of everything we do to it for decade after decade after decade, or right until we hit the fifth decade. 17:30 - We must begin to restore the human digestive tract. That's the first aspect of metabolism. So that's how you do it, you have to start by healing the gut. That's where the Gerson Therapy has reigned supreme. That's why eight movies chronicled our work. That picture you showed of Albert Schweitzer Nobel Peace Prize winner called Gerson the greatest genius in medical history, you know, so this is where it starts is by starting to restore metabolism. 23:20 - I'd like to address your question on what do we do about healthy fats. I mentioned how we heal the first aspect of human metabolism, how we restore metabolism, it starts in the gut 70% of your immune system. There's three aspects of metabolism, we have to restore to be able to cure patients. The next step is restoring the proper fats at the level of a cell membrane. So now you've healed the gut, you're properly able to break down and absorb nutrients into the bloodstream again. Now you have to get those nutrients and sugars into the cell and you need to get oxygen into the cell to be able to convert sugar into energy. 31:15 - We've essentially reestablished the charge at the level of the cell membrane with polyunsaturated fat in the form of only flax oil. Once they're cured, they can go back, Gerson would say follow an 80/20 rule, 80%. You must maintain those principles of his dietary regimen, just the principles, you don't have to do 80% of the juicing, 80% of the coffee enemas, which we haven't even talked about yet. But an 80/20 rule, 80% Stick to the principles. 20% Enjoy yourself, right? Have a steak, have some butter, have some coconut oil, you know, that wasn't a problem.41:20 - Look at the dumbing down of America, which has taken place over the last several decades. Ralph Nader, the guy who would always run as an independent for the presidency... He was once quoted as saying, living in the United States is like being in a football stadium filled with 330 million screaming obnoxious fans, you're standing on the 50 yard line, and you manage to shut them up for about 20 seconds, and you scream out, is there anybody in the stadium who can tell me the difference between ignorance and apathy, and 99.999% all yell back, we don't know an we don't care! If you can keep people entertained 24/7, with Hollywood, with sports, with music, you can do whatever you want to them. They have dumbed down the American people and world public, they've made them apathetic and ignorant. That's ultimately what it comes down to. People stop questioning, and they've trusted what they've seen on the boob tube. They just haven't really questioned the things that have been presented to them over the last 3-4-5-6 decades, people ha

I was excited to be in LA, the palm trees, that healthy living lifestyle, all that California has to offer. But when you're 21 years old and you're 3000 miles from home, you're not a fit guy. You have very little professional skills to offer the world. Honestly, that plastic capital, the world is really a better place vibe.19:35 - That's human nature to its core. I would say back in the day of 2012, when our brand came to existence, I guess my official franchise, it was the wild wild west. So there was structure there, but not nearly the amount of support and paint by numbers playbook and SOP's and whatnot that we have today. So I wouldn't say it was a different timeframe, to your point I found the playbook. Although I did make some edits and tweaks along the way.30:20 - With that support system, technically, then you're even more successful. Right? And if you're coming in as if you didn't have the system, your mindsets there, you are ready to put in the long hours, the intensity, build your team, build the business, build the brand, build your clientele, and you have a system. Oh, my God, the world could be your oyster, so to speak. It's rocket fuel!43:00 - We're extremely challenging here in 2023. I mean, we've had our best year in years for 2022, we've just awarded it will be 50 franchise locations this year, our franchise, the brand, the energy is off the charts, our franchise partner locations are the most successful they've ever been. So to your point, sometimes you got to go through the mess, and sometimes you got to go through hell to get to heaven. 50:00 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: I think for me the legacy that I want to leave and when people look at me and you know, talk about me and the impact with my connection with them, is I want them to leave with the thought of this guy may be better. I think, generally speaking, as time will continue on, I'll continue to get more granular on that vision and be able to clarify it even more. But where I'm at right now, from a fitness perspective, from a leadership perspective, a business coach, consultant perspective, really what I've tried to do over the last 10 to 15 years in my career, is just leave it better than I found it to add value to people, and help them along the way. Help them have that mindset, because I connected with this guy, because I connected with this organization, because I rubbed shoulders, I'm better off for it. Now I have a duty, obligation, and responsibility to do the same thing for others. Positive Actions:Get my book on Amazon today! I move hard and fast. These guys are like 10x. That's one of the things I look forward to and look for when I'm interacting with people. Looking at people, asking what are they doing, how are they operating, how are they getting it done? And what can I steal from them and implement into my life so I can make some of that reality for me. 15:30 - It also helps improve the positivity that comes into your own world. We all have a choice as far as what we can input into our brains, right? We choose what we can read, we choose what we watch on TV, if we watch TV at all. One of the big shifts for me, was actually making the conscious decision to turn things off like the news. Turn things off like the news and all of a sudden, my mindset is better. I'm not a grumpy fuck all the time. 24:00 - I'm reading this book right now, The Buddha And The Badass by Vishen Lakhiani, this guy owns a really successful company called Mind Body. 32:45 - 100% So I did it backwards. And I was just in the gym and didn't hear anything else. Right? Sometimes not the smartest dude in the room. So I was 283 pounds. Got to work on me was 75 hard work. By the time I wrapped it up and was done. I was like, 250 pounds in like, looking lean. 44:45 - I have two wellness doctors that I deal with, one's a chiro and one's an actual MD. The MD is like I don't really give a shit what those of my colleagues here think in the US. He actually trained a lot in Europe and everything that he's told me, Europe is 10 years advanced of where we are at with most things. So I got both of these guys doing a bunch of things and they're both high performance, former athletes who have become doctors and are hard charging very successful entrepreneurs. They are not just in medical practices, but a lot of other ventures that they've gone on with. They understand the game, they understand how entrepreneurs move and operate. 58:30 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: Every one of our social media posts that we finish on that small steps forward daily, like literally, that's how I live my life. You know, a lot of people want to go back to baseball, for instance, right? So do people want to come to the plate and they want to smash that home run? Or get the Grand Slam and knock it out of the park? In reality, it happens every so often, but not so much. I'd rather go there and hit base base hits, right, hit a ground ball, and get on base every time. Any of the big wins that I've had in my life have been a very gradual build up of small wins over a long period of time that then transition over. So yeah, this whole theory of oh wow, he's an overnight success. Yeah, 22 - 23 years of hard work to become an overnight success.   Positive Actions: Get my book on Amazon today! "So You W

We tend to look at it through running a body like a business, which is really a discussion we have quite a lot because generally the people we talked to in that higher corporate space or business owner spaces. 16:00 - I've always joked, I'm working with the people that need it, but don't want it, I'm always trying to find a way to make sure that we work with courage of men and and business owners in that space . They need to look after their health, but they're still looking at as a conflicting interest from work. 22:15 - I was basically on the brink of the professional bodybuilding world. So really, that scene, getting to 100 kilos, basically 220 pounds, that three or four % body fat, you are looking your best and feeling your worst at that moment. 27:00 - That's the big part of having that conversation around the stress and realizing that it's really an alignment of the two. I've said it a couple of times, it is trying to make sure that you know a lot of these guys, so they can resonate with being an athlete at some point in their life, they became competitive, they push themselves in some way. So they understand what that looks like from a physical threshold, they very rarely understand that they're going through the same mental athleticism in that current role, the amount of responsibility, the amount of mental hurdles that are happening at 3am, the lack of time to actually stop and recuperate. 35:30 - A mentor said to me the other day, and it stuck with me really well, if I gave the level of stress that I just tack on over a day to day basis today, to me 10 years ago, it would have crippled me. I just didn't have that mental muscle built up. So understanding how many more things you're tackling in that day, I think it's such a drastic part of it. That understanding that was pretty big. 40:00 - It's understanding what you're eating with when you're eating, which is where this picture comes in really nicely. We're looking at integration of physical, digestive, and psychological, understanding that you can't separate these three. We're in this world, we're constantly trying to say, well, here's the perfect nutrition plan, or here's the perfect training plan or whatever. 52:15 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: For me, I think one of the things I learned really early on that's made a huge difference in how I approach all of this was, when I was rowing in high school, it was something that you knew that you were doing more before 9am than everyone else was doing in their day, and you kind of had that as a bit of a chip on your shoulder, going into your day. But what I noticed is I was falling asleep in class and I was you know, grades are impacted. And I was trying to play the poor me mentality, right? Like, now I'm doing rowing. So you know, I need to have speci

The data is showing that it's actually below average. The Certified Organic is below average, but the uncertified organic, when the farmers adhere to certain practices, they actually grow above average nutritional produce. They've shown things like cover cropping and various other practices will now produce stuff that is just across the board good or bad. Hydroponic is shown to be below average. This is very interesting because when you return to the ancestral farming practices, you are also going to return to the ancestral results we used to get when obesity was uncommon, Cancer was rare, and Heart Disease was rare. So imagine a world where chronic disease almost didn't exist! 19:30 - Dr. Jack Kruse says half truths turn into full lies and so they repeat them. First they deplete it with their processing of grains and stuff, and then they put all this stuff back or else it would be even more nutritionally deficient than it already is. So they can put something on the label. But what I'm saying is the entire industry is moving beyond the labels, where they are going to have the ability to see all of these rare earth minerals and higher order compounds, and they can report that in real time. 31:20 - It is a worldwide movement. Whether it originates in the USA and spreads elsewhere, or it originates abroad and comes to the US. This is the direction that the entire food supply is going. So like I say, it's going to be unstoppable. Soon, because the technology is already been well underway, it's not new, it's more like about to go out of beta release into general release. 40:00 - That goes back to nutrition and toxins because when you don't have the correct nutrition, your DNA can't repair itself. The proteins can't produce the right energy in the body and it can't detoxify. So you increase the nutritional value of the stuff you're eating and you will automatically be healthier. You can't help it. 45:00 - "The Grand Unified Field Theory of Manifestation" ~ Randy Lee 51:15 - You need that whole cycle to really complete it and manifest in a powerful way. Like the law of attraction, they overly focus on just the positive because fear and love are polar opposites in love, it's twice the energy level, it's literally a faster wave form. So the reason why it works and is more powerful than fear is because it has twice as much opportunity to intersect with reality. But that's where a lot of people get things wrong, focusing on one thing and not another. 01:18:00 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I did want to mention people can donate to Dan Kittredge's nonprofit, it's tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. His latest work, The Mitochondriac Manifesto, aims to overturn our old beliefs about where health or sickness comes from, in light of what we now know about mitochondria, seasonal cycles, and energies in and around the body.   Notes from our guest co-host: I’ve got world-changing information to report. History is in the making. In exploring what to tell people about Gut-Brain Secrets I came to the realization that most of world’s problems and opportunities are influenced by food quality (i.e., nutrient density and toxins). The majority of the world’s problems go away when you restore food quality. Natural order is restored. Even better, I discovered that solutions to the problem of food quality are not just forthcoming… they’re imminent. The technology is irrefutable. So, by accident, I found a mind-blowing way to frame the book and discussion: It’s all about food quality. You need to be able to understand where things fit, and how powerful they are. So you can selectively choose because you can't do everything, it's just impossible. You would go broke and insane. So you have to know where things fit in the priority and what you can and cannot do, and your children, for example, might put up with or not. You need to be able to explain why they're doing it, give them some background on it. I think we all need to be our own health bosses, we need to take charge of our own health. So that requires education, a little proactivity, and definitely a little commitment. 09:50 - Years ago, I had a lot of friends with ADHD and autism, so I started researching gut brain Health and getting into Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride's work and Donna Gates. At the time, it was fairly new material, gut and brain health, how gut dysbiosis and the microbiome that's upset in some way, contributes to psychological disorders. I went down the rabbit hole and investigated all these different effects, the inputs and the outputs. 20:40 - Soybeans are horrible for your endocrine system. People are gonna hate me for saying this, but I heard one of my gurus that I listened to a lot, and recently, she said, basically, homosexuality and gender confusion has its source in upset hormone levels in the womb. Soybean is probably one of the biggest contributors to that. 31:00 - They've tested a lot different things, including hydroponic cropping. They've discovered that organic is generally no better in nutrient value than the average products on the shelf. 37:50 - These guys, the would be rulers of the world, they see this big pool, a river of something flowing by, and they they go, oh, there's money flowing by or labor or energy or even a natural resource. Pretty soon they create a pipeline to their vaults, in their mansions. Before long they go, hey, we should dam up this river and control all the flow through it, and put taxes and regulations and certifications. All so they control every facet of society. That's the systemic problem here in a nutshell, every single thing. 47:00 - We all w

Noomi’s work centers on embracing being fully human in every part of life, including work. She often helps unlock deep layers of imposter syndrome and other success blocks, by diving into patterns that were created all the way back in the client’s childhood. Quote: You Are The Asset ~ Noomi Natan Noomi describes herself as a recovered perfectionist and a practical idealist who dreams of a world which is safe for everyone. She has worked as a coach for more than 15 years after doing a degree in journalism, working in marketing and events and completing an internship in the US Congress. She is also qualified in Family Constellations and Organizational Constellations. Noomi is also the host of the inspirational podcast Leadership Behind the Scenes and the founder of the Female Inner Power Club.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Leadership Catalyst Vulnerability & Transparency Family Constellator   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: www.noominatan.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/noomimelchiornatan/ Instagram: @noominatan https://www.instagram.com/noominatan/ https://www.facebook.com/noominatan   Our Mentioned Influencers: The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/j6Axy5LwXNQ   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 12:00 - It's about being wholehearted, for me, it's like my whole heart is in the coaching, I do not take it for granted. 15 years later, when people show up and whether they paid or their organization paid, they are giving me a part of themselves, often a part of themselves that they didn't plan to give. 15:45 - I think one of the problems is we talk about being professional. There's one part of it, and we could define us being dedicated to your work, being deliberate, giving it your best and showing up with dignity to whoever you're with. I'll say the right thing. I'll do the right thing in the right way. 21:15 - This is also where I think lots of people go through an existential crisis, like, who am I? I don't even know who I am. I don't even know what matters to me. I don't know. I mean, I know you've gone through different transitions. I don't know if you've ever been into a place where you've gone like, I don't even know who am I? 31:55 - I've seen a lot of people now draw elephants. But it's that piece of how can we not make it a big scary thing? What's the weigh in and then I often go first. I don't go with a rehearsed story, I drop into something that is real and raw for me. This is so I role model it and so people feel it because you can feel in a room when someone's being real and vulnerable and then usually someone else's brave. As soon as one person in the team has gotten more vulnerable, then maybe not everyone, but pretty much everyone will go there. 45:00 - If it's about you, it's a problem. The thing is, other people's reactions to us is never really about us. It's about what they think we are and their thoughts about us. I keep coming back to the book the Four Agreements at this point. 52:56 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I love just trust what comes, which for me, maybe that is the message. Trust what comes. I think get out of the way and just ask yourself, how could you show up and have a lot of fun adding a lot of impact. If it feels really hard and clunky and difficult and off, you're probably not at your best. You're probably not having the best impact and the biggest impact you could in the world. I do think you're here to do the very most with whatever you were given in the bag of DNA and life experiences, etc. So it's all about how can I have more fun adding more impact today? I think if people ask themselves a question like that every day, really great things will happen.   Positive Actions: Get my book on Amazon today! Ep 401Why Carnivore vs Plant Toxins with Anthony Chaffee Part 2

E

Are Plant Toxins Killing You and Can The Carnivore Life Heal You? Dr. Chaffee is an American medical doctor and Neurosurgical resident who, over a span of 20+ years, has researched the optimal nutrition for human performance and health. It is his assertion that most of the so-called chronic diseases we treat as doctors are caused by the food we eat, or don't eat, and can be reversed with dietary changes to a species specific diet. Quote: "It doesn't matter how brilliant your theory is, and it doesn't matter how smart you are. If it doesn't agree with experiment, it's wrong." ~ Physicist Richard Feynman Who is Dr. Chaffee's?! Check out his first appearance only two episodes ago on podcast 398 titled "The Carnivore Life and Who Is Anthony Chaffee MD Part 1". https://livethefuel.com/episodes/carnivore-life-anthony-chaffee/   Today’s Top 4 Takeaways: No need for supplementation Plant and Fruit Toxins Cancers, no genetic changes Become Metabolically Healthy!   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzoRyR_nlesKZuOlEjWRXQQ/videos Instagram: @AnthonyChaffeeMD Twitter: @Anthony_Chaffee Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AnthonyChaffeeMD www.TheCarnivoreLife.com   Our Mentioned Influencers: Revero Health from Shawn Baker MD Brain Energy - https://amzn.to/3BKFuMI by Christopher Palmer MD Metabolic Mike - https://www.instagram.com/metabolic_mike/ Chris Hemsworth and Limitless Docuseries https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11714334/   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ePl9BV-p3rY   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 10:30 - It was the most intense period of my life. Burma, there was some very crazy events, tension, and stress levels were always maxed out. It was in the middle of ISIS territory, I don't think it was actually carved out as ISIS controls this, but they were very, very active in Bangladesh. Speaking to the locals there, they were telling me that they're not only active, but they were supportive. They were supported by the local Imams and things like that. 22:00 - All of this data shows that if you're metabolically healthy, you will do much, much better against things like COVID. I think that's something that people can do, that they can affect in their own life. That is something that they can change, that they can affect, and they can take control their own health and their own destiny. A lot of diseases, even chronic disease, especially chronic diseases, are being shown to be metabolic issues. Metabolic issues are specifically brought about by not eating the right thing. 32:00 - On the topic of Fasting, from what I can see, all of the same benefits can be achieved just from being in that healthy metabolic state. You get the same Autophagy process where you clear your body of these senescence cells. You clear out those those pre cancer cells and all of those little half dead cells are working too well. So all of those benefits from fasting you get from just eating a proper diet, like the Carnivore Lifestyle because you'll be in that metabolic state. There are a lot of studies with so called fasting mimicking diet, which is a ketogenic diet, and they find that it was really hard for people to fast. So I really don't like it, you can do this by just getting in that healthy metabolic state. 40:30 - There are many people who made that same comment back in the early 80's. They looked at other animals, because the argument was from all the experts at the time, they assumed that you had to eat carbs in order to burn carbs for getting biochemistry. That as soon as you stop eating carbs, you make carbs, so that's what all of these people who supposedly took biochemistry assumed. Then we get into the topic of Gluconeogenesis. 51:15 - I don't think we need supplements. I don't think you need to take any of those things. If you think about what we eat for and what's the purpose of eating. We're trying to build and maintain animal structure, animal tissue, meat, right? So what by definition is going to have everything that we need, in the proportion that we need it, to build and maintain... MEAT aka a Carnivore Lifestyle. 01:02:40 - Plants don't want to be eaten. You know, maybe their fruit, maybe they'd like that to get eaten. But even then, they want specific animals to eat them. They don't want necessarily us to eat them. There are most fruits and berries that will kill you. If you go out into the wild, people that know about foraging, hunting, and survival out in the wild will tell you NOT to eat random red berries. 01:44:00 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I think the main thing is we were having a lot of things come out, like Dr. Palmer's book with the brain energy thing you're looking at metabolic health. The last few years looking at the most people that were most affected were people that were metabolically unhealthy as well, finding out about, you know, cancer being linked to metabolism and the mitochondria. The first chapter is called eat your broccoli. It talks about how you cannot pour from an empty cup, if you're not healthy, how are you going to help other people? You have to work out, you have to handle your mental hygiene, you have to do these things. Otherwise, you're gonna be a burnout, and then you're not good to anybody. 13:20 - So I got in trouble on the Dr. Drew show with that exact question. I am pro cannabis. He was anti cannabis. So we had a huge debate going on. Yeah, it's interesting. To debate with him, was a whole other level. 20:35 - You have to keep in mind, it is the same thing with diabetes, it is the people that create the problem, then offer the solution to the problem. So they make money on the front end and money on the back end. So you've got the people pumping out Opioid's, they get addicted to this, you get the person addicted to it, boom, here's your solution afterwards too. You know, here's a doughnut, let's get you addicted to sugar, and then let's of course give you that product to fix the ship. 31:00 - So all of a sudden it is also food and alcohol. So what happens is people get addicted. They start off with the easily available cupcake and then it's oh no, this weekend I got so and so's birthday too. So then I'll just have two cupcakes. Next thing you know, you're eating cupcakes all of the time, and you don't know how you got there. It's the same thing with drugs and alcohol. It starts off in moderation. I'll have a little and next thing you know, it's uh oh! During the VID we produced so many alcoholics over COOFID because people were locked in their house. We went up to one in five people became addicted here in the USA. 41:40 - The success stories are why I do this. I still have clients that call me. I've been doing this work 27 years, and I still have clients that call me and say, hey, I'm sober 15 years, I got 20 years, you know, I'm married and I have kids, I have this amazing job, I created this company. So that's very cool. It's very rewarding to hear you said something or did something and sometimes it's not even a client. It's neat to be able to do this kind of work, and not know who you're affecting, or how many people you're affecting, and how well they're actually doing with it. 45:45 - Final Words S

Ep 398The Carnivore Life and Who Is Anthony Chaffee MD Part 1

E

Understanding The Healthy Carnivore Life: Dr. If it doesn't agree with experiment, it's wrong." ~Physicist Richard Feynman   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Burma Genocide Before The Carnivore Life Correlation vs Causation on Health Data Mitochondria Health Against Cancer Plants Attack Your Mitochondria   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://linktr.ee/DrChaffeeMD https://30daychallenge.howtocarnivore.com/home YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzoRyR_nlesKZuOlEjWRXQQ/videos Instagram: @AnthonyChaffeeMD Twitter: @Anthony_Chaffee Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AnthonyChaffeeMD www.TheCarnivoreLife.com Burma Genocide - www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/rohingya-burma-myanmar-children-beheaded-burned-alive-refugees-bangladesh-a7926521.html   Our Mentioned Influencers: Dr. Shawn Baker MD Vinnie Tortorich KETOCON www.ketocon.org   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/xo7BzQLvkYc   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 02:15 - I was already committed to doing humanitarian work in Bangladesh and volunteering in the refugee camps. There was the largest humanitarian crisis in the world at the time and it was in Bangladesh. I don't know that everyone's heard of it. But there was a mass genocide in Burma in September 2017. About 200,000 people were killed in a Holocaust level of evil ways. About a million people fled into Bangladesh, Southern Bangladesh from Burma to escape this and so there wasn't really enough people helping out. So I felt that I needed to go over and help. So I gave up on on playing professional Rugby that season to go go help out. 16:20 - I sort of had my eyes open before I went there. I expected it to be really bad and I figured there was like a 50/50 chance I wasn't coming back. But I felt that it was worth it to do that. You know, I never fooled myself about about the realities of the Third World. But seeing it in person and seeing people just live like that, it obviously makes it very, very real. Understanding things and then seeing them for yourself are two very, very different things. It definitely gives you a broader understanding of humanity in the world in general. So I'm very grateful for that. 23:30 - I would hope that they would find it distasteful to do that to anyone. So the women basically stayed pregnant as often as possible because they would be less likely to be raped to be pregnant. So there was one lady that I met and saw the scars to prove it, she was being detained by the Burmese military and she was being gang raped for the whole day. She was just begging them, she had a very young baby, and she was begging them, please let me go. Please let me go, I need to feed my baby. I have to feed my baby, she's hungry. I have to feed her please let me go, please let me go feed my baby. And so eventually they did, but they cut her nipples off. 32:00 - Macroaggressions vs Microaggressions. That always struck me as a sign of a blessing of our civilization. If you have time to worry about microaggressions you live a blessed life and things are really good for you vs a culture living with macroaggressions. 45:40 - I think it comes from word of mouth, people actually living the life and having these benefits and having these visible, tangible results. Just being an example, when I first got here, it was very big vegan movement. Everyone was really convinced of that, that just vegan was the way to go. So I come in here and I'm the only human being in Perth and probably most of Australia, who advocated for this sort of thing. 54:15 - Yeah I do not consume lactose as well. That will raise your insulin and when you raise your insulin, your hyperinsulinemia causes a lot of biochemical changes in your body. They are canges that you don't necessarily want and it derails your metabolism. It slows your metabolism. It puts you into a fat storage metabolism as opposed to a fat burning metabolism. There are actual studies with actual science that show that people just on a ketogenic diet and are in actual ketosis, their basal metabolic rate is on average 300 kilocalories higher than someone else who's eating carbohydrates. 01:07:00 - I was a professional athlete, I played professional rugby for 10 years before medical school. Five of those years, I was carnivore, and I was not eating anything else. Those were the best, most explosive and dominant dynamic, athletic years of my entire life. I could not get tired, I couldn't run out of energy, I couldn't get sore, I just could go, go, go. The harder I pushed

Ep 397I Am The One and Cancer Advocacy

E

Learn To Advocate For Yourself with "I Am The One" Author, Viki Zarkin: Viki Zarkin is the only person alive with this aggressive form of Stage 4 metastatic cancer for over 11 years. She was diagnosed in her 40’s when her doctor first told her to go home and get her affairs in order. At the time, she had two small children at home and was running her husband's dental practice. Viki spent the next several years fighting for her life, advocating for herself and navigating through the healthcare world, and following her gut. Now, "I really am the luckiest girl around. But I just happen to have Cancer." ~ Viki Zarkin Viki is a beacon of hope as a national motivational speaker, coach, and author of I Am the One. She inspires women to change the way we have been programmed to think and emphasizes the importance of starting with young women on how to believe in themselves, challenge the status quo, find their voices, and listen to their hearts. Viki’s can-do attitude inspires people to think differently in their everyday lives; by applying her unique thought process, deals can be made in a boardroom just as easily as they can help people through their cancer battle.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Understanding Metastatic Cancer Realizing Importance of Cancer Advocacy Put Yourself First   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Website: www.iamtheone.com Twitter - https://twitter.com/iamtheonev LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/viki-zarkin-b57a2176/# Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/iamtheone_viki/?hl=en Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/iamtheoneviki   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/snxKS6vdkRc   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 09:40 - I'm wholeheartedly aligned with you. I understand where you're going with that. Do you know that women's healthcare today has been cut back so severely that we don't get any of the same procedures afforded us even as much as five years ago?! 20:00 - So find the professionals get the second, third or fourth opinion till you find the professional to your point, who is the different color crayon in the box that DOES care to do their own analysis, their own research. They do exist and I've now met lots of them, and I do mean a lot. I left in the middle of the night, after my mammogram, in a hospital gown flying open, as my mother and my husband wheeled me down the hall running for our lives! 30:20 - It comes back to your advocacy for yourself, do it for yourself, and so on. If it's you just make it organic, I'm not talking about food, I'm just talking about your life choices can become organic, and you make it matter. 37:10 - You don't necessarily have to listen to me. But when you do have a near death experience, it does give you insight, it truly does something that no others have. When you learn, when you drop into the abyss, and you personally are responsible for lifting yourself out. How can you not share that knowledge with others? How can you not be responsible for the other lives and the knowledge that you now have been given by God? I don't say it in a religious tone, I say it in a spiritual tone. Because it's a gift and it's what you do with that gift. 42:55 - So I think that we want to clarify that a little space. Because not everybody has to be an adrenaline junkie to submit to faith or to risk or to not be scared. Just because you choose not to break every bone in your body doesn't mean you were scared to do that. But what it does mean to you, then choose your poison. Don't go through life without risk, find whatever that risk might be to you. Like I said, for somebody, it could be overcoming an agoraphobic condition, it could be literally stepping that foot out the door. 56:30 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I have this really crazy motto that I made up. I like models. When I first got sick, I said it came through, it was born out of truth. It was born out of my own honesty. What I said was, you know, I really am the luckiest girl around. But I just happen to have Cancer. That's it. Why? Why does one have to take from the other? All right. I'm just me and all of the parts of me. I'm very lucky to be who I am.   Positive Actions: My New Book is LIVE! Dani resides in Pennsylvania with her husband, Matt, and children, Noah, Marley, and Hadley. Join her community and her influence at www.bedanifit.com. Quote: Life's 6 Rules of Success: 1. Trust yourself. 2. Break some rules. 3. Don't be afraid to fail. 4. Ignore the naysayers. 5. Work like hell. 6. Give something back. And... "I wasn't put on this earth to be like everyone else." ~ Arnold Schwarzenegger   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Bodybuilding Health Sarcopenia and Osteoporosis Nutrition Truths and Lies   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Get Nutrition Destination, visit https://amzn.to/3G22RUT www.bedanifit.com @DaniFit (Facebook) @imdanifit (Instagram)   Our Mentioned Influencers: Growth Now with Justin Schenck, visit https://growthnowmovement.com/   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/5z6YffJohL4   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 10:30 - I've actually played around with different processes, I've done dehydrate, like, basically hydrated than dehydrated down to the time of my show. It's been so tight that I've tried to lick the water off my toothbrush on that Friday before the show. I know that there are ways of not cutting your water, like this last show, that I did it for. 20:00 - If you actually know what your body fat percent is, that will also play into getting that number into you. A lot of the times I'll find that people are not as active, they're not as conditioned. That's a big key in deciding where your calories are, the more conditioned you are changes that process. 27:30 - So let's talk about the muscle, if you don't strength train your muscles, it's just like going you're not using it. It's going to slowly decrease in strength in size. So it's a muscle that changes size. So the bigger it is, the stronger can be the more blood flow to the to the muscle you get and that it's hungry. So if you look at my body fat and my muscle, it is a certain percent. You can take somebody else with the same weight, but just a different composition, and maybe they have less muscle mass. I will require more calories, because my I have more muscle to feed. So if you just kind of let that go, you'll see, like my own BMR is so low. I don't want to just eat 1200 calories. If you get to increase your muscle size, you'll also see a correlation with your BMR to go like going up very nice. 38:00 - I'm putting out another book. Actually, my nine year old daughter's gonna help me write it because I want to help parents with their kids nutrition. She's nine and she's very passionate about writing, and eating healthy. All of my kids are but they're still kids. But you know, we're still teaching them to look at the labels that you need to know. 55:00 - Digging in to shopping tips and nutrition as we close out the show. 01:03:55 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I talk about act as if... , and you need to finish that act as if, you know, I was put into a couple of different situations where I didn't think I didn't want to land there. But I was there and now I had two decisions I either needed to just kind of feel bad for myself and just kind of like, alright, just throw in the towel, or I need to act as if I know what I'm doing and just get out. That was my point of acting as if we're going to be in situations where you feel unfit. You're going to be in a situation where you don't feel like you're fit enough to start eating healthy. Or you're not in the right spot to start taking care of yourself or even to just do some activity. You'll always feel that way. There's not going to be a perfect time but you need to act as if that you give a damn, you're going to need to act as if you can do it. Even though you might not be able to, and that's my biggest message. It is if you start acting, you'll start believing, you'll start doing, and then you'll be able to celebrate all your accomplishments.   Positive Actions: My New Book is LIVE! Ep 395Local Businesses Working Together With Localverse

E

Introducing Localverse, Everyone Powerful: You're invited to witness it all (and participate) as Localverse grows. It's an open collaboration with an open business model: 'Our vision is... everyoneᐝpowerful' We create ideas and inventions, you make the profits. And kick back some so Localverse keeps going. If you've realized how: Everyday people and local businesses can solve the world's big problems, with the proper tools...How with automation moving homeward, we can help to spark a local renaissance... Then you're in good company. Be sure to contact Marino and let's start to grow the tribe for Localverse.   Quote: “Don't undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible” -- Edwin H. Land   Marino is helping create Localverse, a company that aims for local business ownership to swarm the planet. Look around. Imagine that everything in sight is locally made, including all parts of the device you're listening to us on. And, better made. That's what Localverse aims for. Yet this is an open collaboration. It's about 'we'. Want in? Then contact Marino and let's start to grow the tribe for Localverse.   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Facebook.com/Localverse http://localverse.fan/   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/YXs1nmgeSTk   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 14:00 - If I compare it to a local business, let's say they have they found a problem, it's making people sick, or it's harming people in some way. Maybe it's not even making them sick, but they know it could harm people. Let's say it will cost them five cents to deal with it and then they're like, okay, yeah, we got to get rid of this. We'll eat the five cents. So when you take a multinational company doing the same decision, now we're talking about those five cents adding up to millions, maybe even hundreds of millions dollars. Now that decision is much bigger and we've seen companies do this, well, you know, screw it, people may get sick, they could sue us, and we'll still make more profit than there anyway. 21:00 - People who see the vision and the mission and believe, that's why they join. When they start profiting, then other people are going to start joining it, because they're going to be looking at the way they've pulled out their hair, trying to figure stuff out and do business. It's a lot more smoother and that's not available when you're closed and isolated, working on your business alone. 31:45 - I believe there's a natural incentive, people like doing that, people love sharing information. But if there's an added incentive, if you become part of the profit, you'll like it, that'd be part of the platform. Everything is traced, all ideas, and all suggestions are traced to the people. 40:25 - In regards to mutual alignment, no political and religious discussions, because they do derail things. But you did bring up something important, I want to say that I'm thinking ahead on, we want Localverse to have a first major milestone goal, which is to help boost the world to a billion founders and owners and not just businesses. Whether it's a non-profit or whatever, the whole thing is local which is the lifeblood of the economy. I want people to understand why, I'm very obsessive compulsive about finding the mechanism of things, why do things work? It's important to envision how things are going to end up, I like to find real mechanisms that you could follow all the way to the end. 54:35 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: A lot of people are afraid of the error. I was too many years ago and it's like you know what, Scott? Sooner or later if you want to change your life, you got to start putting the reps in and you're gonna have a bad rep once in a while. It is what it is, so you go back to the drawing board, refocus work on your form, your technique, and then go at it again. Heck, go a different route, change directions, it's about your habits of thinking.   Positive Actions: My New Book is LIVE! Go get "So You Want To Be A Hotshot"! Ep 394Healing with Scalar Light Energy with Tom Paladino

E

Health and Healing Topics Around Scalar Light:   Tom Paladino is a researcher and humanitarian seeking to make a difference in the world by providing people with the education and tools to restore optimal health, and by helping enhance their quality of life. Tom began research with Scalar Energy after developing a deep admiration for the father of Scalar Energy research, Nikola Tesla. He was also able to study the work of an inventor, Hieronymus, who continued research on Scalar Energy. Hieronymus’ major contributions included unbinding the RNA/ DNA bonds of microbes plaguing the agricultural industry. QUOTE: "The Truth will set you free" The existence of such energy not found within the electromagnetic spectrum fascinated Tom. Inspired by these findings, he pursued a course of study seeking to better understand and subsequently harness Scalar Energy, through the development of an instrument called “Scalar Light” which utilizes free energy from the stars.   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: www.scalarlight.com Twitter - https://twitter.com/light_scalar Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/experiencescalar/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/scalarlight/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/TomPaladinoScalar   Our Mentioned Influencers: Galan Hieronymus: http://scalarproject.com/galen-hieronymus/ https://www.scalarlight.com/blog//galen-t-hieronymus-discovered-how-to-monitor-health-using-a-persons-photograph Nikola Tesla: https://nikolateslamuseum.org/en/ https://www.teslasociety.com/   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/71y3SsGlnww   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 10:28 - Tesla began his career with AC electricity when he garnered the attention of Westinghouse, Morgan, and the power, the power brokers, and they wanted to pick his brain so that they could use this technology to make money. They wanted industry. Later in his career, Tesla started developing Skinner energy towers, one in Long Island, New York, that tapped the stars, the universe for free energy. When the power brokers when the robber barons caught wind of debt, Tesla was capturing star energy, free energy. But then a smear campaign began... 20:15 - If we're if the universe was devoid of scalar energy, the universe would cease to exist. 30:15 - So if I use this energy field, that quantum field by way of a photograph the herpes virus and identify that in my quantum field, this photograph with the herpes virus would destroy herpes in me, okay? It's all done by way of energy recognition. So I have photographs, 1000s of photographs of microbes, and I simply instruct those photographs, that of microbes to identify microbes and people and destroy them. 41:20 - Can scalar light be used in a negative way? Not that I've experienced with my instruments now. Now Tesla theorized that this energy was so powerful that someday somebody could use it for weaponry as a pulsation of energy. 44:35 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: We have agents around the world on on three continents helping us promote this work and at least presenting it to a wide audience. It takes time. Yes, people have never heard of this as if it has never been done before. Perhaps with the exception of Hieronymus and Tesla but much of their work is obscured or has been undermined. So we have to start over as well. Remember, Tesla did not have the internet. He was systematically undermined, because obviously the Rockefellers controlled the media back then, as they do today. But at least we have this undercurrent of movement, like having a podcast of people, like you, who are not beholden to the Rockefellers.   Positive Actions: My New Book is LIVE! Brian’s purpose in life is to awaken those giants within and turn them into legends by helping them grab what they believe is just out of their grasp. Brian is a heart surgeon without a blade. He does not start outside with what you need to DO, he starts inside with who you ARE. In a world that is disconnected, Brian is revolutionizing how individuals, leaders, and entrepreneurs deeply connect with their authentic selves to achieve the best version of themselves. As a human behavior and performance coach, speaker, and business strategist, Brian disrupts the normative approach on how to create sustainable growth and lasting change personally and professionally. His philosophies on “how to embrace pain to avoid suffering,” “people before profits,” and “who before what” has helped individuals and companies discover and activate their limitless potential. Brian and his team lead with intentionality as they are driven by their vision to impact a billion lives by 2045.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Working Through Shame Connecting Deeper Vulnerability vs Armor No Limits   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://brianbogert.com FREE Help, No Limits YOU Prelude: http://nolimitsprelude.com/   Our Mentioned Influencers: Justin Schenck of the Growth Now Movement!   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/iktfme5Lv2A   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 11:40 - Seven years ago, almost to the date, is when I founded the company. Brian Bogert companies, if you will, which was just coaching and speaking at the time, there were no courses, there weren't group coaching, there wasn't any of these other ancillary businesses that are supporting our mission. But five years, I ran it side by side with another business. So I was in the risk management world and benefits consulting business for about 15 years, the last 10, of which my partners and I scaled the business from nothing to over 15 million in revenue in that period. It was great, and it was fun, but so much of that didn't align with who I was and who I was becoming. 20:00 - You are gonna burn out , I'm going to burn out my body, the body will fail. So we're sitting there holding it and we may start out thinking we're really strong and it's good, right? Yeah, but then the burning starts to happen, then the weight happens. Those weights get heavier and heavier and heavier, guess what, our armor is the same way. We put it there thinking it's protecting us. But it actually gets heavier, the longer we carry it and it starts to incrementally crush us over time. So that's the second thing that armor does to us, physically, emotionally, and mentally. 30:00 - I find myself being able to connect even deeper, the more I continue to evolve myself, there is no final destination only constant evolution itself. So what I can absolutely definitively say is that there was a massive shift, probably two years into my coaching business, because that's around the time that I really started to understand emotion a lot deeper. 39:00 -So the aha moment was probably six to seven years ago. My daughter was young. We were playing, we were laughing sounds and we lay down on the couch, and she wraps her arm around my neck, and she kisses me on the cheek. She says, I love you dada. I then broke down in tears of joy and I am not somebody that cries, but it's because I conditioned it out of myself. I want to be really clear, men who have the ability to cry and can express emotion, I think, is one of the most powerful moving things to be apart of. It's nothing that I believe carries any shame. It's just not how I have learned to feel emotion. But what's cool is I'm starting to learn how to feel that in that way, but when I felt joy that way, I realized I had never experienced joy to that capacity before. 58:00 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: We're on a mission to impact a billion lives as quickly as possible. And for us, that means by reducing the level of suffering that exists on this planet, and that happened through a whole bunch of different vehicles. If anything resonated with you, and you decide to follow on social or jumped in, if you follow on social, Brian Bogert on any channel, truly, legitimately, I don't care about the vanity metrics. But if something moves you, I just asked you to move through the world. If you're sitting next to somebody, you're like, Oh, this is cool. But if that's not something that you want to do, don't feel pressure, but show it to somebody next to you. What I've known through all this time is that move people move people. And so I'm asking as many people to move others and move themselves so that we can have a collective impact as quickly as possible. The other thing that they could do, if they're interested in there, that five to 10%, we do have a free course. And it's something that we put a lot of t

So I've got to do this, go do that, I haven't got time for this. I'm gonna, you know, start next month and I think that's it is very simple and the thing that I think people want to do before anything, and I've been doing it since I was a junior bodybuilder, sort of 16-17 years old and I've been I'm 52 now. So I've been doing it for all my life pretty consistently, I'm a little bit of an anomaly. But I think for the average person that hasn't done that consistently for years and years and years, then really, the most important thing that you need to focus on is creating a habit, where you're gonna fit some kind of activity, or movement into your life. I've not actually met any people that have not been able to create a habit of cleaning their teeth, at least in the morning, and when they get up and before they go to bed in an evening. 20:30 - For whatever reason, everybody is obsessed, relationships break down for it, everything is really driven about people's desire for money, what they think money is going to give them. 31:00 - We've got a pretty decent process and we're predominantly business to business. So we work with a lot of gyms trainers, we we have a small part which is direct to consumer, but predominantly, it's going into clubs. Most of that gives us the ability to plan out a little bit further than people who kind of want to just purchase things immediately. 35:00 - I never thought I'd ever get into unofficially designing my own space. I mean, to be fair, actually, I love the fact you guys actually do design services, which is super cool. 40:00 - You got yoga combined with spinning, boxing, etc. So you got to think of how you're going to really differentiate yourself. There's a lot of ways that you can do that, obviously. But a lot of people react to the simple things, I used to be a boxer, and I like boxing, and I know some friends do too, etc. So I'm going to open a boxing gym but then what. 48:22 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I'll just remind them of what I said at the beginning. I suppose you think that there'll be a time where you'll figure out how to make health and fitness important in your life. I've interviewed probably two or three-hundred very successful people in all areas, not just fitness, but in many different areas in business and I think consistently the one thing that that really separates those from anyone else is just finding where that fits into your life. But putting it before everything else in your hierarchy of things to do, stick fitness at the top. I think if you can make that a habit then you'll find that dealing with all the other stuff that life throws at you on a regular basis including preventing yourself from getting totally destroyed from whatever pandemic happens and everything else that is out there, you won't go far wrong.   Positive Actions: My New Book is LIVE! He’s the founder of Radical Performance Acceleration and for well over a decade now he’s been behind-the-scenes doing life-altering work with powerful CEOs, Entrepreneurs, Leaders, and Public Figures accelerating their performance both personally and professionally. His work is the proverbial “Navy SEAL Training” equivalent to high performance and leadership development – pushing even the elite beyond their limits so they not only hit their peak but sustain it. Wylie’s formal title is Performance Accelerator. He has been named a “secret weapon” by some of the most influential leaders across industries from Wall St., Hollywood, Professional Sports, Fortune 500 companies, Personal Development, and everything in between. His work is about giving an elite edge to high achieving individuals while ending their cycle of stress, sacrifice, and suffering that’s unfortunately associated when reaching their levels of accomplishment and success. When Wylie’s not traveling the country to meet his clients, this family man enjoys skydiving, mountain top sunsets, and occasionally sipping on an 18-year-old single malt scotch pondering the philosophies of life, the cosmos, and beyond. Quote: “An optimized leader advances the world, an unresolved one distorts it.” SPECIAL Timing Note: We originally recorded this episode in October 2021. Thank you in advance as we catch up on episode releases since our host, Scott Mulvaney, started returning from his time off to finish writing and self-publishing his inspirational first book, "So You Want To Be A Hotshot" on Amazon.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: We must be putting ourselves in the most uncomfortable positions. I would never put a lower octane FUEL into a high-end sports car. I would say someone with a death wish, if we had a death wish we wouldn't wear gear. So at the end of the day, I tell people that it's more dangerous to drive a car down the road than it is to jump out of an airplane. I have literally two parachutes in my system for a reason, because I enjoy my life. I'm going to the fullest possible edges of my limitations myself and want to see how far I can really stretch beyond that. So that's why I do it. 20:00 - As I got older, I totally knew this is not where I really want to go, I didn't feel fulfilled in the sport. The world of bull riding came knocking through contacts that I had made. It enticed me and it pulled me in and I found a new side of me being ignited that I had been waiting to meet all along. That's where I realized that I was yielding to the fears of the unknown that bull riding was providing me. That turned me on to the idea and understanding that the only way you're really going to stretch who you are, and see what you're truly capable of, is when you're putting yourself in the most uncomfortable positions. They must challenge you and radically stretch what your thinking is, what your feeling is, and what you expect to be showing up for you. That's where you go beyond your limits. 31:00 - In my life experiences those intense life experiences, I discovered my own unique superpower, if you will, to expose those blind spots and to erupt that stress. It's just a an aspect of my fabric of being who I am, when I'm grounded, and in the presence of someone, they cannot hold on to the stresses that are underlying in and underneath the surface. So it just starts to naturally come up and what I'm able to do with that is I'm able to poke at those and point at them and battle them head on with the people that I'm working with, so that we can actually eradicate them. Because the idea that our past life experiences, you're right, you can't do anything about having them. However, you can, in fact, resolve the negative impact and stress that those experiences provided you. 40:00 - Your mind believes that some, by pulling away from this podcast, that the people that are following you and listening to you somehow are going to have their own reaction to that a

Burned Bridges Lead To Better Roads: Shari Sanahi is the author of the book, “Burned Bridges Leads To Better Roads: A Survivor’s Method To Risk-Taking Through Radical Change.” Shari is a first-generation Guyanese-American author born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She has spent most of her life teaching others about Guyana’s location and culture to those who cross her path. Guyana, a country located in South America, is comprised of 6 different races: Indigenous, East Indian, African, Portuguese, European and Chinese. She was published in the zine from New Zealand titled “Phantom Billstickers, which can be purchased on Amazon. Thank you in advance as we catch up on episode releases since our host, Scott Mulvaney, started returning from his time off to finish writing and self-publishing his inspirational first book, "So You Want To Be A Hotshot" on Amazon. Shari's Bio Continued: Shari obtained a B.A. in Biology from Stockton University in 2011. In 2008, she took on an immense love for boxing and padwork training. In 2012, Shari began her training at Commando Krav Maga and Diamond Mixed Martial Arts Academy, a Muay Thai, Krav Maga, and Jiu-Jitsu studio located in Philadelphia. When she moved to Los Angeles, she later became a boxing instructor at Title Boxing. Before taking an initial cross country road trip which she completed in 3 days, Shari obtained her 200-hour Power Yoga certification from Grace and Glory Yoga, located in New Jersey, in 2017. After getting an initial taste of Los Angeles, she fell so in-love with the city that she decided to take a one-way-flight with no set place to stay to truly find her way after taking a break for one month. This journey had to be undertaken to complete her first book, which would lay the groundwork and foundation she had been searching for all of her life. Trauma and a difficult upbringing created a pretty unsteady foundation. Her recently published book creates a road map that got her onto better roads, and she hopes to help people from all walks of life walk on better roads as a result of reading her book. Along with yoga and boxing, she was able to complete two 10-day Vipassana meditation retreats at S.N. Goenka’s meditation center in Shelburne Falls, MA. These modalities helped her to understand the importance of discipline that helped to create this book, and also were modalities which helped her to heal emotionally and physically.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Take Risks! It's not some people call you got to be more great or, you're too black and white. It's don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, all these different things, but some people you have, there's a certain wiring for a reason. 23:00 - Oh, from the outside looking in, or I'm very much the same. I like real, because I've been through so much in my life. So what I like to hear those stories of like rags to riches or so for me, it's a viewer. I also like to know what made people tick, because how could you, how can I put this I myself, but I'm doing things I don't want to be upset about stuff. I want to be like, it's music, it's with movies, like I want something real and passionate. Whoa, that was so heavy. You can't fake that. So it's feeling and seeing how I feel, just because it's how I really felt some type of way to write the book. 31:30 - I'm gonna give you a very surface fact. So at 12 years old, I was already smoking cigarettes, at 13 years old I was already drinking and liked going and hanging out with friends. You know, going into parents liquor cabinets, and let's take this gin, blah-blah-blah. At 14 years old, okay, this person or not found marijuana, so we're gonna smoke formaldehyde too. 42:35 - What are you willing to suffer? I was willing to, I rather suffered. We all have pain, right? I say some choose to suffer for greatness and some people choose to suffer because they feel great. This is escape. So I said, listen, this thing's gonna hurt. I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I don't know how I'm going to figure it out. But I would rather suffer this pain. That's where the risk taking comes in, no risk, no story, no all-in, no story. 55:20 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: Well, it's like I said, it's jus

Ep 389Franchising Mentorship with Kim Daly

Gain the Coaching and Mentorship to be Successful in Business and in Life: SPECIAL Timing Note: We originally recorded this episode in November 2021. Thank you in advance as we catch up on episode releases since our host, Scott Mulvaney, started returning from his time off to finish writing and self-publishing his inspirational first book, "So You Want To Be A Hotshot" on Amazon. Kim Daly has spent the last 20 years helping people achieve financial freedom by enabling them to find the perfect franchise opportunities. Her skill for matching a client’s background, interests, skills, finances and life goals to the ideal opportunity has made her one of the top franchise consultants in the country. Today, we are here to pick her brain and gain some insight into what can seem like a daunting process - deciding on the perfect franchise to enable you to gain financial freedom. Quote: Your Imagination is a preview of your life's coming attractions. ~ Walt Disney   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://thedalycoach.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/dalykim/ https://www.youtube.com/c/thedalycoach https://www.facebook.com/createwealththrufranchising   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/996yuFJh_II   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 06:15 - I worked for three years for somebody, but I knew from day one that I wanted to be self-employed. So I was working inside a franchise company and I became like a very high paid salesperson very quickly, I figured out like, you know, relationship and you know, how to be you know, drive result because I was, again always into goals and, you know, discipline and self-motivation. 10:55 - Now, there's the book theory of running a business and then there's real world. The example I always give is, look, I can tell you what it's like to ride a bike, since you're a cyclist, right? I can tell you what you're going to do mechanically. But until you sit on a bike and feel what it feels like to balance a bike underneath you, you can't really understand what it feels like to ride a bike. 20:25 - I will first backup to say. If I stopped growing, how can I be one of America's top consultants? That's ridiculous. So yeah, I reached the pinnacle of what I do as a franchise consultant years ago, but my friends are like, no moss grows on your drink. So I'm gonna say I peaked at 40 and then I never dared take a chance or do anything different?! So no, what I did was, I wasn't able to then turn to mentors inside my industry. But I found mentors outside of my industry, I found people who were creating wealth, in ways different than what I was using, real estate syndication, using infinite banking policies, using storage, using real tangible assets, I found somebody that had personal net worth of $100 million. 30:00 - We all have the internal power to create that WHY for ourselves. That's what fuels every single thing. My WHY isn't money, my WHY is influence, my WHY is helping people I see. The satisfaction for me, isn't taking somebody from I have the dream to leave corporate America, or I have the dream to own a business. But I don't know how to make it come true and taking them through a one to two month process to where I'm happily marrying them off to their franchisor. 40:25 - In a lot of businesses, the franchisor doesn't want the investor to invest in the land up front, save your cash, put it into the business, make sure this is a business you're going to enjoy. Make sure you have enough cash flow to get the business up and positively, you know, cash flowing, and then maybe look to buy out your landlord over time. Automotive is like a great industry for that for people that ultimately want to own the real estate. 49:20 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I would say Scott that freedom is the most honest state of the human being right. We were created for joy and joy is really only ever fully achieved when we feel free. Freedom comes with a price. Usually, in the context of owning a business. The price is courage. It's the courage to put yourself into the arena. But in a franchising situation, it doesn't require like pure guts, it requires you following the lead of other people, those who've already figured it out. I can be your guide to help find those people to find an organization where you believe that you can thrive. So it's not like getting into that airplane, getting to your cruising altitude, and then jumping out having never skydived before all by yourself. It's skydiving out of that airplane with somebody on your back who's done this hundreds of times, and who can help you carefully land where you're trying to go. That's really going to sum it up. So for those people that are inspired by the idea to own your business, it's never going to be the right time. It's never going to feel 100%, like, oh my gosh, this is it, I gotta go do this. There's always going to be those doubts, those insecurities, those anxieties, but if you want th

So if it's not totally dark, when you're sleeping, your body knows. Our bodies, even if you're covering your eyes, your body can tell that the light is there, because every single cell in our body is being programmed by that light. So I've done all these things and then like drinking a Red Bull before you go to bed, right? 21:50 - One of the things I was learning was the importance of being in the sun for making vitamin D. I knew you couldn't make vitamin D in the winter and a lot of places, but I'd never thought much about it beyond that. I gave my kids a supplement, because the pediatrician told me to and that was kind of it. So I downloaded the D minder app, which tells you where the sun is in the sky, and it geo locates you and tells you how much vitamin D you can make on that day, depending on where you are. 32:15 - I love it. That's beautiful, Scott, and that's exactly it, right? It goes back to what we were saying before. You can take really good care of yourself. But then if you go to bed in a pile of asbestos, everything you've done that day is not going to save you right. So it's if not taking care of our light is like I would say as toxic as sleeping in a pile of asbestos. 40:45 - You do want to be getting some blue light during the day. That's the reason the darker the lenses, the more blue light is being blocked. There is no blue light in nature after sunset. There is blue light present in nature, during the day, especially around high noon. However, the natural light that you get from the sun, while it contains some of the blue spectrum, you never get just the blue on its own. It's always balanced out with some orange and some yellow and some red. I mean, it's the Sci Fi like it's not blue. So high noon, when you when it's like that really bright, intense light, that's when you have the most blue light present and the least red and then sunrise and sunset. Obviously, it flips around and the blue almost disappears. So if you were nighttime blue blockers during the day, you're still messing up your circadian rhythm. Because you're, you're telling it there's no blue light, which will trick your body, it'll make you sleepy. 50:20 - I have my red light on. So if there's decent quality and then this, I like that. So that's from a company called EMR tech. Yet these are those nice little lens. So it's not like a full red light panel where you can lay in front of it. and do your whole body. They do have those too. 01:10:00 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: I'm gonna go back to when I was at when I asked the doctors, when this type of information would make it into med school. And they said if if it ever does, it'll be another 15-20 years. And what I've realized through my research is there's something called the translational gap, when new information or a new discovery is validated and real. But there's, there's a lag between when it has been discovered, like say penicillin, and when it's something that's actively prescribed through the medical system. And we're in that gap right now with this type of information. And that gap is being filled with things like this podcast, and listening to this podcast and having mentors like you, and being people who are willin

We don't take the technical approach to it, you don't have to understand what binaural beats are to appreciate what we've done. 06:00 - We've encompassed some of that in our gratitude videos, because we find that it's more engaging to the listener. There is something about the mind, it wants to kind of resolve that little slight difference that they hear and in the frequency, the tone. So that makes it more engaging to draw you into meditation. 10:00 - I mean, it is very, very interesting how people react to certain music and when I am getting ready to volunteer again for the convalescent homes, and the the director, the activity director that I spoke to said, those Alzheimer's patients don't remember the names or the the places they went to. They don't even speak much, but when they hear the music that they are familiar with, they start singing they have not forgotten the lyrics to the songs. So yes, music plays a huge role in mental illnesses, disabilities, you know, simple things like get you going. 20:00 - Check out Dope Panels, we just got the trademark, 100% dope and dope panels 28:00 - In addition to the audio, the thing that we did here is we took the audio, it's kind of an introduction to meditation for some people tell us it's a good place to start. But we also added video and we added an on screen informational kit content, which really kind of doubles the impact because you're connecting multiple modalities. 30:00 - Our 90 Minute suicide is a film, it's called stay alive. It was aimed at communicating with people who were in a very dark place. 41:00 - I'm from Japan. Yeah. I am a city girl, I'm from Tokyo and you know, city I know. Having worked with Tokyo Disney, the new newest ride the hottie ride with de Mads, like all six songs. It was it was really, really fun project. 51:00 - My partner is actually an ex car race driver. He raced for 20 years and he's done enough carbon damage that he really wants to save the environment. He's a two time cancer survivor when he was 19. He had cancer when he was 21. He got everything metastasized, and he was dying at 98 pounds and cannabis helped him survive. 57:05 - Fin

Ep 386Autoimmune Diseases and What’s Wrong With My Child

E

Autoimmune conditions and diseases are real. Do you wonder what's wrong with your child? Elizabeth Harris is a devoted mother, author and science-minded business owner with more than two decades of experience in the field of wellness. Elizabeth’s education, life experience, drive and entrepreneurial spirit proved to be the very thing that saved the life of both herself and her son after they were diagnosed with rare and very serious autoimmune diseases. In 2008, Elizabeth’s son came down with a case of strep throat, after receiving antibiotics he seemed to be feeling better, but then his behavior became erratic. After consulting numerous doctors, specialists and undergoing multiple tests, Elizabeth’s son was diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS) and he was prescribed psychiatric medication and they were sent on their way. Her son got worse. He began having uncontrollable compulsions and ended up in a juvenile detention center. His psychiatric symptoms were replacing his physical symptoms and Elizabeth realized that her son’s immune system was misfiring. Around the same time, Elizabeth was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome, experienced hair loss, limb numbness and more. Elizabeth decided to take matters into her own hands, quit her job and dedicated her life to finding the real root of her son’s health issues. She discovered that both herself and her son were infected by a bacteria called Mycoplasma Pneumonia and was able to follow a treatment plan to finally solve their health issues. Today, Elizabeth uses her experience and her expert wellness team to help others at What’s Wrong Wellness and is also the author of What’s Wrong with My Child and America is Infected.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Investing tests and risking losing your home. Putting your children's health first. Autoimmune issues are real and your children can be healthy and "normal" again.   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: whatswrongwellness.com labellafamosa.com www.facebook.com/elizabethharrisauthor www.instagram.com/elizabethharrisauthor   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/gb1TMrwsTQI   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 05:00 - Well, they weren't the same, they didn't present the same. But ultimately they were and so that was the confusing piece. I mean, there was some good news and bad and we had adopted two children as well. So everyone was showing symptoms, you know, when you get all this information, and this or that and finally, one day, I'm like, well, wait a minute. 11:30 - I just trusted our pediatrician that he knew what to do. But it was very odd. When my ex-husband and my son were over there when this happened. We both witnessed him just completely going into these episodes, it was an episode with one specific actor struck. 19:30 - I just took a hiatus, a sabbatical basically, just to be a full time mom, stay at home, and keep an eye on everything. Then our housekeeper comes in one day with a sore throat and had strep. And here comes around to I mean, almost immediately, it sent him through the roof, this time with a whole new on flight, and a variety of psychiatric symptoms yet again. So it's like a next level. So like now it's not just OCD and ADHD, this time we had oddness and the compulsions to live there. 30:00 - I'm waiting really and I'm like looking at all these labs. I'm taking him to all of these doctors just to make sure I haven't missed anything but the only thing in his system is streptococcal pneumonia and his titers are always really high when he's in bad shape and a mycoplasma pneumonia infection. One or two doctors already said, that doesn't mean anything. But you know, once we had the other things in place, that was the only thing still left. So I said, okay, this has to be this, like, it's nothing else. We had the genes tested at $10,000 in genetic testing, on top of the fact that, my adopted children had them. So at the end of the day, I was like, I gotta learn more about this mycoplasma pneumonia. 40:00 - I'm either gonna order $3,000 worth of these antibiotics, we're gonna get cured, or we'll lose a house and we're gonna die anyways. 52:43 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: Trust yourself, advocate for yourself. Don't be intimidated. Just, if you feel something is off, something's off. Don't let yourself get talked out of it.   Positive Actions: My New Book is LIVE! And if you haven't seen the movie, I definitely recommend recommend it as just a way to honor those, those guys that are no longer with us, but but it's the human factors, right. Like you mentioned, there's, there's policies, and there's procedures, and then there's science, right, there's the weather that we can't always predict. But really, we specialize and when we're training people, you know, we can't control all those other factors. But we're trying to teach people the human factors. 40:00 - In reference to Situational Awareness, a lot of times I try to recognize when things aren't going like they should. Ep 383Hotshot Book Launch with Hilary Jastram

E

Enjoy This August 2021 Book Launch Throwback Episode: I took a big break during 2021 to ensure we could finish launching my first book, "So You Want To Be A Hotshot" and well, we did it! This podcast episode was originally a Facebook LIVE video on my personal feed there during our book launch day. So please listen in with my editor and publisher partner, Hilary and I celebrate and discuss lessons learned. With 20+ years in the digital marketing trenches, J . Hill Marketing & Creative Services is the expert. Period. Here is Hilary's bio below. Quote: You OWE it to your book to take time and not rush it! ~ Hilary Jastram I am the founder of J. Hil Creative, a marketing agency specializing in premier copywriting, editing, and book editing for Fortune 500 brands and the “one-percent” superstar entrepreneurs. Bookmark Publishing House, a division of J. Hil Creative, was born out of necessity when the inquiries I put out to help authors publish their masterpieces gained traction. Now, it is Bookmark that demands most of my time–and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Authors who come to me get a genuine assessment of what they need to do to reach the book publishing finish line. I am qualified to teach them as this is a road I have traveled myself. It’s important that an author works with an editor who has been in the book writing trenches–who is an author themselves. So the process is one of not just empathy but sympathy. When I tell authors I understand their confusion and overwhelm, their fear of releasing their book baby into the world, I absolutely mean it. This is why I love being a book coach so much! There is nothing like being witness to a writer’s strength growing in ways that surprise even them. I tell myself every day that I have the best job on the planet. Since 2016, Bookmark has helped over 100 authors everywhere get published! That’s a number I’m pretty proud of. I attribute our success to my incredible team of experts ranging from proofers, formatters, designers, marketers, copywriters, and editors. Another one of my labors of love is the Go Book Yourself podcast that allows authors to master writing, marketing, and publishing one byte at a time. It’s my hope that this podcast will provide peace of mind through the sharing of relevant and road-tested tips, tricks, and industry insights, so authors can gain the confidence they need to move forward on the steps to publication. As you are about to learn, there’s no feeling like becoming an author in the entire world. Wearing the crown of authorhood belongs solely to you. Nothing can ever take it away. And in my eyes, nothing can ever beat it. Although my time is dedicated mainly to Bookmark, I am available for copywriting, publishing, and marketing consultations. Please reach out using the Contact option on the menu at the top of the page. I can’t wait to speak with you soon!   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Be patient with the process, even a Hotshot can struggle. Stay inspired to ensure your motivation to the end. Partner with the right professional to push you to the finish line   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://jhilcreative.com https://www.instagram.com/j_hil_creative/   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/4BwsHA5_tNc   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 10:25 - I have to stay sane and married. So I'm gonna make a command decision right now to do those things. I admired your dedication. I admired your focus, and you came back to it. So some people don't come back to it. I don't know why this is. 17:10 - You already had that commitment. I think he was robbed but what stuck out for me and what I just kind of chuckled over and I really enjoyed watching you get into and wade around in... You fully immersed yourself in the total geekiness of living as a minimalist. That that was joyful for me. 22:30 - So I do mention that in the book. There's already been a movie about the Granite Mountain Hotshots who passed away June 30, 2013. I got to serve alongside of them with my crew Pleasant Valley Hotshots in 2010, 2011, on different fires. Then, unfortunately, when I stepped away from the profession, they ended up passing away. 19 of the 20 men lost their lives on the Yarnell Hill fire on June 30, 2013 trying to protect the town of Yarnell outside of Prescott, Arizona. 30:35 - It's not you, it's me. I think my line was, man I was such a douche, I think my line was, was like, listen, I can be gone for a month at a time or two months at a time. It's not fair to you or I to take those matters of the heart like that so lightly. Honestly, deep down, I didn't want to. I didn't want to risk my heart, I was shut down. I saw people on my crew struggling, being engaged, being married, worrying about people cheating on you while you're gone. So I was like, dude, this is only for like, sometimes four to six weeks. I can't imagine people in the military what they go through. It took a lot of years of work to pull my head out of my

For years, I would steal it, she would know it. It was a little bit bigger than me, so I kind of grew into it. We actually moved to Burnsville way up through 309. We're just a little bit outside the Parkland School District, but I refuse to go to Northwestern High School is a different district. So I would ride my bike almost every day to train for wrestling from Burnsville down the back way through down to the old Parkland High School, which is Orefield, and it was just a fantastic ride. 21:30 - I wanted to write for Outside, Men's Health, and Men's Journal which are the ones we talked about. Yeah, they just wouldn't have me. They're like, hey, nice job, kid. Here's a lollipop go read our magazine somewhere else. I was like, well I think I'm a good writer. I think I can handle this and they wouldn't even give me the time of day. So I did my first Triathlon in the fall of 1999. I did the Catalina Island Triathlon off the coast of Los Angeles. I had lost 100 and change pounds to do my first race. I was miserablfe. I was unhappy. So I gained all this weight, a long story, but I ended up losing it all. Because I was training for triathlons. I didn't know I was just running and my knees couldn't sustain me because I was too heavy. So I started biking like I used to, and then, long story short, I'm cycling and swimming and running and someone said you should do a triathlon. I said, okay and I signed up for one in November of 1999. 30:00 - I think clydesdale calss was never closer, I think it was 200 lbs. But regardless, you're talking about whether they were fantastic triathletes or not, they were still athletes, and they're still out there doing it. I don't care how big you are, or if you're like, quote, in shape or out of shape. You have significantly different needs at that size. I mean, just the square inches of pound pressure you put on your feet as you run is just substantially different. So we would talk about things for them, we were the first. There was a woman out of California, her name is Rachel Sears, she was a semi pro athlete, she married a guy named Phil Cosanta. These are names I haven't heard of in years, who was a coach out there. She convinced me that there was a mechanisation in any kind of training called periodization. That is how you peak when you peak, how you put baseballs and so forth, and how you get ready for a race. It's this series of weeks to train for a race. So she wrote an article on what periodization was all about, how do women stay at their top performance if they're on their period. We're talking people were telling me don't print that article and she was telling me you need to print this article. I'll tell you I've never received before, since, and I worked for other magazines after this, so many positive reviews. Specifically from women stating that no one ever told them about this stuff. So I think we were really groundbreaking in many ways. I wish I would have known then that we were so so forthright and so innovative, because I think we could have capitalized on it could have been more successful. 38:50 - I'm completely online and virtual. So I do have a couple of virtual people that I outsource to stuff like that. I don't have full blown like, teenagers who you're talking about, but I agree with you 110% that you cannot find the same psychological connectivity virtually, that you do physically. Obviously, I want people to be healthy and safe and whatever your position is on COVID and all this transition, but it's like in the end, e

Ep 381EdTech, Online Learning, and Virtual Life with Jordan Levy of CapSource

E

Jordan Levy Is Here To Discuss Online Learning, A Virtual Life, and Educational Technology: Jordan is a serial education technology entrepreneur. He has started two EdTech companies that help higher-ed programs bridge the skills gap for their students through experiential learning. His method is to integrate real companies into the education process through hands-on collaborations that expose learners to new circumstances with real stakeholders, challenges, and outcomes. Quote: Learning is experience. Everything else is just information. His company CapSource makes building and scaling industry-integrated project-based experiential learning programs easy. Through a combination of software and services, CapSource helps educators match with companies and design projects based on narrow academic requirements. Jordan started his first company, Real Time Cases, while an undergraduate at Lehigh University studying Accounting, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. Outside of work, Jordan is passionate about cooking, hiking, traveling, sailing, tennis, public speaking, photography, mixology, and coaching/connecting fellow entrepreneurs.   Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: The new world of Education Technology. Online Learning and Mentoring for businesses. The power and fun of a Virtual Lifestyle.   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: @CapSource - https://www.facebook.com/CapSourceEdu @CapSourceEdu - https://twitter.com/CapSourceEdu https://www.linkedin.com/company/capsource-education/ https://www.instagram.com/capsourceedu/   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/8-fEEN910RI https://youtu.be/8-fEEN910RI   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 08:15 - The reality is, we put a lot of pressure on our educators to solve all of society's problems in the way that they teach and educate and prepare our youth for the future. That's the main objective of our education system is to prepare a future workforce. Now, the reality is, those people are often in education, and never got a chance to enter the workforce in the same way that the 80 to 90% of people do. They are back in education, they spend their careers in education, they trained to be an educator, so we cannot expect of them to guide in a way that a professional mentor, you know, someone from industry would guide. And so that's kind of the issue, right? 13:45 - What we see is virtual learning is really just the theory, like the theory based learning that's now being done in a virtual world, which is not experiential learning. We're not changing the way that we're teaching. We're just changing the modality in which the educators connect with students. So obviously, the best schools, the most progressive institutions are not only transitioning to virtual, but they're also redesigning their curriculum around optimizing for virtual environment. So that's the first thing. The second thing is if you think about that concept of learning, ever since you were a child, you were dropped off at school, and that's where you learned, and then you came home from school. And that's where you're not learning, right? 22:00 - Now we're living in a world where it's not just the data, but it's the AI tools that are being built to analyze that data. So we're on version two, version three, version four of platforms, and it's never not going anywhere, like all of this stuff. It's amazing, internet drops in a place what do people do? Right? 31:05 - The reality is, what a great way to hire people, right? There is a current age-old philosophy which is the case assessments. That's where we're doubling down into that as a tool to get students paired up with the right companies for the internships. So the first thing is, Can you answer this basic challenge, which requires that I learned about the company, it requires that I learn about their their challenges in different departments, it requires that I practice using some tools that I likely will need to use. Then after that, let's give them a real project to work on. That's going to take four weeks, and now they have more expectations, milestones, deliverables, someone to talk to you at the company. Now you have an entry level talent pipeline, you're able to recruit and hire them to really make an impact on your organization. 44:15 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: Well, I'll stick with this kind of mentor notion and just say that the best way to learn is to teach it's a great you know, tactic for, you know, teaching and employees how to perform better is to give them someone something to teach, so that they can learn it better. Because you you forget you neglect to think about how much documentation goes into teaching, right? Like you're like, oh, if I'm going to try to teach someone how to use our CRM, like I should probably explain like what a CRM is and compare it to other ones and talk about why we use it. And like some of that's that prep process gets you to think more deeply about why you use these

Getting Transparent Around These Transitions In The World With the state of the economy and the stock market, I think it would be valuable for your listeners to hear how they can be more consistent in the market and have a successful year ahead, whether they’re investing for passive income or for growth and whether they’re new or seasoned investors. And not through the traditional ways of investing that everyone teaches, but by rewiring their brain and behavior, and using words, NLP, and past trauma to do what's best for growing their money. Most of which are the opposite of what they've been taught or have never heard. RC Peck, CFP sits at the intersection of money and human behavior. For over 20 years he’s helped people hear what their money is trying to tell them. His struggle with dyslexia, watching his parents’ life savings get embezzled, and his background in NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), taught him to question the obvious. Quote: Men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song in their head.” ~ Thoreau He now uses his ability to see what others can’t see which brings clarity and insight to a world that is often described as confusing and overwhelming. His message is clear. Listen to your money. It’s trying to tell you how to get the life you want.   Today’s Guest & Resource Links: RC Peck's 1st podcast was Episode 296: Stop Hiding and Stop Lying for Fearless Wealth Book: Fearless Wealth on Amazon FearlessWealth.com Facebook.com/FearlessWealth twitter.com/fearlesswealth linkedin.com/in/rcpeck youtube.com/fearlesswealth   Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/yC4x5RqauDA   Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction 04:40 - No more posturing. I've always been into the outdoors. I've always I bought a mountain light in 1989 this small company called North Face came out this new type of jacket called the mountain light and it is the first jacket ever wear was just the layer there was no insulation in it, it was longer. It was a shelf. It was it was one of the first years and I grew up outside of Chicago. And there's there was no Rei where I lived or anything like that. 10:00 - But think about this. You just watch someone on TV, you see them in their family room. Okay, he's got a suit on. To me, that's really weird. So hold on, it's deep COVID shut down, you're in wherever some state words, you know, deep, deep state shut down. We know like, I think unconscious, like, why did you put the costume on dude? Like, we know you're working from home. 19:45 - I think about this, like this stuff. People were scared about the FED. The federal funds rate is a quarter, it shouldn't be a quarter that the balance sheet of the FED quantitative easing blah, blah, blah garbage garbage, pe ratio. 24:20 - So when people use financial terms, you sound like everybody else. They mean nothing and they don't work anymore. It's like someone says the PE ratio is the highest and it's been there since 1929. I'm like, so what is it now? But I know enough because I geek out on this stuff, and my comeback is always July 1997. The PE ratio is the highest since 1929. Do you know what happened after July 1997 to march 2000? They go, no, well the NASDAQ went up two to 300%. So you would have given up 300% because of some ratio? And the answer is they don't. I'm not throwing them under the bus, but no one's taught them how to look at the market. 30:00 - So companies on the margin, they're gone. Companies, were just a maybe, they're gone. Companies that really succeeded, they realized I gotta pivot, I got to figure out how to get my tacos out online. They pivoted, they put lines on their parking lot so that people can come in and they felt like they accelerated the process. 40:00 - Well, so this is one of the first things I say to say to someone, I go, you can buy the S&P with dividends reinvested for free. Before it was free it would cost you five bucks to buy in a cost a couple basis points. But now it doesn't cost you any basis points to own that fund, doesn't cost you anything to buy it. So it's free. It's been free for a long time because 495 is free to me. So you have this free index that you can go get now for free. If you can't beat the free unmanaged index, or your big box advisor can't, then what are you doing? 50:45 - So if you're making 150 a year, and let's say, you have 150 saved, and then 150 grows by 10 percent, like 15 grand you're like wow. I'll go to you know, Olive Garden, the brain is just like, what's the point?! There's a point in between 45 and 50, where the brain really goes, wait a second. I don't want to deal with this shit anymore. It's not a millennial thing. It's literally a 22-year-old to a 45-year-old brain. Wealth is income and it continues to help your wealth in between because the biggest earning years for most people is 45 to 55. 01:09:05 - Final Words Shown Below…   Our Final Words of the Show: People have unnecessary tr

Ep 378What is an Outsource School for Virtual Assistants and Entrepreneurs

E

Entrepreneurs with with virtual assistants outsource schooling: Nathan Hirsch is an entrepreneur and expert in remote hiring. Most recently, Nathan co-founded FreeeUp.com in 2015 with an initial $5,000 investment, scaled it to $12M per year in revenue, and was then acquired in 2019. Today, Nathan is a co-founder of Outsource School, a company working to educate entrepreneurs on how to effectively hire and scale with virtual assistants through formulas and playbooks. Nathan has appeared on 300+ podcasts, is a social media personality, and loves sharing advice on scaling remote businesses. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Don't give up on employee help when you can get virtual assistants.5 new hours of freedom can change your life. Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Facebook: Outsource SchoolLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/outsourceschoolTwitter: SchoolOutsourceOutsourceSchool: Outsource School | The Best Outsourcing Course OnlinePersonal Links:Facebook: Nathan HirschTwitter: realnatehirschLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nathanhirsch/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/realnatehirsch/ Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/CSXEXeb7QYA Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction05:25 - Now, did she ever get the chance to work remote until these crazy 2020 changes? Or no? No? Oh, so this is her first opportunity experiencing what you and I know.10:00 - We transitioned from remote to the office, which was actually like a huge culture drain for people, we can slowly tell that people started to hate it more and more as they drove to the office. Some people moved to Florida and they missed their family. There's a lot of elements going on there. I think personally, I mean, I never had a corporate job after college. I'm much more productive remote, where I can work in shorts and a T shirt and wake up and I usually do the most important thing every day and kind of have my own schedule.22:40 - Absolutely, but they're doing a great job with live streaming. I'm a workout junkie, I do intense workout every day and their live streams are awesome. They have a bunch of people together. It's fun. It's high energy and it's all I've been doing as a workout since COVID started. So it's kind of the the force pivot that they had to do, but very smart.30:13 - We sold pre op in November of last year. We launched Outsourcing School in March of 2020. So once we got through the holidays and celebrated, we hit the ground running with our school.41:55 - We are cracking the code, we go through interviewing, onboarding, training and managing. A lot of the reducing turnover stuff comes down into the management part, although there's parts of it and interviewing and onboarding. In terms of marketing, we have lead generation, we have influencers out there, and we have podcasts.49:40 - It's a real role in your company. It's something very important, like customer service or sales. The default should always be full time. Now, I always say that with hesitation because if you're someone listening and you can't afford someone full time, you should absolutely hire someone part time and eventually make them full scale, hire another person.54:20 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: To me, life's too short to do stuff that you don't want to do. I'm all about flexibility, freedom, doing whatever you want, whenever you want, within reason. If you don't have that flexibility and you're an entrepreneur, chances are it comes down to your systems, your processes, your teams, and if everything we talked about sounds a little bit overwhelming. Start off with just getting five hours a week back you'll be amazed at just hiring a five hour week virtual assistant what it'll do for your personal life, your relationships, your business life, your focus by the stuff like that can be game changers like guy that's gonna cost you 1300 bucks a year. You're gonna get six and a half weeks back a year just by hiring a VA for five hours a week. It's gonna get addicting. And my goal is to get as many people as possible into that flexibility, freedom lifestyle that I'm in, and I'm very grateful for. Positive Actions:Help us reach more listeners with a 5-Star Review on iTunes and Submit a ReviewPlease consider supporting our 501c-3 non-profit and visit http://fuelfoundations.orgJoin our private Facebook community The FUEL UP MindsetNeed brand growth?! You've got to be squared away, or dialed in. We use that term interchangeably. So, people who have served know it's critically important.15:45 - It's being a good handler and understanding what that communication means. It's their ears, it's their tail, it's for some dogs, their hackles. It's the sound of the bark of defense versus a prey bark. You know, it's very, very different stuff.20:00 - We gave it some time. This was four or five years ago, she ended up losing 54 pounds, and has kept it off for the last five years. So we knew that at that point, after the first six months when she had pretty significant results. We tested it out on a few other of our friends. One guy blew their results out of the water. He drives a bread truck for a living and he managed to lose 84 pounds.30:45 - It's a very, very unique mindset and it's a very unique calling. You know, sometimes, it is just nice for these places to be recognized, rather than beat up, it's not easy.40:35 - It's hard to convey that message on these various platforms, without having to do a certain amount of promotion around it. When we've brought people on to the company, it's not until sometimes after that, that they realize this is our larger mission. We just want them aligned from a values perspective, and it naturally flows to our initiatives, and everybody gets behind it.49:45 - We have something very, very, very similar and it's just a sound.. Whatever supplements that you like, for me, magnolia bark, magnesium, etc. It's 250-300 milligrams a night, I can literally feel the wave of sleep coming over me. I'll get into bed at eight and I'll be asleep by sometimes 805 my wife says she's so jealous, it's like it's a gift. I mean, hers is more pain related, managing back pain, and so her sleep comes a little bit longer. We focus on that relentlessly. That's when all your weight loss happens. That's when your memories are regenerated. Your cells are regenerate synaptic pathways are being healed, or new ones are still being created.51:40 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: You know, healthy people and a healthy planet, that really is what drives me, each and every day. That's the first thing I focus on in the morning which is achieving that mission. I know that when we are able to improve people's quality of life, that in turn that affects exponentially more people. So we're just committed to that mission. Ep 375Why Make Fitness a Priority with Chad Austin

E

Chad is helping people figure out how fitness best fits in their life so they can make it a priority: Chad Austin is a personal trainer, speaker, and the owner of Priority Fitness in Overland Park, Kansas. Priority Fitness’s name was inspired by his best selling book, Make Fitness A Priority: How to win the fight against your excuses. Chad was inspired to focus his speaking and writing on long term health after seeing so many people reach their short term fitness goals only to fall back into bad habits. Chad is passionate about helping people who can’t find time for fitness learn how to stop making excuses, so they can make it a priority in their lives. He expertly helps steer people away from the desire of instant gratification and helps them make changes that lead to long term fitness, not just temporary success.Quote: Make Fitness A Priority: How to win the fight against your excuses.Chad knows firsthand the power that exercise can have in transforming your mental and physical health, and through his public speaking engagements, books, personal training programs (both in-person and online), and 6-week challenges, he is making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Marathons take time, planning, patience, and hard work.Excuses only delay your potential of success.A positive and motivated mindset drives the eventual physical results. Today’s Guest & Resource Links: https://www.facebook.com/kindlebooky/?ref=bookmarkshttps://www.instagram.com/make.fitness.a.priority/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvNM8paXraAwUbfV8eJCGng  Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/mQo_mc1mGdc Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction11:40 - I wasn't really virtual before. I had the online programs and online training options. I had a few clients that I trained online that we did 12 weeks at a time with but I didn't really have a virtual program. So that's something that we just kind of had to come up with on the fly.20:00 - The last thing a guy wants to hear is skinny. Right? People are waiting to hold on. So if you don't work out, you lose weight. I said, yeah, people don't like hearing that30:00 - With the marathon, when you have a big fitness goal, whether it be a big weight loss goal, or a big transformation goal, I mean, it seems like a marathon in the second if you don't train your mind, right. If you don't celebrate the little milestones to further original successes, then I mean, eventually you won't make it because it'll feel like it feel like you're never going to get there.34:40 - Basically every every excuse is really just an obstacle you haven't overcome yet but I think just the this to me, I think the taking on the big challenges and everything and just trying to push myself where weren't your body just as done in the rest of it is up to your mind. I think every every time it just it prepares me for when things get tough in life.45:00 - The doughnuts are basically those are the curveballs that we can't see coming. And so like there were you just have to completely change the game plan and change and throw the game, throw the game, plan out the window and adapt and so like, would be whether the bad weather donor, so you're planning on running in the morning, and you open the door and it's pouring down, right. And so you could either go to bed, and so a good solution would be to run in the rain. But or maybe a harder one would be the the single parent who's planning on working out after work, and they get it or working out over their lunch break or after work, and they get a call from the school and their kid is sick.52:00 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show: Yeah, although always closing thoughts always I would love to give is about failing. I think as a fitness trainer, so you've been a trainer before. I mean, I always have I have a very, I don't like New Year's resolutions. I love goals. I think everybody should always have goals and regularly be setting goals. What I don't like about New Year's resolutions is we have ruined them, because there's just such a negative attitude about them. And a negative attitude is is that one like after six weeks of the year, there's all these stats that come out that 90% of people already failed on their new year's resolutions. And big and most new year's resolutions are about fitness. And every time I hear it, so what I just want to say so what because if you haven't failed, you're going to fit there's making fitness a priority in your life is a very important message that everyone needs to learn. There's nothing about being perfect, there's not they're going to fail, you're going to fail from time to time and and that doesn't have to end your story.Whenever you do fail, if you miss a workout or if you if you eat something you didn't plan on, if you if you had good intentions, but somehow you messed up... That doesn't mean your fitness story is over what defined you is how you respond

Ep 374Victimization, Entitlement, PTSD, & Our Prisons with Tip of the Spear author, Ryan Hendrickson

E

Ryan and scott dig deep into some hot topics around victimization, entitlement, ptsd, and his book, tip of the spear: The inspiring true story of a US Special Forces soldier who was medically retired after stepping on an IED, and his incredible return to active duty and combat.Sergeant First Class (SFC) Ryan Hendrickson is a determined, and courageous soldier -- a Green Beret clearing the way for his twelve-man team while conducting combat operations against the Taliban. As the "tip of the spear," his role is to ensure the route taken by U.S. and Afghan troops are free of IEDs -- improvised explosive devices. Many soldiers do not survive their last step; those who do often lose at least one limb. While rescuing an Afghan soldier outside a mud-hut compound in 2010 -- knowing that he was in "uncleared" territory -- Ryan stepped on an IED with his right foot. The device exploded, leaving his foot dangling at the end of his leg.American soldiers losing a limb is an all-too-common occurrence. But what makes Ryan's story different is that after undergoing two dozen surgeries and a tortuous rehabilitation, he was medically retired but fought to return to active duty. Multiple skin grafts to his leg and right foot successfully reattached his lower leg, and he was aided in his recovery by wearing a new prosthetic device known as an IDEO (Intrepid Dynamic Exoskeletal Orthosis). Once he passed a series of crucial physical tests, Ryan was able to rejoin the Green Berets within a year and physically perform his duties, redeploying to Afghanistan in March 2012.In 2016, he volunteered to return to Afghanistan with Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group. During a firefight with the Taliban, he risked his life under heavy enemy fire to rescue three Afghan soldiers cut off from friendly forces and return the bodies of two dead Afghan soldiers under the ethos that "no one gets left behind." For his heroic efforts on the battlefield, SFC Ryan Hendrickson was awarded a Silver Star, the nation's third-highest award for valor. An engaging and harrowing account, Tip of the Spear tells the amazing story of one Green Beret's indomitable spirit. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Watch out for EntitlementPTSD is real but it may have gotten too bigDon't fall into the trap of Victimization Today’s Guest & Resource Links: Ryanmhendrickson.com Instagram: @tipofthespearrmh https://www.facebook.com/ryan.hendrickson.1238 Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/AApjSwkFWQY Timestamped Show Notes: 00:30 - Introduction09:50 - Yes, well, overmanned career fields in the Air Force. They were doing a direct transfer over to the army if you wanted to, and I was going through a very big change in my life, the divorce and I just, I escaped. Yeah, went to the recruiter and went infantry and just went to my house and locked the door and shut the lights off. 20:00 - So it was kinda, I guess kind of the place that I was at when I actually opened up my keyboard and, or my laptop and started typing was, it was weird because when I went back and kind of read what I had wrote, I couldn't believe like I was pouring that kind of stuff out and I was jumping all over the place. From what I dealt with what just incidents in Afghanistan to, then I would wake up at night, and oh, man, let me it was like my body was forcing out all this shit that bothered me all the way back from when I was a kid to you name it. And I would just type it in typing and typing and type it in. 30:00 - Because see, we got to have, in my opinion, just my opinion alone, we have an issue with victimization. And America. I see it everywhere. Everyone's a victim, I can't because of this, I can't because I grew up like this. I can't because this is handed this isn't and we have entitlement. I am owed this. I am. So I deserve. And we have all of this. And my, in basically in the book, it details out my, my falling into the victimization mindset into that pit, barely, barely climbing myself out of the pit taking control of my life again, owning my circumstances is not because, you know, I grew up dirt poor, it's not because you know, I stepped on an IED, or any of the number of things that happen. Those are all those are all just speed bumps in life. 40:00 - It's because you grew up like this, this isn't your fault, or no, no, it's, it's okay. You're just, you're because you're part of this group, or you're part of this group or you grew up like this or you are, it's okay. It's not your fault is bullshit, like accountability, we have lost 100%, we have lost the ability to hold ourselves accountable for our own mistakes. It is always somebody else's fault. It is always, I mean, we're going through it right now. And I'm not going to get political on here. But watch the news.                              &

That's kind of what's going off of what you're talking about is, as they open up, they help each other through it. So maybe someone who's just going through a six foot and there's someone else going through a 20, the more shallow water might step in and help help the other one a little bit more. You know, just like when we were getting ready to cross the creek, we found quite a few paths across the creek.39:45 - In my heart of hearts, I'm a coach. That's what I thrive off of. That's what I enjoy doing.44:40 - It's also disheartening a little bit, you see people spreading negativity. 2020 is definitely go down as one of the craziest years in a long time. I think we all agree on that.48:55 - I'm doing the online coaching. The health and fitness coaching, I do that online as well. We're actually getting ready in the next couple of weeks to start digging into the book together digitally. So we're gonna start walking through the book, kind of an online retreat53:25 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show:I think that we all are given a desire for something, we're all given a gift and a desire. And you know what that is deep in your own heart. So if you're listening to that, if you're getting pulled towards something, pay attention to that, and just know and pursue it and know that obstacles will come up. Like I said, it's not always sexy to say that it's not the greatest thing to say, you know, people don't want to hear that, but it's the reality. So creeks are gonna pop up. If you know that, then you know, when it does pop up, you can pause for a second kind of assess your situation, and make your plan to keep on moving forward. But let that that desire that you have, pay attention to it, let it pull you even if like we're talking about with writing the book, I mean, I took three week breaks at certain times, I just, I was writing like crazy. And then I stopped for three weeks because I hit a block. But as you get back up, you keep going or you just slowly move, you know, you take baby steps. But whatever that is like continue to move forward. Never, never, never, never turn back. Follow that desire. Because there I think we all have a gift and helping each other. It's we all have our own unique gift. And if we're all following th

Wheelchair Life to the Exoskeleton, Human Robotics Lifestyle:I began my exoskeleton pilot certification in 2007 at the age of 18. In 2010, I was introduced to the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) where a team of engineers and computer scientists had developed MINA, their first paraplegic mobility device or exoskeleton. Over the last decade, we have worked together to develop hardware capable of mimicking the human gate and necessary software to drive it. We are currently weeks away from testing our 4th iteration exoskeleton, QUIX, as a part of our participation in Toyota's Mobility Unlimited Challenge after we compete in the 2020 Cybathlon later this year. It has been an honor to witness the advances in technology and evolution of handicap sports. In response to witnessing these miraculous achievements, I have spent the past 13 years of my life pushing the limits of the wheelchair that certified me for this opportunity. What I thought would ruin my life has given me more than I ever could have earned on my own two feet.Quote: How many stairs?Mark Daniel, Pilot Designer, evaluator, and user representative, Mark was born and raised in Pensacola. As a young adult, he graduated high school early and pursued a career in ironwork. First going to trade school for diesel mechanics, then learning how to weld and fabricate. In 2007, at eighteen years old, Mark started his career and began planning his next steps. Working long hours in risky conditions was exciting at first, but after five months the work took its toll. He fell asleep driving home, flipping his SUV several times, and awoke in the ICU of a local hospital. After learning of his paralysis, he set out to regain his independence. In 2010 Mark evaluated IHMC's first iteration exoskeleton, and again in 2013 for the second. In February 2016 he rejoined the team as a research intern to evaluate the third iteration and prepare for the Cybathlon. Mark placed second in the Cybathlon, winning the silver medal. Since the Cybathlon he has taken on the American Discovery Trail, which covers 4,834 miles from the Atlantic coast in Delaware to the Pacific in San Francisco. Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:What it takes to relearn a new way of the young adult life.Learning the teamwork to create something to help others with.Remember to leave behind your worries to create a more positive future. Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast:http://helpquix.orghttps://helpquix.org/our-pilotwww.youtube.com/channel/UCCJktumbjjRHiHPMaJd8zcwwww.youtube.com/user/TheIHMCwww.youtube.com/user/DRCihmcRobotics Watch us on YouTube:https://youtu.be/-XUDMJwbDB0 Timestamped Show Notes:00:30 - Introduction11:45 - Accidents come along. From the outside looking in, even in my position at the moment, looking at the situation that I was in, it seems like a huge detriment for me. 18-years-old, just starting my adult life, then for the accident to happen, have to restart and figure it all out all over again. But you know, I'm 31 now, it'll be 13 years in October, and, and really, looking back at the situation, it couldn't have come at a better time. I say that at 18 years old, I figured out my life, I had a career plan, I was on that plan, and I was moving forward. But I mean, really looking at the experiences up till then I grew up riding dirt bikes, go-karts, four-wheelers, skateboards, bicycles, running through the woods, fishing, hunting, you know, the good, healthy, youthful adrenaline life.20:00 - In 2010 and I met all of the engineers and everybody working on the project. There were so many different engineers, interns, and all that have worked on the project in and out, but we really just have an awesome team here. I've been graced to work with them all really, I mean, all the people that I work with here, there's Tyson in the glasses there on the right, Peter on the left, and that's Jeremy. All these people that I've known for so long and the opportunity to spend time with, and they have taught me so much. We've really just worked together so hard to come this far. I'm just really grateful for all these people, especially the team that we have now. They're working super hard.30:45 - I turned 18-years-old, and I spent five months of my adult life learning, really getting into the rungs of adult life. I'm not putting myself up there like a martyr. But that was all taken away from me, and it's really taken me up to this point to where I feel comfortable. I'm happy enough with my own abilities that I can share more with other people. It took so long for me to really accept the fact that this is where I'm going to stay in my best role. Which is to help make sure that other people don't have to suffer from some of the ways that I did.40:00 - Over the past 10 years here at ihmc, to get to the version that we're at now with the exoskeleton, and as grateful as I am for that. I'm looking still looking toward the future and there are so many things going on ri

It's like, even in the midst of a pandemic, I'm like, we are in our version of the Great Depression in the early stages of our generations only experience with this, hopefully. It's a chance to remake ourselves and a chance to put yourself in awesome different places, to go and remake yourself. That's why we're here. I've been in the process of remaking myself for a couple of years and it's a fun, beautiful adventure.10:00 - We wrote it in two months and another partner, a co-writer, I'm the lead author on it, but we created it together. It's got to go through editing and get the book cover design this month and we already have got a publisher signed off on it.20:00 - I've sold off and got rid of about 10 real estate properties that I owned in the last three years.30:00 - The principles are still true for business. How do you serve a customer? Well, you figure out what their needs are and what started happening three or four months ago may have moved the needs. It's like the fish were over in this hole, and now they're over here.41:00 - I am doing podcasts a lot today and much more recently. I got asked, do you have more podcasts planned for this trip? Or is this bad timing? I'm going to launch my own pretty soon too. This time in Mexico is kind of a mix of a work-play trip. This is almost like a focus work trip. My wife is finishing up the book that we're writing together and then she's got another book she's writing too. Then I'm gonna write some other stuff and I got a big mastermind coming up. So we had our true vacation in Alaska, where we were not plugged in, we were in a little fishing cabin that didn't even have internet. No TV in that sucker.46:30 - You're 100%. I think that your friend gave brilliant advice. There is a different energy level and mindset when you're not as outcome-focused. As you mature in business, as much as you are process and learning focused, things will shift. If you look at Elon Musk, now you have a certain level of confidence that you're going to figure it out. Elon Musk one day tweets on his way to work, so frustrated by how long it's taken him to drive, 13 miles from his house to Tesla and SpaceX. So he's like, I'm tired of this. I'm good. I'm free. I'm going to start another company. I'm gonna drill holes under California and build a network of tunnels.51:30 - Final Words Shown Below… Our Final Words of the Show:Claim your power is a two-fold process. I take people through it, where we release the old identity that is holding us back and take hold of the new. You almost have to shed that old before you can grab the new. Alright, so we release and shed that old idea, take hold of the new, more powerful version of you. So for me, my old identity, my weaker part is I call them weak, Weak Willie. The more powerful part is Magic Mike. Okay. I have to express appreciation to Weak Willie, because sometimes these old parts of ourselves that sort of sabotage our progress, have good intentions. They're trying to protect us from pain from suffering like we were bullied, or we experienced this failure, or rejection from this woman or this man or whatever, right? This wound is there. But if they control and dictate our lives, they sabotage us versus when know we're meant to show up as this powerful, magnetic, radiant version of ourselves, that attracts love, abundance, and freedom.
