Ep 320Free Debbie from Domestic Violence with Tammy Munson

E

What is a Narcissist, Narcissism, and a Public Service Announcement to Free Debbie from Domestic Abuse and Violence:Debbie's own words are below. We want to preface this by saying if we exceed our campaign goal, we will work together to make a donation to a Women's Shelter, Community Center, or Transitional Housing to be named at a later date. Thank you in advance, your Campaign Advocate ~ Scott Mulvaney. Now here are Debbie's current life transparency words:I'm a victim of domestic violence, and I’ve now learned there’s nowhere to turn. With your help, I can avoid being a casualty.Like most women, I never thought I would be here. Yet I am, I'm living with emotional and verbal abuse, worrying if each day it will turn to physical. It started slowly. The first time he threatened me, I wrote it off as a mistake. The next time, I blamed myself. Then, I declared it would be the “last time.” It wasn’t. After a while, I stopped bothering to make excuses. The abuse started to feel normal. Recently, things have gotten worse, it's bad enough now that I have realized I need to run or I will die this way. He's a functional alcoholic, who fires off insults and gaslights my every move. While he doesn't remember what he's said or done the night before he denies it ever happens and blames it on me. He's threatened to lock me out, has drawn a fist and aimed it at my face and told me to get the hell out, and take nothing. Everything, to his way of thinking, belongs to him. 30 minutes too long at the grocery and I've been with a 'boyfriend', and that sets off another round of insults. Nothing is my business, (I'm his wife right?) his health, his finances, nothing. Nothing is shared by him. He has to know the details of every penny I spend. His tossing a beloved pet across the room triggered my breaking point.I would just leave but I cannot afford to leave everything behind. As a woman of a certain age, it’s hard to recoup financially to be able to start over. Although I have contributed to our household, as well as furniture and household goods that I purchased myself, he says I have no right them. Not even my personal clothes. I have pets that I love and do not want to abandon. I need to escape.I work, but paying medical bills from a recent surgery has left my coffers drained. (He is my husband, but refuses to pay my medical expenses) He pays toward rent and utilities, part but not full, but the rest of everything is on me. This campaign is to help me get the resources I need to leave quickly and safely, with the goal of raising funds by March 15, 2020.I'm tired y’all, really tired. I’m scared if I don’t get out now, I won’t, at least not whole anyway.  I hate airing my “dirty laundry” but what I’ve been told is that I’m deserving of help, and this is not my shame, it’s his. I’m asking for help to restart my life where I can live peacefully and without fear.~ DebbieHere is the breakdown of the minimum of what I need from the $7300 minimum: $3K upfront to attorney $3K for 3 months of living, rent, and utility expenses $800 movers (can't lift anything myself due to recent shoulder surgery) $500 running money Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:Develop a supportive circle of trustCreate the escape planWork with law enforcement Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast: Go visit our GoFundMe at bit.ly/freedebbie11 Signs You’re Dating a Narcissist — and How to Get Out go visit https://www.healthline.com/health/mental-health/am-i-dating-a-narcissist#1 Our Mentioned Influencers:Tammy Munson of Business & Learning visit businessandlearning.comTammy Munson on LinkedIn visit linkedin.com/in/tammymunson Action Steps:Support our 501c-3 non-profit and visit http://fuelfoundations.orgHelp us reach more people with 5 Star Reviews, visit iTunes and Submit a ReviewJoin our private Facebook community The FUEL Tank, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheFUELTank/ Watch us on YouTube:https://youtu.be/BAXyRvCQOwI

Ep 317The Power of Aloe with Dr. Mike Haley

E

The Healing Power of Aloe and Gut Health:Dr. Michael Haley is a passionate chiropractor and health coach. He emphasizes a healthy lifestyle and nutrient-dense diet as a means to achieve optimal well being. His health principles are based on science, tradition, and in line with the scriptures. Dr. Haley owns and operates Stockton Aloe 1, makers and distributors of 100% pure raw aloe vera gel health drink and aloe vera personal care products. He also maintains his private practice as owner and physician at Agape Chiropractic in Pompano Beach, Florida. He is an expert on Phyto-Nutrition and superfoods. He graduated from the University of Tampa and went on to Life College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctorate in 1995. He is known by his colleagues as "Organic Mike" for his teachings in the area of organic chemistry and nutrition You can't make chicken salad out of chicken feces. – Quote Stockton Aloe 1 HistoryOur goal is to provide the best 100% pure raw unfiltered Aloe vera gel and products made from the same. In doing so, we are committed to continuing the legacy of Rodney Stockton.THE STOCKTON ALOE HISTORY began in 1941, when a chemical engineer suffered severe sunburn while vacationing in Florida. Finding no available product that could soothe the pain and help heal the burn, the chemist began seeking a cure … a search that would soon change his life and his career.Local residents told him of a Seminole Indian medicine man who relied on a special salve to treat burns, wounds, and intestinal disorders. The chemist collected a sample of the plant from which the salve was derived. He then took it to a prominent botanical gardener, who called it by the traditional name, “Virgin Trinity.” The botanist said the plant was a rare variety of Aloe vera – thought to be a direct descendant of the plant Nicodemus used to help prepare the body of Jesus Christ for burial (John 19:39).That intriguing news led the chemist, Rodney M. Stockton, to conduct a study of Aloe plants from around the globe. He found none more effective for supporting health and helping heal skin conditions than the Virgin Trinity, now known as Aloe barbadensis miller-stockton.Stockton worked to stabilize the gel. He was then able to produce and distribute his Aloe Vera Gel Health Drink® and Youth-Derm Ointment®. The drink was first introduced in 1951, and the ointment in 1953. Stockton remained vibrant and mentally sharp up to his passing in 2009, at 96 years of age. He attributed his excellent health to the fortunate discovery and regular use of Aloe barbadensis miller-stockton.Rodney Stockton’s longtime friend, Dr. Michael Haley, agreed to carry on the work. Dr. Haley pledged to cultivate and protect the Virgin Trinity. He continues to rely exclusively on the gel from that precious plant as the primary ingredient in every Aloe product Stockton Aloe 1 offers. That means you may be confident of obtaining the purest and most effective form of Aloe vera available anywhere when you order from us. Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:The benefits of aloe veraConfusion on dietsHidden chemicals that are killing you. Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast:https://www.facebook.com/StocktonAloe1 https://www.youtube.com/user/aloe1aloeveragel https://aloe1.comhttps://www.youtube.com/user/aloe1aloeveragel  Timestamped Show Notes:00:30: Introduction11:00: You mentioned wine and you mentioned scotch. The wine we have today is different than the wine of 1000 years ago. If you think about it, we were hyper-fermenting it and then filling it with preservatives to stop that fermentation so we can stop the flavor right where it is. It's funny because I think about something that was written, you know, 2000 years ago, and in the scriptures that said, Stop drinking only water and use a little wine for your stomach and your frequent infirmities.20:00: In this case, she already went for an evaluation and they said you have so much cancer that we can't do surgery. You know, it metastasized to your liver and that's all over the place. It's all over your intestines. We can't take it out because there'll be nothing left that can run your body.31:00: I was bothered because something told me that the author of this article in this newspaper knew more about fighter nutrition than me about a little bit of a pride issue. Well, I remember I called him up, and I said, well, you know, what do you what are you supplementing with? When it comes to the phytonutrients?41:00: If I were to oversimplify, it seems that you know, can cs mannose as a sugar molecule, but it would be like me trying to take the biggest bite out of a too big of an apple that was too hard and I sink my teeth into it and I wasn't strong enough to bite through it. I got to work with a lot of really great kids, athletes, and other coaches. I still stay in the community a little bit but more on the strength and conditioning side.20:00: Coach Rob Eschbach, If we don't meet those athletes where they are, then it will be difficult for them. You can't walk into a competitive performance environment with goals of carrying laundry up steps. Now those goals just don't lie. So we're trying to align the client's goal with their programming.30:00: I say to this day, I've never slept so well in my life as I when I slept in Arizona, and it was not a nice hotel. It was just your brain was shot, I was so fried. I think we were in mid-conversation during a basketball game, I woke up the next day, I have no idea what happened. I know I fell asleep and I woke up. I just passed out just because my brain was so fried and full of knowledge from the last three days of coursework.40:00: I worked officiating and governing body type activities within the Mid-Atlantic Swimming and USA Swimming, as far as the structure of the organization goes. When I heard about the USAFF, USA Functional Fitness, it was something that I thought was cool. Their goals are in place to see Functional Fitness as an Olympic sport in 2028.50:00: If we're talking about functional fitness, we're talking about programming and methodology that is more natural. This is important when looking at what's next after your competitive career is over. We have talked about having a finite number of competitions left in my game. I know Matt the same thing. But this doesn't mean you stop, functional fitness is functional. It is health and wellness. That's the overarching goal of what we do. These kids want to know, they're gonna bust their butts and compete at the national level or international level for however long the duration of their career is. But this should be something when they're done competing that they can continue.01:01:50: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:Coach Matt Beckwith: I love working with people and seeing them grow. So that's why I'm here.Coach Rob Eschbach:I've always liked helping

They were the things to avoid at all costs, right? So, I went to Rutgers University actually grew up in Allentown, New Jersey.20:00: It's really a result of many things going on, but it's giving the brain an alternative fuel that allows the brain to function under these extreme environments. It also changes some of the neuropharmacologies of the brain in ways that we're just understanding now.30:00: My wife is Hungarian and she and I went over there. They're eating brains, kidneys, and liver. I mean this is what they have every night. So it's a little strange and it was about the same time I met my wife and actually started doing ketogenic research about the same time. So now she has gotten to incorporate a lot more organ meat into our diets. We grew up hunting, the liver was what we would give to the dogs. We would never think about eating the deer liver, we would just dress the deer when we got home and just keep the neat stuff.40:00: Kristi Storoschuk helps on so many projects, she's been like a godsend as our Head Writer. My student Andrew Koutnik is now Dr. Koutnik. He's type one diabetic and also does nutritional ketosis and gave a TEDx talk on nutritional ketosis. I have a link to that on ketonutrition.org54:00: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:I'm a scientist, I'm a data-driven person, and I do experiments in the lab. But the thing that I think is really the cornerstone of my health is really good relationships, you know, with my wife, with my friends with my family. It's really important to prioritize relationships in addition to learning and in addition to nutrition. I think that's the key.I think you ave to take a step back and look at what's important and really put that at the top, Then your passion for everything else will just come through. So I think for me, for my own health, mental health, and just health as a whole person, prioritizing those relationships is key. Action Steps:Support our 501c-3 non-profit and visit http://fuelfoundations.orgHelp us reach more people with 5 Star Reviews, visit iTunes and Submit a ReviewJoin our private Facebook community The FUEL Tank, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheFUELTank/ Watch us on YouTube:https://youtu.be/2gD3G-9ZqO0

I mean, it's like for sure. It's an endurance feat and all that, but it's not exploratory. It's not really a wilderness experience. Ep 311Situational Awareness for #FUELUP Friday

E

Today's FUELUP Friday Podcast is about the importance of Keeping Your Situational Awareness Up aka Alert! "Keep Your SA Up! – Quoted Scott W. Mulvaney Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:Staying alert and ready.Don't freak out and stay calm.Keep Your SA Up aka Keeping Your Situational Awareness Up.Timestamped Show Notes:00:30: Introduction04:00: Overviewing the highway incident of flying scrap trash that almost went through Scott's windshield this week. Establishing why it's so important to keep your Situational Awareness up and alert.11:40: Back to the point of Situational Awareness. The point of this episode is to help you align this topic into your Health, Business, and Lifestyle.14:00: Your situational awareness actually improves as you've made mistakes or as you succeed too. Hopefully, you pause long enough to be aware of these things and to assess what happened in that situation.16:30: Keeping your SA up is important when somebody decides to take a bottle to your head. Yeah, that happened to me. Not really that enjoyable. Plus, you know it took me down. I am six foot four inches and back then I was a good 200-205 lbs. So that's all it takes sometimes to take a bouncer of my size down by simply swinging a Rolling Rock glass bottle. You can't always plan on some dumbass and like two or three of his bros that are all hammered, you know, trying to surround you and distract you and then boom! I totally failed here back then on my situational awareness for sure!23:00: I want to tie all of these examples back to the base of the story here which is using situation awareness across our lives. I had this emphasized when I was firefighting, I got to learn the true purpose of "Keeping Your SA Up."28:00: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:If you're trying to reach me from January 20 to January 27, 2020, Good Luck, Ha! You can follow me on Instagram and Facebook because I'll probably be posting a lot of fun content while we're skiing in Vail, Colorado. That's right we're heading back to go hang with the in-laws at their house in Edwards, Colorado. Ep 310Rocket Your Dollar Investing with Henry Yoshida

E

Today we learn about Self-Investing and the Rocket Dollar platform with co-founder Henry Yoshida:Henry is CEO and Co-founder of Rocket Dollar, a web platform that lets people invest tax-advantaged retirement monies into private alternative investments. Henry was the founder of venture capital-backed Robo-advisor retirement plan platform Honest Dollar[acquired by Goldman Sachs], was the founder of MY Group LLC[acquired by Captrust], a $2.5 billion assets under management investment firm, and a Merrill Lynch Vice President.QUOTE: “The only person who never makes mistakes is the person who never does anything.” - Teddy (my brother's name too) RooseveltHenry has many retirement and financial industry accolades and certifications. Henry is a Certified Financial Planner and was a finalist for the ASPPA/NAPA 401(k) Leadership Award and was recognized as a finalist for Plansponsor Magazine’s Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year. Henry shares his industry expertise as a speaker at several industry conferences, as well as having been featured or quoted in the Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Bloomberg Businessweek, Inc. Magazine, and Financial Times. He is extremely passionate about FinTech innovation in wealth management and has brought multiple innovative products and methodologies to the market.Yoshida graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, has an MBA from Cornell University, and lives in Austin with his wife and two daughters.Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:Become Self-Directed.Gain Control over your investing. It's always better to be a giver. Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast:rocketdollar.comlinkedin.com/in/henryyoshidatwitter.com/henryyoshidatwitter.com/rocketdollarlinkedin.com/company/rocketdollar Timestamped Show Notes:00:30: Introduction10:00: I was reading in the Wall Street Journal this week that about $1 trillion of decision-making is being done by folks between eight to fifteen-years-old. Snapchat is around 90% of that audience right now. So they're really concentrating on ads and the Wall Street Journal article went into trying to communicate with these companies need to synthesize the ads to both maybe spend 75% of the time speaking to the younger generation, because they do have some influence over maybe us as parents, and they're in the buying behavior for our children.20:20: I always tell people you should understand where you live, the market around you, and especially if there are benefits, which you were hinting at. So let's pause on that. I never realized what my local community was about, it was about your local community and how there are tax benefits.30:00: I just saw that there is a new technology, it's a tech platform, getting funded as such because it's basically just a chain of bars. However, they serve non-alcoholic drinks ONLY. They're capitalizing on the fact that people don't really see each other as much as they used to. It's a hot, hot space. I'm kind of wondering when there's going to be more technologies that actually force us to go non-digital and force you to sort of communicate, touch, feel, and see people that's like playing sports, doing exercises and stuff like that.42:40: I used to do a lot more of the direct sort of financial planning and working with individuals. Now, I think to myself more of how can I make the product usable for a broader base because I'm not there to talk people through it. So it's a different way of thinking you know, running the business and when you run the business, you try to grow it the way that we're growing. It's different than if I were just trying to work individually and solve people's problems.50:00: If you don't have passion for it, then why am I putting my dollars into it? I don't know that I agree. I want to feel good about where I'm going with my financial angle.53:20: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:For me, it's probably, always be giving. So if I'm in a position, I'm not saying that I'm the one that has all the resources and by no means do I do it, if that's the case. I have a couple of things. Don't keep score and always be giving because you never know, it's always better to be a giver if you're in a position to do so. You don't need to worry about people following you. I think it's just sort of a human thing. So over the years, I've tried to help friends find new positions, meet new people, or whatever it may be. That's just sort of what I've always done. Action Steps:Support our 501c-3 non-profit and visit http://fuelfoundations.orgHelp us reach more people with 5 Star Reviews, visit iTunes and Submit a Review Join our private Facebook community The FUEL Tank, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheFUELTank/ Watch us on YouTube:Pending

Ep 309#FUELUP Friday Communication Skills

E

The Importance of Communication Skills, Verbal, Written, Electronic, and Otherwise:On today's new #FUELUP Friday I share a brief New Years Eve daytime phone call that inspired an important reminder on positive communications. We reflect on the importance of great verbal, written, and electronic communication skills to help you succeed in business and in life. We also drop a fun and random slang term for rude people, known as Douche Nozzle's, ha! Douche Nozzle = (vulgar, slang, derogatory) A rude, obnoxious, or contemptible person. Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:Treat others as you wish to be treated.Positive Verbal communication.Proof your written and electronic communication.BONUS: Don't forget to pause, take a deep breath. Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast:https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/douche_nozzlehttps://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=douche%20nozzle Timestamped Show Notes:00:30: Introduction05:00: I've always worked through the local onsite land manager where we do trail building. Mostly we just try and keep the trails clear, you know, keep people happy. I'm a huge mountain biker, and I have no problem putting in some sweat equity. There are not many people who do this and I want to know that when I get down there, I could ride my bike and not have to worry about running into a blown down tree or storm damage. I bought all the toys, I got the chainsaws, I got the tools, I got the gear, so why not help out?!10:00: Today's show is really about improving communication skills. So I decided that with #FUELUP Fridays, depending on where I'm at in my mental state. As you can tell, I might have been a little frustrated by that douche nozzle. I just don't respect people who don't respect me. You know, I truly believe in an age-old statement that you know you should do unto others, you know, and expect the same in return. Treat people like you want to be treated.15:00: Take a little risk and let other people in. But so many of us have this wall up preventing this. Over three and a half years now going on four years of podcasting, I can actually thank this platform for helping drop that off and break those barriers down. That's why I want to kind of share this for today's FUEL UP Friday.20:00: Now the book is coming. I tried to talk about too much because but I do it because I kicked myself in the ass and we are working on it later tonight. I gotta get the editing done.28:00: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:So our final words for today a summary of the importance of verbal communication, written communication, electronic communication. Ep 308When Food Is Your Frenemy with Jacob Bustos

E

Portion Your Plate and Your Food Frenemy on this Health Podcast:Jacob Bustos is a chef, cooking coach, and food enthusiast who has been in the food business for twenty-four plus years. Jacob is passionate about eating healthy and has set out to make a positive impact after his own battles with morbid obesity.Quote: Food, Faith, and Fun. – Jacob Bustos Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:Cooking and Portion Your PlateObesity and Gastric BypassFood Frenemy Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast:http://www.portionyourplate.com/partnerships.htmlhttps://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/when-food-is-your-frenemy-jacob-f-bustos/1129980142?ean=9781642793376https://blog.livligahome.com/2018/07/book-review-when-food-is-your-frenemy.htmlhttps://www.livligahome.com/bariatric-s/1918.htmTimestamped Show Notes:00:30: Introduction10:00: Chapter four is all about mindset. In fact, that's the title of the chapter, mindset matters. The mind is a powerful thing.20:30: Even the science behind eating breakfast, one of the things I had to really force myself to do is the first thing I did was I even put a refrigerator in my bedroom. It's stocked with my protein drinks, which only have one gram of sugar and 30 grams of protein.30:30: When I got home from the hospital after having gastric bypass, I literally started looking at what I could eat versus what I used to eat. I would put a plate next to another plate and I would put what my old portion used to look like. With my new portion I thought, wow, Portion Your Plate, that's kind of what I'm doing.40:50: You need to have dinner with Condoleezza Rice. Oh my god she is inspirational. I spent probably five minutes with her. She had to be alone for 12 minutes, believe it or not, but I spent about five minutes with her. She told me something that I will never forget and that was the confidence you exude. In a room, no matter who is in that room, you may not be the most important person in the room. But you better act like you're the most important person and don't ever let anybody treat you any less than that. She said, putting on the confidence that you need to walk into a room is like putting on a jacket, you got to put it on. When you walk into a room with people, you stare at them straight in the face and you shake their hand, and you don't ever act as if you're less than the most important in the room.50:00: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:If there's one thing that I can do or if there's one thing that I can say that will make somebody else's life any better Scott and if my book just inspires one person to get after it and lose some weight, I will feel like I've done my job. The reality is that you can see my before and after picture there before I had 160 pounds in my after. I want to be able to impact just one person and if I can impact just one person, the whole book was worth me writing it. I never ever had a plan or a dream to write a book. I feel like this message is so important in the United States especially because there are some people who are suffering from morbid obesity.Action Steps:Support our 501c-3 non-profit and visit http://fuelfoundations.orgHelp us reach more people with 5 Star Reviews, visit iTunes and Submit a Review Join our private Facebook community The FUEL Tank, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheFUELTank/

Ep 306A Good Nights Sleep Project

E

It's Time for A Good Nights Sleep with Richard Jacobs:Richard's newest venture, The Good Night's Sleep Project, features his patent-pending custom-tailored-pillow. The custom-tailored-pillow idea came from Richard interviewing over 110 sleep professionals, and dealing with his own sleep issues for the past 20+ years.www.goodnightssleepproject.comIn October 2016, Richard started The Future Tech Podcast and has now interviewed 1800+ companies in artificial intelligence, stem cells, 3D printing, gene editing, bitcoin, blockchain, the microbiome, quantum computing, virtual reality and space exploration and more.Richard also has 10 years of experience as CMO (chief marketing officer) of Speakeasy Marketing, Inc, a firm that has helped over 900 attorneys nationwide to improve their law practices.Jacobs & Whitehall, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has helped over 310 professionals – lawyers, doctors, veterinarians, chiropractors, and real estate agents author their own practice area book and become the ‘authority expert’ in their industry.Richard is also the author of 5 books including Secrets of Attorney Marketing Law School Dares Not Teach – 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions, the Ultimate Guide to Local Business Marketing (Ultimate Series) (co-author), and Bitcoin, Ethereum & Blockchain: Lessons Learned From 200+ Interviews of Blockchain Companies.Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways:EntrepreneurshipSleep HealthCustom-Tailored-PillowsToday’s Resource Links from the Podcast:www.goodnightssleepproject.comOur Mentioned Influencers:Dr. Mark Fitzpatrick DC testimonial at www.goodnightssleepproject.com/bed-time-storiesTimestamped Show Notes:00:30: Introduction09:30: I'm anti-drug, especially with sleep drugs. She's tried three different fancy pillows. I now have one of the fancy pillows. I have no idea what brand it is, but I love it. She moved on to one with water in it, I didn't that was a thing.20:00: That's pretty smart. How long did it take you guys? Did you actually outsource the app or because you were so techie, did you do it DIY in-house?30:00: I tried to get influencers, various people that we knew to get to send in their testimonials and everything, so again this is the marketing. If you don't have this stuff, it's harder to sell. So we've been working on this since day one and you know, they're starting to come in more and more and it's getting there. We got a couple of chiropractors, you want the best testimonials you can get like Dr. Mark Fitzpatrick DC.40:00: Blue Light Blocking to additionally aid in sleep health.42:13: Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:What I've learned about health is that if you don't feel good, you treat everyone around you badly, you're short with them and all of your relationships suffer. If you feel good, you're nicer to people, like your wife, your kids, people at work, etc. So if I can help people sleep better, and relieve their problems without doing surgery on them, without giving them medications, without any of this other stuff, and it's a natural way to do it, I'm happy. That's the goal of this goal, it's called The Good Night's Sleep Project because that's the goal. We got seven nights a week. Can I get you from two good nights to three or four or five or even seven? That's like the overarching goal here.Action Steps:• Support our 501c-3 non-profit and visit http://fuelfoundations.org• Help us reach more people with 5 Star Reviews, visit iTunes and Submit a Review• Join our private Facebook community The FUEL Tank, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheFUELTank/Watch us on YouTube:https://youtu.be/k-wplSAb1Ws

Ep 305The Weight Is Over

E

Author of The Weight is Over, Trent Mozingo DC joins us today!I grew up on a farm in Southeastern Indiana, where my family worked hard to make ends meet. We raised beef cattle, crop farmed corn and soybeans, and even raised a garden from which we canned vegetables to preserve them for the winter. Chickens frequently ran around the barn lot, and I can remember climbing around on the stacks of hay with my sister to search for chicken eggs to be gathered for breakfast. There were seldom dull moments on the farm with the raising of animals, and it seemed like every week some pigs would escape from their makeshift fenced lot and make their way into the front yard, where they would root up the lawn with their noses, looking for fresh grub. This would generally turn into an eventful morning because we would have to turn the acre of sod back over and try to fit each piece back to where it came from, like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle. Tending to the farm was a never-ending job that consisted of grinding feed for the animals, baling and stacking hay for days on end, and endless hours behind the wheel of a tractor tilling the soil for planting.Quote: “One of the biggest challenges that we face today regarding our health is the mixed emotions of who is responsible for it.” — Trent Mozingo Twitter: @MozingoDCI am the youngest of four children; in order of oldest to youngest—Travis, Troy, Tiffany, and Trent (that’s me). As you can probably imagine, our names would get mixed up quite often. Travis and Troy are nine and seven years, respectively, older than me, and my sister Tiffany, is two years older. Tiffany and I grew up thick as thieves. We were always bouncing around the farm looking for adventures, probably a little spoiled because our older brothers were taking care of most of the grunt work of farm life. Travis and Troy were like mentors to me. I always wanted to be just like them, so I would spend as much time analyzing their every move as I could. Still to this day, I feel like the little brother that’s trying to follow in their footsteps. Our parents allowed us a great deal of free-thinking growing up. We had strong principles such as “Work comes before play” and “Always help a neighbor in need.” These embraced our daily lives. It always seemed like farm life provided a lot more work than play, but looking back on the years of growing up, I can see how it’s how I got to this point of my life. There is no debate: hard work pays off. As I write this, I am nostalgic about the undeniable blessing that my life has received. Our parents were not hovering parents; they allowed and demanded us to take responsibility for our own actions. They also helped each of us build confidence within ourselves to take on the tasks that lay in front of us.There were times that making ends meet were more difficult than others, but there was never a time that money was wasted on paying to do things that we could do ourselves. Ours was a small farm; that meant our equipment was old and not under warranty. When the tractor broke down, we had to fix it. When the lawnmower blades became dull, we had to sharpen them ourselves. When we wanted a treehouse, we had to build it.The confidence that our parents instilled in us certainly started my brothers and me out on the right foot. I can remember, as a small child, lying on the dirt floor of our barn holding a wrench for Travis or Troy as they worked to put a new axle into the back of our combine harvester. That was so they could make it a four-wheel-drive machine instead of two-wheel. During the harvest season that year, it rained constantly, turning our fields into a muddy mess. Without four-wheel drive, our combine would have been unable to reap the crops; thousands of dollars would have been lost.We had no formal education on mechanics. We had no teacher to explain how to do mechanical things. John Deere mechanics were not there to help us. We were gifted the opportunity to figure out on our own how things worked, and we had no choice but to do it. This started for each of us at a young age. I was lucky to be able to piggyback on my brothers’ already unbridled ability to diagnose what was wrong with something by learning the principles of how it worked. I can assure you this: if you want to know how to fix things, you have to know how it works. You don’t know your full potential until you have no choice but to fulfill it. There were times that our wood splitter was inoperative and we needed wood to burn in the stove of our home to stay warm in the winter. We had to fix it. There were times that the corn planter was not applying the correct amount of seed. We had to fix it. There were times when a cow was struggling to birth the calf. We had to help. There were times that the hay baler would not tie the strings properly to secure the bale. We had to figure it out. As the years passed, it became apparent that the hands-on approach to learning how things work provided a strong database of

Target Funding Book Launch:Kedma Ough, MBA is one of today’s most respected authorities on business funding and entrepreneurship and is a nationally recognized business coach and Small Business Administration award-winning “Small Business Champion” that has coached more than 10,000 entrepreneurs through a wide range of business advising. In her best selling book Target Funding through McGraw Hill, Ough teaches the readers how to target grants, funds, and resources even if you have exhausted all avenues.Ough is a proud fifth-generation entrepreneur and her great-great-grandfather peddled various products throughout Ireland.Today’s Resource Links from the Podcast:www.targetfunding.comwww.automategrowsell.comTimestamped Show Notes: 00:30: Introduction07:37: My ROI to this day really has been strong. So a lot of my early work was through the centers, but I want to call a caveat here. It's still very stringent to go through the job application process. You can't just write show up. My business is still in place since 2001, exclusively representing people with disabilities.14:55: I love the home services industry so much because it's so recession-proof. Because if we think about the idea that, let's suppose we're in a recession and your toilet bowl goes out, something goes up, you're not going to say, you know, let's put off waiting for the plumber for six weeks, you know?18:00: I would say that your choice for having an education is just a tool in your toolbox. The question is what's your return on investment? I work with people today who tell me their MBA cost them $80,000. Okay, how long will it take for them to repay it? My total cost for my undergrad?23:00: I was forced into this horrible situation and I remember having to make the decision to file bankruptcy. I was sitting on a curb, right outside the bankruptcy court sobbing my eyes out. I was wrapping up my masters and I'm thinking, what do I do next? I remember going back to my apartment and over the next two weeks, it was a foggy thing. Here's what happened. I received an envelope from Capital One.25:30: Book editing was grueling. But you know once you make a journey to commit to a goal like a book, it is like giving birth without any kind of medicine and you just have to go for it.30:00: I called about three weeks ago after my book launch. It took me 30 years to call them, 30 years! There's more to that. If you read my journey, everybody has a story. I just grew up in a very difficult home environment. I was 18 going on 19, I was attending Community College, SUNY Farmingdale, and it was evening class, wintertime, and I got a 911 page from my therapist. Judy never pages me and I remember picking up my books running out of the classroom. Back then we had payphones.39:00: Here's the thing I want people to know. I want people to listen to this. If you listen to anything that I say, listen to this seriously. I want you to think about the lowest moments in your life and if you haven't had them, congratulations. For the rest of us, I want you to think about those moments. Then I want you to look in your mind's eye, and remember who was there. Those are the people that matter, not when you're wealthy, not when you've made it. The reason I dedicated my entire book to SUNY Farmingdale is that they believed in me before I believed in myself.50:50: Final WordsOur Final Words of the Show:Every action you have is premeditated because it had to happen at a thought level. Every thought, I mean, even if it's seconds, it's seconds in your thoughts. So if you want to change the view of your movie, just be mindful of your thoughts and who you're surrounding yourself with. I noticed that I do this and then you are the partner, or anyone you're talking to can say.18:45: I say this all the time. In a world of nuance, we're governed by binary systems. So it's either this or that. What happens is people are either seen as trolls or politically correct.30:20:  If you don't have the ability to choose courage over comfort, we're going to be in a tricky place where we're not saying what we mean. We don't want to offend someone.39:00: It happens on all ends of the spectrum. It's not when people bring that privilege, it's not to shame you at least I don't do it to shame anyone. It's more for the point that this is the reality for some people. It just happens.47:25: Final WordsOur Final Words of the Show:It's about getting to the point where everybody's growing together. Ep 302800 lb Gorilla Warfare for Businesses with Carl Utter

E

Who does the 800 lb Gorilla do business with?!: Answer - Whomever they want to!Carl Utter is the trainer-coach and creator of the 800 lb. Gorilla growth system. The 800 lb. Gorilla may have started out small but grew over time to become the pack leader. As the alpha the 800 lb. Gorilla will generate More Leads - Sell More Deals - and put more Money in the Bank.Imagine waking up. You check your financial dashboard. A smile comes across your face, as you realize you just had your best month ever in business- AGAIN. Your calendar is full of great prospecting who want to hire you. You find you're closing 50% or higher of all inquiries and you have 6 months’ worth of expensed banked in your profit account.Quote: If you're telling you aint selling...shut up, open your ears and really learn to listen deeply to not only what people are saying...but what they are not saying... If you're going to be in business... why not be the biggest, baldest, most feared provider of the services you offer. The 800 lb. gorilla training and coaching program have been turning out results just like this for the last 20 years. You don't need to struggle when you know how it's done.Top 3 Hot Point Takeaways: Sales Training and ExecutionTreat people like peopleGo for the Shock FactorToday’s Resource Links from the Podcast: www.carlswayworks.comTimestamped Show Notes: 00:30: Introduction10:00: There are three different exercises we do. Another one is we make them create a commercial. There's one where we make them do a public service announcement and a commercial another one we make them we have, we make them pick the pros and cons of a debate, you know, so just various needs. They're all integration exercises designed to tell you take that learning tool, a little deeper level. We always pick out the straightest, most uptight person to do the rap song.15:00: I want to see how they respond, a stimulus response. So I will use the shock factor and then I'll just sort of get kind of quiet and see who sees, and who's sort of gone inside. See where the smoke is starting to come out of the ears.21:30: Your reputation today is transparent, especially like Google reviews and Yelp. Things like Angie's List, if you get two to three bad reviews, aka your stars... with contractors, you can go online and you can see what everybody's experiences with that time.30:00: That's like sitting on a webinar, people who run these three to five hour webinars, well I've already tuned you out after 20 minutes. Sure, that may depend on the person's ability to acquire knowledge too.41:00: Many times that sales course is part of a much bigger entrepreneurial call to make sales and marketing. I\'ve got the annual fallen firefighters workout that we do in the F13 Performance, and more. All of this is now benefiting the foundation and then obviously the foundation will be able to give back as we see fit. I now even moved our Jordan Creek Singletrack projects under that because I\'ve been paying out of my pocket forever and I still will. However, we need a foundation to build support and positive charitable growth.10:30 I\'m not taking any profit. Let\'s be real here, one thing I\'ve learned in this self-publishing school mastermind group and learn from other authors, is that you\'re not going to become rich. It\'s just a passion project to give back.20:00 My wife calls me on my shit and loves to quote Joe Rogan.23:28 As we continue to grow and succeed, you will attract the haters along with the lovers. You have got to sort through the mess, keep rolling with it, keep punching through it, and keep taking that imperfect action.28:30 Final Words Our Final Words of the Show:You have got to figure out your day. I’ve been on countless charities, I’ve been on boards, I’ve done fundraising events, I’ve done countless charity bike rides. So clearly, I love charity work and I love giving back. I love volunteerism, but I can only do so much by myself. So that’s what inspired me to write the book but also to create the foundation.[20:00] I can’t outsource writing my book. I’m not going to outsource this voice on this microphone because I am your host and I am Living The Fuel. So I just need a little bit of time freedom. I need you guys to be patient with me, so thank you in advance. I know I’m not really asking permission because it is my show. However, please feel free to get back to me, email me, message me, I’m open for feedback. In the meantime, keep sharing the show. I want to see if the show actually grows over the next month without new shows coming out. I’ve never done this is kind of break aka retreat, so it will be interesting to see the results.[22:00] The firefighting world deserves them along with our fans of firefighters. So I want to make sure people can buy them. The proceeds are going to help get FUEL Foundations off the ground. More importantly, I have to get this done, the charity must get established.[26:00] Final Words Final Words:Again, feel free to reach out to me during the sabbatical, I’m not going anywhere. 299: Food Addiction & Personal Responsibility

Getting real about Food Addiction and the fact we need to take Personal Responsibility:Jennifer Alembik is a Food Addiction Coach and recovering food addict who has devoted her life to speaking, writing and coaching on this debilitating disease. Jenny’s intense passion to raise awareness and help others comes from her own personal struggle with food. She sought treatment at age 21 but sadly, it was ineffective. Finally, at the age of 45 yrs., she learned of her severe addiction to sugar and flour; the addictive culprits of her insane obsession and compulsion to eat. She currently resides in Florida with her three children; maintaining a 75lb weight loss and enjoying a full life, obsession free.QUOTE: What is a favorite quote to share with our audience? “There is a huge amount of freedom that comes to you when you take nothing personally.”― Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements Top 3 Hot Points:What is a food addict vs Food AddictionEmotional MaturityNutritional Impacts and Accountability Resources:JenniferAlembik.comJennifer’s Coaching on Facebook – facebook.com/jenniferalembikJennifer Alembik on Instagram – instagram.com/jenniferalembikJennifer Alembik on LinkedIn – linkedin.com/in/jennifer-alembik-552b48109/  Learn the difference between being a Food #Addict and a #FoodAddiction on this Health #Podcast You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! #JenniferAlembik Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[11:35] If you’re a food addict, you’re using food, there’s a difference between eating food and eating to live and using food to cope. So you have to learn different tools and techniques. So with that, when you are feeling major stress, which is life, you’ve got to learn how to calm yourself down. Learn how to not go to the food first.[20:00] This is what I’ve learned and from observing and listening and watching the people who are morbidly obese. 300, 400, 500, 600 pounds, like the My 600-lb Life tv show, I noticed one thing in common. People are not going to like me when I say this, but it’s what I believe. There is an emotional maturity level, their EQ, not their IQ, we’re talking about here. Some of them are very intelligent, however, we’re talking about EQ here, emotional maturity is what they lack.[30:00] I love that there’s a person who lives in my area and she’s big on educating the kids. I think that’s wonderful. But I think it’s futile. Because a child does not go food shopping, the child does not make their meals, you must as a parent, take that responsibility. I’m not knocking parents, I believe every mother wants the best for their child and they’re doing the best that they can. They really were just uneducated on these topics.[40:00] Final Words Final Words:You have got to be you. Everybody’s pain threshold is different but you’ve got to know when you hit it. When I was ready, I was done. There wasn’t enough. I had eaten every food more than 1000 times. I was so done because I just couldn’t take the pain anymore. The mental insanity and the physically uncomfortable feelings meant that I just was done.I was like, you know, I’m 45, I’m halfway through my life! I’m not willing to continue to live this way anymore. I have three young girls and I have to be their role model. You get one shot at life. 298: Brain Food, Better Brains, and Natural Stacks

Time to Build Better Brains, Natural Stacks, Brain Food, and more with Roy Krebs:Roy Krebs is the co-founder and CEO of NaturalStacks, an open-source supplement company that helps consumers improve mood, memory, and focus through targeted brain health products. Together with his team at NaturalStacks, Roy is on a mission to build a billion better brains!Roy is a lifelong athlete who started researching natural ways to improve brain health and performance after watching his grandfather suffer from cognitive decline. Uncomfortable with the “shotgun approach” of proprietary nootropic blends, and dissatisfied with the ineffectiveness of stand-alone herbal ingredients, Roy co-founded NaturalStacks to help people achieve the highest level of mental performance by providing natural solutions that work.Roy is passionate about transparency, especially with regards to ingredients and labeling, and he incorporates that transparency into Natural Stacks’ philosophy as a company and as an honest resource for health-focused consumers looking for optimized health and performance (both body and mind). Top 3 Hot Points:Brain HealthBrain FoodTransparent Supplement Ingredients Resources:Quiz from Natural Stacks: https://www.naturalstacks.com/pages/quiz-testwww.NaturalStacks.comwww.TryBrainFood.com@NaturalStacks on Twitter – https://twitter.com/naturalstacks@NaturalStacks on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/naturalstacks@NaturalStacks on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/NaturalStacks@NaturalStacks on YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/user/naturalstacksRoy Krebs on LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/roykrebs Brain Food FUEL, Brain Health, and more on LIVETHEFUEL! @NaturalStacks Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[10:00] You can do your own health checkup. But you got to get a battery of testing done. Luckily, there’s a lot of services now you get a blood test, a stool test, you can get everything tested. But then you’re looking at money and you’re looking at it really taking a while to just figure out the best way to interpret everything.[20:00] The Braverman Assessment, the same Dr. Braverman of Pathmed. His book in this mindset really kind of changed my life and changed how I view brain health. What he does is he’s just connecting mood mindset and anything brain-related. He’s connecting back to these four main neurotransmitters. So he has this assessment, the Braverman assessment, you can take it and it takes about 20 minutes to complete.[30:00] I kind of consider it like an entry into our brand, or an entry into thinking about brain health. A lot of people are skeptical of taking supplements in general. We noticed that and I wanted to fight against that. So we do make everything fully transparent. So we put all of our ingredient suppliers. We put it all out there, where every ingredient came from.[41:40] I’m gonna start with the basics for sure. Diet is something that most people don’t get. The keto thing is obviously hot right now. It does have real benefits. I don’t think it’s for everyone.[52:00] You have got to get your sleep. That’s kind of what the first thing is because if you don’t sleep enough, and you don’t get high-quality sleep, you’re a zombie the next day. Some people kind of get used to that and they’re walking around like zombies.[01:02:00] Final Words Final Words:This is something that stuck with me for a long time, from when I was traveling in South America in 2007. I spent a couple of months traveling around and I was in the backseat of a bus in Bolivia. This white guy, very kind of rough-looking guy, you can tell he’d been there for a while, he comes off the bus. I’m like, jeez, what is this? What’s this guy doing? I’m just like this tourist guy and he’s just in it. I hear him tell the story that he was going to buy it. He’s traveling like six hours to buy a new teapot. It really says something for the simple things in life. That got him going. He then went into this whole story on every problem comes with opportunities, and how he just got stuck down there for some reason. I didn’t ask questions, but he did make a huge opportunity of it. He now grows organic produce on his farm and he’s really loving his life down there. I took that with me, that and other people have said this statement that with every problem, there’s an opportunity. Influencers Mentioned:Braverman Test from Dr. Eric Braverman: https://www.bravermantest.com/Dr. Eric Braverman: http://www.pathmed.com/ Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU74JluerU0]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 297: Blind Fury Fitness Model, Trainer, Psychology, and Sociology

Lifestyle Podcast with Brittany Culp of Blind Fury Fitness:Brittany Culp is a personal trainer, bodybuilder, and internationally published model. She runs her own personal training business, Blind Fury Fitness. Blind Fury Fitness provides one on one personal training, as well as online training plans and meal plans. Brittany also has a masters degree in counseling psychology, in addition to a bachelors degree in psychology and sociology. She believes that mental health and physical fitness go hand-in-hand, and contribute to the overall wellness of an individual. As a child, Brittany was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, which has caused her to lose her sight with age. Brittany has not let her blindness hold her back from becoming the best version of herself, and she encourages her clients to do the same no matter the circumstance. Top 3 Hot Points:Psychiatrists, Anti-depressants, Talk TherapyBodybuilding Competitions, a Pro Card, and Fitness TrainerFind Your Why Listen in with Blind Fitness Trainer and Model, Brittany Culp of #BlindFuryFitness! @livethefuel Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[10:00] If your mind isn’t in it, you’re not going to get the results. With motivational interviewing, you have to do a lot with people that come in and kind of gauge where they’re at. Especially working out, it’s mental as much as it is physical.[20:00] In reference to Blind, RP, I can see maybe three to five feet in front of me on a good day. The other big characteristic of RP is what we call tunnel vision. So it’s like looking through a straw, you don’t have any peripheral vision, you can’t see on the side. I can’t see directly above me or underneath me.[30:35] I think the reason why psychological pharmaceutical drugs get a bad name is that general physicians are handing them out like candy. They don’t really understand what is good for what and for how long and the dosage.[41:00] I’m what you call a licensed professional counselor in turn. So you know how doctors when they pass boards, they become an intern, and then they become a resident. The same thing goes for mental health counselors, which I don’t think a lot of people understand. Not everyone can just be a legitimate licensed professional counselor.[52:00] When I have phone consultations, sometimes at the end, I disclose that I’m blind. Sometimes I’ll just let them show up to their first session, and then they find out. I’m never really hesitant about that. I know once you come in with that first training session with me, you’re fucking coming back, because I’m a damn good trainer![01:06:00] In bodybuilding and fitness modeling, nobody got there by being lazy. I’m taking some time off to really grow. I need to grow in certain parts of my body, mostly my legs. I’m a tall girl, I have giraffe legs.[01:10:00] I think the most I ever deadlifted as I was training for a show, for bodybuilding, was like 185 lbs. That was the most I ever deadlifted. Now for my first day, the other week, I did three sets of three reps at 250 lbs.[01:29:00] Final Words Final Words:“Find Your Why”It’s three words, find your why I think for anything in life. This goes for whether it’s your fitness, your career, friendships that you’re maintaining or if you’re thinking about cutting off a relationship. This also goes for if you’re taking the leap of faith and starting a new business venture. Just anything in general, I think you should always find your why. That’s going to give you the answers that you’re looking for and help dictate your decisions moving forward. Influencers Mentioned:Maxwell Ivey aka The Blind Blogger: http://theblindblogger.netDave Steele, Stand By Me RP aka the Blind Poet: https://www.facebook.com/StandByMeRP Resources:Facebook www.facebook.com/BritCulpFacebook: www.facebook.com/blindfuryfitnessInstagram: www.instagram.com/culpbritReferenced Eye Exercises with Dr. Travis Zigler: https://livethefuel.com/145-eye-love-coffee-blue-light-travis-zigler/Strong Fitness Magazine: https://www.strongfitnessmag.com/motivation/im-an-athlete-who-just-happens-to-be-blind/ Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Erd3B3WnOtc] Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 296: Stop Hiding and Stop Lying for Fearless Wealth

Live with Fearless Wealth on today’s podcast with RC Peck:RC Peck, CFP sits at the intersection of money and human behavior. For over 20 years he’s helped people hear what their money is trying to tell them. His struggle with dyslexia, watching his parents’ life savings get embezzled, and his background in NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), taught him to question the obvious.Quote: Men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song in their head.” ~ ThoreauHe now uses his ability to see what others can’t see which brings clarity and insight to a world that is often described as confusing and overwhelming. His message is clear. Listen to your money. It’s trying to tell you how to get the life you want. Top 3 Hot Points:Stop Hiding/Stop LyingPerfection can crush youGet yourself to an image Stop Hiding and Stop Lying to yourself, find #Fearless #Wealth @FearlessWealth Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[10:05] Do not underestimate the system to protect itself. The system is the tallest buildings in your town.[19:47] I would say 98% of people should start and finish with just the index.[29:50] Your hero to your zero year. It’s really like that. I mean, you’re getting cortisol dumped on you your brain.[40:00] In the world of investing, we’re taught to look for words to describe 80 miles an hour.[50:00] We default to just in case run. That’s not a good behavior in the world of growing money.[01:02:00] Final Words Final Words:Get to an image, get to a picture, if you can’t get to a picture of it, you are not allowed to buy it. If you can’t go to Yahoo Finance or stock charts and pull up an image of it, that’s three years in length, you are not allowed to buy it, unless you’re worth over a billion dollars. There’s just no account black-box investing, you’re not allowed to go into a restaurant, you’re not allowed to buy a bamboo forest in Malaysia. You need to see a price chart by a third party company that shows you an image with the bus either going north out of town or heading south. You’re only allowed to buy buses that are already heading north. Stick with the concept that your brain wants an image. When you don’t give your brain an image, it will make one up. All things being equal, it is not going to allow you to die. So it assumes what you’re looking at is going to kill you and it’s going to act that way. That’s a bad way to go into growing money. Resources:Book: Fearless Wealth on AmazonFearlessWealth.comFacebook.com/FearlessWealthtwitter.com/fearlesswealthlinkedin.com/in/rcpeck Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCkhfH_lmLs]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. Movie founded by @vinnietortorich Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[10:00] People can break out of that mindset of one thing is causing my bad health. When you’re burning fat and you’re fat adapted. The fat is actually good for you and it gives you your fuel.[20:00] When I had a regular nine to five job, I was saving money more than I am now or I was just watching my spending more. I was basically single, so I would just get those TV dinners thinking, well, there’s only 12 points in each of these. So I would have three a day and thought it was pretty amazing still maintaining or losing weight. That’s one of the things we talked about in the documentary, it is the fact that weight loss does not always mean good health.[31:00] Movie’s and catering. It’s an unspoken rule, that even if your union, you just you have to be there for the crew. They can’t go out, they have to be in and set up all day long for the filming.[40:00] My favorite argument against the ketogenic diet that, yes, it works, but after you stop it, you gain the weight back. That’s why you don’t stop it.[50:00] The next time he saw me, he was at the Chicago show, and he came up to me. He said you look like you’ve lost weight since I saw you. I said, yeah. He asked what are you doing, what are you exactly eating? I said, meat, eggs, butter, coffee, water.[01:07:00] Final Words Final Words:If you bought this movie and watched it, Thank You. Especially if you bought it and supported the project on Indiegogo too. If we can share this with as many people as possible, they’re going to watch it and they’re going to say, “Oh, my God”, like one of my friends did last night, “Is this true?!”That’s what we want. We want people to watch it and say, I’ve never heard that before. Then they go and tell other people and then we can really make a change. Because in all honesty, like all documentaries, that’s what they are there for. To tell a story that people haven’t heard before, and it leads them to either changing their lives or helping to change other people’s lives. So I would just say continue to share it. If you don’t want to buy it, just rent it and watch it. Influencers Mentioned:Vinnie TortorichDr. Drew PinskyAdam Carolla Resources:PeterPardini.com@PeterPardini on Instagram@PeterPardiniDirector on FacebookFATDocumentary.comShort links for FAT:iTunes = bit.ly/fatdocitunesVimeo = bit.ly/fatdocvimeoMicrosoft = bit.ly/fatdocmicrosoft Amazon Video = bit.ly/fatdocprimevideo Amazon = bit.ly/fatdocamazon YouTube = bit.ly/fatdocmicrosoft Google Play = bit.ly/fatdocyoutube Vudu = bit.ly/fatdocgoogleplay IMDb = bit.ly/fatdocimdb Rotten Tomatoes = bit.ly/fatdocrotten Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05CzHUrOofc]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. Author of Making Money Simple, Peter Lazaroff turns Career Success into Financial Success:Peter is the Chief Investment Officer at Plancorp, which manages $4 billion in investments for clients. He is also the author of the new book Making Money Simple: The Complete Guide to Getting Your Financial House in Order and Keeping It That Way Forever. Peter has built a national reputation as an educator with a unique ability to simply complex issues, which explains why Investopedia named him to the Top 100 Most Influential Advisors. He regularly appears on national television and writes articles for the Wall Street Journal and Forbes.Quote: (1) “The rules are there are no rules” from Oscar WildeQuote: (2) “Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the mouth.” – Mike Tyson….When it comes strictly to investing they would be different. Top 3 Hot Points:What is a fiduciary promise? From Career to Financial Success.Financial Education for Freedom. Making #Money Simple and Your #Financial #Success with @PeterLazaroff Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[10:40] The ultimate efficiency enhancers you have to figure it out. But I’m with you. When I moved to Plancorp, about four and a half years ago, the biggest life-changing move I made was time-blocking. Nobody can touch my morning. My mornings are sacred. I put big blocks on my calendar. I said do not book meetings, and it allows me in, the best thing you can do is just try not to open an email.[20:00] I sit down and I write and I unload. I don’t always know what I’m going to write in advance. So I mentioned when I wrote 5000 words, I said, I wonder if I could turn this into a book. I just kept going and naturally, that part was really natural to me, because I write frequently now.[33:00] You can go get a lot of investment advice online for super cheap, the thing we do is we just make sure people don’t get killed on their taxes and get your tax projections. You do that through eliminating surprises in a simple tax projection as a business owner. You might find that you can accelerate income or expenses, or the salary you have. Stay below that net investment, income tax and all the planning work that goes into that. That’s a big reason to outsource that so you can focus on your business.[40:00] I come from parents of doctors, so maybe I’m biased. Generally, you go to a professional expert, you go to the attorney. Generally, if you go to someone, you should trust that the advice is not in anyone’s interest, but making your financial life better.[51:55] Final Words Final Words:I think a lot of people just want to make sure they’re doing the right thing. Money can seem complicated but it just doesn’t have to be. Life is very complicated and you’re trying to find ways to simplify it. Don’t let it be something that you put to the side because it seems complicated. There’s a lot of great resources out there, not just my own that are helping simplify it.The internet has done wonderful things, podcasts like this have done wonderful things in making these issues more approachable. So I really encourage you to try to, if there’s something you’ve been putting off, like your finances. That one thing you can probably think of, go ahead and just do that take care of it now because the benefit from it will compound over time. Influencers Mentioned:Roger Whitney, The Retirement Answer Man Podcast – rogerwhitney.comBook: Making Money Simple – https://amzn.to/2YK9MIM Resources:smartmoneyquiz.competerlazaroff.comTwitter: @PeterLazaroffInstagram: @PeterLazarofflinkedin.com/in/peterlazarofffacebook.com/Peters-Money-Tips-2633683283313176/ Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCeKwyBMkfc]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 293: Fitness Modeling and Functional Medicine with Rachel Scheer

Geeking out on health and mindset with Functional Medicine Nutritionist and Fitness Model, Rachel Scheer:Rachel Scheer is a functional medicine nutritionist with her own private practice in Dallas, TX. Rachel helps people with a wide range of nutritional needs to enhance their athletic performance, improve their physical and mental health, and make positive lifelong health changes. Rachel is also a fitness model and public speaker. Her goal is to inspire and motivate others to take control of their physical and mental health so they can achieve the life they desire.Quote: We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is then not an act but a habit. Top 3 Hot Points:Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 foodsBuild Your Healthy FoundationMindset Is So Important, Your worth it! Your Worth It! Mindset, Fitness Modeling, Functional Medicine Podcasting with @RachelEScheer @livethefuel Tweet This On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[11:00] It’s definitely a lifestyle approach. The way I like to describe it to a lot of my clients is kind of like a pyramid. We all remember the old food pyramid where the bottom was bread and carbs and towards the top was maybe candy, but there were very little fats in there very little protein sources.[20:00] Eating cholesterol does not raise your cholesterol. It goes back to the whole lifestyle picture. I eat whole eggs every single day for breakfast. I eat red meat, I eat a lot of foods that have cholesterol in it, but my cholesterol levels are very, very low. When we combine things like processed foods with processed sugars, and then lots of inflammatory fats like industrial seed oils, vegetable oils, all of those combined in one, those are really the enemies that we need to be aware of.[31:00] I already was doing nutrition coaching. I was raised more on an athletic side, so I was helping with weight loss, I was helping with building muscle athletic performance. So I was already doing that. I’ve always enjoyed working with people and helping other people. But there’s something just different about helping other people improve their quality of life. Going from where they are, I’m miserable, I can’t eat anything and to be able to like eat something without feeling miserable after it. That just feels awesome to be able to help people to that extent. So I love helping people get six-pack abs and all that if that’s what they want to do. But just to truly be able to improve people’s quality of life, that’s a whole other level for me.[42:00] A cow that’s fed grains is going to have much higher rates of omega-six fats compared to omega threes when a cow has been grass-fed. It’ll still have some omega sixes. It’s not going to have nearly the extent of a grain-fed cow. So omega sixes for people who don’t know, are pro-inflammatory fatty acids. Omega threes are anti-inflammatory. So we do need both in the body. But with typical Standard American Diet aka SAD Diet, we tend to get way more of the omega sixes that are pro-inflammatory. We are not getting enough of the omega threes that are anti-inflammatory. So we have a lot of people suffering from chronic inflammation and cholesterol issues. We are not saying that everybody needs to go outsource their cow. But they do need to pay attention, i.e. where’s your food coming from? Read the food labels, it blows my mind when people will just purchase “foods” and they did even look at what’s in the food that they’re eating.[52:00] I can hand someone over the perfect nutrition plan and be like, if you follow this, you will get great results, you’ll be fit, you’ll feel great. But there’s often a lot more barriers than that. A lot of it goes back to mindset and motivation. Lack of confidence contributes to why can’t we follow it, it’s not always that black and white. I actually end up doing a lot more mindset counseling as well to in addition to the nutrition side of things under my Functional Medicine practices.[54:55] Final Words Final Words:“You’re Worth It!”I would say kind of going back to a lot of the things we’ve talked about is just your health. Honestly, it is well if your health is the foundation for everything and not just the way you look. And it affects everything, it affects your business, it’s going to affect your relationships with your family, it’s going to affect your confidence. If you want to reach new levels of success, and you want to really be at the top of your game with your business with your life. You need to be looking at the Foundation, you need to be looking at our diet, or exercise or hydration levels. That’s going to transpose to all areas of your life. So I would encourage people to just start with the basics, looking at their lifestyle, and building that up and going from there. So building the self-discipline and also just knowing you are enough and knowing “you’re worth it” too because I think a lot of people struggle with self-doubt, low confidence, and building up like what Andy Frisella even talks

292: Go For No Inspired Rejection Mission

Embrace the adventures of rejection in business and in life:Leo Quinn is a (former cowardly) marketing consultant from Upstate NY who decided in the Summer of 2019 to overcome his fear and seek massive rejection, inspired by the book “Go For No”, co-authored by former podcast guest, Andrea Waltz. At the time of this recording, he’s heard NO 536 times on his way to A Summer of A Thousand NOs. You can see where he is today at AdventuresInRejection.comQuote: “I can achieve EVERY goal and reach EVERY dream by simply hearing NO more often.” – Andrea Waltz Top 3 Hot Points:Go For NoEmbracing Rejection for SuccessCarnivore Diet On This Episode You Will Hear:[00:30] Introduction[10:00] So that was my first No, and that was easy. No, I sort of knew the guy. After that. I approach I’ve got a marketing company as well, I can do a lot for companies, but I decided I wanted something quick and easy with a ton of prospects. Because I knew that I would have to make a lot of phone calls to talk to the right person.[23:00] I saw a thing on the internet yesterday, a guy had got a bunch of plastic pigeons. He taped this message to the plastic pigeon and mailed it. Just as the pigeon. No box, no bag, he just mailed the pigeon. So you know he got the appointment that he was looking for. So now I’m on the hunt for life-size plastic pigeons that I will attach mail to and then I will definitely follow up.[30:00] So encourage them to give you a no and I think so because all salespeople have wasted millions of hours on the maybe’s.[40:00] Most of the NO’s of these 539 have been on the phone. Okay, I’ve conquered my fear of the phone, I really need to get more in-person NO’s. I want to get back into the lumpy mail and then follow up.[50:00] Final Words Final Words:Don’t, don’t speak for someone. Let them give you the NO. As an example, I was listening to a podcast, the podcaster and his guests were talking about the sorry state of cold emails. How they hate it, they get a ton of it, and they can’t stand it. If I had heard that before I’d sent that guy a cold email, I probably would have said, hey, he’s not gonna have me on. But I was on his podcast as a result of a cold email. So don’t accept the NO, don’t give somebody a NO, let them give it to you, or give them the chance to give you the NO.The final thing I’ll leave with is all the research I’ve done. I’ve never found a story of someone who took on a legitimate rejection challenge and had a poor result. So take on the rejection challenge, whatever it is in your business 100 rejections, 1000, 10,000, do it, stick with it, and I bet you’re gonna have a positive result by the end. Influencers Mentioned:Andrea Waltz of goforno.comJay Abraham “Billion Dollar Man” – entrepreneur.com/article/280874facebook.com/groups/salestalk/Resources:AdventuresInRejection.comfacebook.com/groups/rejectionadventures/linkedin.com/in/leo-quinn-3088652/ Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mBsSbHVYwQ] Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. One of the first things I did is just affirm, I show up for my life. Actually giving yourself a little bit of credit is important. I think some of us who have done some of the self-focused, self-development work, maybe forget that we actually have put more focus on that. We forget to reward ourselves for that.[21:30] It’s a tool, mindset runs strongly throughout the book. I put the book on Amazon and I got a bunch of reviews back. As I was reading through the reviews, I learned more about what the book was about, or how it affected people. There was a common thread of how they felt like the author was holding my hand and leading me through the practices, and it was easily digestible.[33:00] This is free and you can call it like a preamp to the book, but it’s something that you can digest immediately. 12 practices, they are not all about food, a handful of them are and they’re fun. They’re out of the box and these are ways that you can get started ASAP.[41:30] You get to do this for the rest of your life. That’s the path that you want to go down and there are lots of GI digestive issues from that metformin. That’s the biggest complaint.[49:46] Final Words Final Words:Our thoughts and our beliefs invoke our actions. Our actions are what create results. So look at the results you have, look at the results you don’t have and then backtrack to your actions, what thoughts and what beliefs created those actions or left you stagnant? This is where all work, all practices begin. It’s right here and it’s not an intellectual concept. It’s a daily practice. We can think of it in terms of affirmations. Influencers Mentioned:Dr. Christiane Northrup – https://drnorthrup.com Resources:Book: Wave Goodbye to Type 2 Diabetes: 16 Holistic Lifestyle Practices to Prevent & Reverse Diabetes & Reclaim Joy, Vitality, & Plenty: http://drnickisteinberger.com/wavebookFree Checklist: Reverse High Blood Sugar & Type 2 Diabetes With 12 Simple Lifestyle Practices: http://drnickisteinberger.com/blastFacebook Group: Joy, Vitality, & Plenty: Holistic Transformation & Diabetes Prevention:  http://drnickisteinberger.com/communityDr. Nicki’s Book: https://drnickisteinberger.com/dr-nickis-book/Instagram Profile: http://instragram.com/drnickisteinbergerFacebook Page: http://facebook.com/drnickisteinbergerTwitter Profile: http://twitter.com/drnickiphd Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbZ08rRw-Rs]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. You\'ll get Rashed beyond belief or bleed in places just like runners have happened, where their nipples are bleeding just from their shirt rubbing.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] The government and these people are supposed to be watching after us and taking care of us. Like everything else, it\'s more about the money and all the bullshit. Ever since I had this little girl, as a baby and watching her grow up, I now get more involved with the worrying about the types of stuff that I\'m putting in her mouth.[spp-timestamp time=\"50:00\"] So much of it goes back to diet, that\'s what fuels us, it\'s what makes us what we are. This has been an awesome ride ever since I met you a number of years ago. I think it\'s been three to four years ago now. Ever since I went out and suffered in the woods and it was a little bit of comfort there too. While I was standing underneath that bridge, watching you pull up in the middle of the W101 and knowing that I just put you through that pain and suffering. Part of that was pretty exciting. But the one thing that all of this stuff has kind of done for me is open my eyes to just being more open to different things. You know, I never was into this type of stuff. I\'ve now read more books in the past four years than I probably read in the past 40.It\'s been a blast. You know, anybody watching in this stuff, check out this FATDOC, it was a great story. I told my wife as soon as I watched it and said something to her. I don\'t care if I gotta put my family in a car, go to Staten Island to visit with one of her family members, I\'ll put it on in my truck so nobody can get away from it. They\'re just gonna listen to it because it\'s amazing information that\'s out there now. Somebody can definitely get something from it. It\'s not stuff that I would have been following in the past and it\'s definitely things that I\'ve been opened up to more recently. Corporate Filming loves the customer experience and making people smile through memorable experiences. Trevor started his business at age 13 and has been in love with story and emotion ever since. He is passionate about being different, standing out and being memorable in business, marketing and sales.Quote: People don\'t remember what you did, they remember how you made them feel.He was converting VHS to DVDs, filming family weddings and became a soccer referee at age 13. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can’t do. CorporateFilming is obsessed with storytelling and how that drives business growth and prospects to convert to customers. Top 3 Hot Points:Be TruthfulBe TransparentFilming is Storytelling [spp-tweet tweet=\"Share truth and transparency by storytelling with filming! @trevorrappleye \"] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"10:30\"] People have this misconception of people don\'t go into business with the business. They go into business with the people behind the business. The engineers, the receptionist, the CEO, people work with people. This is something I\'ve learned through scaling, this is a hard part. Part of the reason why sales go away is that the buyer doesn\'t trust you.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] When I first started, we tried to be number one at everything. But it\'s literally impossible. Our goal now is to be number one, in one thing, and that is the corporate marketing realm. That is the storytelling authentic videos that no one else can do.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] I\'m happy that you brought that up. I think a lot of people that are starting out, they\'re afraid to be vulnerable or be like, hey, I\'m on vacation with my mom. I haven\'t seen her in a year. I\'m going to get that done in a month. Just be upfront.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] It\'s about every personalized experience. Every time we get a client and/or a really good lead, I spend the money to send them a custom mug. Because every morning when they wake up, they\'ll see Corporate Filming. Well, I don\'t need them right now. That\'s the key when most people say no, it\'s just a no now. It\'s not a no forever.[spp-timestamp time=\"50:00\"] What you just said was one of the techniques, listening. One of the psychological triggers is, you don\'t want them to remember the negative, you want to remember the positive. Think about the things you did together. Then don\'t ask for anything.[spp-timestamp time=\"01:08:00\"] Final Words Final Words:I would say the one thing I want to leave people with, honestly, is the power of story, the power of emotion. That level of discipline that\'s involved with that, showing up, doing the hard thing, putting in the work, etc. It\'s about not being afraid of the hard work and that repetitive nature of it was really critical to our technician role.[spp-timestamp time=\"42:00\"] Frankly, it all comes down to relationships. This is on the side of the owners, the entrepreneurs, the employers and the employees.[spp-timestamp time=\"50:40\"] I think it all comes down just getting massive value and to provide value first. I\'ve seen too many times when people say well, how many times is a follow up too much?[spp-timestamp time=\"01:03:13\"] Final Words Final Words:I\'d say just get started. Just do it and execute. Too often people say, oh, yeah, I\'m going to do that after they listen to this podcast. I don\'t know how many episodes they\'ve listened to. But if you\'re one of those guys or gals that have listened to all these episodes, and you\'re still kind of in the same rut, or same position you\'re in right now... Stop lying to yourself, I say don\'t lie, don\'t lack in execution, just do it! If you if you\'re like, oh, yeah man, I gotta set aside the time to do the system. You don\'t, the next time that you\'re actually doing a process, or doing a thing, just video document it. Give a fellow employee your cell phone and say, hey, record me saying this while I\'m training you, or hit record on the screen software. We\'re using screen recording software and you just record it. Just start executing and getting it done. Because unless you take that first step, it just won\'t happen. The biggest gap that I see with entrepreneurs is between knowing what they need to do and executing. So just do it, just execute. Influencers Mentioned:Joshua Latimer of Honor and Fire on Facebook - https://facebook.com/honorandfireConquer Your Service Business - https://agsconquer.com Resources:Automate Grow Sell - https://automategrowsell.comBrandon Vaughn on Facebook - https://facebook.com/aphelloBrandon Vaugh on LinkedIn - https://linkedin.com/in/brandonvaughnAutomateGrowSell on YouTube - https://youtube.com/channel/UCsXBxhukhivePlAq7PYLi_A Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZiS2PdHJCM]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 287: Best Damn Badass Shovels in the World, Kickstarter, and DMOS

Crowdfunding the new Delta Shovel with Badass Shovels, Susan Pieper of DMOS Collective:DMOS began as a passion project back home in Wyoming after watching my son break shovel after shovel trying to build kicker jumps in our backyard. Many years and countless hard lessons later, we’ve managed to get enough things right to have a serious impact on people, professions and industries that we respect the hell out of.So as we continue to grow and understand our own potential every day, we appreciate you taking the time to get to know us a little more also.Quote: \"No excuses. No worries. No regrets. No fear. Go all in.\"DMOS MISSIONWe are driven to bring manufacturing back to the United States, creating jobs, stable communities and a lighter footprint on our planet.DMOS VISIONWe elevate the art of digging through our innovative designs.DMOS VALUESIntelligent: We design up and never dumb down.Collaborative: We build products with and for our customers.Risk Takers: We take wise risks to drive innovation within our industry.Authentic: We are the antidote to digital vortex: tangible, real, and human.Integrity: We stand behind our work. For life. Guaranteed. Top 3 Promises:We promise to make the ordinary extraordinary. We only make what you can\'t break. If you don\'t love DMOS, we\'ll give you your money back. [spp-tweet tweet=\"Get your Delta Shovel and support the Kickstarter! You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @DMOSCollective \"] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"05:25\"] Do you just get tired of snapping shovels which I\'ve done for years?[spp-timestamp time=\"08:55\"] DMOS got started by building the perfect what we call the kicker tool. We got our start in snow really innovating from plastic snow shovels into purpose-built aircraft, aluminum, badass tools that were perfect for building a kicker and then your shovel the OG Alpha really was a foray into a broader market, which was people aren\'t don\'t just need a kicker tool, they need a driveway shovel, and then they need a truck shovel.[spp-timestamp time=\"10:15\"] You just have to prove upon yourself your own inventions before your competitors do and DMOS, so far, has no real competition in what we do well. Which is, we make the best hands down shovels that are purpose-built for I would say any vehicle-based work because of the telescoping into locking shaft.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] I was actually a navigator last year with a driver and DMOS was a sponsor of the Rebelle but the vehicle was not quite fully DMOS. So this year, we are fully DMOS, it\'s Team DMOS.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] Then I realized, wait a minute, she\'s redoing the old school military stuff. So that is why we really created the Delta Shovel tool.[spp-timestamp time=\"41:00\"] So my son went to the Free World Junior Freeride World Tour in Kappl, Austria. He\'s 17 now, so this is the senior year. I was super proud of him at the Beartooth Basin because I saw him really charge it at the beginning of the run, which is off the cornice, he backed up about 20 feet, and he charged it.[spp-timestamp time=\"56:00\"] Final Words Final Words:I think it is the single all-encompassing thought is. Do something that matters and do it well! Influencers Mentioned:Rebelle Rally Off-Road RaceCody Matechuk - https://www.codymatechuk.com/Travis Rice of Jackson, Wyoming - http://www.mtoutlaw.com/travis-rice/https://www.snowboarder.com/videos/travis-rice-caite-zeliff-win-crowns-jackson-holes-kings-queens-corbets/ Resources:Visit DMOS at DMOSCollective.comInstagram @DMOS_Collective https://www.instagram.com/dmos_collectiveTwitter @DMOSCollective https://twitter.com/DMOSCollectiveFacebook @DMOSCollective https://www.facebook.com/DMOSCollective/ Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1J4NpEp3pI]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 286: Anniversary Reflection Part 2 and Sports Psychology at F13 Performance

Part 2 follow up from our June Podcast on the Power and Impact of Anniversary Reflection: Megan has been working with many school sports teams on mindset preparation. Today we dig into the swimming team(s) and much more. She talks to our audience regularly, about many high-value topics such as health, fitness, mindset, and Sports Psychology. Specializing as a Sports Psychologist, Megan brings a wealth of mindset psychology and a whole lot more to our show. Listen in while we catch up with Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D.!Today’s shorter podcast is Part II of our theme from June, for July. We dig deeper into the understanding benefits to celebrate your anniversaries. We recorded both episodes back to back, live, at F13 Performance surrounded by the #SYRArmy. Top 3 Hot Points:Athletic AnniversariesCelebrate AnniversariesTrack Milestones [spp-tweet tweet=\"A Sports Psychology Tip is to Celebrate and Reflect on your Anniversaries. @DrMeganCannon \"] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"02:00\"] Five year anniversary of SYR CrossFit, now F13 Performance.[spp-timestamp time=\"04:00\"] Coming up on almost three years of the podcast as an anniversary reflection.[spp-timestamp time=\"05:00\"] I did a Facebook Live the other day to celebrate that my Fuel Foundations non-profit was approved.[spp-timestamp time=\"11:35\"] New anniversaries like Scott\'s collapsed lung and now his wedding.[spp-timestamp time=\"12:37\"] Fourth to the fifth anniversary of Dr. Megan working with the swim program of Emmaus High School.[spp-timestamp time=\"13:00\"] A reflection on Dr. Megan\'s third year in the Poconos for a Summer Camp Run.[spp-timestamp time=\"22:00\"] Fat-adapted training celebrations and reflection by Scott.[spp-timestamp time=\"28:00\"] Being aware of reminding ourselves to pause and celebrate these anniversaries and look back. Where was your training two years ago vs your awareness of that today? You might not call it an anniversary, but rather call it a reflection.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:57\"] Final Words Final Words:Final Thoughts are, give yourself a permission to pause and that\'s not just in looking back and goalsetting you know. Obviously, a really big part of what we\'ve been talking about is to also give yourself a chance to pause and just slow down. Recognize the influence of culture and our particular culture that pushes. Look at how much your self-worth linked to what you\'re doing in a day. It\'s okay to pause, it\'s okay to go to the beach, it\'s okay to take time to not only look back but to just give yourself time to rejuvenate, refresh, and slow down. This is so you can sustain being productive, or sustain your work, or sustain your level of whatever type of productivity longer. Influencers Mentioned:F13 Performance first13athletics.com Links and Resources:DrMeganCannon.comDr. Megan Cannon on FacebookDr. Megan Cannon on InstagramDr. Megan Cannon on TwitterDr. Megan Cannon on Linked-In Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vSdZsvXvj8] Last Appearances:281: Celebrate Athletic Anniversaries with Dr. Megan Cannon263: Endurance Psychology, Iron Cowboy, Mental Fortitude, and Free Solo261: Swimming Seasons and Pre-Competition Prep Psychology204: LIVE, Masculine vs Feminine Energy with Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D.229: Athlete Injury Recovery and Mindset197: LIVE from CoreLife, Ragnar, Transformation, Bone Broth with Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D.185: Reviewing Mindfulness with Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D.181: Reviewing Body Image, CrossFit, Murph, etc with Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D167: Sleep & Performance, Rest B4 Failure, CrossFit Open, Mind+Body+Spirit with Dr. Megan Cannon152: Anxiety, the Super Bowl, and CrossFit Adoration with Dr. Megan Cannon and Corley Heiserman124: Confidence is like Deodorant with Dr. Megan Cannon093: Seasonal Affective Disorder & the Spartan Race Mindset LIVE at Whole Foods Allentown067: Hobbies and Healthy Lifestyles with Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D.053: Emotional IQ and Intelligence with Dr. Megan Cannon050: A Healthy 50th Podcast with Mind of the Athlete042: Goals for 2017 & Return of Dr. Megan Cannon Ph.D021: Understanding our Mindset with Mind of the Athlete Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 285: UnFuck Your Business

A Business Podcast to show you how to UnFuck Your Business:Tomas Keenan is best known for his humble beginnings and lengthy career as a custom car audio installer. He is the epitome of a technician turned CEO. Tomas is the co-founder of Top Class Installations, an industry-leading GPS Tracking, and Dashboard Camera installation provider. He and his team are on a mission to complete 1 Million installs by 2025.After gaining massive success in running and operating his mobile installation company, Tomas decided to teach people from other industries how to create their own success by building their own service-based GPS installation businesses. Tomas’ transparent communication style has helped over 500 telematics industry colleagues succeed in business. His expertise and vast experience have put him on the pages of the top industry magazines time and time again. He has been featured in Mobile Electronics Magazine, CE Outlook, CEO Blog Nation, Fit Small Business, The Startup Growth, and several Blogs in addition to countless podcasts. He states the key to his success is making progress every day regardless of how small it may be.Quote: Take small steps forward daily, when you look back 3 years from now you\'ll have traveled far.Tomas was born and raised in New York. He’s a devoted husband and proud father of three amazing kids, including a pair of twins. Outside the office, Tomas enjoys bow hunting, playing with technology, sharing new experiences with his children, and stretching his comfort zone. He and his family live on Long Island. Top 3 Hot Points:Pending [spp-tweet tweet=\"You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @livethefuel \"] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"11:10\"] I was a senior in high school and I was never a good student. Just me and school just never got along. I didn\'t like that format for learning. I thought, whatever it is, let\'s just get this over with and so I can move on and start working. It\'s kinda how I felt about it.[spp-timestamp time=\"22:00\"] There are certain roles, certain jobs within the infrastructure of the economy, that you need to be extremely educated for.[spp-timestamp time=\"32:00\"] Most of these companies aren\'t using something as tied into the database network, they\'re only on the more advanced systems. So the most basic GPS system is going to literally just be a three wire connection to the vehicle, so that you get a hard wire, a battery connection, a chassis ground, and an ignition connection. So basically, the unit is going to know when a key is on and off.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] I\'ll give you some more of the story. So at 21 years of age I worked a couple years for a highend audio shop on the island, did some real fancy stuff. I was the cocky 21 year old who knew more than my boss. He wasn\'t allowing me to do the kind of work that I knew I could do. I quit with $300 cash in my pocket and I went and started my own business. I\'ve done that. So 21 years old, 300 bucks to my name, and I just made it happen.[spp-timestamp time=\"58:14\"] Final Words Final Words:There\'s a couple of key areas of life that you need to focus on every day, in order to be successful. I don\'t believe in necessarily a balanced lifestyle or work-life balance. When you\'re focusing on that book, other areas of your life are going to suffer because you\'re just so focused on that. But at the same point in time, you can\'t neglect those other areas for too long. That\'s one of the things that I did with my very first business. I neglected my health and I worked 90-100 hour weeks, on my feet all day long. I wound up getting tremendously overweight. I\'m six foot four, I\'m currently 275 pounds. At the close of that business, I was I think just under 300 pounds.I\'m thrilled for 275 but I\'m in the gym six days a week, doing my thing. What I\'m saying is you have to focus on yourself. I think you have to prioritize yourself before the business, as ass-backward as that may sound to some people. Resources:https://amzn.to/2xUge5i - UnFuck Your Business on Amazonhttps://tomaskeenan.comhttps://topclassinstallations.comhttps://www.facebook.com/tom.keenan.988https://www.facebook.com/tomaskeenan.tcihttps://www.linkedin.com/in/tomas-keenanhttps://clyxo.com/tkeenanhttps://www.instagram.com/tomas_keenan Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jC1gH6TQ8wY]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. 284: Power to QUIT Quickly, The Rock, Arnold, and Crunch Time Quitting

Succeed through the power of Quitting today, so let\'s Quit Quickly!:Dr. Stanley G. Robertson grew up in a project building on the south side of Chicago. He pleaded temporary insanity and joined the Marine Corps; then trained as a lawyer and earned a doctorate in business. Jack Canfield, the creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul, calls Dr. Stan the coolest person he knows; and predicts that Dr. Stan’s new book Quit will be a bestseller.Dr. Stan has come to be known as “the quit doctor” because of his relentless determination to heal the world of the stigma and shame associated with the concept of quitting. He is an author, coach, and speaker.A professional football player quit during halftime. A military commander quit his troops to be with his family. People who quit are often ridiculed and shamed because we are a hyper-performance-based society where “quit” is a dirty word. But without the ability to quit, it is impossible to achieve success. No one knows this better than Dr. Stan. He quit the Marine Corps and earned a law degree, and quit being a thief and earned a doctorate. There are countless situations of everyday individuals who struggle over the decision to quit because of the emotional stigma associated with the concept. But the notion that “winners never quit” is a myth. The truth is that winners quit all the time. Michael Jordan quit baseball and won a 3-peat; Thomas Jefferson quit Great Britain and started America; The Rock quit wrestling and became an action star; Arnold Schwarzenegger quit being an action star and became a governor.Dr. Stan has come to be known as “the quit doctor” because of his relentless determination to heal the world of the stigma and shame associated with the concept of quitting. He is an author, coach, and speaker. Top 4 Hot Points - Stan\'s Steps to Q.U.I.T.:Quit QuicklyUnderstand the Negative EmotionsInitiate New GoalsTransform Your Behavior [spp-tweet tweet=\"It\'s time to Quit quickly to succeed in Health, Business, and in Life with Dr. Stan Robertson! @livethefuel \"] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"10:00\"] She said I quit. Okay, so quitting is good. This is the point. Quitting is a good thing. Quitting frees you, it\'s how we\'re locked into the cycle. Why should you continue swimming? This is not a priority. This is not at the top of my list, so I\'m, pushing it down on the list.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] My point is that now if she finally gave up the relationship, she gave up the business. She was overweight. She had been fat-shamed and all this stuff, not just by her but in general, others. Then she lost all the weight after she left him for good, to rebuild herself.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] If you do a lot of things and you quit a lot of things, the more things you quit, the faster you\'re going to get to where you\'re trying to go. So people who are okay with quitting, people who are okay with making mistakes, they\'re going to get there a lot faster than the person who says I can\'t make this mistake.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] What are you going to do next? How do you get from point A to point B? There is a process that you go through, there are some steps that you should engage in. There are four steps to help you through this.[spp-timestamp time=\"50:00\"] Those guys recognize that if they are going to be successful, they need to know when to give up something and reposition themselves. Quit if you\'re doing it because you just don\'t like the thing and you don\'t enjoy it anymore. Quit, if you\'re doing it because you\'re not good at it. If you\'re doing it because life circumstances dictate that you do something different, then great, quit. These are all good reasons to give up things.[spp-timestamp time=\"01:02:30\"] Final Words Final Words:There\'s one thing and it relates to this concept of quitting and that is that one of the things that I encourage people to do is create for themselves a quick list. So a quick list is just something that you can commit to. It is for where things go that you can give up in your life that are no longer serving you. For example, you just decide that these don\'t work for me or you don\'t want to do it anymore, it\'s a dead end. If it\'s not giving you any good return for your investment, whatever the issue is, create this list and call it your quit list. Take that list to identify the areas in your life where you need to purge and then figure out what things you can give up to make yourself better so that you can get to your goals and your success a lot faster. Influencers Mentioned:Arnold SchwarzeneggerDwayne \"The Rock\" JohnsonJack CanfieldThe 5 Second Rule on AmazonStrengthsFinder 2.0 on Amazon Resources:Quit Book on Amazonthequitdoctor.comDr. Stanley Robertson on LinkedIn Watch On YouTube:[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gopwIqlNTs]Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. Health Podcast on Detoxification, Gut Health, Autism, Reiki, and Naturopathy:Gennette Huber is an ANMA board-certified naturopathic doctor with a specialized interest in autism, autoimmune, and degenerative illness. Her introduction to holistic health came following her own struggles with multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and Hashimoto\'s thyroiditis beginning in 2008 and her son\'s autism diagnosis in 2010. Naturopathy and reiki led them both to true healing and recovery, which in turn revealed her purpose in life to work as an educator to others in natural health and wellness. For holistic health consultations, she sees clients both in her Chesapeake, Virginia office as well as working remotely with people from around the world.Quote: This above all; to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. ~William ShakespeareHer reiki courses have also grown on an international level, where she specializes in teaching the energy work to parents and caregivers of those with autism as well as anyone looking to enhance their own spiritual growth. Top 3 Hot Points:Benefits of Anti-Inflammatory LifestylesBenefits of DetoxificationImpacts on the Autism Spectrum [spp-tweet tweet=\"Health Podcast talking #Detoxification, #Autism, #Gut #Health and #Naturopathy. It\'s coming up through the lymphatic so it\'s going to rise up to the top of the urine. If your kidneys are filtering as they should, you\'ll see that increase during a fast, like a floating fat layer.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:40\"] Children with autism, we found that they\'re highly environmentally sensitive. So they\'re like sponges. Think of how we\'re affected by the foods we eat, it\'s even more compounded in them. They\'re affected by what\'s in the air, things like EMF and much more.[spp-timestamp time=\"29:45\"] I do know more and more practitioners who are going the other route, without the insurance, and I get it. I think the average is 13 minutes that a physician will spend with their patient. They\'re now they\'re being incentivized to basically run a checklist.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] That was just my soul being like, okay, you\'re going to do this. Then you\'re going to go through this little journey. You\'re going to see what you did to yourself, and you\'re going to learn about it. I had plateaued and I was very dependent on all the supplements, then I learned about detoxification. I didn\'t know if some were even actually working.[spp-timestamp time=\"50:45\"] Bacterial testing is getting more common, you can ship your feces off. We\'ve done stool analysis on my children. Autism has really shown us how bad things can be. I feel like these kids are the extreme version of what happens when we have this genetically established and the environment isn\'t healthy.[spp-timestamp time=\"01:14:41\"] Final Words Final Words:It\'s being authentic, it\'s speaking the truth, why deviate from that? That\'s really something else that has come into my life, it is just to speak the truth. That\'s what I do every single day in this profession. I feel that is a huge portion of my health too, is the ability to speak the truth. Plus, put it out there and put my vulnerability out there. They have been mentoring women and speaking and writing about gender communication for more than 30 years. Andie and Al offer women unique, balanced, and highly practical advice they can use to prevent gender biases from slowing or derailing their careers.Andie and Al also present arresting information and compelling examples for male audiences to make them aware of and sensitive to the gender biases that hold women back—even in the most well-intentioned organizations. This power couple provides organizations—business and professional—with concrete, non- disruptive suggestions for workplace changes that will make women’s career opportunities more comparable to men’s.Authors of the popular book Breaking Through Bias: Communication Techniques for Women to Succeed at Work, \"Andie and Al\" are frequent keynote speakers, and conduct workshops for multinational organizations to better understand the world of gender bias. Top 3 Hot Points:Avoiding and overcoming gender bias.Eliminate discriminatory gender biases.Communication techniques for women to succeed. [spp-tweet tweet=\"How and why\'s a podcast for #Overcoming #Gender #Bias and #Workplace Breakthroughs. @AndieandAl \"] On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"11:50\"] You can be powerful, dressed any way you want to, you are perceived as powerful. It\'s important that you\'re comfortable in your own skin, but also in your own clothes. You got to find a way to both present yourself in the way you dress, the way you talk, and the way you gesture. All of those things are important for impression management.[spp-timestamp time=\"14:45\"] You want to get across a notion of, Don\'t think about me as a woman, think about me as me, this is who I am. This is the kind of talent that I bring to this situation, the ambition that I have the capacity, the power, the accomplishments. So whether you\'re a veterinarian, or a fighter pilot, or a, or a lawyer, or a or an Indian chief you want to be certain that people are viewing you and thinking about you as that, not just a woman.[spp-timestamp time=\"21:00\"] We refer to that is linear thinking for the guys, and all over the place for the women can be very effective.[spp-timestamp time=\"25:00\"] Part of that may also be the nature of the space that we\'re in. It is very unusual to find men who are willing to speak, write, and be active in this diverse gender area that is so dominated by women.[spp-timestamp time=\"31:00\"] So regarding gender bias in workplaces, the Goldilocks dilemma is a big issue. We\'ve got to change this manifesto about the Goldilocks dilemma to where we talk about what it is and the ways that it can be overcome.[spp-timestamp time=\"35:00\"] Let\'s just take our profession, if you\'re a beginning female associate in a law firm, the range of your behavior that\'s going to help you advance your career is far more limited than the range of behavior that a senior woman partner has available to her.[spp-timestamp time=\"43:00\"] Final Words Final Words:Al Part 1: I would like to leave behind that men need to get involved in this issue. Men have too long left it to women, they\'ve said that diversity is a women\'s issue. Inclusion is a women\'s issue, it\'s not, it\'s everybody\'s issue. One thing that I\'m trying to leave behind is the notion that men need to be more involved.Andie Part 2: I would suggest that for women and men, perfection is overrated. If we strive for just perfection, we are never going to get to see or experience half of the world that is out there. We will be holding ourselves back. Perfection is overrated. Having a sense of humor can help us go a very long way in dealing with the stereotypes and the biases that we confront. This goes for whether we\'re a man or a woman. Whether they\'re in the workplace or in society. Influencers Mentioned:Christine Lagarde MonetarySheryl SandbergUN Ambassador Samantha PowersHeather Havenwood The Sexy Boss Resources:Book - \"Breaki

No matter if you are trying to schedule things out, or if you are that more spontaneous side, look for those opportunities. Whether it\'s an annual event that happens each year, or whether it\'s an ebb and flow of your career cycle, or maybe it\'s mine used to be which was this like one specific time of being on vacation that it was always that mental check in with myself but either way having that check in to just celebrate give yourself the credit for what you have accomplished in that year, or two years, three years, whatever it might be, because America and our culture we\'re always going to have that push forward. So I think to have those moments, whether it\'s an anniversary, or you just choose an event that you kind of do annually, give yourself the opportunity to look back. To be able to say wow, this time last year, look at what I accomplished![spp-timestamp time=\"11:20\"] It can just be reflecting back on something. Doing that is really important. Often we go through the day to day to day, and you\'re checking boxes and doing the things that we don\'t realize how much we actually accomplish?[spp-timestamp time=\"14:30\"] I think in everybody\'s profession, there probably is something similar, not necessarily identical. That might be some natural breaking points of giving our selves the ability and permission to pause and look back.[spp-timestamp time=\"15:50\"] First of all, it\'s making that a priority. It has to be on your radar initially. Going in with an intention, six months from now, I\'m going to check in with myself on this or in a year from now.[spp-timestamp time=\"18:45\"] It\'s tough because there have been times that I have tried to pre-register for races to get the early bird discount. So broken.Anything that it is that you want to create for you, for your body, for your life, for your health, it is absolutely possible! However, you have got to have that dog eat determination and faith that you can heal, that you can move through this. A big part of that is going to be you\'re above all of it, it\'s going to be your belief that you can succeed at it. So just like he and I were talking about in entrepreneurship, you have to have that dogged determination you have to keep that focus in the faith and let go of the how we get so stuck on the how. You don\'t need to know that how you just need to know that come hell or high water, you are doing this damn it! This astronaut had done three different spacewalks and at one point I said, except for you sir, because failure for you would most definitely be the finale ou there. Now for the rest of us walking around on terra firma, unless you are attached to an oxygen tether, failure is the fulcrum. Failure is the place from which we grow, we learn and we discover more things about ourselves. MMA Fighter Turned Trainer, Coach, and Mindset Buff, Welcome Clifford Starks:I graduated in Kinesiology in 2005 and became a personal trainer. I also became a professional fighter in 2009-2017. It has always been more than just transforming the body though, the mind and spirit play key factors to one\'s success. Which I definitely learned through my journey as a fighter and a coach. I have been honored to be given the opportunity to work with many clients on their mind, body, and spirit. Helping other\'s live happier more fulfilled lives.Quote: The opportunities are in the obstacles. - Clifford StarksI realized just how important the mind was in the process of accomplishing any real success. I became extremely fascinated with psychology also had my personal life experience to pull from as well. I am always learning and growing. I love the saying if knowledge was all it took everyone would have 6 packs and be Millionaires. Knowledge is good to have, but applied knowledge is better, so I continue to take action. To grow as a person and a leader is the same as health, you never stop. Top 3 Hot Points:Lessons learned from MMA FightingTraining and Coaching othersYour Mindset and Your Story [spp-tweet tweet=\"Go all in on your story. Sometimes, you have difficult times, and all of those difficult times, all of those hard pressure moments, are all life lessons. It\'s all part of the story that you\'re going to be able to tell somebody at the end of the day. So make it your best one and make it a great one. Go all in on your story. Because no one else is going to have yours. Influencers Mentioned:Jim Rohn Quote: \"You Are The Average of the Five People You Spend the Most Time With.\" On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"10:00\"] In order to crush the bad, we have to look it directly in the face. With that being said, it is important to build a solid base and your solid base are the people you do hang around with. That\'s the reset button that will teach you to go right into your default. I can hang out with five people who are in crappy situations who are down. I feel so strong in my abilities, I think so strong in my belief in self, that I could bring them up.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] My first thing is I love them. I empathize and I love because the one thing I\'ve seen is people will fight for what they love. You know, I swear, everyone that\'s gone through a process, it\'s because someone they loved, they\'ve either disappointed or they didn\'t.[spp-timestamp time=\"32:00\"] I say the opportunities are in the obstacles. There are going to be obstacles in life, that\'s just the way it goes. There is no perfect road and you have to live on an imperfect road.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] It all starts with the internal. So it\'s not to say that you don\'t feel things, it\'s not to say that negative comments don\'t hurt. It is to say you get to choose how you\'re going to perceive it. You get to choose how you move forward.[spp-timestamp time=\"53:00\"] So when I coach people, I have a really high percentage of people who are successful. It really does start with love. It starts with that because when you love them, it gives them permission to love themselves. There are times when it\'s hard for people to love themselves because they\'re either shamed or they feel like they can\'t do it. They feel like failures and they don\'t love themselves enough.[spp-timestamp time=\"01:02:00\"] Final Words Action Steps:Submit an iTunes Review. They are also willing to listen to others viewpoints and doesn\'t take it personally. They\'re listening to find the best way. A leader thinks how can we make this happen? Not we can\'t do that. It\'s never been done before. That\'s not a leader, a leader is casting a vision and then talks about how can we move forward? How can we overcome barriers?[spp-timestamp time=\"21:00\"] There\'s a difference between having your organization having your way of doing things and your processes vs being this is the way that we do it. We\'ve got to make sure that we\'re satisfying the customer, the customer is one of the five constituents that every business has to satisfy.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] Hard work is making tough decisions. Hard work is defining how we will do certain things in the business, how we will handle customer issues. The hard work is defining here\'s our sales process.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] Here\'s how we\'re going to build trust and rapport. The hard work is here is how we\'re going to manage our financials, hard work is here is who we\'re going to hire, who we are not going to hire, and who\'s who we\'re going to fire. That\'s hard work.[spp-timestamp time=\"41:00\"] What is that abundance mindset? You know, it is all about abundance. It\'s not about the business, it\'s about the people inside it. So it\'s how we approach things, every business out there can create greater discipline and every business out there can create impact. Every business out there has great influence. That\'s the challenge of today, we need both leadership and management to get that abundance mentality.[spp-timestamp time=\"50:40\"] A big piece of the mission discipline is core values. We have to make sure that every person on our team is the right fit. The right fit means that we have the same values. We have to define what those values are. So we interact appropriately, we think appropriately. It doesn\'t make them a bad person. If they\'re no longer with us, it just means that we\'re not the right fit. I wrap myself around all the right people, I was just at John Dilgen\'s this past weekend I put a custom cap door in our buddy John Dilgens home. John is a young man in more pain than I could ever possibly understand. So to sit here and bitch about the fact that my knee hurts and I gotta walk a little bit weird, it just doesn\'t seem right to me.So I just try to keep my head in the right place and like you said before, just keep doing what I do. Just tweak it in the way that is necessary. I like to keep a good perspective on what you got. I think I had something similar before that so many people are so upset about some of the most trivial bullshit in their life and sit around just making it miserable for their spouses for their kids. They don\'t even have a grasp on what they truly have.I try to live by knowing what I got. I\'m an extremely happy man and share that gratitude all the time. I try to give back to as many people as I can because it\'s just the way I think it should be. He helps them transition in their personal and professional lives so people feel aligned in all areas of life. Philip believes who and what we do ‘off the ice’ has a huge impact on our results ‘on the ice’. His groundbreaking Team Deepening™ work with organizations gives teams a refreshing way to connect and build real and collective resilience. What separates Philip from a lot of coaches, speakers and gurus is originality. He brings new conversations to the table and spends an obscene amount of time thinking and challenging the status quo, instead of simply repackaging business & life hacking strategies. Philip McKernan is a philosopher, a modern day philosopher of the human experience. His pioneering philosophy around SoulSet™ equips and empowers people to uncover their gifts and impact the world. With a knack of getting into all sorts of scenarios – he’s caddied in golf for the President of Ireland, been chased and nearly killed by a bull elephant in Nigeria and made wine in Australia. He has traveled to 80 countries around the globe, built an orphanage in Peru, written 5 books despite being dyslexic and created his first documentary film called Give & Grow. The film explores how the gift of giving makes us feel more worthy and alive. It also explores the science behind the impact of giving on our emotional well being, our mental health, our physiology, and our businesses.Philip believes the path to a happy and fulfilling life is found through the meaning we derive in life through the WORK we do, our relationship to OTHERS and the most important relationship of all, the one with one’s SELF. Top 3 Hot Points:Embracing VulnerabilityFinding Strength in TruthTeam Deepening [spp-tweet tweet=\"Your Shit. There\'s a whole body of research called Self-Determination Theory. Details linked above.Let\'s say three people want to connect and they want three things they want to be competent at with what they do. They want to be authentic in their own lives and want to connect deeply with themselves and people around them. All while deepening and our methodology behind that delivers to the three. We believe that when you deliver authenticity and connection, your productivity increases automatically. So therefore, competency actually gets better. So we deliver two out of three with influence in the third as a byproduct to that. That\'s the mission we\'re on until I die. Influencers Mentioned:Cole Hatter of THRIVE Make Money Matter On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"11:00\"] The only way you can deepen the relationship on earth is by giving somebody a genuine says sense of vulnerability. Sharing something that perhaps they didn\'t know about you, sharing something that you didn\'t necessarily want to share with that person.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] Group events. You\'re not just one on one, you\'re surrounding yourself with your peers. Everybody\'s sharing their weaknesses or their opportunities together. There\'s a lot of energy coming out of that. The day it went out I was scared shitless about what the world would think. Live on Facebook, I opened the first copy of the book and my son was there. It was quite surreal. 271: Forefront Goals and Your Attention To Detail

Improve Your Attention to Detail, Set Goals in the Forefront, Discussing StrengthsFinder, and More:Chris Denny is a researcher, trainer, consultant, and business owner. When he is not running a business or spending time with his family, he is researching attention to detail or helping others become more detail-oriented.Chris delivers training workshops and seminars for companies and government organizations and conducts one on one coaching for high-value employees. Attention To Detail training is available via online courses.*Goals must be out on the forefront to target them. - Chris DennyThe seed of Attention To Detail Solutions started in 2010 when Chris had an employee who was technically strong and generally valuable, aside from his low attention to detail. After searching for a book or training and finding nothing that would help, Chris started to create something that could help. He had inadvertently found a passion and after 6 years of exhaustive research, hundreds of surveys, and dozens of interviews, Chris emerged with the Attention To Detail Training™ system.Since 2008, Chris has owned a marketing agency that is now largely operated by a small staff who allow him to focus mainly on consulting, training, and research. His training and speaking style is personal and interactive with a great deal of open discussion to ensure participants are fully engaged and getting maximum value for the time they spend in Attention To Detail Training™ workshops and seminars. Top 3 Hot Points:ContrastiveAnalyticalAdditive*Goals must be out on the forefront to target them. [spp-tweet tweet=\"Set Goals and Improve Your Attention To Detail with Chris Denny. Whether it\'s a place, a time, or an objective. The details are what take you there properly, efficiently, and successfully. I always like to make sure people understand that the two are not mutually exclusive in conversation or in reality correlation. You need one with the other in order to achieve it successfully. The big picture here is make sure you keep that in mind. However you do it, with whatever system you use, planners, whiteboards or whatever. Influencers Mentioned:StrengthsFinder now CliftonStrengths at GallupStrengthsCenter.com On This Episode You Will Hear:[spp-timestamp time=\"00:30\"] Introduction[spp-timestamp time=\"10:00\"] That\'s the point, that\'s where some of the stress comes from, people worrying about the same things.[spp-timestamp time=\"20:00\"] The other part of that is that it\'s very systemized. That\'s where contrast of attention to detail is why the big fast food chains can be run by 16 year olds. So you end up having these billion dollar organizations that are largely operated by kids.[spp-timestamp time=\"30:00\"] The whole theme behind StrengthsFinder is you could be spinning your wheels, trying to fix a weakness that you have, or you could channel most of your energy into the your natural strengths.[spp-timestamp time=\"40:00\"] Typically, the person who I hear from is one of three people. It\'s the talent development person, like the director of talent development. Second, it could be a VP level influencer.
