Ep 478Police Officers Daughter Started Blue Line Bears at 14, For Families of Fallen Law Enforcement Officers. Her Amazing Story.

Police Officers Daughter Started Blue Line Bears at 14, For Families of Fallen Law Enforcement Officers. Her Amazing Story. She has been harassed and threatened but her mission continues. Meet the incredible Megan O'Grady and hear her story. When 5 Dallas Police Officers were ambushed and murdered, and 9 were injured she got inspired to do something. Megan O'Grady is our guest. She is the daughter of a Police Officer and she was only 14 years old when those Police Officers were murdered. That is when she got the inspiration to start Blue Line Bears. Now a College Student, she has been harassed and threatened for her work with Blue Line Bears and for being a family member of a police officer. Blue Line Bears is a nonprofit organization with the goal of helping the children of fallen Law Enforcement officers cope with the devastating loss of a parent. Children of law enforcement officers grow up realizing that their parent’s life is at risk every day they go to work. Add to that the fact that there is much public ridicule of law enforcement officers, and deaths in the line of duty are sudden, shocking and violent. Blue Line Bears creates custom hand made teddy bear keepsakes and mails them the the families of the fallen. Blue Line Bears uses one of the patches from the department, and collar from one of their uniform shirts. The shirts are cut, sewn and stuffed into a teddy bear. Additionally, a personalized badge with the officer’s last name and badge number is sewn on the bear’s stomach while the officer’s Department patch is stitched onto the back of the bear. If the officer had stripes for rank or service, those also adorn the bear as well. Finally, each bear is given a St. Michael medal and blessed by a priest before being mailed to the family. All of this at no expense to the family. Through the use of donations and other contributions, Blue Line Bears purchases all materials, as well as cover the cost of shipping. Unfortunately, the Davis’s ranch now is being overrun by illegal aliens and drug runners. Peggy describes what life is like for her and her children and grandchildren who live on the ranch. “I spend days like a prisoner in my own home. Local ranchers like us in the rural areas of the four border-states have had our homes vandalized. Stock waters have been drained causing severe illness and death to livestock and wildlife...We are constantly vigilant and fear for the safety of ourselves and our friends and family. While numbers are down, the aliens who are crossing are extremely dangerous,” says Peggy. Ep 438Killing Police Officers In Baltimore

Killing Police Officers In Baltimore. Being a Cop in Baltimore, one of America’s Most Violent Cities. The Murder of Police Officer Adolfo, and our connections to the crime. His career in law enforcement and book about all those officers that lost their lives. Retired Baltimore Police Detective Gary McLhinney helps me put to rest things that have haunted me from 1985 during my career as a police officer in Baltimore. We discuss the murder of Baltimore Police Officer Vincent Adolfo, a crime that we both had connections to and I still carried deep regret over. Gary and I also discuss our law enforcement careers in Baltimore, which overlapped even though we never worked together. After retiring from the Baltimore Police Department, he was appointed the Chief of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, the agency that protected the Port of Baltimore, BWI Marshall Airport and the state's bridges, tunnels and toll roads in the tense years following the 911 terrorist attacks. Gary took the stories of the numerous police officers that were killed in the line of duty during his career and co-wrote the book "Bleeding Blue: Four Decades Policing the Violent City of Baltimore" with the legendary journalist and author Kevin Cowherd.
