Ep 86Saving Lives Through Organ Donation with Rachel G. Greenberg

Registering to be an organ donor is one of the most selfless acts of any human being, and those who have donated their organs have given an ultimate gift to humanity.In this episode, I am joined by Rachel G. Greenberg, founder of the grief support group Connections of Hope. Her husband, Glenn, passed on after a brain hemorrhage in the spring of 2013. As an organ donor, he helped 127 people on the waiting list for different types of organs. This inspired her to start a life-saving campaign encouraging more people to register as organ donors.Throughout this episode, Rachel shares her experience with grief and how starting a Twitter support group helped. When one loses a spouse they’ve been with for a long, they lose a piece of themselves. In such cases, the process of grieving involves finding who they are.In this episode, I am joined by Mike McEnaney, a loving dad of four children. His wife Maureen passed on in 2016, leaving him to raise their four young kids, between 14 and 11 years old. He is an avid skier and has been teaching skiing for 30 years. He loves the ocean and can be found swimming, paddleboarding, or surfing. Throughout this episode, Mike shares with us how the experience of losing his wife impacted him. Losing a child is a pain that no parent should ever have to go through. For anyone that has experienced this, sharing your story will not only help other parents but will also help you throughout the healing process. In this episode together, I am joined by Scott Huffaker. Scott is an entrepreneur, banker, investor, musician and author of Lost Arrows - Coping With the Death of a Child. After losing his son Dylan, Scott was motivated to share the story of his life and help other parents who are grieving the loss of a child.  He describes himself as “just an ordinary guy who has had some extraordinary experiences” and hopes Dylan’s story can help others.
