Zebediela Bricks company owner disappears with over R100 million in workers' pension money and outstanding salaries
Over 100 million Rand of pension money and outstanding salaries due to workers have allegedly vanished at Zebediela Bricks company, outside Lebowakgomo in Limpopo. This is according to workers, who have not received salaries for months. Five hundred current and former workers allege that the company owner disappeared with the money, after the company was liquidated in January this year. Organisation takes legal action against government on behalf of all patients affected by Cholera outbreak in parts of SA
The Active African Christians United Movement is taking legal action against government for all the people affected by cholera in Hammanskraal, this includes bereaved families.Over twenty people have died since the outbreak. Advocate Moafrika Wa Maila from Active Christians United Movement, earlier spoke to our repoter Molemo Waone Motheo about their class action law suit againt the government.

President Cyril Ramaphosa arrives visits Hamanskraal, north of Pretoria, on a fact finding mission
President Cyril Ramaphosa is visiting Hamanskraal following the cholera oubreak. He is accompanied by government officials including Minister of water and sanitation Senzo Mchunu, minister of Health Joe Phaahla and Premier of Gauteng Panyaza Lesufi. The outbreak of Cholera in the community of Hammanskraal has caused devastation and government is instituting mitigating measures to contain the spread of Cholera. President began by stopping over at the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment plant and will lead a delegation of government leaders to a community meeting in Hammanskraal. The Minister of Finance has determined that Eskom will not be granted a partial exemption from section 55(2)(b)(i) of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) requiring it to disclose irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure and material losses from criminal conduct in its annual financial statements. This is after government reversed the initial decision in April this year, that granted Eskom partial exemption following a public outcry. All government institutions are required by law to report irregular as well as fruitless and wasteful expenditure in their annual report and annual financial statements. SIU obtains so-called Eskom intelligence report allegedly implicating high-ranking ministers in corruption
The Special Investigating Unit has confirmed to parliament's Standing Committee on Public Accounts that the agency has obtained the more than 1000-page-long so-called intelligence report which allegedly implicates high-ranking politicians in alleged criminal cartels operating at Eskom. During his presentation earlier today, Head of the Special Investigating Unit , Advocate Lekgoa Mothibi told SCOPA that the unit is currently going through the report and would take the appropriate action in due course.

Mpumalanga police to exhume body of child allegedly killed and buried in shallow grave by mother and stepfather
Two suspects have been arrested in Msogwaba near Mbombela after a minor was allegedly raped by her step father. The victim's step father as well as her biological mother who reportedly assisted the perpetrator commit this crime were arrested in their home. Police were made aware of the incident after the victim escaped from her home for safety and disclosed her ordeal to a community member. The International Monetary Fund has raised the red flag on the country's economic growth prospects despite Stats SA's announcement of a marginal economic growth of 0.4 percent in the first quarter . Twelve University of Fort Hare students arrested for allegedly torching and damaging university property
Twelve University of Fort Hare students have been arrested for allegedly torching and damaging university property. The University launched an investigation after a sports centre was set alight last night at Alice campus. It is alleged that the incident was triggered by some of the students" dissatisfaction over what they said was a congested exam time table. Meanwhile, the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape has confirmed that mid-year exams scheduled for this afternoon will continue as planned despite the fire incident at one of its exam venues at Alice campus. University spokesperson JP Roodt tells our colleague Sidima Mfeku that student bodies were consulted ahead of the exams.

Free State High Court Judge, Phillip Loubster dismisses Dr Nandipha Magudumana application with costs
Dr Nandipha Magudumana has lost her bid to have the court declare her arrest in Tanzania illegal. Free State High Court Judge, Phillip Loubster dismissed the application with costs. In his judgement he stated that Magudumana was clearly aware of the charges she would face, during the handover process between the Tanzania government and South Africa, upon her arrival in the country. The judge has also made it clear that if Dr Nandipha Magudumana has a problem with the decison by Tanzanian officials to deport her , she must take it up with Tanzania and the Free State High Court has no jurisdiction to decide on such issues. No need for panic, Health Department says, amid concern over rise in flu cases
The National Department of Health is concerned about the rise of flu cases across the country since the beginning of May. The department was notified by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) of the increasing circulation of influenza around the country.Provinces such as Kwazulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and North West have seen an increase in case. Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, has welcomed the Free State High Court's judgement, dismissing Dr Nandipha Magudumana's urgent application with costs. Magudumana wanted the court to declare her arrest, in Tanzania, illegal. She is among the seven people arrested for aiding and abetting murder and rape convict, Thabo Bester, to escape from prison. Motsoaledi says Magudumana's release would have been an injustice.

A group of scholar transport drivers gathered outside the Mitcell's Plain Magistrate's Court, on the Cape Flats, have apologised for the tragic crash that resulted in the deaths of five primary schools children.The children were flung from a Bakkie in which they were being transported to school. All eyes on former ANC Secretary-General, Ace Magashule following guilty finding by party National Disciplinary Committee
All eyes will be on former ANC Secretary-General, Ace Magashule for the next couple of days following his guilty verdict by the party's National Disciplinary Committee. His successor, Fikile Mbalula announced on Wednesday that Magashule was found guilty of misconduct and faces possible expulsion. He has been given seven days to explains why the party should not do so. Magashule was charged of unilaterally suspending party president, Cyril Ramaphosa and subsequently refused to apologised to him and structures of the party.
