GLAM 'SUPER-MOM' Sherri Papini FAKES OWN KIDNAP AND TORTURE, WALKS FREE
Sherri Papini admits her 2016 kidnapping was a hoax, pleading guilty. The 39-year-old, sentenced to 18 months in prison, has been released into a residential management program. Her official release date is in October. The mom was reported missing and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint. Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini’s ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time. Federal prosecutors charged Papini with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. Papini accepted a plea deal, but didn't explain why she created an elaborate kidnapping hoax, although she apologized for her actions. Panini's story began to unravel when investigators found male DNA on her clothing that led them to her ex-boyfriend, whom she had been staying with while she pretended to be missing. He dropped her off along Interstate 5 when she said she wanted to go back home. Investigators said that the former boyfriend said that Papini had asked him to hit her but he refused. Instead, he agreed to hold a hockey stick for her to run into and pelted her with hockey pucks. He also said he branded her at her request. NEW BOOK LEADS TO PASTOR’S ARREST IN MURDER OF GIRL, 8, WALKING TO BIBLE CAMP
Eight-year-old Gretchen Harrington leaves home, walking to vacation bible school at a church just a half mile from her home. Usually, Gretchen is accompanied by her two sisters, but this day, she walks alone. The older girls stay home. It was just after 9 a.m. when Pastor Harold Harrington waved goodbye. Two hours passed before he found out Gretchen never made it to VBS. Hundreds of people took part in the search for the little girl. A police helicopter continuously flew overhead. Teams of searchers combed the hillside of the community. Friends and family hand out fliers with Gretchen’s picture on it. Some witnesses said they had seen Gretchen outside a car, talking to someone, but nothing came of the lead. Two months later, a jogger found the skeletonized human remains of a little girl. The Harringtons confirmed the clothing found with the body as Gretchen’s. It was only 20 minutes from her home. Gretchen’s manner of death is ruled a homicide. The girl's skull has been fractured by multiple vicious blows. An autopsy does not reveal sex assault, but police believe that was the motive. Now, years later, a new book leads to the capture of a murderer. DEATH PENALTY SOUGHT FOR PERV IN MEMPHIS-MOM-JOGGER MURDER
Tennessee prosecutors are seeking the death penalty Cleotha Abston, also known as Cleotha Henderson. He is charged with kidnapping and killing Memphis teacher Eliza Fletcher. Fletcher vanished while out on her morning run. Neighborhood video captured images of Fletcher being forced into an SUV. The kindergarten teacher's body was found days later near a vacant house less than a mile from the kidnapping site. Officers combing the area noticed footprints, tire tracks and “an odor of decay.” A pair of purple Lululemon running shorts matching what Fletcher was last seen wearing, was found in a nearby trash can. Abston, 39, is also charged with the rape of a woman in September 2021, but he was not arrested until after Fletcher’s killing because the state crime lab hadn’t gotten around to processing the sexual assault kit. Abston has pled not guilty. Has Serial Killer Dennis Rader Struck Again? Part 2
When Dennis Rader, the serial killer dubbed BTK, was arrested in 2005, lots of documentation was found by the Wichita police: documentation in the form of his own writings, journals, and an unpublished book manuscript. The manuscript is thought to be a description of the murders BTK viewed as “successful." There were Polaroids of Rader dressed like his victims and in the “state” in which their murders occurred… bound, partially buried, or hanging upside down. The Osage County Sheriff’s Office investigators have poured over Rader’s writings looking for links to local unsolved crimes, and the information inside led police to search the property where Rader and his family lived. During their search of the property, investigators found " trophies" from at least one woman. Investigators also found chains apparently used for bondage, along with C-clips. C-clips can shorten chains or be used to secure a person’s legs or feet. We know that a pantyhose ligature was found. Other items found have not been described publicly. Texas Judge Lets Convicted, Cold-Blooded Killer Walk Free to 'Get His Hair Styled at Barbershop'
The father and stepmom of a New York man killed during a vacation watched via Zoom as the man who confessed to the murder was released from jail to get a haircut. Gregory Moore, a father of four, and friends rented a home in Houston, an Airbnb. After a night of clubbing, the men returned to their Airbnb. As one of the men parked the car, Moore and a woman with the group walked to the door. They never made it inside. A man wearing a hoodie and carrying a flashlight rushed Moore. Moore was pistol-whipped and shot multiple times. He took strikes to the neck, torso, left leg and both arms. Moore was life-flighted to a hospital but did not survive. James Ray Lane, 33, confessed to the murder, but 351st Criminal District Court Judge Nata Cornelio allowed the defendant to remain free. When Lane was charged, Judge Cornelio lowered Lane's $250,000 bond to $100,000, and during that time Lane has had multiple curfew violations. Back before Judge Cornelio, Lane pleads guilty to murder, but the judge according to court documents allows Lane to remain free on bond until his sentencing, so he could get a haircut. Natalee Holloway's Suspected Killer in U.S. Court Pleads Not Guilty
Joran van der Sloot's appearance in an American federal courtroom was short. It took the convicted killer less than five minutes to enter a not-guilty plea on charges that he extorted money from Natalee Holliway's mother. The Dutch national was one of the last people to see the Alabama teen alive during her senior trip to Aruba in 2005, and many have theorized that van der Sloot raped and murdered her. During the Holloway investigation, van der Sloot told mother Beth Twitty that he would tell her where her daughter's body was for $250,000; $15,000 was wired to a Netherlands bank account and van der Sloot was given another $10,000 through an attorney. Van de Sloot offered a location but later admitted the information was “worthless.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hospital Bosses Won't Believe 'Nice' Nurse Lucy Letby is Prolific 'Baby Killer'
Lucy Letby prided herself on caring for infants. The neonatal nurse cared for the most vulnerable of patients: newborns. Then, the hospital noticed that more infants died in the span of a month than would typically die in a year. An investigation reveals that Letby had been the sole nurse working at the time of seven babies. The child deaths span over the course of a year with, again, seven babies dying, while six others survived. Letby made babies sick by injecting intravenous lines with air, some were poisoned, and others were force-fed milk. Letby preyed on twins and triplets.
