Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an reported victim of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, is back in the news. Giuffre, charged with breaching a family violence restraining order in Austrialia, has been in the hospital after a car crash.  Giuffre said in an Instagram post  that a car in she was traveling, slowed to make a turn when it was hit by speeding school bus.   Giuffre, now 38,  previously said that Jeffrey Epstein paid her to have sex with the Prince Andrew, Duke of York when she was 17. Easter Sunday is a holy day for Christians around the world. Its celebration brings hope to the nations through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.   Just a month before the start of his trial, Sean "Diddy" Combs faces a third indictment. The new document adds two counts: sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The additional charges focus on “Victim-2,” who prosecutors say Combs recruited, harbored, and transported for coerced commercial sex acts between 2021 and 2024. If convicted, the charges could result in more jail time. Combs pleads not guilty. His legal team argues the allegations are not new and involve the same accusers—former long-term girlfriends who, they say, had consensual sexual relationships with Combs. He insists the encounters prosecutors call “Freak Offs” were mutual decisions between romantic partners to invite others into their relationship. Combs claims the tapes prosecutors plan to introduce as evidence will show all parties as willing participants. Prosecutors say “Victim-1,” also known as Cassie Ventura, plans to testify under her real name. They have asked Judge Arun Subramanian to allow witnesses 2, 3, and 4 to remain anonymous. They argue that revealing their names could lead to significant embarrassment, anxiety, social stigma, and media harassment. A California mother is now charged with murder after driving drunk and killing her 4-year-old daughter. Juliette Acosta, 26, crashed her SUV into a canal. The sound of the crash was loud enough to alert nearby residents, including Acosta’s uncle and a neighbor. Her Subaru SUV landed partially submerged in the water. Acosta’s uncle jumped in, helped her out of the vehicle, but could not find 4-year-old Reagan. When officers arrived, Acosta was no longer at the scene. A deputy immediately entered the water to search the vehicle and found Reagan Herrin still buckled in her seat. With help from Acosta’s uncle, the deputy freed the girl and began CPR as an ambulance arrived. Deputies later found Acosta at a nearby home, reportedly taking a bath. She was arrested and initially charged with felony DUI. Her blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit. Acosta now faces charges of murder, drunk driving, and several related offenses. Karmelo Anthony's bond hearing allowed him to walk free after the judge lowered his bond from $1,000,000 to $250,000. This occurred after the family hired new counsel, Mike Howard, a Dallas criminal defense attorney. The defense used the hearing to discuss the character of the accused killer, Karmelo Anthony, highlighting his role as captain of both his high school football and track teams. Described as the oldest of three children, Anthony had never been arrested prior to the murder. His father testified that he worked at Foot Locker, as well as a second job at an H-E-B supermarket, before the stabbing. Prosecutors questioned Andrew Anthony, father of the accused, about why Karmelo Anthony's bond should be reduced, given that the family had already raised over $400,000 from a crowdfunding site. Anthony stated that he has no access to the donated funds and cannot afford to pay the million-dollar bond. Anthony's lawyers argued that the money is not intended for bail but should be used for his legal defense. As the defendant walks free, we learn that the family of Austin Metcalf is dealing with threats and swatting incidents. Metcalf's mother's home was targeted with a false report claiming someone had been shot in the mouth. She was not home when police arrived. Oscar Hernandez is out playing soccer at Whitsett fields when he meets Coach Mario Garcia-Aquino.  Garcia-Aquino approaches Oscar about joining the Huacane Club, telling the boy he’s impressed with his skills. When Garcia-Aquino offers him one on one lessons without charge, Oscar jumps at the chance!  On a Friday afternoon, Coach Garcia-Aquino gives his star student a call, inviting Oscar Hernandez to make some money doing a few odd jobs at his Lancaster home. The teen is immediately interested. Before the 13-year-old gets permission from family, he grabs the next train to Lancaster, a 2-hour trip. Oscar facetimes his brother Josue from the train, telling him Coach will drop him back at home tomorrow morning. Later that night, Josue tries to call Oscar again, but it’s not his little brother that answers, but Coach Garcia-Aquino. Coach tells Josue that Oscar can’t come to the phone because his hands are dirty. Josue tries to ask exactly what time he can expect Oscar home, but the coach waves him off, once again promising he’ll bring Oscar home at a reasonable time Saturday. Saturday morning comes and goes, and Oscar still isn’t home. The teen isn’t answering his phone either. It’s already dark when the Hernandez family finally gets Coach Garcia-Aquino on the phone. The coach says he dropped Oscar off that afternoon in North Hollywood, but strangely, he claims he can’t remember exactly where Oscar got out of the car. Luigi Mangione will be facing lethal injection if he is convicted in the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione has asked for a laptop to assist in his defense.  Mangione was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania, apprehended at a McDonald's, where an employee believed he resembled the man who shot Thompson and called the police. Police say the man had a gun with a suppressor and fake IDs — including one for New Jersey which reportedly was used at the hostel in New York, and a hand-written manifesto. Jessie Marie Peterson, 31, an attorney with Type 1 diabetes, was admitted to the hospital for a diabetes-related illness. Two days later, she called her mother around 2:30 p.m., asking to be picked up and taken home. When her mother arrived two hours later, hospital staff told her that Peterson had checked herself out against medical advice. Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, traveled to the Dominican Republic with five college friends on March 3, staying at the all-inclusive Riu República resort in Punta Cana. Days later, on March 6, she disappeared under mysterious circumstances. On the night of her disappearance, Konanki and her friends were dancing at a disco when parts of the resort experienced a 25-hour power outage. At some point, the group decided to take a moonlit walk on the beach. Surveillance footage captured Konanki walking toward the beach with five women and two men around 4:15 a.m. Approximately an hour later, five women and one man were seen leaving the beach, while Konanki remained behind with 24-year-old Joshua Riibe, a U.S. college student from Minnesota. The next morning, Konanki’s friends went on an excursion she had not signed up for and only realized she was missing later that afternoon. When they confronted Riibe, he claimed he had fallen asleep on the beach after passing out and assumed Konanki had left before him. By this time, she had been missing for over 12 hours. Dominican authorities launched an extensive search by land, air, and sea. They discovered her clothes near the beach but found no evidence of foul play. Riibe was questioned multiple times by investigators, including Dominican Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso. His passport was confiscated, and he was monitored by police as a key witness. Riibe stated that he and Konanki were swept into the ocean by a large wave but managed to return to shore. He last saw her in knee-deep water before vomiting and falling asleep on a lounge chair. Konanki’s parents, Subbarayudu and SreeDevi Konanki, have since requested that Dominican authorities declare their daughter legally deceased. In their letter to officials, they acknowledged Riibe’s account and expressed their belief that she likely drowned. Despite ongoing investigations, no evidence of foul play has been uncovered. Riibe has since returned to the United States after restrictions on his travel were lifted. The case remains open as Dominican authorities continue their investigation into Konanki’s disappearance. It has been eight years since the Buckner family has seen or heard from Shapammala Latrisha Buckner. She was 20 years old when she disappeared from the Houston apartment she shared with her boyfriend, shortly after a neighbor and a family member received concerning texts from her. They believe she was involved in an altercation just before she vanished, but police have released few details about the circumstances of her disappearance. After reports of a disturbance the night before, Shapammala’s landlord stopped by to check on her. When no one answered, the landlord found her door unlocked and called Shapammala’s emergency contact. Family members arrived and found all of her belongings—including her phone, purse, ID, and keys—still inside. It was highly unusual for her to go anywhere without those items. After several days with no sign of her or any communication, Shapammala was reported missing. She was last seen at home the evening of March 21. Late Tuesday night, a neighbor heard what sounded like an altercation next door. Knowing Shapammala should have been home alone, the neighbor texted to check on her. Shapammala responded that she wasn’t okay and needed help. When the neighbor asked if she should call police, Shapammala said yes—but authorities did not make contact with her that night. Shapammala’s aunt also received a call from her, claiming she was being attacked in her home. The aunt rushed to the apartment, but someone else answered the door and refused to let her inside, claiming Shapammala wasn’t there. Shapammala did not respond to any more texts or calls that night. Aaliyah Kyles rented her first apartment in January, securing a unit at The Boulevard in the Hickory Hills neighborhood of Memphis. The complex features smart locks on every unit, off-street parking, and regular patrols. Amenities include a gym, pool, basketball court, playground, and a spacious clubhouse. The location sits just minutes from Hickory Ridge Mall, the Memphis Coliseum, and Memphis International Airport. Around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, a resident at The Boulevard heard gunshots and saw a man dressed in all black running from a nearby apartment. She called 911 to report the shooting but could not provide details about the suspect. Memphis police responded and found the door to Aaliyah Kyles’ apartment wide open. Nothing inside appeared immediately out of place, but officers discovered a gruesome scene in the bathroom. Kyles was lying dead in the bathtub. She was naked and had multiple gunshot wounds. The contents prompt her to take her son straight to the police. It appears the teen is discussing a sexual encounter with a love interest—his married, 30-year-old teacher, Christina Formella. The student informs the police that Coach Formella began sending him flirty messages on the school’s chat system after she became his tutor in the fall of 2023. He explains that their conversations shifted to text after the teacher provided him with her phone number so they could play a game together. Records show numerous FaceTime calls between the two, with the victim stating that their relationship outside of school culminated in a rape in December. Formella denies raping the boy or having a romantic relationship with him, asserting that she is a “good person” and that “everybody” comes after her because of her looks. She admits to developing a close relationship with the student and claims that she “cares too much about him,” but simultaneously labels him a stalker. Sherri Papini  is back in court fighting for custody of her children.  She wants to be reunited with one child and increased visitation the another.   Her ex-husband, Keith, was granted full custody after Papini was charged with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of lying to the FBI.  Ultimately Papini  pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $300,000 Keith’s defense claims Sherri's actions, perpetuating the hoax that she had been kidnapped, put the children through "hell" and "they could not thrive under her "pathological personality." Sherri Papini admits her 2016 kidnapping was a hoax. The 39-year-old mom was reported missing on November 2,  and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint.  Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini  was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini’s ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time. For her 36th birthday, anesthesiologist Gerhardt Konig whisks his wife, engineer Arielle, away for a romantic getaway. Just after 1 a.m., aspiring lawyer Lauren Mullins drives home after a night of drinking in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As an MIT police officer and a man on a moped slow for a red light, Mullins fails to brake. She crashes into the moped, sending it flying into the back of the police car.   The moped driver, 73-year-old Daniel O'Neil, is rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Cambridge police find Mullins extremely intoxicated and belligerent. The Suffolk University law student is charged with operating under the influence, causing serious bodily injury and negligent operation of a vehicle.   Officers are unable to conduct a standardized field sobriety test due to Mullins' belligerent behavior, but they note her slurred speech and extreme unsteadiness. The 32-year-old has a history of alcohol-related arrests, with a record dating back to 2014. She has been arrested seven times in the past three years on charges ranging from disorderly conduct to aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.   O'Neil initially survives but later succumbs to his injuries. Mullins now faces a motor vehicle homicide charge. Dr. Hamid Mirshojae and his new wife have a six-month-old daughter. He also has three children from a previous marriage, which ended in an ugly divorce and legal battles that have continued for 15 years. Dr. Hamid Mirshojae and his first wife, Ahang Kelk Mirshojae, began divorce proceedings in 2009 when he applied for a restraining order to keep her away from their $6 million marital home. In the petition, he cited "physical violence," accusing Ahang of repeatedly punching him. Legal disputes have continued since. Ahang Mirshojae managed the office of the Woodland Hills Medical Clinic and remained an employee there until 2016, when Dr. Mirshojae reportedly caught her embezzling substantial sums from the clinic. Dr. Mirshojae continued his standard practice. An hour after closing Woodland Hills Medical Clinic and Urgent Care for the day, he was ambushed by a masked gunman near his SUV around 5:30 p.m. The LAPD arrived 42 minutes later to find the 61-year-old primary care and emergency physician with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say a single gunman fled on foot. The investigation led officers to his ex-wife. Rumors of a Luigi Mangione sex tapes underlines the  public fascination with the alleged murderer.  What about the facts in this case? Just hours after Luigi Mangione was taken into custody in Pennsylvania, he faced a murder charge. The second-degree murder charge joined charges of forgery, carrying firearms without a license, tampering with records or identification, possessing instruments of crime, and providing false identification to law enforcement authorities. The initial charges were local to Pennsylvania. However, the NYPD also charged Mangione with possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a forged instrument, and criminal possession of a weapon. Mangione will be extradited to New York, but that transfer likely will not happen for several days. Mangione was arrested while sitting in the back of an Altoona McDonald's. He was wearing a mask, eating breakfast, and looking at his laptop when an employee suspected he was the subject of a manhunt out of New York. Altoona police arrived, and Mangione began to shake when officers asked him to lower his mask and confirm if he had been in New York recently. A search of Mangione revealed a ghost gun, a silencer, and multiple fake IDs. Officers arrested the 26-year-old on several charges but not for the murder of Brian Thomas. Mangione faces charges of forgery, carrying a firearm without a license, tampering with records or identification, possession of instruments of crime, and providing false identification to law enforcement. On August 5, 2008, a beachgoer walking near the former Silver King Resort, west of Port Angeles, Washington, discovered a shoe containing a sock and what appeared to be human remains. Billie Jean Jackson is driving past the creek near 400 West Rankin Road and sees what she thinks might be a mannequin. The image was lifelike enough to make her turn around and check it out for sure. Getting a good look, Jackson realizes, it is not a mannequin and calls 911. On Sunday night, Jocelyn Nungaray's mother, Alexis reminds her not to stay up too late as Jocelyn is going to work with her mother in the morning.  Alexis tells Jocelyn goodnight at 10 pm and turns in for the night herself.  A little later when she is certain her mother is asleep, Jocelyn sneaks out of the house and goes to a local convenience store. It is around midnight when she calls her 13-year-old boyfriend, who says he hears Jocelyn talking to some adults before he hangs up the phone.  After talking to her boyfriend, Jocelyn is seen on camera at a local 7-Eleven convenience store.  In the pictures, Jocelyn Nungaray is seen with two other people, both adults.  It's possibly the same people with whom her boyfriend overheard Jocelyn talking. Around the same time Billie Jean Jackson is calling 911, Alexis Nungaray is preparing to wake up her 5-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter, Jocelyn Nungaray. Finding Jocelyn gone, Alexis reportedly pings her daughter’s cell phone location, which traces the phone to a creek near 400 West Rankin Road Alexis Nungaray arrives at the spot where her daughter Jocelyn's phone pings and sees police tape is up and police are canvassing the area. Alexis Nungaray tells police her daughter is missing, and she is there because this is where her phone last pinged. Officers take down information from Alexis, but it still takes an hour before she receives the call that a body has been found, and it is possibly Jocelyn. Now  Harris County District Attorney's Office is seeking the death penalty  for both men. After divorcing, Echo Lloyd moves 16 miles from her home to rural Edwards, Missouri. The property is remote. Kelsey Smith says her mother loves the quiet and begins planning renovations, cleaning up the landscaping, and deciding how to paint the house. Kelsey visits her mother’s home with Mother’s Day gifts. Echo’s car is not in the driveway. Kelsey leaves a purple potted plant and a card asking Echo to call when she gets the gifts. In the plethora of court documents filed in the last week, more of the prosecution’s case against Bryan Kohberger has been revealed. The state plans to enter a wide variety of evidence ranging from Kohberger’s educational records dating back to his time at Desales University, transactions made through Kohberger’s bank and Venmo, weather data from the night of the murders, and hours of surveillance footage. The defense desperate to have the evidence tossed.   The defense is filing to block the various pieces of evidence, claiming the state has delivered thousands of pages of documents and terabytes of video with no context of how it will be used against Kohberger in court. Anne Taylor is demanding the judge order prosecutors to explain how each item is relevant. Taylor says otherwise, it is ‘impossible’ for Kohberger to effectively confront this evidence.  In arguments against its inclusion, the defense reveals that prosecutors plan to enter into evidence records from Kohberger’s graduate studies in psychology at DeSales University. The filing says they have received discovery including Kohberger's school calendar, written course work, testing, emails, and syllabi from his time as a master’s student, and the attorneys fail to see its relevance. As part of his thesis, Kohberger worked with professors to develop a survey exploring how emotions influence a criminal’s decision making during the commission of a violent crime.   Kohberger also wants weather data from the night of the murders to be kept from the jury. The state plans to use records from the National Weather Service for November 12 and 13 to show Kohberger wouldn’t have had much luck “stargazing,” as his vague alibi claims. The reports, taken at the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport, located roughly halfway between the two college towns, show fog, reduced visibility and low clouds at the time of the murders. Meteorologists say the fog was not thick enough to impede travel, but the night sky would only be clearly visible between breaks in the clouds.   A recent court filing also shows that defense attorneys want Venmo, PayPal, and bank records for the accused quadruple killer blocked from court. While the exact contents of these records are not discussed, the filing mentions a purchase from Under Armor on June 24, 2022, 5 months before the murders, and a purchase from Dick's sporting goods in the same month.
