It May Not Be Easy, But God Will Grow You Through It!

Open Forum: Pastor Amos led a discussion on his teaching style, emphasizing the importance of learning and sharing, while Jamie corrected a Bible misinterpretation from the last Open Forum. The conversation shifted to balancing business and family life, with Monique sharing her struggles as a single mom entrepreneur and Anna reflecting on limiting business activities to specific times during the day. Pastor Amos emphasized contextual Bible reading, particularly regarding women's roles in the church and the Sabbath's purpose as a day of rest. Stephanie opened up about job struggles, feeling drained and unsupported, while the group encouraged her to trust God and maintain her spiritual foundation. The meeting concluded with Pastor Amos praying for strength, anointing, and the fulfillment of their aspirations for 2025. Why Lot had no influence in Sodom and Gomorrah

Daily Study: As entrepreneurs who believe in Jesus Christ, we are not going to work only with Christians. This applies whether you own a business or work for someone else. Most of us will find ourselves working in or around sinful organizations. However, while you are there, you will either influence the culture or conform to it. In today's study, we examine this issue using Lot's time in Sodom and Gomorrah as a case study. Is there a requirement for believers to tithe?

Daily Study: A question I get a lot is "Are believers required to tithe?" It is a simple question, but this question has caused church splits and furious debates. Some say yes and others say no. In today's study, we will walk through the scriptures together with the goal of answering this question. At the end of this message, I will share which side I come down on regarding the question of whether there is a requirement for believers to tithe. Is Business Biblical?

Daily Study: In many action movies, the villain is the CEO of some large company that's trying to take over the world or do harm to make more profits. This is the case because society has bought into the myth that business is bad, so business is vilified. Even many in the church see pursuing business ventures as ungodly. However, what does the Bible say about business? In today's study, we are examining the scriptures to determine if doing business is Biblical. Giving from a New Testament Perspective

Sunday Service: Confusion about giving arises from mixing Old and New Covenant principles. In the Old Covenant, giving was mandatory, with specific rules and a quid pro quo system—blessings followed giving. In the New Covenant, we are blessed through Christ, and giving is an act of love, not obligation. Both covenants distinguish between supporting ministers and helping those in need. Giving under the New Covenant activates the law of seedtime and harvest, where God increases what we have to meet our needs and enable further generosity. In the early church, giving was direct—ministers were supported by those they served, and the church did not act as a financial middleman to those in need. Today's focus on giving to "the church" creates confusion, which could be reduced by returning to the early church model. Upcoming Events and Messages

Ministry Updates Today, Saturday Feb 8, 2025, I'm speaking a Singles Valentine's event for one of our CFE members. They're hosting the event here in Atlanta, so my wife and I will be ministering on relationships to the singles. Tomorrow, for Sunday service, I'll be ministering on biblical giving from a New Testament perspective. There's a lot of misunderstanding about what giving looks like and what it means to honor God with your money. I feel led to bring some clarification on this topic from a New Testament standpoint. Next Saturday, Feb 15, 2025, is our first gathering in Atlanta. This gathering is not just for CFE members in Atlanta but for our entire CFE family. It marks the start of our monthly gatherings, which will take place every third Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. If you live in Atlanta, I look forward to seeing you next Saturday. If you don't live in Atlanta, I would love to see you at one of these gatherings whenever your schedule permits. I see this as a time of worship, Word, and fellowship—an opportunity for the CFE family to connect more frequently. For those who can make it, I look forward to seeing you on the third Saturday of the month. Should we speak against ministers we believe are false?

Daily Study: We are at a point in history where the voices of many different ministers of the gospel can be heard all over the world through the Internet. With this great proliferation of voices, you are bound to hear minsters say something that you perceive to be false doctrine or just straight up lies. When this occurs, many believers are tempted to speak out against these ministers on social media, blogs, YouTube, etc. But should we? In today's study we will examine if we should speak out against minsters we believe are false. Vengeance is a seed we cannot afford to sow

Daily Study: When harm (intentionally or unintentionally) comes to us or those we love at the hands of another human, our flesh cries out for vengeance. However, vengeance is a seed we cannot afford to sow because the harvest of the vengeance seed is death. The only person who can handle the harvest of vengeance is God. Bookstores & Coffee Shops in Churches: Helpful Tools or Distractions? Plus, Other Thought-Provoking Topics

Open Forum: Pastor Amos led the discussion on church accountability and spiritual growth, beginning with a prayer and community announcements. He highlighted concerns about commercialization in churches, particularly the selling of items like coffee and the fundraising methods used for building and vision campaigns. While he was not entirely opposed to these practices, he cautioned that mega churches often risk shifting away from genuine spiritual growth and connectivity. The conversation also explored balancing church mission with material needs, referencing Judas Smith's shift from a traditional mega-church model to a community-focused approach. Participants debated whether bookstores and coffee shops in churches could serve as helpful tools or distractions from the church's core mission. Another key focus was leadership accountability and conflict resolution within the church. Pastor Amos and others discussed the need for high ethical standards among church leaders, especially regarding personal conduct and financial integrity. Tyesha shared concerns about inappropriate relationships within leadership, emphasizing the importance of background checks and accountability measures. Mary and Pastor Amos also raised concerns about the lack of oversight among some pastors, with Micah suggesting that every pastor should have a mentor or accountability partner. The group agreed that church leadership should prioritize transparency and teamwork to maintain trust and credibility within the congregation. The discussion also touched on personal spiritual growth, relationship boundaries, and overcoming faith-related challenges. Mary and Pastor Amos emphasized gratitude and heart posture in discussions about prosperity, while Ark spoke on the importance of discernment when handling conflicts. Participants reflected on personal experiences, such as Stephanie's journey of overcoming self-doubt at a recent conference and Jillian's decision to seek spiritual guidance regarding intimacy. The meeting concluded with prayers for group members and encouragement from Pastor Amos to remain steadfast in their spiritual and personal goals in 2025. How is the love of money the root of all evil?

Daily Study: Scripture teaches us that the love of money is the root of all evil. How can that be? How is racism, murder, fornication, child or spousal abuse, or any other evil things that we have seen caused by the love of money? We need both Bible and Spirit for guidance

Daily Study: God has given us two powerful tools to succeed in life and heed our calling. However, for these two tools to be effective, we have to use them actively together. Does God want you to give your last to the church?

Sunday Service: We are exploring the topic of giving to the church. Many believers have been taught that giving everything they have, including the money they need to live on, is pleasing to God and brings bigger blessings. However, this misrepresents God's true heart on giving due to a misunderstanding of the widow's mite story in the Bible. Discipleship Groups & Monthly Gatherings in Atlanta

Weekly Ministry Update This week, I want to share two important ministry updates. First, we had a discipleship group leader training last night. About 25 people joined us as we went through the scriptural foundation for starting CFE discipleship groups and the structure for these groups. The training went really well, and I'm excited to see the new discipleship groups that will emerge from these leaders. If you missed the training, a replay will be available. Simply listen to the replay, go through our discipleship manual, start Faith Leaders Ministry School, and you can start a group as soon as the next day. You don't need 10 hours or 10 weeks of training—just follow the Holy Spirit's leading and get started when He prompts you. We are here to support you, so be sure to watch the replay to understand the heart behind what we're doing. The second update is about the Atlanta gatherings, which will take place every third Saturday of the month. This has been on my heart for a long time, but I hesitated to move forward. After closing the Atlanta church last September, I wasn't sure if I wanted to commit to a regular monthly meeting. However, the Holy Spirit kept leading me back to it, and I now feel strongly that this is something I need to do. These gatherings are for both local and out-of-town members. Whether you live in Atlanta, Philadelphia, London, or anywhere else, think of it as 12 opportunities each year to visit Atlanta and connect with other CFE family members from around the world. If you plan to attend a particular month, let me know so I can prepare to welcome you. The first gathering will be on Saturday, February 15, from 10 AM to 1 PM Eastern Standard Time. These three-hour meetings will provide plenty of time for fellowship, studying the Word, and building relationships. Since we only meet once a month, it's a great opportunity to slow down, connect, and grow together. That's what's on my heart for this week's update. The discipleship group leader training was a success, and I look forward to seeing new groups launch worldwide. Also, the Atlanta gatherings are now in place, and we will be meeting at the Propel Center, the same location where we held the Clarity Experience. The pastor there has generously offered us the space for our meetings. If you feel led to partner with CFE, click here: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Your partnership helps sustain this ministry by covering the time and resources needed to operate. I am grateful for our current partners, and if this ministry has blessed you, I encourage you to pray about supporting it so we can continue to serve others. Partnership makes it possible for us to offer our services and content for free. The reason we can do this is because of the generosity of those who contribute financially. Partners are the driving force that enables Church for Entrepreneurs to fulfill its mission. Be blessed, and I'll talk to you soon.

Performance Christianity does not please God

Daily Study: Do you pray because you are supposed to? Do you go to church because you feel you have to? Do you tithe or give because you think you're robbing God if you don't? I know I've done these things and felt this way before. This is because I used to be a performance Christian, meaning I would do things out of obligation. If I didn't pray enough, give enough, or go to church enough, I felt condemned. However, after studying the Word and gaining insight from the Holy Spirit, I've learned that performance Christianity doesn't produce faith or bring me closer to God. Let's discover how the grace of God puts an end to performance and changes our motives from obligation to love. Calling is about purpose not provision

Sunday Service: God created us to pursue our calling, not to focus on meeting our own needs. Originally, God provided for us, freeing us to pursue our calling. After sin, mankind shifted to working for provision as a result of the curse. Jesus came to restore us to God's original design, where we focus on our calling while trusting God to provide. Provision instructions address our temporary needs, but our calling solves a specific problem for the benefit of others and makes a difference in people's lives and communities. Encouraging Monthly Discipleship Meetings

Hey, CFE family! In this week's ministry update, I want to focus on the importance of monthly discipleship meetings. I encourage every member of CFE to join a discipleship group that meets at least once a month in their local area. These groups don't have to be large—three to five people is enough. The goal is to gather with fellow believers in your community to study the Word and fellowship together. This practice reflects how the early church grew and matured spiritually. Their growth wasn't dependent on large Sunday services with thousands in attendance. Instead, they met regularly in small groups, studying the Word, praying, and building each other up through close fellowship. This year, I encourage all of us, myself included, to prioritize meeting with local believers at least once a month. These gatherings don't need to be complicated. They can take place in someone's home, at a coffee shop, or anywhere you can connect, open the Word, and fellowship together. To support this effort, I will host discipleship training on Friday for those interested in leading these groups. My goal is to provide leaders with the tools they need, including content and practical guidance, to facilitate meaningful discussions. I am passionate about this initiative because I believe close fellowship is vital for spiritual growth. Ministry is more than attending services—it's about fostering real, personal connections in your local community. While CFE is a global ministry with many digital offerings, God has placed it on my heart to emphasize that we are not just a digital ministry. We are a ministry with both digital and physical components, and one key physical component is gathering monthly for discipleship meetings. Most times you hear these topics in isolation, and depending on who you listen to, it can appear these topics contradict each other. The Bible teaches principles not blueprints

Daily Study: There is a misconception among some believers about the purpose of the Bible. They study it in hopes of finding God's specific plan for their lives but become disappointed when they can't find it. The reason is that God designed the Bible to teach us spiritual principles, not to provide an exact blueprint for our lives and calling. However, if we learn the principles, then, with help from the Holy Spirit, we can discover our own blueprint. We have to graduate from needing other Christians to agree with us

Daily Study: Since the early days of Christianity, believers have had disagreements over the meaning of various spiritual principles in the Word of God. Many of these early disagreements are actually documented in the New Testament. What is amazing about these disagreements is that God did not step in to correct everyone. Instead, He left it up to us to correctly discover spiritual truth from His Word. Therefore, when you listen to other believers and ministers interpret the Word of God, you are bound to hear contradictions and disagreements. When this happens, we must resist the urge to engage in fruitless arguments. In a real sense, to grow spiritually, we must graduate from needing other Christians to agree with us. Romans 13:8-10

Romans Series: Romans 13:8-10 emphasizes that love is the fulfillment of God's law. Believers are encouraged to owe nothing to anyone except the continuing debt to love one another, as love is an obligation that can never be fully repaid. Paul explains that the commandments, such as "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," and "Do not covet," are all summed up in the command to "Love your neighbor as yourself." Love is described as doing no harm to a neighbor, making it the ultimate expression of obedience to God's law and the guiding principle for moral conduct and relationships. A few basic principles to interpret dreams and visions

Daily Study: God speaks to us mainly through His written word. However, He is also in the business of giving us dreams and/or visions as part of our toolkit for direction for our entrepreneurial calling. A simple distinction I use between them is that dreams happen when you are asleep and visions happen when you are awake. In today's study I am providing a few basic principles to interpret dreams and visions. This is by no means a complete study on the topic, but it is a great starting point. The Word for 2025 is Believe

Holy Spirit: This year, I want the CFE community to focus on believing me for what they want. Believe for the success they desire in various areas of their lives and callings. Be bold in their believing and remain consistent throughout the year in their beliefs. Align their thoughts and actions with what they are believing me for. Some need to believe for continual growth from last year, while others need to believe for new success. This is a very personal year for CFE, with personal requests and results. Encourage them to seek me to determine what they should be believing for this year and to stand in faith that, through me and them working together, their beliefs will come to pass. The 2025 Cadence of CFE

Ministry Updates: I am outlining the 2025 cadence of CFE, which now follows a simplified daily, weekly, and monthly rhythm to guide you in your spiritual growth. The daily cadence includes studies and confessions, while the weekly cadence consists of Open Forum every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning services. The monthly cadence features gatherings in Atlanta that include a mix of full-day immersive experiences on major topics and shorter half-day gatherings for Bible study and fellowship, providing consistent connection opportunities for both local and worldwide members. The first gathering of the year, the Clarity Experience, will take place on January 18th. God's words in the Bible are seeds

Daily Study: God's words in the Bible are powerless if they are not planted and watered in your heart. For example, an apple seed is useless until it is planted in the ground and watered properly with rain, then it can produce an apple tree. In the same way, God's words are seeds that need to be planted and watered in the ground of your heart. Once planted and watered, the word-seed's harvest is faith. Why Bad Things are Happening to You

Daily Study: Is God punishing me? Have I done something to make God mad? Have I been disobedient to His Word? These are just a few questions we ask ourselves when bad things happen to us. However, these are actually the wrong questions to ask. In today's study, we examine why bad things happen to us, and how we can avoid them or stop many of them from happening in the first place.
