Jesus will appear and lift you above the shadows- Immerse yourself in the Bible until the day dawns. You can’t read without praying- You’ve got to grow out of the valley- When God speaks, nothing can stop His word- God is sovereign; He does what he wants to do and it is righteous- I’m in the hole but He is down here with me- When I’m down, I’m not staying down- Your biggest enemy can be how you feel
120429-1800-Loran Livingston - Pierced By Jesus
2012-04-29-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening April 29th 2012 in the 6:00 service.Scripture: Luke 19:1-10Topic: ChangeNotes:- Why a sycamore tree? Every word is important... Egyptian sycamore has a fruit that, at a certain stage, is pierced by a wasp and pollinated. The fruit then releases a fluid and becomes sweet and edible. Without the piercing the fruit is worthless.- The fruit represented what was about to happen to Zacheus: Jesus came and pierced his hard heart with the truth so out of his life could come a testimony of saving grace- We are all hard until Jesus pierces us- You feel that stinging and it feels like the life is running out of you...

2012-04-29-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning April 29th 2012 in the 10:30 service.Scripture: I Samuel 22:1-2; 30:1-6; Luke 10:17-21; 9:55-56; Isaiah 55:3Topic: SufferingNotes:- How does God treat people He really loves?- David finds himself hunted, living in a cave, joined by all who were in distress- You will be removed from comfort, from where you think you are serving God. All you think you’ve done for Him seems forgotten, but it’ll be God that does it to you- The things that excite us and those that excite God are miles apart- Don’t rejoice in your ability but in that He did it for you when you least deserved it- God put David in this situation not to teach him faith, but seasoned faith- God doesn’t use arrogant faith. Seasoned faith doesn’t have to stomp and yell and proclaim but is a quiet, determined confidence that what God promised He will do- Christian television and arrogant faith; youthful faith is independent faith- Any faith that is not seasoned is presumptuous faith- Jesus did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them- God let David go live with the enemy; He may let other go live with the enemy, but He doesn’t leave them there- We turn people out, write them off... let God be God- David was left with nobody but God; our strength must come from God. - Sure mercies (what He did for David, He’ll do for me)

The only thing that upset Him was religion getting in between people and God.- Jesus was broken and compassionate towards people living under the curse- I Christianity is not compassionate and broken about sin, we are not the church- If you’re angry at this world, you are not filled with Jesus- People are born in sin without a choice; it will be compassion to bring people to Jesus- People are weighed down with personal failure; God is good and ready to forgive- We talk about the good news, but all people hear is how bad they are- A holy God demands a holy life; if you could stop sinning you wouldn’t need a savior- God put our sins on Jesus that we may come to righteousness in Him- Still not what I ought to be; feel like I should be better... I don’t know who I am but I know who He is.- I’ll never get it right but my salvation is not contingent upon my strength and ability- Hope lies in the fact that He was God’s perfect gift and what He did was eternally sufficient; take your eyes off yourself and look at Jesus- Addiction... God still loves you and will help you.
