This past weekend, Penn State had eight players selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. So who went to a good situation? Who found themselves stuck in a bad one? Blue White Illustrated film analyst Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel discuss that on the BWI Daily Edition. They breakdown the entire draft weekend from former Nittany Lion Jahan Dotson going 16th overall to the four undrafted players signing with teams after the event's conclusion. They start the show with Pickel's observations about the trends of the NFL and the draft based on the changing landscape of the NFL. According to multiple reports, the Penn State athletic director search is coming to a close this week. Senior editor Nate Bauer joins the BWI Daily podcast to fill us in on that information Wednesday, April 27. He wrote two articles about the situation this week and fills host Thomas Frank Carr in on what has happened since he reported on Sunday that the Nittany Lions would be naming a new AD within the week. It was a successful Blue-White weekend for Penn State football, with around 80 prospects on hand to see the event. Recruiting insider Ryan Snyder and reporter Greg Pickel discuss what went down this weekend, their observations, and more on the BWI Daily Recruiting Show. They'll also share what they know about Penn State's latest commit in the Class of 2023, Conrad Hussey. On Saturday, Penn State football concluded its spring season with the 2022 Blue-White Game. Since then, film analyst Thomas Frank Carr has been reviewing the film and takes you in-depth into one throw for each quarterback during the Blue-White Game to give you a sense of what they accomplished during the scrimmage. Penn State cornerback Daequan Hardy and defensive end Nick Tarburton spoke with the media yesterday ahead of the team's annual Blue-White Game. Host of the BWI Daily Edition, Thomas Frank Carr, and senior editor Nate Bauer, discuss their impressions ahead of the weekend.They start with slot corner Daequan Hardy. Hardy is quietly one of the best players on the team, but his role last season was surprisingly small. So does Hardy want that to change? T-Frank asked the redshirt junior that question on Tuesday, and he plays Hardy's answer on the show. Penn State football offered current quarterback Drew Allar when he was an up-and-coming four-star player for Medina high school in Ohio. The soon-to-be Nittany Lion committed to the team before his senior season and erupted into a five-star, top-ten player in the Class of 2022. Today, the BWI Daily Edition takes you behind that transformation from a talented passer into a borderline superstar with the man who helped him get there. Private quarterback trainer Brad Maendler started working with Allar before his junior season and has tutored Allar throughout his final two seasons. Maendler takes you into the "Why behind the what." The Why Behind the WhatMaendler starts the show by explaining how he got into quarterback coaching. A former quarterback himself, it's an unlikely way that he started coaching players professionally. He explains learning the biomechanics behind throwing and where he learned them.After that, host Thomas Frank Carr and Maendler dive into the subject of Allar. The Ohio native explains what made him reach out to Allar's parents in the first place and how the young quarterback impressed him during training. Much like Penn State's other five-star players in the 2022 class, Allar went through a transformation during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The next in that line is three-star defensive end, Mason Robinson. The junior defender is heading into his senior season, holding an offer from Penn State, and is fresh off a visit to the school. He sits down with the host of the BWI Daily Edition, Thomas Frank Carr, to discuss his time in Happy Valley. Penn State football took a two-month hiatus between commitments, but they finally snagged another player for the Class of 2023 in four-star tight end, Andrew Rappleyea. Recruiting insider Ryan Snyder joins host Thomas Frank Carr to discuss how the New England product landed at Penn State. There were several notable Penn State recruiting prospects at the Under Armour camp in Baltimore on Sunday, and the BWI Daily Recruiting show was there to see them perform. Host Greg Pickel and recruiting insider Ryan Snyder was on-hand to see the Class of 2023 and beyond test and compete during the final weekend of March. So, they'll tell you the major news and observations that came out of the event on the show. They start with four-star linebacker Tony Rojas. Penn State football has a busy few days of recruiting in store as the BWI Daily Edition heads into the weekend. Recruiting insider Ryan Snyder joins the show to give you the important names and then update the top targets on defense for the Nittany Lions in 2023. Before that, they start with a Class of 2023 target that announced his top 5 today. Running back prospect Treyaun Webb put Penn State in the final group of schools along with South Carolina, Tennessee, Baylor, and Florida. So, where does Penn State stand on that list? This week, Penn State recruiting ended their "extended dead period," as recruiting insider Ryan Snyder called it. The BWI Daily Recruiting Show is here to give you the scoop on what's new and what names are important as the Nittany Lions get into the quiet recruiting period, where players can take visits to Happy Valley. Reporter Greg Pickel and Snyder run down the information of the week.Before getting to Penn State's first visitor of March, they start with the Nittany Lion's camp schedule for the summer. First, Snyder points out two key differences with Penn State's camp schedule and plan over the last several years. He explains why they're essential to understanding and then contextualizes the change. Next, he runs down the camp dates and the critical things to know about most of the schedule. Penn State wrestling steps back under the spotlight this week to pursue their ultimate goal, an NCAA championship. Penn State defensive end Arnold Ebiketie had a spectacular NFL Combine, drawing rave reviews for his performance in individual testing and on-field workouts. Penn State football may be on spring break, but that doesn't mean there still isn't plenty to talk about this week. As always, Thursday means it's time for the BWI Daily Mailbag show with host Thomas Frank Carr and senior editor Nate Bauer.They start with Bauer's article on Wednesday about breakout candidates for the 2022 season. He limited the list to three, but he and T-Frank expound on the number of young players who could take a step forward in their second season on campus. One of the players that Bauer chose was sophomore safety, Jaylen Reed. Penn State football got bad news this week from the transfer portal. Three of their top defensive end targets, Gabriel and Grayson Murphy of North Texas and Jordan Domineck of Gerogia Tech elected to go elsewhere. The twin pass rushers form North Texas chose UCLA as their transfer destination, while Domineck picked Arkansas over Penn State. Host of the BWI Daily Edition, Thomas Frank Carr, breaks down the sting factor of each decision, then explains what else is out there. After that, he looks at the roster to try and find solutions to the Nittany Lion's problem at d-end.First, T-Frank discusses why Domineck isn't a massive loss for Penn State. He doesn't think that the one-time Yellowjacket was a great fit given Penn State's need at the position and Domineck's skillset. There are very few times that Penn State recruiting is truly quiet. Spring break is one of them. But, despite the slowdown inside the Lasch Building, the BWI Daily Recruiting Show still has plenty to discuss. Reporter Greg Pickel and recruiting insider Ryan Snyder detail some news and notes on the show.They start with the news that Penn State offered a scholarship to four-star running back London Montgomery. The Scranton Prep running back was named to the On300 last week, but Snyder didn’t think the interest was fully there from the Nittany Lions at the time. He details his conversations with Montgomery and then explains the running back landscape in 2023 to try and glean some insight.The next topic of conversations deals with off-field personnel. Snyder reported yesterday that the team is hiring a new recruiting assistant. Who is Rashad Rich, and what does he do?
