An Un-Chartered Dive Into Listening - To You Neither you nor I know where this will go I've been thinking and talking about how we communicate with our unconscious mind, or you might say that inner voice that seems to go so quiet when we want answers from within. It's that intuition, the epiphany, the idea that feels so right when we get it but how do we replicate that process? #329 Oh Dear! What Have You Done?

Oh, Dear! What Have You Done? Did you really? Warning: There is a hypnosis process in this episode How far back can you really remember? clearly? Me not so much. How come I can't remember a pig running through our house when I was 2? and I was the one to see it first! The thing is we have done so many things in our lives that to consciously remember them all would I guess be overwhelming and I believe our unconscious mind has a recording of them all. Let's see how much we, together, can remember the things we have done and learned. What wonderful things have you been able to achieve? Relationships made and may be lost, or things created, mended, given, and received. I suggest a paper and pen to write them down so you don't forget one while recalling another. These, I think, are all part of our own personal Heros adventure/journey and the foundation to build on to create a life richly lived where your dreams are surpassed. How many excuses do we look for to not have to be a little uncomfortable and swerve any type of 'grind', that inevitable 'grid' that's needed to find our true self and achieve the success we deserve? This personal development lark is simple yet it takes perseverance, persistence, determination, and consistency, and to get where we want to be it takes us out of our comfort zone, I call it familiar zone, which can be uncomfortable and as I say a grind. But the PRIZE is immeasurable. Sometimes all this can lead to overwhelm and that's what I want to help with in this episode so you can look back once you have achieved your goals and shout out "I DID THIS!!!! I DID THAT!!!!" and you get to look in the mirror and see reflected back the you you were meant to be (I'm loving that saying). Let's Change a Behaviour Easily Why? Because you can - Easily Do you know an old wife? Apparently, they have some really good tales. One of them is it takes at least 30 consecutive days to change a behavior, and if you miss one day (even day 30) you have to begin again. Whoa!!!!! That's why you don't want to listen to old wives' BS. Changing a behavior is hard IF you try to do it consciously or cognitively and very rarely works or stays changed. I will go through ways that would make changing a behavior consciously, and cognitively, a little easier. But still, it takes a lot of effort as with anything consciously or cognitively. Now as you know Hypnosis and NLP work with the unconscious mind where all behaviors reside so I think this is the place to start - it's a no-brainer for me! So come with me and dive into a process that makes changing those unwanted behaviors a thing of the past. The Mantra Of Regret We all have regrets, You, me, and everyone else and for me, they stink. Oh! I wish I'd, Oh! If only I'd Oh! You fill in the blank I heard Seth Godin say "You rarely regret doing things" (Yep I know I have things I wish I had not done) and that is generally true when you compare it with the stuff you could have or wanted to do and didn't. But what if we learn from these times in the past I believe we can make the best use of that regret, at least we would be acknowledging the positive intent that sits with the negative emotion. This follows the presupposition that every behavior and emotion has a positive attention at its core - learn from it and the emotion or behavior disappears - BOOM!!!! Let's dive into the beliefs we had back then and how appropriate are they now and what facts were they actually based on. And let's dive into the beliefs we had in the things we loved doing too because they are based on the fact you succeeded. Never Knock The Simple Things Who Wants A Life Of Complications? Making changes to your life, and to your world does not have to be complicated. In fact, that is one of the reasons I started this podcast to dispel the complicated ways some make things to make them appear so so intelligent and better than any of their competitors. They sell this veil of deception and worry about competition when we should all be together serving each other in a way that assists us all to grow and become who we are meant to be in this world and our life time. OOOps just fell off my soap box ,O) Inspired by Jim Kwik who I heard saying "Don't let the simple things fool you" this jumped to one of our core thoughts you will hear ne quote from Albert Einstein "IN SIMPLICITY THERE IS GENIUS". This also reminded me of how Tony Robbins loved to get simple analogies for things that were complicated so he got them and could put them into a context he understood. But the thing is HOW do you break down the complicated into simple steps and then use those steps to get the same outstanding results? Well, that's where we're going in this episode - to learn how to 'model' (as pioneered by the geniuses of NLP Richard Bandler and John Grinder) the things you would like to emulate, to learn and change your world. This will increase your confidence to do more and have the self-esteem you dream of. We will also see how we can not only adopt these processes but adapt them to meet our personal needs and wants. I'll support all this with examples from my son's success doing exactly this. #321 Changing Your Negative Behaviors - It's Up To You

Changing Your Negative Behaviors - It's Up To You It Really Is and I'll Show You How Let me tell you a story about a previous client of mine, it'll help me explain where I'm going with this. The thing is whilst we can dislike and even hate our behaviors when you look deeper or below the surface we will find there is a positive intention behind them. I really believe in the presupposition of NLP that every, yes every, behavior has a positive intention. But when you experience the behavior as a negative it's hard to accept. Yet it's been borne out with every client I have worked with. I'll even explain through two other clients' experiences that they thought were phobias and shows how sometimes the unconscious mind, with the best of intentions, can make a mistake which also proves this point. When you understand this and begin to see the 'why' you can get your unconscious mind to change that behavior to something that you like and really supports you. And it does this because it gets to keep that positive intention recognizing the old behavior no longer is appropriate. Come with me in this audio delight to learn how you can change the behaviors you feel no longer serve you and make wonderful changes in your life, which in essence is why you and I are here. How Do You Know You Are UnConfident And Change It And Yes it is a word!!!!!! What would it be like to change that unconfidence or low self-esteem or anxiety and do it quickly? But how do you know how much unconfident we are? How do we measure it because it's not all the time in every area of your life? I measure my unconfidence with the way I feel, and how I think inside as things are happening. I'll share my experience when I got to know it - I even forgot my own name because of it! From there it's so easy to project that into the future and make it scary before it even happens, I think we can all remember that happening. Let's look at the different ways we prepare to 'fail' and those ways we thought something would be difficult and smashed it! The thing is confidence does not come from your achievements of the past it's attached to something more important - YOUR INTENTION. We'll dive deeply into that way of thinking and find examples from others such as Bill Burr that support this. It's all in our perception and mostly in what we intend as a result. It's so counterintuitive of a kind. We'll not only have a conversation about and around this but we'll find ways to counter any 'Unconfidence' and to access all the resources and skills you need to make a success of anything you used to anxiety about. We'll use our imagination, which as we know is limitless, and guide our unconscious mind to have and be what we want to have and be. Now, this may seem a little difficult but you would be completely wrong! In simplicity there is genius and everything we do will be simple to carry out and do. Having said that it is all about the doing - Knowing and doing and when we do success follows together with a feeling of empowerment and the thought 'What else can I achieve?' #317 When Baggage Unpacks Itself

When Baggage Unpacks Itself The Ah-Ha Moment Following on from the previous episode I now contradict myself - Well not really it's just that I gave this subject a little more thought of my experiences with clients when things, issues, 'stuff' just unpacks itself before our eyes, and the answer, as usual, has been hiding in plain sight. And it normally happens when we are sure, really sure, we know what caused the issue and that conviction hides the real reason and positive intention behind the issue. My metaphor for this is that we have all the jigsaw pieces on the floor but they are face down and someone has taken away the box top with the picture. Then as we explore the issue turn over one piece which rarely makes sense, then another which never seems to fit the first piece. but we go on and explore a little more and turn over a third piece. none of them fit but we see the connection and AH-Ha!!! There it is, and it was hiding in plain sight and it becomes so obvious and in the therapy room, the right process comes to mind, and BOOM!!!!! we're done. I'll take you through this but remember this is for small 'stuff' (I'm a therapist but not your therapist - Have to say that). If you're not sure put it in the BIG STUFF category and find a great therapist, one that will help in 2-3 sessions. Either way, have a listen and you will either understand and let the small stuff go or it will prepare you for that 121 work. Just understanding the positive intention and asking your unconscious mind, your best friend, to find a better way can be the difference that makes the difference. Unpacking Baggage - But Do We Need To? A little while ago I received an email from a lister asking how to unpack the baggage in their life and I have my own thoughts on that. One of them is why do you need to unpack 'stuff' that you know wasn't nice? You might only get to feel that way again so why would you? There's also the thought that the emotional state you are in will affect how you remember events. They're never quite so bad when you feel good but you're probably not in that good space so how will that be? That also means memories are never really remembered as they were so for me, why consciously recall something that's not what it was? Yep! I know some therapists do regression 'stuff' but I personally don't get it when I think there are better and more comfortable ways to get the results you want. Obviously, if it's 'BIG STUFF' you will, I suggest, want to see a therapist, and I would recommend a good hypnotist with NLP and Time Line Therapy(tm) and get it sorted really quickly. Oh! That's how it can be done, don't listen to those who say it's a long drawn-out process that's, in my little world, BS. So how do you do it Cloughie? you're saying Well, on the principle that you didn't consciously create this issue it would be best to go where it was created - your unconscious mind. I'll give you some examples of how I do it and ways that you can do it for yourself - but not with a big issue - see above BIG STUFF. It's all about the process of understanding the intention and finding a better way to get it UNCONSCIOUSLY You will need a pen and paper if you're serious about this and your conscious intention to let this issue go. The Cause of Anxiety - Fire - Ready - Aim!!!! That's what we do - Don't we, Don't you? I know I have Let's get real - So Ok, not the only cause of anxiety but one that we bring on ourselves with ease and it just makes things go from somewhere to worse. Yes I hear you, but I did it this way and it was fine and there is always a rule to fit the exception :O) I have had my experience doing it that way and failing (if we recognize failure as a thing), and with just a couple of tweaks changed things from somewhere to GREAT! And I share with you in this episode how I messed up and how I didn't and how you can do the latter so much more often until it becomes a success habit. And when you do anxiety and fear begin to disappear and self-confidence and self-esteem come to the fore. Whatsmore it's simple, and in simplicity there is genius, we know that. The only thing is knowing this stuff is not enough, knowing without putting that knowledge into action isn't worth s**t. Knowing what to do and doing what you know that's where we find gold my friend. Tall Poppy Syndrome - Are You At The Effect Of It If you're on this PD Adventure you probably are Do you have the pain of those 'nay sayers', those people around you that don't support you on your personal development hero's adventure? It may not be everyone but there are a few and they may be family members or one or two from your group of friends. They slowly, in their own way, bring your back to where they are. Slowly sapping your energy and get you to question yourself "who am I to do this for me?" and re-confirming that old negative belief "I'm Not Good Enough" But that's their issue, not yours and you have to do what you want to do to be the best you that you can be and continue to grow. You see, some are just not ready but you are. You are here creating your vision for yourself and I am here to support you in every way I can, to move your wishes into dreams then make them a reality, and then make it better than that. Together you can achieve more than you can imagine and your imagination is limitless, infinite. But being the person I know you to be it can be hard because you care. The thing is you owe it to yourself to care about yourself first. Just like on the airplane Breathe first before you help others to breathe. A Song To Sing La! La! La! It's a singing lesson. Not really, that would be silly but it's a great metaphor. We talk about, well I do, that we have a song to sing and that sounds great. I discover a big problem with that - What if we don't know what our song is or if we have been singing one it may not be ours? When we feel lost it gets even worse and we can get wrapped up in so many other people's songs, what they think we should be doing or how we should be doing or don't do that it won't work or worse than that you're not good enough to do that. When we feel lost we can also get more lost by simply taking the easy way by going with the flow and that means out of your control - sorry but it's true. I'll tell you about how learned to sing a completely wrong song and what a difference when I realized that! But I think I'm getting to learn my real song now but it took time and learning it bit by bit. So how do you find your song with all the BS that hides it? Well, that's where I want to share what I think and how I think you can get find your song and be able to sing it with your true and real voice. Well, that's the intention. Hopefully, you will get to realize your song in the world is unique because you're one of a kind, there is no one like you, never has been, and never will be. It's just that we shy away from the negative and failing, if you believe in it, carries with it many negative feelings and behaviors. One of the biggest forerunners of failure is the well-known phrase, GO WITH THE FLOW. It seems such a great easy going way to live - NOT! In this episode we will dive deeply into not only what 'failure' is - really is - not only how to learn from 'failure' but the real HOW TO create a life without failure. You don't really know but not knowing is worse than bad Some people think don't set goals, go with the flow - That's bad And the thing is there's always a goal in there somewhere whether you like it or not. #309 Help I'm Being Attacked!

Help I'm Being Attacked! And so are you Have you ever had the experience of walking in the dark forest, hunting for food, looking for some kind of sustenance and you hear 'CRACK!' You look around and can't see anyone and your heart begins to race and you begin to imagine that tiger, not just any tiger but a Saber-toothed tiger, and imagine all the things that could happen to you if it gets you. No! of course not, that would be ridiculous! Yet you're doing that very same thing and creating anxiety, nervousness, low-self esteem, and ultimately a complete lack of confidence in yourself. How do I know? Because we all do it. We still have this program inside us trying to protect us from danger. In the past many hundreds, if not thousands of years ago it was totally appropriate and would have saved our lives. But that was then and this is now (unless you're in the bear/mountain lion woods) We have to change this because those negative emotions you feel don't get better by themselves and they tend to get worse and I think you either know that or have experienced that. I bet those feelings of anxiety and fear were less a couple of years ago and even weaker way before that, they grow in intensity over time if not addressed = How do I know? Because we all do it. Your unconscious mind is pre-programmed to keep you safe and We still need to be safe, but the environment is different and the perils are different too. So we need another way - Keeping the intention and changing the behavior. So in this episode, I share one or two ways that do exactly that and that guide your unconscious mind to keep keeping you safe and let you be comfortable and successful in all that you wish to do. But it's not just about knowing this stuff, I know a lot of you do but it's about doing it and doing it regularly. When you do you will see, hear and feel the benefit and reap the success. #306 When Beliefs Hold You Back

When Beliefs Hold You Back Imagine being able to find the belief that's holding you back from succeeding and change it - What would that success feel like? And that's where I go in this episode, being able to find, identify and be able to change limiting beliefs. And beliefs can change in a heartbeat, even closely held core beliefs. I know this to be true because I have done it myself and with virtually every client I work with. So if you have a dream for yourself, something you really want to do but it just seems to falter as if something is holding you back then this is for you (Cloughie said modestly) First, we loosen your model of the world around that limiting belief, I'm not good enough, I don't deserve this you know the type and then......................... well I'm not telling you hear - it's a podcast silly! We'll go deep and if you have the will to do whatever it takes, and I know you do, then I believe you'll find this so right and you will be able to change the beliefs that have been holding you back, to self-sabotage and begin to live the life you deserve with all its richness. I'm Not Good Enough - What If It's Not True What!? I may be good enough - No Way! Maybe there is a question, when you ask it of yourself you may just change your mind - Your Unconscious Mind. We all have negative beliefs, don't you? I'm not good enough, I'm not worthy, I'm stupid, I'm you fill in the blank> So from my thinking book, my 'Puzzle book' where I sit and think and muse and in some way connect to my unconscious mind. This is what I was thinking about these negative beliefs we so easily accept - have you ever asked "Is this true?" and then ask yourself have I ever been the opposite, when I have been Good Enough - been Worthy - been Ok - been successful? What examples do I have from my past that disprove those beliefs? When you find them then you will know these negative beliefs are untrue ad unfounded. The Secret Of Thinking We all think we think but do we? A personal admission - I used to think I thought about 'stuff' and I enjoyed thinking that, it made me feel good even a little special - What a dope I was! When I thought about it I didn't really know what deep thinking was - do you? And when I found out I hadn't really been thinking I gave myself a real dressing down - which made me feel worse ( why do we do that to ourselves, I didn't do it on purpose) And the thing is it isn't even a secret, sorry. Is what I have found out in my own personal discovery the only way? Absolutely not, there a better people than me who do it better than me but that doesn't matter and never should it -This is my small step in the adventure of deep work! Have You A Song To Sing? Have you a minute to think about what your song is? This episode was born by listening to Lynn Fox on the Mark Devine podcast (you have to listen to that show - it's great!) and what seemed a short throwaway line "Be Your Song In The World" and it made me think that's your mission, your reason for being here. Yes, I talk a lot about finding your true voice and now we can take that one step further with that found confidence. Not just to sing our song, quietly, but to BE our song and follow our ultimate vision whatever that may be for you. So how do you learn your song to be able to be your song? Maybe start with a little hum, a little hum on the inside so we can develop it into our song to let it come out on the outside. Come with me as I develop this metaphor that I hope will want you to muse deeper and take steps to find your song and allow us to hear it. This is a 5-minute quickie, straight into the microphone.
