The longer podcast and the title in search for an easy life. Don't be fooled. It's a bit abstract, isn't it? You see, there's a. I can remember way, way, way back, years ago. It is years ago. I remember going to this little workshop, little workshop here. It was in an evening. So that's how it is. Like an hour's workshop at, this little thing. I don't know, can't even remember what the organization was, but this guy stood up in front of us, and there's only, say, 20 of us there. He stood up and told this story. But it wasn't a story story. It was a story of. I can see the pictures in my mind, but I can't remember what the story was about, but it was how something was produced, how it started, how it got to be made, then how it was transported, moved around and done that. And, after about ten minutes, he said, there you go, what did I tell you? And we go, well, you told us a story about making something. I remember something about carrots, that was weird because they were all very abstract, but I just didn't get it. And he said, do you want to know how to remember things easier to be able to go through what I've told you in that story of mine, and to remember it without having to make masses of notes. So I said, well, I was there in my head, I'm with you, Mandez. So he went through this thing called mind mapping. And our mind mapping is not new. Well, it can't be new, because it was years and years and years ago. And he showed us a way to break things down, or what appeared to be complicated things into simple little pictures and lines from a middle, from a middle circle of what the title was, and then broke each one down into little steps. And, even the steps had only a couple of words on, maybe keywords and, ah, a little picture. So he said, I'm telling you the story again. Let's just make m t

Or sometimes, and I've had this myself sometimes you think, I must be bloody invisible, I'm being overlooked, not being seen, so no one's taking any notice. I'm not being heard. And it doesn't matter what I say. It's as if no one is listening to me. No one at all. At times m like that because they're bloody bad, aren't they? They are bad. And we can fall into this, this pattern of negative emotions around that, and then we'll come up with this wonderful effect, and, it's called cause and effect, and we're going to come up with the effect of, well, it's all their fault. It's not their fault because when we put reasons and excuses out there, that's like playing the poor me syndrome. I'm going to tell you a couple of stories first about comics I'm going to tell you a couple of stories first, because I think it's really important that we are, able to do the things we love, create our dreams without people bringing us down, not supporting us, in fact, trying to change our mind. So here's the thing. Two stories. The first one, it's, about me. You see, I used to love Saturday mornings because Saturday mornings, this is when I was, I don't know, eight or nine year old about that. And I love Saturday mornings because on Saturday mornings, my mum and dad used to take me to the local market. It's a little way away, but sort of local. And it had one store that I loved going to. And it's all about Marvel comics, you know, the Superman comics, DC Comics, because I wanted to be an artist. An artist for the. The Marvel comics, to draw with them, to do things. And I really so desperately wanted to. I used to draw at home. I remember even when I had one called the Cloverman with a hat with a big clover on the front. it was so good. Well, the drawing wasn't, but I was only eight. Be fair. I really wanted to do it. And you see, I even got to being first in my senior school for art. I was so pleased with myself. And then it suddenly disappeared. I went from first to nowhere. Joseph became a master hypnotist at the age of 18 Second story, about my son, my youngest son, Joseph. See, Joseph again, very young, youngish, certainly before senior school. But we're not going to. Well, we're not going to find out what it is yet, because I want to. Well, see if you can resonate with this. You see, we have issues. I think everybody has an issue of some kind. And in, this lovely world of personal development, we want to get rid of those issues and then move on. And guess what? We find more issues. Cause we're always striving, aren't we, to find that little bit more richer life that we're here. And it's what we're here for, basically, isn't it? To have a richer life, enjoy it. The miracle question asks how will you know when an issue has disappeared Now, here's a typical client situation. You see, I always ask, and you should be asking this yourself, where you should sort of, if you've got an issue, I like to ask them a few questions about the issue, and then I'll go, well, hang on a minute. How will you know? How will you know when the problem's gone? How will you know when the issue's gone? And I go, ooh, haven't thought about that. I don't really know. And, the thing is, if you don't know what it will be like, ish. Because you never know quite exactly what it is. But if you don't know quite how it's going to be when the issue is gone or you've changed and made the changes, how will you know you've changed? Because I think it's really good to recognize the changes that we make. We can celebrate them. Now, I've talked about that before, celebrating the things that we do that are, good for us and make us feel good. Because I think that just spreads outside and inside. But the thing is, if you don't know you changed, you might continue to keep trying to change. Why would you do that? Waste your time? But I do get it. I do get it, because sometimes we've got these issues and they're a little bit deeper, or we've been struggling with them for a little bit of a longer time than we'd want t

And maybe we're just telling you and hopefully, supporting you in knowing that it's going to go really easily. It can do. So here's, I've got a couple of processes here, because knowing that anxiety hasn't happened, it's not real. But the thing is, I want to go back into a real life story, because anxiety is weird, isn't it? So weird. And we've all suffered from it, and we all suffer in different ways, I guess. Sometimes with panic attacks, sometimes with our heart just starting to race just a little bit, maybe our breath gets a little bit. I don't know. It just. And we get. I don't know. Well, you do know. We do know. It just overwhelms us sometimes, doesn't it? And there's nothing else that we can think of other than that bloody thing. Here's a story, and it's true, by the way. It is a true one. Happened a little while ago. See, I remember this time when I was thinking about this processes, when I was really worried about something. And it's quite weird, because I wasn't even in the bloody same country as this thing was supposed to happen in. It was like a sort of confrontation with somebody, or someone was threatening to confrontation with me about something, and I wasn't even there, so it couldn't happen at all. I was in a different bloody country. But, and there was a but it made no bloody difference. It didn't make any difference at all. And, even knowing what I know, I still felt, I still fell for it. In other words, what the fuck comes to mind. But, at that time, it didn't and as I thought about it, miles away from the scene

And guess what? For over two years, I got nothing. I think I had two inquiries. And, one of those inquiries, there was a guy there, he was so proud. He said, but I can't accept it for nothing. I can't afford a lot, but I will pay you what I can afford. Because it was then of value to him, because he wasn't paying nothing for it, or it wasn't free. That's weird. But that's like an aside, because a little while ago, it was quite some time ago, this story jumped into my head. And it's a story about me. I was doing some shopping and I'd parked my car into a multi story car park. And as I'm going back to the car, I'm walking up these steps to get to the top, and I saw this fella, young lad, sitting on the stairs, looking a bit down. He didn't really say much to me. He and I do a 1 hour long, at least 1 hour long q and a live call twice what? Twice each a month, where we answer questions and also bring in new stuff to the program. And one I did a little while ago was all about. I've called it the ikigaia of stretch. And I explained Nikki guy about that in the, q and a recording. But it's all about how I think with this new. This new. It's not a new process. I don't think so, but a process that I've sort of developed helping you to change from a behavior you don't like to something you do like, or a behavior you're not doing, and you want to do something stopping you and how to get on, to doing it. So this is an extract. The recording is a little bit wavy. I've cleaned up as best I can, so it's not too bad, but I think you'll really enjoy it because it's just another way, another process of being able to change easily and effortlessly. And what a weird title. A victory speech from the balcony. What the hell does that mean? Cloughie. That's what you're thinking. I know you are. Well, here's the thing. Did you ever listen to someone, hear what they say and, think, yes, yes, that's exactly it. I've been using that. It's like a validation of what you've been taught or what you've learned. And that's what I got. See, I was listening to this podcast, and it was by the guy, a button, or by a guy called get it right Cloughie. William Ure. I think that's how you pronounce his, surname. It's ure. So ure or ure, but William. And he's a chief negotiator, and he's negotiated in every different level you can think of. So political countries, all sorts of things going on at, really, really high levels. And he did this thing he was talking about, instead of trying to look at a problem, like negotiating between two parties and what's a problem? And all the steps that you're going to take to get to the solution, what you want. He said what he used to do was literally write out a victory speech. Now, what a wonderful way to solve a problem. You go to the end, having already got the solution, and you write it down. And why do we write it down? You know why we write it down? Because it goes into your brain in so many different ways. Those neural pathways are going to start firing together, wiring together, because you have to describe it in such a way. We call it vacog. What a weird thing. V a k o g in NLP terms. You describe it visually, you'll see it with your internal representation, your imagination in your mind. So you'll see it whether you see it in 2020, vision or just glimpses, it doesn't matter. You're aware, but you can describe it. You describe what you'll see having got the result you want. So this is your victory speech. You'll describe all the sights, maybe even the pictures in your mind, then the things you'll hear, the auditory side. How will the words sound? Feel Good and Getting Better it me or do we all want everything NOW! Instantaneously or even quicker.I think we've fallen into the trap that instant gratification is the thing. But if we get that then we want the next thing and the next thing and I feel we miss out. Why do we want everything instantaneously? That might be the title of this podcast or this episode, I'm not sure yet, but just for a moment, just for a moment, while you're here with me, I'd like you to take a breath. Just a breath. And, know that you're blessed because you are. Just take that breath. Because I've been thinking. I do that. I do a lot of weird thinking. And I was thinking the other day, why do we want everything now? And I'm saying we, because I know I do. I know I do. Occasionally, not always, but I get lost in that. But I see it in so many different ways that people, want something right now. Right now at the latest, tomorrow. You know, everything you order has got to be here tomorrow. Can't wait. Got to have it. And it's like a race, even. It's not just getting things to be able to do things to, you know, maybe in this land, this life of personal development, there's a race to get somewhere quicker, to find that hack. And I hate the word hack, you know that. To learn something quicker, to have it now, to be able to do these things instant, bloody taneously. And it's. Is it? Or is it? Or is it. Is that search for instant gratification feeling good right now, no delay. It's got to happen now. And I think when you have that instant gratification, it just doesn't last. Because the thing is, we've got this in our mindset. I'm saying we. Maybe it's all me. I don't know. But I think there's a bit of this in everybody, and there's certainly a lot of it in a lot of people as well. And I think we can learn from others. We can learn the good things about others, and we can learn what not to do from others actions. But that instant gratification doesn't last, because the next thing I want, the next thing I want, the next thing now. I want it now. I want it now. You don't even have time to enjoy, to enjoy what you have, right now, what you've achieved. So that's why I said, let's stop, take a breath, pause for a little while,

Reviewing The Past To Move Forward Now, I know what you're thinking – why dwell on the past? Isn't personal development all about the future? Well, yes and no. Here's the thing: understanding our past is like having a map. It shows us where we've been, helps us see the patterns in our journey, and guides us toward where we want to go. Think about it – when you look back at your own life, what do you see? Moments of triumph, sure, but also those stumbles and falls. And guess what? Both are equally valuable. Those victories? They remind you of your strengths and capabilities. Those mistakes? They're not failures; they're lessons in disguise, packed with insights about what to avoid and how to navigate obstacles more effectively. Changing Your Attitude To Imposter Syndrome When you look at things differently the things you look at are different, I love that saying. So if we change the way we look at Imposter syndrome, change our attitude, Imposter syndrome changes too if not disappears. And we all suffer from Imposter Syndrome in one form or another, in different contexts, and no one escapes from it - from the rich, the famous to little old you and me. A little warning there is 4 or 5 sort of swear words near the end of the episode but they do make sense So what is it?: Imposter syndrome, a psychological phenomenon, corrodes self-esteem, creating a constant fear of being exposed as a fraud despite achievements. Individuals afflicted often doubt their abilities, attributing success to luck or circumstance rather than competence, leading to chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. This pervasive insecurity hampers professional growth, impeding career advancement and stifling creativity. Relationships suffer as affected individuals struggle to accept praise or connect authentically. Whoa!!!! So by changing our attitude to all of the above would be a good thing - Right? And if we keep your unconscious mind's positive intention to keep you safe, as well as seeing and feeling differently, that is being competent and confident we should be onto a winner. Creating Yours and My Greatest Moments I overheard someone say "My greatest successes did not come from my greatest successes but from my greatest defeats" Defeats are inevitable companions. They arrive unexpectedly, challenging our resolve and testing our mettle. However, within each defeat lies a profound opportunity for growth and learning. We've all got some bloody great moments in our lives. If you were to think back, you got some really good ones. I've got some really good ones. And the other day I heard this, this sentence, and, I can't for the life of me think who said it. It was on a podcast, I think could have been in a book, I think. I don't know if you know, let me know. But it says, my greatest moments did not come from my greatest moments. They came from my greatest defeats. And when I heard that, I thought, that can't be right. Surely that's wrong. Can't be right. My greatest moments did not come from my greatest moments. They came from my greatest defeats. And you see, when I looked and thought deeply about that, just in the sentence, it doesn't say they came from my greatest failures. It says the word defeat. And why would that be? And you see there in, I'm, sure it's everywhere else but in NLP land. Neuro linguistic programming, one of the great presuppositions, which is a nice useful assumption, is there is no such thing as failure, just feedback. It's a result. You got something, maybe it wasn't what you expected and you've called it a failure because that's why I didn't want that. But that's what you got. So it's just feedback. But I think sometimes when we call them fail

Taking My Last Breath So We Can Live A Good Life If it's possible that we have only one life on this little old planet Earth what a waste to waste any of that time. Knowing you're here, I'm guessing you will feel the same as me too. So............................. What would happen if we were to imagine going to the end of our time line of the future and taking our last breath and look back on what we want to have achieved in that life time? And because it's in our imagination you can do this imagining everything you want to have done, experienced - the sight, sounds and feelings of all your dreams having been truly realized. Oh! and probably a bit more because you can :O) And it's how we can take notice of those reminders and Ah-Ha moments that will guide us to fulfill this life with amazing times. Take responsibility, be at cause, because when you're at cause the effects don't come into it. You create those effects, actually. And for me this is why it's important to me, I think, I'm not sure, but we may only have one life, this tiny little pinprick in the whole of the, of the universal time that started when and will finish when we may just have one little life. And what a waste it would be just to waste

A Twist To The Act of Gratitude I often feel the act of gratitude, writing those 5 things you're grateful for can end up being a little bit by rote, and the feeling just diluted. This got me thinking of how we can vary this to keep things alive. This is not a replacement just a little spicing up and gets you thinking a little deeper about what you are grateful for. I'm Scarred and Imperfect PART 2 We've done the talk now it's the walk In the journey of self-discovery and personal growth, embracing imperfections isn't just about accepting them; it's also about engaging in the profound act of self-healing. When we confront our scars and imperfections head-on, we embark on a journey of healing that can lead to greater self-awareness, resilience, and inner peace. Self-healing begins with acknowledging and accepting our imperfections without judgment or self-criticism. It's about recognizing that our scars, whether physical or emotional, are part of our story but do not define us. Instead of viewing them as flaws to be hidden or fixed, we can see them as opportunities for growth and transformation. One of the most powerful tools in self-healing is self-compassion. Just as we would show kindness and understanding to a friend facing challenges, we can offer the same compassion to ourselves. Self-compassion involves treating ourselves with gentleness, patience, and understanding, especially in times of struggle or pain. Another essential aspect of self-healing is forgiveness. This includes forgiving ourselves for past mistakes, letting go of resentments, and releasing the burdens of guilt or shame. Forgiveness doesn't mean condoning harmful behavior or forgetting the past; rather, it's about freeing ourselves from the emotional weight that holds us back from healing and growth. Self-care is also integral to the process of self-healing. This involves prioritizing our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through practices such as exercise, mindfulness, creative expression, and seeking support from loved ones or professionals when needed. By nurturing ourselves holistically, we create the conditions for healing to take place. Finally, self-healing requires courage and vulnerability. It's about facing our fears, confronting painful emotions, and being willing to explore the depths of our inner selves. This journey isn't always easy or linear, but it is incredibly rewarding, leading to greater self-awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of connection to ourselves and others. In embracing imperfections as opportunities for growth and engaging in the art of self-healing, we empower ourselves to live more authentically, wholeheartedly, and compassionately. #386 I'm Scarred and Imperfect

I'm Scarred and Imperfect Part 1 Let's celebrate just how we are and then learn how to we can change to be who we wish to be and have what we wish to have. We do need to acknowledge where we are in this striving to be the best version of ourselves so we can build on it, start and continue to build from a firm and stable foundation. To me - We're all a ikkle bit broken or a little bit damaged, we've all got a few 'isms' and we carry a little bit of baggage and that's great! Because when we do truthfully acknowledge this to ourselves we can begin to make meaningful changes, which I guess is why you listen hear. When we try to deny that imposter syndrome ism, guilt ism, anxiety ism and every other emotional ism you can think of we will continue the internal conflict and waste that valuable energy we have. Let's use it to create a life we can be proud of. As usual I'll share some personal stories and insights. Be Careful What You Practice You might forget what you are practicing and find the results not to your liking. This little 5-minute FMQ muse was inspired by listening to Denzil Washington correcting a reporter if he practices telling untruths that's what you will end up doing as a habit. You see, we often get confused thinking practice makes perfect and it certainly doesn't. Also, we have to practice consciously - which we don't. But I Don't Know Where To Start We've all cried this at one time or another - Or is it just me? And every reason I give seems so valid. The harsh truth is every reason you give is an excuse or a whiney reason to get us out of doing the thing and in a lot of cases the thing could be just the thing you need to do to make your life GREAT. So let's go make a difference and find out what stops you and what will make you start. I'll share a couple of personal stories and even a way when you really don't know what step to take so there will never be an excuse or reason ever. And, maybe you do, but I bet you give all the blooming reasons and excuses why you can't. And this is the antidote to that. How to find that first step, the middle step, the last step of anything you want to do, because it'll be so important to you, so compelling, you'll be motivated the hell to do it. And I, hear this from so many people, I even hear it from myself sometimes. And it's that thing, I don't know where to start. I know what I want to do. Ish, but I can't start because I. Don'T know where to start. And even that, that is thought to. Be a valid reason. I don't know where to start. So that's a valid reason. No, it's a bloody excuse because reasons why you can't do anything are, simply excuses. It's a bit harsh, clothy. Yeah, but they are. There's always something to blame, as it were. There's always somebody blame so that more. Clearly somebody to blame. Oh, I can't do that because they need my time. Well, I've got to do this. I've got to do that for them first. I've got to look after them first. I can't do it myself. Oh, the weather's in the way. Oh, the economy's in the way. Oh, there's every bloody excuse under the. Sun in the way. So what was a valid reason? Isn't. There is no such thing as a valid reason for. I don't know where to start. But the thing is, we also say. Why? Why me? It seems so right to ask, why me? Why can't I find this thing? Why has it always happened to me that I can't do this thing I want to do? Why are these people always in the way? Why are these things, I've got different responsibilities. Why have I got these excuses, basically. And the thing is, asking that why. Question like that, why me? Why is it always happening? Will give you a brilliant answer. It'd be false, by the way, but. It'D be a brilliant answer because it'll be one of your limiting beliefs. Well, becau
