3BG at the Movies| A Working Man
EThe title says it all! The geeks talk about the newest Statham movie that's all about kicking in teeth and getting the job done! Like A WORKING MAN!!!

Kamen Rider Hibiki | Morphin Metacast (Audio only)
E#KamenRider #KamenRiderHibiki #Tokusatsu #Toku Kamen Rider Hibiki stands out amongst the other Kamen Rider shows especially during Heisei Era Rider shows. From the Kamen Rider designs down to the enemies, this show initially stood out as being very unique. But in typical business, the show ended up pivoting into a different direction that was in line with previous rider shows. What you end up with is a show that has two different pathways tonally and a movie that in a way brings the show back into its old form.

3BGPodcast| Django Unchained
E3BG are back at full power for this one. In a giant sized episode, the critics talk about a movie special to many blacks. Django Unchained may be the best slave movie of all time. And with that orange guys in the white house right now, this review is very illuminating.

This is a fun conversation where we get into the mind of JG and how he formulated this unique take on the multiverse concept. You can find all of Jordan's materials here: https://beacons.ai/travelersfrontier

Working Title Sports Show Ep. 193- Git Wit Da Program
EThe Program was the gritty 90's football movie that was breaking many rules of college sport movies. Showing drug use, corruption and high stakes college administrative business! The was also shined a light on subjects the world wasn't fully ready/educated about when it came out. Don't worry, Cj and Dee are to talk about it!

3BGPodcast| Do The Right Thing
EDo The Right Thing is one of the most important films ever made. It is the story of a hot day in Brooklyn that dives into race relations, community love, and just regular people having a regular day. The movie was great then and is still great now.

3BG At the Movies| Captain America: Brave New World
EMany folks had trepidations about this film given the background, thankfully Brave New World is a solid watch. From solidifying Sam Wilson as Captain America with confidence to the Winter Soldier'esque Political thriller vibes, it's a very entertaining watch. It addresses story beats from MCU movies of the past in a way that doesn't deviate from the story it's telling. Definitely see this film. You won't regret it. #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld #CaptainAmerica #MCU #Marvel #Disney

3BGPodcast| A Soldier's Story
EBlack History Month deserves HIGH Black Cinema. This week it's A Soldier's Story. It's a movie every black military has seen at least once. A film that tackles Racism, Black Self-Hate, Colorism, the treatment of black soldiers in the Jim Crow South, and what it's like to see yourself in a position of power for the first time. This a Black All-Star movie and it isn't talked about enough.

3BGPodcast| Ernest Goes To Jail
EOur first of many reviews of the man, the myth, the legend Jim Varney! Dee and Cj have a fun conversation about this loveable redneck. We talk about the movies, Jim's acting, the shenanigans of the film, how black kids viewed him, and of course, likable white folk.

3BGPodcast| Shutter Island
EThe mind is a terrible thing to waste or to be toyed with. This movie has split up fans for years and has a bigger following. Martin Scorsese directs another amazing movie that's actually out of his wheelhouse. Psychological Thriller that is heavily metaphoric and symbolic. It tells you the answer and you'll still question what is real. Originally recorded (10/24/2024)

3BGPodcast| Wayne's World
EPARTY TIME! EXCELLENT! It is the most successful SNL spinoff of all time. It's been a long time coming with this movie and us. We talk about Mike Myers, Tia Carrere, Dana Carvey having a Scottie Pippen deal, Rob Lowe being Rob Lowe, Rock music, and madness.

3BGPodcast| Metal Gear Solid 4
EWe begin 2025 with Metal Gear! The 4th game will go down as the one people didn't like but is probably the most protected by the fans. It was a game Kojima didn't want to make but made it because he loved us so much. A game that looks gorgeous and the gameplay is like a dream but overshadowed by nearly 9 hours of cutscenes. A game that answered all of the questions, and I mean ALL of them! A game that should be burned but also needs to be in the Smithsonian. In this gigantic episode of 3BG, we talk about it all. (New Ending song by Kxxdo- Spotless)

3BGPodcast| Sister Act
EIt's our first Whoopi Goldberg movie and we picked a classic. The movie that helped Whoopi "EGOT", and also made her a legend. It's a story about a 3rd rate lounge singer who's ducking the mob and was placed in a convent. We talk about the legacy, the music, the actors, and Bill "F'N" NUNN! RIP Maggie Smith (Originally recorded August 29, 2024)

Working Title Sports Show| Ep. 192- Christmas Presents
EOur final episode of the year and we talk a lot about the last few games of the season. We also talk about the College Bowl Games/BSC, the NBA, the baseball GOD Ricky Henderson, and wrapping up 2024.

3BG At the Movies| Nosferatu
E#Dracula #Nosferatu #Horror A remake of the 1922 film, Nosferatu is a movie that nails horror noir vibes of the original film top the bottom. Bill Skarsgård is unrecognizable as the Count and he really builds on the characters motivations as he's psychically stalks Lily Rose-Depp's character of Ellen. Great cinematography, great performance, brooding music that matches the films vibes. Definitely go see this film.

3BGPodcast| Batman Returns
EThe last 3BGPodcast of the year and it's our Christmas Movie! This year we talk about the Dark Knight again! Tim Burton's second go at Batman was met with praise and controversy. The Geeks talk about it all, the toys, the acting, and even Burton's career. It's a perfect way to cap off an excellent year for 3BG!

Morphin Metacast| Ultraman Blazar
E#UltramanBlazar #Ultraman #Tokusatsu #TsuPro Ending 2024 with a bang as CJ and Prime talk all about Ultraman Blazar. A show that was a big rollout of Ultraman being simulcast here in the U.S. and Japan. It was a big deal alongside the show being dubbed as well. Fun series overall and a wild summer experience with the movie followup.

3BG At the Movies| Sonic the Hedgehog 3
E#Sonic3 #SonicTheHedgehog3 #Paramount #SEGA #Sonic Paramount is battin 3 for 3 on these Sonic films and haven't let up. Director Jeff Fowler really has a good grasp on the world of Sonic the Hedgehog and does a phenominal job of making you care on the plight of the characters. In this instance, he nails everything about Shadow top to bottom. And even past that character, just expanding on the worldbuilding of the first 2 movies is great to watch. Go see this film immediately.

PMC 2024 | ThreeZero Interview
E#PMC2024 #PowerMorphicon #PowerRangers #Tokusatsu #Toku ThreeZero is a company that is a game changer in the toy market especially on the collecting side. Through strategic planning especially in navigating the ebbs and flow of the consumer market, they have been able to gain major success. PMC 2024 | Sentai Jackets Interview
E#PMC2024 #PowerMorphicon #PowerRangers #SuperSentai The game has changed in terms of nerd apparel. Much like with AlCombo, Sentai Jackets is another company that is changing the way fans can wear apparel from the toku world. As the name implies they're a company that puts out jackets representative of toku shows and they recently made a huge impact with the recent Rescue Series jackets inspired from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Be sure to check out our main site with some photos of the booth. www.3blackgeeks.com

3BG At the Movies| Kraven The Hunter
E#SpiderMan #KravenTheHunter #Kraven #Sony #SpiderVerse This movie is standard action fare in line with the sort of Direct to Home Video throwback from the 80's/90's. The added bonus is this movie using Kraven as the basis of said action film. While the character in the comics does have lore that you could build a movie on, this film scratches the surface in ways that could've been better. You ultimately get a film that ends up being very middle of the road despite it being the best of the SpiderMan spinoff set of movies. Thank God Sony is ending this.

3BGPodcast| High Risk
EHeist Cinema Winter continues with us redoing our second episode. 13 years ago we tackled the Jet Li movie "High Risk". We return to is as seasoned film critics and guys looking back out our youth in the late 90s.

Morphin Metacast| You're Gonna Carry That Weight Hasbro
EIts the end of the year and with that comes the end of the recent Heritage Auction for the Power Rangers franchise items. CJ and Prime talk at length about it and talk about the latest toku news and happenings.

3BGPodcast| Set It Off
EHeist Cinema Winter goes on with the negro classic Set It Off. And yes this is definitely a classic. A story about sisterhood and trying to get PAID!

3BG At the Movies| Gladiator 2
E#Gladiator2 #RidleyScott #DenzelWashington As far as legacy sequels go, Gladiator 2 isn't too bad. While it doesn't hit the same highs as say Top Gun Maverick, Ridley Scott does in a way play it safe. Not a bad thing per se but same time the film hits the same story beats of the first movie. Denzel ends up stealing this movie top to bottom and he's worth it alone to go see this movie.

Comic Book Corner| Penguin (Season 1)
E#DCcomics #Batman #Penguin #HBO #WarnerBros Matt Reeves put out a solid film in The Batman and this Penguin series carries on the drama in Reeves Batman universe. CJ and Anthony talk about the journey of Osward Cobblepott as he seeks to gain a foothold in Gotham and make his presence known.

3BGPodcast| Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
EHeist Cinema Winter continues with a Guy Ritchie flick. His first movie to be exact. A movie dripping in late 90s London dialog and shenanigans.

3BGPodcast| Heat
EIt's November and it's time for 3BG to review movies that are...CINEMA...this year it's Heist movies. Cops and Robbers. Jewel thieves. People who need a lot of cash and fast. We all love them. We start off strong with the Michael Mann classic, Heat. This is jammed packed with talent in front of and behind the camera. It changed the game when it comes to shoot-outs in movies. So many working parts that ends perfectly. In the middle of recording we got news of Tony Todd passing away. R.I.P.

3BGPodcast| Get Out
EHappy Halloween 2024!!! This year we choose the Jordan Peele classic Get Out. A movie that black people felt on multiple levels, and a movie white people "understood". We talk Jordan Peele, white women, negro fears, early 2000s fashion, pornstars and the sunken place.

3BG at the Movies| Venom- The Last Dance
EThe Last Dance is here and...yeah...it was definitely a movie. Cj and DjTsu go into this last installment and why Sony needs to be stopped.

3BGPodcast| Friday the 13th Part 2
ELast time we were at Crystal Lake, Pamela Voorhees got her head chopped off after killing a bunch of teenagers. This time her son Jason will continue her tradition of killing. And as tradition we invited our best friend Moe from No Budget Nightmares to talk about Jason.

3BGPodcast| Resident Evil- Damnation
ETime for 3BG to enter the world of Biohazard again. This time we talk about the CGI movies that are far superior to it's Live Action counterpart. This movie has a Prime broken Leon Kennedy, a East Slav war zone, the biggest tyrants ever, the USA and Russia teaming up, and Capcom randomness.

3BGPodcast| Bride of Chucky
EAfter a 7 year break, Don Mancini and the gang construct a new Chucky movie made for "The New Millenium". That's 90's Boomer talk for "Gen X is gonna love this!". This time Chucky is resurrected by his hot goth serial killer girlfriend Tiffany played by the ultra MILF Jennifer Tilly. Also, the great John Ritter is in this, NICE! Katherine Heigel is in it to. I know, neat. This movie is a piece of crap, but it's a cult classic and the 3 brown guys get all up in it.

Morphin Metacast| TheAlCombo Interview
E#SuperSentai #PowerRangers #Tokusatsu #MetalHero #KamenRider CJ chops it up with Al who runs a nerd apparel business mainly focused on the toku side. And to be honest, the apparel is dope as hell. Go visit his site: https://thealcombo.com/ And also check out his other social media spots as well: https://linktr.ee/thealcombo

3BG At the Movies| Joker: Folie A Deux
E#JokerFolieADeux #Joker #ToddPhillips #DCcomics #WB #LadyGaga Studios greenlit sequels to films all the time especially when the first film is a HUGE success. In practicality, the first Joker movie should never have gotten a sequel especially with how standalone the film was and its ending. But typical of Hollywood, money talks so a sequel was greenlit. This film doesn't do a good job overall of justifying itself for existing despite the great acting, great cinematography, and good music. The story is what sinks this film on top of the juxtoposition of trying to be a musical and drama.

3BGPodcast| Rambo- First Blood
EIt's amazing how movie franchises start off so tame and heavy, then turn into action porn two movies later. Well, the Rambo series did the same and had an ACAB storyline too. The man was just passing through until the big bad sheriff wanted to treat a Nam Vet like a black man in the 1950s. They weren't ready for that Vet to be RAMBO! Just think, there are racist and Blue Lives Matter people who love this movie and learn NOTHING!

3BGPodcast| Back To The Future 3
EThe last movie of the trilogy, while not the best in the series its still pretty awesome. Everything wrapped up perfectly and time paradoxes close...sort of. We talk about it all in the final installment.

3BGPodcast| Moonfall
E3BG's worse film of 2022! Oh no! The moon is gonna kill us because it's being controlled by an ancient A.I. our ancient ancestors made during a utopian era of technology! Save us Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson and Samwell from Game of Thrones!

PowerMorphicon 2024| Erik Betts Interview
EInt#PowerRangers #PowerMorphicon2024 #PowerMorphicon #MMPR CJ got a chance to talk with Erik Betts who not only did stunts for the OG seasons of Power Rangers but also was part of the most entertaining martial arts show in WMAC Masters as Panther.

Morphin Metacast - B-Fighter Kabuto
E#BeetleborgsMetallix #BFighterKabuto #BFighter #MetalHero #Tokusatsu The sequel to B-Fighter, Kabuto takes place 5 years later and sees the previous cast teaming up with a new group of heroes that are taking on a more brutal group of villains. The guys also go over CJ's Power Morphicon experience and the latest toku news.

3BG At the Movies| The Front Room
E#TheFrontRoom #A24 #Brandy This movie is surprising in many ways. On the front end the film presents itself like a horror movie of sorts with how they go about the "Mother in law from hell" trope and yet at every turn the movie goes opposite of what we thinks its gonna go. This may throw off some folks and this also makes for a funny film of sorts. Funny in the way it leans on the goofiness of the dialogue and the scene setups.

3BG At the Movies| Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
E#Beetlejuice #BeetlejuiceBeetlejuice #MichaelKeaton #WinonaRyder So here we are 20+ years later getting a sequel to a movie that for all intents didn't feel like it left itself open to do a franchise. Like yeah the OG movie got a cartoon series but that was to be expected. This movie overall is fine and does the job of getting in and out with its straightforward plot. Everyone in this film came to have fun and Keaton is at the forefront of it playing Beetlejuice and its like he never left. Add on William Defoe stealing the film at time and you got a film thats a good time.

3BGPodcast| The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift
The third movie was supposed to be separate from the previous two. Well, things change. This movie went from being mocked to somewhat loved by the fanbase. ...somewhat. This was Justin Lin's first try at the series and he made the greatest character ever, HAN. We talk about cars, the 2000s, South Koreans, weeb culture, wooden acting, and J-Rap.

3BGPodcast| Ferngully
ESomewhere in the Australian Rain Forest, there is a land of fairies. Fairies who talk with American accents help protect and grow the rainforest. That is until...(grunt)...MAN...shows up destroying the forest. In doing so they release the evil spirit, Hexxus. The evil-chad-looking spirit that can SANG! The 3 Brown Nerds sit down to talk about this movie that wasn't a classic but every 90's kid remembers.

3BG at the Movies| The Omicron Killer
EFor the first time, 3BG talks about a Z-Grade horror movie. A movie that was made during post-covid mania, is about a killer who is just as equally late to the party. DjTsu and Dee...try, to talk about this movie. At least Angela from Sleepaway Camp is in it.

3BGPodcast| Death Wish 3
EBRONSON IS BACK! Paul at this point has basically turned into Batman. Going from city to city to kill gang members. Going back to see an old friend in New York, he's called to do the same thing.

3BG at the Movies| The Watchers
EThe apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Ishana Night Shyamalan first big movie and...we're not saying he wrote this movie but he was definitely in the room every step of the way.

3BGPodcast| Batman (1989)
EThe movie that started the whole genre...well, no but it feels like it. The 1989 classic, Batman! It's a film that was marketed strongly, acted well, and most importantly brought Batman to life. We talk about it all. The casting, the writing, the action, and The Joker!

Comic Book Corner| The Acolyte Discussion
E#TheAcolyte #StarWars #Disney #Jedi #Sith Its been awhile but we're back with the TV recaps and this time CJ & Anthony deep dive into The Acolyte and Star Wars in general because holy crap this show really brought out the nastiness in fandom and really showed the people that actually pay attention to Star Wars and those that don't.

3BG At the Movies| The Instigators
E#AppleTV #MattDamon #CaseyAffleck Apple tv to their credit has put out a good amount of quality movies and television shows. The Instigators is one of those films. Its a simple action, comedy movie that hits on the same beats that we've seen before with some deviations here and there. Also helps that Damon and Affleck have a good comradery and the supporting cast(including Ving Rhames and Ron Perlman) do a great job in the roles. Solid little Sunday afternoon flick that doesn't overstay its welcome.
