In practicality, the first Joker movie should never have gotten a sequel especially with how standalone the film was and its ending. But typical of Hollywood, money talks so a sequel was greenlit. This film doesn't do a good job overall of justifying itself for existing despite the great acting, great cinematography, and good music. The story is what sinks this film on top of the juxtoposition of trying to be a musical and drama.

It's amazing how movie franchises start off so tame and heavy, then turn into action porn two movies later. Well, the Rambo series did the same and had an ACAB storyline too. The man was just passing through until the big bad sheriff wanted to treat a Nam Vet like a black man in the 1950s. They weren't ready for that Vet to be RAMBO! Just think, there are racist and Blue Lives Matter people who love this movie and learn NOTHING!

The last movie of the trilogy, while not the best in the series its still pretty awesome. Everything wrapped up perfectly and time paradoxes close...sort of. We talk about it all in the final installment.

On the front end the film presents itself like a horror movie of sorts with how they go about the "Mother in law from hell" trope and yet at every turn the movie goes opposite of what we thinks its gonna go. This may throw off some folks and this also makes for a funny film of sorts. Funny in the way it leans on the goofiness of the dialogue and the scene setups.

Like yeah the OG movie got a cartoon series but that was to be expected. This movie overall is fine and does the job of getting in and out with its straightforward plot. Everyone in this film came to have fun and Keaton is at the forefront of it playing Beetlejuice and its like he never left. Add on William Defoe stealing the film at time and you got a film thats a good time.

The third movie was supposed to be separate from the previous two. Well, things change. This movie went from being mocked to somewhat loved by the fanbase. ...somewhat. This was Justin Lin's first try at the series and he made the greatest character ever, HAN. We talk about cars, the 2000s, South Koreans, weeb culture, wooden acting, and J-Rap.

Its a simple action, comedy movie that hits on the same beats that we've seen before with some deviations here and there. Also helps that Damon and Affleck have a good comradery and the supporting cast(including Ving Rhames and Ron Perlman) do a great job in the roles. Solid little Sunday afternoon flick that doesn't overstay its welcome.

#AlienRomulus #Alien #Aliens #Prometheus #AlienCovenant Alien: Romulus brings the franchise back to its roots after having two prequel films that honestly didn't do a good job of selling folks on the origins of the Aliens. But tbh we really didn't need an origin for Creatures from space. At any rate, Romulus is heavy on the nostalgia and callbacks and yet it does a fantastic job of being its own movie that adds to the Alien franchise lore. Definitely check it out.

Hard Target is action perfection. When you have the great John Woo making his American debut, you will get solid action. The guys talk about JCVD, Lance Freaking Hendricksen!, Shotguns and Wilford almost stealing the movie!

Forrest Gump was one of the greatest human beings that ever lived. Sure, he was a little naive and wasn't the sharpest tool in the box but he was smart as hell. He was a GOTDAMN war hero. A champion of compassion and a reason why all autistic kids are awesome. Speaking of autism! 3BG are back from their summer break! The live chat was out of control in this one and that was just adding fuel to the fire. We talked about it all, from Tom Hanks' performance to the 50s to the 80s, and Robert Zemeckis being HIM! This film lives up to its R-rating and pushes it to the limit. And even with all the crass jokes, this movie still has heart and keeps you engaged with all the shenanigans. Tons of cameos and Easter Eggs that don't overshadow what the movie is doing overall. So yeah go check out this film asap.

#Twisters #Twister #GlenPowell Twisters as a film works because while it is a sequel of sorts to the original movie, its a sequel in spirit in that it takes the basic ideas of the first film and expands on it in a way that makes it not feel redundant. Solid cast and great cinematography and vfx. Go watch this in IMAX and 4DX if you can.

#Maxxxine #Pearl #X #TiWest Director TI West managed to crack the code in developing a movie trilogy. Maxxxine functions extremely well as a standalone film if you never watch the previous two movies in this saga(X and Pearl). And as the 3rd film in the trilogy, the movie sticks the landing in terms of the overall narrative of the character Maxine. The film nails everything about the 80's so much so that you as the audience get engulfed in the era. Plus also Kevin Bacon steals the movie easily. Solid movie overall. Go check it out!

We're back with another Metal Hero show and this time we tackle Juukou B-fighter or as it was adapted in America as Big Bad Beetleborgs. In watching B-Fighter we see a show that goes raw as hell with its themes and action. Well worth the watch.

It's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but it's full of 80's and 90's action movies. Many will say this movie was ahead of its time but it's more like, it could've been better. A movie so bad it sent Arnold into a mini-depression. We talk about the highs, lows and stupid of this flick.

Bad Boys 4 much like the 3rd film, plays to the strengths that makes the films fun and entertaining by sticking with what made it work in the very first film. The movie overall doesn't overstay its welcome and it makes the film go at a very tight pace. Definitely go check it out.

The Space Oprea genre is full of copycats and big ideas that go nowhere. The Fifth Element didn't suffer from this. It took pieces from other works and made its own. While it feels very 90s, the movie oozes with a timeless charm. We talk about it all in this episode.

The third Chucky movie was proof that at the time, Don Mancini had no ideas. A movie that was written before the second movie made it to theaters and it shows. We have a time skip Andy, a military school, and Chucky isn't even following his own rules anymore. It's an insane movie that actually very entertaining. With all that being said, this episode is an instant classic.

Street Fighter the Movie was a weird moment for 90's kids. Because this movie, wasn't good, like at all. Aside from names and M.Bison suit, there was almost nothing in this movie that was in the game. Maybe it was Raul Julia, maybe it was the comedy, or maybe it was the ridiculousness of it all. But this movie is now considered a classic amongst 90's kids.

What a directorial debut from Dev Patal. Monkey Man is a very simple and violent film that much like John Wick, gets straight to the point of what it is. And what we have a straightforward revenge film that hits you in all the feels from beginning to end. Great action, great cinematography, solid musical score, and solid acting. This is worth your time to see in theaters.

Kintaro Oe may be one of the best Mary Sue's ever written. In this legendary OVA, Kintaro helps a software company, a Mayoral race, a noodle shop, a swim club, a shrine, and an animation studio. Also, the hottest ladies fall in love with him. One is a high schooler....we talk about it... Goldenboy is full of excellent 90s animation, full of fan service and full of heart. You are not a fan of anime until you watched this.

Poison Ivy is a loaded movie. The heavy question with child actors, to the filming of women, and the industry of filmmaking itself. This wasn't an easy movie to watch. We praise the acting but that's kinda where it stops. It's a rough but funny show.

#Ghostbusters #FrozenEmpire Frozen Empire ends up being a great additon to the Ghostbusters franchise in that it expands on the lore and world building of the franchise without being heavy handed on the nostalgia touches. A great mix of old and new ideas. Definitely check out this film.

With the new Roadhouse movie coming out this year, 3BG takes a look at the original 1989 movie. This movie is drenched in late 80's cool. A plot right out of an old Western. A good-looking tai-chi-knowing lead; a badass supporting character who's sexier than the lead; a bar full of rednecks; helicopters, and an evil rich man get murdered at the end. We talk about Patrick Swayze, 80's butts, Big Foot, Sam Elliott, the Razzles, and throat rearranging.

#KungFuPanda4 #Dreamworks What happens when you get a film that just exists and ultimately you end up feeling like it didn't justify itself being made? Thats Kung-Fu Panda 4 in a nutshell. Fundamentally it does its job telling a story from start to finish but you end up feeling like its lacking overall.

The first of the Metal Hero franchise, Space Sheriff Gavan is a show that ultimately is very simple and to the point with its plot and characters. Its also a show that showcases its action sequences big time in unique ways. A fun watch of a show overall.
