Between 1978 and 1992 a serial killer is believed to be responsible for the murders of 6 to 11 women. The case has been dubbed the Redhead Murders due to the similar hair color of the victims. A 47-year-old man charged with kidnapping 9-year-old Charlotte Sena at an upstate New York park and allegedly holding her in the cabinet of a camper he lived in next to his mother's home has been identified by authorities. Craig N. Ross Jr. is being held without bail Tuesday morning at the Saratoga County Correctional Facility on a charge of first-degree kidnapping, according to jail officials. Charlotte was abducted from the Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County, New York, on Saturday evening, according to New York State Police. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said that she disappeared around dinnertime on Saturday while riding her bike in the campground alone. The girl's family and other campers went looking for her, and her mother found her bike around 6:45 p.m. Saturday and called 911, police said. An Amber Alert was issued for the missing child Saturday night. An intense search involving up to 400 local, state, and federal law enforcement officers was conducted at the sprawling park. On October 27th, 1989, Fifth-grader Amy Mihaljevic went to Bay Village Middle School on Friday wearing green pants, a lavender, and a green sweatshirt, and carrying a denim and red backpack. Her body was discovered 106 days later in Ashland County and her death was ruled a homicide. Her case is the one I am the most passionate about because she was abducted about 3 miles from where I lived. 33+ years later the case is unsolved but there was a case this week that gives us hope. Cobb County police say DNA forensic testing has solved the 51-year-old cold case of the rape and murder of a Marietta third-grade girl. On Jan. 13, 1972, police say 9-year-old Debbie Lynn Randall was abducted while she was walking home from a nearby laundromat in Marietta, raped, and murdered. Officials say for more than 50 years the case has haunted investigators, and detectives have investigated hundreds of leads to no avail, leaving the case cold. Now detectives say genetic genealogy has provided some answers about who left the Randall family without their little girl. We are thrilled when we see cases like Debbie-Lynn get solved because it means there is a chance Amy Mihaljevic's case can still be solved. History Colorado holds two Ku Klux Klan membership books for the Greater Denver area and beyond. The information inside them, which was collected for administrative purposes around 1924 through 1926, dates from the peak of the Klan's influence in Colorado. Together they have nearly 30,000 entries across more than 1,300 pages that record the names and other personal details, such as home and business addresses, of people affiliated with the KKK in metropolitan Denver and other areas. That's when the suspect told the 16-year-old's grandfather, "I wouldn't go in there if I was you. I killed someone. You may need to call the police." The grandfather told investigators that it wasn't uncommon for the suspect to say "bizarre" things, Sheriff Judd said. According to authorities, the suspect has a history of using methamphetamine and has had psychotic episodes previously. Last weekend we saw another mass shooting hate crime in Jacksonville, Florida. The three victims were Angela Michelle Carr, 52; Anolt Joseph “AJ” Laguerre Jr., 19; and Jarrald De’Shaun Gallion, 29. These are becoming all too common as the insidiousness continues to spread on social media, cable news, and many, many other outlets. You had the Walmart murders in El Paso, where a Texas man killed 23 people and injured 22 more. Then, The Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, where a 46-year-old truck driver shot and killed 11 people and wounded six Back to Florida where you had the Pulse Nightclub Shooting, in 2016. A gunman shot and killed 49 people and wounded 53 others at the gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida before police shot and killed him after a three-hour standoff. In May 2022 an 18-year-old man killed 10 Black people at a Tops Friendly Markets grocery store in western New York. The gunman wrote a 180-page manifesto on racial purity before driving more than 240 miles (380 km) to Buffalo, a place where he expected to find Black people, police said. A new interagency task force including investigators from the FBI, as well as state and local police departments, will try to solve the decade-old mystery of human remains found strewn along a New York beach highway, officials announced Tuesday. The formation of the Gilgo Beach task force represents a renewed commitment to investigating the unsolved killings of mostly young women whose skeletal remains were found along a highway on Long Island, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison said. “As I said on Day One as police commissioner, I believe this case is solvable and identifying the person or people responsible for these murders is a top priority,” Harrison, who took over the top job at the Suffolk County department last month, said in a news release. 27 year old Janette Roberson was brutally murdered in Reed City, Michigan on January 19, 1983. She was working in the pet department of the store when she was severely beaten and sexually assaulted. The incident took place between 1 and 4 p.m. in the basement of Gambles store, now Reed City Hardware. Multiple Suspects Arrested in Rock Spree Homicide Part 1 Alexa Bartell: Overnight Tuesday, April 25 – Wednesday, April 26, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested three suspects in connection with the death of 20-year-old Alexa Bartell. Alexa was killed when a rock was thrown through her windshield as she was driving northbound in the 10600 block of Indiana Street at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19. Alexa’s vehicle was the last of a series of vehicles struck by large landscaping rocks in a spree that began shortly after 10:00 p.m. that night at 100th and Simms in Westminster. Since then, JCSO investigators - with assistance from Westminster Police, Arvada Police, and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office - worked around the clock to identify and arrest the suspects responsible for Alexa’s death. Packer was next seen on April 16, 1874, straggling into the Los Pinos Indian Agency with little more than a rifle and a skinning knife belonging to members of his party. Retired Special Agent, Lieutenant Rita Y. Shuler, of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is also the author of The Lowcountry Murder of Gwendolyn Elaine Fogle: A Cold Case Solved. Lieutenant Rita Y. Shuler was supervisory special agent of the Forensic Photography Department of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) for twenty-four and a half years. She interfaced with the Attorney General’s Office, solicitors and investigators, providing photographic evidence assistance in the prosecution of thousands of criminal cases. Her interest in photography started as a hobby at the age of nine with a Kodak “Brownie” camera. Before her career as a forensic photographer, she worked in the medical field as a radiologic technologist for twelve years. Her interest in forensic science evolved when she X-rayed homicide victims to assist with criminal investigations. Shuler received her specialized law enforcement photography training at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia, South Carolina, and the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. She holds a special love for the South Carolina Lowcountry and enjoys walking, beaching, crabbing, fishing and shark tooth hunting. She resides in Johns Island, South Carolina. Over the course of several months in 1982, Spisak, driven by his Nazi beliefs, killed three people at CSU - the Rev. Horace Rickerson; CSU student Brian Warford; and Timothy Sheehan, an assistant superintendent for buildings and grounds at the university. On today’s episode we are going to start a look into the Kirtland Cult Killings from 1989 in Kirtland, Ohio. Located in Lake County and only a 25 minute drive east of Cleveland the small town became a national story in January 1990. After moving to town, Lundgren became a lay minister in Kirtland for the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dale Luffman, president of the northeast Ohio chapter of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, said Lundgren worked from 1985 to 1987 at a church temple in Kirtland. Lundgren conducted tours for the public of the church's 153-year-old temple in Kirtland when he moved from Kansas City, Mo.
