With the new year already here, we thought what better way to start the year than with a cigar and glass of whiskey. This episode, we do our regular review then add a little twist by pairing it with a cigar. As you may already know, we love whiskey and enjoy a nice cigar too. The whiskey was decided based on our preference of pairing a rye whiskey with cigars, due to the stronger pallet on a rye whiskey. Our 2nd to last special episode of the year. This is a fun one as we taste test 5 of our top rated bourbons to date. The best part was we were able to blind taste them all and see if we could figure out which was which. The results were interesting and brings up a good point as to the best way to taste test multiple bourbons at the same time. After our taste test and rankings, we decided to spice it up and bring in another regular drinker of ours Knob Creek. We did a standard review for this and as always hop into our "Whiskey Talk". Woodford Reserve, a Charles favorite, takes center stage in this episode. We give an in-depth review of this well known bourbon and then discuss our topic for the week. This week's topic has deep roots and impacts time as we know it, our bi-annual time change, or better know as daylight savings time. This week we review Longbranch Kentucky Straight Bourbon by Wild Turkey. This bourbon is the result of a collaboration between Wild Turkey and Matthew McConaughey. The flavor profile is very impressive and the flavor balance is amazing for this under $30 bottle of bourbon. Following the tasting and review, we hit on a topic that many prefer to not discuss but with the recent election, we figured talking a little bit about politics would be good. Our discussion does not take sides but instead tries to bring up things that are not discussed as much. We appreciate you listening to us.
