Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 119: The Zoidberg Schism

E

In the year 2024 of our lord and savior Cthulhu, a schism in the church appeared. What was first a small group of believers with outlandish beliefs in crustaceans, quickly became one of the largest sects within our Discord. Now, in Episode 119, it is time to address this heresy and bring our brothers and sisters back in to the fold. Discord jokes aside, hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! Astro Bot is here, and it has stole the hearts of nearly all PlayStation fans and trophy hunters alike, dominating the most popular games category on PSNP since its launch. Naturally, as our most anticipated game, the boys come together to all discuss this trophy list as a group. It's no surprise that, in addition to being a fantastic and joyous game play experience, the trophy list for Astro Bot is near perfect. Featuring a good distribution, a good assortment of misc. trophies, plenty of collectibles, and most importantly no missables or NG+ trophies, the list is damn near perfect. We hope you're as excited as we are to jump in to Astro Bot, and explore the nostalgic world of Sony's past, present, and future IP. In addition to that discussion we of course have Plat shout outs and Rage God shout outs pulled directly from our Discord, multiple Patreon submitted questions, and a few topics to start off the show. What should Sony do about the Concord situation? Should the game ever come back and in what form? Will the PS5 Pro even have a SKU with a built in disc drive? Will Colin ever play Dead by Daylight? The answers are just behind the play button. Thank you for listening, and happy gaming!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 5: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

E

Welcome back lovers of all things spooky and scary, to another episode of Surviving the Horror! Released in March 2012 and developed by Slant 6 in just one year's time, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a much maligned and critiqued entry in the long standing survival horror franchise. Criticized for it's lack of polish, and disregard for the pillars of what makes up a classic Resident Evil title, Operation Raccoon City is certainly the black ship of the family. In fact, it seems that almost every time that Capcom tries to do something different in the multiplayer space with Resident Evil, the title is met with considerable challenges and fan feedback. Operation Raccoon City came from a different era of Capcom, one that hadn't seen the benefits of multiple successful titles released back to back as we've seen recently with the REmake treatments and things like Resident Evil Village. Indeed, as relayed by ORC's director Andrew Santos, Capcom was chasing a different crowd in 2012, the Call of Duty gamer. Releasing the same year as Resident Evil 6, Operation Raccoon City represented an attempt to tell a different kind of story in the Resident Evil universe, with new characters that could expand on the lore and events of the first few games. Was this attempt successful though? Well, that's a tough question to answer. Colin and Josh do their best to parse through the mechanics, story, design, and development of this misunderstood Resident Evil title. When considering the truncated development, and some of the clear love and attention to detail that went in to this title, perhaps some of the initial reactions and reviews were too harsh on the game. Come along with us on a journey through a chaotic warzone, littered with BOWs, waring political factions, and a sinister mega corporation hell bent on cleaning up any evidence of their involvement. It may not be the best Resident Evil title, but we think you'll have plenty of fun along the way. Thank you for listening, and enjoy! We will be back next month with September's game, Still Wakes the Deep!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 118: Mistakes Were Made

E

Hello everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. Wow, what a time in the gaming landscape. With so many solid titles already out this year, and the fall release schedule quickly approaching with major AAA titles, the boys have been getting through some smaller games in their backlogs and preparing for the storm. Along with the Trophy Talk Survivor event going on in the Discord, it's been a very busy time for our community to say the least. Our opening discussions this episode center on the fact that we have finally gotten confirmation that Indiana Jones is coming to PS5 in the Spring of 2025, adding to the growing list of amazing looking titles coming out next year. What does this mean for what other games we could see coming? Excluding the obvious choices of Halo and Gears, what other titles would we hope make the jump to the PS5? From there we have our plat shout outs, and offerings to Cthulhu, our resident rage god. Great work as always by the whole community in your recent trophy hunts! Patreon questions this episode ask us to examine our favorite intros in games, and our favorite sound tracks while closely analyzing which specific trophies in lists make us say "Nah" when going for Platinums. Lastly, we get into what we've been playing. Colin returns once again to RE6 in his quest to Platinum all of the mainline RE games, Darryl contributes to this as well with his playthrough of RE Remake HD, and his continued adventures in Yakuza Kiwami. Josh rounds out the cast with a good discussion of his time with Concord so far, as well as a handful of PSVR2 titles! Is Concord doomed to fail? Does it deserve the apathy its been receiving lately? Perhaps not, but where does one find the time to fit in a game like Concord in a market with so many other titles vying for your time? Thanks so much for listening, and we hope you enjoy! Take care!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 117: Salad Kick

E

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! On this fateful August evening, Darryl, Josh, and Colin gather round to discuss new trophy lists on the horizon for all the eager trophy hunters out there. Indeed, although we haven't quite hit the craziness that will be the Fall of 2024 with its major releases nearly ever week, we still have some indie gems, and lesser known titles that are being consistently released for our enjoyment. As it turns out, and as has been the case with some of our other recent episodes, there's something so appealing about these smaller indie titles and the way they organize their trophy lists. The lists for this episode include, Nobody Wants to Die, Flock, and The Mortuary Assistant. Before all that though, as is customary here on Trophy Talk, we have shout outs to get to (namely for platinum trophies earned in our Discord community), and any affronts to our lovely Cthulhu AKA The Rage God. As it turns out, you all, our community have been incredibly busy with some truly impressive trophy hunts over the past few weeks, so congratulations to all of you out there on your journeys! We also dive into a few Patreon submitted questions, one of which asks if our fellow two co-hosts could earn what we dub as our hardest platinum trophies earned. This was a great question as it forced us to consider platinum trophies and games that might not be as hard statistically, but that could pose problems for our co-hosts specifically! But that's not all! What are your stances on salads? Does the planet Venus give Darryl flashbacks to a time of horror and misery? You'll have to listen to find out. Thank you so much, and take care!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 4: Dead Space Remake

E

Welcome one and all to episode 4 of Surviving the Horror, our monthly video game podcast all about survival horror games! We hope that you've enjoyed the previous episodes, and of course that you enjoy this one. In 2023 Motive Studio released a remake of one of the most beloved survival horror games of all time, Dead Space. Originally developed by Visceral games, and released in 2008, the original Dead Space is often praised for it's fantastic atmosphere, visceral combat, and intriguing space horror story. Seeing as Colin had only played the original once, and Josh had never played the game beyond its opening chapters, we felt it was only right to sit down and discuss the newest iteration of a genre classic. Innovating on ideas first introduced in Resident Evil 4, Alien, The Thing, and many other horror games and films, Dead Space tells a tale that mixes body horror and religious fanaticism in a way that very few things before it ever have. The end result is a story that's worth your time, and a game that is unrelenting in its pursuit of making you scared. Thank you for listening, and take care all!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 116: Carnage X Cthulhu

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. This time we're joined by Maximum Carnage, from all the way across the great pond. Sitting in the UK, besieged by a police helicopter and 6 pints of beer, Max joins us to give his take on some of the more recent games he's been playing, the origins of the Rage God in our Discord, and his adventures in Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy! Darryl and Josh are also here of course to provide their insight on topics including what our current game of the year is before heading into a busy release schedule in the Fall, hot takes in gaming meant to ruffle some feathers, and weird rituals around the care and maintenance of our homes. On top of all of that we get into what we've been playing which is fact quite a lot! Max continues his massive journeys through the Tomb Raider Remastered Collection, and FF7 Rebirth. Josh gets his investigative hat on with Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter, Rise of the Ronin, and a return to FF16 for NG+ and the DLC. Darryl makes Colin a very proud man indeed by finally getting to Resident Evil Remake HD, as well as Death's Door. Colin brings up the rear with some quick and fun plats from the PS Classic Collection in Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, and Daxter. We hope that you enjoy this episode, and thank you so much for listening! The next episode released on our feed will be Episode 4 of Surviving the Horror which will be releasing in a few days time. Take care and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 115: Bustin Makes Us Feel Good

E

Well hello there dear listener, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In episode 115 we have some more trophy lists to review for your consideration as well as all the normal run of the show including Patreon topics, and shout outs to our fantastic community members and the platinum's they've earned in the past two week period! The game's this episode run the gambit. First, Josh reviews the list for the upcoming Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, a game that appears to take a refreshing stance on some storied mechanics in Souls games. Strangely the price point for Flintlock is much lower than we would have imagined as well which points to this experience being shorter (which is a good thing). Next up Darryl reviews the first person narrative horror game Still Wakes the Deep, developed by The Chinese Room, a studio in Scotland... who would have guessed! The game looks great though, and being a first person narrative spin on horror, is one that's right up Darryl's alley. Lastly, Colin takes us to the era of the Viking in Volgarr the Viking II, an 80s arcade inspired action side scroller known for its brutal difficulty and demanding mechanics. While this game is short, and seemingly simple, the first Volgarr was one of the hardest games that Colin has ever played. As noted, this episode of course features some Platinum shout outs from our Discord, appeals to our Rage God, and answers to your Patreon submitted questions. What is our favorite animation in all of gaming? What PS2 classics do we want brought to the PS4 and PS5 next? Do our spouses ever help us earn trophies, or accidentally make us miss a trophy at the last second? Only the play button has the answers. Thank you for listening, and enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 114: Giblets

E

Hey there listeners! Finally, after a month of travel and conflicting schedules all three hosts from the Trophy Talk crew are back together under one roof to talk gaming, and what they have been playing. It's an exciting time indeed as Darryl, Josh, and Colin have all made some pretty significant progress on a number of title across June, even if it felt like a slow month in terms of new releases. Before we get to the game's we're playing though we touch on the end of the raffle event over in our Discord, as well as answer some Patreon submitted questions. These topics include what songs make us want to dance, what the best flavor of ice cream is, if we've ever almost had our consoles taken away from us as a punishment, and our biggest disappointments in DLC releases. Has Josh found a new challenge to go for on his profile with the release of more and more classic games to the PS Premium catalog? Is Darryl in fact rooting for the Green team in House of the Dragon Season 2? Is Colin actually going to play Shadow of the Erdtree? Only the play button has the answers. Thank you for listening, and happy gaming!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 3: Crow Country

E

What happens when a small team with a passion for PS1 survival horror games, takes a chance and creates their own love letter to the genre? Crow Country, that's what. Crow Country, from SFB Games, is one of the most loving and caringly crafted homages to PS1 survival horror that Colin and Josh have ever played. Granted they may not have played many, but the point still stands. This game is marvelous in almost every way, from the atmosphere, to the puzzles and inventory, to the background story at play. Crow Country is certainly a game that any fan of the survival horror genres should play, and one we are incredibly happy to talk about on Surviving the Horror. Thank you for listening, and we hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 113: Converts?!

E

Well well well, look at what we have here. After the boys were a bit hard on Xbox for some of their most recent business moves and studio closures, Xbox came back and delivered what has to be one of the best showcases in recent history. With the showcase came a litany of great game announcements and trailers, many of which are coming to PS5. Naturally we start off the show by discussing some of these titles that are coming over, and what the showcase means for our feelings and thoughts on Xbox as a whole. Truth be told, it certainly made us more inclined to check out the Xbox ecosystem in the recent weeks as we wait for more PS titles to come out later this Summer. From there Josh and Colin move on to discuss a topic submitted via Patreon. Just what is the "correct" way to play a video game? Are we as trophy hunters robbing ourselves of intended experiences by using video and text guides? The short answer is, it depends, but we get into much more detail and try to parse out the truth which lies somewhere in the middle. Finally Josh reviews a PS classic title that recently got trophies added to it in Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, and Colin talk about the shadow drop of a DLC Pack 2 for Astro's Playroom. Is this a brilliant way to market the upcoming Astro Bot title and drive excitement, or is a huge annoyance to the trophy hunting community and those who strive for the full 100%? As always the reality is it's both. Thank you so much listening, and take care!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 112: Astro Bot to the Rescue

E

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In episode 112, we see Josh and Colin get together to discuss the plethora of games they have been playing across the month of May. Some of these titles are smaller, and more recently discussed, such as Titan Chaser, while others are a bit more of surprising deep cut. Overall though, as you can guess, the boys have been quite busy! Before getting into all those games though, the team takes some time at the top of the episode to go over all the recent game announcements from the Sony State of Play. As you no doubt guessed from the thumbnail and the title, we were all thrilled at the announcement of Astro Bot, and luckily we don't have long to wait until we play it! What about the other titles though? Did anything else jump out to us from the swathe of new titles? Well, yes and no. Lastly, Josh and Colin field some Patreon submitted questions, shout of some platinum trophies earned by community members, and invoke Cthulhu / the rage god once again. Thank you all so much for listening, happy gaming and take care!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 2: Condemned: Criminal Origins

E

Hello and welcome everyone to episode 2 of Surviving the Horror! In this episode Colin and Josh take a look at the Xbox 360 era launch title Condemned: Criminal Origins. Developed by Monolith Productions, and published by SEGA, Condemned released as a launch title on Xbox 360 in November of 2005. The game has some great atmosphere, sound design, and overall atmosphere while mixing in some visceral first person melee combat and exploration. In many ways Condemned was ahead of its time, and it holds up beautifully to this day. We hope that you enjoy, and thank you so much for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 111: Reverse Uno Card

E

Hello there everyone, Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this week's episode, we actually start off with something a little different. In general we try to stay away from gaming news conversations on the show. It's not because we don't have things to say on the big topics of the day but it's more in an effort to let the podcasts that handle these things do so. We're not a news show and never have been so at times it feels like why would anyone want to hear from us on these things? This time though we had the time and space in the show to allow for a larger conversation about what has been going on over recent months with Xbox, and our thoughts on the future of Game Pass, the Xbox brand, and so much more. After a healthy discussion on the news surrounding recent studio closures, financial data, and console sales, the boys then go on a major tangent and discuss pizza. What toppings, sauces, styles do we think make for the perfect slice? You can't go wrong of course, but can you go right? Is there truly a best way to enjoy pizza? Lastly Colin , Darryl, and Josh each bring a trophy list to review, and oddly enough all of the lists this week have great distributions, and great concepts for their design. Take that Remedy and Alan Wake 2! You can keep all your bronzes =) Colin breaks down what appears to be a fairly straightforward and forgiving list for an online free to play FPS in XDefiant. Darryl gets into some Kaiju hunting and walking sim vibes with his exploration of Titan Chaser, and Josh takes us back to survival horror roots on the PS1 with Crow Country. All of these games seem great, and they're all available to trophy hunt in now on the PSN. Thanks very much for listening to the show, and take care! - Trophy Talk Crew

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 110: Praise Cthulhu

E

Hey there gamers. It's that time again, time that we welcome back Patthetrophyhunter for his 3rd visit to the Trophy Talk Podcast. Pat has been one of our longest standing community members and it's always great to hear from him about his trophy hunting journeys and adventures up in Canada. In particular this episode we have some great discussions about the PS Portal, about how we deal with new gaming habits once kids are in the mix, and what games Pat plans on using the infamous racing wheel for in the future. Speaking of kids, Josh has had his third child very recently so congratulations are in order! Some of our listener questions this week focus on this news and the balance / juggling act of trying to play appropriate games when kids are running all over the house. In addition to those topics we cover things like Metal music, the rage gods, the rise of Cthulhu, and what franchise or game series we want to hop in to but feel intimidated by. That's not all we discuss though of course as this is a what we've been playing episode after all. In honor of Star Wars day (we recorded this episode on May 4th) , Colin discusses Star Wars: Dark Forces Remastered in all its boomer shooter glory before taking a trip to Runeterra and the Freljord to talk about Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story. Both of these games are fun, short experiences that you can platinum in a weekend with little to no guide needed. What's not to like? Josh has been playing lots of course but highlights his time spent with Remedy's Alan Wake II, and just how intriguing of a survival horror experience the game is. Last but not least, Pat talks about Rollerdrome and his trials and tribulations chasing the 100% on GTA V. With over 350 hours in the game so far and likely another 50 to go, the game is a behemoth to 100%. Who better equipped for the task than Pat? Thank you for listening, and take care!

Surviving the Horror - Episode 1: Deadly Premonition

E

Hey there listeners! Welcome to the inaugural episode of Surviving the Horror (StH). This is a show that Josh and I (Colin) have been toying around with for a while in the background and we're excited to finally be able to launch it. The idea here is that once a month we will sit down to playthrough and discuss a survival horror game. The game can be from any console / ecosystem, it can be old or new, good or bad, it really doesn't matter as long as it's survival horror. After we play through it we'll sit down and discuss the story , the characters, the gameplay systems, soundtrack etc. and try to come to a determination of whether or not the game is truly a survival horror game. For our first episode we're diving back in time to 2010 and the Xbox 360 release of Deadly Premonition. Developed by Access Games and directed by Hidetaka "Swery" Suihiro, Deadly Premonition has long gained attention for it's strange setting and characters, tonal shifts, and at times completely bonkers design decisions. However, among survival horror fans the game has also garnered a cult like following of sorts and is often cited as one of the most interesting horror games one can play. After spending 20 hours or so with the game, I think we can confidently say that this one is worth a look. We hope you enjoy the discussion and thank you for listening.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 109: Bierzone

E

Hello there everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. This week it's just Josh and Colin on the show and Darryl was taking some much needed R&R after a busy week. Don't worry though, there's still much to discuss and banter about for you folks. As this episode is a list review episode Josh and Colin pulled together what we believe are two of the coolest PSN releases of the year in Harold Halibut, and Dave the Diver. Dave the Diver had previously been released on other platforms but is finally seeing it's debut on the PSN, and to great success. Indeed as I (Colin) write this it appears that roughly half of my friends list on PlayStation has become obsessed with the game. I predict tales of fishing, and Sushi coming very soon for us all. The other title, Harold Halibut, is a smaller title from Slow Bros. Slow Bros is a German company that caught my eye because they employ not only the traditional swath of jobs associated with game development, but also things like a carpenter, and textile worker. Why you might ask? Well, it's because Harold Halibut is truly a Claymation style , stop motion adventure game. Set on an alien planet and boasting some truly strange and wonderful ideas, Harold Halibut is one to look out for. In addition to those list discussions Josh and Colin dive into a couple of Patreon submitted questions on topics of how we deal with the backlog / missed games from Sony's earlier generations, and how we tend to approach which version of a game to play when we get both a PS4 and PS5 version upon purchase. Both of these are topics that have been brought up in our community a fair number of times and it was nice to weigh in on these with our own personal takes. We hope that you all enjoy the show and thank you so much for listening. Take care, and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 108: Don't Boost With Friends

E

Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to another episode of Trophy Talk! The crew has assembled in Episode 108 to talk all about what we've been playing and trophy hunting in for the past month or so. Before we get there though the top of the show opens with an interesting discussion on what constitutes a spoiler. Does the definition change depending on the cultural pervasiveness of the IP? Does it change based on the medium of the story? Is it fair to deem mechanics as spoilers? We discuss it all. Additionally, Josh brings Colin and Darryl up to speed on a recent legal case involving a YouTuber, Ubisoft, and the closure of The Crew's servers. As far as what we've been playing Josh takes us to medieval France in A Plague Tale: Requiem, and sings the praise of Jon Bernthal in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Darryl links up with the rebel resistance movement in Star Wars: Squadrons and hunts collectibles in Tchia. Colin nears the end of his long grind with Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Mode, and Call of Duty: MW3. The biggest question though, is should you boost with strangers, or with friends?

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 107: Rise of Tsushima

E

Hey there trophy hunters! Welcome back to another episode of TTP! Every once in a while one of those games comes along that seems to be in the zeitgeist in our community. One of those games where many people appear to be playing it, and going back to it for trophies at the same time. We've had this before with things like Battlefield 1, Rogue Company, and most notably Fall Guys. This time though, that game is Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch's 2020 Samurai open world adventure game and its attached "Legends" game mode. At the same time, one of the biggest releases of the month comes to us in the form of Rise of the Ronin, developed by Team NINJA. The funny thing is, not only do these games share a similar aesthetic due to their setting and subject matter, but the trophy lists for these games appear to follow very similar structures. Is this due to the general philosophy behind designing open world games? Or is it due more to Sony's influence acting as publisher for Rise of the Ronin this go around? In addition to Rise of the Ronin the team also looks at a gorgeous and seemingly great indie game trophy list with Planet of Lana, a game that came to Xbox and Game Pass last year but is finally migrating over to PlayStation in April. Last but not least we examine and review Alone in the Dark's trophy list. The long dormant survival horror series developed by Pieces Interactive is back, and while the reviews are varied and run the full spectrum of opinions, perhaps the most cardinal sin the game commits is that upon launch it's platinum trophy is unobtainable. All of this and more is just behind the play button, thank you so much for listening, and happy gaming! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 106: Grapes of Wrath ft. Kevin Garaventa

E

Hello there everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode we're joined by Kevin Garaventa of the PS Plus Games Club to talk about all things trophies. We start off by tackling the recent discussion around Spiderman 2's NG+ trophy and the debug menu that was mistakenly left in the game post patch by Insomniac. Is it cheating to get a NG+ trophy in this way? What even is the point of these NG+ trophies that seem to be the standard from Sony? From there we once again talk distribution and the seeming lack of effort from many developers to even utilize anything other than Bronze trophies in their lists. After that we get into your Patreon submitted questions which touch on our jobs and any struggles with addiction. We close out the episode with what we've been playing, as well as a segment that analyzes a full year of using PS Plus Premium? Is the highest tier service on PS+ worth your time and money? The statistics may surprise you. Thanks so much for listening, and enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 105: Spreading Democracy

E

The damns have broken! In what the Trophy Talk crew hopes is the beginning of a new era, Xbox has decided in recent weeks to bring over four select titles to the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch ecosystems. The first of these titles is Pentiment, a small passion project from Obsidian that focuses on a style and type of game that we don't see regularly these days. Naturally much of the discussion this week at the top of the show, and in the reviews section focuses on Pentiment. How did Obsidian do in creating their first trophy list? Are the pricing, the artwork, and the naming conventions up to snuff? Turns out that for the most part, they are! Slugger also brings a new release to talk about this week in Pacific Drive. A smaller title from a group of developers who previously worked on things like League of Legends, and Halo 4, Pacific Drive is a game that merges rogue like elements (the hottest genre in gaming right now it seems), with pieces of an open world racing / car game. The results are a game and trophy list that appear to be well worth considering. The question is if anyone will have time for this type of game in between some of the biggest releases of 2024. In addition to all of that, Slugger and Colin answer your various Patreon submitted questions including school yard rumors, which franchises we would kill off, and trophy milestones. Thank you so much for listening, and take care!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 104: Noodle Arms

E

What's going on folks, we hope that you are all doing well! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. As you can tell from the thumbnail and the title of the episode, Colin has been attempting to work out more. While his efforts haven't been necessarily successful, they did involve him getting some more time at the gym, and the boys discuss that at the top of the show briefly before getting into some gaming and trophy news and statistics. As always with our shows, what's in store for you listeners are some great shout outs of content creators in our community, and Platinums earned by our Discord. On top of that we have some questions surrounding the use cases and desire to play or get into more Mobile Gaming, and VR with the PSVR2. Are Darryl and Colin ever going to see the light with these pieces of tech and hardware? Probably not, but the PSVR2 has some great games coming to it, announced at the most recent Sony State of Play. After the shout outs and questions, we get into what we've been playing. Slugger continues to be obsessed with (rightly so) Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Colin and he also touch on their experience CoD: Black Ops 3, and MW3 Zombies. Colin also has some choice words to say about Returnal, a game that has a great many things to love about it but at the same time is an absolute nightmare for trophy hunting. Finally, Darryl continues to burn through amazing Indie games and this episode sees him touch on quite a few of those in addition to Yakuza Kiwami, and Dead Space Remake. All in all this episode felt great to discuss and record. As always we appreciate your support and any feedback you may have to help make the show better. Thank you so much for listening, happy gaming, and take care! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 103: First Class to Kamurocho

E

Well hello hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! This episode sees a return to the normal run of the show, after what has been a fairly hectic week for a few of the hosts. Slugger fills us in on his most recent escapades to see the Bills play during the play offs, and Colin and Darryl are going through a rather slow period at work. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean that it's harder to get in the normal routine and rhythms of life. That being said, we've got a banger episode for you all, so thanks so much for tuning in and listening. For starters we have a few housekeeping items to go over which include the start of the next competition and Discord raffle beginning February 1st, Colin's most recent guest appearance on PS Plus Game Club, and the announcement that Pat and Kevin will be back on as guests on the show in the near future. From there we get into our Patreon submitted questions which range from the goofy to the profound. On the profound side, the boys try to come up with their 5 most proud platinum trophies in their whole collection while also keeping in mind if these are games that we can recommend to the wider trophy hunting audience. After that we discuss things like our preference with flying first class or for free, what video game character we want to smell like, and what our favorite TV shows and cartoons were growing up. As it turns out two of the hosts were Nickelodeon kids while one was firmly in the camp of Cartoon Network... can you guess who? Last but not least the guys each bring a trophy list to review and discuss. Darryl continues to go hard on indie games and brings forth Cub, a fairly new release which he just so happens to have a great deal of love for. If you couldn't tell from the thumbnail and title, Slugger goes deep into the analysis of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and it's Day 1 DLC for NG+. Last but not least Colin takes a look at just why the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake lists keeps popping up every so often on PSNP. Is this game ever going to come out? Thanks so much for listening, we we hope you enjoy! Happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 102: Controller Mayhem & DLC Pack 2: FF16

E

Hello hello there everyone! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode we're doing something slightly different. Normally the crew pre-records one episode a year so that we can release it around the holidays in December, and take a few weeks off from work and the show. However, this year, we didn't do that. As a result we thought we'd try to take a small break here in the beginning of the year. It didn't feel fair to only put out a spoiler cast though, as some of you reading this / listening maybe haven't played FF16, or have no interest in it. So, what we decided to do was record a normal show all the way up through answering Patreon submitted questions, and then, instead of doing trophy list reviews, we'd stitch on our FF16 spoiler cast. Our discussion of FF16 was recorded months ago, as you can tell from the speculation about potential DLCs for the game which were later announced at the 2023 Game Awards. Even still, I think it's one of the best discussions and break downs of the game I've seen. We sincerely hope that you enjoy it, and a special thank you to Max for lending a hand with this one! If you don't have any interest in the spoiler cast don't worry. As noted, the first 1 hour and 40 minutes of the show are unchanged and still involve housekeeping items, plat shout outs, Patreon shout outs, and answers to this episode's Patreon submitted questions. Thank you all so much for listening to the show! Please leave us any feedback you may have in the comments, or in the Discord as we're always striving to improve and get better. Much love, happy gaming, and take care =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 101: One More Run

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk. This is the final episode for 2023, and what a year it has been! This time around the crew is back to talk about what games we've been playing over the past month or so. Just like the earlier parts of the year, the last few months have seen so many great releases that it's been tough to keep up. So just what have the guys been up to recently in the realm of PlayStation? Well it turns out that there's quite a bit of overlap between them. Slugger, Darryl, and Colin both give there thoughts on trophy hunting in Spiderman 2, and in God of War: Ragnarok's free DLC, Valhalla. On top of that Slugger has been playing Marvel's Midnight Suns, Tchia, and a few others. Darryl has finally gone back and platinumed God of War: Ragnarok, and Colin digs deep into his backlog to discover the gem that is Shadow of the Colossus. In addition to all of that we have some platinum shout outs, pulled from our great community over on Discord. We have some interesting Patreon submitted questions which cause us to try and asses the strength of various streaming services we subscribe to, and we also finally tease the new Discord trophy hunting game, which will be launching on February 1st. Thank you so much for listening, and have a great end of the year. Cheers to 2024!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 100: Triple Digits

E

Well hello there everybody and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! That's right, we've made it; we've arrived at the centennial episode. Truthfully we can't believe it. We've been doing the show now consistently for over three years and are just blown away that we somehow still have people who listen to us and care about what we have to say. The truth is the show wouldn't be here at all without the support of you, the listener, and our fans. While we're a small community, all of us here at Trophy Talk Podcast, are proud of what we've been able to do, and the group of people we've brought together. So whether you've been here since day one, or are a more recent listener, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to talk about gaming, and the things we love. This episode is of course a bit of a nostalgic one. If you couldn't tell from the thumbnail, Eli makes a return for the first portion where we reflect on the year, and answer some Patreon questions that have us looking back on past shenanigans and shows. We talk about some of our favorite moments, our favorite episodes, and our hopes and dreams for what's to come. To wrap up the show Darryl, Slugger, and Colin each provide their top three games they trophy hunted in this year and award them Bronze, Silver, and Gold trophies respectively. This was a fun episode, as all of them are. Thank you again so much for listening, for reading, and engaging in our community. Happy gaming everyone. We'll see you in Episode 101.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 99: The Penultimate

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk. That's right, we're back, with the one before episode 100. We've been doing the show for over 3 years now and are finally two weeks away from a huge milestone. Firstly, we all wanted to say thank you if you're a listener, whether you're new or have been with us for the entire journey, we greatly appreciate your support. For our Patrons, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you as well for making sure that the show stays fresh, that we have new ideas and events in the Discord, and for your support. Now, this episode features some banger questions from our Patrons and those discussions take up the bulk of the first two hours of the show. Our topics here include looking at our own PSN profiles pages and seeing what we value most in them, coming up with picks for our fellow hosts to go after in their backlogs, our first platinum memories, and many others. Additionally, we get into some fun trophy list reviews with Lords of the Fallen, Habroxia, and Thirsty Suitors. Other than some wonky distribution with Lords of the Fallen (seriously what is going on with developers the last few months), the games all appear to have great lists with varying degrees of difficulty. Let us know if you decide to check any of them out! Cheers to 99 episodes, we'll see you in a few weeks for Episode 100 where we'll enjoy some beers and reflect on our favorite trophy hunts of 2023. Happy gaming, and thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast: DLC Pack 1 - AC: Mirage Discussion and Review ft. TheSlyGCooper

E

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the first official Trophy Talk Podcast review and spoiler cast episode. We hope to be able to bring you many more of these in the future! This first episode centers around the most recent title from the Assassin's Creed universe, AC: Mirage. Joining Colin on this episode is a long time community member, supporter, and friend of the show, Gary aka TheSlyGCooper. In this episode we do of course get into spoilers and a deep discussion of 9th century Baghdad, the combat, the visuals, and gameplay mechanics, and of course the story. However, the first 30 minutes or so we take our time talking about our history with the AC universe and the previous games in the franchise. There's quite a bit to love in this newest entry from Ubisoft, but there's also a good deal to critique. We hope that you enjoy this episode, and thank you so so much for your support!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 98: Slugger Recommends*

E

Hello there everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk, your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show. In this episode, Colin, Slugger, and Darryl give you updates on some of the fantastic games and trophy hunts they've been taking part in as we quickly approach the end of what has been an amazing year for games. Colin regales us with tales of Baghdad in Assassin's Creed: Mirage, and touches on his time with Alan Wake Remastered. Slugger gets time with one of his favorite all time franchises in Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name. Darry is the only lucky one in the group who has gotten a chance to platinum Spiderman 2 already, and has finally started his playthrough of God of War: Ragnarok. Yes, after almost a year of sitting on his shelf at home, he's finally ready to tackle one of last years greatest stories and trophy hunts. That's not all though! The crew also gives there thoughts on the recent nominees for Game of the Year to come out of The Game Awards. As noted above, this year was quite the banger with new game releases, do the nominees truly capture that greatness? Last but not least we of course answer our Patreon submitted questions. What game would we want to remake entirely if we had creative control? What difficult platinums and trophies are we planning on going after in the future? All of that and more behind the play button. Thank you for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 97: The Call of Duty Fiasco

E

Hello there everybody and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! The crew has got some pretty damn interesting lists to review for you this week as for some reason, developers seem to have forgotten what things like platinum trophies and a good distribution are. As you can see from the thumbnail, one of the main games and topics we discuss is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Just what exactly was Activision thinking by giving only the PS4 version of the game a Platinum, and the PS5 version simply popping as a DLC for Modern Warfare 2? It seems insane to us, and really doesn't bode well for the future yearly releases of the blockbuster franchise. On top of that we discuss Alan Wake 2. While the game seems to be in the running for game of the year, and is reviewing extremely well, its distribution and overall approach to its trophy list design seems a bit odd to say the least. Lastly we also take a look at the Ghostrunner 2 trophy list, and compared to the first two games we talk about, the list is marvelous! Before all that though we have some hot topics and house keeping to go over, some platinum shout outs from our Discord, and of course your Patreon submitted questions. This was a fun one to record, and we hope you enjoy listening to us discuss. Thanks so much for checking out the show, leave us a review if you feel so inclined, and happy gaming =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 96: The Boys Design a Showcase

E

Hey there fellow trophy hunters, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! We've got a long one in store for you all today, as the what we've been playing discussions are dominated by both Slugger and Darryl, who have truly been putting in some work and playing tons of games. Colin chimes in with some updates on FF16 and his experiences with RE4 Remake's Separate Ways DLC as well! At the top of the show though we have a discussion around PS+ essential and when you should add the free games to your library vs not, as well as announcing the winners of the race! For Patreon topics this week we talk about the worst games we've ever platinumed, and design our very own PlayStation showcase with the help of MaximumCarnage. What 12 game announcements would we pick for such a showcase in a post Jim Ryan world? You'll just have to listen to find out! Thank you all so much for listening and for your support. Happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 95: AC Mirage, Lies of P, Spiderman 2

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of trophy hunting discussion, and gaming goodness. In this one, the boys are reunited and ready to discuss some of the biggest gaming releases of the year. That's right, not only is it Spooktober but the month we've long discussed where some of our favorite franchise release their newest iterations, in hopes of capturing our imaginations and trophy hunting attention. We're please to say that all three games we look at in this episode have solid lists, that pay homage to not only other games in their respective franchises, but to their inspirations as well. The first bit of the show sees us discussing some platinum shout outs from the Discord community, and hearing tales of Slugger's recent travels. From there we spend a little time going over some top 25 lists, and what moments from games have truly scared us. The second hour and some change is all about the aforementioned trophy lists. So sit back, relax and enjoy some discussion about AC Mirage, Lies of P, and Spiderman 2's trophy lists. The crew is all very excited to get their hands on these games sometime in the near future, that's for sure! Happy gaming, and thanks for listening.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 94: An "Eikonic" Discussion

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. This marks the very first occassion that Darryl and Colin have ever done a duo podcast together, which is crazy considering we're three years into doing this show. Regardless, we relished at the opportunity to discuss gaming, and take a break from a very busy period of work. We start off the episode with a little mini break down of the most recent Resident Evil 4 Remake DLC, Separate Ways, which came out on the day of recording the episode. As massive RE fans this DLC is intriguing as it brings back the classic challenge that we know and love in these trophy lists, but does so in a bite sized $10 package. From there we get into Platinum shout outs and Patreon shout outs before moving on to some questions submitted by the listeners! Topics include, what games we were highly anticipating that didn't live up to our own hype, what the last game we would choose to tackle on our backlog would be, and if we have any recommendations for new Switch owners. To close out the show we talk about what we've been playing. Much of this time Colin spends trying to convince Darryl, (and anyone else who will listen), to buy and play FF16. It's a fantastic game of course but in addition to that, the trophy hunt and list is extremely well designed! Darryl then chimes in with updates on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as a bit of an update on Star Wars: Squadrons, and Inside. Thank you so much for listening ,and we hope you enjoy the show!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 93: Backlog Blues

E

Come along with us dear listeners on a journey, a journey through the backlogs of three men in the midst of what may be the busiest period of high quality AAA releases in the past 5 years. In this episode, Slugger, Darryl, and Colin all try to distill down their backlogs to five essential picks that they feel the most compelled to actually go back and clean up. With October quickly approaching and bringing AC: Mirage, Spiderman 2, and many other games between now and then, it seemed the perfect time to try and think about a good strategy for approaching our backlog in the coming months. On top of all that discussion we also go over Patreon submitted questions! Topics include how we would mash up a genre and existing IP in a new way, our proposed TV adaptations of a known game series, and what the best all time mini game is in gaming. We thank you all for listening to show, it truly means a great deal to us. Happy gaming =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 92: Quack!!

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this , our 92nd episode, the crew has gathered to discuss what we've been playing for the past few weeks which include some real quackers if you know what we're saying. For starters though, we provide an update on our trophy hunting race over in our Discord, which by the time you're hearing this, is nearing completion! From there we take a second to pause and reflect on our gaming goals for the year. Have we been tackling our backlogs as much as we wanted? Are we still as focused on upping our completion percentage as we were at the start of the year? The results vary of course! After that we get into our Patreon submitted questions which cover topics such as PlayStation Stars on console, what we think the biggest flop out of PlayStation and Sony is in recent years, and what our favorite console from Sony has been. We end the show with what we've been playing with games ranging from Untitled Goose Game, TMNT: Shredders Revenge, Final Fantasy 6, Quake 2, and much more. Thank you so much for your support and for listening to our show, we hope you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 91: Quad Machine

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another episode of your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show! On this week's episode the gang is back down to it's core three member show and has a lot to catch up on. Darryl has been hitting the gym regularly and is feeling nice and beefed up, ready to regale us all with tales of TMNT Mutant Mayhem, as well as a trophy list review for a musical RPG in the same style as older Telltale Games. That's right, he's talking about Stray Gods! Slugger meanwhile brings forth Remnant 2 for discussion, and the crew is generally very impressed with how straightforward the trophy list seems. Colin rounds out the trophy list reviews with Quake 2, another surprise release from Quakecon 2023. But does this game's trophy list hold up when compared to the original remaster? Well in short, no. The trophy list is bland and simple, devoid of most creativity. That doesn't mean that Colin won't be picking it up and playing it though, as his obsession with boomer shooters continues to grow. On top of all that the team discusses what games we would want to trophy hunt in first if for some reason we had to start all over, and what we would want PSNP and Discord to do to help show off more of our favorite series and Platinum's. Thank you to all the Patreon supporters of the show, and thank you all so much for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 90: The One With Maxximum Carnage

E

Hello and welcome everybody, to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! As you could tell from the title and from the thumbnail, we've got another special guest for you this episode. We're joined all the way from the UK by Maxximum Carnage! Max is a long time member (3 years ish) of our Discord and podcast community, and an avid lover of all things Final Fantasy. It seemed fitting that he should join us for this episode where we talk about what we've been playing and dig deep into Final Fantasy 16. One thing to note, even though Max and Slugger talk for some 40 minutes about the game, no plot points or details are spoiled and the conversation is kept largely to generalities, and the trophies. That discussion is at the end of the show though so what comes first? Well as we've talked about for a few episodes now, this episode features the final round of the trophy guessing game, where Slugger and Darryl see if they can end up with more points than Colin. Additionally, the crew goes into Patreon submitted questions concerning our goals for the future of Trophy Talk, what other Podcast ideas we have, and if we look forward to the PS+ essential, extra, or premium announcements most. This is our longest episode to date but we had a blast recording it, and hope that you enjoy listening. Thank you all, and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 89: Gylty Conscious

E

Well hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk. For the first time in over a month, the original crew is back together to discuss all your Patreon submitted questions, trophy related news stories, and an assortment of newly released trophy lists. This episode featured some great thought provoking questions for us to dissect and mull over, and we hope that you enjoy listening to us discuss them as much as we enjoyed recording our thoughts. For starters, Colin wants to know what happened with Stranded Deep. The once free with PS+ essential survival game, received a patch recently that makes the platinum easily obtainable in it's new co-op game mode. Is this something that makes sense to go after and how do we feel about this Ultra Rare platinum becoming way more obtainable? From there we discuss great book recommendations, our favorite homecooked meals, gaming soundtracks that we consistently return to, and what our dream jobs are. We dwell on these topics for quite some time as they were a lot of fun. Finally we close up shop with three trophy list reviews. Colin is optimistic about all things Capcom recently, including the Exoprimal trophy list. Slugger continues his love of rogue lite / like games with Rogue Legacy 2, and Darryl continues to find fun survival horror indie games in his review of Gylt. We sincerely thank you for listening, and for your support. We'll be back in two weeks time with a very exciting episode of what we've been playing, we'll reveal more details on that in the coming week or so. Take care, and happy gaming! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 88: The One With Portland Kevin

E

Hey there folks! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! Much like last time in Episode 87, Episode 88 features an all new special guest to the show, The Portland Kevin! Kevin is a long time trophy hunter, podcaster, and a more recent member of our Discord community and we welcome him to the show to talk about all things trophies and gaming. We begin with a bit of background on how Kevin got into trophy hunting, and how he approaches it today before getting into our Patreon submitted questions, and what we've been playing. Patreon topics include how and when we would introduce our kids to gaming, and what potential changes we'd like to see Sony make to the trophy ecosystem if we were in charge. For what we've been playing we cover a massive array of varying titles all the way from Star Wars: Battlefront to Diablo IV, 88 Heroes, and Ghostrunner. This episode is a beefy one but it has some great conversation, and discussion. We hope that you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 87: The One With Skrilus

E

Well hello there everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! This week we have a little shakeup with our hosting line up as Darryl was sadly unable to make this week's recording. However, in his absence we welcome a new Platinum Patron supporter to the show and long time listener, Skrilus, to his first guest appearance! The gang starts off by talking about the recent slew of gaming showcases and what impressions we took away from the news cycle that ensued. After that we go over our Patreon submitted questions where we discuss things like what the best sandwich is, what we consider to be the weirdest thing we've ever eaten, how we manage our gaming time on the weekends and evenings, as well as our thoughts on hidden loading screens in games. Finally, to end the show we review three new trophy lists in Final Fantasy 16, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Amnesia: The Bunker. Thank you so much for listening, and happy gaming! Take care!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 86: Trapped in the DZ

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this, our 86th episode we switch up the sequencing of our episode just a little bit, to allow for a greater conversation at the top about what we've been playing. If you couldn't tell from the beautiful thumbnail , Slugger, Darryl, and Colin have all been playing Tom Clancy's: The Division. While it's a clean up game for Slugger and Colin, Darryl is along for the ride and making some great progress on previously unobtained DLC trophies. It's a very fun game, especially coop, and we hope you enjoy our conversation around it. After that we get into our Patreon submitted questions with topics ranging from the serious to the outlandish. Would we go back in time and not pop our first trophy if we could? What did we do to entertain ourselves as kids before gaming? What game would we want remade and brought out of obscurity? All of these questions and more are behind the play button. To round things out we end our show with the return of the lightning round. Thanks for listening, please don't forget to like or upvote our show as it helps us find a new audience. Happy gaming and take care!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 85: Duo Queue

E

Hello there everyone! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk, your favorite bi-weekly Trophy Hunting Show! This week, as Darryl is on vacation all the way in Japan, Slugger and Colin are left to record a duo episode for you all. We don't think you'll dissapointed though, as topics and discussions in this week's episode cover a wide array of issues, games, and ideas! With Darryl out, we once again elected to skip the lightning round and the trophy guessing game at the top of the show, but don't worry we'll pick those up again in Episode 86. For trophy list reviews this episode Colin talks about Lego 2K Drive and Slugger goes over the indie darling, Humanity. Of course we also answer all of show write ins from our Patrons, which continue to impress us. What exactly would the trophy list for League of Legends be if Colin got to write one? What video game worlds would Slugger want to explore and vacation in? Just how crazy is the rarity of Crypt of the Necrodancer? All of this and more is just behind the play button. Thank you for listening, and happy gaming!

Hello hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show! This week, we're talking about the games we've been playing for the month of April and some of early May, as well as answering questions from you, the community. Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 83: Who Do You Voodoo Bitch!?

E

Welcome back everyone, to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! Episode 83 sees the team turn back towards some trophy list reviews for newly released titles, and we think we picked a pretty eclectic mix of games this time. Colin waxes poetic in seemingly another language discussing the lore and easter egg call backs in The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story's trophy list, Darryl takes us deep into the vibes of LA culture with Dead Island 2, and Slugger goes back to nostalgia with his examination of the colorful and unique, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection: Volume 1. Before all that, the group goes through another round of the trophy guessing game, answers your Patreon submitted questions, and more. We close out the episode as always with the return of the Lightning Round where Colin continues to maintain a few point lead. Is he getting extra points for being the host? Who can say. We hope that you enjoy the episode, and we will be back in Episode 84 for what we have been playing in the month of April. Take care and happy gaming! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 82: Got a Smoke?

E

Hello and welcome back everyone, to another episode of Trophy Talk! Episode 82 was a beefy one and we had a blast recording it. The main of our discussion centers around our experience playing through "Resident Evil 4 Remake". We discuss the structure, the story, the trophies, and the difficulty. The discussion begins around the 1 hour and 20 minute mark, and does contain spoilers so be warned! Before we get into that though we touch on the PS+ Essential titles for April, compete in another round of our trophy guessing game, and answer Patreon submitted questions. Topics for those questions this week include how we feel about services that allow trophy hunters to pay to unlock trophies, what our first games we remember playing were, what ultra rare platinum trophies we would theoretically want to go after, and how we reward ourselves after earning a Platinum trophy. Thank you for listening and supporting, and we hope you enjoy the show! =)

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 81: Island Boys

E

Hello there everyone, and thanks for joining us on another episode of Trophy Talk! In Episode 81 the boys are taking a little trip, we're packing our sun screen and board shorts and heading over to check out some islands. That's right, some could even call us island boys. Two of the trophy lists reviewed during this episode come to us from small developers who are not only based on real life islands, but whose games take place on and around such places. These games are "Tchia," and "Dredge," both of which are less than $30.00 and both of which seem to have some really inventive mechanics and trophy lists. Rounding out the trio of reviewed lists is the big hitter, "Resident Evil 4 (Remake)," which Colin reviews with child like enthusiasm making comparisons on how it's challenge runs and lists compare with the rest of the main line series. On either side of those reviews are the trophy guessing game, Patreon submitted questions, and this episodes Lightning Round. We hope that you enjoy the show and thanks so much for listening!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 80: The Return of the Pat

E

Hello there everyone, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! As you can guess from the thumbnail and from the title, we have a special guest this week, Patthetrophyhunter. Pat has been a long time listener, and supporter of the show, and regularly streams his trophy hunt adventures over on Twitch. He joins us this week for his second appearance on the show to cover a wide array of topics, and go over what we've all been playing for the past few week period. Pat is a veteran of the trophy hunting community / scene, and provides some expert analysis and critiques of the current trophy eco-system. Topics of discussion for this episode include: 1) What Makes a Great PSN profile, and what do we think would make our own profiles stronger. 2) What are the pros and cons of adding a racing wheel to your setup. 3) How do we feel about the PS4 and PS5 backend infrastructure being built on the building blocks of the PS3 PSN, and do we miss trophies from that era? In addition to that we have the trophy guessing game, lightning round, Discord shout outs, and all the latest info on what Colin, Darryl, Slugger, and Pat have been playing. Thanks very much for listening to the show and please go and give Pat your support / a follow over on his Twitch channel. Link to said Twitch is below. Happy Gaming and much love! Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 79: Russian Samurais in Space

E

Hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk. In this episode we have got quite the eclectic mix of trophy list reviews for you, in addition to answers to Patreon submitted questions, the next edition of our trophy guessing game, and of course the lightning round. For our Patreon submitted questions, we discuss our future content production pipeline, both for Trophy Talk, and our personal channels, as well as which of our Discord community members we would want to see appear on the show. For trophy list reviews, Colin rants about the seemingly broken mess of "Atomic Heart," Darryl talks about the sci-fi epic story based game of "Deliver Us Mars," and Slugger gets to wax poetic about one of his favorite franchises in "Like a Dragon: Ishin!" Our next episode, episode 80, will feature a long time Patreon supporter and community member Patthetrophyhunter. There we will discuss what games we've been playing for the month of February. Thank you very much for listening, and happy gaming!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 78: The Enemy of My Enemy is My Backlog

E

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk. In episode 78 we get into what the game has been playing for the last few months, and let me tell you, the titles are pretty varied. Colin bounces between the beautiful realism and brutalism of "The Last of Us: Part 1," and "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake." If that doesn't give someone whiplash I don't know what will. Slugger jams out on "Need for Speed Unbound" which entails drifting all corners and dodging cops... a lot of cops. Additionally, Slugger checks out "Mirrors Edge: Catalyst," and "Minecraft: Dungeons," in his journey through cleaning up the backlog. Darryl goes slowly insane while doing six playthroughs of "Erica." However, he gains some of that sanity back by playing both "The Calisto Protocol," and "Dead Space." On top of all this we get through another lightning round, another trophy guessing game, and your Patreon submitted questions. It's a pretty jam packed episode and we hope that you enjoy!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 77: Ka-Rah-Tay!

E

Well hello, hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In episode 77 of the show we're getting into some brand new games and trophy list reviews, all with varying degrees of excitement and hype surrounding them. Darryl takes us into the horror of Dead Space Remake, Slugger tries to parkour his way through the Forspoken trophy list, and Colin practices some sponge imitation in his examination of SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake. Along the way we ask the hard hitting questions such as; how many bronzes is too much? Why do some trophy lists have doubles of the same trophy and title? Just what exactly is zero gravity basketball? On top of all that we answer your Patreon submitted questions about our dream jobs, the PSVR2, and our impressions so far of HBO's The Last of Us. This episode was a blast to record and we hope that you have a blast listening to it. Remember to check out the Discord for details on the upcoming race beginning February 1st, and if you're so inclined leave us a nice review or thumbs up! Thanks, and happy gaming =)
